Description[]

Wait, I thought you said you weren't doing this matchup! Well... times have changed. Two kids from RPGs that are almost gods duke it out in what's sure to be an incredibly epic fight! Will Frisk show Ness the power of DETERMINATION, or will Ness prove his powers of PSI?!

Interlude[]

(Cues: Invader - Jim Johnston/Theme of DEATH BATTLE!)

Wiz: Video games are truly universal. These pieces of media have created some of the most iconic characters in fiction.

Boomstick: But today’s fighters come from one of the most popular types of video games, RPGs.

Wiz: And these two teens not only come from RPGs, but they’re incredibly powerful!

Boomstick: Ness, EarthBound’s PSI Powerhouse!

Wiz: And Frisk, the Fallen Child from Undertale!

Boomstick: He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick!

Wiz: And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win...a DEATH BATTLE!

Ness PK ROCKS into DEATH BATTLE![]

Nessrocksintodb

(Cues: Pollyanna/I Believe in You - Mother)

Wiz: Ask yourself. What does the savior of the entire universe look like? Perhaps you’re picturing a buff adult who fights with his fists, or maybe a brave sword-wielding warrior?

Boomstick: Whatever you’re picturing, you’re wrong! It’s some teen with a sideways hat and a striped shirt!

Ness Section 1 (Sharaku)

Wiz: Ness is a 13 year old boy from the suburbs of Onett. He lived a normal life playing baseball and doing...whatever with-

Boomstick: THAT PIECE OF SHIT NEXT DOOR, PORKY! Or Pokey...I dunno, translation is weird.

Wiz: He lived a peaceful life, until a meteor fell from the sky near his house. When Ness went out to investigate, the things he discovered about himself was enough to change his entire path and lead him to discover his true potential.

Boomstick: And, what did he find? A fly. But not just any fly! A Superfl-...oh, we can’t say that. Never mind. Anyways, he found a fly/alien/thingy called Buzz Buzz, who told Ness about the future.

Wiz: Apparently, the destroyer of universes, Giygas-

Boomstick: -Who doubles as a creepy space fetus!

Wiz: -Has taken over most of the known universe and is currently on his way to the past. Already his influence is spreading to the past, and Ness has to hurry in order to stop it. Buzz Buzz tasks Ness with collecting the powers of the eight “Your Sanctuary” locations in order to unlock the true powers lying within him.

Boomstick: ...Right after getting beaten to death by Porky’s dumb, loud, and fat mom. Hey, your mom could pound me, just saying.

(Awkward silence)

Wiz: ...Moving right along, you might be wondering: “How is a 13 year old supposed to defeat a cosmic destroyer of universes?” Well, Ness is one of the chosen ones, people gifted with the extraordinary powers of PSI, or psychic powers.

(Cues: Bein’ Friends - Mother)

Ness Section 2 (Sharaku)

(Fuck I forgot PSI Paralysis but pretend it’s there ~ Sharaku)

Boomstick: Ness has some super insane abilities with PSI. He can shoot fire from his fingertips with PK Fire, freeze you alive with PK Freeze and, well, teleport with PSI Teleport!

Wiz: That isn’t even scratching the surface of his abilities. His PK Flash is a green ball of light with a multitude of special effects. It can paralyze, blind, cause strangeness, and can even instant kill!

Boomstick: He can shoot out a ball of electricity with PK Thunder that he can control. On alone it does good amounts of damage. However, if Ness wants to, he can hit himself with his own damn attack and launch himself like a fucking rocket!

Wiz: Ness doesn’t just have physical attacks. Many of his attacks raise his stats. PSI OffenseUp and DefenseUp both raise his offensive and defensive stats respectively, while OffenseDown and DefenseDown both lower his opponents stats.

Boomstick: PSI Shield sets up a protective force field around Ness that halves the damage he takes, and at higher levels, can even be used to reflect back projectiles.

Wiz: PSI Lifeup heals damage taken by Ness, while PSI Healing can erase status effects done to Ness. PSI Magnet absorbs incoming projectiles and heals Ness that way. All these techniques are incredibly useful, but they all pale in comparison to Ness’s two greatest attacks-

Boomstick: OOH, OOH! Can I do this section?

Wiz: Be my guest.

(Cues: Unfounded Revenge/Smashing Song of Praise (Smash Bros. Remix) - Mother 3)

Boomstick: YES! Ness’s two greatest attacks are PK Starstorm and PK Rockin’. PK Starstorm pulls down several meteors engulfed in fucking fire to utterly destroy the poor soul that gets hit by it! But by far his best physical attack is PK Rockin’. Ness’s signature attack, he releases a sound-based energy wave that’s colorful enough to give even the slightest epileptic some massive seizures!

Wiz: Ness is also equipped with his trusty baseball bat and yo-yo, which he can actually use very well. He also has the Franklin Badge, which is a special medallion that can reflect bolts of electricity. Normally these abilities would be enough, but Ness has access to even more abilities.

Boomstick: See, after Ness awakened all 8 Sanctuaries, he fell asleep and accidentally created his own fucking universe inside his mind! And it is a universe.

Wiz: After an encounter with the Truth of the Universe (basically EarthBound’s God), he gained access to two crucial abilities. One, after touching the truth of the universe, his psychic consciousness overlapped with everything in the universe, essentially making him Omnipresent.

Boomstick: Good lord, that’s creepy. I mean, he’s a teenager, right? This seems wrong on so many levels…

Wiz: Yeah...it kinda is. Regardless, Ness’s Omnipresence is an insanely useful asset in his arsenal. In case you are unaware, Omnipresence is a state of being that allows one to be anywhere and everywhere in space and time all at once. But what makes Ness’s Omnipresence particularly special is that the EarthBound space-time continuum contains five different dimensions.

(Cues: Porky Means Business! - EarthBound)

Boomstick: Yeah, you’ve got your standard 4 dimensions, but EarthBound’s cosmology has a fifth. The 4th Dimensional Slip. An entirely different spatial realm. Hot damn!

Wiz: But apparently, if that wasn’t enough, Ness has the power of fate on his side. During Ness’s time in Magicant (the aforementioned universe he created in his mind, by the way), he had an encounter with the Truth of the Universe, essentially EarthBound’s supreme being. And, yeah, that thing is Fifth-Dimensional as well.

Boomstick: And it was here that this Truth being described Ness’s fate. The Truth controls a sort of universal-wide system that selects chosen ones in order to combat evil whenever it is needed.

Wiz: Ness’s destiny is essentially predetermined. The most notable example of this is when Ness and his friends fought against Giygas and had only a 1% chance of succeeding in winning. Bet you can guess what happened.

Boomstick: Oh, and just in case Ness does suffer some sort of setback, such as death or incapacitation, the Truth says “fuck that shit!” and reverses time. The events that occurred to Ness are presented as a bad dream, and Ness can use what he saw to help him when he inevitably gets into that situation again. Yeah, get used to hearing that. I heard that the other combatant has something simi-

Wiz: Hey, no spoilers!

(Cues: Smiles and Tears (Smash Bros. Remix) - EarthBound)

Ness Section 3 (Sharaku)

Boomstick: R-right, sorry. It’s no secret that Ness is one of the most powerful heroes in Nintendo’s wide roster. Even in the early stages of his adventure, he was fighting enemies that could summon thunderstorms!

Wiz: Even the average thunderstorm can generate up to 2.4 Megatons of force. And when Ness fought against the Kraken (yes, really), it was able to generate tornadoes. He’s even been able to harm intangible beings like ghosts! As for speed feats, Ness is able to dodge and utilize light-based attacks consistently, one example being PK Flash.

Boomstick: You think that’s powerful? Wait ‘till you hear this next part!

Wiz: As mentioned before, Ness is essentially the space-time continuum of the universe. But Ness’s space-time stretches across five different dimensions. Because of this, it stands to reason that Ness’s overall strength should be Fifth-Dimensional as well.

Boomstick: Plus, Ness was able to damage Giygas in his abstract form, who was capable of attacking through space and time during the final stretch of EarthBound. And, Giygas has been stated multiple times throughout the game to be able to completely eradicate the universe. Hell, he even did it in that bad future timeline we mentioned earlier.

Wiz: And yes, being omnipresent means being everywhere in space and time at once-

Boomstick: Which is essentially a big “fuck you” to speed. However, this kid isn’t without his weaknesses.

Wiz: Right. Ness is susceptible to various status effects, such as paralysis, freezing, burns, et cetera.

Boomstick: He also...doesn’t exactly like to fight. Yep, the kid’s a pacifist, and hates fighting unless it’s absolutely necessary. This did lessen over the course of his journey, but it’s still disappointing. I mean, I could think of a few good uses for all that PSI. Maybe I could get rid of those damn raccoons.

Wiz: Don’t sell him short. After all he went through, Ness and his friends were able to stop Giygas once and for all, and secured their future as one full of peace.

Boomstick: AND THEN he went to go annoy everyone in Smash Bros.!

Wiz: Well yeah, that goes without saying.

“Giygas' goal is to destroy you. Listen carefully! Everything in the universe could be destroyed at the hands of Giygas. But he and his followers are also in trouble. The Apple of Enlightenment has foretold that Giygas' attempt will fail. It is because of the existence of a boy named Ness. ...That's me! Listen. Free your mind and KNOW what you must do! Your destiny has already been decided.” ~ Ness

Frisk is DETERMINED in DEATH BATTLE![]

Friskrocksintodb

(Cues: Opening - Undertale)

Boomstick: A long time ago, two races lived together in perfect harmony. Humans and Monsters. But if you thought that peace would last, woah nelly are you wrong!

Wiz: One day a war broke out between both of the humans...over a...well...dead child.

Boomstick: Wasn’t the child that got killed fucking crazy or some shit?

Wiz: Nonononono, I believe Chara went insane after getting killed. A-anyways we aren’t gonna spoil the entirety of the story details (because honestly you should play the game for yourself), but what you need to know is that the humans ended up winning the war.

Boomstick: They ended up sealing all of the monsters underground. The only thing keeping them from escaping was a barrier that could only be opened if the monsters attain the powers of seven human souls. I’m gonna be transparent, that’s dumb. Why on EARTH would they give monsters any chance to escape at all?! They’re monsters! They can totally fucking murk seven human souls!

Wiz: You’d actually be surprised. The monsters got trapped in there for quite some time. And during that time, they actually managed to acquire six out of the seven needed to break down the barrier. And for some time, that was all they had. They were trapped.

Boomstick: At least, that’s what they thought. Then one day, some kid went to the top of a mountain and tripped on a vine, falling into the Underground. I feel you, kid. I slip on my empty beer bottles all the damn time.

