Dinosaur King VS Digimon! These 2 might be Ash Ketchum copycats but that does not mean that they don’t know how to handle themselves in battle to death. It’s time for a Dinosaur VS Digimon death battle.
Intro[]
Wiz: Ash Ketchum: the boy from Pallet Town who vowed to one day become a Pokemon master…
Boomstick: ….and then proceeded to lose every freaking Pokemon league, release some of his strongest pokemon, and for some reason forget the most essential things about being a Pokemon trainer every time he travels to a new region. Seriously is this the guy that most people looked up to as a kid? I sometimes don’t get this world.
Wiz: Regardless of your personal opinion of the kid Boomstick , Ash has become an anime icon throughout the years and it was only a matter of time before characters were created that tried to copy Ash’s winning formula for success.
Boomstick: Of course these 2 copycats had to be paired up with a small cuddly creature that can grow bigger and smash things.
Wiz: Max Taylor and Chomp, The Unofficial Leaders Of The D-Team.
Boomstick: and Tagiru Akashi and Gumdramon, The Hyperactive Duo Of Team Xros Heart. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Max and Chomp[]
Wiz: Our world is filled with creatures much stronger than we humans could ever be. One young boy however made it his mission to travel around the world and collect as many of these creatures as possible with the help of 2 friends meanwhile evading an evil organization who wants to use the creature’s power for world domination. His name is NOT Ash Ketchum. It’s Max Taylor.
Max (Has a bad dream and falls of the bed): Ouch! How did that happen? I guess I fell asleep.
Boomstick: Are you sure about that Wiz? The kid sounds just like Ketchum or am I just imagining things.
Wiz: I’m sure Boomstick. Anyway, one day Max and his friends investigated a meteor crash site and instead of a space rock, they found a couple of strange stone tablets and 2 dinosaur cards. This was just the beginning of their adventure as they soon found out that a mad scientist from the future had traveled back to the past and captured several dinosaurs by turning them into cards. On the way back though, the time machine malfunctioned leaving the scientist and his minions stuck in our time. Also during the malfunction, all the dinosaur cards were scattered all around the globe. It became Max mission to find all the cards before the Alpha Gang got their hands on them once again.
Boomstick: Oh my god. The creator of this show is so getting sued for ripping of both Yu-Gi-Oh and Doctor Who. I’m also convinced this show copied several elements from Pokemon regardless of what you say Wiz. I may be overreacting a bit though. Its mot as if like this show has a goofy trio of villains that constantly annoy our heroes.
Max: My names Max but who are you?
Ursula: The Alpha Gang
Zander: Imagine your worst nightmares…
Ed:…except your wide awake.
Boomstick: ……………………It’s a Pokémon rip-off. Those goons sound just like Jessie and James.
Wiz: There is a reason for that as the voice actors that played Ash and Jessie lent their voices to Max and Ursula. In fact a lot of the voice actors from the Pokemon anime who has played one-off humans and Pokemon throughout the years voices characters in Dinosaur King.
Boomstick : (Groans) Sometimes I hate my job. At least there isn’t a cuddly mascot characters with power over electricity.
Wiz: About that…Max partner dinosaur is the triceratops Chomp. Chomp has 2 forms. First there is his child form that he remains in for most of the series. However after acquiring The Dino Holder from his dad, who built it from the stone tablets they’d found earlier, Max learned how to make Chomp grow to his adult form which for some reasons has the ability to conduct electricity.
Boomstick: You’re kidding me right? Well at least Chomp looks much cooler than Pikachu ever was. This dinosaur of power has fought and defeated several dinosaurs far stronger than him like a Tyrannosaurus rex and a Spinosaurus multiple times. Just like Chomp control electricity, those dinosaurs had power over fire and water respectively. Can someone explain to me why dinosaurs have superpowers all of a sudden?
Wiz: Each of the dinosaur cards represents an element. Since the tablet inside Max Dino Holder is that of electricity, he can summon Chomp due to his elemental nature. It also allows Max to use move cards. These kinds of cards contail special attacks that only specific elemental dinosaurs can use. For example, Chomp can use electricity move cards but not fire. Chomp is a very powerful dinosaur even without these move cards but with them, he becomes a force to be reckoned with. Max has a lot of move cards in his possession so Chomp has many powerful attacks ready to be unleashed.
