Description[]

Dragon Ball vs. Kid Icarus. With the technology to harvest planets, only one can stand in the others way.

Introduction[]

Wiz: Meta-Cooler, the avatar of the Big Gete Star.

Boomstick: Aurum-Pyrrhon, the god assimilated by the Aurum. When it comes to conqueror worlds to drain them of their resources, an alien invader needs to make use of all of its assets.

Wiz: Like an organic being merged with their very core.

Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armour and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle!

Meta-Cooler[]

Wiz: New Namek, the newest home world of the Namekians since their original was lost to Frieza, was undergoing a similar process of conquest to that of its predecessor. In desperation, a physic cry for help was sent to Son Goku of Earth.

Boomstick: He grabbed his buddies and they were off to the rescue, because when it came to inspecting planetary threats they're your guys. And upon arriving, they were greeted with a strange sight; a planet with cancer.

Wiz: Oh no, there weren't actually any humans on it.

Boomstick: Oof! Savage. But in actuality, New Namek was infested by the Big Gete Star. A big old collection of garbage.

  • Big Gete Star
    • Size: Est. A 10th of New Namek
    • Assembled mass of space debris
    • Controlled by single computer chip
    • Contains Cooler's remains
    • "Beep"

Wiz: In Layman's Terms, yeah, but there's a bit more to it. You see, somehow set drifting in space, a single microchip started to assimilate whatever space debris it could come across. Considering how common interstellar travel, not to mention conflict, are it was no surprise it soon amassed enough junk to create a massive shell around itself. This was the Gete Star.

Boomstick: And it had a hankering for something big and round. A planet, naturally! And well, you know the rest. Especially since we just explained it.

Wiz: With the mechanical super-fortress engulfing New Namek with its metallic tentacles, the Namekian's distress call was direly needed. Even before the combat-capable saviours from Earth came along, the Star already had itself a certified army to defend itself. Primarily, the Cyclopian Guard.

    • Meta-Cooler Core
      • Energy absorption

      • Core Smash

Boomstick: They may only have one weapon at a time, like their eye, but they pack a powerful punch. They can shoot balls of energy which explode on definitive contact and their Gatling Guns are able to draw blood from Piccolo himself. And for taking prisoners, they can deploy net guns.

Wiz: Their claws mean they can grab any opponents just fine as well and even have enough artificial intelligence to understand the effect of the dreaded Bear Hug ability.

Boomstick: 'Course, they will fall apart if they get hit really hard, but you know you will need to hit really, really, really hard? The shiny metallic form of Frieza's own brother, Cooler.

Wiz: Following a failed attempt to avenge his family's honour by killing Goku, Cooler was blasted straight into the sun and 99 percent of him was utterly vaporized. A single piece of him, his eye and the surrounding flesh, was left to float in the void of space, until it was taken in the still-under-construction Big Gete Star.

Boomstick: His will of personality ended up bonding with the microchip that started the whole assimilation process, essentially turning him into the Star's driving personality. And with the vast resources of the robotic sphere, he was able to create some remote control bodies for him to coordinate, as an eye in a bundle of wires.

Wiz: These Meta-Coolers are superior in power to Cooler's original second form, and he has possibility hundreds at any time to send into battle. Fun fact, whilst living creature use Ki, mechanical beings like these use an artificial version which they mould into attacks. The most notable being Ki blasts, lasers and the ability of flight.

Boomstick: Meta-Cooler also uses what is perhaps the only attack that is themed after his family's name, Ice Nest. Which doesn't even use ice, just more energy!

Wiz: Then I gather you find it ironic one of their most powerful attacks is sun-themed, what with being named Supernova.

Boomstick: Eh, I can look past it. When your attack is compared to a sun going boom, you can call it whatever you want.

Wiz: It's important to remember though that these were just drones remotely operated by the remains of Cooler. Should you end up in the core of the Big Gete Star, don't be surprised if he takes on his Meta-Cooler Core form.

Boomstick: Made entirely out of wires, Cooler can now shapeshift himself to entangle his foes, doing so to either bleed them dry of their blood or bleed them dry of their energy. And he usually preludes it with a massive one-inch punch. And to think, all of that came from a collected mass of space garbage.

