History[]

Frank "The Tank" McCutcheon was a small time boxer, having taken after his championship winning father. After making himself known locally, one day Frank was challenged by a big time boxer from out of town, who easily knocked him out in the first round, severely damaging his face.

Thankfully, some guys from his gym recommended him an affordable doctor, Dr. Hatch, who had apparently been such a big fan of Frank's fights, where he went so far as to bet $20,000 on Frank winning the match. As this fell through, Hatch wanted personal revenge, so he removed Frank's eyes and tongue, stitching his mouth and eyelids shut, prompting him to become the monster known as "No-Face".

Wanting personal revenge on the doctor, No-Face attacked a hospital in order to kill Hatch, but instead murdered several innocents, earning him a cell at Blackfield Asylum, where he was visted by Calypso. Calypso told Frank that he was organising a vehicular destruction contest, and that the winner could get any prize they desired. Still wanting to get his revenge, Frank dusted off his father's old rally bug, and set off, competing in the Twisted Metal tournament.

Powers/Abilities[]

  • Extra Sensory Perception: Despite having no eyes, somehow No-Face has supernatural vision that allows him to see things despite lacking the necessary parts to do so.
    • This also includes his missing tongue and sewn mouth too. Somehow he can still narrate his own story.

Weapons[]

  • Crazy-8: A rally bug won by Frank's father in a boxing match, this modified Cord 810 is relatively fast and has decent handling, at the cost of it's durability being incredibly average compared to the other Twisted Metal vehicles. It comes stocked with several heavy duty weaponry, including...
    • Machine Guns: Typical machine guns that can be upgraded into much bigger, harder hitting machine guns, the upgrade having an ammo count of 30 bullets.
    • Fire Missile: A commonly found missile that is average in both attack power and homing capability.
    • Homing Missile: A missile that focuses solely on homing capability, sacrificing power for a higher chance of a hit.
    • Power Missile: Can only be fired straight, and sacrifices homing potential for raw power.
    • Zoomy Missile: A 10 missile assault that moves so fast that even Twister, a full on IndyCar, can't even outrun it. It focuses on quantity over quality, though if all 10 hit extra damage can be dealt.
    • Satellite: A decently powerful air strike missile that delivers heavy damage to victims hit by it.
    • Ricochet: A missile that has no homing capability but can bounce off walls. If a driver is hit by this attack after the missile has struck a wall prior, double damage will be dealt to the target.
    • Freeze: Originally a missile from the original Twisted Metal, the Freeze is an energy based attack that completely freezes an opponent's car instantaneously.
    • Land Mine: Self-explanatory, this weapon is a land mine that can be dropped to deliver a literal blow to an opponent's vehicle.
    • Invisibility: Crazy-8 somehow also has the ability to turn invisible. While it doesn't make the car intangible, it provides camouflage to catch opponents off guard.
    • Shield: Crazy-8 can project a shield up to offer limited protection against other attacks. All attacks deliver no damage, but the shield has a 10 second time limit.
    • Special Weapon: Crazy-8's special weapon is much different from the other competitors in the tournament. An omnidirectional laser, any opponent who comes near it will be shocked and subsequently slowed. Repeated button presses add an additional surge, or can charge it up to deliver more damage.
  • Boxing Glove: In his ending he gets his hands on a boxing glove with multiple sharp objects tied to it.

Feats[]

  • Won the Twisted Metal contest
  • Defeated the likes of Sweet Tooth, Yellow Jacket and John Doe, all experienced or trained killers.
  • Defeated Minion and Warhawk, the former being a heavily shielded and armoured White-Freightliner WFT 6364 and the latter being an attack helicopter armed to the brim with missiles and machine guns.
  • Survived his ordeal and even killed several people in a hospital with only his bare hands and hospital equipment.
  • As of Twisted Metal Lost, Frank has killed several people, stealing replacements for his own lost eyes and tongue.

Flaws[]

  • Crazy-8's armour is average, with it's rating being a 5/10 in Twisted Metal Black.
  • Crazy-8's special weapon also lacks range.
  • Invisibility does not make Crazy-8 intangible.
  • Frank is still a normal human, and can be killed as easily as a normal person.
  • Frank also lacks weaponry outside of his car, meaning that he's pretty easy to defeat without it.
  • Despite having spent 10 years killing people and stealing replacement eyeballs and tongues to restore his face, he still hasn't achieved his goal, only wanting to have a face so that he could smile at his baby daughter again.

Trivia[]

  • The Twisted Metal: Black instruction booklet is presented as a personal journal. The journal actually belongs to No-Face, who wrote it himself.
