Description[]
Sonic the Hedgehog vs. Dragon Ball Z! Two perfect creations designed to surpass and kill the protagonist will fight. Does Metal Sonic have what it takes to take down Cell?
Interlude[]
Wiz: Copy cats. They know your every move and have the ability to take it and use it for themselves.
Boomstick: Like Metal Sonic, Dr. Eggman's most deadliest machine
Wiz: And Cell, Dr. Gero's most deadliest creation
Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle
Metal Sonic[]
(Cues Stardust Speedway theme)
Wiz: Sonic the Hedgehog. For years the egg shaped Dr. Ivo Robotnik created many inventions to try to take down this speedy hero.
Boomstick: But he wasn't very successful and Sonic defeated everything the Egg could throw at him.
Wiz: However, only one of his creations came close and was almost successful at taking down Sonic
Boomstick: Metal Sonic
(Cues Sonic CD Final Boss theme)
Wiz: Metal Sonic was created to surpass Sonic in every way and was successful.
Boomstick: He can reach top speeds faster than Sonic, which is impressive since Sonic has shown he can move at light speed
Wiz: Some of metal's abilities include Sonic's famous spindash and homing attack.
Boomstick: He's also got this impenetrable black shield too. Ain't nothing getting through or breaking this baby.
Wiz: However he does lose speed and can't move when uses the shield.
Boomstick: He also has a chest laser and the maximum overdrive attack, where he overloads his circuits to create this glowy energy field that burns through pretty much anything.
Wiz: But his best ability is definitely his ability to copy anything.
(Cues Metallic Madness Zone Theme)
Wiz: Metal Sonic has the ability to scan and copy data from others, flawlessly replicating their abilities.
Boomstick: With this ability he's able to copy other people's combat techniques, fighting moves, and superhuman abilities that are unique to specific individuals, like chaos powers, ESP, superhuman strength, invisibility, you name it! If you can do it, Metal Sonic can do it too
Wiz: With chaos control, Metal can stop time or teleport himself or other objects with him. He can also transform into Neo Metal form which....actually only makes him look cooler and gives him the ability to shapeshift and mimic a physical form.
Boomstick: But let's not forget his two best forms. Metal Madness and Metal Overlord
Wiz: Uh Boomstick we actually...
Boomstick: I mean this guy, in metal overlord, is too OP!
Wiz: Yeah I know but....
Boomstick: He's so powerful that it took not one, not two, but three super forms to take him down! And there chances of taking them down were still slim!
Wiz: BOOMSTICK!
Boomstick: What?
Wiz: We actually can't use those forms
Boomstick: WHAT!?
Wiz: They required Metal to use eggman's machines to achieve the form. And since he's not here...
Boomstick: But even without those forms, he sounds invincible
Wiz: Well not exactly. Though he might be faster than Sonic. MIGHT. He can't maintain his speed as long as his rival. He's also cocky and arrogant. Also, while he can imitate a physical form, he can't copy things like durability or regeneration somehow.
Boomstick: And though he was designed to kill Sonic, he obviously never succeeded. Mostly due to Sonic's luck and friends. But none of that matters. Metal Sonic is one of the deadliest robots in fiction.
Metal Sonic: All living things kneel before your master.

Wiz: Goku. Goku is a tenacious saiyan who, at one point in his life, fought the Red Ribbon Army. When the Red Ribbon Army was destroyed, a former scientist named Dr. Gero created the perfect weapons to fight off the Z-fighters. More specifically, Goku.
Boomstick: Androids
Wiz: Well more like cyborgs
Boomstick: After awakening the Androids, 16, 17 and 18, they thanked Dr. Gero the best way they knew how. Early retirement.
(Android 17 sstomps on Dr. Gero's functioning, decapitated head, killing him)
Boomstick: With Goku out sick at this time, things just couldn't get any worse. Oh wait that's right it did.
Wiz: Turns out, the androids were just the beginning to something more deadly and more terrifying.
Boomstick: Dr. Gero's ultimate creation. Cell.
Wiz: For years Dr. Gero had been analyzing every fight the Z-fighters had on Earth, including the Z-fighters vs. Mecha Frieza. Coping all their moves and genetic code, Gero gave it all to the handmade organism named Cell, making him into an ultimate lifeform.
Boomstick: Perfect Cell has a crap load of abilities. He has hypersonic flight, telekinesis, many ki attacks. His techniques also includes Solar flare which he stole from Krillin, Special Beam Canon which he stole from Piccolo, Death Saucer, Death Beam, Instant Transmission, Multi-form(where he splits into four clones), Kamehameha, and the Spirit Bomb.
Wiz: He can also use Cell Juniors which Cell can asexually produce. They're not as powerful as Cell but they have his same abilities.
Boomstick: There's also Zenkai. A genetic trait that allows saiyans to get stronger when they're near death.
Wiz: But his best ability is definitely his tail.
(Cell eats man alive, while Piccolo watches)
Boomstick: DBZ is just filled with the most disgusting things I've ever seen. First Buu's absorption and now this. Ewwww
Wiz: Cell uses the stinger on his tail to pierce him victims body and suck all of their biomass, which actually heals him. He can also use it to swallow a person whole and add to his power. This is how he copies other abilities
Boomstick: Cell's most powerful moves are his suidcide bomb and regeneration. Suidcide bomb can destroy a planet in a minute and his regeneration allows him to survive even the deadliest blows.
Wiz: But he is not invincible. He's very cocky and arrogant and prefers to fight his opponents at there full potential. Also if all his cells are destroyed in body, he's dead.
Boomstick: And if he tries to stick his tail in something inorganic, he won't be able to absorb them that way because of the lack of biomass. But Cell is definitely one of DBZ's most terrifying foes.
Cell: Your boring lives are about to get a lot more interesting thanks to me. I have enjoyed terrorizing Earth but now I have something far more entertaining planned for this pathetic planet
Intermission[]
Wiz: Alright the combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all!
Boomstick: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTTTTTTTLE!
DEATH BATTLE: The Perfect Killing Lifeforms[]
Sonic was running as fast as he can. Someone was following him and he was trying to escape it.
Sonic: Look green marshmallow. Leave me alone! Go eat some one else
Cell: All I want is your speed rodent
Cell soon stopped and put two fingers on his foreheard. He then instant transmissioned in front of Sonic, grabbed him and stuck his tail in him.
Sonic: AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Cell: Yes! Oh Yes!
While Sonic was getting drained a voice came out of nowhere.
???: Chaos....Spear
A chaos spear hit Cell, causing him to take his tail out of Sonic. When he looked up he saw a robot descending to the ground.
Sonic: Huh? Why are you saving me
???: I was created for sole purpose of destroying you. Only I get to kill you. No one else
Sonic: Thanks, I guess
Cell: Who are you?
???: My name is Metal Sonic.
Cell: I'm Cell. Stand out of my way. You're interrupting me and my feast
Metal: No one kills him except me.
Cell: Well it looks like I'm going to kill him
Metal: No I'm going to kill him
Cell: No I am
Metal: No I am
Sonic:(*Maybe I should just go)
Sonic ran off at full speed, escaping.
Cell: See now you made him run off. I hope you said your prayers because you're going to need them.
Metal Sonic began to scan Cell.
Metal: All life form data successfully copied.
Cell: Let's rock
FIGHT!
Cell fired a death beam but Metal Sonic dodged it. Metal then dashed towards Cell and spin dashed his arm off.
Cell: AHHHHHHHH! What!? I can't be beaten by a robot I'm the ultimate lifeform
Metal looked at Cell emotionless
Cell: Naw I'm just kidding
Cell regenerated and regrew a an arm.
Cell: Did you really think that this fight was over that quickly?
Metal: No. I already know you can regenerate
Cell: Huh? How did you...
Metal: I can scan your life data. I know your every move
Cell: (*Hmmm interesting. He seems to be like another version of me. Let's see if I can absorb him) Oh yeah well guess what?
Metal: What?
Cell: SOLAR FLARE!
Metal was blinded by the light and cell soon grabbed Metal and tried to stick him with his tail. Cell however couldn't penetrate Metal.
Cell: What?!
Metal Sonic: CHAOS...CONTROL!
Metal Sonic then teleported out of Cell's hands and reappeared behind him.
Metal Sonic: That won't work.
Cell: Hmmmmm...inorganic huh? It doesn't matter if I copy you or not. You're still no match for me. Kah....me....ha...me...HAAAAAAAAAA!
The Kahmehameha was heading straight for Metal Sonic. An explosion occurred. Cell believed he finished off Metal Sonic, but when the smoke cleared Cell saw Metal was protected by a black shield. Metal then turned off his black shield and began to do a spindash very rapidly. Cell dashed towards Metal Sonic. Metal Sonic stopped spinning and got ready.
Metal: Ready? Go lightspeed attack!
Metal began to hit Cell with so many punches at light speed.
Cell: Fool you think that'll stop me
Cell then grabbed Metal Sonic and threw him into the ground hard. Cell laughed.
Cell then threw an attack at Metal Sonic.
Cell: Death Saucer!!!
Metal saw the saucer coming towards him and managed to avoid it just in time. Metal then took out a chaos emerald and transformed himself into Neo Metal Sonic.
Cell: Whoa! That was like so cool. But transformations won't save you bud.
Cell then released the cell juniors to attack Metal Sonic. However Metal Sonic performed chaos blast to blow them back and disintegrated them.
Cell: What!
Metal: Give up now. You're nothing compared to me
Cell: WHAT DID YOU SAY! I'M NOTHING COMPARED TO YOU! I'LL SHOW YOU! I'LL BLOW UP THIS PLANET IF I HAVE TOO!
Metal: Wait What?
Cell then transformed into a giant fatter version of himself. He transformed into suidcide bomb.
