Description[]
Super Smash Bros. vs Pokemon! These two giant hands of Nintendo have created worlds of intense and epic battles, but this time they're both in a battle they didn't make. Will the Creator of Smash or the Source of Dynamax reign supreme?

Interlude[]
Wiz: The power to create. The power to destroy. These incredible abilities may be polar opposites, but they both reside in mankind's greatest gift: their hands.
Boomstick: And the bigger the hands, the more power you have.
Wiz: Boomstick, that's not how that wor-
Boomstick: Like Master Hand, a dissembodied super glove and final boss of the Smash Bros universe.
Wiz: And Eternatus, the Gigantic Pokemon and source of the Dynamax phenomenon.
Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.
Master Hand[]
Wiz: The World of Trophies, a vast land full of sentient trophies-versions of gaming most iconic characters. Their sole purpose is to duke it out with each other in a chaotic spectacle you may know as Super Smash Bros.
Boomstick: Now that’s the kind of Toy Story I can get into, but without the Disney magic how did these trophies come to life? In fact, how did this world come to be in the first place?
Wiz: That might be the biggest question for most universes, but in this universe’s case, there may be an answer. Everything in the World of Trophies has an inexplicable connection to a powerful entity in the shape of a single white glove: the Master Hand.
Boomstick: I’ve got to “hand” it to the guy. Without a full body, he still has the powers of a god.
Hand Pun Counter: 1
Wiz: The origins of Master Hand are shrouded in mystery. According to the only known records, Master Hand is linked to a world beyond and acts as the source of creation for the World of Trophies. With his incredible powers, he was able to bring the trophies to life and forge floating stadiums for them to do battle.
Boomstick: And all it took was a simple countdown and a snap of his fingers, but despite the many times he’s done this nobody has figured out why. His motives aren’t exactly clear, but one thing is certain, this hand loves to battle and eager to face the toughest trophies he’s brought to life.
Wiz: The fighters who have overcome many challenges eventually face the Master Hand in his own personal arena Final Destination.
Boomstick: Home of Fox mains and Melee players.
Wiz: And when big boss appears, he means business. Master Hand’s power of creation holds equally destructive potential. Though he prefers to keep his power hidden, when in battle he unleashes his full potential that “borders on absolute” implying that he might have unlimited potential.
Boomstick: And he’s got a lengthy moveset to back it up. Naturally as a giant hand, he’s a master of “hand-to-hand” combat.
Hand Pun Counter: 2
Boomstick: From massive slaps like the Big Swipe, the powerful flicks of Finger Walk, to the Tri-poke adding a touch of death, Master Hand has no trouble knocking enemies offstage. Oh, and he’s got a literal sleeper hold or Sleeper Grab in his case.
Wiz: But that only scratches the surface of Master Hand’s power. By snapping his fingers, Master Hand can stun foes or teleport himself. Using the Finger Drill, he buries enemies alive, and with Jetstream he takes a plane-like form to tackle everything in sight.
Boomstick: That looks nothing like a plane.
Wiz: Just roll with it. Of course to truly understand Master Hand’s prowess we must address his power of creation allowing him to manipulate the elements and create a very leathal arsenal.
Boomstick: Like my favorite attack the Finger Bullet which fires real bullets from a fake handgun. If I knew how to do that, I never would have traded my leg for a shotgun.
Wiz: Are you serious?
Boomstick: Hell no! The shotgun is way better.
Wiz: Right… Well Master Hand can also charge up electricity in his Power Punch, blast gusts of ice with Icy Wind, fire lightspeed Laser Nails with mirrors to deflect them off of-
Boomstick: Or if he wants to get hard, he’ll grab some balls-
Wiz: WAIT WHAT!?
Boomstick: Of fire, plasma, and metal to launch at his opponents. Wait, what did you think I was going to say?
Wiz: Uh… nothing.
Boomstick: Ok then… Master Hand even got a ball of Inkling Ink though this ink isn’t the same as the kind in Splatoon. Anything hit by this ink will have their defenses lowered leaving them more susceptible to damage albeit for a limited time.
Wiz: Speaking of balls, the appropriate kind, there is one ball in particular called the Master Core who appears to be the literal “core” of Master Hand himself. If Master Hand were to suffer more damage than his body can handle, the Master Core will be unleashed using a black substance called Swarm to manifest new, more powerful forms.
