· Wiz: Dragons, mythical reptiles of any entertainment that come in various shapes and sizes.
· Boomstick: Nowadays, when people think of dragons they think of cute and friendly Dragons like Sisu and Toothless. But in the past, Dragons were seen as evil creature who ravaged villages and kidnapped princesses. And these two fires breathing lizards are prime examples of them.
· Wiz: Like Smaug, One of The Last Living Dragons Of Middle Earth.
· Boomstick: And Malefor, the Dark Master and Fallen Purple Dragon. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
· Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle
Smaug hoards the treasure of Death Battle all to himself[]
Smaug
o Wiz: One of the last great dragons of Middle-earth living near the Grey Mountains, Smaug was known for his fierce reputation as a Fire-drake, which is Lord of the Rings term used to describe a fire-breathing dragons.
o Boomstick: Sounds kinda catchy for a book made in 1937. Anyway, Smaug eventually caught wind of a vast horde of treasures collected by King Thrór of the Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. Being the greedy Dragon he was, Smaug wanted all of that treasure for himself. Can you blame him though, with so much wealth at your fingertips, you’re bound to attract some unwanted attention.
o Wiz: Wasting no time, Smaug laid waste to both Erebor and the neighboring town of Dale, killing any Dwarves or Men who dare tried to stop him. King Thrór and the surviving dwarves used the secret door to escape, but the dragon continued ravaging the surrounding countryside long after.
o Boomstick: For two centuries, Smaug ruled the Lonely Mountain with an iron claw. He spent his days within the mountain lying on top of his great treasure hoard, which he guarded jealously, like an extremely large watch dog guarding his favorite toy. Don't touch me gold Wiz!
Dragon of Middle Earth
o Wiz: Since when do you have gold Boomstick. Also, how much gold are we talking about? The surrounding domain became a scarred wasteland known to the Dwarves and men as the "Desolation of Smaug”
o Boomstick: It didn’t take long for Smaug to gain an even fearsome reputation than he already had. He even began to be known as Smaug the Golden, Smaug the Terrible, Smaug the Magnificent, and Smaug the Cold-blooded. Oh Sorry, that one I made up on my own, but you gotta admit he lives up to it though.
o Wiz: No Joke. Although, Smaug's actual size was unspecified as it was never explicitly mentioned in the The Hobbit series, in the book published by Karen Wynn Fonstad called “In The Atlas of Middle-Earth” and drawings by author J.R.R. Tolkien, Smaug is said to be about 65 to 85 feet in length. Though this reference can be considered non-canonical to other sources.
o Boomstick: For the film directed by Peter Jackson, Smaug is said to over 427 ft in length, which is greater than two jumbo jets, making his weight close to 220 tones. For Death Battle’s sakes, we’ll keep the same weight but make his length 85 in comparison to his opponent.
Fire and Destruction
o Wiz: Being a fully-grown dragon, Smaug was both massive and powerful, possessing physical strength great enough to crush stone with ease, like when blasted his way through the Lonely Mountain. He was able to fly long distances thanks to his large wings, and had the ability to breath streams of searing hot flames from his mouth
o Boomstick: Typical Dragon stuff. Like many dragons of Middle-earth, Smaug's monstrous appearance is also matched by his keen senses and a dangerously sharp mind. He would make the bravest warriors in Middle-Earth go running make home to their mommies with just a smile from his sinister face.
o Wiz: He had an encyclopedic knowledge of every ounce of treasure in his hoard, from the tiniest coin to the largest golden brick, immediately noticing the presence of Bilbo when he snuck into his lair. Despite his size, Smaug is shown to be agile and quick, able to leap over objects with ease, and he can dive at very high speeds with little effort.
Evil Grin 😈
o Boomstick: Defensively, Smaug's reddish-gold scales rendered him impervious to nearly all weapons, but his underbelly was relatively soft and vulnerable.
o Wiz: To compensate for this, Smaug took to sleeping upon the gathered treasure of the Lonely Mountain, allowing bits of gold and jewels to embed themselves in his body. This so called "diamond waistcoat" was intended to cover Smaug's only physical weak spot, the small patch of exposed flesh on the left breast.
o Boomstick: Smaug has razor-sharp teeth which grant him a deadly and ferocious bite as well as sharp claws which are sufficient to rend. Not to mention, a long prehensile tail that he can use as a formidable weapon to smack his enemies.
