Raiden (Metal Gear) VS 2B (Nier Automata) is a What-If? Death Battle by Goodolnoah, featuring robotic warriors: Raiden from the Metal Gear series and 2B from Nier Automata
Intro[]
Wiz: Robots, machines made by their human creators to usually serve their every word.
Boomstick: Until they turn on them and destroy the whole human race!
Wiz: Robots are cool and all. But most of them are reduced to fodder for the player to destroy mercilessly.
Boomstick: But there are some robots that decide to prey on their own kind. Robots that kill robots. Warriors fighting for a noble cause! Like 2B, the badass battle android assigned by YorHa to take the Earth back from the machines.
Wiz: Or Raiden, The merciless cyborg trying to atone for his past actions by protecting the weak.
Boomstick: He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills, to find out who would win...a Death Battle!
Raiden analysis[]
Wiz: Born in Liberia, A young man named Jack lost his parents at a very young age. And he was adopted by a man named George Sears.
Boomstick: Or as his mortal enemies know him: Solidus Snake.
Wiz: He manipulated leaders all around the world in an effort to profit from the war economy.
Boomstick: And plot twist! He was the one who killed Jack’s parents!
Wiz: Solidus enlisted Jack into the Liberian civil war.
Boomstick: Where he became captain of a commando unit called the army of the devil. Who are sadly not actual devils.
Wiz: *sigh*. Jack became a natural killer. Earning the nickname Jack the ripper because of his high amount of kills. An-
Boomstick: Of course he was a natural! He was trained by freakin’ Solidus Snake!
Wiz: Yes. And because of his training he accomplished all of this when he was at the tender age of 10 years old. Long after, Jack decided to settle down with a girl named Rose. And they had a kid together.
Boomstick: Another Jack the ripper?!
Wiz: Well, no. Raiden sought to write his wrongs by joining a special taskforce.
Boomstick: Where he teamed up with Solid Snake and took down some bad guys, and bash gigantic robots! And even took down his dear old dad.
Wiz: And he earned a new codename. Raiden.
Boomstick: Except he was being secretly manipulated by a group called the patriots! An organization working in the shadows. And he also got cheated on or something. Low blow Rose, low blow.
Wiz: We shouldn’t get too into that story.
Boomstick: Good call! Too confusing!
Wiz: Raiden was captured by the patriots and used as a test subject for cyborg enhancements.
Boomstick: And he became a badass cyborg ninja! Now that’s what I’m talking about!
Wiz: And he was speedy enough to catch up to a moving train. Run on walls. And even react and jump across missiles. Strong enough to lift metal gear ray out of the air and throw it.
Boomstick: And metal gear ray weighs like...1,000 tons! Holy crap!
Wiz: And then he got an even more powerful cyborg form. Where he suplexed Metal Gear EXCLUSES, possibly one of the biggest Metal Gears out there.
Boomstick: Woah! Definitely bigger than Metal Gear Ray! Also not to mention he ripped off it’s blade, beat it in a swordfight, and then cut it to pieces with blade mode.
Wiz: In blade mode, time slows down and Raiden can cut things into pieces. Slowing down things like explosions, and bringing rain to an almost standstill.
Boomstick: And viciously cuts other cyborgs into itty bitty pieces.
Wiz: And he uses his high-frequency blade. Which slices through just about anything.
Boomstick: Buildings, cars, Metal Gears, the sad unsuspecting cyborgs he preys on.
Wiz: He also survived an explosion that completely destroyed Metal Gear EXCLUSES. According to the VS wiki blogger AguilaR101, this blast equaled, at minimum, 3 kilotons of TNT. And at max equaled 73 kilotons of TNT. He also has his Jack the Ripper personality. Which he lets out when he turns off his pain inhibitors.
Boomstick: Ripper mode makes him even faster, stronger and more durable. This guy is unstoppable!
Wiz: Close. But not quite. Raiden requires a source of fuel to keep functioning. Which can only sustain his powerful modes for a limited time.
Boomstick: But Raiden is still a vicious killer and a powerful cyborg! And a certified badass in my book!
Raiden: I learned young that killing your enemies felt good; Really good. In America, my friends, my family, they helped me forget the devil inside. But who am I kidding? I was born to kill! That nickname you love so much, wanna know how I got it? Actually, why don’t I give you a demonstration? I think it’s time for Jack... to let ‘er rip!
2B analysis[]
Wiz: Thousands of years into the future Aliens arrived at Earth and sent the humans packing to the moon.
Boomstick: Aliens!? I knew they would come one day! We have to build a bunker Wiz! How are we going to do Death Battle if Aliens take over?!
Wiz: I don’t think we’ll be a problem if Earth got taken over thousands of years later.
Boomstick: We can make sexy robot androids to fight the other robots that the aliens spread throughout the surface to conquer the Earth.
