Mighty morphin mechazords - Fight!

It was a normal day, in tokyo, Japan. People were eating sushi, children were in school and others were heading to work, or heading back home. However, one plane that landed had Jason lee scott, Trini Kwan, Kimberly hart, Zack Taylor and Billy crantson. Aka, the motherfucking Power rangers.

"Remind us again why we travelled to Japan?" Billy asked, as the 5 rangers looked around as they exited the airport. "We're here to learn Karate to help us take down Rita's monsters." Jason said, as the others agreed, but Zack butted in and said "yeah, BUT: I want to try out the japanese dancing. I've heard a lot about it."

The five began to head towards a nearby dojo, when a thumping sound shook the very ground. The five looked up, and saw the legendary monster that plagued Tokyo: Godzilla.

"Holy- IT'S GODZILLA!" Billy yelled, as the others looked on in shock. "So, do you say we make a name for ourselves, and take down Godzilla?" Trini asked Jason, who snapped out of his shock, smiled a cocky smile, and said "Of course!" Jason said, as the five pulled out their power coins.

"IT'S MORPHIN TIME!" Jason said.

"Tryannsourus Rex!"

"Mastadon!"

"Pterodactyl!"

"Triceratops!"

"Saber tooth tiger!"

Each one of their iconic phrases were yelled out, as they transformed into the power rangers, before they realised the very major height difference. "Megazord?" Jason asked the others, which everybody quickly shaked their heads in agreement. "Megazord!"

The power rangers quickly summoned their Dinozords, then they fused to become the infamous Megazord. They stood valiantly, and marched off to find Godzilla.

Speaking of which, Godzilla was causign chaos and carnage, while the aliens controling it smiled. This was the best way to take control of the world. Nothign could stop Mechagodzilla's overwhelming powe- Wait... What was that?

Suddenly, The faker noticed someting MUCH taller than him stomping towards him. This was the Megazord, and it was battle ready.

"All right everybody! Let's to this!" Jason commanded, as the Megazord broke into a run, and dashed towards the fake Godzilla, who just simply roared, and ready himself for the fight of his life.

Description

Power Rangers vs Showa Godzilla! The ultimate battle of good versus evil is about to take place as two classic mechas throw down for the fate of the planet. Can the original Megazord take down this fearsome new foe, or will the original MechaGodzilla crush the defenders of the Earth?

Interlude

The episode opens with the Death Battle transition card closing before opening again to reveal the Megazord coming into frame and throwing a punch that is caught by MechaGodzilla, who roars in the Megazord’s face before it pauses and grays out as Ringmaster shouts…

FIGHT!

Wiz: The Megazord, the Mighty Mechanical Defender of the Earth.

Boomstick: MechaGodzilla, the original Extraterrestrial doppelganger to Godzilla.

Wiz: Throughout Tokusatsu history good and evil have battled in many forms, but today those forms are two of the most iconic mechas to ever live.

Boomstick: Even after two official crossovers they’ve never met each other in battle, until today.

Wiz: For this fight we will be primarily analyzing this original Dino Megazord from Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers and the original MechaGodzIlla seen at the end of the Showa Era’s Champion Series. The Heisei, Millennium, and Monsterverse MechaGodzilla’s, as well as the Thunder, Ninja, and Shogun Megazord’s will NOT be factored into this debate.

Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a DEATH BATTLE!

The Megazord is Back in Action on DEATH BATTLE!

Wiz: Long ago, across the universe, a galactic struggle was held between the forces of good, and the United Alliance of Evil. Heroes and villains on all sides fought in the desperate struggle, including the likes of the Great Sage of Eltar Zordon and the Vile Witch Rita Repulsa, the two specifically having been locked in a rivalry that lasted two thousand years and spanned several worlds, solar systems, and galaxies.

Boomstick: Their battles finally came to an end when Zordon, after being trapped in a Time Warp by Rita, returned the favor by sealing her away in a Space Trash Bin. That’s right, just throw that bitch exactly where she belongs, in the trash.

Wiz: But Zordon knew that peace would never last, and one day she would be free to Conquer the Earth once more. Thankfully, with the aid of his assistant Alpha-5, Zordon had discovered the Power Coins, which allowed for access to the extra-dimensional power of the Morphin Grid, and could be given to the world’s greatest fighters to turn them into an unstoppable force for good. With the Power Coins in their Morphers, Jason Lee Scott, Billy Cranston, Zachary Taylor, Kimberly Ann Hart, and Trini Kwan would become the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Boomstick: And when their Mighty Dinozord’s combine they form the classic Dino Megazord!

Wiz: Though to some, terms like Original and Classic may seem like an odd term to use. While in America we were introduced to the world of spandex teams and giant robots with Power Rangers, the series is actually a localization of the Japanese Tokusatsu Series Super Sentai, specifically its 16th iteration, Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger. Haim Saban saw the potential in localizing Super Sentai in the west before finally securing a deal with Fox Kids to begin a show that lasted three seasons, a feature length movie, and would on to begin a whole legacy of heroism that has lasted over thirty years.

Boomstick: There have been hundreds of heroes to bear the Power Rangers mantle across different teams, and even among the Mighty Morphin Crew there would be some exchanges of position. While they’re all great fighters in their own rights, the original five are by far the most iconic and experienced, and the one’s we’re sticking with today as the pilots for the Megazord.

Wiz: Since the Megazord is the combination of all five Ranger’s individual Dinozord’s, as such they all pilot it together with their unique skills and expertise. For example, the Blue Ranger Billy, the team’s resident science nerd, man’s the Megazords scanners to find and deduce enemy weak points, while Pink Ranger Kimberly head’s the com’s and Black Ranger Zack handles control of different weapons and auxiliary power.

Boomstick: The Megazord is a massive tank of a Mecha, sometimes literally. It has a tank mode complete with 5 separate cannons, but they primarily use it in Battle Mode, where the two main cannons from tank mode rest on its back and can be fired over the shoulders if they’re ever pinned to the ground. The Megazord also can fire hadoukens, use its Cranial laser for long range attack, and get allies out of sticky situations with its eye beams.

Wiz: Its eye beams can also be used to stun and paralyze opponents, while its cranial laser is a far more powerful projectile that can be used to finish foes off. That said, despite the Megazords large assortment of projectiles, it’s far more suited for close range combat, its punches being capable of tearing through monsters and launching them miles into the air.