Boomstick: With all of these move cards, Chomp might just be a far more adept electricity user than the yellow poster boy of Pokemon. Some of these attacks puts Pikachu’s thunder to shame. The move cards that are used very often by Max are Electric Charge, which allows Chomp to absorb a lot of lightning into his body before using it to ram his opponents, and Lightning Strike, in which Chomp releases a large beam of electricity from between his horns.
Wiz: Chomp is also able to ram his opponent and throw them into the air before hitting them with a large amount of electricity with Lightning Spear, jump into the air to collect lightning before slamming into an opponent with Thunder Bazooka, create a rope made of electricity that grabs onto the opponent that can be used to throw them into the air and then slam them to the ground with Plasma Anchor, hit the opponent with a string of quick horn attacks before throwing them in the air with Gatling Spark, drill any opponent to the ground with Thunder Driver, and lastly release a barrage of small thunder blasts along with one powerful beam of electricity with Final Thunder.
Boomstick: It doesn’t end here however as Chomp still has one last ace up his sleeve coming in the form of another thing they copied from another more popular series which in this case is Power Rangers. It’s called the DinoTector armor and it’s basically just a Battlizer worn by a dinosaur instead of a ranger.
Wiz: The DinoTector armor was created to combat the dinosaurs that the Spectral Space Pirates used in their quest to control both time and space. These dinosaurs that wore spectral armor gave them a huge increase in both strength and defense. Just one dinosaur wearing spectral armor could defeat all of Max and his friend’s dinosaur partners as well as the Alpha Gangs all at once. The DinoTector Armor gave the heroes a fighting chance as they joined forces with the Alpha Gang to travel across time and space to stop the pirates.
Boomstick: Ignoring the ridiculous plot of the second season that ripped of most time travel stories, The DinoTector armor didn’t just give Chomp a boost in offense and defense though. It also gave him the ability to use a move card that was specifically designed to work with his new wardrobe. It’s called Ultimate Thunder and it definitely fits this finishing attack as when used by Max; Lightning bolts rain down from the sky around the unlucky foe with the final bolt stunning him or her. Chomp then charges at his opponent with all of his might and completely destroys them. This move is an instant win if it connects as is reverts any dinosaur it hits into their card forms.
Wiz: It can be dodged though if the opponent is quick enough to dodge.
Boomstick: Regardless, Chomp is a badass dinosaur with superpower but none of this would have been possible if it hadn’t been for his human partner Max. It is the kid’s job to choose the most effective move cards and direct Chomp in battle. Chomp isn’t exactly the smartest dinosaur so he needs good commands from his partner in battle. Unfortunately, Max isn’t the best partner a giant prehistoric monster could ask for.
Wiz: Max might have made it his mission to save the dinosaurs but that does not mean he is a saint by any means. Max is cocky, can get full of himself, childish, and runs into danger all the time. He is also rather clumsy and sometimes his pride and selfishness can get in the way of the mission.
Boomstick: Yeah Max isn’t the kid you imagine to have the world on their shoulders.
Wiz: He has gotten better though. As the series progressed, Max learned how to become a better person, lessen some of his flaws, and learn the value of teamwork. His strategies and knowledge of dinosaurs have saved him and his friends many times. He may not be a tactical genius and not very good in school but if anyone he cares about is in trouble; he will go the extra mile to protect them whether they are human or dinosaur.
Boomstick: Chomp himself isn’t perfect either. If he uses too much energy or receive enough damage, he will revert to his card form. Also most of his battle has been won using move cards. While I think they definitely make this triceratops badass, it does seem sometimes like he and Max depends too much on them in battle.
Wiz: You still probably want a deck of those cards though?
Boomstick: You bet I do Wiz. If I had enough of those cards, no one would be able to force me to pay taxes, take out the laundry, wash the dishes, or get mugged. I would just need to summon T Rex to make all the dumb salesmen and ex-wives to leave me alone. Maybe this Pokemon copy isn’t so bad after all.
Wiz: Regardless of what your thoughts are on Dinosaur King, Max and Chomp is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Max: Dino Slash! Triceratops, roar!
Tagiru and Gumdramon[]
Wiz: Digimon has always been the biggest rival to Pokemon since the age of media began. Their rivalry is legendary but Pokemon has always had the biggest fan base. This fan base has many times accused Digimon of being a copycat of Pokemon.
Boomstick: Which is Kind of ridiculous as when one watch both shows back-to-back, you realize how different they really are. Sure they both feature kids befriending cute monsters and use them to battle other creatures but that are where the similarities end. The only thing that very closely reminds me of Pokemon and its main protagonist is a hyperactive and annoying kid from the 6th season of Digimon by the name of Tagiru Akashi.