Wiz: Come to think of it, DUMMI seems to be collecting a lot of wreckage from my gadgets.

Boomstick: You don't think he's trying to came a Big Gete Star for himself do you?

DUMMI: Of course I'm not.

Boomstick: Dah!

DUMMI: For one thing, the Big Gete Star had a tiny amount of biological material in itself and I lack such a thing. Although, you two are missing limbs...

(Wiz presses a button and blows up DUMMI)

Boomstick: I just hope you didn't build the other hims with a collective consciousness that the Meta-Coolers have.

  • Feats
    • Nearly consumed New Namek
    • Stronger than the original Cooler
    • Meta-Cooler core drew blood from Goku with his wires
    • Helper Robo was stronger than Krillin, Gohan, Roshi and Yajirobe
    • Cyclopian Guards captured Roshi, Oolong and Yajirobe
    • Meta-Cooler defeated Goku and Vegeta

Wiz: When he first went to kill Goku, the original Cooler certainly proved his natural power. For starters, there's the Dragon Ball stable of blowing up planets, which he could have gone even without his 2nd form. He was even able to react to Goku blasting his Supernova back at him with a Kamehameha.

Boomstick: That Kamehameha was able to push Cooler and his Supernova to the sun in just about 15 seconds, meaning it must have travelled at 33 times the speed of light. And whilst Cooler might not have dodged it, he was able to react to it in time to prevent himself from being immediately scorched by it. And his Meta-Coolers are likely even faster, especially considering the Super Saiyan boost in power.

Wiz: It took two Super Saiyans to defeat a single Meta-Cooler and even then it was pretty close. And yet they were somehow able to overload the entire Big Gete Star when it attempted to drain them of their energy.

Boomstick: If I had to guess, perhaps the entire structure wasn't as powerful as the Meta-Coolers. After all, they're what are used for combat. The Big Gete Star's role is to f*ck a planet. Both figuratively and literally.

Wiz: With his fortress crumbling around him, the Meta-Cooler Core went for one last attempt to kill his Saiyan nemesis. Although it ended with him blown apart from the inside-out and the mind of the Star crushed by Vegeta, he still went down swinging.

Boomstick: Just don't tell him Frieza did so first, because then you'll end up with one planet less, with either a big ball of doom or a mechanical consuming fortress.

Aurum-Pyrrhon[]

Wiz: With a war waging between the Underworld and the Forces of Nature, with humanity caught in the middle, Pit the Angel was understandably rather tired.

Boomstick: But he had no time to rest, because there was another friggin' problem on the horizon. Literally! An entire fleet of floating islands.

Wiz: These weren't just floating islands. They were the attack fleet of the mysterious invaders, the Aurum.

  • Background
    • Alien machines
    • Controlled by the Aurum Brain
    • Name means 'gold' in Latin
    • Nicknamed by Palutena, since their names are unpronounceable
    • "01001011010010010100110001001100"

Boomstick: Like most aliens, they took one look out our world and decided they wanted everything that came with it. They're like locusts. Just the Locust from Gears of War.

Wiz: According to a divine book of prophecy, the Aurum are attracted to other worlds by large-scale strife.

Boomstick: Well, a battle between divine factions over the balance of the world is certainly large-scale, so it's no wonder they came flocking.

Wiz: It's actually a fairly good strategy; with the most powerful forces on a world having worn themselves down fighting each other, it creates a perfect opportunity for a third party, or technically fourth I suppose, to burst in on the scene and take advantage of the situation. Afterall, Pit himself was exhausted going out to fight them, although he did snap to a fighting mind frame pretty quick. Good thing he did as well, because even with the Underworld, Forces of Nature and Skyworld all being forced to work together against the Aurum, he still had an upwards battle ahead of himself.

Boomstick: The Aurum Army is ridiculously big, having all sorts of ships to their name; battleships, cruiser, aircraft carriers and destroyer ships. And those last ones have cannons to bring down meteors! And the bigger the challenge, the bigger the ships.

    • Aurum-Pyrrhon

Wiz: It's not just ships the Aurum bases, like the Hive and Islands send out, send out, but also ground units much for suited to personal combat.