Boomstick: But it’s time to induce the fear of god into whoever poor soul has chosen to fight them today, the Rangers summon their ultimate weapon, the Power Sword! Not only can the blade recharge the Megazord when it’s low on power, but its finishing move is basically a guaranteed death sentence for whichever monster Rita’s cooked up that week.

Wiz: It’s also surprisingly versatile in capability. Not only could it tear through nigh-invulnerable monsters like Polluticorn in one shot, as shown with its battle against the Knasty Knight, the Power Sword is capable of absorbing and reversing the oncoming Kinetic Energy of attacks sent its way, drastically boosting the striking power of the Megazord.

Boomstick: The Megazord is insanely tough! It can summon the Mastodon Zord’s head to use as a shield and spit ice out on opponents, and has resistance being banished across space, TWICE!

Wiz: But sometimes even the Megazord can’t always cut it on its own.

Boomstick: Thankfully the OG 5 have some backup in everyone’s favorite Green Ranger; Tommy Oliver, and his Dragonzord! While Tommy may often be late to the party, when he finally shows up you know he means business! Plus, he remote controls the Dragonzord via his Dragon Dagger with that sick-ass flute tune! It even rises from the ocean just like a certain you-know-who.

Wiz: Just as capable at The Megazord, The Dragonzord is equipped with finger-launched missiles, the ability to fire waves of energy from the fin on its head and create explosive shockwaves with its stomps, and its tail can be used as a powerful drill. Combined, the Megazord and Dragonzord are unstoppable, sometimes literally. The Dragonzord can form its own Fighting Mode with the Mastodon, Triceratops, and Saber-ToothTiger Zords, complete with super-powered drill staff.

Boomstick: But when it’s really time to fuck up someone, the Dragonzord merges into the Megazord power to become the MegaDragonzord, gaining several extra cannons to fire at. The MegaDragonzord can even further power up by combining with Titanus to form the Dino Ultrazord, which goes boom, and then there’s no more anything.

Wiz: Together Power Rangers can do just about anything, even to some rather absurd extreme’s. They’ve defeated the Octoplant, a monster directly stated to be able to destroy the Earth via crushing it, a feat which would’ve taken almost One Hundred and Twenty Ronnatons of TnT, enough power to equal that of a Dwarf Star.

Boomstick: One time, the Megazord even fought Alpha-1, Zordon’s first ally in the fight against evil, who made himself a Megazord boy of his own to fight the Rangers. And they completely crushed it, beating him so bad, he was in a worse state than after the time he survived a FUCKING SUPERNOVA, something backed up by Billy as well.

Wiz: Another team of Dino-themed Power Rangers, the Dino Charge Rangers, briefly resisted being sucked into a Black Hole created by the Dark Energem. Given that the rest of the Dino Charge Rangers also use Energems, and is even used by Heckyl to become a Power Ranger itself, it stands to reason the Dino Charge Rangers and their Zords can scale to this.

Boomstick: And the Mighty Morphin Rangers and the Dino Megazord are depicted as being equal to the Dino Charge gang! Heck, they even fought and beat a monster powered by four Energems, so they can absolutely scale to this. And that’s almost as crazy as the time they once flew to, what Rita’s boss and future husband Lord Zedd started was, the farthest galaxy away from the Earth, in the span of just a little while. Hell Zedd’s own Zord and even the Ranger’s made the same trip as well!

Wiz: While the exact distance is never given, we can still get an estimate. Using the RD1 Galaxy as a placeholder, which was discovered just four years after this episode aired in 1998, we get a distance of 12.5 Billion Lightyears. And thanks to dialogue from future Rangers Adam, Rocky, and Aisha, we can derive the timeframe of the Rangers trip across space to be about 5 hours. This means, the Rangers, Serpantera, and their Zords which later followed them, all must have been capable of moving over 21 TRILLION times the Speed of Light.

Boomstick: That’s fuckin bonkers man.

Wiz: That’s Power Rangers for you.

Boomstick: Anyways, well, I’m sure some of you are gonna point out how it was the Thunderzords who made that trip, not the Dinozords. But remember, the Thunderzords are upgraded Zord’s made from the Dinozords, and thus they’re at least comparable. Plus, with the Dino Megazord’s recent appearances in Beast Morphers, Once and Always, and Cosmic Fury, we can assume the original Megazord has been upgraded since being reinstated and has likely surpassed its power from the show’s original run. Heck, the Dragonzord even kept with the ThunderMegazord as well, so they can’t be that far apart in power.

Wiz: Though even at their best, enough damage can disable the Dinozord’s for a period of time or even overload their connection to the Morphin Grid and result in complete destruction, but it takes a lot of punishment to get to that point. From your average everyday monsters to the deadliest of foes like Goldar and Cyclopsis, the Megazord has overcome every obstacle in its way, and nothing has ever proved too much for them. No matter how hard the bad guys hit, the Power Rangers always hit back harder.

Boomstick: They’ve been saving the world for over thirty years and at this point, nothing has ever proved too much for them… even the loss of one of their own. Rest in peace, Trini.

Wiz: So have no fear, for when the Power Rangers arrive and the Megazord stands tall, no one can ever take them down so long as the power lies on their side.

MechaGodzilla returns to Terrorize DEATH BATTLE!

Wiz: The year was 1974 and, unbeknown to most of humanity, the Earth was under peril by a secret alien invasion from the aliens of Black Hole Planet 3, lead by their supreme commander, Mugal. While some people were aware of them, such as agents from Interpol, the aliens' plan was largely proceeding uninterrupted thanks to their spies around Japan keeping eyes on its various protector Kaiju such as Mothra and King Caesar, with the biggest hurdle of them all being-

Boomstick: Godzilla, the King of the Monsters. Knowing that the Big G himself would be too great a threat for them to take on themselves, the Simeons, and yes I’m saying that correctly these are alien monkey-men, decided to construct the ultimate Godzilla-killing weapon. And thus his greatest rival was soon born; MECHAGODZILLA!