Cell: HAHAHAHA! Yes! In one minute you can kiss this planet goodbye!
Metal: What do I do? What do I do?
25 seconds pass
Metal: I got it!
Metal touched Cell.
Metal: CHAOS.......CONTROL!
Metal and Cell disappeared and reappeared in a random part of space.
Cell: What!
Metal: Bye Bye. Chaos......Control!
Metal Sonic disappeared and left Cell to blow up in space. Metal reappeared and saw the explosion happen in space.
Metal: Finally that's over
But then storm clouds appeared. Metal look up at the clouds and saw a special beam cannon appear and dodged it.
Metal: Impossible!
Cell: HAHAHAHA! I should thank you Metal Sonic. Thanks to you, you let me have a near death experience. HAHAHAHA! You didn't defeat me. ALL YOU DID WAS MAKE ME STRONGER! And now I will finish off this battle, once and for all.
Cell got into a pose.
Cell: SAY GOOD BYE! KAH......ME......HA.......ME.......
Metal Sonic: It is time to finish this. CHAOS.......
Cell: ....HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Metal: ........CONTROL
Time froze right before the kahmehameha hit Metal. Metal Sonic then went behind Cell and got into a pose.
Metal Sonic: Let me tell you something. When you're burning in the after life just remember....I AM THE ULTIMATE LIFEFORM. KAH.......ME.......HA......ME......HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Time soon resumed but it was too late for Cell. The kahmehameha began to incinerate him.
Cell: NO! I AM PERFECTION!
The rest of Cell's body disintegrated. Metal Sonic was relieved that he finally finished the battle. Metal began to laugh
Metal: All living things kneel to your master
K.O!
Metal Sonic flies off

Boomstick: Wait What! That did not just happened
Wiz: Oh but it did. Cell was more than a match for Metal Sonic. He may have the abilities of the Z-fighters and is more durable, but it wasn't enough to defeat Metal Sonic.
Boomstick: Yeah it also doesn't help that while Metal Sonic can easily copy Cell's abilities, Cell's chances of copying Metal Sonic are very very slim.
Wiz: Metal can easily copy Cell's stats, techniques, fighting moves, strength, and speed because all he has to do is scan him.
Boomstick: Yeah while Cell on the other hand has to try to catch him with his tail. Also he can't absorb and copy Metal Sonic's abilities because he's inorganic and lacks biomass. Just like Android 16, who Cell couldn't absorb.
Wiz: Also even though Cell can swallow him with his tail, his chances of Metal Sonic getting swallowed are very slim because of his speed, black shield, and can just use chaos control to teleport out of there.
Boomstick: And while the suicide bomb would of definitely killed Metal Sonic, it doesn't help that it takes 1 minute to go off, giving Metal plenty of time to chaos control him somewhere else to stay safe.
Wiz: Finally, Metal Sonic has more abilities than Cell to choose from. He has all the moves from Sonic Heroes and will gain Cell's abilities and can perfect them. While Cell only has his own abilities to work with. He's basically fighting all Sonic characters + himself
Boomstick: Cell just wasn't perfect enough for Metal Sonic.
Wiz: The winner is Metal Sonic

Rush: In the year 1984, Akira Toriyama created one of the most popular series to day...Dragon Ball Z. The series was starred a young alien named Goku,destined to be the best fighter there was.
Bolt: Over the years, Goku grew over time. Starting from child to adulthood in no time. Many years after the creation of Goku, many series have been inspired by the Dragon Ball Series. Ranging from Naruto to One Piece to RWBY and many more.
Rush: But in 1991, one of Goku's greatest rivals appeared on the scene.
Bolt: Sonic the Hedgehog.
(Cue Stardust Speedway Bad Future US - Sonic Generations)
Bolt: How could a blue talking rat be one of Goku's most well known rival? Well there's many reasons.
Rush: The main reason Sonic and Goku became rivals were due to the many similarities between the characters. Ranging from care free heroes who give it their all to save the planet (Sonic and Goku) to the moody, angst anti-heroes (Shadow and Vegeta) to the warriors from the future (Silver and Trunks).
Bolt: Not to mention that in 1992 Sonic gained one of the BIGGEST inspirations from DBZ history. The ability to transform into a super saiyan.
Rush: And then there's the ultimate lifeform creation, who was created with the uncanny ability to copy moves, and with the sole purpose of killing the protagonist.
Bolt: Metal Sonic and Cell.
(Cues Sonic CD Final Boss theme)
Rush: Both Metal Sonic and Cell possess the uncanny ability to copy their opponent's abilities. Metal Sonic does it by scanning his opponent while Cell suck the DNA out of his foes.
Bolt: The two obviously have faults to their copying. Metal cannot copy the durability of his opponents and Cell can't absorb or copy the DNA of inorganic lifeforms.
Rush: Since the last match, Metal Sonic has done MAJOR upgrading since the last fight.
Bolt: Yeah remember how we said he can't keep up Sonic at light speed or he'll melt his engines? Yeah turns out that was the v2 model of Metal. In the Archie comics, V3 Metal Sonic was too much for base Sonic and Scourge to handle.
Rush: As for Cell, there was the quote that he can destroy the solar system. However we take that with a tiny bit of salt since not much was shaking or being destroyed in his final fight with Teen Gohan.
Bolt: Still, even if he's not Metal Sonic and Perfect Cell are capable fighters. Able to use their new found abilities as a great advantage in battle. But who will prevail this time?

Thunder: Metal Sonic Vs. Cell!
Metroid: The Greatest Creation of Dr. Eggman Vs. The Perfect Android.
He's Metroid and I'm Thunder!
Metroid: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Metal Sonic goes into Maximum Overdrive![]
Metroid: Dr. Eggman was a man with a dream; one formerly of peace. But after neglect from his family due to Maria, even after her demise...Eggman became cynical.
Thunder: I mean, he IS a genius, but having your skills ignored will tick off just about anybody. Eggman soon fell to darkness, becoming a guy determined to take over the world with machines! I don't approve of his methods but hey, more robo buddies!
Metroid: Of course, his first attempt at conquest fell short as Eggman had a problem; a blue Hedgehog by the name of Sonic. But being the big genius he is, Eggman didn't stop. In fact, he decided to make his nemesis an equal.
Thunder: Yeah, one of the most badass bots to ever walk the Earth, Metal Sonic!
BACKGROUND:

Affiliation: Eggman Empire
Likes: Speed, Racing, Dr. Eggman
Dislikes: Sonic...like, alot, it's kinda concerning.
Eggman's son and Sage's Big Bro
Had a rebellious phase
Metroid: While the Doctor's inventions ranged from plain silly to flat out bizarre in his earlier years, Sonic's metal doppelganger was genuinely a pretty tough bot to beat. With Eggman having placed many abilities into Metal Sonic, he wasn't the average badnik.
Thunder: Duh. Metal's got the ability to summon enormous orbs of energy or pillars and a Plasma Pulse Attack he can use, firing a laser from his chest! Or the Black Shield, which creates a diamond-shaped shield that protects him from attacks and even can trap parts of people in it, like when Surge's hand got stuck in it.
Metroid: Metal also has an ability called the Ring Spark Field, which covers him in a field of electricity that destroys anything it could touch. And his V. Maximum Overdrive move has Metal overload his own circuits,surrounding himself with electricity before blasting off at high speeds, hitting with a tackle that moves at light speed.
Thunder: But thats not all Metal has! He can access those shields Sonic and co. use like the normal one which takes a hit for him, the Thunder Shield which makes him immune to electrical attacks and reflect small projectiles, and the Bubble Shield reflects minor projectiles and...uh, its supposed to help breathe underwater but Metal is a robot, and we robots DON'T drown.
Metroid: Metal can also access the power sneakers which increase his speed further, and being a doppelganger of Sonic means he has some abilities of the Blue Blur on his person such as the Spin Dash and Homing Attack. But his copycat acts don't end there.
Thunder: Because Metal is able to copy the biodata of people he's fighting! This led to him learning some neat tricks like Sonic's Sonic Boom! ...No, no the move where he blasts past the sound barrier, not the crappy game and good show.
Metroid: From Shadow the Hedgehog he learned Chaos Control, allowing him to stop time for about 10 seconds, and Chaos Spear, where he harnesses Chaos Energy before throwing bolts of it at his foes, either to simply stun, or to do heavy damage.
Thunder: He copied stuff from Knuckles too, like his Hammer Punch, where he punches the ground so hard flames erupt, or Knuckles Slam, where he punches the floor and gains a fire barrier around him!
Metroid: Chroma Camo is copied from Espio, and lets him turn invisible. With Rouge's data, he gains access to her Bat Guard ability, summoning six artifical bats to shield himself, or send them at enemies, exploding on contact. And with Silver's data, he can use psychokinesis, reversing their sense of direction, and with Eggman's data he has his intellect.
Thunder: Yeah, things are getting wild. But he also has a transformation known as Neo Metal Sonic, which lets him shapeshift his body freely, perfectly mimic other people's forms. He also finally learned how to speak and can control electricity, which control one of Eggman's airships! Man, Metal takes after me!
Metroid: Well, until Eggman removed his rebellious coding.
Thunder: Aw...he was better that way.
Metroid: But he still is a huge threat; do keep in mind he was designed to surpass Sonic in everyway. Sonic is capable of fighting foes who can asorb half of a full universe, such as Erazor Djinn, in base form. He can also scale to the Final Egg Blaster, which reached distant stars in seconds, calced at about 56 billion times the speed of light. But there's one thing to note; Metal can also access the power of the Chaos Emeralds.