Cues: Bonetrousle - Undertale

Frisk Section 1 (Sharaku) (1)

Wiz: This young child was Frisk. And yes, before you ask, Frisk isn’t confirmed to be a male or female, so we’ll just be calling Frisk a “they“ for this.

Boomstick: So Frisk fell down a hole and ended up in the Underground, and this is where their story began. But immediately Frisk was greeted by a talking flower. Flowey. That son of a bitch...

Wiz: Flowey initially tried to trick Frisk into being friends with him, buuuut this devolved into Flowey trying to kill Frisk.

Boomstick: But Frisk was saved by the legendary goat mother, Toriel, who taught them about the Underground and how it works. But see, this is where Frisk’s story branches out into a few different timelines. Yes, you heard me right.

Wiz: In Undertale, there are three different “routes“ that a person can take while playing the game. One, you can spare every single monster you come across. Two, you can kill some monsters, but not all of them, choosing who and who not to spare. And three, you go on a murderous rampage and kill every monster in the Underground. Each of these timelines has their own special ending, but for all intents and purposes, we will be using feats gathered from all three, as they are all technically canon to the story of Undertale.

Boomstick: Frisk is well equipped with abilities needed to take on monsters in the underground. With their powers of DETERMINATION! No, really. That’s seriously the name of one of their abilities.

Frisk Section 2 (Sharaku)

Wiz: DETERMINATION is basically the power of a human soul. Every human has it, but Frisk has an insanely large amount of it lying within their SOUL. And yes, that’s a thing too.

Boomstick: Yeah, a SOUL is basically, well, exactly what you think it is. But back on track, DETERMINATION allows Frisk to do a variety of things. Most notably, Frisk has something known as a FILE, which allows them to SAVE and LOAD. Basically, it allows Frisk to time travel to and from these SAVE points. If Frisk dies, POP, they go right back to the SAVE point. And the best part about this is that Frisk gets to keep their memories. HMMMMMMMM, SOUNDS FAMILIAR DOESN’T IT?!

Wiz: If Frisk’s DETERMINATION is high enough, they can perform powerful actions. Many of these are status based, but still are quite powerful. With Flex, Frisk, well, flexes their arms, boosting their Attack stat. This can be stacked up to three times.

Boomstick: Clear Mind removes a status condition and increases Frisk’s Defense by one or two, depending if they have a status condition inflicted on them or not. Heat Up allows Frisk to heat up the battlefield around them.

Wiz: This ability is particularly interesting because it was used in Hotland, where even the coolest temperatures there were enough to melt styrofoam, which melts at an astounding 464 degrees Fahrenheit. The fact that Frisk was able to raise the temperature higher than that should show you how hot they can make it.

Boomstick: Cool Down is a basic counteracter to Heat Up, basically erasing all traces of heat brought on by it. Okay, but...why would you need that in a battle situation?

Wiz: Yeah, that one is probably situational. Anyways, Stare is when Frisk...stares at an opponent, temporarily paralyzing it. But by far their best combat abilities are Hope and Dream. However, these can only be used in the direst of situations, such as the fight against Asriel Dreemur in the Pacifist Route.

Cues: Hopes and Dreams - Undertale

Boomstick: Hope allows Frisk to raise their defense to the maximum. This ability was so potent that it reduced damage from the previously mentioned Asriel, who is vastly more powerful than Omega Flowey. Omega Flowey during his fight with Frisk was able to create countless timelines. That’s some pretty insane shit.

Wiz: Lastly, Dream allows Frisk to be able to restore all of their health and heal all of their status effects. Again, these abilities are quite useful, but can only be used if Frisk’s DETERMINATION is high enough.

(Cut to Wiz and Boomstick)

Boomstick: All this talk of DETERMINATION makes me wonder, how does it even work?

Wiz: See, I’m not entirely sure about that either. That’s why I have some essence of DETERMINATION (holds up small vial) right here. Now, D.U.M.M.I., come on out.

D.U.M.M.I.: Hello, my VS Debating-obsessed enslavers. Of what manner shall I be completely eviscerated today?

Wiz: See, that’s the thing. We don’t exactly know what this DETERMINATION will do to you.

D.U.M.M.I.: Oh joy, a chance for me to continue living amongst you.

Boomstick: Here, Wiz. (Snatches vial from Wiz) Take this, ya miserable ‘bot!

(Boomstick then throws the vial at D.U.M.M.I., causing it to shatter into several pieces while simultaneously splashing the DETERMINATION on D.U.M.M.I. Nothing really happens.)

Wiz: Huh, thought that there’d be more of a-

(A massive burst of light erupts from the body of D.U.M.M.I, blowing both Wiz and Boomstick back. When the light dies down, D.U.M.M.I. is seen with a glowing blue aura akin to Dragon Ball Z, causing many of Wiz’s lab equipment and Boomstick’s assortment of various firearms to levitate slightly)

D.U.M.M.I.: MY INNER STRENGTH HAS CROSSED A BOUNDLESS THRESHOLD!!

Boomstick: Well, holy shit, Wiz. That DETERMINATION is some potent stuff! You actually made D.U.M.M.I. sound anything other than clinically depressed!

Wiz: Indeed, even the impossible can be made possible with DETERMINATION!

Boomstick: When you say it like that, it sounds like some sort of window cleaner...

Wiz: Anyways, Frisk also has a groceries list worth of items at their disposal. While their main weapon was a normal stick at the beginning of the game, they have a wide array of weapons and wearable accessories.

Boomstick: The Toy Knife is exactly that, a fake piece of plastic. But it’s kinda like those slightly sharp pieces of plastic, so it grants Frisk +3 attack, while the Faded Ribbon grants +5 defense.

Wiz: The Tough Gloves allow Frisk to strike multiple times with their fists. They also grant a +5 attack boost. The Manly Bandanna-

Boomstick: -IS SO OBSCENELY MANLY THAT IT HAS ABS ON IT! That’s my kinda bandanna.

Wiz: R-right. The Ballet Shoes allow Frisk to kick rapidly multiple times in a row. They also grant a +7 attack boost. The Old Tutu grants Frisk an extra 10 defense points.

Boomstick: The Empty Gun is, well, a gun that has no bullets, and grants a +12 attack boost. Wait, then how do they fire it in game if it has no bullets?

Wiz: Well, it’s never been officially explained, but I think we can assume that they are a condensed form of DETERMINATION that can be used as a substitute for actual bullets.

Boomstick: Ah, gotcha. The Cowboy Hat gives Frisk a +5 attack boost and a +12 defense boost. The Worn Dagger is one of Frisk’s best weapons; it grants a +15 attack boost.

Wiz: The Heart Locket, originally belonging to either Asriel or Chara, the first human to fall into the underground (it’s a little vague on who it belonged to, but we can assume it’s either of those). It grants Frisk a +15 defense boost.

Boomstick: Lastly, the Temmie Armor, granted to Frisk by...some strange cat...thing named Temmie...is an extremely powerful asset to Frisk’s arsenal. It grants +20 defense, increases Frisk’s overall attack, and even heals them each turn. Whew. I need to lie down after all of this is done.

Wiz: Frisk’s arsenal is quite large and expansive, and their power-set is quite powerful. As such, it’s no surprise that Frisk has accomplished some truly spectacular feats.

Cues: Megalovania - Undertale

Frisk Section 3 (Sharaku)

Boomstick: Frisk is one tough cookie. They have been able to survive all sorts of punishment from powerful forces. Like the time they tanked an oven explosion that was worth over 20 kilograms of TNT! That’s enough to blow up your standard house.

Frisk Snippet (Sharaku)

Wiz: Frisk has also been able to dodge bolts of electricity from Vulkin. The average lightning bolt travels at around 220,000 miles per hour, so it shouldn’t be a stretch to say Frisk’s reaction speeds should be at least comparable. But these feats are small fry compared to the other things Frisk has done.

Boomstick: Frisk has been able to take hits from Omega Flowey, who was able to create countless amounts of timelines during his fight with Frisk. Frisk was even able to damage him a little. Obviously, Frisk wasn’t able to truly stand up to Flowey on their own, as they did get some help from the other six Human SOULs, but the fact that they were able to damage him at all means that they should at least be a fraction of his level, which would still be insanely powerful and probably engulf several timelines.

Wiz: And as mentioned before, Frisk took hits from Asriel Dreemur, who was immensely more powerful than Omega Flowey (due to the fact that Flowey in his boss fight was only “LV 9999“ while Asriel’s was “Level ∞“). Not only that, but Frisk was able to take progressively less and less damage from Asriel’s attacks up to the point that they couldn’t be killed by him at all. However, to say Frisk is a perfect fighter would not be true.

Boomstick: Frisk needs a lot of DETERMINATION to pull off many of their strong techniques, and if they don't have enough, they won’t be usable.

Wiz: This also carries over to their durability as well, as evidenced with their fight against Asriel. But overall, Frisk is an incredibly strong and capable fighter with loads of abilities under their belt.

Boomstick: Safe to say, that the Underground is in good hands with this kid. Or...bad hands, if you’re doing a Genocide Route...

"Um... what...

What IS your name?

...

Frisk?

That’s...

A nice name.”

Pre-Battle[]

(Cues: Invader - Jim Johnston/Theme of DEATH BATTLE!)

Wiz: All right, the combatants are set! Let’s end this debate once and for all!

Boomstick: IT’S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!!!

NessFrisk Combatants are Set! (Sharaku)

Fight!![]

Location: Onett, Eagleland

It was a beautiful day outside. It was baseball practice time, as Ness sat on the bench near the dusted orange field, awaiting his turn to take a swing. The coach of the team called Ness over, and many of the other kids craned their heads.

Ness picked up his baseball bat. The one that he had been through many adventures with. He walked over to the starting plate and got in position. The pitcher twisted his hat backwards and prepared to throw his ball as hard as he could. He’d need it. Ness smiled as the pitcher threw the ball towards Ness, full force. It was an admirable pitch; it would be enough to strike out any other player. Unfortunately for him, Ness wasn’t just any other player.

With a single SMAAAASH!, Ness swung his bat into the ball. It connected, sending the ball careening towards the sky, it flying far out of the other players' reach. As a matter of fact, it landed outside the field and onto the street.

Ness: I’ll go get the ball!

Ness tossed aside his bat and rushed off to the other side of the field as the other kids shook their heads in disbelief. Ness approached the baseball and picked it up.

But as he did it, he...sensed something. Immediately, millions of thoughts ran through his head, them all coming to one conclusion. He needed to leave and find this thing, right now. He then walked back over to the field and picked up his baseball bat. He unslung his backpack and unzipped it, placing the baseball bat inside.

Coach: Going somewhere, Ness?

Ness: Yeah, sorry coach. I have to take care of something. It’s really important.