Dragon Breath
o Wiz: Smaug is portrayed as being psychopathic, arrogant, and greedy, possessing an unquenchable desire for gold.
o Boomstick: However, these traits proved to be his downfall, as he unwittingly reveals the weak spot in his chest to Bilbo when showing the Hobbit how he had willfully coated his underbelly in treasure to protect it. But good luck trying to get to that spot in the first place, because this dragon is not going down without a fight.
o Wiz: He’s been shoot with hundreds of spears and arrows, douses with boiling liquid gold, and buried alive in a rockslide. But he took all of his foe’s punishment, got right back up, and went right back to doing what he does best.
o Boomstick: Trust me you do not want to get on this Dragon’s bad side, unless you want to be roasted like a marshmallow.
o Wiz: But in the year TA 2941, Thrór's grandson and surviving heir Thorin Oakenshield led a company composed of himself and thirteen of his kin to reclaim the Arkenstone, with the aid of the wizard Gandalf who added a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins into their group.
o Boomstick: Since Smaug was unfamiliar with the scent of hobbits, Bilbo would make the perfect "burglar” to sneak into the dragon’s lair and let the dwarves inside to set their trap and provide a distraction to the massive reptile.
o Wiz: When Bilbo confronted the dragon in his lair, he discovered a bare patch on the left side of his chest. This was the result of an injury he had sustained turning his invasion the Lonely Mountain centuries ago.
Bilbo meets Smaug
o Boomstick: The only know weapon with enough power to pierce the armored hide of dragons a Black Arrow. These are two meters in length with heavy twisted steel heads, combining elements of both spears and harpoons
o Wiz: Designed to be fired from a giant crossbow or ballista (an ancient Roman weapon) for attacking dragons, Bard the Bowman, a direct descendent of Girion, the one who wounded Smaug in the first place, retrieves the arrows from his home intent on slaying Smaug during his attack on Lake-Town.
o Boomstick: With his son’s help and all with all his remaining strength, Bard used his last Black Arrow to pierce Smaug vulnerable wounded scale, striking his heart and killing him.
o Wiz: Sort of like a David and Goliath story one may say.
o Boomstick: But even after Smaug was dead and buried beneath the waves, the treasure he left behind only caused tension between the Dwarves and Men.
Smaug and his treasure
o Wiz: Though Smaug may not have been the biggest and powerful dragon of Middle-Earth, he will always be known as one of the greatest and feared dragons in all of fictional literature.
o Boomstick: If you are in Middle-Earth and you see a giant silhouette of a dragon in the night sky, you better pray to god that it’s not Smaug, because if it is, you are a dead man or dwarf.
o Smaug: Well, thief. I smell you. I hear your breath. I feel your air. Where are you? Where are you?!?
Malefor lurks in the Shadows of Death Battle.[]
Malefor
o Wiz: In the realm of dragons, all Dragon species are born with different elemental abilities that are based on the color of their scales or eyes: red for Fire, yellow for Electricity, blue for Ice, white for Wind, and green for Earth
o Boomstick: But every ten generations, a rare breed of dragon known as Purple Dragons are born into world and respected by others has legends. What makes them so special, it’s that Purple Dragons can master more than one element other dragons can't, and can even control time to a certain extent.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP87PD_Uq8E&t=34s
o Wiz: When the Purple Dragon that comes to most people’s minds is the legendary Spyro, there was another Purple Dragon that came before him and would serve as his archenemy and be responsible for setting in motion the events that take place throughout the Legend of Spyro trilogy
The Dark Master
o Boomstick: This was none other than the Dark Master and corrupt dragon himself Malefor.
o Wiz: Born in ancient times, Malefor was the first known purple dragon to born, and a talented one at that. He first mastered the element of Fire, despite not being a fire dragon, and then harnessed the powers of Ice, Wind, Earth, Electricity, and many other elements none thought existed.
o Boomstick: Making Malefor the first dragon to be able to use more than one element at a time. Believing Malefor to be the shining hope of Dragonkind and the one to usher them into a new age, the Dragon Elders willingly taught Malefor how to master these elements. If only they knew that their greatest accomplishment, would later become the greatest threat the world had ever seen.