Boomstick: These forms include the Master Giant who has repelling screams and explosive head pimples, a set of fast paced swords called the Master Edges, Master Beast who is a spike summoning hell monster, and the Master Shadow form is a king sized copy of it’s opponent, because if you can’t beat them join them.
Wiz: But the most powerful form of all is the enormous Master Fortress.
Boomstick: Aw why’d you have to bring that up, I can never beat that thing.
Wiz: As Master Fortress, Master Hand essentially becomes the battlefield itself, creating endless amounts of laser-firing and sword-swinging enemies to fight in his place. So long as it’s four cores remain intact, the Master Fortress is basically unstoppable.
Boomstick: Yeah, but it’s too bad that once Master Hand runs out of forms he’s reduced to that useless core, unable to do anything as he gets beaten down worse than the Sandbag. It’s “hands” down a sad way to go out.
Hand Pun Counter: 3
Wiz: Still, Master Hand has proved time and time again why he’s the ultimate opponent. He’s fought evenly with countless trophies in the Final Destination each of which have shown incredible potential. These fighters are able to dodge the Laser Nail and attacks from Galeem, a being that controls light itself. In order to keep up with Galeem in combat, the trophies must be capable of relativistic reaction speeds.
Boomstick: Speaking of Ol’ Gally, when he and his rival Dharkon were waging war with each other, Master Hand decided to intervene by destroying both their armies in one go. And do you know how he got into that battle? By teaming up with his own rival Crazy Hand to punch a hole in the space-time continuum that’s how! It’s a miracle that anyone can match the Master Hand’s power especially since some of the challengers hardly fight at all. I’m looking at you d*** rod-swinging dog. What kind of steroids have you been taking outside your office hours?
Wiz: Don’t get the wrong idea. The trophies of Smash Bros. aren’t the same as their official counterparts, thus they aren’t capable of the same feats such as Mario launching a castle or Joker slaying a god. However, Master Hand has held his own against a canonical version of his own trophy: the pink puffball Kirby.
Boomstick: Oh yeah, the eight-inch monster who can punch a planet to death. Said planet was roughly the same size of Earth and while I’m not the biggest fan of numbers, even I’m impressed by 1.9 octillion tons of TNT it took to obliterate that space rock.
Wiz: Granted Kirby likely wasn’t hitting Master Hand with planet-busting punches, but the fact that Master Hand could endure those hits in the first place is proof of his incredible tenacity.
Boomstick: He’ll keep fighting until every last inch of his life is beaten out of him, plus he becomes craftier and more aggressive as the fight goes on. Just powering through the pain until he comes out on top. This guy might just go down in history as the ultimate masochist.
Wiz: That may hold true, especially since his battle record is rather flawed. Aside from defeating Galeem’s and Dharkon’s armies Master Hand doesn't have any notable wins and has consistently lost to his own trophies, and despite being his universe's source of creation, he’s been overpowered by universal threats twice.
Boomstick: The first time was being turned into a literal hand puppet, and the other time was when he was captured by Galeem to make a trophy-killing clone army. Considering how easily Master Hand gets beaten, he could really use a “hand” every now and then.
Hand Pun Counter: 4
Wiz: Fortunately the trophies have managed to stop these threats when Master Hand couldn’t. Their combat prowess has helped them beat impossible odds, and perhaps this is why Master Hand is so eager to fight them. Amazed by the feats of his creations, Master Hand acknowledges them as equals and finds joy in facing a worthy opponent. He values his creations so much that he will even fight alongside them against gods to keep the trophies and their world safe from evil.
Boomstick: Oh who cares about saving the world, when this white glove enters the ring the only thing you expect is a serious a**-whooping.
One of the fighters stands alone in the Final Destination as intense music starts to play. Suddenly Master Hand swoops down from above to take on his opponent.
Master Hand: Bwa-hah-hah-hah-hah!
Eternatus[]
Wiz: Since the beginning, humans have lived alongside strange, colorful creatures called Pokemon. Most people work alongside Pokemon to study them or complete everyday tasks, but for those who wish to be the very best, they take up the title of Pokemon Trainer and fight alongside their partners to prove their strength.