Wiz: But this titantical terror’s origins go back a tad further than even that. While the original run of Godzilla films during the Showa Era were meant to end with ‘Destroy All Monsters’ and the climactic final battle with King Gihdorah, parent company Toho would go on produce six more films for their Toho Champion Festival, a program aimed more kid-friendly movies that released during times when school was out.

Boomstick: These movies feature Godzilla at his most heroic for sure, and continuity wise all take place in-between Son of Godzilla and Destroy All Monsters. That said, these films, dubbed the Champion Series, didn’t have the biggest budgets and started doing worse and worse as time went on while becoming more reliant on stock footage.

Wiz: After the poor reception to Godzilla vs. Megalon, Toho made plans for Godzilla to fight a robotic foe of some kind in hopes to make their next Godzilla movie a massive hit, but struggled to decide on what kind of foe to use exactly. A few ideas were tossed around, such as the unused Garuga, until Toho producer Tomoyuki Tanaka would be inspired by the combination of Mecha Anime and King Kong’s own robot doppelganger Mechani-Kong to create the perfect rival.

Boomstick: And thus, MechaGodzilla as we know it was born, the perfect rival to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the King of the Monsters. There have been at least four distinct incarnations of MechaGodzilla, but today we’re focusing on the original Showa Era version. MechaG is composed of an alloy called Space Titanium, making it several times tougher than anything on Earth, and in addition, it’s got a disguise that lets it perfectly pretend to be Godzilla, complete with Fake Atomic Breath that it used to just bully poor Anguirus. Seriously! His poor jaw…

Wiz: Surprisingly, despite being a pure machine, MechaGodzilla does show a level of personality, primarily being a sadistic enjoyment in inflicting pain upon other kaiju. Appropriate given that when it’s time to fight, MechaGodzilla has a wide assortment of weapons at its disposal to choose from. Including missile launchers stored in both its fingers and toes, laser beams in its eyes, a flamethrower in its nostrils, and an electricity beam in its chest.

Boomstick: You may be thinking, who needs that many fucking projectiles? Well, MechaGodzilla does! He spams that shit as much as your average Guile main! Bro’s out here Sonic Boom camping in the back of the map, and if by some miracle you manage to get in close, he’ll flash-kick you away with a smack from his tail!

Wiz: It also has built in thrusters for flight, the ability to rotate its head 360 degrees to attack enemies from any angle, and a projectile reflecting forcefield-

Boomstick: And one jazzy as hell theme song!

Wiz: …and its Space Titanium armor is tough enough to take a hit from Godzilla’s Atomic Breath without a scratch, its eye lasers are powerful to stalemate it in a beam lock, and it’s physically strong enough to take on Godzilla and King Caesar, at the same time, and nearly win.

Boomstick: If MechaG’s got one weakness though, he absolutely sucks in close quarters combat, and in the end it was beaten by Godzilla turning himself into a fucking magnet to pull it into close range and twist that head enough until he found to sweet spot to just yank that head straight off.

Wiz: Not to be deterred though, the Black Hole Planet 3 aliens got to work on rebuilding MechaGodzilla into the new and improved MechaGodzilla Mark 2, this time enlisting the aid of a mad-scientist scoined by the Japanese science community, Shinzo Mafune, who helped rebuild and improve MechaGodzilla to be stronger than before and included rotating missile launchers in the fingers, as well as a backup brain hidden just below the head. However, according to Mafune, in order for MechaGodzilla to truly be complete, it needed a connection to living brain tissue to be truly complete.

Boomstick: Sooooo, the Black Hole aliens converted his daughter Katsura into a fucking cyborg and implanted MechaGodzilla’s controller inside her!

Wiz: They also gave Katsura control over Titanosaurus, a giant prehistoric dinosaur discovered by Mafune who they helped him gain control of with a special receiver.

Boomstick: Titanosaurus is already crazy strong in his own right. He's a super fast swimmer, can crush a submarine like it’s nothing, and is strong enough to contend with Godzilla in his own right. His tail can create high-pressure winds just by being swung, he can shoot both fireballs and sonic waves from his mouth.

Wiz: This is somewhat ironic though, as sonic waves capable of disrupting the receiver implanted on its head that allows Mafune and the Black Hole Planet 3 aliens to control it. Still, the combined might of MechaGodzilla and Titanosaurus were more than enough to overwhelm Godzilla in a fight, which begs the question, just how strong is the original Showa Series Godzilla?

Boomstick: Comparing MechaGodzilla to fellow Showa Series final boss King Ghidorah can give us some clues, since he could fly over 326 times the speed of light while weakened, and once gained control of a prism that absorbed 90 Petatons worth of energy for him! I can hear some of you asking, “when did this happen?” It happened in Zone Fighter, a bad Ultraman ripoff canon to the Showa Godzilla series. Not only does that bastard Ghidorah show up and fight Zone Fighter, Godzilla also comes in and hangs around a few times.

Wiz: Which is important, because Zone Fighter's home planet of Peaceland was blown up by some space nukes controlled by the Garoga aliens, which are said to be less powerful than King Ghidorah, and by analyzing the blast, we can conclude that it would have taken a TnT yield of 3.296 Quettakilotons to destroy Peaceland.

Boomstick: Recurring Godzilla foe Gigan also fought Zone Fighter, which helps with this scaling as well. By the way, Gigan once flew all the way to Earth from the Nebula M-Space Hunter. While it’s a bit hard to figure out exactly how long Gigan was flying to Earth, in the movie’s timeframe it only takes 11 minutes, so let’s go with that.

Wiz: Using the real life Orion Nebula as a placeholder, a mere 1340 light-years away from the Earth, this means Gigan would have been flying over Six Hundred-Forty Million times faster than light.

Boomstick: And since canon-wise the MechaGodzilla movies basically happen right before Destroy All Monsters, the end of the Showa Series, MechaGodzilla should absolutely scale to all of this! Man, you really don’t think these hold movies are gonna be that crazy, then BAM, they hit you Godzilla getting star busting scaling from some bad Ultraman rip-off.

Wiz: Together MechaGodzilla and Titanosaurus nearly annihilated Tokyo and almost managed to defeat Godzilla, until the timely arrival of the Japanese Military and Interpol agents, who killed Mafune and exploited Titanosaurus weakness to sound waves to stun the monsters and help take out the Black Hole Planet 3 aliens, while Katsura, now freed of the control of her vengeful father and the heartless aliens, chose to take her own life to shut down MechaGodzilla’s primary functions, giving Godzilla the opening he needed to destroy MechaGodzilla and end the invasion of the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens once and for all.

