Resident Evil vs Dead Rising! The undead are running amok, zombies are everywhere killing and eating innocents. But in some outbreaks, your run of the mill zombies aren't the biggest threat out there. Who will prevail in a battle between mutant killing machine and intelligent super zombie?

Introduction[]

Silver: Zombies. The undead. In an apocalypse overrun by decaying monstrosities of human remains, it can be quite hard just trying to survive.

Maverick: Then the big mutant guys hit you like a truck, and suddenly zombies and rogue humans aren't the biggest threats out there anymore.

Nemesis Intro (SilverRangers1872)

Nemesis, the Umbrella Corporation's experimental S.T.A.R.S hunting mutant.

Calder Intro (SilverRangers1872)

And Calder, the evolved zombie lance corporal of Dead Rising 4.

Maverick: Because it's nearly Christmas, so why not return with a specially themed episode!? He's Silver and I'm Maverick!

Silver: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armour and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle!

Nemesis T-Type[]

Silver: The Umbrella Corporation had a problem. In their attempts to manufacture Bio Organic Weaponry for the United States military, so they could bring in the funding for their own eugenics program, Umbrella had hit a brick wall.

Maverick: Because it wouldn't be right to unleash uncontrollable B.O.W. monsters onto the battlefield, Umbrella decided to go back to the drawing board and told their European and American branches to get to work on creating intelligent mutant super soldiers, and fulfill the company's main goal.

Silver: The American branch located in the labs of the Arklay mountains worked on the Tyrant Project, designed to form the existence of human mutations that retained their intelligence. However, all the way in Paris, France Umbrella Europe got to work on a project that was bound to blow U.S.A. out of the water. This was... the Nemesis Project!

Maverick: Project Nemesis was different from the Tyrant Project. Instead of taking a random person and making them an inhumane monstrosity of nature, the Nemesis Project sought to implant parasites that would take over the brains of a B.O.W. and turn them into killing machines.

Silver: However, both of the corporations' ongoing projects were near fruitless, key term being near. While the Tyrant Project and the Nemesis Project either lacked results or failed due to the deaths of their test subjects, there was one monster that survived.

Maverick: And the Nemesis Project was the winner, as Umbrella Europe were able to create one of the deadliest motherf**kers around: Nemesis T-Type. But please, just call him the Nemesis!

Background

The Nemesis T-Type

Created by the European branch of the Umbrella Corporation

Otherwise known as the Pursuer

Has fought Spider-Man and Mike Haggar

Hates S.T.A.R.S.

Silver: Otherwise known as the Pursuer, the finalised Nemesis creature was unleashed onto Raccoon City by Umbrella Europe on the eve of the news that an outbreak of the T-Virus had emerged there. Umbrella, clearly pissed off by the events that happened in the Spencer Mansion that resulted in the destruction of their T-002 prototype, programmed Nemesis with only one objective: kill the S.T.A.R.S members that were there on the night of the mansion outbreak.

Maverick: Heh heh, good luck with that one pal. Pretty much all of the S.T.A.R.S members had long since gotten the f**k out of there or had already been killed by the undead in that eerie house.

Silver: Well, all except two. Alright so maybe just one, Brad isn't really important as he wasn't the one to take on the Nemesis face to face. He became a zombie, for anyone wondering. Instead I'm referring to Jill Valentine, who ended the monster with a railgun and a city wide nuke courtesy of the U.S. Government.

Maverick: But not before Nemesis gave Jill one good long fight across the entire city, meeting his end in style! See, Nemesis ain't one of your run of the mill mutants, he's actually as much a killing machine as he was made to be.

Powers/Abilities

Rocket Launcher

T-Virus tentacles

Immense strength

Incredible durability

Anti-B.O.W. acid distribution (Third Form)

Silver: That's an understatement, Nemesis comes equipped with a rocket launcher given to him by Umbrella. This appears to be very loosely based on on the FIM-92 Stinger, and it packs enough firepower to down helicopters like any good launcher should. He can also use it in close range, almost like a mace!

