Nekomaru Nidai is a main character in Danganronpa 2. He was a member of the group known as Ultimate Despair before he had his memories taken and left the group permanently. Nekomaru is also known as the Ultimate Team Manager.

Nekomaru Nidai was born with a faulty Heart, and was completely bed ridden in a hospital for the early years of his life, and even once he got out of bed and into a more normal life he was not allowed to participate in the more active things a normal kid could like gym or after school sports, this lead Nidai to start getting bullied for being shrimpy and not all that imposing
but after a few years he met a guy who had the same heart defect as him during a trip to the hospital, turns out he was a team manager and was a good one to on the way to leading his team to the championships, and after seeing how many people loved and respected him a fire was lit in the young Nidais heart, and after witnessing his friends death before he could see his team get to nationals he was sure of his new goal, to be a team manager just like his friend
and he did good to leading several run down teams to nationals and becoming well known for being the best team manager in the world, and as his reputation went up, so did his strength, growing in size and stature with every time he trained with his teams, eventually even looking like he should be playing instead of many of the actual players and by high school he was famous enough to get the attention of everyones dream school, Hopes Peak Acadamy, the most famous school in the world, known for how every student that goes to it is set for life, and it only lets the literal best attend so to attend nidai was honored but didn't accept until the second year of high school. The next year he was witnessed to the death of his class representative and close friend Chiaki Nanami(ultimate gamer) and was put under a mind control by the despair loving Junko Enoshima, where he and his classmates were forced to help her take over the world, but eventually was captured and put through a simulation to turn them good again... then that simulation was taken over by an AI version of Junko that turned it into a death game for their own gain
during this death game Nidai was constantly trying to help in anyway he could to prevent the killing and be an ally of hope, until his close friend and student Akane Owari(ultimate gymnist) got into a fight with the bear Monokuma and sacrificed himself to save her life... almost he was in critical condition, so much so that monokuma had to turn him into a robot to save his life, long story, don't ask
but as the now dubbed mechomaru he gain a arrange of gagdets that were not that interesting, but he was soon after killed by his friend and top tier delusion edge lord Gundham Tanaka(ultimate breeder) but his story doesn't end there
Nidai was brought back after the simulation was taken down by Hajime Hinata(ultimae Hope) and he helped to save the world from both despair and hope, again long story that should be saved, for another day

- After Nekomaru was hit by a bazooka, he had to be operated on to save his life, the result put Nekomaru in a metallic version of his own body which is stronger and more durable than before.

- Has to be stronger than Chiaki (a non-trained normal person) who with one punch can send someone flying across a room.
- Has to be faster than Hagakure (a non-trained normal person) who can dodge machine gun fire from a helicopter.
- Has beaten Akane in a fist fight multiple times (one of their fights they unintentionally destroyed a wall).
- Mechamaru shrugged off the same bazooka shot that put him in that condition.
