History[]
When dealing with Gods, one must accept that there are many stories of the deities, their origins, and their natures. It is possible for any, and indeed all, of the stories to be true, even though they are completely contradictory. As such, any “unified” history of Nyarlathotep is likely to be simultaneously correct and wildly incorrect.
In the beginning was Azathoth, the Daemon Sultan, the Primordial Chaos. Azathoth slept and dreamed, and as such created all of reality. Should Azathoth awaken, the dream will end, and reality will wink out of existence.
Perhaps through Azathoth, or some other unfathomable deity, the Outer Gods were spawned. Among the greatest of the Outer Gods is Nyarlathotep. He serves as the messenger of the Outer Gods, working their will as they dream and drift, spreading their cults, and causing chaos in their names.
Nyarlathotep is a unique individual among the Outer Gods, in that while the other Outer Gods do not have any interest in humanity, he does, much to humanity’s cost. He is a creature of pure chaos, and he enjoys spreading madness and chaos and despair. He has never personally visited the Earth, but he has sent numerous avatars there, each one with a different look, purpose and mode of operation, but all of them equally sadistic.
It is said that one day, perhaps merely at a whim, Nyarlathotep will destroy the Earth.

Appearance[]
Nyarlathotep’s actual appearance is unknown, if he even has an actual appearance. He manifests himself through his avatars, who appear in whatever form Nyarlathotep deems useful, be it animal or human, male or female.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Hyperversal+ Level (Much like all of the other Outer Gods, it exists completely beyond the "archetypical infinity" of conventional dimensional space and other constraints. Even the numerous avatars that it creates without any effort can transcend the concepts of dimensions themselves if it so desires, with its true form being far greater by untold amounts. Should transcend all of its avatars as much as they transcend creatures like the stronger Great Old Ones. Characters like Nyarlathotep are completely beyond the concepts of dimensions, and are beyond scientific definition, as it is superior to anything with a dimension, even those with infinite dimensions. Due to the power of characters at this level, it's very difficult if not impossible to determine the victor)

Note: The true Nyarlathotep never truly makes a personal appearance in any of Lovecraft's stories. Nyarlathotep is one of formless chaos, and much like all other Outer Gods, cannot be fathomed by lesser beings. All of the "Nyarlathoteps" that show up are just one of the entity's countless faces/avatars.
