Interlude[]
Wiz: Many individuals struggle to fit in with society throughout their lives because of their background, personality, or talents. These individuals can either grow bitter and resentful at their position in life, or they can use their talents for the greater good of humanity.
Boomstick: And despite not being human, that’s what these intangible, laser-shooting heroes do best, standing alongside humankind’s greatest champions in their defence of the Earth!
Wiz: J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter.
Boomstick: And Vision, the reformed android creation of Ultron. He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick!
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.
Martian Manhunter[]
Boomstick: Space. The Final Frontier. It’s just crazy with all the shit you can find out there in the universe. No matter what happens, one thing in comics remains consistent throughout. They’re weird. I hope they never change.
Wiz: While I’m sure we all know the story of young Kal-El being sent to Earth, he isn’t the only superhero who came from beyond the stars. There was another, only his journey to Earth was much, much closer. Though it wasn’t his choice, and he was in some unfortunate circumstances.
Boomstick: See, because we’re obsessed with Mars, a scientist named Dr. Saul Erdel developed transmitter tech for communication between worlds. When he sent a transmission to Mars, he ended up bringing a Green Martian to Earth. He was so shocked by the experience he died!
Wiz: Stranded on another planet with no way back home, J’onn J’onzz decided to turn this into an opportunity to help Earth’s people, just as he did on Mars. After meeting Earth’s other superheroes, J’onn revealed himself to the world and took the name, Martian Manhunter.
Popup: Martian Manhunter is a founding member of the Justice League of America, He’s been a member of almost every incarnation of the League since it was created in 1960! Only 5 years after his first appearance.
Boomstick: And turns out he was pretty fit for the job, cause he’s got the power to do a lot of stuff. Most famous of them all is his ability to shapeshift into other people! With it, he can take on any form he likes, even other superheroes, like Aquaman!
Wiz: During his time on Earth, when he wasn’t doing the superhero work, J’onn was a detective named “John Jones”, and his ability to look human let him blend into normal society, which is another similarity he has with the Man of Steel, only J’onn makes his look far more convincing.
Boomstick: Hey, Superman at least looks human, imagine being a goddamn green alien from Mars! Although the comparisons to Superman don’t end there. Martian Manhunter possesses most of your standard alien powers including flight, superhuman strength, speed, durability, and being able to shoot lasers from his eyes!
Wiz: His eyes possess different types of vision. Electromagnetic spectrum vision Microscopic, X-ray, and Night vision just to name a few, it's safe to say that no matter what happens, Martian Manhunter will see the truth of any situation.
Popup: He also possesses Heat Vision. It managed to match Superman’s Heat Vision. Martian Manhunter has even shown he can withstand getting hit by it.
Boomstick: Wiz, puns are my job. Anyway, Martian Manhunter has another big ability. Phasing! With it, he can change his density, whether that means being able to walk through walls, or being denser than the toughest materials on Earth. He’s used his phasing to battle against some pretty powerful beings, like Superboy-Prime!
Wiz: Though without question, Martian Manhunter’s most powerful ability is his telepathy. He has consistently shown he can read the minds of others, including other telepaths, and protect other’s minds from being dominated. Even beings like Spectre, no mind is safe from the Martian of Mars.
Boomstick: He’s also really elastic. He can stretch his entire body however he wants. Maybe he should’ve changed his name to Superhand! Imagine getting high fived by him! On top of that, he can increase his size, letting him crush his foes under sheer weight. And if he does get hurt, he can regenerate, so taking him down is gonna be tough.
Wiz: To complement his use of telepathy, he has other mind-based powers, like telekinesis. It’s not something he uses too often, but still worth mentioning. With all these powers, whether he was on Earth or Mars, or anywhere in the universe, Martian Manhunter is a force of good.
Popup: Martian Manhunter, Superman and Wonder Woman worked together to lift the Earth, it's implied J’onn was struggling the least. Since it takes the force of one-thousandth of an object’s mass to move it out of orbit, being ⅓ means J’onn can lift 2.2 quintillion tons!
Boomstick: He’s got a ridiculous amount of feats. He’s battled some of the most powerful beings in the DC Universe, like Doomsday, Superboy-Prime, Black Adam, and the Man of Steel himself. Being comparable to Superman means he’d be able to destroy planets. And odds are he could match Superman surviving fifteen suns exploding in his face!