Wiz: That opinion a lot of people share as Tagiru is one of the most despised characters in the Digimon franchise by the majority of the fandom.
Boomstick: Really? Sure the kid looks a little goofy with that hair of his and he probably eats too much sugar for breakfast but I still don’t see where all the hate is coming from.
Wiz: Tagiru is rude, selfish, a pervert, easily fooled and a thrill-seeker that runs into dangerous situations without thinking of the consequences.
Boomstick: ………Now I can see why this guy is hated upon. He is much more of a dick than me.
Wiz: Tagiru is the newest member of Team Xros Heart which is led by his idol Mike… I mean Taiki Kudo. One year ago he and a couple of other children were flung into the digital world where he acquired many allies in his journey to save both it and the real world from being destroyed by the evil emperor Bagramon. Taiki is actually a really good role model as he is nice, never turns his back on anyone that needs help, and excels at almost every sport.
Boomstick: He might have chosen the right role model but Tagiru definitely does not have any of the skills which make Taiki popular with the fans. He does have his moments though to give the guy some credit.
Wiz: The only thing that Taiki and Tagiru have in common is that they both are partnered up with a digimon and are along with other children the only thing standing in the way of evil digimon using the human world for their own selfish reasons. Depending how you look at it, Tagirus partner Digimon is almost the same as him in every category.
Bomstick: Gumdramon is literally a digimon version of Tagiru. Just like his human partner, Gumdramon seeks to surpass his mentor who is the king of the digital world and Taikis main digimon partner. He also has a rather big ego and is rather confident in himself to a fault just like his master. When they first meet, the only reason Gumdramon wanted Tagiru around was to gain the power to evolve and get stronger.
Wiz: They did become good friend though in the end and unlocked the power to evolve Gumdramon into his evolved form Arresterdramon. But before we look at his evolved forms arsenal in battle, we have to analyze his normal form.
Boomstick: With his giant hammer for a tail, this little guy can both hit a nail without hurting himself and release powerful attacks like Ran-gum Break and Jacked Hammer. He can also turn himself into a vortex of deadly fire with Fire Vortex. When he turns into Arresterdramon, he gains the ability to fly and access to even more awesome moves like Mach Flicker, where he unleashes a barrage of high speed punches, and Prism Gallet, where he surrounds himself with energy and splits into several dragon-shaped energy fragments which then converse on the enemy.
Wiz: He can also attack with his tail anchor using Flog Shot and Spin Caliber and become a pinwheel of death with Spiral Shredder. All of these moves are very impressive but they pale in comparison to the power of DigiXros.
Boomstick: It’s basically fusing several digimon together to get an even more powerful digimon. Some of these fusions are rather insane. These include Giant Gundams, nightmarish creatures that will keep you up at night, and things that look like preschoolers designed them. The creators must have had a blast designing all of these.
Wiz: All of these fusions would not have been able without a Xros Loader
Boomstick: Don’t you mean a Digivice?
Wiz: Kind off. The Xros Loader is the Xros wars/Fusion dimensions version of a Digivice, Every version in the Digimon multiverse has their own features unique to that dimension. The Xros Loader has the ability to store several digimon at all times and also is responsible for fusing many of these together into more powerful individuals. Tagiru has used his Xros Loader to fuse Arresterdramon with several different Digimon that they have captured and defeated.
Boomstick: Some of these Digimon that Arresterdramon has been Digixrosed with is MetalTyrannomon, which gives him a sweet boost in strength and defense as well as a cool paint job, Sagomon, which gives him access to Sagomons awesome weapon that can both slash his foes to pieces or eject a powerful blast of water at them, Blossomon, which enables him to trap his enemies with the huge vines growing on his back, Ogremon, which is kind of useless as it only gives him access to club to whack his foes with, and GigaBreakdramon, which turns him into a large mech with a drill for a nose. This last one might be Arresterdramon most powerful Digixros but like with all good things; it comes with a downside as Arresterdramon goes berserk in this form and therefore attacks both friends and enemies alike. The only way this form can be used effectively is if Tagiru manages to climb up to the top of his partners head and pull some levers to give him control of the purple mech.
Wiz: Arresterdramon has also Digixrosed with the likes of Sparrowmon and Dobermon but since those digimon belong to other Hunters; those DigiXroses will not be used in this death Battle. Still we have yet to mention Arresterdramon ace in the hole; His superior Mode.
Boomstick: I’m not seeing the blond hair. Are you sure he went super Saiyan?
