Pinhead VS Ghost Rider is a What-If? Death Battle by DBDoctor13. It features Pinhead from Hellraiser fighting against Ghost Rider from Marvel Comics in a battle of two former humans-turned-Hellish-pawns.

Description: Hellraiser VS Marvel Comics! Which of these two powerful hell-beings is the strongest?

INTRODUCTION[]

(Music: Wiz & Boomstick- Brandon Yates)

Wiz: Pinhead; the chosen favored son of Leviathan from Hellraiser.

Boomstick: Ghost Rider; Satan’s personal soul-collector from Marvel Comics.

Wiz: Our souls are the things that make us human. But there are times when they can be lost and transform us into literal walking abominations.

Boomstick: These two are the grand-pappies of humans-turned-monsters in their respective worlds. And today we’re going to find out which one is the best! He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick!

Wiz: And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skill to find out who would win a Death Battle!

PINHEAD[]

Wiz: The origins of the God known as Leviathan are unknown except for one thing; it exists to keep a balance between order and chaos.

Boomstick: Well, at least when the movies remember that aspect. Point being that the big L got REALLY good at taking sinners or people looking for the kinkiest of sex and turning them into demonic versions of themselves to serve him. But Leviathan needed a trusted man to run the operation since, well… he’s a giant pointy object in the sky. Fortunately, someone would fall right into his lap that would be the perfect candidate.

Wiz: During the First World War, Captain Elliot Spencer was a well-educated soldier who served the British Expeditionary Force during the conflict. However, he lost many good men in his time with the army and the aftermath had left him seeking something more than the alcohol and women that his colleagues partook in after coming home.

Boomstick: Ouch. I know war is rough, buddy, but c’mon. You never know until you try.

Wiz: Left wandering the earth with a combination of nihilism and disillusioned with the world, Spencer’s travels led him to British India where he first laid eyes on the Lament Configuration; a device used by Leviathan to summon the cenobites as well as recruit new victims to be turned into more cenobites. Spencer was told of the properties and the pleasures it would bring and purchased it from the owner. Upon completing it, Leviathan turned Spencer into the Cenobite that would control hell for him; Pinhead.

(PINHEAD: We have such sights to show you.)

Boomstick: As the new leader of the Cenobites, Pinhead comes equipped with all sorts of awesome demon powers; he’s able to tank blasts from a laser, rip arms off of other more powerful demons, and comes equipped with so many wonderful hell powers.

Wiz: Pinhead has access to telekinesis, telepathy, necromancy, and can summon cenobites to aid him if he requires it. Pinhead can also create a fog that causes anyone within it to wither in agony. He also has soul manipulation which allows him to take control and even feed on the souls of the dead!

Boomstick: Like Ghost Rider!

Wiz: A monstrous Ghost Rider.

Boomstick: Right. What I said. He’s also got matter altercation which allows him to rearrange objects like the Lament Configuration at will. He can create illusions, control fire and ice, shape-shift, and if he ever escapes hell in a specific way, can grow to the size of planet Earth! That’s 39,000 ft tall! But Pinhead’s favorite weapons are those wonderful hooks of his!

Wiz: These hooks are powerful enough to rip a human apart, tear into concrete, and can rip through multiple targets at once. They’re even powerful enough to lift a grown man into the air. Pinhead can further add buzzsaws to the mix for extra variety, or add hooks to his fingers.

Boomstick: Kind of like that Nightmare Kid Killer we pitted against the living embodiment of all dreams!

Wiz: With those abilities, it’s no wonder why so many demons and humans feared Pinhead. He’s matched the Hell-Princess Angelique who once punched through concrete and even matched the power of Lucifer himself! Not to mention he’s killed over two-hundred high-level magicians over the years and even fought and wounded Lucifer himself! He’s also a cunning manipulator thanks to his telepathy and illusions, able to play people into his hand perfectly. Such as when he tricked Joey Summerskill by pretending to be her father.

Boomstick: Goddamn! It sounds like nothing short of an act of god can stop this demon.

Wiz: Well, Pinhead is not without his fair share of weaknesses. Most notably that he needs to be summoned in order to interact with the physical world. Also, if someone can solve the Lament Configuration a second time, they can easily send him back to hell.

Boomstick: There’s also the problem of him sometimes either being a bit too emo or a bit too over-the-top.