Boomstick: These fights are so epic that the public turned it into a worldwide sport. People will come far and wide to watch these battles, especially in the Galar region where the Pokemon come in supersize.
Wiz: This is the Dynamax phenomenon, in which Pokemon harness the Galar region’s energy to drastically increase their size and power. Not only that, but Dynamax Energy is also responsible for powering all technology in the Galar region. However, little is known about this revolutionary energy source and even less about it’s origins, that is until the discovery of an ancient dragon hidden deep within Galar. This is the Gigantic Pokemon Eternatus.
Boomstick: If the whole glowing snake skeleton look doesn't give it away, Eternatus isn’t the run of the mill Rattata or Pidgey, if fact he’s not even from this world. Eternatus was born from a meteor that crash landed in Galar 20,000 years ago meaning this Pokemon is an “alien dragon”. D*mn, those are two scary words I never expected to hear together.
Wiz: Eternatus sustains itself by absorbing energy from the area around it, but it was only a matter of time before his hunger grew insatiable. Eventually that time came 3,000 years ago when Eternatus attempted to keep himself alive by absorbing all the energy in Galar causing him to go berserk and bring forth a disaster called the Darkest Day.
Boomstick: It wasn’t that bad… aside from an ominous storm blocking out the sun and turning all the Pokemon into rampaging kaijus. The Darkest Day almost brought an end to Galar until the legendary Pokemon Zacian and Zamazenta stepped in to tear Eternatus a new one.
Wiz: The two Warrior Pokemon stopped the Darkest Day, but Eternatus’s defeat changed the region forever. The Dynamax Energy contained within the dragon was unleashed and spread throughout Galar. Humans quickly learned to harness this energy, and as a result Dynamax became a part of everyday life.
Boomstick: That kind of makes Eternatus the Ben Franklin of Pokemon. Too bad he didn’t get to celebrate it as the fight with the legendary dogos put him into an endless coma and people pretty much forgot he exsisted. Fortunately for Eternatus, his power nap would come to an end when he was discovered by Chairman Rose, president of the Macro Cosmos, yet another Walmart that controls everything though they are slightly less evil.
Wiz: Worried about an energy crisis that would happen long after he was dead, Rose deemed that the only way to save Galar was to awaken Eternatus and recreate the energy of the Darkest Day. By feeding the dragon Wishing Stars that were once part of his body, Rose successfully awoke Eternatus, but was unable to control him, thus Eternatus was unleashed upon the world once again.
Boomstick: Yeah, Rose was clearly losing his job after that stupid plan. Even I know better than to provoke any murderous dragon, especially this one. At over 65 feet tall, Eternatus is the largest Pokemon in existence more than earning its name as the Gigantic Pokemon. His mere presence strikes fear into humans and Pokemon alike and can even cause electrical interferences.
Wiz: Eternatus is more or less a living battery thanks to the energy core in his chest. According to the Pokedex, this core produces an infinite supply of energy, meaning that Eternatus possesses unlimited potential, perfect for powering his versatile arsenal.
Boomstick: He takes pride in his Dragon-typing with an energy blast called Dragon Pulse, the Dragon Tail which launches enemies far away, and a Dragon Dance that summons up an energy storm to boost speed and power. And like any good dragon, Eternatus can breathe fire thanks to Flamethrower or amp up the power by firing the best-named-move-ever Hyper Beam.
Wiz: Of course Eternatus doesn’t solely rely on it’s dragonic capabilities. He is also a Poison-type allowing him to strike with lethal chemicals through his Poison Tail, his claws via Cross Poison, or inject poison directly using the Toxic attack.
Boomstick: Like the FPS players who complain about lagging?
Wiz: No, I’m talking about a literal Toxic substance that upon infecting the victim will rapidly grow in power until the infected is inevitably killed. Eternatus can even take advantage of this by using his Venoshock technique which doubles in power upon hitting poisoned victims.
Boomstick: Talk about brutal, and that’s without all those defensive moves backing him up. Like the Cosmic Power absorbing space magic to increase defenses, the Confuse Ray creating a flash of light to... err... confuse things, and Recover which… well… recovers lost health. Game Freak was really straightforward on naming some of these moves weren’t they?
