Description[]

Skylanders VS Killer Instinct. Two boxers who were outed due to unfair advantages who have since made up and became heroes now come to throw down. Will Night shift not be able to use the combo necessary for survival? Will TJ be incapable of rolling with Night Shift's punches? Stay tuned!

Interlude[]

(*Cues: Invader - Jim Johnston*)

Technus: Boxing. A sport where two people try to subdue one another through means of punching.

Vulkanus: Boxing is one the most respected sports known and respected sports have equally respected rules.

Technus: But sometimes, there are people who disobey those rules.

Vulkanus: But instead of just giving up on boxing, they try to improve themselves to show that their skill is natural.

Technus: Like Night Shift, the violent vampire of the Swap Force.

Vulkanus: And TJ Combo, the titanium willed warrior with a Killer Instinct. He's Technus and I'm Vulkanus.

Technus: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a death battle.

Night Shift[]

(*Cues: Count Moneybone Boss Battle - Skylanders SuperChargers*)

Technus: Night Shift was once a rich baron with a lot of money.

Vulkanus: But that wasn't enough so he decided to become a prizefighter and fulfill his life-long dream.

Technus: Night Shift had it all. He was skilled, but one day, a rule change made teleportation illegal, forcing Night Shift to give up his belt.

Vulkanus: I bet they just did that so Night Shift would lose.

Technus: Crestfallen, he gave up, but he was then recruited by a wise Portal Master named Master Eon.

Vulkanus: Portal Masters are wise beings that can teleport skylanders to different locations for them to do missions.

Technus: But Night Shift wasn't just a Skylander, he was a member of the SWAP Force, a group of special Skylanders who defend Mount Cloudbreak, a magical volcano that collects the leftover magic used in Skylands and erupts it back out to replenish the magic of Skylands.

Vulkanus: That, and they're special Skylanders who can swap their bottoms for other ones.

Technus: Trust us, it's pretty weird.

(*Cues: Boney Islands Fight 4 - Skylanders SWAP Force*)

Technus: As a boxer, Night Shift is able to throw heavy but fast punches at an opponent.

Vulkanus: He can give his opponents the ole' one-two, bite his opponents with his fangs to recover health, and charge up to unleash a massive uppercut.

Technus: Night Shift's Vampire Bite can harm opponents over time. He can also teleport and leave behind a vortex that harms enemies near it.

Vulkanus: Night Shift is a skilled fighter, able to hold his own against many Fire Vipers. Unfortunately, as a Skylander character, he doesn't rally have a lot of feats. Also, should he hear the sound of a boxing bell, he will go into an uncontrollable boxing frenzy where he just punches every thing in his path.

Technus: Even without feats, Night Shift is still undoubtedly one of the greatest boxers of the SWAP Force.

Night Shift: Martial Arts? Bah. Boxing is the sweet science!

TJ Combo[]

(* Cues: The Instinct - Killer Instinct 2013*)

Technus: Tyler-Johnson Garett grew up in a poor family on the Texas coast. He didn't have much, but he had skills in boxing.

Vulkanus: TJ was enlisted into a junior boxing league where he promptly lost.

Technus: But instead of improving himself, TJ replaced the padding in his gloves with a roll of quarters and got his revenge with a savage blow.

Vulkanus: Yeah! Unfortunately, when the junior league found out, he was kicked out. TJ then took what little he earned and worked at a boxing gym in Chicago as a janitor.

Technus: TJ took every ounce of free time training, studying legends like Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali.

Vulkanus: Through years of hard work and dedication, TJ became the champion. But here's where things take a turn for the worst.

Technus: TJ had gotten lazy and blew his prize money on parties until he forgot his traning and lost the title.

Vulkanus: That's when he was met by the company Ultratech. Ultratech offered to put TJ back on top by infusing titanium implants into his arms to increase his striking power.

Technus: TJ held his title for 20 years thanks to his implants, but Ultratech wanted a favor in return.

Vulkanus: Nobody can be that patient. Especially a company like Ultratech. That sounds impossible.

Technus: Ultratech wanted to showcase their new warrior. A robotic fighter named Fulgore.

Vulkanus: Oh yeah, he fought that robot ninja guy.

Technus: If TJ wanted to keep his implants, all TJ had to do was lose.