Wiz: Martian Manhunter, on his own, has battled the entire Justice League. His mental powers have allowed him to dominate the mind of Spectre, and fight adversaries such as Superboy-Prime. He even managed to unravel the twisted mind of the Joker and turned him sane, temporarily. Martian Manhunter has regenerated from some incredible things, such as a green puddle, a single arm, and even decapitation.
Boomstick: Heck, this dude mindwiped the entire Justice League, including those who can protect their heads, like Superman, and Green Lantern! He can fly interstellar distances, and keep up with Supes and Wonder Woman, and both of them have faster than light feats, such as Wondy defeating Professor Zoom.
Wiz: However, Martian Manhunter is far from invincible, similar to Superman, he also has a weakness, however, it isn’t quite like the Man of Steel’s weakness to Kryptonite. So, it’s widely believed Martian Manhunter is weak to fire.
Popup: Originally, Martian Manhunter did have a weakness to Fire, however, Post-Crisis has shown it’s a psychological weakness that J’onn has since overcome. His most impressive regeneration feat, from a green puddle, was achieved despite being surrounded by fire.
Boomstick: But that’s been toned down over the reboots. One time, Batman devised a brilliant strategy, and he was on fire for EIGHT hours! You think that would’ve killed him, but nope! He survived the whole thing!
Wiz: Although his biggest weakness has ultimately been worn down, he has suffered a great deal of loss, such as the loss of nearly his entire race. Even his wife and child. And one time he had his cookies stolen by Booster Gold.
Boomstick: But despite all that, Martian Manhunter has proven he’s one of the world’s greatest defenders, and he’s a pretty chill guy too. I’d say Martian Manhunter has more than earned his reputation as one of the greatest superheroes of all time.
Wiz: Even with all this immense power, J’onn has shown he’s one of the wisest and intelligent superheroes. No matter what may happen, until the bitter end, Martian Manhunter will battle to protect the Earth so that it doesn’t end up suffering the same fate as his beloved home.
Martian Manhunter: But I am called the Martian Manhunter, Mars’ sole survivor. There is a reason for that.
Vision[]
Credit for the info on Vision goes to BangJang96.
Wiz: Decades ago, the talented scientist Hank Pym created the intelligent robotic being Ultron whilst working alongside the Avengers as the original Ant-Man.
Boomstick: But...Ultron went down the path of most smart robotic beings and turned evil. He then tried to take over the world and got his metal ass handed to him by the Avengers.
Wiz: Knowing he couldn’t defeat the superhero team alone, Ultron kidnapped Professor Phineas Horton, creator of the Human Torch...
(Boomstick interrupts)
Boomstick: Wait, the loudmouth of the Fantastic Four was actually an android?! Bravo, Marvel! That’s an amazing plot twist!
Wiz: No Boomstick, Horton didn’t create Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four, he created the original Human Torch, an android that fought alongside Captain America and Namor in World War 2 against the Nazis. Anyways, with Horton’s help, Ultron created a new android that would help him defeat the Avengers once and for all. Its name was the Vision!
Boomstick: Soon after the Vision’s creation, Ultron discovered that Horton had implanted the memories of the heroic Human Torch android into it, meaning that he wouldn’t be the ruthless and obedient servant that Ultron sought to create, which sadly resulted in him bumping off the Professor.
Wiz: Horton’s death was not in vain, however, as the Vision eventually turned against Ultron and joined the Avengers, vowing to defend the Earth against the evil robot and any other malicious beings.
Boomstick: Vision being a superhero meant he was able to hook up with Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch. Considering that Vision was an android, Wanda must have been pretty kinky when deciding to be with him, but then again, since she’s a mutant with magical hex powers, you can’t expect her to be interested in normal guys!
Wiz: Boomstick, it’s not that weird for an android and a human to hook up. Take Android 18 and Krillin from Dragon Ball as an example.
Boomstick: But 18 looks like a normal person! I don’t know about you, Wiz, but I don’t exactly call a guy with a red face, a green cape and a yellow and green body normal!
Wiz rolls his eyes and simply continues with Vision’s analysis.