Wiz: And if Eternatus wants to go all out, it charges up energy from his core to fire his signature Dynamax Cannon. This attack envelopes everything in front of Eternatus in a powerful energy beam including the gargantuan Dynamax Pokemon.
Boomstick: It doesn't matter who you are, this attack is going to leave more than a mark. This dragon has pretty much everything to take you down, but apparently that’s not enough for him. Fortunately Eternatus has a massive reserve of Dynamax just waiting for him.
Wiz: Should the need arise, Eternatus can absorb energy from the Galar region to boost his power and achieve his own form of Dynamax called Eternamax.
Boomstick: Here we go, it’s the return of the hand puns! Let’s hope you can “hand”-le it.
Hand Pun Counter: 5
Wiz: Are you ever going to stop making those hand puns?
Boomstick: Wiz, when we agreed to do this episode, you should have compre”hand”ed-
Hand Pun Counter: 6
Boomstick: the amount of hand puns I would have to make. Though admittedly this has gotten out of “hand.”
Hand Pun Counter: 7
Wiz: (*sighs*) Well, Eternamax is Eternatus’ true form. The same one from those many years ago when he caused the Darkest Day. In this form, his power and defense increases drastically and his mere presence warps the fabric of space-time itself.
Boomstick: Not to mention that his raw power prevents all weaker enemies from attacking, leaving Eternatus untouchable. The only way to fight the god hand is to rival it in power, something only Zacian and Zamazenta managed to pull off.
Wiz: And thanks to Eternamax, Eternatus can turn his attacks into Max Moves, much stronger variants of his original moves that alter the course of battle. His Max Flare launches a giant fireball that intensifies sunlight, the Max Strike creates an energy geyser that slows down opponents, and he can lower enemy power with Max Wrymwind while increasing his own with Max Oozee.
Boomstick: D*mn, all these stat-altering moves are guaranteed to give Eternatus the upper “hand”.
Hand Pun Counter: 8
Boomstick: And for the finishing touch, Eternatus can go all out with the Eternabeam which fires a bunch of super death lasers, but he’ll need time to recharge afterwards. But drawbacks like that mean nothing when you’re the most being in the Galar region and possibly the whole world.
Wiz: Eternatus is fast, powerful, and seemingly unbeatable in one-on-one combat. Even the Galar Champion Leon, who had never lost a battle in his life, couldn’t stop Eternatus with his entire team. He’s taken hits from Zacian who can one-shot Dynamax Pokemon and damaged Zamazenta whose shield can block virtually anything.
Boomstick: Those two legendaries aren't just powerful, they were fast enough to zoom across the massive Wild Area in mere seconds and Eternatus can keep up with that kind of speed. Also remember how all those Pokemon use Dynamax to go super size, well they're only drawing from a fraction of Eternatus’ power. Dynamaxed Pokemon are impressive fighters capable of curing their own ailments, nullifying special abilities, and are completely immune to being stunned. Some of these Dynamaxed Pokemon like Blastoise and Dreadnaw are strong enough to destroy mountains.
Wiz: And all this energy came from the Darkest Day, a phenomenon Eternatus can cause while in his weaker form. In fact, the energy output of the Darkest Day is unbelievable. During the events of Pokemon Sword and Shield, Rose estimated that the remaining Dynamax energy would last about 1,000 years. While we don’t know how much energy is consumed in Galar, it is based on the United Kingdom which consumes about 309 billion Kilowatt-hours per year. Assuming a similar energy consumption rate for Galar and accounting for the 1,000 years, the reserve Dynamax Energy should be equivalent to over 1.1 sextillion Joules of energy.
Boomstick: That’s over 5000 times more energy than the Tsar Bomba, the most powerful nuclear bomb ever made, and that’s not even close to Eternatus’ full power. Dynamax energy was already being consumed for thousands of years, and it’s unlikely that Rose accounted for the wild Pokemon that use Dynamax too. With all that power at his claw-like fingertips, Eternatus could have easily destroyed the whole world.
Wiz: And he almost did. In his second rampage, Eternatus was almost impossible to take down. It took the combined effort of Zacian, Zamazenta, and two skilled Trainers to once again stop the Darkest Day and capture the dragon with a Pokeball. Now under the guidance of a kind-hearted trainer, Eternatus could finally see the beauty of the world and perhaps learn to live in peace with it.