Vulkanus: But he totally punched that thing into scrap metal instead.

Technus: Because of this, Ultratech exposed TJ for the cheater he was by reveaing he had titanium implants. So he was banned from boxing.

Vulkanus: They say learn from your mistakes, but TJ sure didn't.

Technus: So in his rage, he decided to rip his implants from his arms with his bare hands.

Vulkanus: Woah! This guy's insane!

Technus: Tell me about it. Anyways, now we can move onto his moves.

(*Cues: Yo Check This Out - Killer Instinct*)

Vulkanus: TJ specializes in the Out-Boxer style, staying out of an opponent's reach while taking advantage of missed swings. TJ's Powerline is a straightforward punch that can knock back the toughest of foes.

Technus: His Tremor Punch is a punch to the ground so hard that it creates a shockwave that knocks any foe down.

Vulkanus: And his Vortex Uppercut is a powerful uppercut that TJ can charge to knock his enemies into the air.

Technus: But TJ's moveset is more than just punches. His Flying Knee attack is pretty self-explanatory on how it works and is great for aggressively closing in. And his Shoot Toss throws his opponents onto the ground, leaving them vulnerable to his combos.

Vulkanus: That's where he got his nickname TJ Combo.

Technus: There's one more thing. When TJ ripped the implants out of him, they gave him a minor healing factor to ensure his arms weren't ruined forever. And somehow, he could also enter a special Instinct Mode called Glory Days.

Vulkanus: With Glory Days, TJ's combat speed gets a huge boost, allowing him to punch must faster and deal far greater damage.

(*Cues: Touch Me and I'll Break Your Face - Killer Instinct 2013*)

Technus: But even without implants, his Vortex Uppercut is strong enough to send the likes of Fulgore up into the air.

Vulkanus: And his knee is strong enough to shatter a glass window. And TJ's pretty resilient to pain, like when he fell from a 1,162 feet building.

Technus: And TJ holding his title for twenty years definitely beats the world record of 11 years, eight months, and eight days.

Vulkanus: He's defeated some his universes skilled combatants including: Orchid, Fulgore, and Riptor. But he never had a perfect record.

Technus: TJ has lost fights to the likes of Glacius, the ice alien.

Vulkanus: And as useful as his Out-Boxer style is, it can be overwhelmed by an extremely aggressive opponent. His overconfidence can make a match shorter, but not in his favor.

Technus: But one thing's for certain, when facing TJ Combo, sometimes you'll wish he had the implants.

TJ: And don't think for a moment that I'll let anything get in my way, cause if you give me that moment, I'll win!

Pre-Death Battle[]

Technus: Alright. The combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all!

Vulkanus: It's time for a DEATH BATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Death Battle[]

Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen; Introducing our first fighter: He' may be undead, but his punches and fighting spirit are full of life-

(*Cues: Light Phase Mesmeralda's Show - Skylanders SWAP Force*)

Night Shift comes in as his two lackeys beside him surround him.

Announcer: He's Night Shiiiift!!! Now for the challenger: A sturdy boxer whose will is the only thing that rivals the hardness of his former metal arms.

TJ Combo comes in with his two lackeys beside him

Announcer: He's TJ Comboooo!!!

Both Night Shift and TJ step into the ring and meet each other.

TJ Combo: You can't beat me. I know your type!

Night Shift and TJ punch their hands to each other.

Night Shift: If you know my type then you know how this will end.

In the audience, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were sitting and eating popcorn.

Sonic: Man, this should be good!

Knuckles: You know, I could beat both of those guys with no sweat!

Tails: Then why aren't you participating?

Knuckles: Something about me being too brutal.

Wash Buckler, Freeze Blade, and Blast Zone come to sit near Team Sonic.

Wash Buckler: Hey.

Sonic: Hi!

Blast Zone: That's our friend participating down there.

Tails: Good luck to him.

Freeze Blade: He's gonna need it. I heard his opponent once killed a guy with a powerful uppercut.

Knuckles: He can still participate but I can't?

Wash Buckler: Shush. Shush. It's starting.

Announcer: Here we go! And Fight!

(*Cues: Crushing De-feet - Skylanders SWAP Force*)

The bell rings, stopping Night Shift. Night shift starts to enter his punching frenzy.