Coach: It’s okay. Just keep hitting like that and we’ll be able to win this season’s championship for sure!

Ness: Yeah, sure thing!

Ness put on his backpack and left the field. As he was walking down the path back to the Onett suburbs where he lived, beads of sweat began to collect on his head. His facial expression became a mixture of confusion and worry.

Ness (thinking): I’m sensing an insane amount of energy. It’s coming from underground somewhere....But whatever it is, I need to see if it’s dangerous. If it is, I have to stop it.

Ness stretched his arms and walked down towards an empty pathway near the small forest in front of the Onett Suburbs, next to where the library was. Ness looked around just in case anyone saw him. Seeing nobody around, Ness quickly readied himself. He charged towards the forest, running at blinding speed. The tips of his clothing began to catch fire as Ness opened a portal with PSI. Waving his hand, using the powers of PSI Teleport, the black/blue portal opened wider as Ness dashed through it, transporting him to another location.

Location: Snowdin, The Underground

It was Frisk's turn to check Papyrus's traps. Unfortunately Papyrus was busy with training with Undyne, and Sans was just too lazy to do it, so the responsibility fell on Frisk. It wasn’t all bad, though. Frisk had secretly helped improve the traps, as quite honestly, on their own they...weren’t the best.

But it was actually an enjoyable experience to help Papyrus out. Strange how that worked. Frisk strolled down the snowy filled path, the light winds brushing their hair to the left. Frisk stopped at a snowman on the side of the road. It wasn’t made particularly well, but Frisk could feel the care poured into it.

✱The snowman seems to be smiling at you kindly.

✱This fills you with DETERMINATION.

SAVE - RETURN

Frisk continued their walk through the brisk morning. Finally, they reached the beginning of Papyrus’s fleet of traps. All of them out in the open, of course. Papyrus believed that his traps were “camouflaged enough“. This meant that stapling a leaf to a trap was enough. Frisk let out a silent sigh as they gathered a pile of snow-covered leaves. Luckily, Frisk had brought a staple gun with them. They began to slowly but surely cover the trap in leaves.

✱You cover the trap in leaves.

✱(Rustle)

✱Looks much better than before.

Frisk moved onto the next trap. It was literally just a cardboard box propped up with a stick. Underneath it was a concerningly old plate of spaghetti. Frisk quickly grabbed the plate, knocking up a bunch of flies. Gross. They then proceeded to throw the plate as far as they could. The less seen of that, the better. Frisk then reached into their bag of stuff Papyrus gave them. They pulled out a new, fresh plate of spaghetti. It smelled pretty good, but Frisk knew better.

✱You place the new plate of Papyrus’s Homemade Spaghetti™ on the ground.

✱It’s better than before…

✱But not by much...

Frisk added a few leaves for extra measure. But Frisk didn’t “fix“ it in any way. Papyrus was pretty insistent that Frisk not revamp any traps in any major ways. Frisk brushed their hands and prepared to check on the rest of Papyrus’s traps, the bag full of stuff that he gave to Frisk shaking and making noise.

Location: Mount Ebott, Summit

Ness stood at the edge of a dark pit leading down into what looked like endless darkness. But that certainly wasn't the case. He sensed a massive complex down there. It was filled with souls, although they seemed much different from ordinary humans. But he felt something much different down there. Something incredibly bizarre. It was almost as if time around that area had branched off. Ness couldn’t explain it.

Ness: May as well go and see.

Ness jumped into the large abyss below. He would have fallen and hit the bottom, but Ness activated another PSI Teleport, causing him to fall through the portal. Ness landed safely on the ground on the other side of the portal. He landed on something soft. Snow. The entire area around him, probably stretching for several miles was coated in a fine layer of snow, as well as a line of fog. Ness looked over to the side. There was an expansive forest, with a small town tucked in between the white-topped trees. He stared across the cliffside, wondering who lived there.

Ness pushed his thoughts aside and walked forward. The cold wasn’t too bad for Ness. He’d been in colder places. After walking for a bit, he found a bridge. Ahead was a small cloud of fog coating the other half of the bridge. He began to cross it. It made creaking noises underneath, but he made sure to be careful. Ness relaxed a little bit. If he was going to be fighting, at least it was in a pretty serene area.

Then he saw the kid.

Immediately after they came out of the fog, Ness got a massive headache, causing him to shout out in pain. Why was there so much of a massive amount of energy coming from them?

On Frisk’s end, they froze immediately as they saw the boy. He was wearing a red and blue cap with a striped shirt and shorts. The boy seemed to be in pain, although Frisk wasn’t entirely sure why. However, he seemed to be jam-packed with DETERMINATION. Frisk approached the boy carefully.

Ness rubbed his face. The headache was gone. But he could see what was so different about the child. It seemed as if time itself broke to their will. Ness saw the amount of timelines branching from the kid. Hundreds, if not thousands of alternate realities, all stemming from this kid. As hard as it seemed to believe for Ness, the amount of power radiating from them was comparable to Giygas. And that was horrifying. Ness looked deeper into the timelines.

And what he saw rattled him.

In several timelines, Ness saw the child slaughtering several monsters, one after the other. While Ness usually didn’t feel bad about monsters, these monsters seemed to have a sentience. A personality. And they seemed to be doing it mercilessly.

Ness stopped watching it. It was far too much to look at. Ness’s stomach sank as he looked back at Frisk, who was steadily approaching him. Ness shook his head as he readied himself. Frisk stopped and looked at Ness, who got into a fighting stance.

✱The striped-shirt boy readies himself.

✱It seems like you have no choice but to fight.

✱You’d better save now, you might need it.

SAVE - RETURN

Frisk readied themself. They then dashed forward and leaped across the bridge. While they were in the air, they pulled out their Toy Knife as they fell towards Ness.

Ness: Great. Guess I can’t back out now.

Ness ran towards the Fallen Child and jumped up after them. Frisk brought down the Toy Knife onto Ness, but Ness quickly reacted to this. He stretched out an arm and channeled PSI through it, creating a PSI Shield. The forcefield blocked Frisk’s strike, causing the impact to blow away all of the fog. Whoever won, this fight would be bound to get messy.

Ness VS Frisk Fight Render (Sharaku)

FIGHT

Ness released his hand, causing the PSI Shield to dissipate. He then grabbed Frisk by the arm and slammed them down onto the bridge’s boards. This shook the bridge, albeit slightly. Frisk flipped upward and slashed at Ness with their knife, but Ness was able to dodge the swings with relative ease. Ness then caught the toy knife with his hands and tossed it over the railing into the forest below. This didn’t faze Frisk, as they pulled out and equipped the Tough Gloves. Ness saw this and kicked off the bridge, rushing Frisk. The Fallen Child charged up DETERMINATION in their fist and slammed into Ness’s face with a massive punch. This action caused Ness to be sent spiraling back, crashing into the snow face first. However, Ness quickly got up, rubbing his cheek.

Ness: Ow…

✱The boy gets up.

✱His DETERMINATION…

✱It seems comparable to yours.

✱What will you do?

Before Frisk could decide what to do, Ness slammed into Frisk with a powerful ax kick. Frisk hit the bridge hard. Frisk got up and shook their head. Ness launched another kick at Frisk, but they were prepared this time, and blocked the kick with one arm. Using their free hand, Frisk slammed his fist into Ness’s midsection, knocking him off balance.

✱You decide to reference an anime everyone likes.

Frisk then proceeded to hammer into Ness with several, several punches. These consecutively knocked back Ness more and more. Then, with a final punch, they knocked over Ness once again. But again, Ness got right back up.

Ness (thinking): They seem to like to use physical attacks. Can they stand up to PSI?

Testing the waters, Ness began to concentrate PSI into his right index finger, heating up the tip of it with a psychic flame. He then quickly pointed his finger at Frisk.

Ness: PK Fire!

Ness shot out a bolt of flame from his finger, igniting with the air as it traveled towards Frisk. They quickly got out of the way, but this accidentally led to the PK Fire hitting the wooden bridge. The bridge began to catch on fire, slowly but surely burning through the wooden platform beneath them. However, this was gone unnoticed for now, as Ness and Frisk were too busy to notice. Ness shot off another PK Fire, but Frisk used the Tough Gloves to punch through the flames, effectively neutralizing the attack. Ness tried again, only for it to be bounced back at Ness. The PSI Powerhouse quickly activated another PSI Shield, causing the bolt of flame to scatter across the ground harmlessly.

Ness: Woah….I guess they can stand up to it.

However, Ness simply put out his arms to his sides. He began to charge PSI in them, this time manipulating the air around his arms to spark with electricity. He then pointed both index fingers at Frisk and launched out a sphere of electricity at them.

Ness: PK Thunder!

The ball of lightning swerved towards the Fallen Child, coming at him with the speed of a...well, thunderbolt. Frisk was able to avoid the bolt, but Ness used his hands and controlled the sphere back in Frisk’s direction. The blast shocked Frisk, singing their clothes and the tips of their hair. Frisk shook their head as they saw Ness charging up for another PK Thunder. Frisk quickly removed the Tough Gloves and put on the Ballet Shoes.

Ness fired, but Frisk was able to launch the thunder ball away with a super-powered kick, causing the attack to go spiraling into the forest beneath them. Frisk then rushed up to Ness and smashed into him with several kicks, each hitting harder than the last. Frisk ended their string of attacks with a massive kick. Ness was flipped over onto his back. However Frisk followed their aforementioned attack with a knee to the stomach, causing Ness to cry out. Frisk flipped away from Ness, who groaned. Ness staggered to his feet, looking at Frisk.

Ness: Man, you’re tougher than any Sanctuary Guardian I’ve ever fought against!

✱The boy seems to...compliment you?

✱Compliment him back?

YES - NO

✱You compliment the boy on his fighting skills.

✱You tell him that his PSI Attacks look really cool.

Ness: Oh...um...thanks?

Ness shrugs his shoulders and dashes at Frisk. Quickly, Frisk switched out his weapon for the Burnt Pan. Ness took out his baseball bat and swung at Frisk, who blocked the strike with the Pan. Ness pulled back and flung his bat at Frisk again, but this time Frisk dodged and smashed the pan into Ness’s face, making Ness skid back.

Ness: So now you’re using Paula’s attacks, huh?

Ness retaliated by shooting another PK Fire from his fingertips. The fire however was harmlessly deflected by the flat end of the Pan. Frisk then followed up by rushing up to Ness and sweeping their leg underneath Ness, causing him to lose balance. Frisk then slammed the Burnt Pan into the back of Ness’s head, causing a concerningly loud CLANG noise against his skull. Ness went face first into the snowy ground. Ness looked up, spat out a mouthful of snow and got back up quickly. Ness quickly performed a roundhouse kick at Frisk, which they dodged. However Ness only did this to gain some distance, as Frisk backed away from the earlier kick. Ness briefly pointed his fingers to his temples, and then shot out a yellow bolt of electricity.