Boomstick: Entrusting an eleven-year old with a country’s power source that could go berserk at any moment? (*starts speaking sarcastically*) That sounds perfectly safe and could have no consequences whatsoever.
Wiz: Of course, Eternatus’s losses prove that he isn’t invincible. Despite being able to produce infinite energy, Eternatus is susceptible to overload. In addition, his Poison-typing makes him weak against psychic or ground based attacks while his Dragon-typing leaves him vulnerable to cold attacks such as ice.
Boomstick: Aww, a little chill is too much for the big scary dragon. Well too bad. Still, Eternatus is one of the strongest Pokemon in exsistance, and may God have mercy on whatever poor sucker has to face him.
Eternatus breaks free from a Pokeball causing a massive flash of light. Once the light faded, the protagonist looked up in shock to see a now free Eternatus preparing to attack.
Eternatus: *Roars*
DEATH BATTLE![]
In a dark void sits a flat glowing platform known as the Final Destination. It is where the entity known as Master Hand resides and fights all who arrive in his domain. Sensing the presence of a new challenger, Master Hand emerges from the distance and prepares for battle.
Master Hand: Bwa-hah-hah-hah-hah!
Upon arriving at the Final Destination, Master Hand is surprised to see nobody on stage and starts looking around for his opponent. He is almost convinced it was a false alarm until a round object flies over his head, catching the hand’s attention. The object lands onto the Final Destination revealing itself to be a Master Ball as it opens up and gives off a huge flash of light. When the light disappeared, a massive dragon appeared towering over Master Hand. It was the Gigantic Pokemon Eternatus.
Eternatus looked down at Master Hand and immediately recognized him as an enemy before preparing to attack.
Eternatus: *Roars*
Despite the purple monster being too big for Smash, Master Hand accepted the challenge and pointed at Eternatus as a means of telling him “you’re going down”.
FIGHT!
Eternatus started off by firing a purple laser called Dragon Pulse. In response, Master Hand shapes himself like a gun and fires three powerful bullets. The first bullet enters a power struggle with Dragon Pulse, the second bullet hits and nullifies both attacks, and the third bullet hits Eternatus directly, briefly stunning him. The dragon is given little time to rest as Master Hand takes the form of a plane and rams into Eternatus multiple times while flying around the void.
The dragon couldn’t figure out how to hit his agile opponent, but suddenly gets an idea and uses Cosmic Power. The move causes a burst of stars to form around Eternatus and they boost his defenses. Master Hand attempts to ram into Eternatus again, this time going for the head, but upon contact he is completely stopped as Eternatus did not suffer any damage. Taking advantage of the situation, Eternatus uses Dragon Tail to smack Master Hand away then charges up his claws with poison as he continuously slashes his opponent.
Master Hand eventually dodges one of the slashes and gets back far enough to use his Icy Wind attack. He flaps himself up and down, creating a strong gust accompanied by a series of ice projectiles. The attack pushes Eternatus backwards as he struggles against the wind. The ice projectiles also hit, dealing super-effective damage to the Dragon-type and pushing him back even further. Desperate to fight back, Eternatus fires his Flamethrower which burns through the ice and envelops Master Hand with his fire.
This did little to Master Hand as he powered through the pain and charged through Flamethrower to deliver a powerful punch to Eternatus’ jaw. He followed up the attack by grabbing the dragon by the tail and throwing him into the Final Destination, and then walked across the stage with his middle and index fingers before sending Eternatus flying with a powerful kick flick.
Eternatus got up and fired some more Dragon Pulses, but Master Hand easily managed to dodge them. However, Eternatus soon got a lock on the giant hand and used his Toxic attack. This caused a purple oozee to emerge from the Dragon and hit Master Hand directly causing his body to turn purple and emit nasty-looking bubbles. Master Hand was so stunned by the poison that he didn’t notice his opponent firing another purple oozee, this time being Venoshock, which hit with incredible force as Master Hand felt the poison in his body deal him even more damage.