Wiz: Vision’s body is made up of thousands of individual nanobots, meaning he can disassemble himself into these individual nanobots to fit through extremely tight spaces and then reassemble himself once he’s squeezed through said spaces. He also does not need to sleep, does not age, and has a vast store of information that he can access to aid him in battle.
Boomstick: Vision’s body also greatly increases his physical abilities. He’s strong enough to hurt Ultron, slam into a weakened Thor, level several floors of a large building, one-shot Nova, go head to head with Silver Surfer and toss away debris weighing millions of tons.
Wiz: He’s quick enough to keep up with Ultron and Thor who can move faster than the speed of light, phase out of the way of Mjolnir and dodge a missile with ease. He’s durable enough to tank blasts from Ultron, be unharmed by a crashing helicopter and lightning, withstand the heat of atmospheric reentry, was able to take hits from multiple versions of the Hulk simultaneously and took a blast from the Phoenix Force, which can manipulate reality.
Boomstick: With physical stats like that, I’m starting to see why Scarlet Witch fell for him!
Wiz: Vision’s optical scanners allow him to scan opponents and the energies that they emit, including their emotions, whilst his audio receptors enable him to detect the faintest of sounds. He can also turn himself invisible using holographic manipulation. However, his most famous ability of all is his density shifting.
Boomstick: When he’s at a minimum mass, he can fly through the air weightlessly, however, he can also increase his mass to the point where he’s harder than diamond and can take a real beating, or sink a ship by simply standing on it. Damn, and I thought my ex-wife was heavy!
Wiz: Vision’s density shifting can allow him to phase through solid objects and people. In combat, he can use it to make both physical and energy attacks pass through him and partially materialize his arms and fists within an opponent’s body, causing them unimaginable pain. He’s managed to use this ability to defeat the likes of Captain America, Namor, Hank Pym, Hyperion, Hercules, and several versions of the Hulk.
Boomstick: Being a mechanical being, Vision has to have a power source, the yellow gem on his forehead, it can absorb solar energy as well as excess energy from other beings to power him up. However, the gem also helps Vision kick villain ass, as it can fire a hot laser beam at opponents capable of one-shotting Iron Man, melting firearms, blinding Thor, and even cooking crabs. Mhmm, I love some good seafood!
Wiz: Vision is also highly immune to mental attacks and due to being an android, can hack and control different types of technology to aid him in battle. He’s even been able to hack into Ultron’s systems, who can take control over the technology of highly advanced alien races with ease.
Boomstick: If he’s damaged, Vision can always regenerate his body, even if he’s disintegrated, as long as his body is functioning properly. He can also shapeshift into objects such as planes and create clones of himself to help him overpower his opponents.
Wiz: Vision is easily one of Marvel’s strongest heroes and a proud member of the Avengers. He’s fought Ultron on multiple occasions, helped the Avengers fight off Ronan the Accuser and his Kree army, defeated his evil counterpart, the Anti-Vision, aided Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in defeating the High Evolutionary and fought against the combined efforts of Beast, Black Panther, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Captain America during the Civil War event.
Boomstick: But...he can be somewhat of a glass cannon. His density control can be extremely risky, his muscles can become really painful to move if he shifts his density around too much and he can become immobilized if he makes himself too dense. Also, despite his mental defences, he is still vulnerable to extremely powerful telepaths, and has been killed multiple times.
Wiz: However, with his amazing intelligence and impressive abilities, Vision will do whatever it takes to defend the planet from the likes of Ultron and any other villains who may threaten it.
Vision: Humans are odd. They think order and chaos are somehow opposites and... try to control what won't be. But there is grace in their failings. I think you missed that.
DEATH BATTLE![]
Planet Earth, a haven to heroes and villains alike. And protecting it is one of the highest honours a superhero can receive. However, not all heroes need to be on the planet to protect it. To expand their territory and anticipate invasion and extraterrestrial threats, a space station was constructed and orbited the Earth at all times, it operated as a headquarters for Earth's superheroes, both those who defended Earth and those protecting the universe at large.
The Watchtower, the name given to this space station, was used efficiently when it came to important matters. However, it didn't always have constant use by all its members, and sometimes its numbers were only a small handful, but that didn't hinder the potency of its members, sometimes all it took was just a single being, whether that be human, cyborg or alien.