Boomstick: And then he killed Titanosaurus just for shits and giggles. Guess he really didn’t like being jumped up. While there have been a few sporadic appearances of this original MechaGodzilla in various manga, comics, and video games, none of them are canon to the original Showa Era. For all intensive purposes, this is where MechaG’s story officially ends.

Wiz: But as the final threat to the Earth the original Godzilla ever faced, MechaGodzilla left a lasting impression of terror upon the world, leaving behind a legacy of other equally powerful MechaGodzilla’s across the Heisei, Millennium, and even Monsterverse Series. So long as MechaGodzilla still exists, the King of the Monsters should always sleep with one eye open.

Pre-Battle

Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set and we've run the data through all possibilities.

Boomstick: IT'S TIME FOR A MECHA DEATH BATTLE!!!!!

Fight!

(Queue Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla 2 - Main Title)

[JAPAN - TOKYO]

Flames engulf Tokyo, destruction rears its ugly head as the city is bombarded by a rampaging monster bent on leaving nothing behind but death and devastating, and it’s only hero on its knees. A roar of pain is suddenly let out as Godzilla crashes upon the ground, the King of the Monsters left in a daze as the shadow of a metallic imposter looms above him; the shadow of MechaGodzilla, who lets out its own artificial roar as it leans down, picking Godzilla up by his tail before beginning to spin around and throw Godzilla away, sending him crashing into the Tokyo tower to mark the Kaiju’s defeat.

The invasion of Earth is underway, and Tokyo has already fallen…

[AMERICA - ANGEL GROVE]

A replay of Godzilla’s defeat is played upon a small magic crystal-like object in a highly advanced room, the footage being reviewed by a high-tech robot and a giant floating head in a tube.

Alpha 5: Ai-yi-yi-yi-yi! This is bad news Zordon!

Zordon: Contact the Power Rangers at once. I fear they may be this world’s only hope now.

Alpha 5 walks over to one of the many consoles adorning the Command Center and pressed a button, sending out the distress signal to call the Power Rangers. Quickly, five flashes of light, Red, Blue, Yellow, Black, and Pink, all came flying in as the five Teenagers with Attitude arrived.

Zack: Woah, what’s going on here?

Jason: Is Rita attacking again?

Zordon: I’m afraid it’s worse than that. Rangers, consult the viewing globe.

The team turned around to face the viewing globe, which continued to transmit footage of MechaGodzilla’s rampage across Tokyo.

Billy: Is that…a mechanical replica of Godzilla?

Zordon: That is MechaGodzilla, a creation of the Aliens from Black Hole Planet 3. Due to the loss of their home world, they are currently attempting to invade ours and conquer it. MechaGodzilla is their primary method of invasion.

Alpha 5: And they managed to complete it right under our noses!

Trini: Hang on, if their world is being sucked into a black hole, shouldn't they be more worried about saving their own people than wiping out us?

Zordon: Unfortunate as it is Trini, they do not appear to desire peaceful co-existence.

Kimberly: That’s so not cool for a number of reasons. You’d think they would have tried to make peaceful contact first.

Zack: Hey, am I the only one wondering what we’re supposed to do against the guy that beat freaking Godzilla?

Kimberly: That…is a good point actually.

Jason: Hey now, we all knew this job wasn’t gonna be easy. If Godzilla’s down, we gotta step-up and fight back. You guys with me?

Jason holds his hand out to the rest of the team, and the other four take a moment to look between each other before all piling their hands atop his.

(Queue Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Zords)

Zack: We’re with ya till the end man.

Trini: We aren’t gonna give up our world without a fight.

Zordon: Be careful Rangers, and may the power protect you.

Jason: Alright guys, IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!

And with that, all five Rangers reached into their back pockets and grabbed their Power Morphers.

Zack: Mastodon!

Kimberly: Pterodactyl!

Billy: Triceratops!

Trini: Saber-Tooth Tiger!

Jason: Tyrannosaurus!

And with that, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were teleported out of the Command Center, flying off to go fight the invasion of MechaGodzilla.

[JAPAN - MOUNTAIN RANGE]

The Power Rangers land down in a mountain range, standing atop a cliffside where Godzilla lays defeated against the mountainside and can only muster a weak look up towards the five Heroes.

Billy: Don’t worry Godzilla, we’ll take care of this!

Kimberly: Take 5 big guy.

Jason: Let’s not beat around the bush gang, the world’s at stake here.

Power Rangers: WE NEED DINOZORD POWER NOW!

In distant lands, the earth begins to open up, revealing the shiny red Tyrannosaurus-Rex Dinozord which roars out as it makes its way to the surface to heed Jason’s call, in the arctic the black Mastodon Zord cried out as it began to leave the ice continent and head to Zack’s location, the blue Triceratops Zord began racing across the desert towards Billy, the Saber-Tooth Tiger rushed out of a forest to find Trini, and the Pterodactyl came flying out of a volcano as it made its way straight to Kimberly.

In an instant the Five Dinozord’s converged upon each other as they made their way to Japan, arriving just in time to greet the Ranger’s as MechaGodzilla begins to approach the mountain where the defeated Godzilla lay, only to find new challengers alongside it.

Jason, recognizing the robotic Kaiju approaching them, quickly leaped into the air and landed atop his Dinozord, making his way inside and into the cockpit.

Jason: Alright Rangers, Log On!

Zack and Billy leaped into the air, Trini and Kimberly leaping after them, and the four other Rangers quickly made their way into the cockpits of their Zords as well.

Zack: Zack here, ready to rock!

Billy: Billy here, all systems online!

Trini: Trini here, ready to go!

Kimberly: Let’s show this guy a real giant robot!

Jason: Okay, let’s bring em together!

The Five Zords begin coming together, the tails of the Saber-Tooth Tiger and Triceratops opening up so they could combine with the Tyrannosaurus Zords feet, locking into place as the Mastodon split open, revealing a pair of arms as it locked in behind the Tyrannosaurus and the Pterodactyl locked into place upon its back like a perch. The Megazord’s cockpit lit up to reveal the five Rangers in their seats as the Megazord’s tank form began to rapidly approach MegaGodzilla.