Boomstick: They're basically an army of robotic drones and they have some rather weird abilities. And very weird names. One type can phase through space-time itself with impossible manoeuvres, another is a sentient drill, another is an otherwise invincible box that unfolds to shoot its targets, and some are pretty much just shapes that shoot things. One for example usually lies in a dormant state, before going absolutely ballistic upon being disturbed.

Wiz: A lot of them use hard science like electromagnetism and gravity manipulation in order to operate, and the drill-like ones even generate their own constant momentum.

Boomstick: Flying saucers which deploy units, repurposed solar panels as barriers, wheel-of-cheese shaped attackers, defenders with rotating shields, and even ones that can deploy pseudo-black holes to trap targets in a physics-clipping hell, the Aurum has its way with sheer variety.

Wiz: There are even two units which function as basically ammunition; green bouncing balls and mines. Oh, and we shouldn't forget a pillar-like robot which sends out damaging orbs, which if not deflected back, can hit with a hell of a wallop.

Boomstick: The Aurum are also strong believers in the concept of imitation being the best form of flattery. Which is why they've copied the units of other armies. Like the Underworld's face-themed units, Fire Wyrms and Skuttlers, and the Forces of Nature's strong-armed ents and self-replicating...things.

Popup: The Idol description of one of these copies implied that the entity they are made in the image of must first be captured, hence why there is no Aurum version of Pit.

Wiz: I think they're meant to be amoebas. But the Aurum's most powerful procured weapon is no mere copy. It is the very god that sought to harness their power for himself; the Sun God Pyrrhon.

Boomstick: Well, self-proclaimed sun god, although he certainly had the look of one. He was red, he was fiery and he was impossible to ignore with his hammy presence.

Wiz: Originally appearing as a foe to the Aurum, Pyrrhon revealed his true intensions to in fact take control of the Aurum by merging himself with their base of operations, the Aurum Brain. Unfortunately, whilst the Brain may have been a mindless director of the Aurum, it still somehow won the battle of wills between itself and Pyrrhon.

Boomstick: Not-Helios there got himself assimilated into the core, becoming the Brain's brand new means of defense. Like a pyromantic puppet, he can shoot fire, summon explosive boulders, send out a dragon made of flame and create constricting rings of fire. Oh, and let's not forget his Pyroblaster!

Wiz: Whilst empowered by the Aurum, Pyrrhon was able to interfere with the Goddess of Light's teleportation ability and even a forest-making reset bomb was completely ineffective.

  • Feats
    • Burned away a Reset Bomb forest
    • Forced Skyworld, Underworld and the Forces of Nature to work together
    • Aurum Generator kept hundreds of islands afloat
    • Pyrrhon pushed an Aurum fortress away
    • Units can battle against Pit
    • Aurum Brain brainwashed Pyrrhon

Boomstick: The Aurum Core alone was described as Pit as being as bright as the sun and its destruction caused the Aurum Hive to completely implode with 78 gigatons of TNT (Reppuzan). And Pit himself is a powerhouse in spite of his young appearance. He can react to a 200 million MPH laser, completely pulverise a rock and survive hits from the diamond chopping Hades. And he's taken on other gods and their top agents.

Wiz: Whilst it's debatable if Pyrrhon is indeed a god, he's proved incredible powerful in his own right. And after all, it was his failing grace to end the threat of the Aurum for good. Once freed of the Brain's control, he unleashed a massive burst of flame which pushed the fortress to the far end of the galaxy. Such an undertaking would require energy worth over 300 teratons of TNT (CloverDragon03).

Boomstick: Whilst the Aurum may have amounted to basically filler in the grand scheme of Uprising, they're still the only faction considered a great enough threat that everyone dropped what they were doing to combat. Even Hades himself lent Pit some help, in the loose sense of the word.

Wiz: When something is literally named after gold, you know it is a force to be reckoned with.

Interlude[]

Wiz: Alright the combatants are set, time to end this debate once and for all.

Boomstick: It's time for a Death Battle!

The Battle[]

Setting: Outer space, Aurum Fleet

Projecting himself as a massive hologram, Pyrrhon laughed in his overdramatic way as he revelled in the control he had over the Aurum, hands on his hips and head leaned backwards. His laughter ended with a "eh", when something collided with the floating islands the Aurum employed; the Big Gete Star. As it wrapped its massive tendrils over the islands as anchoring points, Cyclopian Guards were deployed, forming a small army on the floating landmasses.

