Description[]
Apex Legends vs Overwatch. This is a Death Battle between two super soldiers in the future that go evil and edgy because of the experiments done on them.
Intro[]
Wiz: About every franchise has a super soldier. They are capable of operating beyond normal human limits or abilities.
Boomstick: And there's a 50% chance that the super soldier either uses his power for good or goes insane and uses his power for eghghgvil.
Wiz: Like Revenant, the synthetic nightmare.
Boomstick: And Reaper, the wraith like terrorist.
Wiz: I'm Wiz and he's Boomstick, and we are going to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win...
Boomstick: In a DEATH BATTLE!
Revenant[]
Wiz: In the far future the Mercenary Syndicate, organizer and creator of the Apex Games and the ruler of the Outlands, were said to have "brought life and order" to this area after some devastation from the Frontier War and the withdrawal of both the IMC and the Frontier Militia. Existence of this group was first discovered by the public in 2708, where their hitman simulacrum named Revenant assassinated wealthy con-artists Marcos and Alanza Andrade on the flying city of Olympus.
Boomstick: Revenant was once human. He was the greatest hitman the Mercenary Syndicate ever recruited. But one day everything changed, he was unaware that Hammond Robotics transferred his mind into a robotic killing machine. So when his programming finally broke he saw what they had turned him into: A walking nightmare of steel parts. Every time he died his masters would resurrect him, bringing him back from the dead and programming him to forget each time. Obviously, he wasn't too happy about this and begin going on a killing spree.
Wiz: Revenant swore to himself that he would hunt down every single person who did this to him...
Boomstick: But more than two centuries have passed and they were all gone!
Wiz:... or so he thought. Years later Hammond Robotics made its return to the Outlands, renewing Revenant's thirst for vengeance and blood. Making a similar oath, he won’t stop until he buries everyone connected and a part of Hammond in a grave.
Boomstick: Revenant is an Offensive Legend who specializes in ambushes and pushing the enemy. He can climb up any surface with his bare hands like Spider-Man, can fire two devices call silencers, and can summon a Death Totem.
Wiz: The silencers are devices that explodes on contact and leaves a lingering cloud for 10 seconds. Getting hit either directly or by walking into the cloud deals some damage and disables an enemy's tactical and ultimate abilities. This only prevents enemies from activating the abilities. Abilities already in use are not affected.
Boomstick: It can shut off someone's powers and even gadgets and tech.
Wiz: The Death Totem protects users from death by turning them into "shadows". Instead of getting killed you will return back to the totem. In the shadow form, Revenant can teleport short distances, regenerate from smoke, and ignores all pain given to him. However, shadows can't heal and when they are killed they leave a short wispy red trail, which gives away a clue as to where the Death Totem is placed. Shadows are also weakened when they return.
Boomstick: The totem also has a max radius of 60 meters. Leaving this radius will turn shadows back to normal, which sucks. Revenant is an incredibly skilled marksman and hitman. He uses all types of guns like sniper rifles, machine guns, pistols, shotguns, and explosives like grenades. He can even form his hands into blades if he wants to stab someone through the chest.
Wiz: Revenant's body is pretty much bullet proof, allowing him to shrug off bullets and withstand small explosions.
Boomstick: He can even survive falling off of high areas like buildings and mountains, and just walks it off like it's nothing.
Wiz: He has superhuman speed as shown when he dodged and reacted to bullets, and has superhuman strength, capable of snapping people's necks like a twig or even throw them around like rag-dolls with one arm.
Boomstick: Or punch through them!
Wiz: He killed Forge, a world class fighter, assassinated con man Marcos Andrade and his wife, climb a skyscraper with his bare hands, killed 12 guards in about 47 seconds, can shatter metal doors to pieces with a couple of kicks, and has about 2 centuries of experience in assassinating and killing. However, Revenant is far from invincible and it is possible to kill him.
Boomstick: But it's really fucking hard. He's like Deathstroke, Agent 47, and the Terminator rolled into one!
Revenant: "I've seen the other side. There's nothing. You're nothing."
Reaper[]
Wiz: Over thirty years ago, multiple automated factories re-activated by themselves and launched a worldwide campaign to destroy humankind. This was known as the Omnic Crisis. No matter what they did, creating new technologies, designing new weapons, starting super-soldier programs, and more! No nation alone could stand against this growing omnic army.
Boomstick: So they united by bringing the best and strongest soldiers from each nation together to form a small and powerful strike team called Overwatch. This team dealt many devastating blows to the omnics, even inspiring the rest of humanity to fight back. In the end, Overwatch succeeded in winning one of the most catastrophic wars in history and went down as famous heroes.
Wiz: After the Omnic Crisis, Overwatch experienced a tremendous rise in members. More and more people with each of their own special talents, different backgrounds, ethnicities, professions, and ideals joined Overwatch. For 20 years, Overwatch served as a global peacekeeping force and founder of many new technologies.
Boomstick: But glory came at a cost. Overwatch was dealt a heavy blow by a series of allegations and controversial missions stoked public outrage, forcing some of the organization’s most famous and well-known agents to retire in disgrace.