Until it stopped moving.

Jason: Switching to battle mode now!

“Megazord sequence has been initiated!”

The Megazord began to stand upwards, the Saber-Tooth Tiger and Triceratops taking form as proper feet while hands emerged from the Mastodon Zord as its arms properly locked into place. The arms of the T-Rex Zord folded upwards while its head collapsed inwards, being covered by the Pterodactyl Zord that took rest upon the chest, revealing the big horned head of the Megazord, along with it’s full, true form.

The Megazord struck a pose as it was hit by a bolt of lighting, and its eyes glowed brightly.

“Megazord activated!”

Elsewhere, the formation of the Megazord was being observed by a high-tech laboratory adorned in silver material by the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens along with their recent ally Shinzo Mafune and his daughter Katsura, though a look of worry came upon Mafune’s face as he turned to the alien’s command, Mugal.

Mafune: I agreed to help you defeat Godzilla, not whoever these people are!

Mugal: You worry too much, doctor. Girl, continue the attack. These fools will easily fall before MechaGodilla’s strength.

Katsura: Yes…

The cyborg girl's eyes glowed, and back upon the battlefield so did MechaGodzilla’s as it began to approach the Megazord, shifting its focus onto the Rangers and away from Godzilla as the two massive mecha entered a standoff. A new challenger had appeared before it, and it would crush them like the rest.

The battle for the fate of the Earth had begun.

(Queue Power Rangers Redux - Fight Instrumental)

The Megazord took off running forwards, drawing one of its hands back to throw a mighty punch forwards that was caught by MechaGodzilla, the mechanical kaiju using the chance to pull the Megazord closer and roar in its face to assert dominance over its new opponent.

With that, MechaGodzilla spun around and swung its tail forwards, smacking the Megazord backwards and causing it to both stagger and release sparks of energy, inside the cockpit the Rangers were momentarily knocked off their seats from the impact.

Not be deterred however, Jason brought the Megazord around and came in with a right hook, throwing another solid punch that slipped past MechaGodzilla’s arms to punch it straight in the face, only for that to cause MechaGodzilla’s head to start spinning around on its rotation path.

Zack: Woah! I don’t think that's normal!

Suddenly, MechaGodzilla’s head stopped rotating and stared at the Rangers before it let out another shill screech and fired its eye-lasers to blast that knocked the Megazord backwards and out of melee distance.

Billy: Its head has rotation capabilities!

Jason: Billy, start running a scan for weak points! If it’s a robot, it’s got to have a power source!

Billy: On it!

Trini: Jason, look out! Missiles!

Jason quickly turned his focus back onto MechaGodzilla and gasped as the mechanical monster raised its arms and its fingers opened up to reveal missiles lodged within them, which fired outwards and exploded upon the Megazord with explosive force to blast it backward. The Megazord, however, quickly recentered itself and raised one hand to fire out a blast of fire of its own, which soared through the air to hit MechaGodzilla with a mighty explosion, although it did little damage to its Space Titanium armor.

No, the real point of the fireball was to create a smokescreen that the Megazord suddenly burst through, catching MechaGodzilla off guard as it punched the mecha kaiju in the chest before delivering a quick one-two combo to its face before raising one of it’s legs and giving MechaGodzilla a heavy kick to the gut with the Saber-Tooth Tiger Zord.

Kimberly: Get a taste of Ranger Power!

As if responding to Kimberly’s boast, however, MechaGodzilla spin back around and threw a punch of its own that impacted directly with the Megazord’s face, knocking the Rangers out of their seats for a moment while it moved to slash the Megazord across the chest and then knock it over with it’s tail, causing the ground itself to shake as the Megazord came crashing downwards.

Trini: Agh! We’re grounded!

Jason: Zack, the defense cannons!

Zack: On it!

With the Megazord stuck laying down on its chest, MechaGodzilla loomed over it and raised one foot to begin the process of crushing the Megazord’s head when the cannons on its back suddenly lit up, catching MegaGodzilla off guard before the cannons blasted it backwards, knocking MechaGodzilla off of its feet and sending it crashing into a nearby mountain.

Kimberly: That was way too close!

Jason: Kim, contact Tommy. We’re gonna need his help to take this guy out!

Kimberly: Right!

Back in the base of the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens, Mugal crossed his arms in displeasure at how much of a fight the Megazord was putting up against MechaGodzilla.

Mugal: Mafune, can your Titanosaurus compete with this… Megazord?

Mafune: Of course it can. Katsura, can you call Titanosaurus to come aid MechaGodzilla? Together they can destroy these fools!

Katsura: Of course, father. Titanosaurus will be here within three minutes.

Mugal: Hahaha, good. The Power Rangers days are numbered!

Back upon the battlefield, the Megazord picked itself back up onto its feet in time to see MechaGodzilla roaring at them before the jets on its feet ignited, and the giant robot kaiju took off flying towards them while firing its eye laser yet again. This time, however, the Rangers were prepared, and brought out the Mastodon Shield to reflect the laser’s back at MechaGodzilla, although the flying mecha managed to dodge the redirected attacks.

Jason: We need the Power Sword, now!

(Queue Power Rangers Redux - Combat Instrumental)

Suddenly, the Power Sword came flying down from space, hurtling through the atmosphere to be caught by the Megazord just as MechaGodzilla came in close, and the Rangers swung to strike it-

Katsura: “Dodge, MechaGodzilla!”

Only for MechaGodzilla to weave out of the way of the attack, allowing it to get behind the Megazord with a chortle of a laugh.

The Megazord is suddenly struck in the back by MechaGodzilla’s claws, causing it to stagger before it quickly spun back around, smacking MechaGodzilla with the Power Sword to keep it at arm's length. Brandishing the blade and letting it shine, the Megazord began walking forwards towards MechaGodzilla, who began to unleash its finger missile barrage yet again.

This time however, the Megazord walked through the onslaught of missiles, explosions ringing out around it as it stuck MechaGodzilla again with the Power Sword, the blade making sparks as it slashed across the Space Titanium Armor and forced MechaGodzilla backwards onto the defensive, though it’s armor was indeed still holding strong against the Ranger’s onslaught.

Kimberly: Man, what’s this guy made of?