Pyrrhon peered down at them.

Pyrrhon: I hope you understand what you've all gotten yourselves into.

Cyclopian Guard: BEEP.

Pyrrhon: Oh, you are asking for it! Aurum, destroy!

FIGHT!

Thousands of drone-like Aurum swarmed at their master's command towards the rival force. As they came closer, the Guards raised their cannons and unleashed rapid-fire volleys, blasting apart the Aurum units. Even though some of them were able to get off their own blasts, it took about a dozen from each individual to bring down a single Cyclopian Guard. The Aurum units which could phase through time and space were able to get surprise shots off at the most vulnerable angles of the Guards, hastening their downfalls. Especially as the unfolding Aurum cubes appeared to unleash sweeping lasers which cut through more of Guards. As a matter of fact, one of these was grabbed by a Cyclopian Guard via its extending claw, holding it up to its face for a closer look; this proved a bad idea as the unit unfolded, breaking apart the claw around itself, and firing a laser straight through its face.

Meanwhile, other groups of Cyclopians were dashing across the islands in an occupation movement, shooting down any Aurum drones that got in the way. Racing to meet them were wheel-shaped Aurum, which collided directly with several of the Guards, either smashing them apart or knocking them back. One of these wheels even shot out piece of their panelling to shower a Guard with them, impaling it all over its body. The Cyclopian Guards were able to fight back to some degree, especially as one snared a wheel-robot with a net and swung its target into another of its kind.

Over Cyclopian Guards continued forwards, some of which tripped the Aurum mines and others which got crushed or pierced by Aurum meteorites or spirals respectively. A member of the latter group even spun around a Cyclopian, keeping ahead of its cannon with its speed. Another Cyclopian was dragged backwards by an artificial black hole fired by a Sio, enabling the Aurum unit to slice through it with its whole body. A group of Guards came to a stop as they noticed a dormant Baglo and fired their nets to try and ensnare it. This proved to be a mistake however, as it unfolded into its full form and unleashed a non-stop barrage of shots, which quickly shredded the rival robots apart.

And as the advancement continued, Aurum barriers were deployed to bring Cyclopians to an instant halt. However, some of these barriers were taken down by the rapid-fire armaments of the Cyclopians. A great deal of them exploded against the barriers however, and those that were able to get past faced a new problem; Aurum copies of other army units. Aurum Fire Wyrms collided with Cyclopians and Aurum Urgles grabbed them before smashing them down. One of these Urgle copies got bear-hugged by a Guard, breaking it in half, whilst another got its face grabbed and grinded across the ground.

Observing the battles and explosions expanding across the islands, the holographic Pyrrhon snapped his fingers.

Pyrrhon: Time for a game of battleship!

Aurum Destroyer-class ships were deployed, raining blasts down onto their own floating islands. As the landmasses were downed, so were the Aurum and Cyclopian Guards on them, both groups destroyed by the thousands.

Pyrrhon: Ha-ha! What's a few eggs to a victory omelette!

Big Gete Star: BEEP.

Pyrrhon: What? Why would a cooler be needed? I suppose the eggs would need to be kept cold.

A series of massive explosions suddenly tore the ships apart. The perpetrator floated before the holographic Pyrrhon, his arms crossed and smiling arrogantly.

Meta-Cooler: I believe they were referring to me.

He lifted a finger and fired a single Death Beam, which alone resulted in a massive red and orange crater on the surface of the Aurum Brain Fortress.

Pyrrhon: Oh, a gift, how lovely. Then have one, from me, to you! Pyroblaster Time!

A massive scream of fire shot from the fortress towards Meta-Cooler, which washed over the machine-copy and pushed him backwards. He actually grunted as some of his body melted, but once the blast subsided, the parts reformed.

Pyrrhon: Pyro-Snake, attack!