Maverick: But that's far from Nemesis' best, because he can attack you with his... tentacles? 'Sigh', can we not go one day without...

Silver: Get your mind out of the gutter, Maverick. Nemesis uses his tentacles as a form of ranged attack, being able to sprout them from anywhere on his body and use them for a variety of attacks. He can grapple objects, throw them around, smash them, impale people, infect them with the T-Virus, you name it.

Maverick: That would probably explain why they're so slimy and gooey, just describing it makes me want to vomit.

Silver: Well, moving on Nemesis also packs a mean melee attack on his own. He's essentially what you would get if you gave someone like Mike Tyson specially engineered performance enhancing drugs, with the setback of turning him into a monster. And physicality is not the only thing Nemesis can brag about.

Maverick: Yeah, that tanky movement of his isn't just a setback, it's a blessing in disguise for the monster. Nemesis is insanely durable, to the point that he's virtually invincible to anything that isn't a Rail Cannon or, y'know, a fricken' nuke!

Silver: But even if Nemesis gets shredded for whatever reason, there's no stopping him from coming back in two other forms. Both are just about as dangerous as each other, with the second being more... "tentacle-y" and the last being an eldritch abomination of a creature.

Maverick: Second form Nemesis isn't anything too special though, the third form is where the horror really lies. When, or rather, if you harm the Pursuer enough, he becomes a pus filled icky creature that can spout acid attacks from various parts of his body!

Silver: And this acid is meant to deal with B.O.W.s just like Nemesis, meaning that this acid's burning is so potent that it can essentially melt you to the bone on immediate contact. The T-Type can either spit this out in precise shots or spray it around the room to make dodging next to impossible!

Pop-Up: While Nemesis can regrow limbs in this form, he needs to devour the remains of a Tyrant to allow further mutation. This is likely non-standard.

Maverick: And remember, this is all his final form. If it's already hard enough getting him down to becoming this mess of a Tyrant, just imagine how strong and durable this mutation is!

Silver: It would help if we went over the Nemesis' accomplishments from it's short period of life. Besides the fact that it can tank nearly any weapon head-on without so much as a scratch, the T-Type has shown that he himself is practically a walking arsenal.

Feats

Strong enough to impale through a human head

Casually shrugged off machine gun and grenade launcher fire

Can tank limited amounts of railgun fire

Regularly manhandles full grown humans

Popular enough to be a recurring character in Marvel vs Capcom

Maverick: I mean, the guy can casually shrug of fire from machine guns, railguns, grenade launchers and everything. He's strong enough to regularly manhandle grown adults, and Nemesis is so powerful that he's capable of impaling through poor Brad's head in one go.

Silver: And that's only the tip of the iceberg. The Nemesis has tanked his own rocket launcher blowing up in his face, and endured an explosion that nearly obliterated a cable car almost as though it was nothing!

Maverick: So he's strong, is nearly unkillable and can easily rip humans apart like a knife through butter!? Hey, if he can handle Mike Haggar and Spider-Man on his own, he's definitely a force to be reckoned with. I mean, he even fought Frank We... hey, wait a minute!

Silver: And that's all without discussing Nemesis' speed. Don't get me wrong, he is a hulking brute. But his reactionary speeds are incredible, he's caught rocket fire from an M202 FLASH, and caught up to a moving subway carriage all on his own.

Maverick: Great, so he's strong, decently fast and is nigh-invincible! Listen, I know we've seen a host of powerful characters on the show before, but I feel more impressed by Nemesis than anything else.

Silver: He's a scientific marvel of a creature, but don't mistake an all-rounder like Nemeis for an unstoppable force. With enough bullets and attacks, the Pursuer can be temporarily subdued. Plus enough firepower, and I really mean enough, can permanently end the threat of the chaser once and for all.

Flaws

Lacks agility, due to his heavy frame

Isn't entirely invincible

Easily predictable

Sluggish compared to human beings

Struggled to kill Jill, his main target

Maverick: But when it takes a literal city destroying firebombing to finally kill you, you know you can't be underestimated by anyone.