Billy: Primary scan complete. I cross-referenced it with the Command Center’s databases, MechaGodzilla’s armor is composed of Space Titanium.

Zack: That’s a thing!?

Billy: That’s not all, I’m detecting a secondary brain-function within it’s lower neck area in addition to the primary receiver.

Trini: Then we’ll just have to get both in one strike.

Jason: Let’s show him how it’s done!

Power Rangers: RIGHT!

The Megazords Cranial Laser began to power up before firing outwards to keep MechaGodzilla on the defensive, pushing it backwards further while beginning to walk forwards and hastily approach it. Just then, however, MechaGodzilla began powering up its Cross Attack Beam and firing the orange electrical laser out to throw the Megazord off balance before beginning to barrage it with multiple projectiles, unleashing both its finger and toe missiles along with its eye lasers to overwhelm the Rangers.

Jason: Agh!

Zack: Man, this guy loves his projectiles! I’d hate to see him play a fighting game!

Trini: Zack, just stun him!

Zack quickly activated the Megazords own eye-lasers, causing its eyes to light up before the beam fired outwards, clashing against MechaGodzilla’s own eye lasers as the two giant mecha got into a beam lock that both sides were putting all of their effort into.

Mugal: "Crush them, MechaGodzilla!"

Billy: Rerouting extra power to the paralysis beams!

As the intensity of the clash grew, the ultimate victor finally emerged as the Megazords paralysis beam overtook MechaGodzilla’s space laser, causing it to screech outwards as it was paralyzed, leaving it open and vulnerable to attack from the approaching Megazord.

Mafune: "They’ve stunned MechaGodzilla. A system reboot will take 60 seconds!"

Mugal: "Titanosaurus must arrive now!"

Trini: Right down the center Jason!

The Megazord raised the Power Sword above its head, letting lighting strike it and imbuing it with a red electric glow as it stood before MechaGodzilla, ready to strike it clean down the middle of the robot and finish it off for good.

Jason: All right! Let’s finish this!

(Queue Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla - MechaGodzilla’s Theme)

Suddenly, another screeching roar could be heard before a fireball hit the Megazord in the back, causing it to stumble and stagger before a forceful blast of wind knocked it off of its feet.

Kimberly: Ah! What was that!?

Billy: Something behind us!

Trini: Another monster!

The screech could be heard again as Titanosaurus finally arrived upon the scene, launching as the prehistoric dinosaur walked over to begin kicking at the Megazord while it was down.

Mugal: “Titanosaurus arrived just in time. Now these fools are finished!”

Mafune: “MechaGodzilla’s reboot will be complete in 15 seconds.”

As Titanosaurus kicked at the Megazord again before kneeling its long head over and grabbing it by its backside, licking the Megazord into the air so it could begin spinning around and toss the Megazord into the nearby forest, causing it to crush and level several trees and kicking up tons of dirt.

Finally, MechaGodzilla’s eyes flashed as the system reboot was finished, and it walked over towards Titanosaurus so it could stand beside its partner and begin barraging the Megazord with its assortment of projectiles, creating more explosions in the area.

Jason: Augh, we’re pinned down! Man, we could really use your help right now Tommy!

[AMERICA - ANGEL GROVE]

Meanwhile, back in Angel Grove, a young man in green was walking out of the Angel Grove Youth Center carrying his school bag over one shoulder. That was, until his Wrist Communicator beeped its alert tune, and the youth quickly ducked into a nearby alley to answer the call.

Tommy: Hey, it’s me.

Zordon: "Tommy, you must head to Japan at once. The Rangers are in need of your assistance."

Alpha 5: "It’s looking bad Tommy!"

Tommy: Say no more, I’m heading out now.

(Queue Power Rangers Redux - Go Green Ranger Go Instrumental)

Setting his bag down on the ground behind a trash bin, Tommy reached back and grabbed his Power Morpher.

Tommy: It’s Morphin Time! Dragonzord!

[JAPAN - MOUNTAIN RANGE]

Returning to the battle at hand, the Megazord had managed to get back upon its feet and was currently trying to defend itself from the bombarding onslaught of projectiles with the Mastodon Shield, although between the combined might of MechaGodzilla and Titanosoaurus, its defenses were beginning to slip.

Billy: We can’t take much more of this!

Tommy: Hey guys, hope I’m not too late.

Jason: Tommy!

Kimberly: Only fashionably so. Good to see you Tommy.

The Green Ranger landed down on the mountainside, giving a quick salute to the still recovering Godzilla before turning back to face MechaGodzilla and Titanosaurus, the former of whom particularly caught his attention.

Tommy: Man, that guy’s riffing on my style! Well then, it’s time for some Dragonzord power!

Unsheathing the Dragon Dagger and raising it to the lips of his helmet, Tommy began to play the familiar tune from the Dagger’s flute that rang out for miles, catching the attention of MechaGodzilla before it noticed something far away in the distance.

Rising out of the water was something new. A green mechanical giant, the sixth Dinozord.

Mugal: “What is this!? They’re copying the style of our MechaGodzilla!”

Mafune: “Katsura, make sure MechaGodzilla crushes that impostor!”

Katsura: “Yes, father.”

The Dragonzord, which roared out in its own right as its feet stomped upon the land and it made its way across the battlefield, approaching the rival dragon mecha. MechaGodzilla turned its full focus to the Dragonzord and screeched before it began to charge at the challenger, and the two locked hands as the began to push back against each other.

Tommy: Let’s show this guy who's boss Dragonzord!

Playing the flute of the Dragon Dagger again, the Dragonzord received Tommy’s command and pushed MechaGodzilla back before smacking it away with its tail, then summoning up its Finger Missiles to blast Titanosaurus, causing it to fall over so the Megazord could get back up. As the Megazord finally got back onto its feet and found its balance, the Dragonzord walked over to its partner and roared again.

Tommy: Think I’ll get inside for this one, it’s getting kinda hot out here!

Leaping into the air and landing on the Dragonzord’s head, Tommy leaped down into its cockpit and fashioned himself into the seat.

Tommy: Dragonzord, convert to manual control now!

As MechaGodzilla picked itself back up and roared in rage, Titanosaurus stood beside it and hissed out as well as the two teams readied to charge at each other, and in the end MechaGodzilla and Titanosaurus moved in first, MechaGodzilla taking off into the air to attack the Megazord while the Dragonzord and Titanosaurus prepared to start facing off.