o Wiz: However, as time went by, it was apparent that his power knew no boundary. This allowed Malefor to gain a lust for power and consume all the knowledge of the Dragon Elders. Fearing his lack of restraint, the Elders banished Malefor.
Malefor and the Dragon Elders
o Boomstick: Oh that’s not going to end well.
o Wiz: It didn’t. Filled with hatred for his own kind, Malefor abandoned his true calling and embraced the darkness of the Aether element, the signature raw ability of the Purple Dragon. Don’t you give me that look Boomstick, you lost that card game fair and square, so I get to choose what we call this element.
o Boomstick: I knew I was going to regret letting you write the script for this episode!
o Wiz: The dark power corrupted his physical appearance and altered his voice, but Malefor was able to gain full command over Dark Aether and not let it consume his consciousness. As a result, Malefor would take on the title as "The Dark Master" for his full mastery over the dark power he possessed.

o Boomstick: He launched a full-on war against Dragonkind, and with his dark magic would cause the earth to crack into pieces, creating a mountain that became known as the Well of Souls. Though Malefor was eventually defeated and imprisoned in the mountain, he was still able to reach out through is mind and cause trouble in the world.
o Wiz: Learning that there were prophecies of a coming purple dragon destined to defeat him, Malefor became worried that the new purple dragon’s power would equal his own, he did everything in his power to make sure the purple dragon’s egg would be destroyed.
o Boomstick: His plan ultimately failed, and Spyro was born. Eventually, Malefor escaped the Well of Souls thanks to his corrupted servant Cynder, and set out to conquer the world.
Spyro and Cynder vs Malefor
o Wiz: Malefor is large, even for a dragon, and he is darkly colored, usually appearing dark gray and purple. He is estimated to be 13 feet in height, 20 feet in length, and weighing up to 950 lbs. With his sharp horns, razor-sharp claws and strong tail, Malefor is as much of an expert at close-quarters combat as any four legged being can be.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ed1rYwg3Bq4
o Boomstick: And as undisputed King of Evil, Malefor is unfathomably powerful. As a Purple Dragon, he can control virtually any element through his breath, to the point of perfection. He masters all five Dragon elements and the Purple Dragons' signature element…ugh...
o Wiz: Say it, Say it…We made a Deal remember...
Malefor lays waste to a city
o Boomstick: ....Ugh Aether, the mightiest element encompassing cosmic power, purest energy, spirit and life-force. He has total control over it, retaining his own will while dragons corrupted by it become either mindless or slaves to evil, not like he’d care or anything since he’s both of those things already. Malefor can also conjure force fields that protect him from all attacks except for ugh…Aether Breath.
o Wiz: Malefor holds full mastery of the darkness that corrupted him. The reality-warping Dark Aether enables him to create, transform and manipulate things as he pleases.
Dark Magic
o Boomstick: Since his time as the Dark Master, he’s made his fortress levitate, turned his Ape monsters into undead ghouls, create artificial minions like his Grublin army, and when he creates magic collars binding Spyro and Cynder together. Talk being closer than ever.
o Wiz: He can witness far away events and communicate with anyone in the world, and is apparently able to influence the dreams of other as well.
o Boomstick: And if that wasn’t creepy and terrifying enough, he claims to be eternal and immortal, making him almost unstoppable by any form of attack or spell.
o Wiz: The only thing that can stop one Purple Dragon of evil is another Purple Dragon of good. This brought him face-to-face with his most dangerous foe: Spyro.
Malefor ready to Fight
o Boomstick: When Spyro and Cynder enter Malefor's temple to confront the Dark Master, he greets them and proceeds to break their confidence with but a few sentences. He used Cynder's doubts to turn her evil again and makes her attack Spyro, now that’s a Pure Evil Villain. As the Dark Master revels in the situation, Spyro refuses to fight Cynder and manages to turn her back to normal.
o Wiz: Enraged, Malefor declares that she will share Spyro's fate. Spyro and Cynder engage a tremendous battle against Malefor, with the world beginning to fall apart and hope beginning to fade. Nevertheless, they continue to fight Malefor, and their battle drags them to the centre of the world. There, the evil dragon declares that he is eternal and engages Spyro and Cynder in a duel of Aether Breath, but they managed to knock him down.

