Intro[]
Boomstick: I love robots!
Wiz: I know you do and we have two robots here today that have a soul under their robotic body
Like R.O.B. the Robotic Operating Buddy
And Mettaton who will put you to Death by Glamour
He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
R.O.B.[]
The video game crash of 1983
The death of Video games seemed imminent
Up and Coming Toy Company turned Game Company Nintendo had a plan to sell the Famicom as the Nintendo Entertainment System
Which focused on powering a toy to make it seems less like a console and more like a toy experience
"Computer Entertainer" magazine called it "the world's only interactive robot", R.O.B.
R.O.B. in our world isn't very immpressive as he's just a toy
But in the fictional realm he competes in the giant tournament called, Smash Bros. where he gained a soul and a sense of morality
He helped the Smash fighters take on the Subspace, Galeem and, Dharkon's armies
For this battle, items and spirits are BANNED and only R.O.B's feats will be analyzed
He once defeated a giant reinforced version of himself
Don't get that feat twisted, it was through minor chipping damage
Well he is stronger than R.O.B. sentries
This is true as the sentries are mass produced
Mass produced or not these things can tank several hits from the Smash fighters
He can lift up to potentially 4,733,819 tons
He can tank the Majora's Mask moon!
Measuring the size of the Moon in Smash Ultimate we can deduce that it strikes with a force of 2.85 Gigatons of TNT
And the Shovel Knight Assist Trophy can tank it too, and R.O.B can KO him!
He has limitless stamina
He has a razor sharp spinning top
Gyro
It's a spinning top Wiz
Ugh...he can fly for a short time, needing to recharge afterwards
He has a robo-beam that gets stronger the longer he charges
Using his arm motors he can reflect projectiles
It also hits like a truck
The Diffusion Beam is a spinning laser that fires from his eyes
That's nothing compared to his Super Diffusion laser! Where he morphs into a laser cannon to fire homing lasers to trap you in front of him before he fires a laser and even fires a larger laser as a finisher!
He's just slower than Kirby
Robots are bad ass
If you're taking on the Smash Fighters you better be wary of the Robotic Operating Buddy
"The Winner is...R.O.B.!!!"
Mettaton[]
Mettaton wasn't always a celebrity robot, he was a ghost
He was very interested in humans
He befriended a...lizard lady named Alphys as they both shared this interest
One day they had an idea Alphys would build a body for Mettaton
Which would impress King Asgore so much, he'd make Alphys the new royal scientist.
While everything worked perfectly, they drifted apart
Initially built as a "human hunting machine", Mettaton decided to go his own way and become a hit television star...and the only television star...in the Underground at least
But his killing weapons weren't completely removed
Base Mettaton has an attack capability larger than Papyrus who can take out Frisk who can tank a fall equal to 30,153 pounds of force
Base Mettaton is unable to be damaged by some of the most powerful of Humans, and the weakest of which can still harm the most powerful of monsters!
When Mettaton goes EX he has a greater attack strength which is about on par with base Undyne who casually suplexes boulders
His defense lowers a bit but is still a struggle for mid level Humans
He's faster than before
Then there's his most power form Mettaton Neo!
His Attacking strength is on par with Undyne the Undying
While more durable than most other monsters he is the most frail in this form
He can fly and also create endless amounts of bombs
He's also able to spawn mini versions of himself
He can extend his arms and summon disco balls which fire lasers
He can also resist incredibly high temperatures
He can tank attacks to his soul as physical attacks
He's kind of a dick though
He squanders his high intelligence with his vanity and if he's not in his base form once his husk is destroyed his soul will be too
Yeah if he's destroyed in his base form his Ghost Form will be around and you can't harm ghosts as stated by his fellow ghost and cousin Napstablook
However, If you're a human and you meet Mettaton, try your best to not be eradicated
"RRRRREADY? IIIIIIIT'S SHOWTIME!!!"
Pre-Battle[]
Alright with the combatants all-set and the data run through all possibilities
Let's get ready for a Deathbattle!
Battle[]
Mettaton: Wheels onto stage Who is the contestant on my show today?
R.O.B: Spawns in
Mettaton: Oh another robot, let's do this
Mettaton: Spawns a bunch of bombs
R.O.B: Does his spinning attack in an attempt to reflect them but they blow up in his face
Mettaton: Don’t get blown spawns mini hims which throw some heart shaped stuff
R.O.B: Does the spinning things again to hit them back and reflects them back into the clones and fires a laser at him
Mettaton: Look at you trying with a peashooter Throws more bombs
R.O.B: Jumps around them and launches a gyro
Mettaton: a top? About to wheel kick it back before getting caught in it, doing nothing That’s it?
R.O.B: Fires his fully charged laser
Mettaton: Hit back A Bit more spice than your other attacks Launches the destructible blocks
R.O.B: Runs over punching through and jumps up blasting a plume of fire at him
Mettaton: I’m from hot land darling, heat means nothing to me, but He grabs him and rares up a punch uppercutting him, flyin up and landing on him then jumping
R.O.B: Grabs him by his wheel and does the spinning move with Mettaton in his arms straight into the ground and keeps punching him after throwing
Mettaton: Summons more mini hims which throws their projectiles
R.O.B: They hit his head before turning back to destroy them
Mettaton: Pay attention Shoves a bomb into his face
R.O.B: Hit back using his thrusters to stick the landing looking at nothing behind Mettaton
Mettaton: Oh? Oh! The audience should get my good side He turns
R.O.B: Notices the switch in his back when preparing for a sneak attack and fires at it thinking it was an off switch
Mettaton:....did you...just flip...my switch?