This greatly angered Master Hand, who immediately spun his body like a drill and charged forward. Eternatus tried to stop him with more Venoschocks, but they simply bounced off the hand as it drew near. Once Master Hand made contact, Eternatus tried to push against him only to be overwhelmed causing the dragon to fall backwards. Master Hand saw the opportunity and pulled a Homer by grabbing the dragon by the neck and strangling him for a while then slamming him down into the Final Destination. The Smash boss got up immediately to continue his assault starting with a few handgun blasts, followed by a series of lasers from his fingers, and finally generating a big green ball of energy and throwing it into the air before flying over it and smacking the ball into Eternatus. The last attack caused a massive explosion which made the Final Destination start to crack as its surface became covered in smoke.
With his opponent seemingly dead, Master Hand looked toward the Final Destination and gave his opponent “the finger”. His satisfyingly moment was immediately interrupted as the whole place began to shake and red sparks started emitting from the smoke. Suddenly, a huge explosion came out from the smoke and Eternatus emerged rocketing toward the sky. The dragon continued flying until he was out of his opponent’s sight and created another huge explosion that filled the sky with ominous black clouds. Looking up, Master Hand was shocked by the storm, but even more so by a mysterious figure flying down from its center. The figure was a large, monstrous hand with a serpent-like body. It was covered in purple scales, but the parts that were exposed revealed a light-red energy coursing through its body. Once it finished emerging, it stared at Master Hand and gave out a roar.
Eternamax Eternatus: *ROARS*
Master Hand recognized the cry and realized his opponent had taken a new, more powerful form. Undaunted, he curled himself into a fist and flew towards the other hand at full speed, while Eternatus proceeded to do the same. The two collided, creating a massive red explosion that enveloped the entire void. It was such an intense burst of energy that if there were other people there to witness it, they would all think the same thing:
The real battle begins now!
The two hands are pushed back from their collision, but don’t stop fighting. They continue colliding into each other for a while with repeated punches that send shockwaves throughout the void. Both of them then stop for a second and tighten their fists for an ultimate attack before charging at each other again. However, before they collided Master Hand and Eternatus stopped and shook their fists in “Rock Paper Scissors” fashion. The two stopped shaking and showed their hands. Master Hand shaped himself like scissors while Eternatus had a paper like shape. Upon winning their duel, Master Hand let out a big laugh.
Master Hand: Bwa-hah-hah-hah-hah!
His victory was short lived as he failed to notice The Gigantic Pokemon becoming infuriated. Eternatus then slashed Master Hand, sending him flying several feet back, and followed it up by blasting the white glove with a poisonous geyser called Max Ooze. Master Hand was hit directly, but still managed to make a quick recovery. The Smash boss then created a massive fireball in his palm and launched it toward Eternatus only for the monstrous hand to create his own fireball in response. As the two fireballs made contact, they created a massive explosion that covered the battlefield in a bright light. Eternatus was blinded by the blast, and Master Hand took the opportunity to fly towards his opponent and get close. When Eternatus came to, he noticed Master Hand was right in front of him and the white glove knocked him around with a series of slaps and punches.
Eternatus started to become exhausted and tried to use Recover. Small yellow orbs appeared and entered Eternatus’ body, healing him in the process. Master Hand tried to stop this by getting close and snapping his fingers, but little did he realize Dynamax Pokemon, Eternatus included, cannot be stunned. Eternatus finished his recovery leaving Master Hand confused as to how he managed to pull it off. This left him vulnerable as Eternatus tackled him then used Max Wyrmwind to create a massive tornado. As it enveloped Master Hand, it tore his body apart turning the white pieces of the glove into black ashes. When the tornado dispersed, all that was left was a multicolored orb floating in the void: the Master Core.
Eternatus grabbed the core and attempted to crush it, but found it becoming increasingly difficult to do so. Little did he realize, the black ashes were coming back and moving into Eternatus’ hand through the cracks between his fingers. Once all the ashes had gathered, the Eternatus began to open his hand against his will. The cause was a black giant grabbing his fingers and pushing them back. The Master Giant, as the black figure was called, let out a scream that pushed Eternatus away allowing the Master Giant to recover.
The Master Giant then formed several large bumps on its head and headbutted Eternatus. The impact released several orbs that surrounded the Gigantic Pokemon and exploded. Even after dealing so much damage, the Master Giant was not done. He swung his arms around causing powerful shockwaves to continuously hit his opponent.