Thunder: And when he does, he gains an aura similar to that of a super form and gets supercharged, allowing him to take on CLassic Sonic and CLassic Tails, and even Mighty and Ray all at once! And when he was in Neo form and used the Master Emerald, he turns into Super Neo Metal Sonic, which increases his stats and gives him the ability to fire energy blasts!
Metroid: And with Super forms, the scaling gets higher. As the Super Forms are able to contend with Solaris, who can consume entire dimensions and was going to end all of existence, cosmology scaling is needed here.
Thunder: The main universe, Sol Dimension, Arabian Nights, and Camelot all are parallel versions of each other. The Special stages are stated to take place in a full universe, the Shatterverse and Void from Sonic Prime stuck around, Cyber Space is consider beyond quantification, Maginaryland is considered a separate universe, hell Cyber Space could be bigger! We got a bare minimum 13x times universal, and while other realities exist in the Sonic franchise, they're either smaller scale or vague on their sizes so...
Metroid: And with speed, Time Eater destroyed the universe at speeds that were calculated at 122 and 183 Quadrillion times the speed of light, and could be argued higher with the other universes. To be honest, Dr. Eggman should consider him and Sage his magnum opus.
Thunder: I just know one day, Metal is gonna make his Papa proud! ...Wish I could make MY creator proud.
Cell is absolute perfection![]
Metroid: Son Goku, a tenacious, pure-hearted hero who fought for the world and journeyed for stronger foes. He's an inspiration for many, whether good, or bad.
Thunder: And bad fits with the idea this guy; Dr. Gero. After Goku dismantled the Red Ribbon Army, and maybe turned it into a cake shop, Dr. Gero went intl hiding, making the perfect Androids to try and kill Goku and the Z-Fighters. But when they awoken, uh....they let him take a nap. Permanently.
Metroid: And the worse part? Goku was sick with a disease. And even worse, those weren't his best creations; there was one that was the Ultimate; an Android known as Cell.

Metroid: Cell was the ultimate creation of Dr. Gero. With a device that got info on all the Z-Fighters, including Mecha Frieza. With all of these powers, Cell was already a force to be reckoned with, and had a psychotic streak to boot.
Thunder: Yeah, he was already strong, but he wanted to be Uber Strong. So why not eat people in the most HORRIFIC way possible? Each city he attacked, he gained more power, but his main goal was to absorb Android 17 and 18 cuz he'd reach his ultimate form; his perfect one!
Metroid: Which the Z-Fighters attempted to stop...if it weren't for Vegeta letting his pride get the better of him and letting him acquire the full power. However, Cell wanted to entertain himself; he would host the Cell Games, a challenge where various warriors would fight him. But if they lost...the Earth would be destroyed.
Thunder: And keep in mind, he's no slouch. He's got Master Martial Arts that make even Goku struggle, and a series of abilities he gained from all the cells he had gained, such as the Zenkai, a power that lets Cell get stronger everytime he nearly dies!
Metroid: He also has some techniques he learned from Goku; such as Instant Transmission, which warps users to targets with a energy signature, although requires concentration. Speaking of energy, Cell can manipulate his Ki, energy that is within his body and can be used in a variety of ways; flying, telekinesis, and many energy based moves.
Thunder: Such as the Solar Flare! This attack blinds anyone who gets hit by it, making it the perfect way to get a free hit in, or the Special Beam Cannon, which he got from Piccolo. After charging energy into his hand the dude fires out a beam with rings around it to drill through foes or make them explode!
Metroid: That's not all he gained from the Namekian; Cell has a ridiculous healing factor. Even if he loses an arm, has his upper torso obliterated or even blown to bits, Cell can come back. Essentially, only complete destruction of him could keep him down.
Thunder: He even has some tricks from Frieza! The Death Saucer has gim throw a disk of energy that cuts through foes, and the Death Beam is basically a deadly laser pointer. He can fire rapid fire, or long ranged!
Metroid: And with Tien's moves, Cell can use the Multi-Form technique, splitting into four clones, but each clone is weaker than the original. But most importantly, he has two techniques of Goku. Cell has claimed to be able to perform the Spirit Bomb, but he's never used it.
Thunder: But everyone knows this one: the Kamehameha! This beam of energy is so strong, Cell can destroy mountains or even planets!
Metroid: It's not just copy skills he has; he can create Cell Jr., a series of smaller hims that while weaker, are just as deadly. And he can manipulate his body in two ways; one being making himself more muscular at the cost of speed, a strength speed trade off.
Thunder: The other....well, he turns into a suicide bomb, inflating in size. After a minute, or a hit, he'll explode with enough force to wreck a planet!
Metroid: At full power, Cell has even claimed to be able to destroy a Solar System, with guidebooks even claiming so. And he's comparable to Gohan in the Cell Saga, who's speed was calculated yo be 43 million times light speed.
Thunder: Remember, this guy KILLED the oh-so unstoppable Goku. And he probably would have won, if it weren't for him having the same lust for battle.
Metroid: Just like Goku and Vegeta, he often let's his opponents get stronger, or better. And when he loses, he lashes out.
Thunder: Both fatal flaws led to Cell dying to Gohan, avenging his dad. Still, Cell was a MENANCE. All those destroyed cities, slaughtered fighters, were all done for his sick kicks.
Prelude[]
Metroid: Alright the combatants are set, and we've run the data through a possibilities.
Thunder: It's time for a Death Battle!
Pre-Fight[]
It had been 3 days since Cell had announced the Cell Games to the world. The entire planet was thrown into chaos, opting to hide, while a group of Fighters was training.
And Cell himself was awaiting the day it comes. As he awaited, he admittly found himself getting...bored. "Hm. Maybe I should've shorten the deadline..." He said, before something landed on the Arena. Turning to it, the smoke would clear...
And reveal Metal Sonic.
One day ago
Just before this, Metal was standing on the ledge of a grassy cliff, looking at the city that slowly emptied. Despite this, the robotic doppelganger just stared quietly, even as a newspaper showing the Cell Games announcement got caught on his legs, before flying away.
The Blue Robot was in thought.
How he fought against that Avenger.
How he wasn't ale to defeat him.
How he failed his creator.
"Brother."
The robotic Hedgehog turned to Sage, his 'sister'. Ever since Eggman's demise, the Eggman Empire had it rough, without the commanding leader.
Well, at least for Sage, it was rough, as he was her father. Ultimately, Metal was the one who had any form of loyalty.
"After months, I found something that can bring back father."
Metal's eyes flickers with interest.
"These items are called the Dragon Balls. If you gather all seven, they can grant any wish. At first, I was skeptical of such a thing, but further research proves otherwise."
Metal nodded, before Sage held her hand out. "However, there is a problem to deal with first; a creature by the name of Cell."
Metal crossed his arms.
"This being announced not long ago that he wishes to fight challengers. However, if none can beat him, he will destroy the planet. If Father is revived but no one can beat this being, our efforts would be meaningless. I implore you defeat this adversary first and foremost."
Metal's response was to merely pound his fist against his palm.
Back to present
"Hm. Judging by your stance, you came here to fight. I suppose you don't care about the deadline, do you?"
Metal merely clenched a fist before pointing at Cell, promoting the Android to smirk. "Heh. If so, we can call the Cell Games on...early."
Fight[]
Metal made the first move, charging towards Cell with a fist out. Cell smirked and caught his fist before he punched Metal and sent him flying, then launching a ki blast that hit the robot, causing an explosion.
Cell was about to scoff, just to see Metal fall to the floor and stick the landing, glaring at his opposition. "Tougher than you look, aren't you?" Cell noted. "This should be fun."
The Blue Blur's robotic counterpart simply revved up a spindash and blasted towards Cell. The Perfect Android blocked, but Metal quickly blasted away and struck the Android from behind. With Cell open, Metal uppercutted him into the air, before flying up and planting a foot into Cell's back, making the Android go tumbling through the air.
"Pretty good for an automaton. But not good enough." Cell responded, before firing a barrage of Ki Blasts that Metal weaved around, before launching forwards...
And clawing through Cell's neck. The robot blasted the head to ash, and turned to stare at the body...just to see it still flying and...reforming a new head?!
"Seems I underestimated you. Sadly, all you did was make me stronger." Cell taunted, before charging with Ki. Metal, caught offguard, was kicked in the neck before being caught in a barrage of attacks that ended with Cell hammer punching Metal down to the arena, breaking the ground.
Metal looked up, just for Cell to stomp on him, causing his eyes to glitch. "Is that all? A shame. I thought you'd be more." Cell smirked, before preparing a Death Beam. "Farewell."
The Hedgehog Doppelganger glared at the Android, before using ESP to mess with Cell's brain, causing him to fire the beam into the air. With that, Metal took advantage of the distracted foe and launched an enormous orb to blast Cell off him. Afterwards, he blasted into his chest taking them to a nearby mountain and smashing the front of it to rubble.
Metal reached for Cell again, but Cell gritted his teeth. "The rules stated the one who falls off LOSES. But it seems you don't care, so...let's remove the rule!"
Striking Metal with a chop, he sent Metal back to the arena, then as Metal landed, fired a giant Ki Blast at Metal who wasn't able to dodge...and thus caught in the blast that made the arena blow to pieces.
Cell looked into the crater, expecting a dismantled bot...just to see a green glow before the dust cloud dispersed. When he spotted Metal, he looked different...
...As he was now Neo Metal Sonic. Before long, Metal£. charged and clashed with Cell, both gripping each other's hands with glares towards the other. "So you can transform too, can you?"
"This will be the last of what you will see." Metal replied, making Cell smirk.
"Seems you finally got brave enough to speak your own mind." Cell taunted, before breaking the lock and grabbing Metal by the legs, spinning him around, before tossing the robot into the air.