Onboard, things were quiet, in the main meeting room of the headquarters, there was a single member seated. Though they appeared to be zoned out, seemingly unaware of the world around them. At a glance, it looked like meditation, or at the very least, some deep thought. This persisted for a while until a noise could be heard, the sound of something making contact with the table. "I don't even have to open my eyes to know you're here, Michael".
Opening his eyes, Maritan Manhunter easily noticed the presence of another hero, Booster Gold. "Hey, didn't wanna steal something I couldn't give back to you". Though it didn't take Martian Manhunter long before he accepted Booster Gold's humble offering. "Thank you, Michael". Martian Manhunter reached for and picked up a cookie, and consumed it. Booster Gold then headed for the exit, knowing he had played his part. Though as he approached, the door opened, and someone else was on the other side, Black Canary, who stepped into the meeting room.
"Having cookies again, J'onn?" Black Canary slightly chuckled. Martian Manhunter finished consuming the cookie he held in his hand before he stood up. "I was contemplating what to do since most of the League is away on missions of their own, Diana left just recently", Martian Manhunter looked around at the seats of his fellow Justice League members, again reminded they were all empty.
"Well, why not go on a break, I'm sure your detective work on the side wouldn't hurt". Black Canary commented. Booster Gold decided to insert himself back into the conversation, "Don't forget, if you need someone to put in a good word for you, Booster Gold International would be more than happy to spread the word".
Inspired by his allies' words, Martian Manhunter decided he would go and make use of the time he had. He departed the Watchtower, and flew down to Earth, and decided he would once again take up his human identity, and investigate the activity of interest to him. The next day, John Jones' work began. It all started with a bunch of different reports occurring on a more grounded level compared to the extraterrestrial activity Martian Manhunter once experienced.
He then comes across a file with a title that catches his attention, it had to do with some kind of experimental teleportation the night before, and it was in this very city, as John Jones continued reading, he became more and more intrigued by the report, and wanted to investigate. Wasting no time at all, John Jones travelled across the city to where the report first indicated the activity. By afternoon, John Jones had arrived at the site.
Once he did, his investigation began, but very quickly things became difficult to piece together, it seemed like whatever happened, it was over very quickly, and as though nothing had happened to begin with. Without question, whatever did take place was handled in a very effective manner, as to not let a single trace be left behind. But John Jones refused to let this trail go cold. So he continued searching and concluded that if something did happen, odds are it's out there in the world.
Reminded of the day he was transported to Earth unsuspectedly, he figured if it was another Martian that had been sent to Earth, it could be hiding in an attempt to avoid suspicion. So, John Jones took his investigation into the bustling city itself, hopeful to find answers, or at the very least, someone who could point him in the right direction. Not long after, John Jones roamed the streets, looking around, seeing if he could locate a disguised Martian.
During his search, John Jones made use of his various types of vision, being able to see through everyone in the search for the right individual. Though he didn't have much luck, he just saw humans endlessly throughout the city. Didn't seem likely he'd find a Martian around here.
But then, his vision noticed an anomaly, someone who wasn't human. John Jones noticed this and course-corrected himself to meet with this individual. Though they tried their best to remain completely hidden among the humans, it couldn't get past Martian Manhunter.
"Excuse me, Victor Shade". This halted the man in his tracks at the mention of his name. "I am John Jones, I'm currently undergoing an investigation, and I require assistance if you'll come with me". Victor was hesitant but went along with John's request. The two men walked into an alleyway, where John began with his inquiry. "Recently, a teleportation event took place, and I'm looking for people who might know anything about it". Victor became a little hesitant.
But John didn't stop there. "And I believe you may have some information I'm looking for, "Victor". John cornered Victor. Unexpectedly, a beam fired from Victor's forehead, catching John off guard and knocking him into the brick wall behind him. Victor then shapeshifted, turning into a metallic humanoid, an android, the Vision. John looked and noticed this transformation. "I'm warning you now, I am something else, something you're not prepared for". John retorted by transforming back into Martian Manhunter.
FIGHT!
(Cue Battle Sirens - Knife Party & Tom Morello)
"A reasonable person would yield" Martian Manhunter remarked. Immediately Vision was caught off guard by the Martian's transformation. Which gave Martian Manhunter the chance to quickly approach Vision, grabbing him, restraining his movement. Vision struggled briefly but decided to draw his foe away from the alleyway. Vision flew into the skies, with Martian Manhunter still attached. Surprised that this being could fly, Martian Manhunter released Vision from his grasp. Vision charged the gem on his forehead, firing it toward his foe.