Wiz: I said Superior Mode, Not Super Saiyan. Due to his close bond with Tagiru, Arresterdramon gained the ability to evolve a second time. His new form might look similar to his regular one but don’t make that fool you. Arresterdramon Superior Mode is powerful enough to shrug of attacks that would have decimated him normally and is fast enough to avoid several projectiles at once. His strength is also is much greater than before. The downside though is that Arresterdramon does not really have any special attacks to unleash in this form other than covering himself in blue energy and tackling his opponents.
Boomstick: That’s actually a pretty disappointing arsenal for the final form of a Digimon. Omnimon has that cool looking sword and Imperildramon has a canon that shoots nuclear blasts. I expected Arresterdramon Superior Mode to have something equally as cool but this is just sad.
Wiz: Other than his Superior Modes lack of attacks, Gumdramon severe similarities to Tagiru has often led to him losing many battles and if he receives enough damage, he will devolve back to Gumdramon. Also both Tagiru and Gumdramon are definitely no strategists meaning for most of the time their plan of attacks is just to overpower their foes or use a Digixros for more power.
Boomstick: The duo even sometimes steals victory from his friends by ordering Arresterdramon to unleash the final attack and capture the rouge Digimon after having done nothing to deserve it. Taiki might be a nice guy but he really should give that kid some spanking for taking all the glory all the time. He even has the balls to complain as Taiki and Yuu captures a Digimon instead of him when he in retrospective has more than enough already. I don’t think even Ash Ketchum is this greedy.
Wiz: That being said, they did save the entire world from the digital entity Quartzmon that had dragged the entire Earth into a parallel digital dimension. That he and Arresterdramon however used the previous main characters from the previous seasons as batteries to power the weapon able to kill Quartzmon did not improve his standing with the fans any better.
Boomstick: He might be a Spotlight-Stealer but I have to admit, Tagiru and Gumdramon is one good Digimon Hunting team.
Tagiru: Gumdramon! Shu-Shinca!
Intermission[]
Wiz: All right, the combatants are set, it's time to end this debate once and for all!
Boomstick: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!
Death Battle![]
DigiQuartz:
Tagiru: Where are all the Digimon? I need to hunt a lot so that I can surpass Taiki.
Tagiru Akashi was currently not having a good time. He had just entered DigiQuartz looking for some action and to expand his Digimon roster in his Xros Loader but unfortunately, there was no Digimon in sight. First he had failed his math test and now he was having no luck in hunting Digimon either. This was turning out to be a bad day.
Gumdramon: Sheer up Tagiru. We will find one eventually and when we do; they will feel the strength of the wild child of the digital world and his partner.
Tagiru: Yeah I know that but I am just so bored. My body craves some action or it will shut down.
Gumdramon chuckled at his partner’s situation but he was rather bored as well. He had been stuck in the Xros Loader the entire day so Gumdramon really felt like hitting something to relieve the boredom
Unknowingly to both of them, their wish would soon be granted as a beam of light suddenly shot down from the sky and into an alleyway somewhere behind them. As the light disappeared, 2 figures were standing where it had hit the ground
Max Taylor was feeling rather lightheaded at the moment. The last thing he remembered was touching a red button on the main console of Dr Zs time machine to his friends protest. He really should have listened to them but there was nothing he could do about it now. Suddenly he felt something biting his leg.
Max: Ouch that hurt Chomp.
Chomp did what he was told and let go of Max leg before proceeding to jump at the boy knocking him down. Before Max could react, Chomp was licking his face.
Max: Stop that Chomp! It tickles.
It was then that Tagiru and Gumdramon entered the alleyway and saw the 2 lying on the ground. Tagiru looked at Chomp with stars in his eyes and steam coming out of his nose while Gumdramon looked at the dinosaur with suspicion. That was not a Digimon so what was it?
Tagiru: Hey Kid! I challenge you to a duel.
Max first now noticed the 2 newcomers. Pushing Chomp off him and then getting up on his feet, Max gave Tagiru and Gumdramon a quick look. His eyes at once centered on Gumdramon. Max knew of many dinosaurs but this one he had never read in any books about.
Max: I would like to accept that challenge but I have currently other problems to take care of.
Tagiru: Maybe you are just scared that you will lose. I am awesome after all.
Max: I’m not scared. I will prove that by beating you and your weird-looking dinosaur right here and now.
As his pride took control of his actions, Max took out his Dino holder along with his deck of move cards. Tagiru raised his Xros Loader with a goofy smile as he saw this. It was about time for some fun.