Ness: PSI Paralysis!

The bolt of electricity was much different from the PK Thunder Ness had used earlier. Frisk was shocked by the charge and was immediately immobilized. They...couldn’t move. Why couldn’t they move? Ness took this opportunity to land a heavy kick into Frisk’s side, sending them flying back towards the (now on fire) bridge. Frisk tried to move, but was only able to manage a few inches of a raised hand. The flames began to burn more intensely, the rope supporting the bridge beginning to loosen.

Ness meanwhile, dashed towards the bridge, pointed his hands forward and concentrated PSI into the edges of them. With it, he opened up a PSI Teleport. Ness dashed through the glowing portal and ended up...twenty feet right above the bridge. Frisk looked up and saw Ness falling towards the bridge at an alarming rate, his hand charging up standard PSI sparks. Frisk struggled against the paralysis effect Ness had dealt to him. They only had a few seconds before Ness crashed into them. Frisk, DETERMINED, broke free of the paralysis that was constricting them, and quickly dove out of the way, causing Ness to smash his fist directly into the already-unstable bridge.

This caused two different things to happen. For one, the shockwave that the attack made blew out all the fires in the area. But...it also caused the bridge to collapse...sending Ness and Frisk…

Ness VS Frisk Fight Render V2 (Sharaku)

...to be sent into the Snowdin forest below them.

The fight seemed to follow both of the combatants as they fell. Frisk re-equipped the Tough Gloves and struck at the disoriented Ness, hitting him multiple times. Frisk then followed up with an elbow smash downwards, sending Ness even further down. However, Ness grabbed the Fallen Child by his shirt, carrying Frisk down with them. Ness’s added momentum from being struck increased the speed of their descent. Ness tried a punch to Frisk’s face, but Frisk pulled out the Burnt Pan once again, and Ness’s fist harmlessly clanged against it. Well, harmless for Frisk, that is.

Ness: OWWW!

Ness reeled his hand back and decided to try something else. He didn’t have much time, so he hoped this worked out for him. Ness pointed both of his fingertips and pressed them directly against the Pan’s surface. He shot out a point-blank PK Fire, causing the metal of the Pan to be completely melted through. The heat quickly worked its way up the handle of the Pan, causing Frisk to drop it in pain. Ness then quickly grabbed Frisk and channeled PSI into his hand. Ness then proceeded to throw Frisk vertically, increasing the speed of descent. Ness, who was above Frisk at an exponentially larger amount, began to levitate as he gathered PSI. The air around Ness began to spark with electrical charges, as Ness’s body began to be engulfed in a blue aura. Ness raised his hands to the sky, index fingers pointed towards the heavens.

Ness: PK Thunder!

Ness shot out a blast of electricity. But this time, Ness steered it directly back where it came, at Ness himself. The bolt came into contact with Ness’s body, and immediately he flew downwards towards the falling Frisk, wrapped in electricity. Ness raised his hand, and channeled all of his PSI into one final strike! Ness tore into Frisk with a massive electrically-powered punch, causing the two of them to slam into the ground hard, the resulting explosion of lightning shattering Frisk’s molecules-

Frisk readied themself. Ness on the other hand, looked around in confusion. His expression changed from bewilderment to surprise.

Ness: W-wait! What the heck just happened?

But Frisk leaped into action once more, causing a spur of deja vu from Ness. A million thoughts were running through Ness’s head, accounting for all the possibilities. An illusion? No, Ness would have been able to sense it. Some sort of hallucination? Ness didn’t feel any different than he normally did. So what was going on? Why was Frisk still alive? And in fact, why were they back to the same place they were before? It was almost as if time had rewound itself…

Ness (thinking): Focus on the present. Right now that kid is coming at you with a knife.

Ness, this time allowed Frisk to jump at him with the Toy Knife. The Fallen Child brought down the knife upon Ness, who simply caught it between his hands. Frisk, anticipating this, prepared a punch to Ness’s face, their fist covered in one of the Tough Gloves. Frisk swung at Ness, but he was able to duck underneath the punch and grab Frisk’s arm. Ness then slammed Frisk onto the ground, knocking the wind out of them. Frisk scrambled to their feet, while Ness still had a confused look on his face.

Ness: T-this time traveling thing or whatever...it has to do with you, doesn’t it?

By the look on Frisk’s face, Ness knew he’d been able to figure it out. But the only question that remained unanswered, at least for Ness, was "how do I stop them from continuing to time travel?"

On Frisk’s end, the only question they had was "how was the boy able to figure it out, and how could he prevent him from trying to mess with it?"

For now, however, there seemed to be plenty of questions, but no real answers to them. Again, for now.

Ness and Frisk both decided to test the waters once again, perhaps seeing if they were able to find an exploitable weakness with each other. Frisk pulled out the Empty Gun, while Ness began to concentrate PSI into his hands once again, this time the aura around him began to change to a greenish hue. Frisk channeled their own energy into the Gun, the once empty barrels in the firearm being packed to the brim with Frisk’s DETERMINATION. The Fallen Child pulled the trigger on their Gun, firing condensed shots of DETERMINATION in the shape of stars. Ness was peppered with shots, all of them stinging Ness’s skin. However, Ness crossed his arms and unleashed the attack that he had been charging up.

Ness: PK Flash!

Ness released a green orb of light from his palms, and sent it towards Frisk. Frisk saw the orb and dashed away from it, but unfortunately it wouldn’t help. Ness detonated the orb, causing a blinding flash of light to be released from the sphere, blinding Frisk. The Fallen Child staggered around, lights flashing in their eyes. They couldn’t see a single thing. Frisk slashed wildly with the Toy Knife, however none of the slashes even came close to hitting Ness, who waved through the swings easily. Ness revved up his PSI and slammed his fist into Frisk’s stomach, causing Frisk to double over in pain. Ness then charged up another PK Thunder in his fist, striking Frisk with an electrical pulse. Frisk was sent flying over and skidded alongside the floorboards of the fridge. Ness began to approach Frisk, walking towards the still-blinded Child.

Ness: I still don’t understand how you did it. How did you return us to where we were before?

Frisk jumped up, suddenly not blind anymore and kicked Ness upside the head with the Ballet Shoes. This knocked Ness backwards. Frisk then tried firing multiple DETERMINATION bullets out of the Empty Gun, but Ness set up another PSI Shield around him, causing the bullets harmlessly bounced off of it. Frisk jumped up and began to punch Ness’s shield over and over, the PSI Shield beginning to crack underneath the strain of the constant hammering.

Ness: Hyaaah!!

Ness outstretched both of his arms, simultaneously breaking open the PSI Shield and releasing a massive shockwave of PSI, blowing away Frisk. The Fallen Child was blasted to the other side of the bridge, while Ness landed on the other side. Frisk got up, wiping the snow off of their head. Ness stood, still trying to contemplate what had happened and how it had happened.

✱The boy seems to be trying to figure out something.

✱If he does, it may not work out too well for you.

Ness outstretched one of his arms. Frost began to collect on his fingertips and cold wind began to swirl around it. Frisk got out the legendary Temmie Armor and the Torn Notebook. The armor shone with the power of a strange...cat creature (oddly specific, I know).

Ness: PK Freeze!

The cold winds around Ness’s hand spun towards Frisk, who was able to swat the winds away with the Notebook. However, frost began to collect on the Notebook. Frisk boosted towards Ness with their strengthened stats, flying upward. Ness boosted up after Frisk and both of their fists met in a massive shockwave. The fight went close combat as Ness and Frisk traded blows at incredible speeds. Frisk tried smacking Ness with the Notebook, but Ness ducked under the swing and uppercutted Frisk in the face. However Frisk retaliated with a bicycle kick to Ness. Frisk attacked Ness with a whirlwind of slashes and swipes using the Toy Knife, but Ness was able to dodge all of them easily. Ness then tried to hammer into the Temmie Armor with his baseball bat, but it just clanged off of it harmlessly.

Ness (thinking): That armor is real bad news. I don’t think I can crack it just yet...but maybe if I…!

An epiphany struck Ness like a lightning bolt from the heavens. It would require some time, but it could work. Ness brought out his Yo-Yo and threw it like a ball-and-chain, making it curl around the Notebook. Ness yanked his Yo-Yo, causing it to be torn out of Frisk’s hands. Ness then used a PSI Teleport to warp behind Frisk and smashed both of his hands into Frisk’s head, flinging Frisk downward.

It seemed as if fate itself caused certain events to happen again, as Frisk was sent crashing through the bridge, and fell to the bottom of the chasm in between the two cliffs. Ness fell after him.

Frisk flipped over on their back midair, looking up at Ness, who was falling above him. Ness surrounded himself in an orange aura, making Ness’s eyes pulsate with a blue color. Frisk looked down below. They were going to be hitting the ground hard and fast. How could they survive hitting the ground that hard?

Thankfully for Frisk, they were able to come up with an idea. It came to them like a lightbulb turning on. It would require precise timing, but if they pulled it off, it could work out in Frisk’s favor.

Ness seemed to boost off of the air and fell towards Frisk at much higher speeds than before. Ness charged towards Frisk with a PSI-powered punch, but Frisk enacted their plan right then and there. They brought out the Burnt Pan, which Ness’s fist clanged off of harmlessly. However, the impact of it sent Frisk sideways. Frisk hit the cliffside, but they were not falling towards the ground anymore. Ness however, slammed into the ground with enough force to cause a massive column of snow to explode from the chasm.

Frisk looked down and smiled in triumph. The cloud of snow began to settle as Frisk began to climb up-

~CRACK!~

A fissure appeared across the center chest-plate of Frisk’s Temmie Armor. Frisk looked down at the armor in shock. How did the crack even get there? The cracks spread across the Armor until it was cracked everywhere. Frisk’s grip began to loosen on the rocks as the Armor shattered completely, almost as if it was atomized. The shock of this caused Frisk’s grip on the cliffside to loosen completely, and Frisk fell into the chasm as well. Frisk dropped the Burnt Pan, which had a massive hole in it for some reason. But, how did this happen?

(Flashback)

Ness had been boosting himself up with PSI OffenseUp and PSI DefenseUp the entire time both combatants were falling. That was the reason Ness was glowing orange earlier. Ness was able to boost his attack power enough to crack the Temmie Armor, and boosted his defensive capabilities enough for him to be able to survive the fall with no trouble. But how did Ness’s attack carry through the Burnt Pan? As it turns out, Ness was able to channel enough PSI to strike through the metal of the Pan and into the Armor on the other side, shattering the Temmie Armor.