(Queue Godzilla vs Biollante - Bio Wars)

The Dragonzord and Titanosaurus instantly locked hands with each other, yet despite Titanosaurus’ overwhelming size advantage, the Dragonzord managed to match the strength of its opponent and started pushing it backwards. At the same time, MechaGodzilla brought its feet upwards and drop-kicked into the Megazord to knock it away before turning around to fire missiles at the Dragonzord, but Tommy was quick enough on the draw to turn the Dragonzord around and fire his own finger missiles outwards to counter the others.

Just as MechaGodzilla fired upon the Dragonzord, its head turned around 180 degrees to face the Megazord again as fire began to blast out of its nostrils, the attack being meant to keep the Megazord down, but the opposite problem instead came about. Instead of succumbing to the flames, the Megazord brandished the Mastodon Shield to push the fire back before it got in close and smacked MechaGodzilla aside with the Power Sword.

Tommy: Hey Jason, you wanna knock this guy down for me?

Jason: It would be our pleasure Tommy.

The Dragonzord quickly moved to grab one of Titanosaurus’ arms and began swinging the dinosaur around to make sure it was facing the Megazord, and while it began furiously waving its tail to blow gusts of wind at the Megazord, it was ultimately for naught as the Megazord came right on in and slashed the dinosaur over with one swing of the Power Sword. Even then, Titanosaurus was able to get back up and shoot a blast of fire out of its mouth that the Megazord countered with its own fireball attack.

Jason: Man, these guys are tough!

Kimberly: Hey, I’m picking up some strange Radio Signals.

Billy: Patch me through, I’ll see if I can figure out what’s going on.

As that went on, MechaGodzilla got back on its feet and began charging forwards, shoulder slamming into the Megazord with a loud CLANG sound before swinging its tail around to knock it backwards, then turning itself around to face the Dragonzord, both mechs staring off for a moment before firing their respective finger missiles at each other, resulting in them canceling each other out and hitting each other to explode in mid-air.

Just then, the Megazord got back up onto its feet behind MechaGodzilla.

Tommy: What you guys say we take him out together?

Zack: Sounds good to me man!

Jason: Let’s fire!

Quickly, the Megazord charmed up its Cranial Laser while the Dragonzord charged up the laser fin on its head, and both Zord’s fired their attacks out together to sandwich MechaGodzilla between them with a massive resulting explosion. One that, once it subsided, revealed MechaGodzilla completely unharmed as it camped inside its Defense Neo Barrier.

Tommy: No way!

Trini: That shield didn’t even crack!

MechaGodzilla suddenly dropped its force field and spun its head around, firing its eye lasers at the Megazord and shooting the orange electrical beam out of its chest at the Dragonzord to stun both Mecha.

As the battle between the four titans ranged on, the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens continued to watch from their command center, although Mugal was beginning to grow more impatient.

Mughal: Mafune! These pests are putting up more of a resistance than I would have liked!

Mafune: Patience, Mugal. MechaGodzilla’s armor is still holding, it can outlast the onslaught of the Megazord and Dragonzord just fine.

As the two continued to talk details however, Katsura, who was in the middle of issuing commands to both MechaGodzilla and Titanosaurus, suddenly looked down in surprise when the monitor before her suddenly fizzled out into static, before it was replaced with the image of the Blue Ranger inside the Megazord’s cockpit.

Katsura: The Blue Ranger…?

Billy: Huh? Hey, you’re not one of the aliens.

Katsura: No, I’m not. But my father is their ally, and so am I. You cannot keep fighting forever, Blue Ranger.

Billy: Wait a minute, are you the one controlling MechaGodzilla? Surely you know selling out humanity won’t end well for you or your father either.

Katsura: …I do as I am told. That is all. I don’t have a choice in the matter.

Billy: You’re wrong. There’s always a choice, and I know you can make the right one-

Suddenly, the brief connection between Katsura and Billy was severed, and she turned around to see Mugal standing above her.

Mugal: Fraternizing with the enemy, are you?

Katsura: …no. Continuing the attack.

Back on the battlefield, MechaGodzilla and Titanosaurus unleashed a bombardment of projectiles together upon the Rangers, but the Megazord summoned the Mastodon shield to deflect them and provide cover to the Dragonzord, which fired back more of its own finger missiles towards the monster duo.

Billy: Alright, I’ve located a weak point! The red one has a communication device embedded around its neck, if we blast out loud enough sound waves over the coms channel, I think we can stun it.

Jason: Great job Billy!

Kimberly: Broadcasting signal now!

With the flick of a switch, the Megazord began broadcasting an ultrasonic wave that caused Titanosaurus to suddenly shrill in pain as it clutched its head, the interference with the control device in its head causing it to completely freeze up and stop fighting, leaving it totally open to attack.

And then, the Dragonzord stepped forwards and charged up its Fin Laser to take advantage of said opening, unleashing the blast that cleanly sliced Titanosaurus in two before the gigantic dinosaur exploded, leaving nothing behind.

Tommy: Yeah! One down, and one to go!

Trini: Tommy, look out!

(Queue Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla 2 - Main Title)

Suddenly, a blue laser ripped through the air and tore into the Dragonzord’s torso, causing massive damage in one hit and causing the Zord to stagger backwards as sparks of damage began coming out of it.

MechaGodzilla began to advance towards the Power Rangers, roaring in fury as it unleashed every weapon it had upon the Ranger’s. Not just the usual Finger Missiles, Eye Lasers, and Chest Lighting that it had been using all fight. No, along with all of those, MechaGodzilla began unleashing its Pseudo-Atomic Breath from its mouth, which tore through the Dragonzord and left it incapacitated before it started to tear into the Megazord as well.

Trini: Ah! We’ve been hit!

Billy: The Megazord is losing power!

Kimberly: We’re going down!

As the Megazord collapsed onto the ground, MechaGodzilla reached down and threw the Megazord across the mountain range, letting it crash into the ground before it began to bombard them with more missiles and blasts from its Cross Attack Beam. The Dragonzord tried to get up, but just squealed in pain before succumbing to defeat.

Tommy: Ngh! Guys, I’m grounded!