FIGHT!
Sensing their respective partner’s intentions, Chomp and Gumdramon charged at each other. Gumdramon at once released a barrage Ran-Gum Break attacks by swinging his hammer tail around. Caught unaware, Chomp was hit hard in the face sending the baby dinosaur into the side of a building.
Max: Chomp!
As Gumdramon prepared to finish the small dinosaur of with a Jacked Hammer attack, Chomp rolled out of the way at the last minute as the hammer tail hit the ground and caused a small quake.
Frustrated over having missed its target, Gumdramon looked around to find Chomp but his eyes failed to pick up the baby dinosaur. It wasn’t until he felt something touch his tail that he knew exactly where Chomp was. It was too late unfortunately.
Chomp had already sinked his teeth into Gumdramons tail. The result was a high pitched scream from the Digimon.
Gumdramon: GET HIM OF ME! GET HIM OF ME! GET HIM OF ME! GET HIM OF ME!
Both Tagiru and Max could not help but fall to the ground laughing their ass of at Gumdramons predicament as he ran in circle screaming and trying to loosen Chomps hold on his tail. It was a hilarious sight to watch.
Having had more than enough, Gumdramon activated his Fire Vortex ability. The sudden appearance of the intense flames prompted Chomp to let go and this was exactly what Gumdramon had been hoping for. Seizing the moment, he used his hammer tail to slam Chomp hard into the ground before readying another Jacked Hammer attack. This time Chomp was too dazed to even attempt to dodge it. Luckily Max had just stopped having his laughing fit and saw the danger his partner was in.
Max: Hold on Chomp! I will save you.
Gumdramon attack hit the empty ground once again missing its target as Max had just managed to click a couple of buttons on his Dino Holder to recall Chomp into his card form in his hand. Tagiru just looked at Max confused over his actions before a teasing expression appeared on his face.
Tagiru: Giving up already? I guess Gumdramon was just too much for your adorable little Digimon.
Gumdramon: Yeah I’m not the wild child of the digital world for nothing.
To their surprise, Max meet their teasing with an impish smile that signaled that he knew something they didn’t.
Max: I don’t really know what a Digimon is but I’m definitely not giving up. I and Chomp are far from finished. Dino Slash! Triceratops, roar!
The sudden appearance of Chomps adult form appearing out of nowhere completely took Tagiru and Gumdramon by surprise. It was only when Chomp smashed right into him with his horns that Gumdramon mind cleared up but by then the digimon had hit the ground so hard that a small crater had been created.
Tagiru: Are you okay Gumdramon?
Gumdramon: I’m fine but we should probably step up our game if we want to win.
Tagiru: Yeah let’s show these amateurs why we are the best Digimon hunters in this neighborhood. Gumdramon! Shu-Shinca!
This time Max and Chomp were flabbergasted as they witnessed the transformation of Gumdramon into Arresterdramon.
Arresterdramon: Alright let’s get this fight started for real.
Chomp let out a challenging shriek in response to Arresterdramon taunting as the dinosaur got into his fighting stance. Arresterdramon did the same as they prepared for the inevitable clash.
Max: Chomp Teach these guys a lesson for insulting us!
Tagiru: Show them whose boss Arresterdramon!
Arresterdramon began the battle by releasing a barrage of punches at Chomp with Mach Flicker. Angered by all the punches to his face, Chomp head-butted Arresterdramon flinging him into the air. He did not come down however to Chomp surprise as Arresterdramon was hovering in the air laughing at him.
Arresterdramon: Try getting me up here you dumb lizard.
Max: Thunder Bazooka!
The sudden charge in power prompted Chomp to jump in the air, his body growing with electricity, towards Arresterdramon at high speed. The Digimon had no time to dodge as Chomp hit him dead on sending both crashing to the ground.
Tagiru: Wow he is strong so I bet you will need a increase in defense Arresterdramon. DigiXros! Arresterdramon/MetalTyrannomon!
Chomp tried to charge Arresterdramon once again with his horns but this the Digimon just stood there and took it head on without receiving any damage with his new metallic body. Arresterdramon just smirked at this as he grabbed the triceratops and threw him high into the air before flying up in the air himself and slam Chomp down to the ground with Spin Caliber.
Max: Get yourself some distance from that thing Chomp. I don’t really know how but his defense has somehow increased expediently.
Chomp did what partner suggested and began to get some distance from Arresterdramon. In response, the Digimon charged at Chomp with his metallic gauntlets.