Metal regained his balance, just to see a barrage of Death Beams. With a simple motion of his arms being crossed, Metal generated the Black Shield to block the barrage. Once cleared, he dropped the shield...just to be on the receiving end of a powerful knee to the gut, before getting struck with two kicks to the face, and a backhand that sent him flying.
"What was that claim? You'd be the last thing I see? It looks more like the opposite here."Cell mocked, before seeing Metal pause and just stare. "How does feel, being a machine that feels fear?"
Metal however, simply said this in reply.
"Cell biodata, successfully copied."
Without a word, Metal held a hand up created a Death Saucer, before throwing it at a stunned Cell, who was forced to dodge.
Sadly for Cell, that was what Metal wanted, as he used a Plasma Pulse Attack to catch the Android with the beam, blasting a hole through his body. And while Cell was able to regenerate from the attack, Metal quickly performed his V. Maximum Overdrive attack and tackled Cell.
The energy made Cell yell from the blow, but he kicked Metal off him and cupped his hand together.
He then uttered one key word.
“Kamehame…HA!”
A powerful energy beam flew towards Metal. The robot was able to dodge, but witnessed the beam strike a nearby mountain and obliterate it in one blow. The robotic Hedgehog, not fearful in the slightest, flew over to Cell and siezed him by the face.
He then would fly to floor, smashing the Android into the ground face first, before dragging him across the floor. Afterwards, he'd throw him up, and call lightning into his hand before punching him with an electrical fist.
Rolling across the floor, Cell stood up, bleeding from the mouth, but smirking. “Well aren't you full of surprises. Let me say, you're proving to be more of a challenge than those Saiyans.”
“I was designed to fight the world's fastest being. I will NOT fall to someone such as you!” Metal declared, before using a Homing Attack to cut through Cell. The Android effortlessly dodged the attack, despite its name, and grabbed Metal by the back of the head, and knee'd his back.
The creation of Dr. Eggman glitches a bit, before taking a page from one of his books, and punching the ground.
The impact was so strong, the ground erupted with lava…but alas, Cell didn't react. So Metal decided a different approach; using Black Shield to trap Cell's hand inside, making him let go in confusion.
The robotic Hedgehog then boosted up into the air, dragging Cell with him with the Android in position, Metal dropped the shield and boosted towards Cell, landing a barrage of rapid-fire kicks, at least until Cell blocked one. And with that, Cell did another series of blows before using a Death Beam that pushed Metal to ground.
Metal managed to land, but when Cell landed, the Android simply looked at him with a grin. “I can sense something…you're stronger than this, aren't you?” Cell inquired, Metal crossing his arms in reply. “Indeed. But I see no reason to utilize such power against someone I can destroy with ease.”
A smirk appeared on Cell's face, the Android putting on fake thoughtful look. “Is that so…? Then, allow me to up your stakes.”
From where his tail would be, out came many…smaller Cells. To be exact, they were Cell Jrs. “Attack this fool, Cell Juniors.” He grinned, Metal reeling his hand back and throwing Chaos Spheres at them.
The explosions engulfed the scene, but a bunch of Cell Jr.’s leaped out to attack. One kicked Metal in the face, and the other hit him in the gut. As the fight occurred, Cell utilized the Multi-Form technique, splitting into four that jumped onto Metal too.
Fighting essentially 10 people at once, Metal, at first, was able to handle it, but struggled. Soon enough, as he fought off the group, a Cell on the side was putting two fingers to his head…
“SPECIAL BEAM CANNON!”
…Then fired, the bean blasting through Metal's chest and sending him flying across the field. Hitting the floor, Metal looked up, his vision occasionally becoming static.
“Pathetic. Is this REALLY how it ends? I really wished to see your full power.” Cell spoke, now one once more. Metal's eyes slowly filled with static, was bound to shut down…
“Don't tell me that's all you got, Metal.”
Metal Sonic perked, hearing the voice. Was that…?
“You still got fight in you! I built you to fight Sonic! You, like Sage, are one of my greatest creations.”
The Hedgehog Doppelganger was quiet.
“You can FIGHT this thing. You have many more tricks up your sleeve. …I have full faith in you….my son.”
Cell, who didn't hear anything, prepped to destroy Metal, just to see seven Emeralds appear. Curious, he awaited to see what would come.
Then they entered Metal, and his vision was regained…and he transformed once more.
The golden glow forced Cell to shield his eyes, but when he looked up, he saw none other, than Super Neo Metal Sonic.
“...Heh. Now we got you to go full power. What do you say we do one last round?” Cell grinned, to which Metal clenched his fist.
“Agreed. And I will crush you.”
The robot then blasted at speeds that Cell couldn't comprehend, before getting in the center and activating his Ring Spark Field. Cell got out of the way, but his Juniors weren't so lucky, being electrocuted so violently…that they EXPLODED into bloody messes. Despite this, Cell charged when the field was down, just for Metal to effortlessly catch his fist and kick him away. Blood flew out of Cell's mouth, to the shock of the Android.
He was sent flying, but Metal flew past him and knee'd him in the back, like Cell did to him. And with an axe kick, he smashed Cell into the ground, causing the ground to blow apart from how powerful the blow was.
Cell staggered to his feet, staring at Metal's Golden form. “I-Impossible! Nothing should be able to surpass me…” He spoke. “How could he do so much in three hits?!” He yelled, before a barrage of Chaos Spheres hit him and exploded, making Cell drop.
“What's the matter? Where is the gloating you had moments ago?” Metal taunted, as Cell regeneration kicked in and saved him.
“You…you…you…little SHIT!” Cell yelled, before overflowing with Ki, and increasing his power and gaining a more muscular form.
“There's no way I'll lose to you!” Cell declared, throwing a punch…sadly, he neglected one thing.
His new form was focused in strength while sacrificing speed. And he was fighting someone meant to fight the fastest thing alive. With that, he had little to no chance; his attacks were effortlessly avoided by the far faster robot. Not only that, but he was bombarded with multiple attacks per second, causing him immense pain too.
And soon enough, Cell was hit in the stomach with a hard enough punch. The Android staggered back, coughing from the pain of the blow, before he looked...ready to hurl. Unable to stop, Cell's mouth opened...and threw up a girl.
Metal didn't react, crossing his arms as Cell no longer remained 'perfect'. "This is useless. It's over for you." Cell, hearing this, got LIVID.
"I WON'T LET YOU WIN! I WON'T FORGIVE YOU! I..."
Cell, very much pissed, began to blow up like a balloon. Metal, taken aback, watched. "This is the end for you, bastard!" Cell exclaimed. "In one minute, I am going to explode! I'm going to die, but I'll take you and the Earth with me!" He mocked, leaving Metal to glare.
"Then I'll destroy you here!" Metal declared, charging in to kill, but Cell spoke again.
"If you hit me, I'll explode immediately. So what will it be? Die now, or die eventually?" Cell said, grinning as the Super robot took pause and looked at his hands, seeimingly helpless...
....Before he had an idea. "CHAOS CONTROL!" With a cry, time froze. With that, Metal grabbed Cell, and dragged him into space, before kicking him off into it's depths. Flying down fast, he landed on Earth...as the time stop ended, Cell's exploding body doing no harm. With a nod, Metal was ready to go off to find those Dragon Balls...
At least until something landed in front of him. Thinking it was Sage sending aid, he approached...just to see Cell's fist strike him back a bit. "Hahaha! You fool! I don't know how you did that trick..." Cell began. "But all you did was make me stronger! Now, I can destroy a Solar System!"
Metal, however, was barely impressed. "Is that all? I've seen many do worse." He sneered. prompting Cell to grin once more.
"Really now? Then lets see you survive this!" He leaped into the air, and cupped his hands once more. "Kame...."
Blue energy appeared in his hand.
"Hame...."
It grew brighter.
"...HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!"
The giant energy beam blast flew down to Metal, who stared it down with no fear. Without hesitation, the robot did his own take on it.
"Kame..."
The energy in his hand glew brighter.
"...Hame..."
Looking upwards, Metal thruster his arms out.
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!"
Within a blink in an eye, a giant Kamehameha came from Metal's hands, outright eclipsing Cell's own in size. Cell couldn't do anything but gawk in horror, before the beam engulfed HIM.
"N-No! This can't...I'm supposed to be the perfect...!" Cell's final words were unheard, as he let out a scream of agony as his body burned away until absolutely nothing was left, as the zoomed out showed the Kamehameha nearly eclipsing the planet in size.
Once the beam dispersed, Metal, now reverted back to base, stared quietly, before nodding an acknowledging a fact; Cell was finally dead.
Now to acquire the Dragon Balls.
Results[]
Winner's Screen: Metal snags the new Dragon Balls from the Z-Fighters before they can react, and takes off to revive Eggman.
Loser's Screen: Cell's soul is dragged to hell.
Thunder: Looks like he wasn't so perfect after all.
Metroid: Cell is certainly an opponent who would give any other fighter trouble, but Metal Sonic was just in a completely different ballpark.
Thunder: Cell is said to be able to destroy Solar Systems, and can fight people who are able to move 43 million times light speed. Meanwhile, Base Metal can fight Sonic, who scales to those who absorb half a universe and can scale to things moving at 56 billion times light speed!
Metroid: And that's only in base; there Metal's Super form, which lets him scale to the 13 times universal and 183 quadrillion times light speed Super Sonic. While Dragon Ball does reach multiversal, that's in Super, not Z.
Thunder: But outside of stats, let's look at powers. Cell's Instant Transmission may seems good, but he actually needs an energy signature to teleport to which Metal has none, if the Androids prove anything!
Metroid: Even if he could, Metal's Chaos Control would be an easy counter. And with his ESP, he could reverse Cell's sense of direction, making the fight harder.
Thunder: However, Cell's regeneration does make him incredibly hard to kill. Unless Metal made sure to leave literally nothing, Cell will keep getting back up, allowing for Zenkai to MAYBE increase his power to keep up...key word here being MAYBE.