Retaliating immediately, Martian Manhunter's eyes flared red as he launched his heat vision, the two beams collided with Vision's beam, the two attacks stalemated each other before both decided to deactivate their attacks. With the two hovering above the city, its populace began to wonder what was going on. But while the two temporarily gave it their attention, they soon turned it back to each other. "Why are you here?" Martian Manhunter implored. "I am here because I was brought here, by forces I do not know". Vision responded. The two eased hostilities for a moment. "I know how it feels to ends up somewhere when it was entirely beyond your control, if you come with me, we could find a solution" Martian Manhunter offered.
While the Martian's offer was earnest, Vision was not convinced. "I cannot trust your words" Vision responded. Vision charged energy into his solar gem and fired the beam toward Martian Manhunter. Seeing the beam coming and able to anticipate it, Martian Manhunter countered by firing his heat vision, the two attacks collided again. Both persisted with their beam attacks. Using this situation to his advantage, Martian Manhunter flew toward Vision. When the two broke off their attacks, Vision was alarmed, and completely caught off guard.
With a clenched fist, Martian Manhunter landed a direct punch on Vision's head, launching him across the skies. Vision flew so fast it became completely incomprehensible to perceive his surroundings until he slowed down. After a few seconds, Vision finally slowed down, and quickly recognized his surroundings had changed, they were now beyond the city. The entire horizon was nothing by water. Vision looked around, trying to locate his extraterrestrial foe. But just moments later Vision felt a force approach him from behind and a similar burst of force hitting him vertically.
Slammed into the watery depths, Vision's drop left behind a giant uproar of water. Gazing down from the skies above, Martian Manhunter switched his vision to locate the sunken android, and in little time he pinpointed Vision's body beginning to resurface from the ocean. Flying back into the skies, Vision caught up to his foe. Coming right at him with a punch, Vision unleashed his punch, but Martian Manhunter sidestepped the attack, triggering Vision to follow up with another attack, this time, attempting a grab.
Before the grab could be accomplished, Martian Manhunter intercepted Vision's grab and exerted his strength, crumbling Vision's strength, and rendering the grab completely inefficient. Martian Manhunter retaliated by delivering a punch of his own, successfully striking the android. Vision recoiled from the strike, almost covering his face, but again, Vision persisted in making an attack. Vision charged the solar gem fired it almost immediately, Martian Manhunter raised his left arm to protect himself from the beam. Vision intensified the beam, which instinctively caused the Martian to back away.
Seeing an opportunity, Vision charged ahead, knowing he had a small window opened to him. While the Martian was trying to recover from the incredible heat of the solar beam, Vision engaged his enemy. Landing a punch to the head, a successful follow-up punch to the torso, and then ramming himself into the Martian, disorienting the alien. "You are a formidable machine" Martian Manhunter remarked, and Vision stopped, only to hear him out. "But this game cannot go on any longer". Knowing his foe was likely about to attack once again, Vision hatched a plan. And flew away incredibly quickly, a bit startled that his opponent was fleeing, Martian Manhunter decided to follow him. Seeing where he was going to go.
As the ocean's surface stretched for hundreds of thousands of kilometres, eventually, the two found land once again. Thinking about this decision carefully, Martian Manhunter stayed close behind Vision, seeing where this endeavour was going to take them. Soon, Vision changed his path and flew toward a large warehouse-like building. As Martian Manhunter flew inside the building, the doors slammed shut, and for a moment, it was pitch black, but quickly, lights turned on, granting both visual clarity of their surroundings.
"I've got you right where I want you" Vision commented. Refusing to let his opponent maintain an advantage, Martian Manhunter observed the room very quickly, using his various types of vision to realize it was just a standard warehouse room, nothing but emptiness. Seeing that there wasn't anything that could hold him back, the Martian of Mars makes his move. Martian Manhunter flies at him, he grabs Vision, lifts him, throws him, and flies after him.
