Makima vs. Toru is a What If? Death Battle written by ThSlIlN, featuring Makima from Chainsaw Man and Toru from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Chainsaw Man vs. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure! Which master of manipulation will manages to beat the other? Will the controlling director of the devil hunters take the win? Or will the Locacaca Organization's founder and leader make the decisive play? Only one way to find out.
Interlude[]
Wiz: Makima, the control devil.
Boomstick: Toru, the user of Wonder of U.
Wiz: These two master manipulators are no stranger to manipulating human emotions for their own gain.
Boomstick: But who’s mind-bending powers would outclass the other? Make no mistake, this battle will not be a simple one.
Wiz: It’s about time we cracked open this case between the mother of all Devils and the Bastion of the Rock Humans.
Boomstick: He’s Wiz, and I’m Boomstick
Wiz: And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win… A DEATH BATTLE!
Makima Makes a Dog out of DEATH BATTLE![]
Boomstick: You know, I have a pretty big fear of losing my beer, the thought of all that beautiful booze going to waste makes me shiver.
Wiz: Well then, you better watch yourself then, Boomstick, because the Losing Your Beer Devil is coming for you.
Boomstick: Ahhhh!
Wiz: Devils, the manifestation of human fears, getting stronger the more that they are feared. Devils come in many shapes and forms, and it’s up to the special division devil hunters to take them out.
Boomstick: Enter Denji, the young man with a devil in his heart. The lad is picked up by a smokin’ hot babe, the director of her own division, Makima.
Wiz: Makima takes Denji in and assigns him to be a part of special division 4. There, he manages to live his precious life, the one he’s always wanted. The end!
Boomstick: So, we’ve gone over Makima before… I don’t think we need to worry about spoilers. Makima is the mighty and scary… Control Devil!
Wiz: Well, you could have gone on for longer… But, it’s true. Makima is the manifestation of humanity’s fear of being controlled, which, ironically, she does quite well.

Boomstick: She manipulated the worlds greatest leaders to climb her way to the top, and she’s forced many Devils to make deadly contracts with her.
Wiz: Makima can control the actions of any individual, Devil or human, that she believes to be weaker than her. When she makes contracts with these Devils, she can use their abilities for herself.
Boomstick: With most humans who make contracts with devils, they have to pay some sort of price for that power. But when you’re being mind controlled, you tend to make some pretty unfair deals…

Wiz: And those Devils she controls will alongside her as well, like a pack of dogs trained to attack anything that threatens their owner.
Boomstick: And those contracts aren’t just with devils, she has made plenty of contracts with humans, like the prime minister of Japan, which takes any attack she takes and sends it out to a random Japanese citizen. She’s got over 100 million meat shields for any attack thrown at her!
Wiz: Her powers as a Devil aren’t lost either. She has superhuman strength and speed, comparable to chainsaw man himself. She has enhanced smell, and can manipulate force around her. Commonly, this is used to create a “bang” effect.
Boomstick: She just points the fingah guns and boom! A massive hole is left! Not to mention she can use some poor shmuck as a body bag to crush opponents under her force. Damn, she’s brutal.
Wiz: Of course, Denji was somehow able to defeat her, mainly by eating her. This was considered an act of love, not an attack, so she never recovered. Makima may have tortured him, but he still loved her.
Boomstick: He was a tough one, but Makima always came back. If a devil is killed in hell, they come back to the human world anew. Makima was reborn as Nayuta, and lives with Denji now. What a happy little family!
Wiz: Even if she was taken down by a nobody from nowhere, Makima is a cunning, deadly, and horrifying threat to the entire human race. Long fear her, long live The Control Devil.
Toru Brings Calamity to DEATH BATTLE![]
Boomstick: In the knee deep wall eyes of Morioh, Japan. Josuke Higashikata wakes up.
Wiz: In Morioh, which is different from the small town with the hand-loving killer, we’ll cover that another time, Josuke is awoken with no memories by the young Yasuho Hirose, and adopted into the Higashikata family.
Boomstick: There, not only does he obtain a stand, Soft & Wet, but meets a colorful cast of both normal people and other stand users. Like Kei Nijimura, Rai Mamezuku, and Toru.