Silver: Definitely not. While the Nemesis' development wouldn't be expanded upon further after the destruction of Raccoon City, the monster that perished in the explosion definitely proved that the company were heading on the right track with what they were trying to achieve.

Maverick: Because there'll never be a war ready monster as powerful and as deadly as the infamous Nemesis T-Type!

S.T.A.R.S.!

Lance Corporal Calder[]

Silver: As I'm sure you're aware, South American terrorist Carlito Keyes launched the first zombie outbreak in American history on the small Colorado town of Willamette, back in the September of 2006. Wanting revenge on America for their government's destruction of his hometown, Santa Cabeza, and eliminate the man behind the experiments that occurred there, Dr. Russell Barnaby.

Maverick: You all know about Barnaby's team's goal of artificially manufacturing livestock using the undead creating parasitic wasps known as Queens, but one thing that went unnoticed was another of the doc's experiments. The experiment to find human immortality. For god's sake, Dead Rising 4.

Silver: Having manufactured a chamber that would allow for him to test out the limitations of zombification, Barnaby attempted to connect the infection to immortality. However, Carlito's plan would lure out the professor, killing him and preventing the testing from continuing.

Maverick: And eventually, after other major outbreaks, the zombie infection was cured thanks to Carlito's immune orphan Nick Ramos. Until it wasn't because big bad Obscuris started another infection in Willamette again, hoping to use the outbreak to uncover Barnaby's research.

Silver: And the leader behind this operation was none other than Lance Corporal Calder.

Background

Full Name: Unknown; only known as Calder

Corporal of Obscuris

Responsible for the second Willamette outbreak

Not actually the first intelligent zombie in the Dead Rising series, beaten by zombie Kent in Dead Rising: Chop 'til you Drop

Originally designed as a female Nemesis-esque monster

Maverick: Unlucky Calder here was on a failed mission. His soldiers had been killed and he himself was infected with a new variant of the zombie parasite. Damn, hits too close to home nowadays, doesn't it?

Silver: And upon stumbling into Barnaby's machine, Calder was slowly transformed with his infection clawing at his mind. Emerging from the device, the normally human Calder had become the world's first intelligent zombie, harbouring a hatred for humanity.

Maverick: Apparently becoming a zombie made Calder so insane that he genuinely convinced himself that the humans were a disruption to the "natural order", whatever that means. Fortunately though, a butchered "Hank East" appeared on the scene, clearly not happy with the fact that Barnaby's very important research was in the hands of a psychotic zombie warlord.

Silver: A... bit of an exaggeration, but yeah. Despite his fragile mind, Calder is far from a pushover. It may not seem like much, but being able to fight on par with Frank West is no easy feat, and Calder comes well prepared for the job.

Powers/Abilities

Able to summon and control zombies

Carries the zombie infection

Grenades

Superhuman strength

Exo-Suit

Maverick: Calder is one capable monster, being able to actually control the zombies that swarm Willamette and turn them into makeshift soldiers to do his bidding.

Silver: But these zombies aren't the old zombies that you're probably used to, these zombies are more tougher, faster and agile. These are the 'Evolved Zombies', undead monsters that are capable of spewing acid and catching up to even the fastest of survivors without too much of a challenge.

Maverick: They're basically like zombie Spider-Men too, with the ability to latch on to walls and crawl along them. Hell, the Evos are also so advanced that they're tactically gifted enough to dodge attacks and find their way around pretty much any defence.

Silver: But even with their intelligence and agility, the Evolved Zombies are nowhere near Calder himself. All thanks to the power of Calder's Obscuris Exo-Suit, a body armour very similar to what Frank West himself has made before. Only... minus the ice powers.

Exo-Suit

Military grade exo-skeleton

Charged by electricity

Designed to enhance stamina

Grants superhuman strength

Runs on limited energy

Maverick: Awww, no ice cream? That sucks, damn you Leon and your rocket launcher.

Silver: The Exo-Suit is a high grade military exo-skeleton, that increases Calder's strength and stamina tenfold. It practically makes him into an nearly unstoppable machine, capable of mowing down anything in his path.