The shockwaves hit for a while until Eternatus managed to dodge one of them and charged at the Master Giant. The latter acted quickly and picked up the Final Destination to block the incoming attack. Though the giant thought he was safe, he began to notice a yellow glow at the bottom of the stadium. The glow grew in size until it exploded in his face causing the Final Destination to be blown to pieces. The Master Giant was dazed, allowing Eternatus to blast his opponent with a Dragon Pulse. Upon impact, the attack made the Master Giant dissipate, but it quickly reformed into the monster-like Master Beast.
The Master Beast jumped on the remaining chunks of the Final Destination as it continuously slashed and crunched the monstrous hand. Eternatus escaped by flying upwards and fired a Max Wrymwind which sucked up the remains of both the Final Destination and the Master Beast and destroyed them. Of course, Master Hand was not done yet and reformed his black pieces into the five swords known as the Master Edges then attempted to slash at Eternatus. However, the Gigantic Pokemon was ready this time and blocked the hits of the four smaller blades before parrying the bigger one and grabbing it by the handle. The smaller blades tried to fight back, but Eternatus swung the bigger blade like a skilled swordsman and held them back. He then pushed the small blades back and threw the bigger blade at them which skewered four-fifths of the Master Edges. The damage caused Master Hand to dissipate and reform into a hand again, but this time it was an exact replica of Eternamax Eternatus, if not bigger.
Now appearing as equals to each other, the two hands rammed into each other resulting in a stalemate as neither could overpower the other. They pushed each other back and fired Dragon Pulses at each other, only for them to cancel each other out. Master Hand and Eternatus continued using different moves: Flamethrower, Cross Poison, Venoshock, even Max Moves, but everytime the moves collided they were an even match. Eternatus then decided to up his game and created a power-boosting storm with Dragon Dance. Believing that his opponent was leaving himself vulnerable, Master Hand charged up a Hyper Beam and fired it at the monstrous hand. It was almost a direct hit, but Eternatus managed to dodge at the last second and counter with his own superpowered beam: Dynamax Cannon. The Gigantic Pokemon unleashed a massive red energy beam that enveloped his doppleganger, causing a massive black explosion that sent Master Hand’s black ashes everywhere.
Eternatus rested for a moment, believing it was finally over, but suddenly a laser hit him from behind and he saw a black flower aiming at him. He immediately swat it away, but was then struck by a knight-like figure. The monstrous hand swatted it away as well and it flew into a whole army of enemies. Eternatus was confused at first, but then took notice of how the void he was once in was now covered with the black ashes his opponent was made of. He was no longer in the Final Destination, he was in the Master Fortress.
The army charged at Eternatus who blasted them away with a Dynamax Cannon. This did not stop the assault as more enemies began to spawn from the ground of the Master Fortress. Eternatus did everything he could to fend them off, but was he running out of options. He then knocked one of the enemies into a glowing pink sphere within the fortress causing it to explode and make the whole fortress shake. The monstrous hand took notice and saw that right behind the pink sphere was the multicolored sphere that controlled everything, the Master Core.
Eternatus fired a Max Ooze to destroy the core, but it was intercepted by dozens of black-clad enemies who sacrificed themselves to protect the fortress. The Master Core started glowing and generated and fired two balls of what appeared to be cyan-colored ink. They hit Eternatus directly, covering his body and lowering his defenses allowing the Master Fortress army to finish the job. Plant and whisp-like enemies fired several energy projectiles to keep Eternatus down while bug and knight-like enemies tackled Eternatus and overwhelmed him.
Eventually, Eternatus was completely covered by the hordes of enemies and it seemed like he was finally done for. But out of nowhere, a red glow started shining through the enemies and they were blown away by a powerful gust. The cause was Eternatus unleashing his Dynamax energy to repel his attackers. He then used a Dynamax Cannon as he spun himself in a circle, destroying all the surrounding enemies, only for more of them to emerge from the Master Fortress. Knowing that he had to end this quickly, Eternatus took aim at the Master Core and charged up several energy beams that surrounded him along with a massive one from his palm. It was the Eternabeam.
The enemies tried to intercept the blow once again and managed to stop it for a while, but it proved too much for them as they were blown to pieces. The Eternabeam then hit the Master Core directly pushing further into the black ashes of the Master Fortress. As it was being pushed back, the Master Core started to crack then finally shattered. The result caused the entire Master Fortress to collapse leaving a huge cloud of smoke in its wake. When it finally dissipated, all that was left was Eternatus, exhausted and reduced to his dragonic form. It took a moment for the Gigantic Pokemon to recover, and upon realizing he had won, he let out a victory cry.
