Description[]
Assassination Classroom VS Alex Rider! When a trained spy and natural assassin clash their knife and... odd-looking Nintendo DS, who will come out ahead of their target? Who will end the hunt?
This fight is between Nagisa Shiota from the Assassination Classroom series, and Alex Rider from the series of the same name.
(naturally, spoilers for both series will be involved, so be prepared for spoilers for both seasons of Assassination Classroom, and all current books from the Alex Rider series)
(while the Alex Rider Amazon Prime series will be acknowledged, it will not be the primary version used for this battle)
Interlude[]
ARCTAS: Nagisa Shiota, the assassin prodigy from Kunugigaoka Junior High.
RUKASU: Alex Rider, teenage superspy and main powerhouse of MI6.
ARCTAS: In life, you are usually given a choice on what you want to be. You could be a lawyer, a builder, an astronaut, or something along those lines.
RUKASU: That makes it a real shame for these two trained killers, who never got that choice to be who they wanted, and were instead forced into a dangerous world.
ARCTAS: He's Rukasu and I'm Arctas.
RUKASU: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armour and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.
Nagisa Shiota Locks On in Death Battle![]
ARCTAS: The city of Kunugigaoka was renowned for it's being a starting point for many brilliant minds. Some of the country's highest achievers could be traced back to this town, and it was all thanks to it's revolutionary junior high school... Kunugigaoka Junior High. Wow, how creative.
RUKASU: However, the way that this acclaimed building reached those standards was through a very inhumane method; the students were separated into five classes, each attached with a letter. Class A were the highest prospects, expected to make a big name for themselves and become famous in history.
ARCTAS: Classes B, C, and D were mostly irrelevant. Not always, they had their moments, but-
RUKASU: Trailing off. However, the fifth class, Class E, were given an awful scenario; being seen as low-level rejects, they were packed off to an abandoned school building on a mountainside, where they would essentially rot away, all while being ridiculed by the higher classes for being failures.
ARCTAS: Think about a triangle system, except only the bottom layer had nothing.
RUKASU: It DID have nothing, until one fateful day.
ARCTAS: The moon thought that it wasn't happy with how round it's face looked, and so it decided to have a face change!
RUKASU: More specifically, an event occurred that caused 70% of the moon's mass to be vaporised instantly. The world panicked, the news was rampant, and no one had any clue what kind of being could have that kind of power.
ARCTAS: ...are you serious?
RUKASU: The student's of Class E's lives were forever changed when this creature appeared in their classroom, announcing that he was responsible for the moon's... face change.
ARCTAS: While also adding that he would do the same to Terra Firma in one year, if this buncha losers didn't put a bullet in his head first! And all while he tries to teach them algebra! Now you might be wondering why this creature would want a class of kids to try and kill him... but that's for an analysis that's about HIM.
RUKASU: Indeed. This story is NOT about the octopus creature named Koro-Sensei. This is the story of one of the children in Class E. A short-statured, long blue-haired boy occupying seat number eleven; Nagisa Shiota.
BACKGROUND
- Name: Nagisa Shiota
- Age: 15 to 16; 22 to 23 after time-skip
- Height: 5ft 2.5"
- Weight: 106lbs
- Occupations: Student, assassin, teacher after time-skip
- Likes: Training, sushi, Koro-Sensei, English
- Dislikes: Cross-dressing, being feminised, Science, his height
ARCTAS: Hang on there. Boy? Are you sure?
RUKASU: Yeah, it says it right here in the script...
ARCTAS: Huh, that's weird. Anyways, Nagisa immediately assumed when Koro-Sensei announced this mission that he stood no chance in it.
RUKASU: However, Nagisa proved to be more than enough to help his friends in their efforts to kill their new teacher. With help from government agent Karasuma, his close friends, and Koro-Sensei himself, Nagisa would learn how to become an assassin.
ARCTAS: And so this plucky young femboy began the most exciting year of his life alongside his friends... in the Assassination Classroom!
RUKASU: Cool title drop.
ARCTAS: Thank you! I was working on building up to it and I feel like it was worth it, and you were being sarcastic, weren't you...?
RUKASU: Careful, people. He's learning. Anyways, Nagisa proved himself on more than one occasion to be a valuable asset to the class. His skill in assassination was unlike any other. He found himself comfortable holding a knife. It was like he was born for the art of assassination.
ARCTAS: Yeah, it turns out that thanks to his really shit home life, Nagisa had actually subconsciously picked up some valuable techniques that are essential to assassination! And- wait, what? About that shit home life? Uh...
RUKASU: I'll make it brief. Nagisa's mother had been obsessed with the idea of having a daughter. When Nagisa was born, she didn't exactly take no for an answer.
ARCTAS: What does that have to do with... Wait... Oh...
RUKASU: The ideals that Hiromi tried to force on her son were too much for Nagisa's father, who left the pair before the boy was even two, leaving Nagisa to feel even more unhappy. This all came to a head with his first attempt on Koro-Sensei's life; a BB grenade tied around his neck which, when set off, had a decent chance of killing him.