Knowing he is about to hit the wall, Vision activates his phasing, as he approaches the metal surface. He phases through the wall, causing Martian Manhunter to smash into it, creating a sizable dent on the wall. Martian Manhunter steadies himself, recovering from the collision as Vision floats up behind him, looking perfectly fine. "I was not fooling around when I said that" Vision added. Martian Manhunter turns around and once again charges toward Vision. Taking defensive measures, Vision triggered his density, increasing it to its greatest extent. Martian Manhunter unleashed a punch and noticed immediately Vision was far sturdier than he had been previously.
Striking back where it counted, Vision struck Martian Manhunter with his increased physical density, hitting him to the ground. He then flies down and stomps on the Martian's chest. He prepares to fire the solar beam once again, but suddenly, Martian Manhunter seems to sink into the very floor he's on. Vision stops, not expecting it. Vision begins observing his surroundings., but can't locate his opponent. Just then Martian Manhunter, while intangible, flies up from the ground, and becomes tangible once again to strike Vision with a powerful uppercut, the blow knocks Vision to the ground. "You are not the only one with the ability to alter density" Martian Manhunter explained.
Vision gathered himself, now learning the nature of his opponent's powers. With his mind racing and processing information, he quickly decided he needed to take advantage of his powers, and manipulate them. Vision surged ahead, aiming right for the Martian Manhunter. Vision pulled his arm back, ready for a mighty blow, Martian Manhunter evaded the attack by sidestepping him, but this only resulted in Vision course-correcting himself into following the Martian. Vision pursued the Manhunter relentlessly, but he knew it would only persist for so long, and Martian Manhunter knew it too, and without warning, he stopped evading and started attacking again.
The two traded their punches with each other, but both were rendered ineffective, as both altered their density, phasing through their opponent. Realizing this at the same time, the two stepped back, seeing as they weren't going to get many more hits in. Vision once again fired his solar beam toward Martian Manhunter, and the response was much the same, heat vision and solar beam collided, with the two being far more serious about it this time. The beams persisted, but then Martian Manhunter increased the intensity of his heat vision, and it overwhelmed Vision's solar beam. Having persisted so greatly, Vision wasn't able to avoid the Heat Vision in time.
With a far greater extent of his heat vision in play, Martian Manhunter easily enveloped Vision within his Heat Vision, incinerating him, and gradually burning him away. After a few seconds, Martian Manhunter stopped, only to realize Vision was perfectly fine, whatever had happened, it had completely circumvented his attempts to blast him. Vision flew toward Martian Manhunter, eager to get payback, but Martian Manhunter turned himself intangible, and his adversary flew right through him. Vision tried using his Solar Beam to attack, but once again, the attack simply phased right through Martian Manhunter, instead, the beam carved right through the wall behind Martian Manhunter. At this point Vision was becoming frustrated, all of his attacks just weren't working.
"You are difficult, I will admit that much" Vision commented. Nevertheless, he had become irritated by the displays of intangibility that rendered him unable to even feasibly harm his foe. It was something of an irritant, one that Vision was not fond of being around. "At the very least, you could try to take this seriously" Vision added, noting that the reliance of intangibility has created this idea of cowardice on the Manhunter's part. However, this didn't go without a response, and he got it just moments afterwards. "I haven't tried yet" Martian Manhunter replied. Caught off guard by the comment, Vision thought that perhaps the Manhunter was trying to manipulate him into a false sense of security.
"Well then, what happens next?" Martian Manhunter added. Vision thought about what his next move would be, unsure of what he could even do, but one thing he did know, he wouldn't be able to attack knowing his foe could render it obsolete on arrival. Vision fired his solar beam to the ceiling, cutting a hole. With it open, Vision flew up and out of the warehouse. Deciding to follow him, Martian Manhunter flew through the same hole and kept a close eye on his opponent. As the two flew across the globe, Martian Manhunter began to ponder just what exactly Vision was planning. Wanting answers, Martian Manhunter closed his eyes and began to channel the power of his mind, stretching across the distance between the two.
At that moment, Vision received data in his mind that something was being tampered with, he not only became aware of it, but he could resist it. But Vision concluded quickly, gathering his thoughts quickly enough that they do not come right back to the Manhunter. The Vision stopped moving, and allowed Martian Manhunter to approach, and chose to let his mental warfare persist. But at that moment, Vision approached Martian Manhunter and made his fist intangible, and phasing into his chest. Vision then returned his fist to normal, and his limb was now inside Martian Manhunter's body. Not expecting it, Martian Manhunter ached in pain, but not before Vision ripped his chest open, leaving behind a large gaping wound.