Wiz: However, soon the gang of the Higashikatas must approach the Head Doctor of the TG University Hostpital, Satoru Akefu. However, things aren’t as they seem. Turns out, Dr. Akefu here is actually a deadly stand… Wonder of U.
Boomstick: It’s user? Yasuho’s ex, Toru.

Wiz: Toru is actually part of species of lifeforms known as Rock Humans, who have lived in secret amongst humans for millions of years. Toru is also the mastermind behind the Locacaca Organization, which is trying to destribute the Locacaca fruit.
Boomstick: These tasty bad boys will work on somethin’ called Equlivelent Exchange, allowing you to get “something” from the fruit by taking “something” away from someone else. When they lose something of themselves, that thing they lost turns into a rock. Freaky.
Wiz: If you think that’s mortifying, you should see Toru himself. In truth, his Rock Human biology allowed him to live for longer than any human, and Rock Humans never truly develope empathy. They are indifferent to the suffering of others.
Boomstick: They have rocky skins, even though they look like your average everyday guys and gals, and most of them are stand users. Speaking of which, Toru uses the stand Wonder of U, but what does it do?
Wiz: Oh, it only causes random tragedy.
(Pause)
Boomstick: Huh?
Wiz: Well, the entire world is controlled by an invisible force known as the “Flow of Calamity” which controls when random calamities and tragedy happens. Every time you stub your toe, or trip randomly and fall, making you late for work, or a family member gets in a deadly accident, that’s calamity.
Boomstick: Jeez, that’s dark. So, Wonder of U has something to do with this?
Wiz: Worse. All those who try to pursue, OR even think about pursuing Wonder of U, calamity will befall you. If you chase after this stand, or it’s user, or think about it, you will face tragedy. Random accidents on you, your loved ones, your friends, no one, NO ONE, is safe.
(...)
Boomstick: Damn, that’s… Scary.
Wiz: Yeah, it is. Of course, there are rules. The person has to be directly pursuing Wonder of U, or it’s human persona, Akefu, to be effected. They have to be doing it by intention, and not by accident. And Toru seems to control what situations Wonder of U can cause calamity, but other than that, if you are trying to catch up to this stand in any way, you will be targeted.
Boomstick: Shit man, can you ever beat this guy?
Wiz: Sure, if you have a bubble that defies all of reality.
Boomstick: Huh?
Wiz: Don’t worry about that, but Toru was eventually defeated mainly by his old ex girlfriend, Yasuho. Of course, this is without mentioning that Wonder of U can somehow survive WITHOUT TORU.
Boomstick: Wait a minute, that’s not how stands work at all! How can the user be dead but the stand survive???
Wiz: It seems that Toru and Wonder of U are actually separated in their lines of thinking, and can therefore survive on their own.
Boomstick: Wait, but what about that thing Mitsuba saw outside the window, I thought that was Wonder of U’s ability!
Wiz: Oh, yeah, it can create illusions too.
Boomstick: Shit! Toru’s stand seems to do it all, and he may have reigned over the Locacaca organization forever, if Josuke didn’t get in the way.
Wiz: At the end of the day, though, Toru is a deadly and powerful foe, one who must, by all costs, never be pursued.
Pre-DEATH BATTLE![]
Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set and we’ve run the data through all possibilities.
Boomstick: It’s time for a DEATH BATTLE!!
DEATH BATTLE![]
(Opens on a dark alleyway that seems completely devoid of all life. A voice on the radio speaks out.)
Radio: Massive destruction in south Morioh-Cho. Devil unknown, dispatching director.
(As we zoom in on this alleyway, surrounded by debris from some fallen building nearby. The muffled noises of music starts playing. The tube is 90s in feel, reminiscent of the Elvis song “The Wonder of You” and others. We finally see the screen of an mp3 player, which is playing a song. Finally, the face of Toru is seen in a pan up, vibing out with the music in his ears.)
(As the song gets louder, Toru gets more in the zone. Then, he feels a light tap on his shoulder. He opens his eyes to see Makima, dressed in her usual white dress shirt, standing in front of him. Toru slowly lowers his headphones to listen to Makima.)
Toru: Yeah?
Makima: Hello, I’m here with special division devil hunters. I’m looking for…
(Makima looks around, then back at Toru. She seems to be slightly attempting to persuade him.)
Makima: A devil. Have you seen one around here..?