Max: Let’s see how he handles this. Lightning Strike!
The beam of electricity hit Arresterdramon head on but it did nothing to slow him down. Chomp dodged the incoming punch at the last minute and hit Arresterdramon in the face with his tail in order to get some time to once again get some distance from his opponent.
Max: I guess I should have payed more attention in school. Metal is a conductor of electricity after all.
Tagiru: Nothing can dent Arresterdramon Xros Ups armor. You should have known not to take on your seniors.
Max: Don’t be so sure. Can your friend handle being a ragdoll? Plasma Anchor!
Arresterdramon prepared himself for another beam of electricity but instead a rope of lightning came out from between Chomps horns and ensnared him. Before he could react, Arresterdramon was flung into the air before being slammed hard into the ground several times in a row.
Tagiru: Come on Arresterdramon! They are making us look like fools. Get your head in the game.
Arresterdramon: You’re not the one getting his ass kicked so stop shouting at me. DigiXros me with someone else.
Tagiru: Okay! DigiXros! Arresterdramon/Ogremon!
Tagiru at once canceled the DigiXros with MetalTyrannomon and replaced it with Ogremon. Arresterdramon tried to whack Chomp with his club but the dinosaur countered with another move card that Max had just activated.
Max: Gatling Spark!
The string of quick horn attacks flung the club out of Arresterdramons hands before pummeling the Digimons body next. As Chomp flung him into the air after the last horn attack, Arresterdramon regained his balance with some effort as he quickly flew down and hit the dinosaur with a Flog Shot attack from his tail. The attack disoriented Chomp for a couple of seconds and that was more than enough time for Arresterdramon to grab his club and whack him so hard he almost flew right into his human partner. Max luckily dodged at the last moment to avoid being squished.
Max: Phew that was a close one. Are you ready for some payback Chomp? Lightning Spear!
Chomp roared in agreement as he charged at Arresterdramon ready to pierce him with another lightning attack. Tagiru however had another idea though as he canceled the current DigiXros.
Tagiru: DigiXros! Arresterdramon/Blossomon!
Before Chomp could reach his target, the large 4 vines that suddenly appeared on Arresterdramons back ensnared him preventing the dinosaur completing the attack. It wasn’t easy however to keep Chomp from escaping as Arresterdramon had to use all his might to hold him.
Max: Chomp Do what you do best!
The dinosaur might not be the smartest but he got the drift of what Max was saying. He opened his mouth and took a big bite of the vine closest to his face.
Arresterdramon: AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
As the grip around Chomp loosened, he used the opportunity to finish the special attack he had started. He hit Arresterdramon so hard that he was thrown in the air. Chomp jumped after him and rammed him in the air. The moment his horns met with Arresterdramon body, the Digimon was hit by a strong current of electricity. Chomp landed on his feet while Arresterdramon landed not so gracefully.
Arresterdramon: That hurt. What is with him and biting everything he sees?
Max: I don’t really dont get it myself but I know from experience that his bite hurts a lot.
Tagiru: Don’t talk with the enemy. If they want to fight with electricity, we shall fight with water. DigiXros! Arresterdramon/Sagomon!
Arresterdramon gave Tagiru a perplexing look as yet again his DigiXros was replaced with another.
Arresterdramon: You do know water is not the best element to use when you are fighting an enemy with control over electricity right?
Tagiru: ……….I knew that…Just blast that lizard already!
A barrage of water blasts bombarded Chomp before the dinosaur could even react. Arresterdramon prepared to unleash yet another barrage from Sagomons weapon that he was holding when Max slashed yet another move card.
Max: Final Thunder!
The water blasts collided with the bolts made of electricity that generated all around Chomp. Arresterdramon was forced to dodge as giant beam of thunder headed his way. It missed by just a couple of millimeters and when he looked back; Arresterdramon saw just how close he had been to being obliterated as the beam had destroyed several buildings behind him.
Arresterdramon: Wow! Just Wow!
Chomp charged at Arresterdramon with his horns but the Digimon countered with Spiral Shredder sending Chomp backwards. A second Spiral Shredder attack hit Chomp so hard that he let out a louad roar of pain. That did not mean the dinosaur was out of the fight as he dodged the next Spiral Shredder causing Arresterdramon to collide with a wall instead.
Tagiru: We are losing. I can’t believe it. DigiXros! Arresterdramon/GigaBreakdramon!