Maverick: And all of the electrical visuals you saw from the times Frank equipped one of these Exo-Suits aren't just for show, they actually run on limited power and need recharged through the use of an electrical source. But in Calder's case, it's more than just a fuel source.

Silver: Exactly, as Calder also has the ability to heal his own body using electricity. I... don't understand how that works, but it does.

Pop-Up: Calder's health recharge in Dead Rising 4 is applied to his overall health, not just the durability of his Exo-Suit, so this is in some way tied to his own regenerative abilities.

Maverick: And as a soldier, Calder is trained in hand-to-hand combat. Combine those with his incredible zombie abilities as a result of being one of the evolved, and you've got yourself a pretty capable member of the undead hoarde.

Silver: I would hope so, or rather not. Calder was actually the one behind the 'Second Willamette Incident', hoping to "unmake the chain" by slaughtering as many humans as possible.

Feats

Started the second Willamette outbreak

Fought Frank West to a standstill

Tanked grenades point-blank

Survived attacks from Frank's weapons that can rip apart hoardes of zombies effortlessly

The only Dead Rising character who can control zombies

Maverick: And his feats of strength and speed definitely show that holy crap, this dude is probably the king of all zombies. He's pretty much stronger and tougher than regular, unsuited Frank West, someone who has already survived getting rammed by a helicopter and can freeze over full humans with his weaponry and shatter them in one go.

Silver: Bear in mind, this is also the same Frank that is able to dodge fire from the likes of handguns, sub-machine guns and even all out military grade machine guns, so Calder certainly is as fast as he is strong.

Maverick: And that electrical supercharge of his is no mean feat either. Zombies are known for decayed flesh and weaker organs, so I must ask how in the heck he could survive surges of energy like that!?

Silver: As you should probably know, your body taking a mall plaza's entire electric supply should pretty much kill you without so much as a second thought, so for Calder to survive such high voltage is no doubt impressive. And it should be noted that his Frank West scaling is Frank without the suit.

Maverick: Which makes his fight with Frank even cooler! Goddamn, can anything put this 'Zombie Lord' down!?

Silver: Oh, not much...

Flaws

Mentally broken as a result of his infection

Convinced by his foolish beliefs

Still a human/zombie, and can be put down by normal means

Exo-Suit can be overheated to the point of burning

Burned alive after the above inevitably happened

Silver: ...besides the fact that Calder, as much as he may sound intelligent, is far from it. His mind in severely broken, to the point that he overheated his own Exo-Suit in his battle with Frank. Which eventually killed him.

Maverick: Wow... that's an incredibly lame way to go. At least his opponent had a giant city explosion to go out on, Calder got trial by fire.

Silver: On top of that, it should be noted that despite his fancy suit and enhanced abilities, ultimately Calder is still just a human turned zombie, and logically his body is more frail and easier to rip apart than a healthy person. Just look at what Frank can do to zombies on his worst days.

Maverick: So chances are that when stripped down to his regular gear, Calder is no more difficult to defeat than any random Evo off the side of the Willamette street.

Silver: But that doesn't discredit any of Calder's abilties. Heavily regarded as being one of the toughest bosses in the Dead Rising series, at least from a conceptual standpoint, Lance Corporal Calder is not meant to be taken lightly.

Maverick: I mean, when it takes a suited and powered up Frank West to take you down, you're virtually a nearly unstoppable threat. There's a reason why Calder is fit enough to be given the title of the world's first super-zombie!

"You hide behind glass. Take all you see. Claim this. Take that. Make it all yours. Give nothing back. You are part of the chain, Frank West. And I must break the chain."

Death Battle[]

Willamette, Colorado.

December, 2022.

What would've been a cold yet festive night in the runup to Christmas was now nothing but a horror show fit for Halloween. Once again, despite the existence of a cure for the infection, Willamette had fallen to an outbreak. A zombie outbreak.

Snow was no longer the fluffy white that the substance was like, but rather a red, bloodied mess littered with human remains and dead bodies. Streets were not just frosty, but gory and foul. The smell of the pre-Christmas market, blessed with the scents of many themed foods, now smelled rotten and disgusting. Overall, Willamette was like a time machine set to head back to the September of 2006 and no place was more stuck in the past than the Willamette Memorial Megaplex.