(Toru looks around himself, then back at Makima. He seems to be keeping up the persona of a simple teenager hanging around an alley.)
Toru: Not sure what you mean, miss. But, I’m sure the head doctor could help you, he’s right over there.
(Tory points to his left, and Makima turns her head. She sees Satoru Akefu walking on the other end of the alleyway. His face is not visible, only his hat and scarf. Makima looks back at Toru briefly, before nodding and walking away.)
Makima: Thank you, young man.
Toru: No problem, miss.
(As she walks off, Toru glances at her with a stone cold stare, carefully watching her walk towards Akefu. Then, he slinks away, staying out of continued sight of Makima. When Makima turns her head around briefly to try and see Toru, she realizes the boy has disappeared. Makima is slightly shocked, but continues towards Akefu.)
(Makima gets within 30 km to Akefu before something strange happens. She stops for a moment, and a sign labeled “Ring Master Bar” falls directly in front of her. She is unphased by this, but still ponders.)
Makima: A strange occurrence…
(When the signs falls down, Akefu looks back at Makima, seemingly to check if the sign hit her. She finds this strange, and her eyes glow a bit. For a brief moment, the face of Akefu flashes into Wonder of U, and Makima seems taken aback by this.)
Makima: Stop. I have been ordered to deal with you, so you can either make this easy, or hard.
(Wonder of U turns around to face Makima directly, firmly placing it’s cane in front of it.)
Wonder of U: If you continue to follow me… You will be unable to live a peaceful life…
(Makima almost flinches, but keeps her cool against Wonder of U. She then snaps her fingers and from behind Wonder of U, the Crossbow Hybrid jumps out. Wonder of U doesn’t even look at the devil, and the devil shoots a bolt out of it’s head.)
(Makima smiles, but the bolt just barely misses Wonder of U, ricocheting off the concrete over to a laundry hanger, spins around a shirt, shoots back over to another wall, and finally ricochets back into the Crossbow hybrid’s head, killing them. Makima is amused by this occurrence.)
Makima: Strange. So you have power over fate?
(Wonder of U says nothing, and begins walking into the street. Makima follows, but various air conditioning units, signs, and even a drone all fall on her whilst she chases Wonder of U through the alleyway. She manages to heal all of her damage, and makes her way onto the street.)
Wonder of U: You can still find prosperity.
Makima: Something you will never know.
(Makima raises a finger to fire at Wonder of U, but she trips on a pebble in the ground, and falls over. When she rises back up, she looks actually somewhat upset. Suddenly, a mass of chains surrounds Makima’s waist, and various fiends and devils surround her. Wonder of U remains motionless, but then continues walking.)
Makima: I will personally ensure your funeral.
(The fiends begin surrounding Wonder of U, each suffering some cruel misfortune of calamity. The Longsword and Katana Hybrids try to hit Wonder of U from both sides, but a bird flies into Katana’s face and, in a panic, he stabs Longsword, causing them both to miss. The Flamethrower Hybrid tries to scorch Wonder of U, but a strong wind blows away the fire and it burns up the Bomb Hybrid, causing it to detonate and kill both of them.)
(Whilst this chaos is occurring, Toru leans on a wall nearby and watches, amused by the carnage his stand is causing. Makima manages to notice Toru, and summons the curse devil sword to run after Toru. Toru is too distracted with the slaughter of the fiends and hybrids to notice her, and she attempts to stab into Toru. At the last moment, Toru slightly moves his body, and the sword misses. When it stabs into the wall, Toru looks shocked.)
Makima: It’s you, isn’t it?
(Toru begins running toward Wonder of U, and Makima chases after him. She attempts to send out one of her controlling chains to Toru, but on it’s way, The Whip Hybrid flies in front of it, and gets hit instead. Makima seems frustrated. When Toru and Wonder of U meet up, Makima halts her Devil’s attacks on them. She begins walking to them slowly.)
Toru: I wouldn’t if I were you, all those who pursue me will suffer calamity.
Makima: You… You are the most interesting man I’ve ever met.
Toru: Flattering.
(Makima stops walking and looks into Toru’s eyes, smiling. She seems to be attempting to almost seduce him.)
Makima: You would do fine under my command. And I can give you the life you want.
Toru: You think that’s enough?