A massive serpentine creature made of fire slithered out of the Aurum Fortress straight towards Meta-Cooler. It persisted in its pursuit even as it was blasted with Ki shots and Meta-Cooler was eventually forced to dive downwards to avoid its charge. He blasted a hole through an Aurum Island and flew through it as the Pyro-Snake kept after him, and beneath the Aurum Islands the chase continued. Soon, the Snake was almost on top of him, and about to bite down onto his tail. However, with a whip of it out of the way, Cooler then used it to knock the Pyro-Snake upwards and through the islands, back into the skies above. As it reordered itself, Meta-Cooler appeared behind it.

Meta-Cooler: Die.

Just as he raised his hand however, the Pyro-Worm copied his manoeuvre beforehand and flicked its tail, searing straight through Meta-Cooler's waist.

Pyrrhon: Ha-Ha! Take that you silvery scum!

But Meta-Cooler was still operational, and he unleashed his Nest Ice attack, blasting away the Pyro-Worm.

Pyrrhon: Ha-Ha-oh.

Meta-Cooler's lower half quickly reformed.

Meta-Cooler: You are next.

He shot towards the Aurum Brain Fortress, smashing through the structure and straight into the middle, scanning his way there with his 3D Scan Mode. Once arriving there, he came face-to-face with Aurum-Pyrrhon, merged with the Aurum Brain.

Aurum-Pyrrhon: 01100010011001010110010101110000.

Meta-Cooler: Indeed.

He aimed his finger and unleashed his Finger Blitz Barrage towards the merged entities, which responded by tossing out chunks of magma-like rocks. The two barrages exploded against each other and Meta-Cooler darted from the resulting smoke cloud, delivering a kick to Aurum-Pyrrhon's chest. However, a barrier, sustained by the four surrounding pillars, propelled him backwards. Flames swept out from Aurum-Pyrrhon afterwards, which Meta-Cooler avoided with his flight.

Meta-Cooler: Hiding behind a shield? You'll never win like that.

To emphasis his point, he suddenly moved faster than the eye could track and destroyed the shield-generating pillars with kicks, punches and tail swipes. Aurum-Pyrrhon was vulnerable in no time, and Meta-Cooler aimed his finger at his forehead.

Meta-Cooler: Goodbye.

But just as his finger glowed, a ring of fire ensnared him, and he found his body melting inside-and-out from the intense heat.

Aurum-Pyrrhon: Die...die...die!

But then a massive series of explosions rocked the interior and Aurum-Pyrrhon cried out in surprise.

Aurum-Pyrrhon: What!?

Meta-Cooler chuckled, even as he continued to melt.

Meta-Cooler: You think too small my fiery friend. I've always envisioned much larger means of conquest.

And upon fully melting, the Meta-Cooler in the ring fell to reveal another Meta-Cooler behind it.

Aurum-Pyrrhon: What? How?

Meta-Cooler: Your little machines are good for one thing; being scrap metal.

Outside, dozens of Meta-Coolers had formed, with one them newly made; as its skin formed, it covered the Aurum-wreckage underneath. As one, all the Meta-Coolers unleashed various attacks that chipped away massive chunks from the front of the Aurum Fortress, until it's core was exposed to the open air. With its chance, the Big Gete Star itself detached from its mooring and hovered towards the opening, the two super-large structures colliding with a metallic boom. The Big Gete Star opened itself up like a clam, exposing its core to Aurum-Pyrrhon, where the head of Cooler sat.

Aurum-Pyrrhon: So, you decided to face me directly? How-

His body spasmed as the Aurum-Brain took control.

Aurum-Brain: DESTROY!

A massive blast of fire tore from Pyrrhon and burned straight through the Big Gete Star, all the way out to its other end. Cooler's head was almost hit but the wires connected to it swung it out of the way. With a roar, Meta-Cooler Core was formed, and the giant humanoid tangle of wires surged forwards, even as the continuous blast of fire burned away his chest's left half. With his undamaged arm, Meta-Cooler Core swung out a fist, driving it directly into Pyrrhon's body. And in accordance, it unfurled into strands of wires which ensnared both the so-claimed god and the Aurum Brain. The wires grew tighter as Pyrrhon screamed in a jagged, stuttering manner, and the Aurum Brain's energy flowed directly into the Big Gete Star.

Meta-Cooler Core: Ah...delicious.