While the Megazord continued to struggle against the onslaught of MechaGodzilla, however, Mugal and Mafune could only laugh at the notion of their soon to be complete triumph.

Mugal: Now, finish the job, MechaGodzilla.

MechaGodzilla heeded his master’s command and began to approach the downed Megazord, which lay helpless upon the ground as MechaGodzilla towered above it, and the Rangers inside.

Jason: Oh no, we’re sitting ducks!

Billy: Hang on, I think I can jump start the power systems!

MechaGodzilla raised one hand that it aimed to crush the Megazord’s head with.

Mugal: FINISH THEM!

Tommy: No!!

And then…

Kastura hesitated.

Mugal: …what are you waiting for? Finish them!

Katsura’s hand began to tremble and shake before her own eyes, and her heart began to beat rapidly.

“There’s always a choice, and I know you can make the right one.”

Katsura: No! I can’t do it!

Mafune: Katsura-

Mugal: Grrr! Out of my way girl!

Suddenly, Katsura was shot by Mugal, who then shot Mafune down before running over the command console and issued the command manually to MechaGodzilla.

Mugal: Kill the Power Rangers!

MechaGodzilla finally obeyed the other, and threw its fist downwards.

CLANG!

And its fist was caught in response, as the Megazord began standing back up, pushing MechaGodzilla onto its back feet as it did.

(Queue Jonathan Young - Power Rangers Power Metal)

Billy: I did it! Power systems back online!

Jason: Great work Billy, now let’s show this guy what’s what!

The Megazord quickly grabbed MechaGodzilla and pulled it back in close to punch it in the face, taking advantage of the mecha’s stunned state to begin pummeling it with a series of punches that finally knocked its head off, revealing the mechanical brain underneath!

Jason: Alright guys, let’s finish this!

Raising the Power Sword to the sky, Megazord let lighting strike the blade as it approached MegaGodzilla, the mechanical monstrosity’s murderous intent and coldness befitting a machine was suddenly replaced by overwhelming sense of fear and despair.

Inside the Megazord’s cockpit, Jason, Zack, Billy, Kimberly, and Trini all raised their hands, and mimicked the Megazord’s finishing move.

Power Rangers: HI-YA!!!

And thus, the Megaozrd brought the Power Sword down, clearly slicing through MechaGodzilla vertically in one, clean stroke. MechaGodzilla’s body split in half, the two sides becoming uneven before finally, they exploded like every other monster felled by the Power Sword. The battle was over.

Zack: We did it!

Trini: Yeah!

Kimberly: Woo!

Billy: Outstanding!

Jason: Morphenomenal!

Tommy: Good going guys!

Even in the Command Center, Zordon and Alpha 5 watched MechaGodzilla’s defeat with a sense of pride going through the great age.

Alpha 5: They did it Zordon, they won!

Zordon: Once again, the Power Rangers have overcome the odds stacked against them. I could not be more proud of them all right now.

As the Megazord set the Power Sword down, it looked up to see that even Godzilla had come to join the celebration, as he had finally recovered from his earlier defeat. First, Godzilla charged up and fired his Atomic Breath down upon whatever still remained of MechaGodzilla after being destroyed by the Power Sword, but then he looked back up towards the Rangers, and held his hand out.

Trini: Look, I think he’s thanking us.

Jason: Anytime big guy, anytime.

The Megazord held its hand out as well, and firmly shook hands with Godzilla, who roared in celebration at the victory.

On this day, the world had been saved once again, and humanity had triumphed.

Post-Analysis

(Queue Power Rangers Redux - Go Go Power Rangers Instrumental)

Boomstick: Best, childhood crossover, ever.

Wiz: While MechaGodzilla was a deadly killer who was certainly a worthy rival to the King of the Monsters, the Megazord didn’t go down so easily. MechaGodzilla’s ranged arsenal may have bought it some time, but ultimately it just didn’t have the means to keep up with the Rangers in extended battle.

Boomstick: MechaGodzilla may have been able to keep up with nukes that had the yield of an exploding star, but the Megazord has crushed enemy Zords that have tanked Supernova’s and kept up with Monsters powered by Black Hole making Energems!

Wiz: Keep in mind, to have created a black hole at the size that it could have swallowed the Earth instantly, the Dark Energem must have a power comparable to 17 FOE. Give a single Foe is the yield of a Supernova, the Megazord’s victory over Alpha 5 makes a whole more sense when you consider the Megazord fought a monster powered by four Energems.

Boomstick: Speed was no contest either! Comparing Gigan’s and the Zord’s trips across galaxies, the Zord’s were over a billion times faster, MechaG was never gonna land a solid hit!

Wiz: Plus, while MechaGodzilla’s arsenal was impressive, it ultimately fell short of the Megazord’s, which had comparable equivalents or counters to anything MechaGodzilla had. Both had eye beams, powerful finishing lasers, and reflectors, but The Megazord triumphed MechaGodzilla in close range combat, which is exactly where MechaGodzilla is at its least comfortable. And thanks to Billy’s genius, he could always find explotable weak points in MechaGodzilla’s design.

Boomstick: And while Titanosaurus was a capable ally, the Dragonzord was an infinitely more reliable partner. Not only is it piloted by Tommy Oliver, who’s just that guy, but it also gave the Ranger’s way more options for taking MechaG and Titanosaurus down like the Ultrazord.

Wiz: And that’s assuming that the Ranger’s didn’t just exploit Titanosaurus’ weakness to sound, which given Billy’s genius and the Megazord’s onboard comms systems, was entirely possible. Plus, consider this; the Rangers work together as a team, unified as one. They trust and rely on each other as equals, members of a team. In contrast, MechaGodzilla is partnered with a Dinosaur enslaved against his will and commanded by a tyrannical alien hell-bent on destroying humanity, a mad scientist loyal only to himself, and an unwilling cyborg who wanted no part in all this.

Boomstick: If the Ranger’s didn’t destroy MechaGodzilla, he was gonna fall on his own when his support team fell apart. I mean, that’s literally how Terror of MechaGodzilla ends, you guys have seen the movie right?

Wiz: In the end, the Power Rangers just had everything they needed to take down MechaGodzilla, Titanosaurus, and the Aliens of Black Hole Planet 3.