Wiz: Worse still, the existence of another strike team "Blackwatch", a top secret covert operations division within Overwatch was uncovered.
Boomstick: A special UN committee launched a secret investigation into this team. During the investigation Overwatch's headquarters was destroyed in a large explosion that took the lives of its two leaders: Strike-Commander Jack Morrison and Blackwatch Leader Gabriel Reyes. Or so we thought as it was revealed that they were both still alive and well... sort of. Jack became Soldier 76, a vigilante that fights for good.
Wiz: Meanwhile, Gabriel became Reaper, a ghost like terrorist. His identity and motives are a mystery to the public, but it is known that whenever he appears, death follows.
Boomstick: Reaper is an extremely mysterious mercenary and a ruthless psychopath, who is responsible for launching terrorist attacks all across the globe. He wields 2 Hellfire Shotguns with 4 rounds each (It is shown to have 6 in the Recall cinematic short). For some reason whenever he runs out of ammo he throws them away rather than reloading them like a normal person. Littering anyone?
Wiz: He is even able to summon more out of nowhere, presumably from his own hammerspace.
Boomstick: He also carries a grenade launcher that can knock Winston the gorilla around.
Wiz: He has ghost-like powers, capable of transforming into his Wraith Form, which turns Reaper into a floating/flying ghostly mist that is intangible, making him immune to damage. It can be used to flee or pursue enemies and gives him enough time to reload safely.
Boomstick: Spooky. Shadow Step allows Reaper to teleport to any locations he can see. By damaging enemies he can heal himself and even absorb their souls from their corpses...
Wiz: The few bodies recovered from his murders are said to be pale husks drained of life, their cells showing signs of intense degradation. I theorize that Reaper is a byproduct of failed genetic alteration which forces his cells to simultaneously decay and regenerate at a hyper-accelerated rate.
Boomstick: Yay, sciency stuff... Anyway he succs them off?
Wiz: Boomstick!
Boomstick: What!? I was making a joke.
Wiz: I don't want this imagery in my head! Now please explain his final attack.
Boomstick: His strongest and personally my favorite attack is the Death Blossom. Reaper will spin around at superhuman speeds to shoot at everything around him like a beyblade armed with guns. It's great for wiping out waves of enemies and overall just annihilating someone.
Wiz: Reaper was one of Overwatch's most elite former combatants. He took a beating from Primal Rage Winston and took him down pretty easily; Primal Rage Winston was able to resist the shock of 3 taser guns and took punches from Doomfist, who could destroy buildings. Reaper nearly killed Soldier 76, defeated a Russian mech that could fire lasers hot enough to cut through metal with ease, killed 12 prison guards with ease, he defeated many Talon soldiers, and killed Antonio, the once leader of Talon.
Boomstick: He has some flaws as well. He is extremely ineffective at long ranges as his Hellfire shots spread out significantly, Shadow Step takes time and makes Reaper vulnerable, Death Blossom slows Reaper's movement speed and makes Reaper very vulnerable, especially from snipers outside of his range.
Wiz: He lost to Winston twice; despite Reaper having an advantage against Tanks, and thanks to the experiments, Reaper was driven nearly insane by his superhuman mutations. His cells are constantly dying and regenerating; including his brain cells and pain receptors. This means Reaper's mentality is in flux and he constantly feels pain.
Boomstick: In conclusion, don't mess with this edgelord.
Reaper: "I'm not a psychopath. I'm a high-functioning psychopath."
Intermission[]
Wiz: The combatants are set and ready to kill. Now let's end this debate once and for all.
Boomstick: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!
DEATH BATTLE[]
Talon soldier#1: Hey, you see the news?
Talon soldier#2: About Maximilien?
Talon soldier#1: Yeah, can't believe he's dead. They say he was assassinated by some hitman omnic...
Talon soldier#2: Well it's a damn shame. He was one of Talon's council members.
Talon soldier#1: I wonder who's going to replace him?
Revenant, who was listening in about the conversation climbs out of a vent and sneaks up on the soldiers.
Talon soldier#1: Anyway, I'm having BBQ at my place yo-
Revenant quickly grabs the guy from behind and snaps his neck with ease. The other soldier who is in shock, doesn't pull the trigger in time. Revenant turns one of his hands into a blade and stabs him right through the chest, killing the poor soldier instantly. Revenant pulls his hand out and quickly moves on to find his target. Eventually, Revenant comes across Talon's planning room. He quickly dispatches two guards outside with his pistol.
Revenant kicks the door down interupting Reaper and some unknown Talon members' discussion from around a table. Revenant kills all of them efficiently except for Reaper.
Reaper: Revenant is what they call you, yes? The hitman simulacrum.
Revenant: Congratulations! You know my name.
Reaper: Why are you hunting me?
Revenant: Because you've been marked on the list, and I'm about to cross you off.