Then, in a final desperate bid for survival, Aurum-Pyrrhon unleashed an omnidirectional blast of fire. But even as they burned through Meta-Cooler Core, all it was was weather the assault with a vicious smirk and tug harder on the coils. In the end, the Brain and Pyrrhon where sliced apart into innumerable pieces. And for the coup-de-grace, the Big Gete Star pulled back from its drained quarry to let the Meta-Cooler's charge up a Supernova each and send them at the Aurum Fortress and its remaining fleet. The explosions reduced it all to wreckage, floating in space, before the Big Gete Star set about collecting it for its own ends. As the space station closed back up, Cooler took one last look at the battlefield.

KO!

Outcome[]

Boomstick: Looks like one of these two flew too close to the Supernova. Eh?

Wiz: First off, let's just get this out of the way and confirm that yes, Cooler was the more powerful of the two. Pyrrhon boasted that all of the gods' power combined wouldn't be enough to beat him, but even taking that literally and multiplying his Aurum Fortress pushing feat by the number of pre-established gods in Uprising, then it would only come out to 1.8 petatons of TNT, enough to destroy a continent. But Cooler very clearly has the ability to destroy a planet several times over.

Popup: Pyrrhon could be scaled to Arlon the Serene, who powered the moon-sized Lunar Sanctum, but even by applying the multiplier to the energy needed to destroy a moon, Meta-Cooler would still be over 20,000 times stronger by scaling to the 50x Boost from Super Saiyan Goku.

Boomstick: He was much faster too, as whilst Pit clocks in at relativistic speeds, flesh-Cooler could react to a Supernova being pushed at 33 times the speed of light.

Wiz: But there was more to look at other than who could hit harder or move faster. For example, the Big Gete Star's habit of accumulating machinery waste meant it could essentially assimilate the Aurum, or at least what they destroy. Heck, the Underworld Troops were able to hijack a ship and that was pretty much just by pirating it.

Boomstick: And as Hades later proved with that ship, it you have a piece of Aurum kit to throw at them, you can bypass even their shields. With the Gete Star being able to absorb the Aurum and their tech, if any of the Aurum bases had that same shield, it could have easily gotten past them.

Wiz: Spare parts weren't the only thing the Star could take on. It could have outright absorbed the energy from whatever it got a hold of, making it and Cooler even stronger in the long run.

Boomstick: We know what you're thinking; wouldn't the Aurum Brain just take over the Big Gete Star and Cooler like it did for Pyrrhon? Well, not exactly because the thing was, they wouldn't trying to take over the Aurum network. They'd just want its power.

Wiz: There's also the fact that the Aurum Brain isn't exactly sentient. Whilst it is responsible for coordinating the entirety of the Aurum forces, it's stated to lack a consciousness of its own. In fact, the only reason it had a battle of wills with Pyrrhon is because he attempted to directly wrest control of its network. And speaking of the battle of wills, the fact that Pyrrhon and the Brain contested with each other is in direct contrast to how Cooler and the Big Gete Star appear completely seamless with each other, giving them a better level of control and coordination.

Boomstick: Coordination, by the way, which was used to control hundreds of Meta-Cooler clones.

Wiz: With that kind of mental stronghold between both Cooler and the Big Gete Star, along with the strength and speed of one and the properties of the other, the Aurum and the god that would lead them experienced the fate that would have been New Namek's.

Boomstick: Pyrrhon was sent running home to his Aurumummy.

Wiz: The winner is Meta-Cooler.

Trivia[]

  • The connection between Meta-Cooler and Aurum-Pyrrhon is that they are both the results of ambitious, prideful antagonists (Cooler, who wanted to avenge his family's honour after Frieza was bested by Goku, and Pyrrhon, who boasted about being the sun god) fusing with the cores of a massive technological fortress capable of consuming planets; the Big Gete Star and Aurum Brain respectively. Both coordinate technological drones and also have a connection to the sun in an unofficial way;Meta-Cooler can make use of the Supernova attack whilst Pyrrhon is the self-proclaimed Sun God.
  • This battle would have been in 2D
  • The original music for this battle would have been 'Cold and Gold', referring to the name theme of Cooler's family and the translation of the Aurum's name being gold
  • Aurum-Pyrrhon's "01100010011001010110010101110000" is Binary for "Beep"