ARCTAS: Holy shit...
RUKASU: Thankfully, Koro-Sensei proved to be more than a target by saving Nagisa from the blast. While criticising of his lack of self-preservation, the octopus saw a potential talent in the boy, advising him to work hard towards his goal, but not to let himself become reckless with his own life.
ARCTAS: Nagisa experienced something he never had before; a genuine conversation with a respecting adult. He vowed to follow his teacher's word, and worked with his classmates to save the world. And what made this even better? Nagisa finally had a place where he felt like he belonged, and began to flourish and change as a result to better match his friends. And his abilities prove that every change was for the better!
RUKASU: Nagisa's subconscious training proved vital in his growth as an assassin. His forced lifestyle had caused him to bottle up his true emotions. This meant that he knew how to hide his emotions from his opponents and others, leading to many seeing him as emotionless.
ARCTAS: When that couldn't have been further from the truth. And when Nagisa DECIDES to let his emotions out... well, you know the phrase "Demons run when a good man goes to war?" Well, when Nagisa decided to fight, the DEVIL runs for cover.
RUKASU: Nagisa secretly possesses a level of bloodlust unlike anyone else in his world. In a fight, he has to contain himself, otherwise his bloodlust begins to leak out, and even a small amount can terrify nearby watchers, never mind his opponent.
ARCTAS: This kid's bloodlust is something else. When going for a sneak attack on Karasuma, the guy got so shook that he spun around and threw Nagisa over his shoulder! That's right; Nagisa made a TRAINED MARINE act in 100% serious self-defence! And he wasn't even trying that hard!
RUKASU: That pails in comparison to when he faced Akira Takaoka, a man with abhorrent techniques and ideals. When challenged to fight the man with a real knife, something that he has NEVER held before, he treated it as a normal walk to school, simply smiling as he walked up to his foe.
ARCTAS: Before swinging the knife into Takaoka's face so close that it almost had his eye out! God damn, remind me never to piss this kid off!
RUKASU: You'd have a hard time doing that anyway. Outside of killing, Nagisa is actually a kind, mature boy who is willing to do anything to help his friends.
ARCTAS: And there's no better way to help out than with firearms! Yep, they gave this kid a gun!
ARSENAL
- Anti-sensei knife
- Combat knife
- Anti-sensei pistol (specially crafted M1911A1 handgun)
- Anti-sensei rifle (specially crafted M4 Carbine)
- Stun Gun (given by Ryoma Terasaka)
- PE Uniform (gifted by the government)
RUKASU: More specifically, the government gave Nagisa and his class specially modified weapons designed to be used on Koro-Sensei's antimatter body. Typically, these weapons don't have much of an effect on normal humans, only really being harmful to the main target himself. However, they can still hurt if applied right, which is a fact Nagisa knows all too well.
ARCTAS: Something else Nagisa knows well is how to use those things! Okay, maybe not the gun, so much, and even he admits it, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a better knife fighter than this guy.
RUKASU: Nagisa pushed himself to train hard and work harder to help take Koro-Sensei's life, and he knew he would need more than guns to do it.
ARCTAS: Bullshit. Anything can be solved with a gun. Ask Heavy.
RUKASU: Which is why the young assassin learned several key techniques throughout his year with Koro-Sensei and his class.
ABILITIES
- Emotion reading
- Wavelength manipulation
- Self control of wavelengths (increases stealth to being essentially invisible)
- Clap Stunner
- Flying Triangle Hold
- Kiss of Death
ARCTAS: Yeah, so Nagisa basically learned how to treat people like computers. He can see how they work in his own special way. View their "source code", if you will.
RUKASU: It's not as efficient as that, but it is effective. Nagisa originally simply possessed the ability to read people's emotions more in-depth than others; while most would see a blank face, Nagisa could see pain, and such like that. However, he levelled this power up when the assassin Lovro taught him a very special technique which would quickly become his signature move; the Clap Stunner.
ARCTAS: This move is so precise in how it works that's it's a shock that Nagisa understands it at all. To get it to work right, you need two weapons, an opponent who's an expert, and who's also familiar with the fear of death. You know, the typical anime bullshit guidelines.
RUKASU: Nagisa first utilised this technique against Takaoka, when he returned seeking revenge for his embarrassment of a first defeat at the boy's hands. The clap proved effective enough to paralyse the fully trained marine, and while not the instant kill move it is usually showcased as, Nagisa's version is proven to be effective enough to knock his opponents unconscious for a few moments.
ARCTAS: However, he later had this move used on his own self by the assassin known as the God of Death, and while the experience was disorienting, it proved educational. After that defeat, Nagisa realised that he could see the wavelengths of others with ease, be they friend, foe, or stranger. He was able to manipulate these waves and either cause them to spike, making his opponent act irrationally, or flat them out, knocking them unconscious completely.
RUKASU: Nagisa was always the more strategic kind of assassin than a brute or cold-blooded one. He preferred to be in the shadows, calculating a move, unless he is directly challenged. However, he has been known to be more reckless than courageous in these scenarios. He never backs down from a direct challenge, as proven when he deliberately faced Takaoka to the death, and Karma for Koro-Sensei's life.