R.O.B: Staring
Mettaton: Smoke fills the stage Ohhhh yes in his EX form
R.O.B: Stares wide eyed
Mettaton: Speechless I know...oh wait you don’t talk, you know what I mean though, i’ll let your last moments online be FABULOUS Runs up doing and overhead kick
R.O.B: Hit into the ground
Mettaton: Stomps on his head noticing it didn’t break it Oh, a tough robot aren’t we? Jumps back and launches several long kicks at him
R.O.B: Gets up and weaves in between some before getting struck with one and then another and a barrage of Mini Mettatons come over and mass fire at him
Mettaton: Watching the robot get pummeled letting his heart piece split off to fire bolts of electricity at him
R.O.B: Getting kicked and hit by projectiles and electricity before noticing a brief opening to fire his fully charged beam at his heart piece, noticing it’s his weak point it powers through everything
Mettaton: It’s a direct hit blowing his arms off OH! Well anyway darling, the real pizzaz is in the legs! Sends hundreds of bombs at him with more minis
R.O.B: Kicked back down to take all the bombs to the body and projectiles hit him too before power comes to him and his Diffusion Laser comes out allowing him to break through the barrage pinning him and he drives at Mettaton
Mettaton: Spicy~ Throws another kick
R.O.B: Tanking it and hits Mettaton with it aiming at the heart piece
Mettaton: NGH- His legs blow up leaving him as a torso and head
R.O.B: The beam wears of and hits him down
Mettaton: Guess what darling...it’s not over yet! Unleashing a new NEO kind of Eradicating! Transforms again into Mettaton Neo delivering a savage blow of a kick
R.O.B: Hit way back
Mettaton: Charges a blast and fires it into him calling near limitless bombs which set off with the blast causing a huge explosion
R.O.B: Laying face down gets up
Mettaton: Flew into him with another kick knocking him back and starts dance fighting slamming his legs down each kick and firing blasts it him calling in some minis
R.O.B: Dodging each attack before a blast of lightning hits him spinning him out
Mettaton: Fires a blast
R.O.B: Firing his own blast to counter both blow up doing his spinning move to blast projectiles back
Mettaton: Summons a disco ball to fire white blue and orange lasers
R.O.B: Avoids a white one phasing through an orange and accidentally stops moving only for a blue one to phase through him, realizing the gimmick of the lasers and starts avoiding the lasers accordingly
Mettaton: Smart bot but I won’t just let you stand there He starts kicking at him
R.O.B: That makes dodging significantly harder, getting hit by the blue and white ones as the kicking and projectiles get more numerous beginning to overwhelm his sensory he hasn’t even touched this form of Mettaton yet
Mettaton: There’s no shame in quitting now, though it would be anticlimactic ups the ante by firing more blasts flying above him and firing more and more
R.O.B: Focusing too much on dodging as an alarming number of attack connect and they keep increasing before another power awakens in him and he morphs into a cannon
Mettaton: So you finally show me another side of you
R.O.B: Fires small homing lasers to get him in range
Mettaton: Starts weaving through them one piercing his wing causing him to start to crash as more start hitting him before he’s right in front of R.O.B So...i’m guessing you don’t want to join my fanclub?
R.O.B: Fires a huge laser right at him
Mettaton: Huge chunks of his body fly off ...Dazzling performance Darling,...by both of us…
R.O.B: Ends it with final blast leaving nothing of Mettaton left
K.O!!!
Analysis[]
Oh my god, that was the most fabulous badass fight either
Mettatons base form never had a chance of taking down R.O.B
And his base form was too durable for even R.O.B to break
This battle would’ve dragged on forever as Mettaton would’ve realized that R.O.B couldn’t damage him and he could’ve eventually found a way to hurt R.O.B
But there’s just one teensy thing, Mettaton is an attention whore
Mettaton is easily fooled by a chance to look at himself or others to look at him even turning his back to the opponent, leaving the opportunity to force him to switch forms
And R.O.B’s definitely able to take that one out even amongst overwhelming attacks
In order to reach R.O.B’s maximum durability Mettaton would need to use a RIDICULOUS amount of bombs so even EX’s higher attack wasn’t enough so the only option left is Neo
Neo has the same problems EX had in terms of not enough fire power
But Neo did have a HUGE mobility and arsenal advantage meaning if he could avoid getting hit by dodging or by sheer amounts of power he could eventually whittle R.O.B down
But R.O.B has one final attack to get through that
The Super Diffusion Beam homes in on targets, even the most agile of Smash Fighters have trouble avoiding them, like Sonic or Fox
And Smash Sonic is definitely on par if not faster than Neo
Leaving no question they could ring him in and a nearly fully determined Frisk was able to one-shot him leaving no question a huge laser that finishes with a bigger laser by a Smash Fighter could take him out
Mettaton may be glamorous but R.O.B is insane, he just couldn’t stack up to the MettaTON of disadvantages he had
Ugh…
No wait wait, looks like Mettaton had this victory R.O.B.bed from him!