Metroid: Yes, even with his martial arts mastery, Cell wouldn't be able to fight well. The sheer Stat gap means Cell wouldn't be able to land a hit, and even if he did, it wouldn't do much damage.
Thunder: And worse, Cell would let it happen. The dude's lust for battle would mean he'd want Metal to get stronger, and even copy him! By the time he realizes his mistake, he'd be killed like, a thousand times over!
Metroid: Ultimately, the result feels clear; Cell may have a tough opponent, but Metal Sonic had the physical superiority and powers to seal the deal.
Thunder: Cell tried to test his Metal, but only got death instead of glory.
Metroid: The winner is Metal Sonic.

Wiz: Metal Sonic, Sonic’s steel doppelganger courtesy of Dr. Eggman.
Boomstick: Cell, the perfect creation of Dr. Gero.
Wiz: What does it mean to be perfect? Flawless? The concept is foreign, some would say impossible. But, with the right hands behind the wheel, it could be possible to create a being to fulfill that goal.
Boomstick: Like these two threatening creations! He’s Wiz and I'm Boomstick!
Wiz: And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a DEATH BATTLE.
It’s too late, Metal Sonic has reentered DEATH BATTLE![]
Wiz: The world is a place full of freedom, excitement, adventure and thrills. Endless possibilities litter every section of our planet, waiting for the right person to take them. For freedom is something people take. It’s not bestowed or achieved.
Boomstick: And there was no person who personified that concept better than the blue blur, Sonic the Hedgehog. The fastest thing alive, the dude with the ‘tude! Fighting not out of some moral superiority or heroism, but for the freedom of everything and everyone!
Wiz: Indeed, but one cannot have freedom without its polar opposite. Control. Oppression. Dr. Ivo Robotnik hated that dastardly hedgehog. His chatty ways. His punky attitude. His constant rebellion. The way he foiled all of his plans for world domination over and over and over again.
Boomstick: So, the mad scientist decided that in order to beat Sonic, he had to create a better version of him. A superior Sonic. One without his flaws. He didn’t speak, so he had no attitude. He obeyed his every whim, so he wouldn’t rebel. And he worked directly for him, aiding him in his plans for world domination. He tried many prototypes, like Silver Sonic and Mecha Sonic. But all failed against the real deal.
Wiz: But, with his scientific and robotic genius, and vast history of battling the hedgehog, it finally clicked, and Eggman created his greatest - and most dangerous - creation to date. An unstoppable force of speed and destruction. A polar opposite to everything the blue blur stood for. Metal Sonic.

Boomstick: Yikes. For someone who’s based off of Sonic, he looks way meaner.
Wiz: Indeed he is. Despite being a robotic copy of the blue blur, he’s almost a polar opposite of him in most ways, as covered before. Tyrannic tendencies, megalomania.. Mean to animals..
Boomstick: Woah, definitely not Sonic! I can tell that much.
Wiz: Designed to be an even match for Sonic in most ways, to the point that E-123 Omega said that he was the only creation of Eggman’s that could match him, Metal Sonic can pretty much go blow for blow with Sonic in many ways. He can match the blue blur’s speed, strength, and stamina on a regular basis. In case you need a.. casual reminder, Sonic regularly surpasses lightspeed on multiple occasions and can shatter and destroy large chains and mountains.
Boomstick: And Eggman also made sure to give him the ability to imitate most, if not all of Sonic’s moves. He can curl into a ball and spin dash, shooting him forwards at high speeds, speeds high enough for the world to slow down around him. He can homing attack into foes, and do the Light-Speed Dash across trails of rings. You know. Usual Sonic stuff.
Wiz: But he also came with a few unique abilities himself. Metal Sonic can fly with the jet booster on his back, granting him superior mobility variety to his nemesis. He can summon a massive sphere of energy around himself, similar to a shield. Along with that, there’s also a much more pronounced defensive maneuver of his, The Black Shield, nearly impenetrable to incoming attacks. It even defends him from potent projectiles like the Chaos Spear.
Boomstick: His Ring Spark Field allows him to surround himself in electricity and charge into you, frying you in the process. He has a variation that hits above him too! He can also utilize the V. Maximum Overdrive to overload his circuits and surround himself with energy and boost forwards at speeds higher than usual. Not to mention he can straight up teleport! No. I’m not kidding. It’s not Chaos Control either. He has just teleported before.
Wiz: I mean, Metal Sonic can still utilize chaos abilities, similar to the other hedgehogs. Most notably Chaos Control as you mentioned. You may think it’s just a simple time stop, but it’s actually quite the contrary. It allows the user to contort space and time to their will, and it has a ton of uses. Like slowing or stopping time, teleporting himself and other objects on an interdimensional scale, seal others in separate dimensions, triplicate himself, and create distortions in space time as an offensive maneuver. He can even travel through time if two users use it at the same time.
Boomstick: And don’t forget Chaos Spear too, a spearing projectile that can cause temporary paralysis on contact! But by far, his most daunting ability that puts him above the rest is his ability to copy the moves of the people he fights!-
Wiz: Only Neo Metal can do it.
Boomstick: What?? Huh??? He literally does it in Sonic Rivals!
Wiz: It’s been retconned.
Boomstick: You have to be kidding me.
Wiz: I mean, he still should have the abilities of the foes he.. Somehow imitated in that game. The Sonic Boom allows him to boost forward with increased speeds and invulnerability. ESP allows him to mess with people’s minds to warp their sense of direction. Hammer Punch allows him to slam into the ground hard enough to cause tremors and briefly immobilize foes. He can summon bat shaped bombs that surround him and explode on contact, and he can even become invisible and intangible, gaining a slight speed boost.
Boomstick: Wiz, we haven’t even scratched the surface! Metal can zap people’s speed, decreasing it to match his.. Somehow. He can boost like the other modern characters, too! That’s helpful.
Wiz: Metal has also amassed a few items to help himself. Being a Sonic character means he should be able to use the standard fare for them, like item boxes that grant him stuff like elemental shields that protect him for a hit and also grant him various buffs, whether it’d be a quick air dash, a double jump, or a bounce.
Boomstick: There’s also Wisps, cute little aliens that Metal Sonic can utilize to gain unique abilities. Look, he has a little wisp capsule that grants him the ability to use them! By force! Why does he hate animals so much anyway..?
Wiz: White Wisps give more boost energy. Yellow Wisps turn users into drills to burrow into the ground. Cyan wisps allow people to move in set paths as a living beam of light. The Violet Wisp turns you into a BLACK HOLE that can consume objects. This allows it to grow in size, being able to grow large enough to consume a LARGE AIRCRAFT. … So on and so forth.
Boomstick: Yeah, with an arsenal this wide, you’d think Metal would blow his inspiration out of the water.. But he didn’t. In fact, he lost again. And again. And again. This angered Metal. More and more and more. How could he lose to someone he was supposed to surpass?
Wiz: And as his anger built, Sonic’s steel nemesis went mad, and rebelled against his own creator. Taking over the Eggman Empire and throwing the actual Eggman to the wayside, Metal took on a new form while deluding himself into believing that he was, in reality, the real Sonic. Neo Metal Sonic.
(Cue Boss Battle: Metal Overlord (What I'm Made Of...))
Boomstick: And with the actual ability to copy lifeform abilities now, Metal quickly got to work copying the biodata of practically all of Sonic’s major players! Sonic, Shadow, and Chaos. Let me repeat. CHAOS. THE GOD OF DESTRUCTION.
Wiz: He can shoot out pink energy waves similar to lasers in this form, and gains another forcefield that can repel attacks. He also managed to copy Eggman’s intelligence, shapeshifting his own body to be a perfect organic recreation of him. And with his master’s appearance, Metal gained access to some parts of his empire.
Boomstick: Like the Egg Hawk, a flying shift that can fire bullets at any enemy in his way. Or the Egg Albatross, which the Egg Hawk rests on top of. Its lower platform contains a ton of Egg Pawns, an iron ball launcher, and cannons. There’s also the Egg Emperor, a flying robot equipped with a large lance and shield that’s super durable. It can even keep up with Sonic and shoot out large energy waves. But of course, there’s the goddamn Final Fortress, a massive warship, equipped with tons of defense mechanisms and weapons to combat any intruders. It also has switches on it that act as a self-destruct! For some reason.
Wiz: But with the Final Fortress and all of the necessary biodata copied, Neo Metal Sonic became Metal Madness, a powerful kaiju hooked to the fortress. And after further evolving, he became..
Boomstick: METAL OVERLORD. With wings that allow him to fly, lasers to shoot, missiles to fire, crystal attacks that temporarily trap people in crystals. Super Sonic was unable to harm him. Let me repeat. SUPER SONIC WAS UNABLE TO HARM HIM. It took superpowered versions of Tails and Knuckles assisting in the fight to take him down.
Wiz: Super forms are no joke. While Base Shadow was capable of defeating Metal Overlord in Sonic X Shadow Generations, this tracks as Sonic is regularly shown growing in strength over time, Shadow capable of keeping match with him regardless. At the time, the chaos emeralds were capable of contributing half the power to destroying both Sonic and Blaze’s dimensions, which means they’re capable of destroying 12 universes total. And if you believe they should be on a similar level to Classic Sonic and his super form, they should also be capable of tangoing with threats like the Time Eater, which threatened all of time.
Boomstick: And it required 3 super forms to defeat him. THREE.
Wiz: But that’s not all. Neo Metal returned, albeit after Eggman coded him to be more obedient, with a want to take over the empire while papa was gone in his honor. And after harnessing the power of the Master Emerald, he became Super Neo Metal Sonic, a threat that was able to directly tango with current day, invulnerable super forms that can fight beings that threaten the entire Sonic cosmology like Solaris.