o Boomstick: Before he continues his attack, dragon spirits appear and surround Malefor before sealing him away for good into the core of the world. Wow, Karma really did a number on this guy.
o Wiz: Spyro then uses his power of Light Aether to stop the destruction of the world and restore it, ending the Dark Master's malice once and for all.
The Past comes back to haunt Malefor
o Boomstick: Though Malefor may be down and out for the count, he will forever remain a constant nightmare to plague the minds of all Dragonkind.
o Malefor: At long last, my guests have arrived. Please come in. Such determination to get here. It seems we share other qualities besides that of our color.
Pre-Fight:[]
Wiz: all right the combatants are set, lets end this debate once and for all.
Boomstick: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fight[]
Lonely Mountains
Inside the Lonely Mountains, Smaug is sleeping underneath his pile of treasures. He suddenly hears a sound coming from outside the mountain as the walls begin to shake, waking Smaug up and lifting his head out from the pile of gold. A strange power blasts through the walls of the mountain and Malefor floats inside.
Smaug: Who dares disturb my slumber
Malefor: No need to worry yourself fellow dragon, i am only here to collect a single item hidden inside your mound of treasure. I'm merely here to retrieve it, and i'll be on my way.
Smaug: Fool, this treasure is mine, this mountain is mine. You think that can come and take what is rightfully mine, then your are either an idiot or a trickster.
Malefor: Give the fact that your were a fellow dragon of my liking, I was going to make this as painless as possible. But I see that my mercy is not wanted. If you will not give me what I want, then I will take it, by force.
Smaug: Now you and I are speaking the same language.
Smaug unleashes a flame of fire at Malefor, but he uses his small size and speed to dodge the attack. Malefor fires a blast of fire of his own, but Smaug dives into his mound of treasure to hide Smaug slithered through his treasure hoard, with Malefor turning different corners to to keep him in her sight. After spotting several rock pillars above him, Malefor uses his claws and wings to slice through them, causing them to fall in the path of the buried Smaug, making him slam head first into them. The Great dragon then slowly pulling himself free to reveal his hulking size. Malefor flies around the cave as Smaug tries to hit him with his fire, who is able to avoid the attacks, causing damage to the sides of the cave. Though Malefor is able to evade most of Smaug's attacks, he ends up getting hit on his wing, causing him to plummet into the treasure pile. Malefor shakes the attack off just as Smaug is crawling towards him to attacks him
Malefor: Your big, but I've fought bigger.
Smaug: We'll see about that.
Smaug charges forward, with his mouth wide open to chomp down on Malefor's body. Despite the immense pain he is in, the purple dragon responds with a glare before swinging out his claws to slash Smaug in the eye, making Smaug wince in pain and open his mouth, freeing Malefor in the process. Smaug spins his massive body around to deliver a tail whip to Malefe, who easily flies out of the way to avoid the tail, which hits a stone pillar instead. Growling in anger, Smaug takes a deep breath and unleashes a stream of fire, which Malefor counters with his own fire breath. The attacks collided together, straining to overpower the other for a moment before the clashing forces caused an explosion that threw up a massive cloud of smoke.
As the smoke begins to clear, Smaug comes roaring out and attempts to chomp down on Malefor, who zooms up in an aerial circle to dodge the attacks before swiping the great dragon's head with his own talons. But Smaug is unfazed by the attack, and zooms his head forward to deliver a heavy headbutt onto Malefor. Though dazed by the attack, Malefor shakes off the blow and dives down with his horns, jabbing right into the bare patch on the left side of Smaug's chest. This causes the great dragon to roar in pain as he stands up to reveal his massive wings. Smaug then brings his wings to together in a massive flap, generating enough force to send Malefor flying through the air to smash against the wall of the cave.
Malefor: I like this game, now taste MY flame.
Malefor Fires a massive ball of fire at Smaug hitting him straight in the head, which is powerful enough to daze the great dragon and make him flop onto his mound of treasures. As Smaug shakes himself back to focus, he sees the dark master readying another massive fireball, ready to finish him off. But put instead, Malefor fires it at away from Smaug's head, seemingly making it miss and hits the ceiling of the cave. Taking advantage of this, Smaug charges at Malefor and uses his massive wing to pin him down.