(In the present)

Frisk got up from the ground groggily and faced Ness. Both were panting from the exhaustion that their fight had given them. Frisk wiped the blood dripping from their mouth and gritted their teeth. Ness prepared himself for another exchange. Since Frisk lost the Temmie Armor, and most of their weapons had been rendered null by Ness, Frisk decided that enough was enough, and they’d have to get serious. Frisk Cleared their Mind and was able to increase their defense. Frisk then equipped the Heart Locket and pulled out the Worn Dagger, the strongest weapons and armor in their arsenal. Ness and Frisk both took a deep breath and prepared for what would be the final showdown.

Ness: It’s time to finish this!

Ness and Frisk rushed each other and collided with each other. Their brutal assault against each other continued as they beat into each other with a variety of melee based attacks. Ness had brought out his Yo-Yo once more and was using it to great effect, striking at Frisk one after the other with blows from the normally harmless toy. Frisk was able to react to one of the swings and dodged the Yo-Yo. Quickly, Frisk used the Worn Dagger to slice the rope holding the Yo-Yo together, rendering it useless.

Ness: Hey! That Yo-Yo cost 20 dollars!

Miffed, Ness brought out his baseball bat and swung at Frisk. Frisk was able to block this attack with the flat of the Dagger, both of them pushing against each other’s respective weapons. Finally, Frisk swept their leg underneath Ness, causing him to lose balance and drop to the ground. Frisk, standing above Ness, jabbed their dagger downwards towards Ness in an attempt to stab him. However, Ness was able to narrowly avoid this by throwing himself to the right, rolling back upwards. Ness then pointed both of his fingertips at Frisk, shooting out a PK Fire. Frisk avoided the attack, causing the stray PK Fire to obliterate a massive boulder behind Frisk in an instant. But that attack Ness had fired off just now gave Frisk an idea. Frisk outstretched their arms and used Heat Up, causing a massive burst of hot air to be released from the area surrounding Frisk. Almost immediately, all of the snow in the area melted as Ness wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Ness: Man, why is it really hot all of a sudden?

Frisk used Ness’s new disorientation to execute a quick strike at Ness, slamming into Ness with a strong punch. Frisk then began to hammer into Ness with a quick assault from a combination of the Tough Gloves and Ballet Shoes. Ness was sent flying, but Frisk stopped Ness’s momentum with...a Stare.

Ness was paralyzed, much like how Frisk was before. Ironic, in a sense. Frisk calmly approached the restrained Ness, gripping their knife. Frisk was right in front of Ness, their expression blank as they channeled all of their DETERMINATION into one final stab. Frisk brought down the knife and-

~SMAAAASH!!~

Frisk brought down their knife, causing a massive explosion to erupt from where Frisk stabbed. A good section of both cliff sides were completely destroyed by the attack. Frisk was temporarily blinded thanks to all of the dust, but they wiped it from their eyes. They then looked at where Ness was. They couldn’t see anything, but Frisk was sure that they had been able to take out Ness for good-

Wait, what?!

Ness was gone! Where did he go?! How did he even escape from the paralysis? But then it struck Frisk that Ness had been using some sort of teleportation technique. If that was the case, and Ness had escaped...where was he?

High above the chasm, Ness floated midair using PSI. Frisk looked up and saw Ness, albeit barely. Ness’s body pulsated with a glowing cyan aura. Ness pointed both of his hands downward towards Frisk. The Fallen Child knew that Ness was about to unleash a massive amount of energy. It was almost as if the adrenaline running through Frisk’s body triggered their boost in DETERMINATION, Frisk’s expression growing more and more ready to face whatever Ness unleashed at him. Meanwhile, Ness looked down at Frisk, and had only one thing to say to them.

Ness: PK...STARSTORM!!

The entire area of Snowdin began to rumble. But it wasn’t an earthquake or anything like that. No, it was something much, much bigger than that.

Frisk looked upwards into the sky. Their eyes widened as a massive amount of meteors engulfed in a blue flame soared towards the ground. The moment some of them touched the ground, a massive blue column of flame burst out from the crater, causing a large amount of explosions to batter the Snowdin area.

Frisk was busy dashing away into a more open area, attempting to get into a place where they were less likely to be struck by a meteor. Ness, seeing what Frisk was trying to do, quickly guided some of the massive projectiles towards Frisk’s area. Frisk looked behind and saw a massive meteor approaching Frisk at incredible speeds. Frisk had virtually no time to react as the meteor slammed into the ground, completely crushing the Fallen Child-

💔

But it refused.

Frisk burst out of the debris of what was left of the meteor and jumped in the air towards Ness, Dagger in hand. Ness, clearly surprised that the meteor had not done its proper job, guided more meteors towards the Fallen Child. However, Frisk was pulsing with DETERMINATION, it being so potent that the white aura was visible around them. Frisk cut through the meteors Ness had sent to them as if they were nothing but air. Ness brought in a meteor from behind Frisk, causing a massive explosion that burnt Frisk’s body to nothing but ash-

💔

But it refused.

Ness was able to see what had happened. It was as if Frisk’s ashes had reformed thanks to the Fallen Child’s own sheer willpower. Ness decided enough was enough, and brought down one last meteor from the heavens. This meteor in particular looked as if it would have been large enough to carve away an entire city block. The massive projectile approached Frisk, but the Child smiled as they took the entirety of the attack face-first, causing a massive blue explosion midair. When the smoke caused by the attack had dissipated, Frisk hadn’t even been scratched. Frisk’s DETERMINATION was practically palpable as they soared towards Ness.

Ness, meanwhile, was trying to process what just happened. He was sure that those attacks would have been enough to end the fight completely, yet Frisk persisted. They were still alive. Ness then looked at Frisk once more. He tried to sense the emotions being radiated from the Fallen Child. What Ness sensed was nothing but pure...determination. Determination to win the fight they had created.

And that moment was when Ness understood. He understood everything that had happened, because he was there when it happened. In a sense, at least.

Frisk channeled as much DETERMINATION as they could into the Dagger. The weapon shone like no other, and it would be enough to cut through anything that stood in Frisk’s way. Frisk had almost reached Ness, who was floating in air motionless. Frisk raised the knife to slash down onto Ness. Frisk had reached Ness, and as Frisk swung the knife down upon Ness…

...They froze.

Ness floated around and observed the timeline. Or rather, timelines that had been caused by Ness and Frisk’s fight. Ness stared towards the future, and saw nothing but countless timelines spreading across the multiverse. He shook his head in disbelief.

Ness: How much more bloodshed will our fight cause? I can’t let this continue any longer!

Ness flew down the dimensional matrix of space and time, viewing timelines flash by. Many of the timelines Ness saw were the ones that he had witnessed when he had first met Frisk. In many of them, endless acts of violence were being caused, which made Ness even more adamant about his belief. Ness had to stop this. He had to stop everything caused by Frisk. And most of all, he had to stop Frisk themselves. Ness flew faster and faster, looking for the place where it all began. Finally, Ness saw it.

Ness: There it is!

The singularity point. The very moment Frisk had come into existence. The place where all of the countless timelines branched out from. Ness accelerated. This would be the attack to decide everything. Ness charged up all of his PSI into his fist, engulfing it in a red, blue and yellow aura - PK Rockin’. Ness approached the singularity point…

Ness: HYYAAAAAAH!!!

Ness VS Frisk K

...And shattered it, as all of Frisk’s timelines replayed at once throughout the multiverse, only to be completely wiped of any trace of Frisk. Not only was Frisk’s body gone, their mind, heart, and SOUL were eradicated across every timeline.

Ness let out a sigh of relief as he floated back towards the ground. Ness’s feet touched the snowy ground as a dagger impaled itself in the ground. Ness walked across the field and opened another PSI Teleport. He had to get back to baseball practice.

Ness VS Frisk K

KO

Post-Analysis[]

(Cues: Pollyanna/I Believe in You (Reprise) - Mother)

Boomstick: Aw, now why do you have to hurt my soul like that?!

Wiz: This was an incredibly complex matchup with multiple factors playing into it. However, Ness just simply had what was needed to take home the victory.

Boomstick: For starters, Ness had attack potency down pat. Frisk had an incredibly powerful feat with harming Omega Flowey, who was able to create a countless amount of timelines. However, if you compare it to Ness’s 5th-Dimensional Omnipresence, you can sort of see how it doesn’t exactly stack up. Even if you take into account physical feats, Ness defeating enemies that can create huge thunderstorms easily outclasses Frisk’s small building level feat.

Wiz: Speaking of Omnipresence, Ness would essentially be untouchable by Frisk, who at absolute best has shown massively hypersonic reaction speeds. Impressive, although quite literally, nothing compared to Ness.

Boomstick: Ness also had the edge in versatility as well. Frisk held some quite impressive defensive capabilities with all of their techniques, but you can’t exactly defend forever. Meanwhile, Ness not only had some incredibly powerful defenses, but some excellent offensive techniques as well. His various AOE attacks such as PK Starstorm, elemental abilities like PK Fire or Freeze, and sheer power output of attacks like PK Rockin.’ proved immensely difficult for Frisk to stand up to.

Wiz: But here’s where it gets very tricky. Frisk could essentially time travel back and forth with SAVE and RELOAD. Many of you may be asking, exactly how would Ness be able to achieve victory?

Boomstick: Well, for one, Ness has had experience with beings that can attack through space and time. Giygas literally was able to attack the present from the desolate future that Giygas had created 20 years later.

Wiz: Plus, Ness has been able to harm intangible beings such as ghosts before. There is no reason that Ness should not be able to directly attack Frisk’s SOUL.

Boomstick: Frisk also had absolutely no way to defend against Ness’s insane fate manipulation, which could realistically obliterate any chance Frisk had of winning, as Ness’s fate manipulation is on a Fifth-Dimensional scale as well. And even if Ness couldn’t do any of this (which he could), he could just as easily incapacitate Frisk with his immensely superior stats in comparison.

Wiz: Frisk did have the superior edge in weaponry with all of their different equipment, but it hardly matters considering Ness’s PSI is on a completely different scale from the events happening in Undertale. Ultimately, while Frisk's DETERMINATION could keep them from dying for a while, Ness having 5th Dimensional Omnipresence plus his insane fate manipulation could easily come up with some sort of direct counter to Frisk's DETERMINATION. If the Truth can rewrite fate on a 5th Dimensional scale, stopping Frisk's DETERMINATION would be trivial.

D.U.M.M.I.: I wish I was on the receiving side end of these PSI abilities. That way my suffering could finally end.

Wiz: Maybe later. Overall, this was not a complete stomp in Ness’s favor; Frisk did stand a decent chance against Ness. However, Ness possessed the strength, hax and the overall experience to win against the Fallen Child.