Wiz: Well, if someone can remind him of his humanity, a powerful demon with enough dark magic could turn him back to normal and kill him as what happened to him in the second film. Or if they're powerful like the big man upstairs, they can remove the spirit from Pinhead's body and force it into another one. However, Pinhead must always exist with a host or else you'd get one crappy movie. Like in the third film when he was left without a host and proceeded to wreak havoc on Earth itself. At least until Spencer managed to re-merge with Pinhead to keep him under control and more abiding by order. Hence the over-the-top nature.

Boomstick: Well in spite of those flaws, I’d say that Pinhead proved to keep a balance between order and chaos. At least until in the far future when Leviathan decided it was time to finally unleash hell on humanity again. Fortunately, the last descendant of the Merchant bloodline that made the Lament Configuration managed to finally seal Pinhead away forever.

Wiz: But should you be offered a mysterious puzzle box with promises of pain and pleasure beyond human capacity, you would be best to reject it and never touch that object. Because solving it will bring forth the Cenobites and their Hell Priest and may heaven and hell have mercy upon your soul.

(JOHN MERCHANT: For God’s sake! PINHEAD: Do I look like someone who cares what God thinks?!)

GHOST RIDER[]

Boomstick (Rapping): Now this is a story all about how, Johnny Blaze’s life got flipped-turned upside down. So just you sit for just a minute and while you stare, I’ll tell you all about how he became the Ghost Rider.

Wiz (Unimpressed): …Really?

Boomstick: What?! It’s a classic! Anyways, Johnny Blaze might as well have been named ‘Shit.’ Because that’s all his life was. Constant. Unending. Shit. He started by loosing his parents, finding out his adopted father had cancer, and then risked it all by selling his soul to Satan… and his adoptive father still died anyways. And you think YOUR lives suck.

Wiz: Now bound to the Devil known as Mephisto, Blaze was fused with the entity known as Zarathos becoming the demonic bounty hunter known as Ghost Rider.

Boomstick: Turning himself into what I hope to look like after I die, Ghost Rider is one of the Marvel Universe’s strongest Mother F’ers; having taken on top-tier characters like Doctor Strange or The Incredible Hulk. Despite being a living skelenton, Ghost Rider is not one that can easily be put down by any small means. He’s nearly immune to physical damage on Earth, and is unable to be hurt by weapons unless they come straight from the big guy upstairs.

Wiz: But let’s say you have a holy weapon. That still won’t stop him because he can regenerate in seconds. That will make it worse when you find he has superhuman strength up to 25 tons that can be increased as he likes.

Boomstick: But of course, his greatest power is Hellfire. The kind that burns right through your very soul. He also has the classic kick-ass demonic chains that can be controlled mentally and grow to be used as a laso or staff! And of course, there’s the classic Hell-Cycle which also burns things if Johnny’s last name wasn’t an indication already. It can ride up walls and even travel through dimensions. Much like the chains, it can be controlled by thought alone. He also has a knack for sensing supernatural and dark magic around him like a bloodhound. Without a nose. Huh.

Wiz: But the Ghost Rider is not all about his brute strength, he also has control over your very soul. He can read and learn the identity of a person along with their sins by looking at them, purify a soul from sin and leave them emotionless, and remove and consume the souls of a victim. Lastly is his Penance Stare; a move where Ghost Rider makes his victims feel the anguish and guilt of everybody they’ve wronged. The stare is so powerful that enough sins will make those not strong-willed die.

Boomstick: Though some can survive it if they’re destruction-happy like World War Hulk and Thanos. But Johnny’s done a lot as The Ghost Rider. He’s kept up with Thor’s Hammer (which crossed a galaxy in under a minute), blew up a mountain, survived a beat-down from Worldbreaker Hulk, and even took down Mephisto himself. The same guy that for a time, withstood blows from Galactus; survivor of the Big Bang and professional planet eater.

Wiz: Though The Ghost Rider is not without his fair share of flaws. One such being that if one can remove Johnny from Zarathos, then you de-power Johnny. Though that would be unwise as Johnny is the one who keeps Zarathos in-check as it were. Should he be released, then you create a literal hell on Earth. Also as mentioned, Johnny Blaze can be harmed by weapons of heaven and powerful magic.

Boomstick: But good luck trying to take down a fast and strong demonic bastard like him. If you hear a motor in the distance, you know for certain that there is a Ghost Rider in the sky.

(DANNY: Did we win? JOHNNY BLAZE: I’m gonna say “yes.” Hell yes.)

DEATH BATTLE![]

Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set. Let’s end this debate once and for all.