ARCTAS: Wait, what was that last part? FOR Koro-Sensei's life?
RUKASU: Yes, FOR. A time came when Nagisa realised that their octopus teacher did not deserve death. Over the course of the year, Nagisa had taught not only others, but himself the value of life, and became determined to help save Koro-Sensei from a cruel fate he did not deserve.
ARCTAS: And he had to fight half of his class to do it! And he god damn won!
FEATS
- Winner of the Class E Civil War
- Defeated a high-class assassin in one blow
- Jumped over a street
- Tanked Koro-Sensei's Absolute Defence Explosion
- Took a beating from Takaoka with minimal signs of serious injury
- Scared Karasuma into self-defence
- Calmed and knocked out Kayano with a kiss
- Drove Takaoka insane
- Survived a launch into space and back with no injury or lasting effects
- Defeated Takaoka twice, Kayano, Karma
- Ultimately assassinated Koro-Sensei
RUKASU: Nagisa's will is likely the strongest in the class. His willingness to step in and help whenever he can is one to praise. He fought Karma to the point where the latter surrendered, knocked out Kayano with a kiss, and survived a space trip and back with NO injury or effects.
ARCTAS: Even the most well-trained astronauts show visible effects of being in space. You see, just hopping in a rocket and blasting off isn't the whole deal. Try to fly into space with no training, and you could suffer from many bad side-effects.
RUKASU: Including, but not limited to, bones leaking calcium, stretched spine, flattened eyeballs, and death.
ARCTAS: And Nagisa was completely unharmed. Did we mention that this anime's logic is all over the place? Because it is.
RUKASU: But lack of solid physics didn't stop Nagisa from fighting to save the life of his teacher, even if, in the end, he ultimately was the one to take it. Circumstances surrounding the end of the year led to that single fateful moment, when Nagisa himself plunged the knife into Koro-Sensei's heart.
ARCTAS: Damn. And he was the guy who wanted to save him the most.
RUKASU: As Koro-Sensei disintegrated into light, leaving the mortal realm forevermore, Nagisa couldn't help but join his classmates's grief. However, he did not lose any of the knowledge he had gained over the year. If anything, he doubled down on it. In the beginning, Nagisa believed he had no future and no hope. Now, seven years later, he led a future as a teacher himself, inspired to help people gain the same hope for their lives that Koro-Sensei had given him.
ARCTAS: Aw, he did all that to honour his sensei! Good for him! Oh, and hey, he made up with that bitch mom of his!
RUKASU: Nagisa had realised that the treatment from his mother and himself was what held him down, and pushed outward to ensure his own freedom. While Hiromi initially reacted badly to this rebellion, she eventually saw-
ARCTAS: Saw that she was being a whore and backed off from a possible assassin?
RUKASU: Saw Nagisa for who he truly was after he saved her life; he was her son, and nothing could stop him leading the life HE wanted to lead, not even her crazed dreams of an ideal life. So, she lessened her hold on her son's life, allowing Nagisa to flourish into the kind of person HE wanted to become.
ARCTAS: She even got back together with her husband just to help Nagisa feel happier! *sniff* Okay, maybe I should have packed tissues...
RUKASU: But that doesn't mean he lost his edge. Not in the least. So heed this warning; if you harm anyone who might be close to a certain blue-haired individual, be sure to watch your back down that moonlit road.
ARCTAS: Because Nagisa Shiota is watching. And chances are? You're already crossed off the list.
Alex Rider is Never Too Young for Death Battle![]
RUKASU: When it comes to protagonists who try to deny their callings, some are more stubborn than others. Harry Potter denied his wizard heritage since he was raised to believe he was nothing special. Luke Skywalker simply wished to remain in the life of a farm boy.
ARCTAS: However, despite all examples, I'm fairly confident that this guy here is the MOST stubborn about not wanting that main character role.
RUKASU: Alexander Rider had a fairly conventional life; he had a loving uncle, a caring housekeeper, and good friends that cared for him no matter what.
ARCTAS: Disappointing, then, that reality decided to slap him around the face at the innocent age of fourteen.
RUKASU: One cold January night, as Alex stirred around 3AM, police officers arrived at the door to inform both him and his housekeeper, Jack Starbright, that his uncle, Ian Rider... had been murdered.
ARCTAS: The normal stuff you'd expect transpired from this; a funeral, condolences from friends and neighbours, a sudden interest in Alex from his uncle's workplace... wait, what?
BACKGROUND
- Name: Alexander Rider
- Age: 14 from Stormbreaker to Crocodile Tears; 15 onwards
- Height: 5ft 9"
- Weight: 120lbs
- Occupations: Student, MI6 agent
- Likes: Football, school, Sabina
- Dislikes: Snakes, Alan Blunt, Julius Grief
RUKASU: For most of his life, Alex assumed his uncle worked for a bank named Royal and General. However, when he visited them to discuss the contents of Ian's will, he discovered that they weren't exactly who they said they were.