Built on the site of the original mall, likely knocked down due to the mass body count that lay dead in the plazas that made up such a big shopping center for such a small town, the Willamette Memorial Megaplex was created in memory of those lost in the first Willamette outbreak. However, for Frank West this was no mere memory trip, but rather a living nightmare. The famed zombie hero of 2006 was now a criminal on the run from the law after having trespassed on a military research facility. But that was long ago, and tonight was his last night in the small city.

Strolling through the mall's main plaza, Frank sighed in frustration. He had finally gotten the information that pertained to Dr. Barnaby's immortality experiments, the true reason he wanted to look into the dangerous idea of zombification, but there was unfortunately one thing stopping him from getting back to Vick and getting the word out once and for all: Lance Corporal Calder. The former soldier turned intelligent undead was scratching at his head as the bright green bugs buzzed around him and his exo-skeleton suit.

"Frank West. You... You are a part of the chain." he said, turning to face his enemy, who was armed with none other than a laser sword and a giant Exo-Suit designed to be very reminiscent of a certain Maverick Hunter. Frank didn't turn back, as the zombie held in his hand a very specific item that held Frank's data, his camera. "And you have my camera, so uh... I kinda need it back." the zombie killer said, bringing his opposite hand around to hold the Laser Sword with both of them, preparing to lift it up and swing it at the undead monster that stood before him.

"That... that is your problem. You are a part of the chain, Frank West." he mumbled, with Frank steadily getting closer and closer by the second. "So you keep saying. But how about you give me back the camera, and I won't throw you on the pile with the other fleshy crap that I left to get here. That sound... fair?" the journalist asked, more similar to how he used to be back in the old days. As each second passed, Frank and Calder got closer. Their meeting was about to become a battle, and Frank wasn't going to let some damn zombie do him in, not when lives and serious information were at stake.

"You fail to understand. Frank West, you are just like everyone else. You hide behind glass. Take all you see. Claim this. Take that. Make it all yours. Give nothing back. Again, you are no more than a part of the chain I must break, and tonight I'm going to break..."

"S.T.A.R.S.!!!" emerged a voice deep from the shadows, as Calder and Frank turned further to see a giant hulking brute of a monster chasing towards them. "Oh, shit!!!" Frank yelled as he dived to the side, Calder becoming the Nemesis' next target. Reaching out, Frank tried to stop Nemesis from bodying Calder and breaking his camera. However, Calder grabbed a flying fist from the Pursuer's giant clawed hand, barely able to push back as Frank's camera shattered in his other hand.

Out dropped a SD card, which the photojournalist tried diving forwards to grab. Unfortunately, Calder pushing back ended up leading to the card being kicked down a drain. "Perfect, a giant monster fighting another monster and my one source of proof is down the drain... 'sigh', the things I do for a story." he sighed, believing that Calder was occupied with the Nemesis. As Frank ran off, he received a call from Brad who was quick to ask what the hell was going on.

"It's fine Brad, all I need to do is take a dive into the zombie infested sewers to get my SD card because some giant mutant came in to murder the zombie that's just destroyed my camera! So yeah, I'd say everything's goin' pretty good!" the sarcastic tone of Frank spoke through the receiver, as he sprinted off as fast as he could with his Zero armour clunking along the floors of the mall. Nemesis watched his other target get away from him, rounding his head to focus back on to his main hit. However the zombie delivered a painful punch to his face before he could even react.

If it was enough to send someone like the Nemesis tumbling back, it certainly was a strong strike. The Tyrant roared in anger, as Calder recognised the voice calling the word "Cal...der!". It wasn't the first time he had encountered the creature who lured him into his zombification, and now he had a little payback to get. "But before the chain must be broken..." he growled...

"I must break my connection to the chain!"

FIGHT!!!