Eternatus: *Roars*
K.O!
At a somehow rebuilt Final Destination, Fox drops onto the stadium and wavedashes everywhere. He is then greeted by Eternamax Eternatus descending from the sky. The mere presence of the monstrous hand frightens Fox who stops wavedashing and immediately jumps off the stage.

Boomstick: Woah! That was intense! But wait, how could Master Hand lose this one?
Wiz: Honestly, this was one of the toughest Death Battles we ever had to do. Both Master Hand and Eternatus were incredibly tenacious and boasted unlimited potential. Granted, Master Hand was faster scaling to the relativistic reactions of the trophies he fought, and his Master Core forms made him more versatile than anyone Eternatus has ever faced. However, the Gigantic Pokemon had everything he needed to overwhelm the creator of Smash.
Boomstick: And that not just because he was a lot bigger, the dragon’s skillset had an answer for pretty much everything. Like how Master Hand’s Ink Blob temporarily lowered defenses while Eternatus’ Cosmic Power raised them permanently or how Eternatus’ Flamethrower could cancel out the super-effective Icy Wind attack.
Wiz: Plus thanks to the Eternamax powers, Eternatus could resist Master Hand’s sleep-inducing and stun attacks leaving the white glove’s tactical options almost useless, and though Master Hand was tougher, Eternatus could make up for it with Recover’s self-healing.
Boomstick: Sure Master Hand could take hits from Kirby, who can destroy frickin planets, but he could only last so long. Not to mention, he was far from Kirby’s toughest opponent so I doubt the pink puffball went all out against him. Even so, Eternatus’ Toxic attack can rapidly drain stamina regardless of durability. Once that hit, Master Hand had no chance of keeping up a prolonged fight. And I know what your about to say in the comments: “Surely Master Hand can just overpower Eternatus, he did a whole universe right?”
Popup: The best example of Master Hand’s creation ability is the N64 opening cutscene. However, Master Hand had to make a fighter using a toy and the stage out of the desk and the arranged objects on top of it. Using both objects as a sort-of template implies there are limits to his creation ability.
Wiz: Well there is a lot of speculation that Master Hand can create a universe, but that does not seem to be the case. Master Hand is identified as a “source of creation” he has never been directly credited with the Smash universe's creation. His losses show that he doesn't have the power to do so either.
Boomstick: Galeem can destroy and recreate whole universes, and Tabuu could use subspace to devour a whole planet, yet neither one of them had any trouble overpowering Master Hand. This does show that Master Hand has limits, but the problem we still can’t tell exactly how powerful Master Hand is.
Wiz: The same can be said for Eternatus whose 5000 nuke energy reserve was only a small fraction of his base form’s power. This brings us to the most difficult part of this fight: figuring out who was stronger.
Boomstick: Master Hand and Eternatus don’t have many measurable feats “on hand”-
Hand Pun Counter: 9
Boomstick: but there is one thing we can compare and that’s their ability to mess with the fabric of time and space.
Wiz: This is admittedly difficult to calculate, if not impossible, but both feats were accomplished through raw power alone so we can use that to figure out who could overpower the other. Master Hand did manage to break a hole in space-time, but he needed to utilize all his strength and required Crazy Hand’s power as well. In his Eternamax form, Eternatus could only distort space-time, but he managed to do so with his mere presence and seemingly didn’t put any effort into it. Given how much Eternatus could damage space-time without trying, his full potential should be devastating and likely enough to overpower the Master Hand.
Boomstick: There was a chance Master Hand was still stronger, but with power altering moves like Max Ooze and Max Wyrmwind, Eternatus was going to win the power struggle one way or another.
Wiz: Master Hand was a powerful entity and an iconic final boss, but he was simply no match for Eternatus’ more efficient moveset, better defenses, and clear advantage in raw power.
Boomstick: You could say Eternatus dominated this fight single-”hand”-edly
Hand Pun Counter: 10
Boomstick: Get it? Because he's a single hand. Ok, I think that’s enough hand puns. I need a vacation.
Wiz: The winner is Eternatus.