ARCTAS: He probably figured it out when one of the workers shot him with a dart. It transpired that Royal and General weren't a bank. Hell, it didn't even exist.
RUKASU: Instead, it was a front for the Special Operations branch of the British secret intelligence, MI6. The head of the branch, Alan Blunt, had taken a particular interest in Alex upon witnessing his actions in investigating his uncle's death.
ARCTAS: So the man told Alex straight up that his uncle was murdered, and that he had been... a spy? *gasp* You don't say, head of MI6!
RUKASU: But real life MI6 weren't exactly the same deal as what you would see in a James Bond film. THIS MI6 were perfectly willing to ask a child to help them out on their secret missions to stop crazed villains from killing millions. Alex responded in the natural way of telling Blunt that he was clinically insane, and firmly said no to the request.
ARCTAS: Only for Blunt to pull a cheap move and blackmail the kid, saying that if he refused, his housekeeper, Jack, would be sent back to her home in America thanks to an expired visa, which would cause Alex to be put up for foster care. Damn, what an asshole!
RUKASU: Alex felt the same as you, make no mistake, but he saw clearly that he had no choice in the matter if he wanted to keep his life. And so, Alex Rider joined MI6 to save the world from the dangerous people who threatened it.
ARCTAS: Now, I'm sure you're expecting a classic hero story of Alex starting out useless and slowly working hard to the point where he's the best? Don't count on that. Turns out, Alex was actually far more prepared for this life than even he'd ever known.
RUKASU: While he had lived, Ian Rider had secretly been training Alex for the life of a spy. He had signed him up for karate at age six, and Alex was a black belt by the time he was thirteen. He had also taken the boy around the world to learn several key skills of espionage.
ARCTAS: Mountain climbing, other languages, snowboarding, surfing, scuba diving, and even how to drive a quad bike. If there's anyone I want on my side in a school fight, it's probably gonna be Alex.
RUKASU: You wouldn't be wrong for that. Alex actually had experiences of bullies attempting to pick on him during his school time. I say "attempting" because none of them even got close to succeeding. In fact, one bully straight up left the school and was never seen again.
ARCTAS: Alex's repertoire is astounding for his age. But even then, Blunt seemed to think he needed more "official" training. So he packed Alex off to two weeks in SAS training, being put through gruelling training by his instructor and bullying from his adult peers.
RUKASU: But Alex pushed through it to the point that you'd be hard-pressed to find a more impressive spy anywhere in the world. Over the course of his thirteen missions-
ARCTAS: Wait, I thought there were FOURTEEN books?
RUKASU: One of them's a prequel story. It's understandable if you're confused. There's also a movie and a TV show, but we won't be considering either of them for the sake of consistency. Plus, trying to composite the books with the TV show would be a bad idea, seeing as how the timelines don't match up. Continuing, over his thirteen missions, be they officially for MI6 or not, Alex has proved why he was chosen by Blunt at the simple age of fourteen. He's faced insane madmen like Herod Sayle, Hugo Grief, and many more.
WEAPONS AND ABILITIES
- Smoke bomb, disguised as Game Boy/Nintendo DS
- Tranquilliser dart guns, disguised in both 2002-era mobile phone or hardback novel
- Stun grenade, disguised as miniature footballer key fob
- Bulletproof jersey
- Miniature blade concealed inside standard issue pencil sharpener
- Metal-corroding paste disguised as skin moisturiser
- Knife made of toughened plastic concealed inside belt buckle
- Various firearms (occasionally through acquisition from others such as defeated adversaries; MI6 never issue Alex with a gun of his own)
ARCTAS: And Alex beat every last one of them, and through impressive odds too! Never let it be said that this kid's a pushover. Not even a sniper bullet can take him down, and he took one of those bastards to the chest!
RUKASU: The sniper in question was using a .22 Calibre rifle from a distance of around half a mile away. The most common .22 rifles use bullets weighing between 36 and 40 grains travelling between 1080 to 1260 feet a second. Assuming that Alex was half a mile away from the end of the barrel, which would be around 2640 feet, Alex would have had to survive a shot entering his chest and exiting again at that same speed, which would have normally killed even a full-grown man.
ARCTAS: But not Alex! He even got back up a few weeks later to help save a boy from mercenaries, and then escaped the burning tower block they trapped him in by TIGHTROPING across the banner attached to the tower and an opposite building, with a distance of about one hundred feet between them, what the fuck is this kid made out of?!
FEATS
- Made a parachute jump successfully through the roof of the Science Museum in London
- Thwarted Herod Sayle's attempts to release a viral infection by shooting him from distance
- Successfully escaped Point Planc by snowboarding down a black-grade slope under fire from pursuers
- Successfully prevented a nuclear attack
- Survived a bullfight despite having no experience bullfighting
- Landed a successful BASE jump despite having no experience
- Climbed a rope hanging from a moving hot air balloon
- Survived being shot in the chest by a sniper
- Defeated four mercenaries in a weakened condition using only hospital equipment
- Survived a space mission with no prior training and successfully returned to Earth
- Escaped a car submerged at the bottom of a lake, with two companions
- Climbed a rope hanging from a moving low-flying plane
- Defeated Herod Sayle, Hugo Grief, Damian Cray, Razim
- Killed Julius Grief
RUKASU: And that's without mentioning that he then went on a mission that ultimately sent him into space with NO prior training, NO preparation, and NO real plan. And he still came down to Earth again in one piece.