Boomstick: And Solaris once lit up an entire timeline! That’d be speeds of over 77 quadrillion times faster than light! THAT is the sheer level of speed and power Metal Sonic is working with it at his peak.
Wiz: Super forms have also fought beings like the Egg Wizard, which sustained entire parallel universes and overwhelmed the very power of the Chaos Emeralds themselves. They’ve also fought against Solaris, whose attacks were present throughout all of time, unquantifiable speeds.
Boomstick: His clash with Sonic broke a large stalactite, he flew from Little Planet to Earth in a day, and as Super Neo Metal, he even moved faster than base form Sonic! I have to stress Wiz, HOW DOES SONIC BEAT HIM??
Wiz: Honestly, usually I’d have a smart answer for this but.. No.. He doesn’t have any real notable weaknesses. He just.. Fumbles somehow. In a non-canon crossover, he was defeated by Batman of all people. No fancy suits, no nothing, just Batman and a motorcycle.
Boomstick: Imagine fumbling so bad you lose to a street tier Batman! Jesus christ..
Wiz: But in the end, regardless of fumbling or not, Metal Sonic always lost to his rival. Over and over and over again. And even after the initial Neo Metal incident, that belief of him being the real Sonic never really disappeared. Or did it..? In the 2020 IDW Sonic Annual-
Boomstick: Really nerding out with your Sonic comic citations huh?
Wiz: Yeah.. I-In the annual, Metal Sonic sees a recording of Sonic getting infected by the Metal Virus. Basically this zombie infection caused by this metal liquid. It’s sort of complicated. But, one way or another, Metal Sonic dips his finger into a vat of the Metal Virus, believing that he, the real Sonic, should also get infected, right?
Boomstick: He didn’t. Because he was just a robotic clone. Perhaps that was the day the steel nemesis finally realized that he wasn’t the real Sonic. That he’d never be the real Sonic. He was built to only clone his capabilities, to be a pawn for a scientific genius in his quest for world domination.
Wiz: Because in the end, no matter what Metal Sonic can do.. There can only be one real Sonic.
“All living things, kneel before your master!”
Cell basks in his perfection for a DEATH BATTLE![]

Wiz: Far away in an enchanted land, an old master found a boy, and marveled at his uncommon strength. This is the story.. of-
Boomstick: Yeah yeah, we’ve been through this all before. Son Goku! A saiyan from Earth, originating from the Planet Vegeta. One of the strongest fighters in the universe. He’s had many misadventures over the years. Take the time when, during his wee old youth, he single-handedly destroyed the Red Ribbon Army! A once dangerous and influential criminal organization, so powerful to the point of Earth’s military being unable to touch him, toppled down by a low class monkey boy. Oh, how the mighty tumble.
Wiz: At this humiliating defeat, most of the army disbanded almost immediately. But a few stragglers remained, keeping it alive, even if barely.
Boomstick: One of them being the genius scientist Dr. Gero, dedicated to creating lab-made beings to defeat the saiyan and claim revenge. Androids. He also dabbled in cyborgs too. Jack of all trades!
Wiz: To say he created quite a few would be an understatement. There was the nature junkie and Goku dunking Android 16. And who could forget the twins that destroyed an entire timeline from the future, Android 17 and 18? But, by combining the DNA of all the greatest fighters in the universe, Gero hit the nail on the head and created the greatest warrior in the world. This bio-android would be named Cell, and he’d spell doom for all that dared to challenge him.
Wiz: Now Boomstick, I need you to brace yourself.. We’re gonna have to discuss time travel.
Boomstick: Aw dammit.
Wiz: Okay, so in a future timeline.. Cell laid in a basement in secret as a developing fetus of sorts, grown by Gero’s computer and being given the mission to consume the two other androids and achieve perfection. Eventually, he awoke to a destroyed world by Android 17 and 18, encountering a Trunks (not the one we know) who wanted to stop them by travelling to the past. Cell promptly killed him, took his time machine, and traveled to the main timeline before burrowing into the ground and growing into his imperfect form, ready to absorb the energy of everyone he could get his hands on so he could challenge the androids. Uh.. Is that clear?
Boomstick: Yeah, about as clear as you can get.
Wiz: Oh thank goodness. Now, without a doubt, Cell was unimaginably dangerous, even in his imperfect form. He has the DNA of some of the strongest fighters on Earth, those being Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza, and King Cold. Because of this unique genetic makeup, he can imitate all of the abilities they could pull off at the time. Along with that, he has the capability, as mentioned before, to absorb people’s energy through his tail to increase his own power, turning them into lifeless husks. He can even absorb your entire body completely!
Boomstick: Ewwww, I really don’t like how that looks….
Wiz: With his DNA and also innate mastery of ki, an innate life force every Dragon Ball character has, Cell has the capability of mimicking almost every ki technique he sees. You have the typical stuff. Flight, telepathy, ki blasts, the kamehameha, generic stuff like that. But it also allows you to resist illusions, along with various other things that would normally kill an average human. He can also, most notably, imitate character specific abilities, like the Special Beam Cannon from Piccolo or the Death Beam from Frieza.
Boomstick: Vegeta’s Big Bang Attack, Frieza’s telekinesis, the Instant Transmission to teleport to any nearby ki signatures by picking up on them, Cell’s copied DNA gives him a daunting amount of abilities he can utilize incredibly well. Like his regeneration, taken from Piccolo. Not only is he capable of growing back lost limbs, which would be handy in any martial arts scuffle, his regenerative capabilities are so potent, that it takes nothing less than complete disintegration to permanently kill him for good!
Wiz: And it was with his genetic one-up, along with the forcefully absorbed power of an unfathomable amount of humans, that gave him the power needed to eventually absorb the Androids. First, he overwhelmed Piccolo and absorbed 17, leaving just Android 18 to absorb before he reached his final form.
Boomstick: But Vegeta and Trunks.. From another timeline, wouldn’t let that happen! So they challenged Cell, straight out of training in the Room of Spirit of Time, with more than enough power to defeat the ultimate bio-android.
Wiz: Cell, however, realized this, and played into Vegeta’s pride to convince him to let him absorb 18 so they could both fight at full power. Vegeta accepted, letting Cell do it.. And with that, the bio-android achieved perfection.
Boomstick: What?? You’re telling me he just LET Cell achieve his final form? Did he ever consider the consequences of doing that?? Man, he really should’ve been smacked silly for that.
Wiz: Doesn’t help that with the inheritance of the DNA of all those fighters, he also gained a few of their personality quirks.. Even if that makes no sense. He gained Goku’s lust for battle and relaxed demeanor, Piccolo’s cunning, Vegeta’s pride, and of course, with his villain DNA, he also gained Frieza’s smugness and psychotic tendencies. Which.. Wasn’t good.
(Cue The Cell Games - Bruce Faulconer)
Boomstick: Cell didn’t just wanna purge humanity out of some lame generic villainous motive, he quite literally wanted to purge the Earth of EVERYTHING he deemed imperfect - unlike him. Yeah, this dude had one hell of a superiority complex.
Wiz: But Cell was playful. He began the Cell Games, a simple game for a simple purpose. Either the Earth’s greatest fighters would defeat him in battle and ensure humanity’s safety, or he’d begin his slow, methodical genocide of the human race.
Boomstick: Okay, yeah, Vegeta should’ve DEFINITELY gotten smacked silly. But despite Cell’s big talk, he had the abilities and fighting skill to genuinely back it up. Despite his average intelligence seemingly, he’s a sound manipulator, and the combined DNA of the greatest warriors Gero could get made him insanely skilled alongside his great power, if that wasn’t obvious enough.
Wiz: Cell, true to his saiyan DNA, also has the tried and true zenkai boosts. Basically, what doesn’t kill him makes him way, WAY stronger. Although this would be made more difficult to achieve through his regenerative abilities, it's there if it does happen. He can summon ki barriers to defend himself and hurt anyone too close.
Boomstick: He can utilize the Explosive Wave from Vegeta to knock back any foes trying to jump him, along with the Destructo Disk and Death Saucer. Both can cut into people, but the Death Saucer is controllable and can home in on opponents. He can even asexually reproduce these blue little things called Cell Jrs! While not as strong as the real deal, they’re at least powerful enough to be a threat to the Z Fighters.
Wiz: He can create after-images with sheer speed to trick opponents, use the Gallick Gun and Super Gallick Gun, and can use Tien’s techniques to grow two extra arms on his back for more powerful attacks, and even duplicate himself up to 4 times. While usually this causes your own power to be split into four, Cell can just.. Duplicate himself 4 times without issue.
Boomstick: And then you have abilities that, while not being shown on screen as something he can do, he should theoretically be capable of doing as he possesses the DNA of the characters in question. Like Kaio Ken! By amplifying his ki by a heartbeat, Cell can increase his power up to 20 times! Or Piccolo’s size growth too!
Wiz: There’s also Frieza’s Death Ball technique, Vegeta’s Final Flash, and a few abilities he has actually used in video games! Like the Spirit Ball from Yamcha that can target foes and explode, Tien’s Tri-Beam at the cost of his own life-force, Frieza’s Supernova capable of destroying planets worth 5.3 yottatons of TNT, and.. The Spirit Bomb.
Boomstick: Wait a minute, hold up, slow down. He can use that? Doesn’t that require you to be like, pure of heart?
Wiz: Well, he has used it in multiple games before.. So..
Boomstick: Cell is actually pure of heart?
Wiz: Absolutely not, Boomstick, he was planning to exterminate the human race!
Boomstick: Mmm, if you say so, buddy.