Calder and Nemesis separate from each other, with the undead monster in the Exo-Suit rushing forward to take sharp jabs at the Nemesis T-Type. But it was clear that his first punch was a lucky one, as this time around the Pursuer shrugged it off like nothing and delivered a hard hitting swing of his rocket launcher into Calder's chest like he was hitting a ball with a cricket bat. The zombie soldier went flying backwards, crashing through the window of a clothing store.

Aiming his weapon at the demolished remains of glass, Nemesis intended to fire a rocket to the pile of women's clothing that Calder had found himself collapsed under. However, before he could get the shot away Calder through a grenade at Nemesis and forced the Tyrant into looking away from his target. In a flash, the grenade blew up right in front of Nemesis' face, but he still stood there having tanked it without so much as a scratch. Once the smoke cleared, in came Calder delivering powerful punches on the torso of Umbrella's war machine. But Nemesis was unfazed yet again, and grabbed the final attack from Calder before simply kicking him away.

"You... are nothing like one of them! Why can't you fall in line!?" Calder growled, picking himself up from kneeling as he stood before the towering creature. Nemesis swung the rocket launcher like a mace, but Calder punched back and forced the explosive weapon around his opponent's other shoulder. But Nemesis was no mindless mutant drone, and he used this to smack Calder with a sluggish yet heavy strike of his iconic device.

"Cal...der!" growled Nemesis, Calder again trying to pick himself up from the ground. This time, however, he wasn't so lucky. With an underarm swish of the launcher, Nemesis had sent Calder flying through the air in a daze. If he had been any other zombie, this would've taken Calder's head clean off without so much as a second thought. But instead it slammed him into an electrifying sign detailng the name of that same clothing store he had previously destroyed. With his first and final shot, the T-Type blasted a rocket towards the electrocuted Calder in the attempt to blow him into bloody chunks...

And then it hit. But before Nemesis could trudge away to kill Frank next, he was alerted to the sound of Calder's booming voice. "Foolish creature, perhaps I was wrong!" he hissed, the surge of electricity making itself seen through the clouds of smoke. "Maybe you are just as bad as them!"

In an instant, Calder dropped from the wall. The corporal sprinted over to Nemesis and, before he could react, delivered jab after jab to Nemesis' stomach, the energy enhancements to his Exo-Suit being more than enough to cause the monster to stumble. Umbrella's tyrant tried swinging his rocket launcher once again, but the surged Calder easily dived to the left before coming back around to deliver a painful hit to Nemesis' face. Rinse and repeat several more times after that, until inevitably Nemesis got his own back. Catching the fifth onslaught from Calder, Nemesis grabbed his wrist, dropped his rocket launcher and used his free arm to grab the chest of the Exo-Suit. Doing this, he chucked Calder away without breaking a single sweat on his tentacle wrapped decayed body...

That sounded like too much detail, sorry.

And so Calder crashed to the ground with a loud slam, almost as though he had just been slammed by Andre the Giant. But the Exo-Suit was tough, and Calder lifted himself off the ground in a flash. Nemesis tried to reclaim his rocket launcher but Calder was just too fast, swooping in before the Tyrant could react to steal his weapon from his hands. "This is what I consider to be... taking back." the undead leader growled.

Nemesis came charging in to shoulder charge the soldier, who lifted the heavy machinery in front of him in an effort to block the slow yet tough slice from the monster's claws, which tore through the metal, destroying the weapon and leaving the duo clouded in a massive explosion, in which neither party were all that badly damaged. He, Calder, pushed back, and hissed "You are nothing more than an abomination. A piece of the chain that is unwanted, unnecessary. A creation of humani-" until he was caught off guard by the lifting of his feet.

The T-Type was designed to be a battle smart force of science, and his idea beared fruit. His tentacles rapidly shot out from nearly everywhere on his body, grappling Calder with the intention of ripping him vertically in half. Calder could barely speak, and was holding on for his life as he tried violently punching sluggishly at the head of his enemy, whom he was now face to face with.

Calder could feel the suit... the suit! Calder's eyes glance to a trail of the T-Virus that Nemesis had dragged around with him. The sparks shot from the sign that Calder had used to boost his suit had hit the wet flooring and let a shock zoom towards Nemesis, who crazily shook from all the energy surging through his body.