ARCTAS: Jesus, this guy's a powerhouse! Not to mention, every bad guy he's fought has ended up dead. Name an enemy of his, they're six feet under. His name has become infamous in the underground world. If you're a major threat to the world, and you hear that Alex Rider's the one coming for you, you may as well sign your will and testament there and then.
RUKASU: But Alex isn't perfect. Far from it, naturally. While physically impressive, he IS still only fourteen throughout most of the series. This naturally means that, despite his build, he's usually physically weaker than his adult opponents. Alongside that, most of his successes come from his luck when it comes to using his unorthodox arsenal.
ARCTAS: Plus, he is still a nice guy at heart. If it's a choice between his friends and saving the world, he'll take the former in a heartbeat. The reason is because despite all of his impressive feats, Alex is still just a kid.
RUKASU: Alex only ever wanted a normal life with his friends and loved ones, but MI6 made that almost impossible when they forced him into this life of danger and espionage. If you were to ask him what his truest wish would be after all this time, he would answer that he only wants to be a normal schoolboy. His biggest weakness is that his psyche isn't exactly the strongest after almost a year of constant threat to his life and others. So much danger to his life and the lives of his family and friends has led to him becoming an almost entirely different person by the present day in the series. He has killed, and he will kill again.
ARCTAS: But no matter how hard he tries, he always gets pulled back into this life of constant life-threatening danger. It doesn't matter who or what he faces, all Alex knows is one simple truth.
RUKASU: That truth is... you're never too young to die.
Pre-Death Battle[]
RUKASU: Alright, the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities.
ARCTAS: It's time for a Death Battllllllllllllllle!
Death Battle![]
The biting November air cut into the guard's skin as he stood in front of the door. He yanked on his collar in an effort to make it flush better with his neck, hoping that would remedy the temperature. Naturally, it didn't work, but it was worth a try, right?
The guard was stood outside of a tower building labelled "Dousin Limited", a fairly large company that was famous for it's reach into almost everything you could think of. The guard had to admit, as he stood there with his arms trembling in the dawn air, that the building was one of the most impressive he'd ever seen. It towered at a breathtaking height of five hundred feet, and the glass panels had cost one hundred American dollars each. All the more to help sell that this company were on top.
The guard felt his teeth chattering, and willed them to stop. He had accepted this job under unusual circumstances; he wasn't a typical guard, perse. He wasn't stopping EVERYONE from entering the complex. He had been tasked to only stop ONE person.
He went over the description in his head again; tall, fair-haired, handsome teenage boy, who may not look like much, but was easily the most dangerous boy he might ever meet. The guard had thought this description very odd; why would a teenager want to break into a company this massive?
The next thing he thought about was the considerable pain to the right side of his head.
The guard gave a groan, and keeled over onto the snow-covered pavement, a bruise blossoming on his right temple. He was unconscious before he hit the white snow.
Standing above him, swinging a metal yo-yo by it's nylon string, was the very boy he had been watching out for. He wound the yo-yo up again and pocketed it, before picking up the guard's unconscious form and pulling him inside, making sure he didn't freeze.
"Sorry about this, mate, I didn't see a way around you" he said apologetically. "Hopefully you can warm up here". He placed the guard into a corner, next to a radiator, and covered him in a blanket before straightening up again. To get upstairs, he'd need to take the lift so as to not rouse suspicion. Taking the guard's face mask and pulling it on, he dashed into the lift before anyone saw the oddly short customer in the foyer.
Alex Rider was determined to make it to the top of the building, one way or another. How was he gonna do that? He wasn't entirely sure, but he knew he couldn't afford to second-guess himself. He sighed to himself, hands entering his pockets, watching as the doors started to slide shut.
"Hold that elevator!"
Only for a hand to suddenly grab the left one, forcing them open again as a second person entered the lift. Alex tensed, hands ready to fly out and defend himself, only to stare as his lift buddy was shown to simply be a fast food delivery girl. Alex relaxed, watching her pant for air.
"Sorry, had to rush to get here in time" she wheezed, hands on her knees as she caught her breath. "You know these things ALWAYS start shutting in my face when I'm coming close?"
"Heh... definitely know that feeling" Alex chuckled. "You okay?"
"Oh, don't worry, I'll be fine" the girl smiled, finally looking up at the MI6 agent. They had a slim face, with beautiful azure eyes, a small smile, and long blue hair tied back in two pigtails. She finally stood up straight and positioned herself next to Alex in the lift. Alex forced himself to remain calm; he had a girlfriend already. Plus, he didn't want to be labelled a creep by a girl he didn't even know.