Boomstick: Frisk sure put in the DETERMINATION, but in the end, Ness just had to go ahead and steal his PK Thunder.

Wiz: The winner is Ness.

Ness victory

Trivia[]

  • This fight isn't even Sharaku's preferred Ness matchup; it's Ness VS Isaac.
  • This fight was probably one of the fastest times Sharaku has written a fight.
  • This fight is dedicated to a huge Undertale fan, and a acquaintance of Sharaku's, Hyperstarman.
  • I think this fight is probably the best one I've written as of now.

Ness Vs. Frisk is Season 1, Episode 13 of ThunerStar20's Death Battles, pitting Ness from the game Earthbound against Frisk from the game Undertale

Description[]

Earthbound Vs. Undertale! Two godly kids from RPG fame enter the ring!

Interlude[]

Metroid: Ness, one of the Chosen Four to slay Giygas.

Thunder: And Frisk, the child fell into the Underground!

Metroid: RPG are a uniqye gameplay genre, but these two have their own twists that truly make them stand out.

Thunder: Helps they're also godly powerful, and pacifistic! ...most of the timne. He's Metroid and I'm Thunder!

Metroid: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Ness is chosen for DEATH BATTLE![]

Metroid: In a calm town of Onett, in Eagleland, in the year 20XX, there was a peaceful family living in the suburbs. In this family lived a young and peaceful boy named Ness.

BACKGROUND:

Age: 13

Favorite Food: Steak

Favorite Thing: Rockin'

Loves Baseball, Comics

May have taken burgers out of trash cans to eat

Casually gets 10,000+ dollara from his dad every now and then

Thunder: Ness was your average kid, he likes baseball, loves rockin, all that jazz. All he really did was live a simple average life with his mom, sister and dog. But he wouldn't be on the show if he was just an average joe, right?

Metroid: Indeed. On one faithful night, a meteroite suddenly crashed into a hilltop near his house. Upon investigating, he and his friend Pokey found out that this was no ordinary meteroite.

Thunder: Turns out this meteroite had a weird bug named Buzz Buzz, who gave Ness a message; turns out that years in the future, a eldrich monster named Giygas brings ruin to the universe, and Ness and three other kids are in some prophecy to stop him! That's definitely ONE way to start your teenage years!

Metroid: But before Buzz Buzz could aid any futher, Pokey's mom...killed him, but with his dying breath, Buzz Buzz told Ness of eight places called "Your Sancturary", areas in earth that will empower him upon reaching them.

Thunder: With all that on him, Ness set off on his adventure after his mom gave him a steak meal, and uh...she's surprisingly supportive of Ness running off. Guess he doesn't lie to her and she trusts him alot.

Metroid: Ness, despite his lack of combat experience, soon found he was good at holding his own; with nothing but a cracked baseball bat, he took down an entire gang, even taking down an entire tank. But later Ness does get a legendary Baseball bat, along with a combat yo-yo and a bionic slingshot.

Thunder: But toys weren't enough if Ness was gonna save the universe, and luckily Ness wasn't too average; he knows PSI powers, which he actually had to some degree when he just a baby!

Metroid: PSI is interesting; it's basically psychic powers Ness utilizes in battle for many different effects; PSI Lifeup heals any wounds he may have endured in battle, and PSI Healing can heal status effects such as poison or colds, even reviving downed allies or undoing numbness or diamonization with the stronger variations. Lifeup even is described as if Ness was a toy getting new batteries, being energized once more.

Thunder: But what's better than healing from damage? NOT taking damage at all! Ness has PSI Shield, which covers him in a psychic shield to lessen, or even straight up STOP damage! He can teleport as long as he gets a running start AND doesn't crash into any obstacles. He can force ya to sleep with Hypnosis or make em so numb they can't move via Paralysis!

Metroid: That's not all; he knows PSI Flash; an attack that generates a flash of light that has a broad range of effects; it can cause numbness, make a foe feel strange to the point they could harm their allies or even themselves, cry so uncontrollably they cannot see, or even instantly defeat them. But if he needs to absolutely sure his opponents go down, he can use PSI Rockin', which the book describes as a 150 miles per hour fastball that represents the pure manifestation of his soul. Although the game shows more of flash of shapes and colors.

Thunder: Ness has limited PSI, though, and too much of the stronger ones can leave him drained of PP. Heh...but, he's got some items that can help him balance that out, like the Teddy Bear; which he basically uses as a shield! He's got a pair of socks so stinky they make foes pause for a bit due to the smell alone! He can brush his teeth to make opponents freeze from how shiny they are, and a Bag of Dragonite that when poured on him, turns him into a fucking dragon and burns up his foes!

Metroid: Ness has Bombs and even Super Bombs, Handbag Straps that, when used as a whip, causes opponents to freeze up in injury, incticide sprays to deal with insect, rust promoters to spray rust, mummy wrap that freezes opponents upon striking, and a stag beetle that causes opponents to freeze up when thrown at the them, and snakes.

Thunder: Yeah...Ness just has snakes on him. From normal snakes to a bag of them, even vipers, Ness can use 'em to have em bite the foe, with a chance at poisoning them! But of all his items, Ness has the Franklin Badge as one of his biggest ones!

Metroid: The Franklin Badge is a badge given to him by Paula just before he fought Mr. Carpenter. When worn, it can deflect any electric or lightning based attacks. In the manga, Ness even uses it manually, meaning he has lightning fast reflexes.

Thunder: Think THAT'S crazy? Turns out, Ness WASN'T fighting actual evil folks; they were manipulated by Mani Mani Statues, things that show what power a person can have WITHOUT bullshitting them, and Ness had to fight ALOT. People possessed by that, and even Giygas attacking through time via using influence to make the wildlife act up! And he also fought...coffe cups...and clocks...and giant piles of puke...and worst of all...RETRO HIPPIES.

Metroid: But when Ness got to all eight "Your Sancturaries", he passed out and found himself inside Magicant, a dimension within his mind. Seeing all the good and bad aspects of himself, along with beating the evil in his mind, Ness absorbed Magicant and gained a MASSIVE stat increase. Keep in mind this came from Mani Mani statue in his mind. In the novelization, Ness unleashed an incredible burst of power that makes a bang; in this alternative dimension, in the words of the novel, "the sun exploded, the earth trembled as blood spewed from the group of older kids. Thick and eerie black clouds swirled into a vortex, and thunder rang out high and low through the atmosphere that boiled like a witches cauldron, as lightning lashed out, like heavenly whips, and violently struck the old schoolhouse. The windowpanes shattered, the classrooms crumbled soundly, and people fell to the ground. The children throughout all the playground were struck by whirlwinds as sharp as knives. There was a child who's hands and feet were sliced off by overwealming force.".

Thunder: ....Holy shit. I get we needed some feats outside of the upcoming one, but that's just fucked up....Nintendo really ain't all too kid friendly.

Metroid: Sorry, we just needed a way to describe one instance of Ness's power...

Thunder: W-Well, Ness also later fights Giygas, who as we said, was gonna bring ruin to the universe. But absorbing Magicant was probably the best strength feat, since it has the Truth of the Universe in it.

Metroid: The Truth is said to travel space-time "like a grain and wave", likely existing as a wave function due to exhibiting wave-particle duality, existing in all possible states like a wave before being observed. In addition to that, The Truth of the Universe presumably had some form of contribution to the EarthBound's Cosmology, which has 5 dimensions. After beating the Mani Mani Statue in his mind, Ness was able to touch and comprehend the Truth of the Universe in order to fight Giygas, putting him as Complex Levels of power.

Thunder: And in doing so he actually became APART of space and time itself! Screw lightning fast reflexes, Ness is anywhere at anypoint at anytime with that!

Metroid: Not only that, Ness has an uncanny ability to just...fight on instinct. No thoughts, but fighting without second guessing even if he doesn't want it. But most importantly...Ness can twist fate passively.

Thunder: We're not shitting you; Ness's fight against Giygas is pre-determined, so he's fated to keep to stop him no matter what. Whenever Ness gets a game over, that's actually the truth of the universe turning his death into nothing but a bad dream, giving him an advantage when he tries again! And when it came to fighting Giygas, he only had 1% chance of winning...and won anyway! Oh and since he beat Giygas in the past, Ness isn't really affected by timeline changes.

Metroid: With Giygas barely beaten, Ness and his friends went home to live regular lives once more. In the end, Ness really showed he was right to be chosen.

Hey me! I found my cap that you lost.

Frisk resets DEATH BATTLE![]

Metroid: Many, many years ago, humans and monsters lived in harmony. But then a war occurred on both sides, and in the end the monsters were defeated. As a result, they were banished to Mt. Ebott, and sealed away with a barrier, where they believed they would spend the rest of their lives.

Thunder: Then suddenly, a child fell from the high point, many years later. Their name was Chara, and the royals of the Underground basically accepted them as their own, especially Asriel, who was now their brother! All was well...until Chara got sick and died.

Metroid: With her final request ro be taken to her home village, Asriel asorbed her soul to cross the barrier. However, upon arrival, the villagers believed Chara was killed by Asriel, and so attacked. The Prince could have easily killed them all, but chose not to. As a result he returned home, and soon enough...he died.

Thunder: This uh, caused a lot of trouble for the underground. Especially the King, who declared that they'll gather seven human souls to break the barrier and wipe out humanity! The Queen didn't approve, so she leave her role and into the ruins.

Metroid: And this plan was indeed set into motion; as any child that fell into Mt. Ebott the same way Chara did were instead killed and had their souls harvested. And eventually, they were able to acquire six. All they needed was one more...and soon that child came; and their name was Frisk.

BACKGROUND

Name: Frisk

Gender: Unknown

Either Pure Good or Pure Evil

Has probably the best poker face one could have

Likes Buttersotch or Cinnamon Pie

"Expert at puzzles"

Either a monster ambassador or monster slayer

May or may not have taken more than one monster candy

Thunder: When Frisk took a tumble into the underground, he first met a talking flower named Flowey. After a pretty bad meeting, the kid was taken in by Toriel! Now usually we'd be able to break this down easily, but Undertale's canon is weird.

Metroid: There are three poosible routes Frisk can take, they can choose to befriend everyone in the underground and be the most peaceful was one could be, kill a few and spare a few, or murder every last one of the monsters leaving no one alive. Now, at first, ypu may think there's a specific canon route, but surprisingly there were no; due to Frisk's determination.

Thunder: Being a determined bastard ain't just for Frisk to keep pushing on, it allows them to do ALOT. Like reducing damage by holding onto hope, or gain more items in their inventory just by thinking! And can break the laws of the game by taking way more damage than they should!

Metroid: And whenever Frisk fights, their SOUL comes out. The SOUL is the very clumination of one's being. Human souls are far stronger than monster souls, as the entire population of the underground would be needed to match the power of one human soul. WHich is impressive since some monsters, like Undyne, can suplex boulders.

