Master Oogway is a character from the Kung-Fu Panda media franchise, the founder of the eponymous martial art in the franchise, and mentor to Master Shifu and Po.

History[]
Oogway is a Galápagos tortoise that left his islands and journeyed around the world on a tour of discovery of a thousand years. Eventually he travelled to Chine, where he founded the Jade Palace, where he taught the new martial arts form that he had developed, Kung Fu. He took on many students over the years, including Shifu, who eventually became a master with students of his own. Eventually Oogway turned over leadership of the Jade Palace to Shifu, and turned into a swirling cloud of peach blossoms, as he ascended to the Spirit Realm.