Wiz: And that’s exactly what humans in the future did. An organization started by the humans named YorHa deployed androids all over the world to retake the Earth.
Boomstick: One of those androids being 2B. She’s an expert hand to hand fighter and also knows her way around a blade.
Wiz: She can also equip a bunch of chips into her robotic system to boost her stats.
Boomstick: She has this really annoying pod that follows her around everywhere she goes. But it can do some cool things, like blow shit up! Nevermind. I think I like this pod.
Wiz: It mainly can shoot little pellets, can fire a laser, spawn a giant hammer, spin around like a blade, spawn a bunch of spears out of the ground, make shields around 2B, and among other things, can even slow down time!
Boomstick: She also wields a bunch of badass weapons, small swords, bigass swords, spears, and gauntlets.
Wiz: For this battle she’ll wield Virtuous contract, and virtuous treaty. Her small and large swords. Along with another set with Cruel Lament, her gauntlets, and virtuous dignity. A spear.
Boomstick: And she’s no slacker in strength and durability! She was able to beat Engles, a robot the size of a mountain. Which can output 719 kilotons of TNT!
Wiz: She was also unharmed by smashing her flight unit through a metal wall, cut So-shi into pieces, kicked a robot across a room and embedded it into a wall, and even cut off Eve’s big hulk arms made out of junk.
Boomstick: She’s also fast enough to easily dodge bullet fire, and easily blitz machines.
Boomstick: So Wiz. After this we’re going to start making kickass robots just like 2B? Right? I’ll start with making a shotgun arm!
2B: "Everything that lives is designed to end. We are perpetually trapped in a never-ending spiral of life and death. Is this a curse? Or some kind of punishment? I often think about the god who blessed us with this cryptic puzzle...and wonder if we'll ever get the chance to kill him."
Fight[]
Wiz: Alright the combatants are set. Let’s end this debate once and for all!
Boomstick: It’s time for a DEATH BATTLE!
In the city ruins, 2B awoke from an unconscious state. She put her hand on her head and looked around. Her pod came from behind her. She looked around, and then at her pod.
2B: Pod, analysis. How did we get here?
Pod 042: Unknown.
2B got up. She looked around the city ruins. Everything was the same as usual. Until she saw a group of YorHa units patrolling the area.
2B: That’s more than usual.
Pod 042: Analysis. An android of unknown region is in the area.
2B: Then let’s take a look.
2B got to the rooftops searching for a suspicious looking android. When she heard screaming below her.
YorHa unit: No! NO!
She ran over and looked down. She was too late. She saw the group reduced to sliced up pieces on the ground. A sword cut through the last one left.
???: Bullseye!
Raiden grabbed the electrolytes out of a YorHa unit and absorbed them. Leaving the unit in pieces on the ground.
Pod 042: Hostile lifeform detected.
2B jumped off the roof, in front of Raiden.
Raiden: Another one? They won’t give up. Will they?
2B drew her sword. Raiden readied his blade.
Raiden: I’m trying to-
Pod 042: Lifeform currently wanted by Yorha, Proposal: Dispatch it as swiftly as possible.
2B: On it.
Raiden: Another YorHa lackey. Predictable.
Nier Automata - Bipolar Nightmare
Fight!
Pod 042 shot a barrage of pellets at Raiden. Who ran straight at 2B and deflected the pod’s fire with his sword. He slashed upward at 2B. She parried and moved back a little, and stabbed forward. Raiden dodged out of the way and kicked her in the back. She fell forward and rolled to her feet. Pod shot a laser out of it, which hit Raiden head on. He got blasted back a little bit. He stayed on his feet however. 2B kept on the pressure with pod fire. Raiden ran around and deflected most bullets. Getting hit by only a few strays. He blitzed 2B and flipped his sword onto his foot and did a sweep kick. 2B jumped up and swung down with virtuous treaty. Raiden blocked the hit and they got into a blade lock.
Raiden: Your creators. Their liars! Frauds!
Pod made a line of spears appear out of the ground. Raiden dodged out of the way and ran up on 2B. They clashed a couple times with their swords. Until 2B took out her gauntlets, Cruel Lament. She ran up with a barrage of punches. Hitting Raiden a bunch of times in the chest. And ending with an uppercut. Sending Raiden in the air. 2B switched her pod. And this time it shot missiles at Raiden. Who switched on blade mode and cut the missiles into pieces. 2B jumped through the smoke that was made and stabbed forward at Raiden. Who parried it. They both fell on the ground. Raiden ran above 2B and stabbed down at her. She lurched up and kicked Raiden in the face and slashed him with virtuous treaty. Sending his body flying through some debris. He got up just in time to dodge a downward slash from 2B. He kicked her in the side and flipped his sword to his foot and slashed 2B a couple times. Leaving cuts across her stomach and arms a little. He flipped the sword to his hand and stabbed forward. 2B did an axe kick. Kicking Raiden’s sword down at the ground. She slashed across his neck. But he put his chin down. His robotic chin taking the hit. He did a break dance motion, surrounding himself with lightning. 2B backed away. And Raiden jumped up. And then did a bunch of back handsprings. Dodging a barrage of bombs from pod. He went flying back from the last explosion. Losing his sword.
