History[]

Medusa is the second born of a trio of witches known as the Gorgon Sisters, witches whose appearance and powers reflect poisonous animals. Eight centuries prior, Medusa assisted her older sister Arachne Gorgon in her fight with Lord Death after using his research to create her own Magic Weapons. But Medusa left Arachne to her assumed fate and went into hiding, eventually coming to the conclusion that Death's rule is but a stagnation of the world and that only way for it to evolve is through unbound madness. Years later, inventing the madness-inducing Black Blood and melting the Demon Sword Ragnarok into before transfusing the cursed weapon into Crona, Medusa made her child into center piece of her master plan to release Asura from his prison so Crona can absorb the immortal and become the new Kishin. Feigning loyalty to the witches, Medusa posed as a nurse at the DWMA to locate where Asura was sealed. Though her body was destroyed once the first phase succeeded, Medusa's soul endured and resorts to bodily possession to see her plans through.
