Michael Afton is the son of William Afton, and is one of the main protagonists of the video game series, Five Nights at Freddy's.

History[]

Michael Afton is the first child of William Afton, and is the elder brother of Elizabeth Afton. After she died in the hands of Circus Baby, William Afton sent Michael to free her in Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental. After 5 nights of working there, he was scooped by Ennard as it used his skin to blend in with the humans and escape. However, after Michael's skin started rotting, Ennard left the body as Michael's corpse laid on the ground before he was presumably revived by Elizabeth Afton. He found Elizabeth alongside his father William, who was now inside Springtrap, in Freddy Fazbears Pizza place, which was intentionally caught on fire by Henry to free him, Elizabeth, and his son Charlie, and send William to hell.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Peak Human Physique: During his early tenure at Freddy's[3][2], it was likely Michael was physically superior to the average man, given that peak physical fitness was a mandatory requirement for the position of a security guard.
    • Limited Superhuman Strength: For a week, Michael briefly possessed Ennard's strength when the latter used his body as a skin suit[1]
  • Limited Superhuman Speed: While Michael has not demonstrated speed faster than that of a normal human's, for a week however, he briefly possessed Ennard's speed when the latter used his body as a skin suit[1]. Ennard should be far faster than the likes of Foxy, who's faster than an athlete[2], and can cross several meters in a split second[3].
  • Likely Superhuman Relexes and Reactions: Throughout his career, Michael has been able to react and outpace various animatronics, who can move at speeds comparable to peak humans[2] and cross large distances in several seconds[3]. He has been able to tag his father[4], who can move this quickly while crawiling through vents [18.18 m/s][5], and can react to driving a car at 200 MPH (89.4 m/s)[6].
  • Superhuman Durability: While offensively inferior, Michael has consistantly survived attacks[1] and brutal maulings from animatronics such as Funtime Foxy, Scrap Baby, Ennard, Lefty and even his father[4]. All of whom are more than capable of overpowering physically-fit humans, crushing skulls, and tearing adults apart.
  • Unlimited Stamina: Long before he was scooped, Michael's stamina was on par with peak humans. Throughout his entire career, he's[3] survived[2] a total[1] of 174[5] hours[4] fending off groups of hostile animatronics with little opportunity for rest. After being scooped[1], Michael became a living corpse; no longer requiring mortal sustenance such as food, water, and sleep.[1]
  • Gifted Intellect: Like his father, Michael is a very intelligent and highly successful buisnessman, he was able to create a fully-fledged pizzeria that was able to successfully fool and lure four bloodlusted animatronics to their deaths[4]. Throughout his career, he was[3] able to[2] outwit almost[1] every animatronic, except for his father[5]. Michael has also been shown to be well-adept with technology.[1]
  • Stealth Mastery: Michael boasts excellent prowess in stealth, during his time at Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental[1]. He was able to sneak past the likes of Ballora, Funtime Foxy, and even Ennard in an alternate ending.[1]
    • According to official blueprints[1], Ballora has a collision sensor[1], Funtime Foxy can detect motion and subtle changes in light[1], and Ennard likely has Funtime Freddy's 360 degree scanner and ability to detect individuals in the surrounding area[1].
  • Indomitable Will: Similar to his father, Michael's willpower is utterly exceptional. He's endured constant nightmares, trauma, and life-threatening situations. During his time[3] as a night guard[2], no matter how stressful[5] and overwhelming the weeks got[1], Michael never gave up or cracked, instead he pushed beyond his limits and survived almost every shift he took[4]. After being scooped, Michael endured having all his insides carved out and Ennard forcing their way into his empty body to use as a makeshift skinsuit[1]. For a week straight, Ennard used his still-conscious body to venture the outside world, however, on the final day Michael's body had become rotten. Unable to take it anymore, Michael was able to purge Ennard from his body, violently vomiting out the animatronic into a nearby sewer grate, only after doing so did Michael finally die. However due to the remnant imbued in his body, Michael regained consciousness and continued to live on despite his severely-decrepit state[1]. Undeterred by the serious trauma he just experienced, Michael resumed his quest to right his father's wrongs.[5][4]
  • Hacking: Michael has proficient skill when it comes to hacking technology, During his tenure at Freddy's, he was able to tamper with 10 different animatronics[3][2], though it did result in his termination from both establishments. He later became a technician for Circus Baby's Pizza World/Entertainment and Rental respectively[1].
  • Technology Manipulation: During his time at Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental.[1] Michael could manipulate the technology in the facility with HandUnit. Examples of this include being able remotely open and close maintenance hatches. The latter also applying to Internal Repairs, not to mention he can also customize HandUnit's voice and music settings.[1]
  • Limited Electricity Manipulation: Michael is capable of electrocuting and stunning his opponents with his taser[4]
  • Light Manipulation: Michael is able to illuminate dark areas with his flashlight[3]. He can also do this with a Flash Beacon.[1]
  • Remnant Physiology: After being hit by the Scooper, he was unknowingly injected with Remnant[1], a mysterious, supernatural substance that can grant a varity of abilities...
    • Immortality: The most prominent abilty Remnant users possess is immortality. Michael is blessed with eternal life[7] and can survive injuries fatal to mortal men, this is demonstrated by the fact he was able to live on as a decayed corpse after having his bones, muscles, nerves, and internal organs violently carved out by Ennard.[1] Remnant also has resurrective properties, able to make people and things that are lost, almost real again[8]. If Michael's physical body is destroyed, his soul can go on to possess objects and corpse. Unless his remnant is burned away[4], Michael is incapable of dying.
    • Extrasensory Perception: After being imbued with Remnant[1], Michael likely gained the ability to percieve and interact with spirits. He should scale to Carlton, who demonstrated this ability after Afton injected him with Remnant.[9]. He should also be comparable to his father, who seemingly had this ability as well[5]
    • Statistics Amplification and Accelerated Development: By feeding on Remnant, Michael can vastly improve his abilities and increase his physical statistics[10]
    • Self-Sustenance: Michael no longer needs to eat, sleep, drink, or even breathe[1][4]. It's been implied[11] that other remnant users like Yellow Rabbit and all haunted animatronics don't require these needs.
  • Immunity to Pain: Upon being scooped, Michael had all of his insides violently carved out[1], reducing him to nothing but an empty, rotten corpse[1], because of this unwilling transformation, Michael is incapable of feeling any physical pain.[4]
  • Immunity to Bone Manipulation: Due to having his skeleton carved out by the scooper[1], Michael is completely immune to all forms of bone manipulation.[4]
  • Resistance to Illusion Creation: During his time as a night guard, Michael would suffer brief, frightening, and vivid hallucinations created by both, the possessed animatronics[2], and his father[5]. But by the events of Pizzeria Simulator, Michael no longer experiences such illusions, implying that he has now become immune to them[4]