Smaug: Ha, you missed
Malefor: I never miss
The ceiling begins to shake and several large pillar falls on Smaug’s head, burying him within his treasure. As Smaug tries to pull his head out, Malefor opened his mouth and spat out a blast of ice, which causes his head to get frozen against a pillar. Smaug attempts to pull himself free of the ice around his neck before Malefor reared up in front of him, raining down clawed blows upon his head and face. The assault eventually causes the ice around the great dragon's body to crack a bit, allowing Smaug to pull himself out of the ice and free himself. Smaug goes for a another bite, but Malefor once again uses his speed to avoid the attack, and instead goes right for the great dragon's eye. Digging his claw into the eye of the great dragon, Malefor bites down on his opponent's eye, making the great dragon roar in pain. This causes Malefor to shack around violently and slam his head against the walls of the cave trying to shake, until Smaug is able to fling the purple dragon off him. As Smaug shakes his head to regain his senses, Malefor slash against the bottom of a large state, causing it to fall ontop of Smaug.
As Smaug tries to free himself, Malefor smirks and begins searching through the treasure. He then comes across a ruby and picks it up before flying off through the hole in the walls. Smaug pulls himself out from the statue and notices Malefor is gone as well as the jewel, roaring in anger. Malefor floats in the air, admiring the ruby. All of a sudden, Smaug blast through the walls of the mountain, flying towards Malefor.
Smaug: YOU. RETURN WHAT BELONGS TO ME.
Malefor: Then come and get it.
Smaug and Malefor charge at each other, trading claw attacks to each other, but Smaug's attacks are heavy and slow, while Malefor is swift and light. The great dragon lands a heavy blow to Malefor that sends him flying, but Malefor catches himself and flies around Smaug in blinding speed to slash and bite Smaug. Smaug then unleash a gust of wind from his massive wings to send the purple dragon flying into the air uncontrollably. But Malefor recovers and zooms back down at full speed and whacks Smaug in the head with his tail to knock him back a bit, but Smaug then tries to do the same, but the Malefor uses his speed and smaller size to dodge it.
Malefor: You may be larger than me, but you are slow and weak
Smaug: Slow, maybe, weak, NO!!!
Then the two dragons decide to fly further into the air, and do a dogfight, firing their flames at each other. Flying past each other trying to harm each other with their breaths, and dodging the layer’s. But then Smaug finally gets a hit with Malefor’s lightning breath, giving Smaug a shock causing him to land on top of his mountain. But Smaug refuses to give up the fight as he land on top of the Lonely Mountain, roaring at his opponent.
Malefor flies towards the middle earth dragon, but when he was about to fire an attack, Smaug uses his jaws to grab the Dark Master with his teeth inserted, causing Malefor to roar in pain. Malefor the uses his ice breath to fire an ice shard into Smaug’s eye, injuring him and forcing him to let go of Malefor. Smaug then flies after him.
Smaug: You will pay for that.
Smaug unleashes blast of fire once more, but Malefor counters by using his ice breath instead of his fire, which clashes with Smaug's fire breath, causing a blinding fog to appear across the sky. Smaug uses his fire breath again, but Malefor counters with and Electric breath, which negates the attack and strikes Smaug, injuring his face. Smaug then attempts to fly upward for another attack, and Malefor quickly follows. Malefor gets above Smaug first and used an Ice attack, hitting Samug's wing and sending him into a free-fall. Smaug uses his fire breath to free himself from the ice and flies towards Malefor to bite him, Malefor swiftly dodges the attack. Malefor fires another Ice attack, but Smaug maneuvers away at the last moment, avoiding the attack, and grabs Malefor in his mouth. Smaug then throws Malefor from his mouth back towards the earth and is sent crashing into the mountain. Though shaken by the attack, Malefor gets back on his feet. Smaug unleashes another powerful fire attack, and Malefor retaliates with his own fire attack. Both attacks collide, and the two dragon are sent flying back.