Being held by Nemesis also gave Calder even more of a surge of power, with his Exo-Suit now on par with the monster he faced. Breaking his grip with relative ease, Lance Corporal Calder reeled his arm back and delivered an incredible punch to the stomach of the creature, holding a grenade he had picked up secretly from his crash earlier to blast Nemesis backwards.

The Tyrant had never faced such incredible force before, only his predecessor was know to have experience such a massive amount of energy. With that, the brute slammed on the floor hard enough to make the whole mall shake, alerting the nearby Evolved Zombies to his attention. "Rip him apart, limb from limb!" Calder ordered, the Evolved dashing like rabid animals through the wall of the store that Nemesis had been forced through.

In a heap, the zombies pounced on their prey, but Calder's eyes shot open. The T-Type had gotten straight back up, and behind him was a weapons store, clattered and on fire. The zombies that clawed at the Nemesis as he had stood on to his feet once again were wrapped around him, trying to fulfill their master's orders. But Nemesis picked one by the leg and threw it to the side, ripping it's limb from it's body. The others were also ripped apart, with the final having it's head squished to a bloodied mess by a stray tentacle.

"Cal...der!!!" the chasing creature growled in anger, his tentacles all grabbing on to several released grenades that were going to explode at any second. He launched them at Calder, the soldier rushing towards them and punching them away. Each grenade, as Calder swatted them like flies in his attempt to reach the Nemesis, blew up to the side. This left the area where they were fighting covered in flames.

Calder had finally reached the Tyrant, and delivered an uppercut that struck Nemesis on the chin. Stumbling back, the T-Type struggled to keep up with the much faster Calder, who's supercharged punches were now hitting him like a truck. Back and back Nemesis went, with Calder pulling his fist back to throw a stupendously strong hit which catapulted Nemesis into the wall of grenades that hadn't gone off yet.

They were about to now. Being as heavy as he was, Nemesis put up a struggle in getting back up once more. Calder slammed his fists on the wet, T-Virus soaked ground and used the trail to Nemesis to set the entire joint ablaze even more than the light fire that it was already harmed by.

Electricty surged here, there and everywhere as the entire mall's lights shut down with a flash. Calder hopped backwards and trudged off on all fours like his undead allies, as the Nemesis was engulfed by a mighty explosion that had sent half of the upper plaza floor crashing in a wreck to the ground.

Debris blocked the store, and all of the shattered upstairs ground lay around Calder and his group of zombies that gathered around their leader. "Nothing but a creation, designed for humanity's wish to sour the chain. To fulfill greed. To make the rest suffer." he spoke, a raspy whisper echoing throughout the flames.

Slamming of metal suddenly rang through the ears of the zombies. Slowly and carefully, Calder and his gang of undead approached the source of the sound and then...

BANG!!!

Out came the digusting rotted pile of Tyrant flesh that was the Nemesis. That massive explosion had practically reduced him to nothing more than an immobile mess on the floor, and boy was he really angry. The Tyrant looked nothing like he used to, but this didn't deter the Evolved from dashing frantically to slaughter their prey. But on their rampage, the sound of rotten flesh being ripped made it's way around the mall.

Zombies everywhere zoomed towards the monster having located the source of the sound, said monster having effortlessly impaled all of the undead with his plethora of tentacles that were now sharpened and totalled in their hundreds. Left, right and center the creatures that were once human had their heads impaled, their bodies ripped in two both vertically and horizontally, their skulls crushed underneath a strong, slimy grip.

It soon became a massacre of blood, guts and gore, but this was a sacrifice for his people that Calder had to take. On all fours, he too sprinted for the Nemesis' third form, diving and rolling around tentacles that found their way past the zombie hoarde and towards him. One strike to the giant pus filled spot was all he needed to severely harm the monster, but this was easier said than done. Once all of the zombies had been ruthlessly assimilated in their hundreds, Nemesis brought a group of his deformed body parts around to slam Calder all the way to the other side.