SHING!
2B stabbed her sword down and into Raiden. And walked away.
2B: Mission accomplished.
Metal Gear Rising - It Has To be This Way
Raiden started laughing as he got up off the ground. With the sword still in him.
Raiden: You androids are all the same. Fighting for a cause you don’t even believe in yourself!
2B: ...
2B took out virtuous dignity and threw it at Raiden. Raiden dodged it and picked up his sword and took 2B’s sword out of himself. It disappeared as soon as he touched it and reappeared in 2B’s hand. Raiden ran up and stabbed his sword forward. 2B dodged, and made a bunch of afterimages of herself. She ran at blitzing speeds and kicked Raiden up in the air and punched him back down, well she would’ve if Raiden hadn’t blocked her strike in the air. He landed on the ground. A gigantic hammer appeared above 2B and she came down with it. Raiden dodged out of the way. 2B grabbed her spear and stabbed at Raiden longranged. He parried the hits and kicked the spear out of her grasp. A wire came from 2B’s pod and she grabbed Raiden’s arm with it. And pulled him over. Raiden stopped her midway and pulled her violently back. He put his sword over him to cut her in two. But she dodged the sword in midair, splitting into afterimages again and slashing Raiden across the back. 2B lit him up again with pod fire. Raiden blocked a couple shots and let out a lightning bolt across the battlefield at 2B. Hitting her hard and sending her flying back. Raiden felt almost drained. 2B ran at Raiden and slashed a few times. Pod 042 used slow, slowing down time all around Raiden. Raiden dodged to the side and fired on blade mode. Speeding up time around him and targeting Pod 042.
Raiden: Dead on!
He sliced the pod in half and took it’s electrolytes for himself. 2B slashed her sword at Raiden. And they got into another blade lock. Raiden kicked 2B in the leg. She backed up and took out her gauntlets and barraged Raiden with hits. Raiden blocked the hits. And waited for the perfect time to slice the gauntlets into pieces. She slashed her sword around over and over. Raiden blocked as much as he could. Until his guard was broken. 2B cut him across the chest. She threw her blade forwards at him. It was spinning in midair. And he got even more sliced up. He slashed his sword up at 2B. She dodged and kicked Raiden back. He raised his head up and 2B tackled Raiden to the ground. And set herself to self-destruct. Blowing herself up right over Raiden. He braced for impact.
BOOM!
A gigantic crater was left in the ground. 2B got to her feet slowly. And she started to regenerate via nanites.
Raiden cackled maniacally.
Raiden: Say hello to Jack the Ripper!
2B: Just die already!
Raiden came up to 2B and slashed rapidly. She took out her sword and blocked most of his shots. Until she parried him and drove him to the side. She stabbed into his side. Raiden lurched to the side and slashed across 2B’s face. Cutting her blindfold off. And leaving a cut across her face. Raiden cut 2B’s arm clean off. She took out virtuous treaty and spun around like a chainsaw towards Raiden. Raiden held out his blade and blocked the shot. He grabbed 2B’s arm and pulled her towards him. Right into his blade. He stabbed her in the stomach. And then pushed her back and kicked her into the air. He jumped up and cut her in half, and then into thirds, and then into fourths. And cut her further and further. He landed on the ground. Showered by blood.
Outcome[]
Boomstick: God! That was just overkill! Even for me!
Wiz: 2B may have had a better arsenal and debatably was more skilled. But Raiden was much, much, much faster and stronger. Being able to throw around Metal Gear Rays like it was nothing. And even throw Metal Gear EXCLUSES. 2B had no comparable strength feats. But that didn’t mean she was down for the count. While her feat against Engles equaled 719 kilotons of TNT.
Boomstick: And didn’t Raiden have a weaker feat? Only 75 kilotons at best!
Wiz: But Raiden has shown that he can beat huge machines similar to Engles. And before getting smashed through EXCLUSES he took a massive beating from Senator Armstrong. Who was stronger than EXCLUSES and had absorbed it’s power. 9S, who is a bit weaker than 2B got incapacitated after a couple hits from Engles. So it shouldn’t be hard to suggest that the case could be similar for 2B. Which means their durability was about on par with each other. 2B had never shown any strength feats comparable to Raiden though. 2B did have a better more versatile arsenal. But lots of it was things Raiden had dealt with before. It was also a matter of time until he got past one of her blindspots and cut her pod to pieces.
Boomstick: Well, what is it they say? 2B or not 2B! Wait I have a good on-
Wiz: The winner is Raiden!