Thunder: Also Frisk's got more charm than Optimus Prime making a speech; they can talk down people people or even flirt with them to get them to stop fighting them, even those hellbent on killing their ass!But if mercy is really a no no, Frisk'll have weapons on deck.

Metroid: They usually start with a stick, but it is immeidately discarded for a Toy Knife. Other weapons include the Tough Glove, allowing Frisk to deal a flurry of punches, or the Ballet Shoes letting Frisk to kicking strikes instead. With a torn notenook, Frisk not only attacks with it, but also gains access to an invulnerablity state after taking damage for a short timeframe.

Thunder: With a Burnt Pan, Frisk's healing items get better at healing. With an Empty Gun, Frisk fires....stars? And depending on the route they either get a worn dagger or a real knife for their final weapon! They can use Faded Ribbons, Manly Bandanas, and Old Tutus to increase their defense, and when they wanna look nerfy, theu can wear CLoudy Glasses to increase defense AND be invulnerable for a bit after getting hit!

Metroid: There's the Temmie Armor, which heals Frisk every now and then, raises their attack power, and even has the effect as the cloudy glasses. The Stained Apron heals them over time, but onky minorly, and the Cowboy Hat increases their attack power and just like the worn dagger or real knife, the final defense item is a heart locket or a BFF Locket.

Thunder: And Frisk even has a phone that can turn into a jetpack, defuse bombs, or even become a minigun!

Metroid: But frankly, all of this is lesser compared to Frisk's greatest asset; their determination. Because of their ability to push themselves and be, well, determined, Frisk can outright ingore their own mortality and respawn at an earlier point in time. They can even refused to die right then and there as their soul can even form back together if their determination is high enough. It even allowed them to shrug off an attack that destroyed the timeline without a scratch.

Thunder: I mean, this kid has dodged lightning and took stars to the face no problem! But there's a scary part to Frisk; you know that Chara kid? Yeah, with a just mere one attack, she can destroy everything, forcing a reset if Frisk wants to keep goin'!

Metroid: Still, this may be what makes Frisk so dangerous; in three outcomes, they escape, kill all monsters, or even free them all.

Thunder: Don't underestimate this neutral faced child!

"Despite everything...it's still you."

Prelude[]

Metroid: Alright, the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilites.

Thunder: It's time for a Death Battle!

Pre-Fight[]

The Judgement Hall. The final area before moving to Asgore. Depending on what happened prior to arrival, the situation would usually be calm and relaxing.

But Frisk chose the Dark Path. They chose to Genocide all the monsters they could find, leaving a dust-filled wasteland. Upon entering, Frisk kept moving forth, before seeing the figure across the hall.

Sans.

Usually, Sans would give a long speech at first, but Frisk had been restarting Genocides over and over, tiring the poor skeleton heavily. With a heavy sigh, Sans spoke.

"let's just get to the point."

Frisk's vision swapped to a familiar layout, as Sans began his sentence. "it's a beautiful day outside. birds are singing, flowers are blooming...on days like these, kids like you..."

Sans's puplis disappeared as Frisk gripped the knife in their hand.

"...SHOULD BE BURNING IN HELL."

Meanwhile, back at the top, the Chosen Four, Poo, Jeff, Paula, and Ness, made their arrival. "Ness, is this the place?" Poo questioned, with Ness nodding. "Yeah, it is. I just have this nagging feeling something bad is going to happen here. It could be related to Pokey's letter."

"Well, I've seen what happens when you have a sudden feeling, so I'm trusting you." Jeff said, Ness smiling before continuing his walk. "Alright, just need to make a--"

Ness's foot got caught on a vine and he yelped as he got flung forth. "NESS!" Paula cried, and tried to catch his hand, but barely missed, Ness tumbling into the hole.

Luckily, Ness was able to catch himself, and landed safely on the flowerbed. "Well...guess I'l take a look myself."

Walking through the Underground, Ness noticed the area was extremely...abandoned. He couldn't find single soul, and dust was all over the place. When he made it to Snowdin, all he saw was a small sign on a store.

"Please don't hurt my family."

Feeling an extreme sense of unease, Ness put the sign down and began to run, wanting to see where everyone could have gone. But no matter where he went, it all seemed...empty.

...Almost as if everyone was already dead.

Eventually Ness found himself facing a tall building with the lights on. Entering, he found himself in a lobby with a fountain of a robot, with some noises from a room. Entering, he found a cat in a resturant outfit.

"Hey, um, do you know where everyone else is?" Ness questioned, but Burgerpants, the cat, just sighed. "Listen kid, I just sit here waiting for customers. But outside one freak, I haven't gotten a single one."

"One freak...do you know where they went?" Ness questioned, but Burgerpants sighed. "Hey little dude, I recommend you skedaddle...but I'm not a cop, so do whatever."

Seeing that's all he'll be getting in terms of info, Ness sighed as he walked away...before turning around and asking "By the way, how much is that steak?"

"You got any G?"

"....Can Dollars work?"

Luckily, Burgerpants didn't really care, and took payment for the steak in the shape of Mettaton's face. Saying a goodbye, Ness ran off to continue his search.

After awhile, Ness made it to the Judgement Hall. Entering in curiousity, Ness saw Frisk and Sans fighting. Ness was concerned, but then sensed something...

Sans was sweating and looked genuinely worried. Frisk, on the other hand, had an murderous aura.

It didn't tae a genius for Ness to realize Frisk was the bad guy here. Sans dodged a sudden attack, and grinned at Frisk. "did you really think i'd--"

Another knife swing came.

...It struck against wood.

Both Sans and Frisk were startled, as Ness made a sudden move to block the strike with his bat. "You alright?" Ness asked Sans, who took a second beforw grinning.

"...heh. i seem to attract a weird demographic..." Sans commented. "well..yeah. i'm fine. but i think the kid in front of you isn't too happy you stopped their kill."

"Don't worry, I'll handle this! Can you move?" Ness asked, as Sans shakingly stood. "welp. guess i can. just uh, be careful kid." Quickly taking a shortcut, Sans was gone and Ness took his bat closer to his face. "I don't know what you did to this place, but I'm sure it isn't any good."

Seeing Ness with his bat at ready made Frisk their toy knife tighter. If they couldn't kill Sans...this other human would have to do. But first...

Frisk saved.

Fight[]

(Battle Against an Otherworldly Foe - Earthbound Remix)

Frisk was quick to try and strike again, swinging their toy knife with intense might. Ness was quick to jump back, and then he made his move; swinging the Legendary Bat into Frisk's cheek and sending them back.

Frisk was quick to get up, but found that their health had taken quite a blow; clearly the kid in front of them was no mere child...

Ness ran up and performed another swing of the bat, but Frisk dodged this time, and went for a swing themselves, but Ness took the blow like a champ, and went for another swing.

This time, Frisk aimed to swipe at Ness's bat, hoping to disarm him, but Ness rolled to the left and held his hand out. "PSI Rockin'!"

Out came a fastball like projectile that Frisk barely dodged, the attack blowing apart a wall in the Judgement Hall. Frisk took a moment to process what they saw; did a human just use magic?

Seeing Frisk not moving, Ness ran in, lifted his bat, and slammed it into Frisk's head hard enough to crack it--

CRACK!

GAME OVER

You cannot give up yet...

Frisk! Stay determined!

(Undertale - Enemy Approaching Remix)

Suddenly, Frisk and Ness found themselves just before the fight started ""I don't know what you did to this place, but-- wait..." Ness looked around in confusion. "Weren't we just--"

Before Ness could completely process everything around him, he was struck in the stomach as Frisk chose to now equip the Tough Gloves, striking Ness across the face before doing a haymaker to send the baseball fan across the hall.

Holding his sore cheek, Ness stood up to see Frisk coming for him with another strike, and the Chosen One quickly went for another swing of the bat, just for Frisk to block it with their fist.

Falling with a confused "Huh?", Ness turned around to recieve another punch to the side. Ness slid back, but leaped forth to swing his bat ince more.

Frisk held out their hands to push Ness up, but hr charged back down to slam his bat into Frisk, but the Fallen Child sidestepped and punched...nothing, as Ness had leaped back and dodged another strike from the child.

Sadly his evasion didn't last too long, as Ness soon found himself being sucker punched in the chest then uppercutted. Letting a loud cry of shock, Ness was swift to regain balance midair and land safely, before digging through his bag.

Looking up to see Frisk closing the distance, Ness pulled out what he was looking for; a pair of dirty socks. With a mighty throw, the unwashed footwear hit a bullseye onto Frisk's face, making them pause for one thing...that dear god awful smell!

It was so bad that Frisk forgot they were in a fight, and needed a moment breathe fresh air. But that was what Ness exactly wanted, as the second Frisk let their guard down, Ness pulled out a slingshot and hit Frisk in the back of the head before running forth with his bat.

He first hit Frisk in the back, before spinning around and hitting Frisk in the head. Before long , Ness swung down to slam Frisk off the ground, then reeled back, struck with all his might...

SMAAAAASH!!!

The force was more than enough to kill Frisk again...but just like before Ness found himself standing a bit away from Frisk just as he did before.

"Again? This can't be some mind trick, are you...?" Before Ness could speak, Frisk pulled out a Brunt Pan.

"Alright, enough messing around, what are you doing?!" Ness called out, but Frisk just tightly gripped their pan. Frowning, Ness ran up and leaped, spinning while swinging his bat as hard as he could.

But Frisk just swung at the bat, making Ness spin through the air before he was launched away with a hard enough hit to the noggin, sending him through Judgement Hall's windows and out onto the dusty outside.

Once he got up, Ness fell into a massive coughing fit from all the dust, and took a second to catch his breath. This was more than enough time for Frisk to follow, wearing Ballet Shoes to go with the Brunt Pan.

Ness was quick to dodge the brunt pan's swing but not the kick to his back, the heel of the Ballet Shoes digging into his back and making him hit the floor. Groaning, Ness saw another pan swing, and rolled to avoid damage.

When the next swing came, Ness pulled out his bar against and blocked it, resulting in a brief power struggle that was ultimately ended when Ness dug into his bag and pulled out a snake, letting it bite Frisk to make them flinch long enough for Ness to punch them twice, them strike with his bat, sending right into the evelator door.

Frisk looked at Ness approaching fast, and quickly did a flurry of kicks, knocking Ness back and nearly sending him off the ledge. "Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Ness yelped as Frisk made their move to hit him off.

Thinking fast, Ness put out his fingers. "PSI Paralysis; Alpha!" He cried, as Frisk almost immediately found themselves unable to move. With a surge of strength, Ness held out both hands...