FIGHT![]
Revenant unloads his pistol onto Reaper, but he is able to hide behind cover. Reaper takes out his hellfire shotguns and fires back. The room becomes a mess. Pieces of paper, chairs, and the table fly everywhere. Bullet holes cover the room and don't stop.
Reaper: I'm your worst nightmare...
Revenant: Shut it skin suit!
Revenant chucks a grenade behind Reaper's cover. It explodes but Reaper is no where to be found. Reaper laughs maniacally behind Revenant, he punches him several times in the back. Revenant counters by back handing him and then grabs Reaper by the throat.
Reaper: Get off of me omnic!
Revenant choke slams Reaper through the table. Reaper uses one of his Hellfire Shotguns and shoots Revenant's pistol out of his hand. Then, shoots Revenant in the chest, knocking him to the ground. Revenant pulls out an R-301 Carbine and shoots for Reaper's head. Reaper turns into his wraith form and floats past Revenant's bullets and down the hallway.
Revenant: I like it when they run.
Revenant pursuits after Reaper. Meanwhile, Reaper turns back into his normal form. He busts through a door and realizes he is in Talon Headquarter's cafeteria. Reaper blocks the door with a table and stands behind some cover. The blocked door doesn't work as Revenant kicks it off its hinges with ease. Reaper shoots, but Revenant is too fast. He dodges the bullets and quickly climbs over the cafeteria's walls like a spider.
Reaper runs out of ammo so he throws his guns away and pulls out some new ones. Revenant leaps off one of the walls like a spring and tackles Reaper. The two fly through the food bar and roll across the ground. Revenant shoots one of Reaper's shotguns out of his hand. Reaper then reacts by covering the area in some sort of smoke. Revenant is confused and shoots his surroundings. His gun makes a click, Revenant curses and drops his gun.
He goes into a fighting stance and transforms his hands into blades. Reaper ambushes Revenant into a choke hold and attempts to choke him out, but with no prevail.
Revenant: Trying to choke a robot? A stupid plan.
Revenant breaks free and kicks Reaper hard in the stomach. Reaper is already in pain thanks to his transformation so this makes him feel even worse. Revenant grabs Reaper by his hood and drags him out a window. As Reaper is falling he turns into his Wraith Form, safely landing on the ground. Revenant also jumps out and does a super hero landing on top of a car.
The two super soldiers stare at each other. Then, Reaper begins shooting. Revenant rolls behind the other side of the car and pulls out a sniper rifle. Reaper's Hellfire Shotguns wreck the car while Revenant snipes through the shattered windows.
Revenant: I'm going to enjoy your death!
Reaper fires two grenades at the car and blows it up. Revenant gets knocked back from the explosion and falls onto his back.
Reaper: Death walks among you...
Revenant: Hehe, I was going to say the same thing.
Revenant puts down a Death Totem and transforms into his Shadow Form. Revenant teleports through the fiery wreckage of the car and upper cuts Reaper in the face, knocking off his mask.
Reaper: My mask! Now you've done it.
Reaper puts his mask on, before creating a wave of smoke around him. He cackles and spins around rapidly, firing everything around him. Revenant gets blasted and obliterated into smoke. Eventually, Reaper calms down. He looks around at the smoke floating around him and realizes that the smoke regenerated back into Revenant.
Reaper: You gotta be kidding me.
Revenant shoots out two silencers that land on both of Reaper's sides. The silencers explode into an orange and black cloud, which hurt Reaper a little.
Reaper: Pathetic...
Revenant takes out his sniper rifle and aims. Reaper tries to counter by transforming into his Wraith Form, but it doesn't work. Reaper is confused and starts to panic.
Revenant: That trick won't work on me anymore.
Revenant shoots into Reaper's chest, the bullet pierces through any bones and organs in its way. Reaper falls onto his back and attempts to teleport away or turn into his Wraith Form again, but it still doesn't work.
Revenant: All you did was prevent the inevitable, skin suit.
Revenant turns one of his hands into a blade.
Revenant: Any last words? I must know.
Reaper is in too much pain to talk so Revenant ends the fight by thrusting his hand through his skull. Revenant pulls his hand out and stares at the corpse of Reaper.
Revenant: If I can be honest, I just like the killing...

Boomstick: What a great battle between two edge lords!
Wiz: While it may not look like it, Revenant should actually be superior to Reaper. Reaper does have an advantage in having more powers, but at the end of the day it wouldn't really matter. Reaper relies on his Hellfire Shotguns and Revenant counters them by having a longer range arsenal. Revenant should also be able to dodge and tank some of the shots as well.
Boomstick: Revenant's Shadow Form is similar to Reaper's Wraith Form except the fact that Revenant can still kill and fight in this form making him last longer against Reaper.
Wiz: Another huge advantage Revenant has is experience. He has about 2 centuries of experience in murdering!
Boomstick: The silencers also play a huge part in this fight. The silencers can shut off an enemy's abilites so once Revenant sees what Reaper can do, it is basically over. I mean I guess you could say Revenant had the edge over Reaper...
Wiz: The winner is Revenant!
Revenant: "They made me a killing machine. Who am I to argue with programming?"