(Cue Perfect Cell vs Gohan - DBZ Budokai)
Wiz: Ugh.. One by one, all of the world’s fighters challenged - and lost to the perfect being. Eventually, Cell got the fight he was waiting for, the one he was created for. The fight against Son Goku.
Boomstick: It was a long, tough fight, one that pushed the both of them to their limits as they kept on one-upping each other. Which is especially impressive, considering at the time, Goku could react to meteors moving at the same speeds as his ship, which could travel from Earth to Namek in 6 days! That’d be 2.82 trillion times faster than light!
Wiz: But Goku eventually realized that Cell’s stamina far surpassed his, and his death would be inevitable if he kept on going. So he threw in the towel and passed down the fight to the strongest Z fighter remaining. His own son. Gohan. Cell fought the boy, but was disappointed by his lack of bloodlust and killer instinct. So he summoned his Cell Jrs to kill the other Z fighters to push him past that point.
Boomstick: Wow. Real jerk move there. It was only after witnessing one of them kill Android 16, who wisely told the boy that sometimes letting his anger take hold was the key to peace, that Gohan finally let go and achieved the power of a Super Saiyan.
Wiz: Aw yeah! He wiped those little craps with ease, and faced down Cell this time! For REAL. But Cell got a little too smug, and eventually, Android 18 was forcefully ejected from his body with one hard punch, returning him to only being semi-perfect. One failed self-destruct and an instant transmission self-sacrifice from Goku later, Cell actually managed to return, not only back to being perfect due to his Saiyan physiology, but stronger than ever before.
Boomstick: After crippling Gohan’s arm, Cell charged up one last kamehameha, one with the power to not only destroy Gohan and the planet, but the ENTIRE SOLAR SYSTEM! This actually does also sort of line up with how Cell upscales Garlic Jr, one of the antagonists of the few canonical Dragon Ball movies, who was affecting realms inside of the Lookout by absorbing them in the Deadzone. It’s really complicated, but he was basically gonna destroy 2 entire realms with a starry sky!
Wiz: Which would require an energy of 270.19 exafoe, enough energy to destroy multiple solar systems.
Boomstick: But in a beam clash of wills, Gohan won out. With the energy of his late father motivating him, alongside a very well timed energy blast distraction from Vegeta, Gohan blasted Cell into nothingness. And thus, the perfect bio-android finally was defeated - for good. Screaming into the air that this was impossible and that he was perfection itself! Ahh, ironic.
Wiz: For in the end, Cell got what he wanted in the end, even if it killed him. A worthy challenge. A person who could match, in his mind, his unbeatable strength.
Boomstick: But for now, all we can hope is that Cell stays dead, for if he ever somehow returns.. Well, I don’t even wanna THINK about that.
“What on Earth are you mumbling about? Chanting a little prayer before you DIE?”
Prefight[]
(Cue Wiz and Boomstick - Brandon Yates)
Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set, and we’ve run the data through all possibilities.
Boomstick: It’s time for a DEATH BATTLE!!
Fight[]
In a lone empty mountainous region, an arena for battle laid in the midst of it as the sounds of combat were noticeably audible. Of course, this arena was none other than the Cell Games Arena, the fate of the human race on the line as the world’s greatest fighters rallied to stop the bio-android.
Cell ki blasted an offscreen fighter into smithereens, laughing as he did so. “Hahaha! Is there anyone else who dares to challenge me?” He boasted confidently, no fighters remaining as he had defeated them all without blinking.
Meanwhile, an unknown figure watched Cell and the arena on a screen, slamming his hand on the desk in anger.
“So this thing wants a fight, huh? I’ll show him! This planet is mine to conquer, not his to wipe clean!” Dr. Eggman growled as he turned. “Sage! Bring in Metal Sonic!” He ordered.
Sage’s digital body floated into view. “I have scanned the warship, Father. It appears Metal Sonic is not here.” She said in a measured voice.
“Impossible! Where is he!” Eggman muttered as he turned back to his monitor. His eyes widened as the camera he had on Cell panned, detecting movement.

Cell chuckled, before he suddenly stopped and looked in the distance. He could see a small speck at the horizon. “What in the world..?” He could only murmur to himself as he squinted, trying to make out the shape. It didn’t give off any form of ki signature.. What was it?
The sound of a robot suddenly became very apparent to the bio-android.
Metal Sonic tackled Cell, slamming the android through and past one of the towers of his arena. It collapsed violently as they both zoomed away. The steel nemesis threw his clawed hand back to swipe at Cell, but at this point, Cell was quick to counteract, flying out of Metal’s grip and floating behind him as the robot halted and turned to face him.
“Ah, so humanity has sent out a cheap hunk of garbage to defeat me?” Cell taunted pridefully. “I’ll enjoy sending you to the scrapyard!”
Metal lunged to his foe, hands outstretched, but halted as he flew right through his form. Cell suddenly punched the steel nemesis in the face as soon as he fell for his afterimage trick, following it up with a pummel all over the robot’s body and a roundhouse kick that sent him slamming into the ground of the arena, cratering it.
“Shame. I liked that arena.” Cell said with a smirk, clearly believing that he had emerged victorious. Metal suddenly teleported behind the foe, surrounding himself in electricity as he slammed into Cell, shocking the bio-android as he physically convulsed. He shook off the effects before being axe kicked into the ground by Metal.
Cell grunted, firing a flurry of ki blasts up at the robotic copy. Metal blocked them all with his Black Shield before firing a flurry of Chaos Spears at him. Cell flew out the way, charging and firing a Gallick Gun at Metal. The beam pierced him through the chest, the robot visibly staggering as his red electronic eyes flickered.
“Cheap piece of junk!” Cell taunted as he followed up his beam with a powerful kamehameha, charring Metal and sending the practically destroyed robot down with a dull thunk.
“Thank you for relieving my boredom momentarily.” He said with a chuckle, turning away from the seemingly lifeless husk. Metal’s red eyes briefly flickered back into view, and he pulled out a Chaos Emerald. A massive explosion of energy enveloped his body as he transformed, Cell whipping back around.
“I’LL CRUSH YOU.”
Neo Metal Sonic lunged forward, using Chaos Control to stop time and smash multiple powerful blows into the bio-android’s body. As soon as time resumed, Cell flew back, sending a shockwave through the air as the perfect being slammed into a mountain.
2 Death Saucers flew from the rumble, homing onto Neo Metal as they flew towards him. The steel nemesis revved up a spin dash as he released and zoomed towards the rubble, dodging them as they chased after him.. Only to be stopped as Cell, slammed his foot into his head, pinning him to the ground.
“Magnificent! You can transform even as an inorganic being!” Cell said with interest as he pushed his foot in harder. “It’ll make it all the more fun to destroy you..” His smirk turned to a grin as he attempted to hold him down.
Neo Metal, with a shaking hand, pulled out a Yellow Wisp, holding it with a death grip.
“DRILL!”
In an instant, Metal turned into the drill, burrowing into the ground before Cell could react and before the Death Waves could hit him
“... What..?”
Cell was suddenly attacked by the drill as it popped out of the ground from where he was standing. The yellow drill tore through his chest as it popped right through. As soon as Neo Metal returned to normal, he curled into a ball and utilized the bounce to SLAM right back down, cratering him.
“YOU ARE WEAK. IMPERFECT.” The robot said as it stood in place.
Cell picked himself off the floor, the massive hole in his chest beginning to regenerate.
“You’re one to talk, rustbucket.” Cell boasted. “Your design is primitive. Too.. Flawed.”
“I WAS DESIGNED TO COPY SONIC. BUT I HAVE ASCENDED BEYOND THAT. NOW.. I AM THE REAL SONIC!” Metal roared.
“Pfft, that’s funny. I get the sense you’re nothing but fodder for real fighters. An ant..” Cell bickered back. Metal shot out a pink energy wave at Cell, but he dodged easily.
“Too slow!” Cell taunted again as he charged up and released a Kamehameha which sent Metal flying into the air. The steel nemesis crashed back onto his master’s warship as he attempted to regain his bearings, his systems stunned.
Cell had already taken advantage of this, flying up onto the airship and hoisting him up by his (practically non-existent) neck. “Hahaha! Just who did you think you were! You’re a lot of things, rustbucket.. But you’re not perfect!”
Before Cell could land any blows, Metal let out another angry yell, raising his hand summoning a bolt of lightning, causing Cell to let go and move back. With the opportunity to enact his plan, Metal began to suction the tech around himself forming himself a brand new body. Cell flew back, narrowly avoiding all sorts of debris as he rested on top of the warship’s tower. He could only gawk in awe as Metal merged himself with his new body.
Metal Overlord.
The kaiju roared as he turned to Cell. “I’LL SKEWER YOU!” He threatened.
“Oh ho ho.. Interesting. I’d like to see you try!” Cell challenged, quickly getting over his shock. With his tail, he began to create a whole bunch of Cell Jrs, his little blue spawn flying towards the massive kaiju.
Overlord began to fight off the tiny beings, swiping at them and using his tail at first. One Cell Jr stuck his tongue out at the kaiju mockingly, only to be slammed into the ground and splattered like a tomato before he could even react. Others were bisected and rendered out of commission as they needed to regenerate. Metal was bombarded with multiple ki blasts and attacks of all sorts, but none could dent him.
Cell meanwhile, stayed back, charging up his power as he strained. He suddenly gained a red aura, reaching Kaio Ken times 20 as he flew towards Metal and decked him in the face. The blow visibly caused Metal to recoil before he leaned back in to bite at Cell, who dodged.
Cell began to circle around Metal Overlord, launching ki blasts and projectiles at his outer shell. Still unable to phase him due to his sheer invulnerability, Cell began to use Piccolo’s size manipulation to grow in size, grinning as he did so. “Impressive! Truly! Perhaps I should tell whoever picks up your rusty corpse to separate you from the rest of the scrap!” Cell half-complimented and half-insulted.