Boomstick: It’s time for a DEATH BATTTTLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

PRE-FIGHT[]

(Music: The Hellbound Rider- Brandon Yates)

Late at night, Johnny Blaze is walking past a construction site when he hears a scream from a nearby alleyway. Running towards it, he finds a woman with brown pigtails confronted by a pale-faced individual in black leather with pins in his head. The individual seems to also be clutching a strange box in his hand.

VICTIM (Sobbing): Oh, no! Oh, please no!

PINHEAD: Oh, no tears. Such a perfectly waste of suffering before your flesh sings for my god.

Johnny snarls as his head lights up, transforming him into the Ghost Rider. The Spirit of Vengance shoots a demonic-powered flaming chain at the box, destroying it. The girl runs off as Pinhead turns, cocking his head at the new stranger.

PINHEAD: What have we here? Another self-proclaimed hero? Like Marshal Law?

GHOST RIDER: You must be new here. So I’m going to give you one chance…

Johnny gets up in Pinhead’s face.

GHOST RIDER: LEAVE.

PINHEAD: I’m afraid I cannot do that. She opened the box and now must come along with me to suffer for my divine god, Leviathan.

The Ghost Rider readies his chain.

GHOST RIDER: Then I’ll send you back to your god in ashes.

PINHEAD: You may try. Though you have no flesh, there are more ways I can think of to make you suffer.

FIGHT![]

Pinhead shoots a hooked chain forward getting Ghost Rider in the left arm. More chains pierce his body and skull as he struggles. Pinhead allows a small smile to briefly form on his lips as Johnny is lifted into the air and the chains begin pulling. Johnny tries to break free only to find it’s no use. Johnny takes a defiant look at Pinhead.

GHOST RIDER: Jesus wept.

With that, Ghost Rider is torn in half by the chains. Pinhead takes one more look at the remains before walking after his victim. However, he is interrupted by the sound of a loud motor engine. Pinhead turns around only to have chains wrap around his body. Ghost Rider drives past, dragging Pinhead along for the ride. Pinhead smashes into walls but remains undeterred even with the bruises, the blood showing, and the pins being pushed further into him.

PINHEAD (speaking over the roar of the motorcycle): If this is your attempt at making me suffer, then you are doing a poor job at it.

Pinhead summons up more chains in an attempt to catch the bike, but Johnny is able to weave through them effortlessly. Pinhead creates more chains forming a wall, but Johnny takes a deep breath. The demonic bounty hunter then expels hellfire from his mouth which melts the chains and creates a hole for him to continue driving through. Pinhead then summons another chain with two hooks on each end. He throws it and telekinetically slams one end into the back of Ghost Rider’s skull, and the other into the ground. Ghost Rider is stopped as the Hell Cycle continues without him, the two demonic beings slamming hard into the ground.

Pinhead gets up and turns around only for the Rider to have disappeared. A hand then taps the back of Pinhead’s shoulder. The servant of Leviathan turns only to be grabbed by the neck as Ghost Rider’s sockets stare deep into Pinhead’s black eyes.

GHOST RIDER: Look into my eyes, and begin to burn on the path to hell!

Pinhead’s mouth drops in shock as he convulses. Ghost Rider lets him go.

PINHEAD: The pain… the suffering…

He looks at Ghost Rider… and grins.

PINHEAD: It satisfies me.

GHOST RIDER: Aw, shit.

Pinhead slams a large hook chain into Ghost Rider’s chest sending him to the top of a building. Pinhead fires a chain upwards to join his foe.

PINHEAD: Pain and pleasure. They are one in the same to me. You think you can use THAT to make me kneel before you? I instead rise like a prince!

Pinhead creates a fog as it envelops Ghost Rider. He can’t seem to get a reading on his foe’s location, but he does hear the sounds of a carnival. The fog parts as he sees he’s at the moment Crash Simpson dies.

GHOST RIDER: No. NOT THIS. NOT THIS!

Johnny looks across as an elderly man dressed in black smiles. Crash goes for his stunt only to end up falling, his bike exploding and killing him. Ghost Rider falls to his knees, feeling overwhelming anguish from reliving the worst day of his life.

GHOST RIDER: NOOOOOOO!!!!

PINHEAD (O.S.): It seems even demons can suffer. Your sorrow will be of great service to Leviathan!

Ghost Rider then holds his hand up and catches something. We smash-cut to the rooftop as Johnny has caught another chain. Ghost Rider gets back up, facing the Cenobite down with a thousand-yard stare.

GHOST RIDER: You’re not the only one who can see through pain. I might be part-human, but that part keeps me in check for better or worse.