Floating above his wounded adversary, Vision decided to add to his successful streak of attacks by launching his solar beam. Trying to avoid the attack whilst having an open wound on his chest, Martian Manhunter evaded to the right, but not quickly enough, as Vision's solar beam landed on his arm. Exploiting the opportunity even further, Vision intensified the solar beam, and with a precise move, the beam cut off Martian Manhunter's left arm, and it fell until it could no longer be seen. Vision watched his staggered, and almost falling enemy continue to wither away in the pain of his damage. "Finally! Your time has run out!" Vision remarked as he readied his solar beam, focusing the direction of the blast toward Martian Manhunter's head.
As he timed his beam to land a fatal hit, Vision fired his solar beam and attempts to finish the hero off, but misses his shot and ends up hitting something else. "What?!" Martian Manhunter had manipulated the trajectory of the beam with his telekinesis. And at that moment, Martian Manhunter begins to regenerate, a new left arm grows from where it was cut, and his chest beings closing the open wounds, and returning to normal. Not having anticipated regeneration, Vision knew he was in danger, and flew backward to put distance between him and Martian Manhunter. However, Martian Manhunter had other ideas, reaching out his right arm, Martian Manhunter extended his limb, and stretched it far enough to grab hold of Vision.
(Cue SWAT Helicopter - Enter the Matrix)
With the android now in his grasp, Martian Manhunter increased the size of his body, trapping Vision inside his closed fist, Vision grabbed what he could, and tried pushing back against it, even using the solar beam, which managed to give him a brief window of opportunity to push the Manhunter's hand open. but unfortunately, it didn't go according to his plans. Instead, Martian Manhunter, now giant-sized, using Vision as a pebble, tossed him upward. Without fail, Vision soared higher and higher until finally, he exited Earth's atmosphere, he was now in space.
Composing himself, Vision looked around and realized he was in space. He looked back down at Earth, only to see the giant Manhunter also exiting Earth's atmosphere, seeing that he was about to be given a gigantic punch in the face, Vision turned himself intangible, and Martian Manhunter's fist passed right through him. Which he noticed almost immediately, and when his attack was over, he decreased his size, returning to his standard size, where he noticed Vision was coming right at him. Vision tossed out an attack, which Manhunter phased through, and he countered with an attack of his own, but Vision turned himself denser than metal, and so the attack barely knocked Vision. Immediately, Vision retaliated with a punch backed up by that same density.
Martian Manhunter becomes agitated himself, and increases the size of his fist, landing a far greater blow against Vision, knocking the android back a few meters. Martian Manhunter followed up by extending his limb to grab hold of Vision once again. But the android was more than capable of seeing it coming right for him, and so he fired his solar beam at Martian Manhunter's hand. While it did not stop his hand's grip, Martian Manhunter unleashed his heat vision, pulling his hand back, Vision was caught off guard, struck by the powerful heat vision. Knowing that the people of Earth were safe from their destructive duel, Martian Manhunter refused to hold back anymore.
As he struggled to reliably counter the heat vision, Vision knew his only way out of this. Vision stopped his solar beam, and activated his phasing, turning intangible once again, as Martian Manhunter's heat vision passed right through him. Vision then took the opportunity to fly right through the heat vision and Martian Manhunter, before turning himself back to normal, splitting the Manhunter in two. Vision prepared to destroy the bottom half of the Manhunter, but just then, he felt his mind being overwhelmed, he could hear voices, and see things that looked real that weren't. While he did his absolute best to fend off the mental attacks, he could only resist for so long.
With the android occupied, Martian Manhunter used telekinesis to grab hold of the bottom half of his body and pull it back toward his top half. In seconds, the Manhunter's body regenerated, completely restoring his body to normal. Seeing that his opponent was still trying to fight back against his immense telepathy, Martian Manhunter made his next move. He grabbed hold of Vision and flung him upward. As Vision soared through space, Martian Manhunter increased his size until he was an enormous size, and was big enough to make the Moon look like a tennis ball.