"Does this go up to the fiftieth floor?" she suddenly asked, making Alex double-take, and look at the girl oddly. While yes, the lift DID go that high... only those with the highest clearance KNEW about the fiftieth.
"Yeah, I'm actually heading there myself" he answered, carefully choosing his next words. "Someone there order a pizza?"
"Pizza?" the girl asked blankly. "Oh, right! Yeah! I think it was the big man himself. Really odd, you'd think he'd want a gourmet meal, right? So where are you heading?" Alex heard the hint of desperation to get the light off of the girl, and decided to play along to get better information.
"Same place. Someone wants to meet me" he replied, smiling in a friendly way.
"No kidding! Is it one of the chairmen?" the girl asked, but Alex suddenly sensed a familiar feeling; someone was ALSO looking for info.
And it wasn't him.
"Nah, it's the big man, like you" he kept up the mask. "Maybe I could share that pizza with him".
"Maybe you could" the girl shrugged. "But I don't know if the guy will find time to eat with all the business he has to oversee".
"If he found time to order pizza, he must have thought he'd have time to eat it" Alex pointed out, making the girl blush.
"Oh, right" she said, clearly embarrassed. She fell silent, letting the next few floors pass without conversation. Alex eyed her carefully. Something clearly wasn't right. She had only revealed she was delivering a pizza when he had asked her, she had said she was seeing the big man when HE'D said the same, and why would she think he wouldn't have time to eat if he'd ordered the damn thing?
He made a decision right then and there. "I'm Alex, by the way" he said, turning and offering his hand with a friendly smile. The girl looked shocked for a second, before smiling and accepting, shaking hands.
"Nagisa" she replied. "Pleased to meet you!"
The elevator bell dinged to let the two of them know that they had arrived at their desired floor. They shared a smile before watching the doors slide open, only to be met with at least thirty gun barrels, wiping the smile off of both faces. A tall, burly man walked forward, grinning in a satisfied manner.
"Alex Rider" he said in a gruff voice. "You thought it would be this easy?" As he spoke, a man walked around him, clutching his head with pain in his features.
Alex cursed mentally. He should have left that guard to freeze. He chose a friendly approach.
"Alonso Carrack! Pleased to finally meet you!" he said in a cheery tone. "I... wonder what would make the CEO of Dousin LTD arrange a big welcome party for me of all people?"
"You know perfectly well why, Rider" Carrack sneered. "MI6 will not stop my plans, and you know that all too well. You trying to arrest me will make no difference". Alex sensed Nagisa give him a look of shock to his left. He gave the girl a side look to be prepared for anything. To his surprise, Nagisa nodded, and entered what looked to be a fight stance.
"Would that plan be to poison Japan with British chemicals to start a war between the two?" she asked in a cold voice; so cold that even Alex lost composure. Carack gave the delivery girl a look.
"And you are?" he asked in a bored tone. "Sorry, but I don't remember ordering anything".
"You ordered your death. Does that count?" Nagisa replied, making Alex double-take. She then moved so fast the Carrack was forced to blink in order to track her. He heard thirty sounds of pain, each from a different one of his guards. He registered what had happened a second later; Nagisa had taken down every last one of them, leaving him alone.
Alex blinked stupidly, then regained his demeanour. "Uh... thanks?"
"No problem, Rider" Nagisa smiled, dropping the final guard to the floor. "Don't panic, none of them are dead. I just knocked them out. Only one man needs to die today".
"You... You..." Carrack spluttered, watching as Nagisa turned around and began approaching him.
"Now hang on!" Alex shouted, and Carrack watched, dumbfounded, as the MI6 agent grabbed Nagisa by the shoulder. He chose that moment to make a break for it, spinning around dashing into the staircase hall.
Nagisa turned to Alex, half-shocked and half-annoyed. "What? He's planning on poisoning everyone in my country!"
"I get that, but he's MY country's responsibility!" Alex argued, letting Nagisa go and locking eyes. "And, frankly, I don't think MI6 would be happy with a little... assassin girl killing him before he can be properly dealt with! Who do you work for? Scorpia? Nightshade?"
"First" Nagisa said coldly, before slapping Alex hard across the face, making him stumble. "I'm a boy. Second, neither. I work for the Japanese government. I understand that MI6 have their own agenda, but my orders involve his death. You can't prevent that".
"Yeah, sorry" Alex coughed, straightening up. "Gonna have to call a bluff there".
"Bluff?" Nagisa asked, before noticing he was entering a fight stance; the most favoured in karate.
"I CAN prevent you. Or would you care to prove me wrong?" Alex challenged, a smile growing on his face. Nagisa blinked, and before he realised what Alex was doing, the spy had tackled him in a spear move, knocking the both of them into the stairwell.
"Alright, now you've asked for hell" Nagisa snapped, grunting in pain as he tried to break Alex's hold. He slammed both of his fists into Alex's back, making him cry out and let go. Still on the floor, the assassin kneed Alex in the jaw, grabbed his head in both hands and kneed him in the stomach. Alex, winded, threw his head forward into Nagisa's chest, hitting the boy with enough force to drive his head into the banister of the stairs.