Pinhead turns the chain to ice, but the Rider’s flames burn brighter, canceling out the effect. Pinhead shoots another chain into Ghost Rider who in-turn wraps his chain around Pinhead. The two using their dark demonic magic to try and inflict harm unto their opponent and defend themselves. Evil glyphs float around as the satanic battle rages on, the sky turning inky black.

PINHEAD: It would seem as though we are evenly matched.

GHOST RIDER: Or maybe you haven’t been paying attention close enough.

Pinhead looks confused as suddenly the HellCycle slams into his back, pushing him close into the Ghost Rider who clotheslines him. The Hell-Priest goes flying upwards, only for the bike to fall atop of him and park itself. The wheels become flames, but Pinhead pays it no mind.

PINHEAD: Restraint? You make a poor representative of hell.

Ghost Rider leans down to stare at Pinhead.

GHOST RIDER: It’s not restraint for long… Eliot Spencer.

Pinhead looks confused.

GHOST RIDER: That is your name; Eliot Spencer. British Army. Served in World War I and disappeared shortly after the war seeking forbidden pleasures.

There is a tugging in Pinhead’s face as Eliot Spencer emerges.

PINHEAD/SPENCER: What are you-

Ghost Rider holds Pinhead’s hand gently. Almost like he’s a sick relative who he’s saying goodbye to.

GHOST RIDER: I’m forgiving you. And letting you rest.

Suddenly, the Pinhead soul is sucked away as Spencer looks in horror. Ghost Rider raises his foot. Spencer smiles, ready for the end as he closes his eyes peacefully.

ELIOT SPENCER (Whisper): Thank you.

Ghost Rider brings his foot down, crushing Spencer’s face into a bloody mess. He takes one more look at the fallen man.

GHOST RIDER: Amen.

K.O.[]

Announcer: K.O.!

RESULTS[]

Boomstick: Y’know I think that fight might’ve had some underlying S&M themes in that finishing move.

Wiz: Both characters were a force to be reckoned with, but Johnny Blaze ultimate won due to his higher stats in speed and power.

Boomstick: Yeah. Pinhead definitely had experience on his side having served Leviathan since the beginning of recorded history, and he definitely had some good illusion and mind-fuck powers. Plus, his love for pain and pleasure meant he could survive pretty much any physical attack Ghost Rider could throw at him.

Wiz: But then again, Ghost Rider could equally take anything Pinhead could throw and regenerate from that. Considering Johnny survived a beat-down from the Worldbreaker Hulk, it definitely showed his durability was stronger than Pinhead’s. Still, Johnny wasn’t going to make any attacks that would put Pinhead down. At least not physically.

Boomstick: Yeah, and that’s where Johnny’s win-con lied in; his soul powers. Pinhead may have bested magicians for centuries, but he’s never shown to be able to protect his soul from being manipulated. Even a noob like Channard who had less than a day as a cenobite was able to turn Pinhead back to normal.

Wiz: In some scenarios, Pinhead might have been able to pull off a victory by manipulating Johnny into killing the Spencer part of him to raise his power, or even preform the means to make Pinhead planet-sized, but Johnny has defeated equally-powerful beings like Mephisto who managed to survive a beat-down from Galactus; a being that survived the Big Bang. WAY more powerful than anything Pinhead’s dealt with.

Boomstick: Plus, with his look-and-knowledge abilities, Johnny would instantly know how to deal with Pinhead the right way and manipulate the souls to achieve the victory. He’d come out on top considering he’s kept up with Thor’s Hammer which could cross a galaxy and back within a minute. Again, much faster than Spencer.

Wiz: Pinhead was certainly no pushover and would be a powerful opponent to any other human or wizard. But against Blaze’s higher strength, speed, and soul manipulation, it was only a matter of time before he suffered for his sins.

Boomstick: Pinhead tried, but he couldn’t stomp out the fire.

Wiz: The winner is Ghost Rider.

TRIVIA[]

The connection between Ghost Rider and Pinhead is that they are both humans that share the spirit of a demonic being. Both were lured in by rulers of hell (Mephisto and Leviathan respectively), and the two use chains as their primary weapon. They also have a tendency to make their victims suffer.

This fight was done to celebrate Halloween.

The track title ‘The Hellbound Rider’ is a refence to the novella ‘The Hellbound Heart’ where the Cenobites and Pinhead originated from. It also refers to The Ghost Rider.

The track would ideally include dark choir vocalizations in the background, along with ominous tolling bells to represent Pinhead. It would also feature a heavy-metal guitar to represent Ghost Rider.

The girl Pinhead corners is based on Meg Thomas from the game Dead by Daylight which Pinhead also appears in as a guest-villain.