Almost immediately after activating the DigiXros, Tagirus eyes widened in fear as he realized what he had done. He had completely forgotten about GigaBreakdramons habit of going on a rampage.
The out of control DigiXros roared as all his drills started to smash into buildings and destroy everything in sight. Chomp and Max had to dodge to the best of their ability to avoid being killed but so was Tagiru. The hunter tried to climb upon the giant purple robots head but was thrown of almost immediately.
Max: That thing is out of control. We have to act now or we are finished. Electric Charge!
Lightning rained down from the heavens and into Chomps body. With a new surge of power within him, the dinosaur charged at the rampaging Arresterdramon. Lots of smoke was created as the 2 collided making it impossible for the boys to see what happened to their respective partners. Soon enough, 2 figures could be seen panting heavily as the smoke disappeared.
Arresterdramon was back to normal having been hit out of his DigiXros but he was tired. Any moment now he would turn back to Gumdramon and then this battle would be over. He could not allow that to happen. If he can’t beat this enemy, what hope did he have to surpass the king one day? It was time to unleash his ace in the hole.
Chomp could barely stand but his willpower was the only thing keeping him in the fight. He had used too much of his energy in this fight. Soon he would turn back into his card form but there was one function left on Max Dino Holder that hadn’t been used yet. Now was the time to activate it.
As if reading their partners thoughts, Max and Tagiru raised their respective devices into the air and shouted;
Max: Element Booster! DinoTector On
Tagiru: Arresterdramon! Shu-Shinca!
Arresterdramon form changed into a more ferocious one.
Chomp began to glow as shiny armor appeared on his body.
The 2 threw themselves upon each other several times. Horns against claws, head against head, and tail against tail. After a few clashes, Arresterdramon Superior Mode has several large bruises on his body while Chomp armor had started to break into pieces in certain areas. They were both exhausted to a point but neither was willing to give up.
Arresterdramon SP dodged yet another of Chomps attacks as he grabbed the dinosaur by the tail and flew up into the air before throwing him so hard that Chomp created an enormous crater as he impacted with the ground. The Digimon flew down and tried to do a repeat but Chomp took a couple of steps backwards causing Arresterdramon SP arm to get stuck in the ground. Chomp used the opportunity to ram into the trapped Digimon with all his might and the result was Arresterdramon SP being launched backwards through several buildings and then equally as many trees as he finally landed hard in a park.
As Chomp ran after his opponent destroying everything in his path, Max and Tagiru followed to the best of their ability. When the 3 arrived, Arresterdramon SP was looking at Chomp with fire in his eyes.
Arresterdramon SP: Let’s finish this. This next string of attacks will decide the victor.
Chomp roared in agreement as Max prepared one of his last move cards for use. At the exact same time, Arresterdramon SP body began to glow blue. This was it; the moment of truth of who would win and who would lose.
Max: You’ve got this Chomp! Ultimate Thunder!
Tagiru: Go Arresterdramon SP! Show them our strength!
Lightning bolts rained down from the sky around the combatants as they prepared for their final clash. Chomp glowed yellow with electricity while Arresterdramon SP was completely covered in blue flames. One lightning bolt hit Arresterdramon SP but it did little to slow him down as he charged at Chomp as fast as he could muster. Chomp did the same thing and charged forward his tail glowing and releasing such a large amount of energy that his speed increased expediently.
At first as the 2 passed each other and the lightning storm disappeared, Chomp and Arresterdramon SP looked rather unharmed but then…….
Arresterdramon SP let out a loud shriek of pain as he fell to his knees with 2 large holes in his stomach that went right through his body.
Tagiru: ARRESTERDRAMON SP!
Without thinking things through, Tagiru ran towards his fallen partner. Max having not noticed that Tagiru was in the line of fire ordered Chomp to execute the final attack.
Max: Alright let’s finish this! Thunder Driver!
The sheer force of the triceratops colliding with his body sent Tagiru right into Arresterdramon SP. Not many second later, Chomp smashed so hard into the pair that they were launched into the air. Chomp jumped so high after them that he ended up above pair. On the way down, Chomp rotated in the air so fast that became a drill of lightning.
Arresterdramon SP: I’m sorry Tagiru
Tagiru: We can’t lose now. I still have to surpass Taik……….
He was never able to finish that sentence as Chomp drilled them down into the ground so hard that Arresterdramon SP dissolved into pieces of data while Tagirus body was completely eradicated from existence.
Max: Huh where did they go? One second they were here and now they are not. They probably ran away when they realized they had no chance in winning against a member of the D-Team.