Getting to his feet, Alex launched himself again, but Nagisa dodged this second attempt, delivering a kick to the agent's back and sending him down the stairs in a heap. Alex, in pain, stumbled onto his feet again, only to feel his head get grabbed and slammed into the banister again, making him see double. Nagisa threw him down the next flight of stairs, sending him tumbling into a painful pile again.
Thinking that the agent was dealt with, Nagisa began running down the stairs as fast as he could. Carrack would have had enough time to get to the forty-ninth floor, meaning he could reach the lift there and descend that way, and then he would never catch him. He had just reached the lower floor in time to see Carrack spamming the button for the lift with feverish speed.
"Come on, come on!" he said desperately. He looked behind him to spot Nagisa, who had drawn a combat knife now that nothing was in the way. He spun round and began jabbing the button even faster, if that were possible.
"OI! We're not done!" Carrack suddenly heard a voice yell, making him turn to see Alex Rider jumping out from the stairwell, delivering a powerful dropkick to Nagisa's back, making him cry out. He went back to hitting the button, only for Alex to throw a brick from, the damaged stairs at him, clocking him in the back of the head and knocking him out, leaving Nagisa and Alex to deal with their disagreement.
"What is your problem?!" Nagisa asked angrily, swinging at Alex's head while the agent ducked, before aiming a kick into his leg. Dodging, Alex shoulder barged the assassin, causing them both to crash into the lift doors.
"My 'problem' has to do with you killing the guy that deserves legal action first!" Alex yelled back, landing three swift punches and a roundhouse kick into Nagisa's abdomen, before grabbing him by the pigtails and throwing him over his head into the nearby wall, causing Nagisa's head to start bleeding.
"You know he was trying to kill my entire country, right?!" the androgynous boy shouted, bolting to his feet and running at Alex, grabbing him by the throat, kneeing him in the stomach and forcing them both through the back door and out on to the balcony of the tower. This balcony stood four hundred and seventy feet over ground level. It sported a helipad for Carrack's affairs, and a oil tank that fuelled the entire tower, which led to every room in the building.
Nagisa suddenly let Alex go, confusing him. A sudden CLAP told him why, as Nagisa clapped his hands in his face, causing him to fall to his knees, gasping for air. His mind was all over the place, and he couldn't see straight. Nagisa approached, face unreadable, but eyes ablaze with killing intent.
"You are actively leaving him alive, letting him try again" the boy hissed, and Alex felt his clouded mind freeze at his tone; a tone so cold that it could have frozen water. "What if he gets out again? He would try this again, and again, and again. The only way to stop him for good... is a knife in the heart".
Alex coughed up some blood, before getting slowly to his feet, shaking from pain. In Nagisa's eyes, he suddenly saw a flash of a familiar scene; a nighttime rooftop, with two figures upon it. One was talking about how he would kill the other, while the second was struggling to stand.
Alex fought to stand up straight, tears of pain clouding his eyes. Nagisa finally realised what he was causing. What was he doing?! Alex was just someone else who had the same target as him! Why was he fighting him?!
"I..." he stammered, the bloodlust retracting from his eyes instantly, leaving fear and guilt to fill it's place. Alex finally managed to lift his head high enough to make eye contact, blood oozing from his mouth.
"I know who you are" he spluttered, wiping his mouth. "The one too determined on his goal to see his faults". He pulled out the gun that he had stolen from the guard when he first arrived, and aimed. "But no matter what you go through... no matter where you go... you always forget one thing..." He smiled, pulling back on the trigger.
"You're never too young... or old... to die" he smirked.
He fired the gun. The bullet soared through the air... past Nagisa's head and flying into the shoulder of Alonso Carrack, who had been about to shoot Nagisa in the back. Carrack howled, snapping Nagisa out of his trance and making him spin around.
"AGH! Damn it!" Carrack screamed, grabbing the gun in his other hand. "I swear, on my life, you two are DEAD! Do you hear me?! DEAD!" And he aimed the gun towards the oil tanker. One shot would set the oil alight, along with any attached area.
The entire building would become their collective grave.
"SHIT!" Alex shouted, firing the gun at Carrack again, but proving a poor shot this time as Carrack fired, the bullet burrowing into the tank. Nagisa had also realised the danger, and ran at Carrack with a yell, knife drawn. Alex also dashed towards the CEO, firing bullet after bullet.
A knife blade buried itself in Carrack's heart, penetrating the left ventricle. At the same time, bullet holes exploded across his chest, and one appeared in his head. The man fell, dead before he hit the concrete. Nagisa and Alex snapped around to see the oil tank ablaze, and immediately knew they had no escape.
"RIDER!" Nagisa yelled, catching Alex's attention. "YOUR YO-YO!"
"RIGHT!" Alex shouted back, pulling out the device. He spun the nylon rope out to it's maximum length, before running towards Nagisa, just as the fire finally hit the oil inside.
