History[]
Obelix is a Gaul from Armorica, he was born in 85 BC, on the same day and at the same time as his best friend Asterix. He is currently a menhir deliverer and always follows Asterix in every of his adventures.
Appearance[]
Obelix is a tall and obese Gaul with a big nose, red mustaches and braids. He wears blue and white striped braies with a green belt, brown brogues and a little horned helmet.

- Superhuman strength: Obelix possesses a superhuman strength as he fell in the magic potion cauldron when he was a baby. He can lift more than 20 000 tons and sweep away a roman army easily by himself, no matter how many legionnaries it counts. His strength can be shortly enhanced with one little drop of magic potion as shown in Asterix: The Mansion of the Gods Movie when Getafix gives him a tiny drop of magic potion so he could destroy the four buildings more easily, even thought it enhanced nothing in Asterix and Cleopatra.
- Superhuman stamina: Thanks to his fat, Obelix can withstand many blows without feeling anything, but he can be easily repelled by a magic potion drinker, as shown in Asterix and the Actress when Asterix gives him a punch that knocks him out. Obelix can also run for hours without feeling any signs of fatigue, howver, his stamina can be is highly reduced when he is hungry as shown in Asterix: The Mansion of the Gods Movie.
- Superhuman speed: Obelix can do tens of kilometers per minutes, but he does it rather when he is in a hurry.
- Intrepidity: Like all the indomitable Gauls, Obelix fears nothing but the sky falling on his head.
- Fighting: Whenever he has to fight, Obelix especially relies on his fists and his strength, he can also use an opponent as a weapon against the other opponents.
- Heat resistance: Obelix can resist to strong heat in deserts, he can also resist to the extremely spicy mixture he and Asterix cooked in Asterix and the Laurel Wreath, although he couldn't endure the spiciness of the garum in Asterix and the Chariot Race. He is also able to resist to some cosmic powers, as seen in Asterix and the Falling Sky when the Nagma sends him a blast of "fire of heaven" and remained intact.
- Cold resistance: Obelix can resist to cold places without any signs of weakness.
- Fourth wall breaking: Obelix is aware that he is a fictionnal character.
- Dog communication: Obelix is able to communicate with Dogmatix
- Poison resistance (With antidote only): When Obelix drinks an antidote made by Getafix, he becomes immune to any poison affects as shown in Asterix and Cleopatra when he, Asterix and Getafix eat the arsenic cake after drinking antidote and remained unaffected.
- Soporific resistance: Soporifics have no effects on Obelix has shown in Asterix and the Banquet when he ate a soporific roasted boar and didn't fall asleep.