Max laughed as he turned Chomp back into his child form unaware that he had just ordered his partner to commit mass murder.

- Max is punished by Zoe with a fist to the head for touching things without thinking of the consequences and making her worry about his wellbeing as he and Chomp returned to the time machine.

Boomstick: I hope that kid never finds out what he just ordered his dino buddy to do. That would surely scar him for life.
Wiz: This was an extremely close match. Maybe even the most difficult battle to decide the winner of in Death Battle history. We are being very serious here. This battle really is so close that depending on the circumstances both teams could have won this fight.
Boomstick: At first it does not seem that way as Gumdramon beat the crap out of Chomp in his child form. It would have been a stomp in Tagiru and Gumdramons favor if Chomp had remained in this form. As they went into their evolved forms however, it was clear that we were in for a very even matchup between these 2 teams specializing in defeating giant monsters.
Wiz: Arresterdramon might have had the advantage in attacks to unleash and forms to take during the battle but Chomps barrage of move cards kept the Digimon at a distance. In terms of strength, they are rather equal as they both have taken on foes stronger than themselves. They usually also need the assistance of their friends to defeat the dinosaur/Digimon threat of the day making it clear that they aren’t exactly the strongest fighters in their respective universes.
Boomstick: It is when Chomps gets his sweet-looking armor and Arresterdramon enters his final evolution stage that the winner becomes clear. The answer is rather simple once you look at Arresterdramon SP track record. The guy only has 2 appearances to his name while Chomp has used the DinoTector armor many times telling us that Chomp is more experienced in his final form than Arresterdramon is. It doesn’t make things better that Arresterdramon SP has the worst move set I have ever seen of a Digimon.
Wiz: Arresterdramon SP might have been able to beat foes that the normal Arresterdramon couldn’t defeat but both times he appeared, they were not very impressive. The first time when he battled against the strange rock monster, it had already been weakened by WarGreymon and ShinningGreymon. The second time was even less impressive as Arresterdramon SP was at once DixiXrosed with the Brave Snatcher to defeat Quartzmon. If he had not DigiXrosed with it, Arresterdramon SP would have been completely destroyed.
Boomstick: Chomp on the other hand was one of the first to defeat one of the Spectral Space Pirates powerful dinosaurs and once he defeated all of the Alpha Gangs main dinosaurs with one move card. He is also able to use any of his move cards regardless if he is wearing the DinoTector armor or not with the exception of Ultimate Thunder which is more than I can say for Arresterdramon SP arsenal.
Wiz: Now before you start raging at us about the result, we did try to find attacks for Arresterdramon SP on the different Digimon wikis but each that we checked listed no moves for him forcing us to only go of the anime to analyze his capabilities. Also since there are no levels in the Xros Wars/Fusion part of the Digimon multiverse, we can’t really classify Arresterdramon SP as a Mega. If WarGreymon from the Adventure dimension can defeat a group of MaloMyotismon in the Xros Wars/Fusion dimension but not VenomMyotismon without help in his own which is far weaker than a MaloMyotismon, you know something is wrong.
Boomstick: We have now analyzed the creatures but we have still to say who is superior of the human partners. Here it is also very even due to the many similarities between the 2. It’s actually a bit scary how close this battle is.
Wiz: To answer this, we looked at the boys very carefully and came up with that Max is superior but not by a lot. Max is a bit more of a strategist than Tagiru. He is still not very smart but he is still slightly more intelligent than Tagiru.
Boomstick: In summary, Tagiru is basically a collection of all of Max worst traits times 1000. Max learned and grew throughout his adventure while Tagiru remained the same during his, Max might get annoyed over Zoe and Rex butting in his fight sometimes but Tagiru is rude enough to shout at Taiki and Yuu when they capture a Digimon instead of him, and while Max can get rather bored quickly and run into danger for some excitement, Tagiru hyperactive nature has landed him in trouble more times than I can count. I think you all see where I’m going with this.
Wiz: Now we can throw numbers and facts around all day to explain our reasoning for why Max and Chomp won but we admit we can see Tagiru and Gumdramon winning as well in certain situations. Arresterdramon SP would probably be able to break the DinoTector Armor given the right amount of time and Tagiru does have his moments of briliance. It’s just that 5.5 times out of 10 times we believe Max and Chomp would win while Tagiru and Gumdramon would win the remaining 4.5 times.
Boomstick: In the case of this Death Battle though, the relic of the past deleted the monster of the digital age.
Wiz: The winners are Max and Chomp.