"PSI Rockin'; Beta!" With those words, a fastball of pure energy emerged out of him and slammed into the helpless Frisk, shaking the entire area and obliterating their body!

But just like before, Ness found himself at the start of the battle with Frisk. Frisk decided to equip the Temmie Armor, and the Torn Notebook, before looking to Ness..who was in thought.

'...I think I get it now. Everytime I manage to beat you, you somehow rewind us to beginning of the battle." Ness deduced, with Frisk notably emoting a slight bit in surprise. "You were waiting for me to slip up, weren't you? I'm not letting it happen!"

Rushing forward, Ness swung his bat at Frisk, who ducked before smacking Ness across the face with the Torn Notebook a few times before Ness pushed back, and slammed his bat against their head! ...But surprisingly enough, Frisk didn't even flinch. "What the?" Ness questioned, before another smack staggered him, forcing him back as Frisk kept going.

But Ness was more than ready, pulling out a toothbrush, Ness brushed his teeth vigorously before facing Frisk and grinning as wildly as a giant shine of light came out, making Frisk change tactics from attack to evasion. With Frisk running, Ness proceeded to spin around after them. Both were spinning in a circle constantly, until Ness suddenly...vanished?

After a bit, Frisk looked around. Did the boy die? Or somehow vanish? They were answered when Ness suddenly reappeared in front of them, and before they could react, he pointed at them again and yelled out, "PSI Hypnosis!" The baseball fan's attack suddenly made Frisk...fall asleep?

"Alright, bingo! Time for the finish!" Ness landed in front of the napping Frisk, and pulled his bat out. With a mighty swing, the bat struck so hard, the wall of the Judgement was DEMOLISHED!

Ness watched as Frisk flew back, the SOUL split in half...at least, until...

....But it refused.

Ness watched in shock as Frisk stood back up looking pretty pissed at this point. "This...thing can just revive itself?" Ness questioned in shock, before seeing Frisk pull out a phone. Not long after, Ness found himself suddenly dodging bullets coming at him from a phone, of all things.

Turning around, Ness saw Frisk approaching and yelled out "PSI Flash; Beta!" A flash of light bursted out, and Ness saw Frisk get completely obliterated...just for them to reform their body and charge again. Afterwards, Frisk pulled out thr Empty Gun...and despite it being empty, Frisk got up close, and fired at point blank!

"PSI SHIELD; ALPHA!" Ness cried out, a psychic shield appearing over his body and nullified the damage he would have otherwise taken. Pulling out the combat yo-yo, Ness swung at Frisk, who rolled out of the way.

Ness was quick to pull out a bomb, and threw it directly at Frisk, who's only response was to pull out their phone, aim it at the bomb...then it defused.

"Huh. That's useful, actually..." Ness noted, before Frisk used the jetpack option on the phone to blast forth towards Ness.

"PSI Shiel-" Ness attempted to put another psychic shield over himself, but Frisk tackled him before he could, dragging them with them and flying across the ruined hall before Ness was shot in the head by the Empty Gun's projectile.

Luckily for Ness he was tougher than any normal child, so he merely was sent tumbling until he hit the far wall of hall, near the entrance to where Asgore would be met. Groaning a bit, Ness fixed his hat, before looking up and seeing Frisk getting closer on the phone's jetpack function.

Ness frowned, and pulled out another item the bag; both a viper and a snake bag. He threw them ou, all the snakes about to bite Frisk...but Frisk suddenly equipped the Real Knife and slashed through the snakes, the blood splattering against him.

"W-What the--" Ness spoke, but ended up with Frisk slamming into the wall again, and as a result, Frisk lifted the knife, and swung down onto Ness..

..."GAH!"

Ness managed to headbutt Frisk away last second, but the knife still made a bad cut to hus shoulder, making some drip as he clutched the wound. Thinking fast, Ness pulled out another item.

Before Frisk could do more, Ness used a Bag of Dragonite, and transformed into a giant dragon right before Frisk's eyes! Before long, Ness breathed a large stream of fire at Frisk!

But with the Temmie Armor, Frisk was invulnerable due to Ness's earlier headbutt. With a lunge, they went through the fire and was ready to stab Ness in the stomach!

...Until they noticed something odd...Ness's soul was...detatching from his boy. Did the boy overexert himself and die?

...No. As Ness was one with the timeline, Ness was looking through the timeline from an outsider's point of view. "Alright, there was to be a point where they aren't able to just to just revive or reset this battle, but when?" Ness wonder, before notcing the timeline...changing.

Frisk would be killing all the monsters, and Ness could see these weren't mindless beasts; but living beings with terror upon death. It would sometimes change with Frisk saving them, or killing only some.

Seeing this, Ness grew disgusted, before spotting the jackpot; the point before Frisk made their first ever save. "Okay..." Ness muttered, charging towards it with all his might...

Frisk was approaching Mt. Ebott, and was approaching where the hole was. But before they could trip in, Ness suddenly appeared, blasting forth and yelling out "PSI Rockin'; Gamma!!"

The energy burstv hit Frisk and shook the entire mountain, and Frisk was obliterated completely. Ness let out a massive sigh of relief, but stood up to look around if Frisk was gonna revive somehow. But, since this was before the first ever save, Frisk was dead. Permanently.

With a sigh of relief, Ness muttered "Lifeup" to heal his slash wound on the shoulder, and was ready to go...until suddenly everything around him went dark. "Huh? Is it nighttime or...?"

(Giygas Battle - Earthbound)

"Greetings." Hearing a voice behind him, Ness turned around to see another child, one in green clothes. "My name is Chara. Thank you. Your power awakened me from death. Your determination...it's greater than the one you slayed."

Getting a bit uneasy, Ness replied. "What's your point? What do you want with me?" Chara was silent for a second, before replying "I want you to be my partner, and for us to erase this pointless world and move on to the next."

"WHAT?!" Ness yelled, before immediately yelling "No! I'm not gonna help you destroy the universe!" Chara stared quietly, before saying "No...? Hmm. How curious. You must have misunderstood."

Their eyes turned beady.

"SINCE WHEN WERE YOU THE ONE IN CONTROL?" Suddenly, Ness saw them charge at him, face looking melty and making an ungodly noise. Ness began yelling "PSI Shield; Beta!" Over and over, as Chara got close, and once they struck...

...The psychic shield took all the blow, as Ness then quickly said "PSI Flash; Gamma!", the flash of light making Chara feel strange. Trying to attempt to attack Ness against, Chara lunged...and for some reason, struck themselves. With Chara on the floor, Ness leaped up, and began flowing with power. "PSI...." The energy made the entire mountain shake. "ROCKIN'..." and wit that, Ness thrusted his hands out.

"OMMEEEEEEGGAAAA!!!!"

The fastball struck Chara, and made the entire mountain was still...until it exploded , leaving the monsters inside shocked at the sudden appearance of the outside world. As for Chara...they were gone, having met the same fate as Frisk. With a heavy sigh, Ness with back to the present point, where he met with his friends.

"Ness!" Paula cried, hugging him as Poo went to heal Ness further. "What happened Ness? Are you alright?" Jeff stepped forward to ask as well. "The mountain just disappeared out of the blue. Did something happen down there?" With a relieved sighed, Ness responded.

"Let's go to a hotel first. I'll tell you guys there."

Results[]

Thunder: That...was awesome, holy shit!

Metroid: To be honest this fight was only really ending one way. Frisk may have been able to match Knight Knight, who's meteors were calced at 51 tons of tnt. Impressive, but considering Ness's power up from absorbing Magicant puts him at Low Compelx Multiversal levels of power, givng him a immense lead in strength.

Thunder: Sure, in durability Frisk was better, taking hits from Omega Flowey and Asriel, who can destroy the timeline, but Ness can take his own attacks ton the face and emerge out with minor injuries, so he still had an advantage there! And hell, even if Frisk could react to lightning, Ness can do the same!

Metroid: Plus, Ness, upon absorbung Magicant, was one with the universe and space and time. This basically meant he was omnipresent, being anywhere, at any point at anytime, effortlessly blowing Frisk's speed out of the water. It also helps Ness was more skilled in combat, as he actually fights tough foes while Frisk fights foes that usuallt go down in a few hits, with few exceptions.

Thunder: And when it came to weapons, Ness also had Frisk beat! He's got baseball bats, skingshots, bombs, snakes, and a friggin' powder that turns him into a dragon! While Frisk only really has close ranged weapons and a phone that shoots.

Metroid: ANd if Ness took damage, Lifeup would easily heal any wound Frisk gave him, if he even could, considering Ness could easily shield himself with PSI Shield, and Frisk's healing options only healed minorly. But the big question is if Ness couuld find a way around Frisk's resetting ability. And the answer was surprisingly, yes.

Thunder: Ness is unaffected by changes to timelines, so when Frisk resets, Ness would easily catch on and start attempting to find a counter attack. And since he was omnipresent, Ness could head honestly head to any point if he wanted!

Metroid: Like, for example, before Frisk's first ever save. With that, Ness had a way to permanently kill Frisk. And while determination could theoretically allow Frisk to hit harder than ever, Ness seemingly had far more determination than him, fi we're being honest.

Thunder: This is the same kid who willingly had his soul extracted into a robot just fight a eldritch monster in the past, who he had 1% of actually beating in a fight. And when someone is more determined in Undertale, they coukd cancel out the effects of the other one's determination!

Metroid: But most importantly was that Ness's passive fate manipulation was far greater than anything Frisk had dealt with before. Not only will it turn any of Ness's deaths into bad dreams, but as Thunder mentioned, it allowed him to win a fight that he had minimal chance of winning. No matter what Frisk, or even Chara, as it would catch him offguard most likely, Ness was just too....godly overpowered.

Thunder: Frisk took a huge risk fighting Ness, but Ness wasn't about to let it PSI.

Metroid: The winner is Ness.

Ness (Winner):

+ Far, FAR stronger

+ Way more faster

+ Way more durable

+ Way more experienced

+ Fate Manip was far greater than Determination

+ Far better weaponry

+ Better defensive and healing options

+ Arguably more determined

+ Omnipresence means he could kill Frisk before the first save

- Determination will be a small obstacle at first

- Determination could lead to him getting hit harder than before

- Chara may throw Ness off

Frisk (Loser):

+ Determination and saves allow them to have an advantage at first

+ Could POSSIBLY hit harder than ever via determination

+ Chara may catch Ness offguard

-Far weaker

-Far slower

-Far less durable

-Way less experienced

-Had no way around fate manipulation

-Not as crazy in weapons

-Not as good healing options

-Could get out determined

-Couldn't protect themself from Omnipresence

Next Time[]

Metroid: Have you ever wondered what the future may be like?

Thunder: Well these two show it may involve a lot of water.
