History[]
Metro Man is one of the last two survivors of dying alien races in the Glaupunk Quadrant. He grew up to be everything. Megamind, the other survivor, was not. He was raised by a wealthy adoptive family, he was beloved by his peers, he possessed dashing good looks and would grow to be a revered symbol of truth and justice.
However as the years went by, he and Megamind were winded into a schtick that felt too repetitive to him. Worn down mentally by the very same charade gone through his entire life as a hero and a protector and realizing that he had the ability to make choices in his life, Metro Man faked his death, and went into hiding as a musician and singer-songwriter.
He was later discovered by Roxanne Ritchie and Megamind, and divulged his reasons for abandoning his hero persona. He outright refused to help them against Tighten, who had turned evil, encouraging Megamind to instead take up the role of Metro City's protector.
He later appeared in the ending disguised as an ordinary citizen, proud that Megamind became the hero the city wanted.
Death Battle Info[]
Powers and Abilities[]
- Superhuman Strength: Metro Man is incredibly strong, as just a baby he was able to carry his adoptive mother. He's also physically superior to Tighten who was strong enough to send a bus flying with a kick, lift a large sphere of copper and throw the top of a large skyscraper. Megamind considers Metro Man to be far above all his weapons and technology, which includes the Dehydration Gun, which was able to eclipse a 10-mile-wide asteroid in explosive diameter.
- Superhuman Speed: Metro Man is capable of easily flying at speeds fast enough to break the sound barrier and is capable of moving so fast that time almost stands still. He's far superior to Megamind, who's dodged lightning. He also dodged the Death Ray at the last second and saw it moving in slow motion. The Death Ray has been repeatedly stated to be a light-based laser.
- Invulnerability: Metro Man is blessed with invulnerability, allowing him to shrug off almost any impact without a scratch. Megamind implies that Metro Man is stronger than all of his weaponry and technology, as he fully expected Metro Man to survive the Death Ray, which can atomize targets and was powerful enough to obliterate an observatory along with a portion of a cliff.
- Flight: Metroman is capable of flying and levitating with ease
- Enhanced Senses: Has telescopic sight which allows him to see over great distances, he also has X-ray vision.
- Heat Vision: Metro Man is able to fire superheated lasers from his eyes
- Resistance to High Heat: Metro Man is shown able to withstand high heat, as a kid he was able to suck up a small fire, He was also completely unharmed levitating near the epicenter of the explosion caused from Megamind's death ray
Feats[]
- As a baby he was strong enough to carry around his adoptive mother
- Has defeated and outsmarted Megamind on numerous occasions
- Effortlessly punched through a brick wall
- Moved fast enough to spend an entire day's worth of activities across Metro City, from flying kites to reading a multitude of library books, by the time he returned as if it appeared that no time had taken place
- Tricked Megamind into thinking his weakness was copper
- Was completely unfazed being near the epicenter of Megamind's Death Ray
- Shrugged off hits from several trophies, a stereo and a guitar
- It's believed that Metroman is stronger than Tighten as the latter was terrified and immedietly surrendered when he saw Megamind disguised as Metroman. Considering that the plan was devised by Megamind, who was also the one who gave Tighten his powers, this would imply that even Megamind doesn't see Tighten on the same level as Metro man. Tighten also doesn't see himself in Metro Man's league either.
- Superior to Tighten, who lifted and threw the top of a large skyscraper
- Dug a tunnel straight to the Earth's core
- Heavily implied to be capable of destroying a 10-mile-wide asteroid

Trivia[]
- According to an early Megamind script, Metroman's secret identity is Wayne Scott however it's unknown whether or not it made it into the final script although it's still a possibility considering his adoptive family's name was also Scott.