He crashed, he rolled, Calder was in serious trouble. Such a massive impact far beyond what Nemesis gave out before had easily taken his arm, and that did it. Calder jumped and hopped past several more sharpened attackers, reaching one of the hanging signs and latching on to it to enhance his Exo-Suit to the absolute best of it's ability. Dropping, the intention was to slam his fist to the floor and unleash an almighty blast of electrical power, but...

Blood dropped to the ground instead. Before he could hit the ground, Nemesis' tentacle had impaled him all the way through his back, even through the Exo-Suit. Nemesis roared in immense pain as the energy made it's way up his own tentacle, and Calder struggled to catch the other spiked appendage coming towards him in a steady, painful pace. He grabbed it with his free hand before it could tare him in two, but inevitably one was going to give out.

He hated to admit it, but ultimately Calder was still human. Still frail. Still beatable. Nemesis was a monster, an inhuman abomination, virtually unkillable.

It was over, as Calder's grip let go of the attack and let the extended limb find it's way to the gaping hole in his torso. Nemesis pulled and pulled, before finally shredding Calder vertically in half almost like he was paper. It took some time for the power to die down in Nemesis' body, and the sore feeling that it felt trying to surpass the Exo-Suit steadily subsided.

Finally, his target had been subdued...

KO!

In the sewers, Frank had retrieved his SD card and climbed a ladder leading to the drainage on that same floor. While he could barely see because of the debris, he saw enough to notice both Calder's torn corpse and Nemesis' ugly state. "Hey, Brad... I think we have a mutant on the loose..."

Results[]

Maverick: Woah. Listen, I knew Nemesis was a titan of a monster, but even I thought he would've just offed Calder with a rocket launcher and had that be the end of it.

Silver: It certainly was a tightly contested battle of strength, Nemesis and Calder's feats of power are pretty impressive. However, while Calder also had an advantage in agility and speed due to his smaller build, there was one thing stopping him from getting the better of Nemesis: durability.

Maverick: With the right ideas in mind, because Calder is still somewhat intelligent despite his insanity, he could certainly get Nemesis down to his second or even final forms with all that electricity. But... that's kinda where it ends for our zombie lord over here.

Silver: Nemesis has survived worse than what Calder has been able to put out. While being able to physically outmuscle a suited-up Frank West is impressive, Nemesis has tanked shots from the likes of Jill Valentine's Rail Cannon!

Pop-Up: Nemesis' Limiter Coat and his regeneration also made it hard for Calder to work up the power to permanently end the Tyrant under his own strength.

Maverick: And managed to survive it, remember that it took that giant city-wide firebombing of Raccoon City to finish him off. Are we saying that Calder couldn't harm Nemesis' ugly mess of a form in the slightest, no, he definitely could. But unless Calder could pile the pressure on a character who has a massive range advantage, then there was no way that he could get close enough to land the necessary killing blows.

Silver: It definitely wasn't out of the question. Calder's ability to supercharge himself with electricity was a massive helping hand in closing the gap to Nemesis' impressively tough body. However, when push came to shove Nemesis had plenty of ways to rip through Calder like butter.

Maverick: He can spout acid that can effortlessly burn through most materials, and in his standard form his rocket launcher is powerful enough to blow an entire helicopter up in one shot. RPGs in Dead Rising that the Exo-Suits have tanked don't exactly have that much impact to them, unfortunately.

Silver: And on top of that, the ranged attacks that Nemesis carried certainly could keep Calder at bay. As for his Evolved Zombie soldiers, they were nothing more than an annoyance for someone who could likely just devour them and mutated even further, like he can with deceased Tyrants.

Pop-Up: Evolved Zombies are about as durable as regular zombies, with their decayed flesh being very prone to piercing and ripping. Their undead wounds were also suitable openings for the T-Type's tentacles to exploit.

Maverick: So while Calder certainly did have an advantage in numbers, speed, intelligence and agility, Nemesis had range, strength, durability and the potent acidic attacks he needed to put a damper on Calder's plans. I guess the Christmas night just got to Cald for Calder to handle... that sucked, I'm sorry.

Silver: The winner is the Nemesis T-Type!