The light from the explosion was bright enough to set the air on fire, and a shockwave so massive that everyone in a five mile radius felt it's effects. The entire tower shuddered before every last panel of glass shattered, exploding out in a storm of shards. The foundations of the building began to buckle as the structure began bending to its side, causing the people below to panic and run.
No one noticed the two figures leap from the helipad in all that commotion.
Nagisa and Alex spun in the air, four hundred feet in the air. Alex's grip on the yo-yo was tight, and Nagisa grabbed on as Alex spun it in an arc, aiming for the nearest building to them, which was only one hundred feet below them.
"Hang on tight!" Alex yelled, throwing the end of the yo-yo and catching the end of the building. Nagisa did as he was told, but accidentally pulled too hard on Alex's arm, making him yell out... and his grip to slip off of the yo-yo.
"NO!" Nagisa immediately realised what he'd done and leapt for the device, grabbing the very end of it while snatching for the hood of Alex's jacket. The yo-yo swung down past the edge of the building and slammed into the side of it, and Nagisa felt his arm fracture from the blow. Yelling out, he grabbed the rope with his other arm, before panting from the pain in his limb.
Wait... His OTHER arm...
"OH CRAP! RIDER!" Nagisa screamed, snapping his head around to look below him. What he saw almost made him let go.
Alex Rider lay on the street three hundred feet below him, his body completely broken. His arms were bent wrong, and his head had broken open, revealing the inside. He likely died on impact, but the pain for that brief second...
Nagisa felt sick. He willed himself not to throw up as he stared down. While Carrack was dead, he had succeeded where no other had done before.
He had killed Alex Rider.
"I'm sorry..." Nagisa whispered, tears beginning to well in his eyes. "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry..."
And he hung there, clutching the nylon rope of the yo-yo, unable to stop himself from letting a final pained scream into the air.
But the scream was not from physical pain.
Conclusion[]
KO!
ARCTAS: God damn... no one deserved that... and how's Nagisa gonna get down?
RUKASU: Both Nagisa and Alex were incredibly skilled fighters, both in hand-to-hand and with their weapons of choice. But while Alex proved to be a formidable opponent, Nagisa had every tool he needed to end the MI6 agent.
ARCTAS: Alex was definitely physically stronger, with his karate training keeping him in top shape over most of his life. But being able to punch harder wouldn't do much if you couldn't LAND that punch to begin with.
RUKASU: Nagisa's speed is absurd for someone like him, both in moving and in reactions. He has trained to fight beings that can move at Mach 20, meaning his reactionary speed can be compared to that level as well.
ARCTAS: Not to mention that Alex never had to push to become faster at fighting since he only fights normal humans. His reaction speed can therefore be simply human level, or, to be generous, around one second.
RUKASU: However, Nagisa trained to be able to fight at 0.0032 seconds, which is FAR faster than anything Alex has shown.
ARCTAS: Alex wasn't left completely out to dry, though. Most of the gadgets he's had over the series can counter Nagisa's stealth, and he's definitely had more experience with life-threatening situations than Nagisa.
RUKASU: However, Alex wouldn't have had many options to counter Nagisa's emotional manipulation, or, God forbid, that Clap Stunner. One clap to the face was really all Nagisa needed to end the fight then and there.
ARCTAS: But there is one area that put the nail in the coffin; their durability.
RUKASU: Alex AND Nagisa's biggest durability feats would be when they were launched into space. And their reaction to it is what seals this match-up. While Alex showed clear negative effects to the pressure of the atmosphere, Nagisa looked completely unharmed when taking that same pressure.
ARCTAS: Meaning that Nagisa can no-cel something that visibly really harmed Alex. Really, Alex's only option was to beat Nagisa physically, and he wasn't doing that with Nagisa's speed.
RUKASU: Alex was an incredible combatant and extremely skilled spy, but skill and training alone couldn't match Nagisa's speed, stealth and out-of-this-world durability.
ARCTAS: Alex octo-push-ed for victory, but Nagisa took a hard ride for the gold.
RUKASU: The winner is Nagisa Shiota.

Trivia[]
The connections between Nagisa Shiota and Alex Rider is that they are both teenagers from grounded takes on classic genres (anime and spy thriller) who are thrown into a world of uncertainty and danger after a life-changing event in their lives (the moon exploding and Ian Rider's death). They are recruited and forced into their dangerous work by their country's government to be nothing more than hired guns, but they prove that their skill in their respective fields is off the charts (assassination and espionage). Both boys have a best friend who is seen as jokey but caring (Karma Akabane and Tom Harris), and a female companion who harbours romantic feelings for them (Kaede Kayano and Sabina Pleasure). Their appearance is often a source for underestimation (feminine looks and seemingly underweight build), which only leads to them succeeding more often than not. When faced with a deadly choice that involves their loved ones, they instantly always choose them over whatever is on the line, be it their life or others. While seen as generally kind-hearted and likeable boys, both can show a violent and murderous side when they believe their loved ones to be harmed or dead, leading to them acting irrationally. Both work hard to push through trauma to become the best versions of themselves, so that they're always ready to help save the world whenever they are needed.