As Malefor looks around him to find Smaug, his silhouette appears from behind him and ambushes the dark master. Smaug grabs Malefor in his claws, flying towards the Lonely Mountain and scraping him along the walls of the mountain. Malefor then starts charging his body with electricity, which begins to stings Smaug's claws. He then lets loose a powerful burst of lighting, and the blast forces Smaug to let go, sending back into the sky. Though stunned, Smaug is able to shake himself off before flying back down to the mountain to find Malefor, but he is no longer there. He then notices Malefor flying towards the clouds, and he chases after him.
When Smaug reaches a clearing in the sky, Malefor appears to the right of him and activates his earth power to turn into a ball of earth. He slams into Smaug, he tries to bite him, but Malefor is too fast and evades his teeth. He then bounces through the clouds battering Smaug repeatedly. Recognizing a pattern, Smaug isable to incapacitate Malefor, as he uses his tail to whack Malefor's earth ball into pieces and knock him into the water below, dropping the ruby.
Samug then hovers down and picks up the ruby with his tail and begins to fly back towards the mountain. But Malefor blast out from out of the water and zooms past Smaug, snatching the ruby from him and heads for the clouds above. Smaug chases after him and fires his flames into the clouds, only to loose sight of him as the smoke clears.
As Smaug searches for Malefor, who quietly and quickly glides through the clouds without being seen, he begins bombarding the larger dragon with different elemental blasts. Pushed to his limit, Smaug then tried to fill the entire cloud bank with fire, which burns Malefor's wing, causing him to loose his balance and glide out of the cloud banks where Smaug can see him. Smaug then dove after him and prepares to light him on fire while Malefor is falling.
Malefor then regains his consciousness and glides back up to the air, with Smaug chasing after him. As Malefor gets closer to a mountain, he turns around mid-flight and fires an ice blast in the face freezing his eyes, blindly him. With his foe distracted, Malefor flies out of the way while Smaug crashed into the bottom of the mountain, burying him in rocks. Thinking it’s over, Malefor floats away, but he hears a rumble and Smaug blasts his way from the rocks and flies towards Malefor.
Smaug: You’ve had your fun worm, but I’ve had enough
Malefor: Oh believe me, the fun is just getting started
Smaug opens with a Fire attack, which is evaded by Malefor. Malefor retaliates with an Electricity attack, which Smaug blocks with his wings. Malefor then unleashes a powerful flame attack, but Smaug blocks it by slapping his tail into the water to create a water wall to extinguish the hit. Smaug then flies up towards Malefor and tries to strike him with his tail, but Malefor uses his speed to dodges it. Smaug uses Fire breath while Malefor uses his ice breath. The two attacks collide, creating a thick smoke covering the entire landscape. Malefor attempt to fly above the smoke, but Smaug spots him and flies after him. The two dragons chase after one another until Malefor flies back towards the smoke. Smaug retaliates by launching another fire attack by using his earth ability to roll into a ball, and disappears into the smoke. Smaug tries to slow down, but is flying too fast and crashes into the mountain, while Malefor flies back into the air as the smoke clears.
Malefor then begins to glow with energy and unleashes his Aether breath from him mouth. Smaug fired his flame, but when the breaths collide, the Aether breath overpowers the fire breath and the Aether breath hits Smaug in the chest (where is broken scale is) and sends him flying back into the mountain, disintegrating the dragon and then destroying the mountain.
Malefor: HA Ha Ha, all too easy
With the ruby in hand Malefor flies off into the night sky as with the mountain engulfed in flames.
Results[]
Boosmtick: So is he keeping all that gold? If not I call dibs.
Wiz: Both these dragons were powerful and evil in their own right, but only one had more advantages over the others.
Boomstick: Sure Smaug had the advantages when it cam to size and strength, Malefor had him out classed in every other category.
Wiz: Sure Smaug was capable of destroying an entire city in a matter of minutes, Malefor could do the same only on a planet level scale
Boomstick: Malefor nearly ripped the entire world into pieces with his dark magic. And with his…ugh…Aether ability, he could handle anything Malefor threw at him.
Wiz: And it was hard to tell had the most experience, since both had been alive for decades and maintained their rule over their dominance until the heroes came along. Smaug may have been a cunning opponent feared by the people of his land, by Malefor’s magic and various elemental powers were too much for him.
Boomstick: Man I’ve got a lot of “Smaug” in my eyes after seeing these two “Malicious” flying lizards “slaying” each other
Wiz: The Winner is Malefor