Knuckles: What' up with your friend?

Freeze Blade: Night Shift's taken one too many shots to the head. So whenever he hears a boxing bell, he goes into a punching frenzy where he punches everything in plain sight.

Tails: I'm surprised that never happens to you, Knuckles.

Knuckles: Shut up.

Night Shift started throwing punches in random directions and took out the ref. He then started punching TJ relentlessly before coming to his senses.

TJ: Now you're toast, chump!

TJ threw some punches, but Night shift put up his guard. TJ punched Night shift back with his Powerline. Night Shift bounced off the ropes onto TJ where TJ grabbed Night Shift and hit him with the Shoot Toss and hit Night Shift with his Powerline. Night shift bounced off the ropes again. TJ grabbed him again, but this time, Night shift grabbed TJ and threw him down.

Night Shift started punching TJ's face super fast before slamming both fists down on his face. TJ threw him off.

(*Cues: I'm Back (to Rise) - Killer Instinct 2013*)

TJ used his Flying Knee to aggressively close in on Night Shift and hit him in the face. Night Shift started punching TJ in the face super hard and super fast at speeds TJ couldn't process. Night Shift then reeled in his punch Rayman-style and proceeded to throw a punch, but TJ intercepted using a...

KI Announcer: C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!

and stopped Night Shift. Night Shift used his infamous Vampire Bit and bit down on TJ, causing him to yell in pain, healing Night Shift. TJ launched his Powerline, but Night Shift dodged. TJ started charging up his Vortex Uppercut and fired, but Night Shift dodged and punched TJ in the chest twice and did a double punch to his face. TJ started feeling pain. Night Shift seized the opportunity and bit TJ again.

TJ used his Shoot Toss, but Night Shift bit him as TJ was about to throw down Night Shift, causing him to let Night Shift go and causing both boxers to fall down.

Announcer: I don't believe this, folks! From vanpire bites to knee smashes, this fight is unlike any I've ever seen!

TJ started to succumb to his wounds and fell to his knees. But then he punched the ground and started glowing blue.

Announcer: Folks! The same light that allowed TJ to defeat Balrog has come back. But can it save him from Night Shift?

TJ: You bet it can!

TJ Combo and Night Shift started exchanging a lot of punches that were constantly colliding.

TJ thinking: I got to give it everything I've got. No way am I losing to this Dracula phony!

TJ started to go faster and punched Night Shift in the chest super hard before laying a brutal beatdown the boxer of the SWAP Force. TJ proceeded to charge up the Vortex Uppercut, but Night Shift stooped the boxer using his very own...

KI Announcer: C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!

and pushed TJ back a bit.

TJ: Uggh! What?

Night Shift: Maybe you can't play with the big boys.

TJ felt weak and started panting, but Night Shift decided to end this and unleashed a massive uppercut on TJ's head, decapitating him and dismembering him as well.

Announcer: Holy moly spicy guacamole! Night Shift wins the championship even an extremely brutal fashion!

K.O!

Results[]

(*Cues: Super Evil Kaos Finale - Skylanders SWAP Force*)

Vulkanus: Kind of ironic how TJ died the way Balrog did since Balrog was technically killed by him.

Technus: TJ may have had feats, but that couldn't save him from Night Shift.

Vulkanus: TJ's Out-Boxer Style is quick and resilient, but can be countered by aggressive enough attacks, right? Well, guess what. Night shift's attacks were perfectly fast and aggressive enough to counter TJ's Out-Boxer Style.

Technus: And while TJ's healing factor kept him in the fight, Night Shift's Vampire Bite was more than capable of wearing it down.

Vulkanus: Yup. Not to mention that while TJ did have options for closing in, that only helped Night Shift by keeping TJ in range.

Technus: Even with Glory Days, while it did help match and even surpass Night Shift's speed, it only ran for a limited time.

Vulkanus: And any damage Night Shift took could easily be removed thanks to his Vampire Bite.

Technus: And because the Vampire Bite deals damage to opponents over time, Night shift was more than capable of using TJ's way to win against him.

Vulkanus: TJ just wasn't the Killer for the Night because his Instinct had a bad Shift.

Technus: The winner is Night Shift.