Looking to press his advantage, Martian Manhunter wanted to exercise just how much he could utterly devastate Vision. Martian Manhunter looked to his left and saw Earth's singular orbiting Moon. With little time, and basic logic confirming no other lifeforms were on the Moon, Martian Manhunter grabbed the moon with both his hands and tore it in half. Now holding two solid halves of the Moon, Martian Manhunter located Vision approaching the middle, and with a mighty shout, Martian Manhunter crushes Vision between the two halves of the Moon. Returning to his normal size, Martian Manhunter flies into the rubble of the very destructive feat he pulled off. Amongst the many smaller pieces of the Moon still intact, Martian Manhunter found him.
Laying there, completely unconscious, Vision was completely battered and bruised, he had missing limbs and he floated completely lifelessly. Knowing that a machine was not likely to be dead with just a few missing pieces, Martian Manhunter knew he needed to bring this to an end, but not dishonourably. However, just before the Manhunter made his move, Vision awoke, capable of functioning despite the immense power he was just thrust into. Shortly thereafter, Vision regenerated what pieces he was missing, and returned to normal.
Seeing that it was going to take complete physical destruction to wipe out the android, Martian Manhunter speed blitzes Vision, using his vastly greater travel speed, and grabbing onto the android and dragging him across the cosmos, being pulled at such speeds was a bit overwhelming for Vision, who turned himself intangible to break free from the Manhunter's grip. The two stopped, and the android unleashed his solar beam, empowered by how close they had come to the Sun. Struck by the beam, Martian Manhunter quickly got over the burning fear, and retaliated with his heat vision, with both beams amplified to being at full power, it was all but assured they were unleashing their full power.
However, Martian Manhunter raced toward Vision, intensifying his heat vision, once again overpowering the solar beam, finally, the heat vision struck the gem on Vision's forehead, Vision almost immediately recoiled and became vulnerable. Martian Manhunter seized his opportunity. Manhunter grabbed hold of the android and tossed him toward the brightly burning sun behind him.
As he flew toward the star, Martian Manhunter activated his heat vision once more, as the android's body got closer and closer to the surface of the Sun, the heat vision blasted him into the Sun, burning him alive, and incinerating him until absolutely nothing remained, nothing to recover from. Martian Manhunter stood alone in space, looking at the Sun, a literal object of his fears.
K.O.!
Conclusion[]
Boomstick: Wow, Scarlet Witch is going to be pissed when she finds out what happened to her android lover!
Wiz: Martian Manhunter takes the win here for several reasons. Firstly, he outclassed Vision in regards to physical capabilities. However, Vision’s density shifting and shapeshifting abilities would’ve been able to catch Manthuner off guard, at least for a while.
Boomstick: But Manhunter is super smart and he’d probably figure out a way to counter them with his own shapeshifting and intangiblity. He has battled beings of greater power, like Superboy-Prime, so Vision wouldn’t be able to keep Manhunter down for long.
Wiz: The android’s solar beam could damage to Manhunter, as it uses solar energy, which Manhunter is psychologically afraid of. But it also wouldn’t keep the Martian at bay, since he’s battled other beings with Heat Vision. He could just as easily counter it with his Martian Vision. Furthermore, Manhunter’s Martian Vision could target intangible beings, which prevented Vision from having a long-term counter to the Martian’s might.
Boomstick: Vision’s mind was formidable to many, but Martian Manhunter isn’t some rookie when it comes to mind games, he’s mindwiped the entire Justice League and even managed to get into the mind of the Spectre, a being empowered by DC’s version of God. So it wouldn’t take much for Manhunter to simply invade Vision’s mind and potentially shut down his systems.
Wiz: Manhunter was able to counter anything Vision could throw at him thanks to his insane regeneration. But given the Martian’s compassionate nature, he’d rather try to end the fight peacefully, rather than rip his foes a new one. But given Vision’s regenerative ability, it wasn’t easy.
Boomstick: Though keep in mind, Manhunter’s got the tactical skill to figure out how he can stop someone like that. Even if it did mean risking his life to drag Vision toward the Sun. That’s a pretty ballsy move there Manhunter.
Wiz: Vision is certainly an admirable hero and one that the good Martian would get along with rather well. But when all is said and done, Manhunter’s superior physical stats, vaster array of abilities and tactical ingenuity allowed him to overcome the android and obtain victory.
Boomstick: Looks like Vision suffered from a solar energy overdose!
Wiz: The Winner is Martian Manhunter.
