History[]
Mitsuko Souma was a third-year junior high school student living in the authoritarian nation of the Republic of Greater East Asia. She was a socially awkward loner who had no friends. She was also mentally disturbed due to the years of physical and sexual abuse that she suffered.
Eventually, Mitsuko was kidnapped by the government, and forced to participate in a “Battle Royale.” Periodically, the government holds a Battle Royale, where 50 students are taken to an island, and issued weapons, and forced to fight each other until only one student is left alive.
Mitsuko was issued a sickle as her weapon, but she was later able to acquire a pistol. She did very well in the Battle, killing eight students before she herself was finally killed.

Mitsuko is a beautiful young Asian woman with a seductive smile, which has been described as a “fallen angel’s smile.” A common outfit for her is her school uniform, which consists of a white blouse with red tie, beige jacked and matching skirt, and thigh-high black socks.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Craftiness – Mitsuko’s greatest weapon is her cunning and manipulativeness. She has been known to use seduction to pacify an opponent before killing him.
- Marksmanship – She is very good with a pistol, being careful not to waste ammunition. For example, when she killed Kayoko Kotohiki, she did it with only one shot to the heart.
- Hand-to-hand combat – Though she is not a martial artist, Mitsuko is a tough and vicious opponent. She did not hesitate to kill with the sickle she was given, even slitting Megumi Eto’s throat with it. Kazuo Kiriyama had to shoot her numerous times before she finally succumbed to her wounds.
Weapons and Equipment[]
At the beginning of the Battle Royale, Mitsuko was given a sickle to use as a weapon. During the course of the Battle she was able to acquire a stun gun and a pistol from opponents that she killed.