Metal Overlord fired a barrage of missiles at Cell, who tanked them all and regenerated his wounds as the two physically struggled, trading blows.
“I’LL SHOW YOU WHO’S SCRAP WORTHY!” Metal growled as he hit Cell with a particularly tough tail swipe, knocking the bio-android back. Before he could hit back, Metal Overlord fired a barrage of blue crystals from his mouth, hitting the warrior dead on and trapping him in a crystal forcefield.
Utilizing the opportunity, Metal Overlord picked up Cell, and with another roar, chucked him into orbit, the perfect being floating in the vacuum of space. Eventually, breaking free from his crystal cage, Cell growled in annoyance. “Grrr.. You think you can best me??”
Cell raised his pointer finger, beginning to charge up a powerful Supernova. Once he finished, he launched it towards Earth, making the planet blow up in a fireball.
“HAHAHAAHA!” Cell laughed, assuming he had defeated his metal aggressor. “Foolish robot. You’re either perfect.. Or you’re not me..”

“IT’S TOO LATE.”
Neo Metal teleported behind Cell, roundhouse kicking him in the back of the head. “YOU WILL NEVER DEFEAT ME.” He said, beginning to teleport around, comboing Cell as he ping ponged him around the vacuum of space. Cell grunted, managing to hit Metal back before he could continue as he backed off.
“It’s no use! No matter how much you fight, you’ll never top me!” Cell boasted. “You’re just fodder. Fodder for real fighters like me. Just face it! You’re nothing but a lowly copy of that “Sonic” you talk about!” The bio-android insulted brazenly, clearly done with formalities.
“I.. AM.. NOT!” Metal roared, trying to tackle Cell in a fit of rage. But Cell wanted this. Timing a Destructo Disk perfectly, Cell managed to slice one of Neo Metal’s arms clean off. Sparks flew from the stump where his limb once was as he froze in shock. Cell grinned manically, using the Multi-form Technique to quadruplicate himself as his 4 clones began to gang up on Metal.
“What’s the matter, RUSTBUCKET? Basking in your own flaws? Hahahaha!” He taunted cruelly as he and his duplicates beat Metal down.
“... I.. AM NOT PERFECT LIKE YOU CLAIM TO BE.”
“Hah, so you admit it!”
“.. I SURPASS PERFECTION ALTOGETHER!”
Metal roared in anger, and summoning the power of the Master Emerald, he became Super Neo Metal Sonic. Cell and his clones backed off in shock as Metal suddenly grabbed one of his clones with a death grip, glaring at him with a death stare.
“BIO-ANDROID DATA SUCCESSFULLY COPIED.”
Metal instant transmissioned behind a clone, using a ki blast to make it stagger before incinerating them with a Kamehameha. The 2 clones rushed the super robot, attempting to defeat him, but Metal just stood there. They ambushed him with a flurry of punches and kicks, but Metal only stood there, looking at the palm of his hand silently. His hand curled into a fist as he decked one clone hard, sending it flying back and burning up into the atmosphere.
The other clone awkwardly backed up, clearly nervous as Metal stared him down. “Okay, okay, time-out-”
He was promptly incinerated by a Death Ball.
Metal Sonic rolled his robotic shoulders, looking around for the real Cell before hearing a snicker. Looking up, he witnessed him, charging up a massive spirit bomb.
“I admit, the imitation is quite flattering! But you’re gonna have to try a lot harder if you wanna copy perfection. Unfortunately, you’re not getting the chance. DIE!”
Cell yelled as he chucked the massive ki sphere at Metal, who could only look up in shock as the spirit bomb enveloped his body.
“Hahahaha.. HAHAHAHA!” Cell laughed maniacally, his victory clear as day.

The spirit bomb literally exploded, Super Neo Metal flying out as he grabbed Cell’s throat.
“YOU’RE NOT PERFECT. YOU NEVER WERE.”
Metal slammed Cell straight down, the bio-android barreling towards the exposed core of the Earth, visible after its destruction. His eyes widened in shock as he tried to fly away. But Metal gave him no heed. He flew right down, hitting him with a nasty foot dive as he knocked him down further - and faster. He had no way to escape now.
“No.. No no NO!! You can’t do this to me! I.. I can’t lose! I’m perfect! PERFECT!”
Metal coldly watched Cell fall to his demise. “LET’S SEE YOU COME BACK FROM THIS, IF YOUR PERFECTION IS AS HIGH AS YOU CLAIM.”
Cell let out an anguished yell of fury as he fell into the Earth’s core. He tried to regenerate, but it was a futile effort as he slowly incinerated into nothingness. And with that, the bio-android was no more.

Silence filled the cosmos. Metal stood there for a silent moment, before flying onto the (currently half blown up) moon and landing on top. He thought back to what Cell said.
“Just face it! You’re nothing but a lowly copy of that “Sonic” you talk about!”

Metal looked at his palm again, his robotic mind in deep thought.
Conclusion[]
Boomstick: I challenged DUMMI to take a shot every time the word “perfect” was said in that fight. Needless to say.. He’s dead.
Wiz: Wait, he is..?
Boomstick: Yup.
Wiz: Oh.. Um.. Ok then. This fight definitely had a lot to analyze. Both Metal Sonic and Cell were both combatants with tons of different things to take into account and wrap our heads around. Let’s break this down into 5 categories. Strength, speed, powers, skill, and resistances.
Boomstick: Starting with strength!
Wiz: This one was pretty clear cut. Cell was no joke. Being capable of launching a kamehameha that could destroy the solar system, along with upscaling a foe who could threaten the destruction of 2 entire realms with a starry sky put him at a level of power that’d be threatening to most. Keyword, most.
Boomstick: Yeah, Metal was just.. Way more crazy. We can look at calculable feats first. Metal Sonic, at least in his super form, should actively upscale Eggman’s Final Egg Blaster, which can destroy entire constellations with ease. That’d require energies of about 465 exafoe, 1 time stronger. This might not seem like much, but the gap grows LARGER.
Wiz: Remember, super forms can actively fight off threats to their entire cosmology, which is massive and easily gets to at least Multiversal levels. While Dragon Ball has a similarly impressive cosmology, Cell does not have any reliable means to scale to it.
Boomstick: So yeah, Metal definitely takes strength. And speed isn’t much different.
Wiz: Cell can actively scale to Toei Goku dodging meteors on a moving ship moving at 2.82 trillion times faster than light. Pretty impressive, but Metal can move at calculable speeds of 77 quadrillion times faster than light, more than 27,000 times faster. And his super form should actively scale to Super Sonic’s numerous immeasurable speed feats. So yeah. Metal takes speed.
Boomstick: But looking at their powers is when the game changes. Metal had a wide variety of stuff, ranging from copied or imitated abilities, teleportation, his own stuff, definitely lots of handy stuff. But Cell had a laundry list of ki abilities from other people, including some super serious ones like Kaio Ken, zenkai boosts, the spirit bomb, and the Supernova.
Wiz: BUT Metal, while Neo, could easily copy Cell’s biodata and widen the span of his abilities to include Cell’s own. This would definitely shake things up, and he’d probably be able to achieve it with his superior statistics. But with Cell’s fighting experience and battle instincts, he’d probably be able to still play keep-up, so it wouldn’t be too bad for the bio-android.
Boomstick: Yeah, you could argue both ways, and it is sort of situational, so let’s just call this a tie to be safe. Which leads us to skill, particularly battle skill. While you may think Metal Sonic being a super smart robot would give him this point, it’s actually a bit more complex than that.
Wiz: Simply put, Cell has managed to trade blows and even win against foes far more skilled than the ones Metal fight. Sure, Sonic may be strong, but Goku trains regularly to conquer himself and improve his skills to high levels. He’s a way more skilled fighter, even if Sonic is nothing to scoff at. And Cell managed to genuinely match and even arguably beat him through outlasting his stamina!
Boomstick: Yeah, it’s safe to say Cell takes this. Which poses the million dollar question. Would Metal be able to overpower Cell and take his win? Or would Cell’s sheer fighting skill and impressive amount of abilities allow him to find a way to defeat Metal?
Wiz: A question that can be answered by looking at their resistances.
Boomstick: Right off the bat, Cell’s biggest challenge was Metal’s invulnerability, a thing that both Metal Overlord and Super Neo Metal had. While the invulnerability of a super form can be bypassed by having strength similar or greater than it.. Cell.. Obviously didn’t fit that requirement. So it was unlikely he could do much of anything if he transformed other than try to stall for time.
Wiz: And Metal just resisted a ton of Cell’s stuff. For example, being a robot meant that he had no ki signature, meaning that Cell couldn’t use Ki Sense to track him or use Instant Transmission to teleport to him, which made him nigh impossible to track. Made WORSE by his speed advantage.
Boomstick: In general, even base form Metal could scale to base form Sonic, who survived the destruction of the Paradox Prism, which destroyed the entire universe. A level of durability Cell couldn’t possibly dent!
Wiz: In the end, just think of it this way. Cell’s impressive, no doubt. He’s still a strong combatant, fully capable of defeating many of our past combatants. But in the grand scheme of things, he was a late-game DBZ villain fighting a person who had the power of a mid-game DBS villain. And under that logic.. Yeah, Cell wouldn’t go down without a fight, but all he could really do was delay the inevitable. Giving Metal the final edge in resistances.
Wiz: Cell’s abilities and skill would challenge the steel nemesis, but in the end, his superior stats, resistances, and abilities gave him the win.
Boomstick: I don’t want to over-CELL Metal Sonic, but let’s just say this entire fight was just fun and GAMES to him.
Wiz: The winner is Metal Sonic.
Boomstick: And this time he didn’t kill 2 armies in the process!