Arsenal[]

  • Cameras: Arguably Michael's most useful tool, he can use this to check the camera systems of wherever he's at, with this, he also has a few other tools at his disposal
    • Audio Lure: With this, Michael can play audio to distract opponents, and could theoretically damage those with sensitive hearing
    • Flashlight: It can be used to light up room that he is viewing with the monitor
  • Flashlight: A simple flashlight which can light up whatever's in front of Michael
  • Flash Beacon: A tool which allows Michael to shoot a large flash of light, whcih could blind opponents.
  • Controlled Shock Keypad: A keypad with 2 options: One to light up the area in front of it, and the other to emit a large blast of electricity to stun foes, most likely comparable to a police taser.
  • Freddy Head: A large mask of Freddy Fazbear which can be used to fool some opponents, can also be used as possible defense for Michael's head
  • Taser:A basic taser used to zap anybody
  • Doors:Metal doors that block out anybody.
  • Lights:Can help him see in the hallways.

Feats[]

  • Survived being scooped,the scooper is the same machine that can tear out endoskelotons.
  • Has survived having Ennard in his body for weeks and can still move and function despite being a rotted corpse("i should be dead,but i'm not).
  • Possibly has the strength of Ennard and nearly all the other Animatronics
    • If this is true than he should be able to match the likes of Freddy, Foxy, Fredbear and even William himself.So its possible that he can be scaled to Freddy and the Gang who can tear apart Arcade machines and crush skulls
  • A great business man,just like his father.
  • Can react to the animatronics,which includes foxy who can run at 20 miles per second.
  • Can handle many tasks while dealing with animatronics(EX:Ordering supplies while fending off animatronics like Molten Freddy).
  • Accidentally killed his brother.
  • Can stay up for a long time all while defending himself from animatronics.
  • Survived at least more than 15 nights from dealing with killer animatronics.
  • Salvaged the 4 remaining animatronics which lead to them getting burnt to the ground.
  • Uses strategies like putting on the Freddy head and using the vocal cues to fend off and fool the animatronics(Though to be fair,most of the animatronics are possessed by children).
  • Can restrain a Biddybad from opening a small door.

  • Most of his tools require power to use and aren't designed to be weapons.
  • Not as immortal as it may seem (Presumably died in the fire alongside William, Elizabeth, Henry and Charlie.
  • Is still a decomposed human.
  • Most of his tools are also designed to defend himself.
