History[]
Origin[]
Relationship with Ramona[]
As told by Ramona herself, she met Matthew in the seventh grade when all of the school’s jocks had suddenly become interested in her. Since he was the only non-white non-jock at her school, she called for his help with his mystical powers to take them all out. They then dated and kissed only once, but their relationship was short lived after a week and a half when Ramona dumped Matthew due to his preadolescent capriciousness. At some point after moving far away during his high school years, Matthew turned evil, having taken the break-up very badly.
Then after some time, Matthew came across a huge drunken rant on Craigslist about Ramona, thus gaining his attention and lead him to join The League of Evil Exes.
Novels[]
Encounter with Scott[]
Once Scott had begun to get close to Ramona, Matthew had begun sending messages (i.e: an email and a letter) with warnings about the League coming after him, unfortunately for him though, Scott ignored both messages.
Then on the day of the Rockit Battle of the Bands, while Sex Bob-Omb were playing, Matthew makes his entrance and he and Scott fight. Of course, Scott is confused about the whole encounter, but after being explained by Matthew for a third time, a fight ensues between the two, and soon enough Ramona reveals the story how how she briefly dated then dumped Matthew, causing him to become furious and summoning his Demon Hipster Chicks to destroy Scott. However, Scott is aided by Wallace, Kim, Stephen, Stacey, Knives and Young Neil, in a musical styled battle.
Defeat[]
Both sides singing back and forth, Matthew and his Demon Hipster Chicks shoot fireballs at Scott and his friends. However, they’re able to conjure a protective Musical-like shield to defend themselves in a video game kind of defensive pose, thus able to deflect the fireballs. This gives Scott the chance to counter by saying his own song about Friendship, courage and whatever. Of course, Matthew claimed that the song didn’t even rhyme, but Scott didn’t care, somehow stunning Matthew long enough for him to land a single flying punch on Matthew, causing him to explode into coins, leaving behind $2.10 in Canadian currency, though not enough for the subway home as Scott points out.
In every adaptation, Matthew respawns back at his home once defeated, thus learning his lesson in the process.