Makima: I… I think I need you…
(Makima is trying to get Toru to flinch and give in to her. However, Toru simply gives her a wide eyed look. Makima thinks this means it’s worked.)
Makima: There we go.
Toru: You… You’re like me.
(Makima seems a little confused at first by this statement.)
Toru: You… You don’t feel anything either, do you?
(Makima looks at him blankly for a moment, before an expression of pure petrified horror meets her face. She clenches her fist tightly, and gives a look that sends a clear message in her mind. She can’t just neutralize this threat, he needs to die.)
Makima: I’m sorry.
(Makima summons the Curse Devil’s sword again.)
Makima: But I cannot let you live.
(Toru smiles, and Makima charges towards him. As she does, everything that the universe has to offer to stop her approach falls upon her. Multiple cars try to hit her, many dead birds and debris, and as she gets closer, it gets more extreme. Makima either tanks all of the calamities, or narrowly avoids them using the foresight of the Future Devil.
(At one point, in the distance, the Gun Devil rises and points his weapons at Makima, but Makima throws away the sword, and makes a crushing motion with her hands, killing the Whip Hybrid, and killing the Gun Devil, who stands motionless. Toru seems a little shaken at how close she’s getting, and Wonder of U nods. It begins raining around them, but the raindrops are heavy, and Makima is pulls down to the ground just in front of Toru.)
Toru: Fighting calamity is useless.
(Toru kneels down to Makima, who is being hindered by the raindrops just a few meters away. Toru notes to keep a safe distance.)
Toru: When you are gone, all that will remain of you are dreams and memories. I suppose it’s poetic, really.
(Makima looks at Toru with fury, managing to build up enough strength to point a finger-gun at Toru. Toru smiles at this, but Makima smiles too, which confuses Toru.)
Makima: Bang.
(Within an instant, Toru’s entire right arm is destroyed, and Wonder of U is pushed back in pain. Toru pushes back, and the rain stops. Toru’s wound is nothing but chipped rock. Makima begins getting up, dusting off her clothes and looking at Toru, who reels, back against Makima.)
Makima: I don’t know who you are, but you are anything but human. Your very existence is a threat to me.
(Makima points her finger at Toru yet again.)
Makima: For safety, you must die.
(Makima gets ready to shoot, but realizes that her arms is gone. She looks down, and sees a slab of rock. Makima is completely confused by this, but Toru begins laughing.)
Toru: Safety? Hehehe… Hahahahahaha!
(Toru turns around, holding a bitten Locacaca in his hand, and his arm’s rocky exoskeleton growing back. His arm fully recovers, but he doesn’t hide that it is a rock, and instead continues laughing. Makima looks down at her arm, then back at Toru, and soon enough, a light chuckle forms for her too.)
Makima: Ha… Ha… Hahahahahaha!
(The two begins laughing happily together, seemingly not in hysteria, but in pure joy. Makima wipes the tears from her eyes and observes Toru, smiling. Behind her, the gun Devil’s corpse begins to slowly fall down.)
Makima: Dreams and Memories, huh? That sounds pretty human to me.
(Just as she finishes, the corpse of the Gun Devil falls in front of Toru, completely crushing her. Toru finally stops laughing, and looks around him. After the rain, a beautiful blue sky and rainbow form, and from Toru’s POV, we see a small hornet fly in front of him. As he reaches for it, we pan out to him and Wonder of U, reaching for something that isn’t there. Reaching for a memory.)
Conclusion[]
Boomstick: You know, maybe being an inhuman manipulating demon with unimaginable powers isn’t all that bad, Wiz.
Wiz: Sure, whatever you say Boomstick. This matchup was complicated, beyond complicated even. Makima certainly had more firepower under her belt than Toru. Her various Devil abilities and multiple powers herself would overwhelm any other foe.
Boomstick: And it would, if Wonder of U wasn’t one of the most insane abilities we have ever had on this show! Makima’s goons and control powers were basically nothing to Wonder of U’s calamity.
Wiz: It wasn’t even a question of if Makima would be able to use her chains of control, because she wouldn’t be able to do it against all of Wonder of U’s calamity. Her various abilities and powers just get canceled out by the massive amount of inherent misfortune that she would face.
Boomstick: Calamity can come from damn-near anywhere, too. Though, she could likely predict the calamities with the Future Devil, that doesn’t make the larger ones any less potent.
Wiz: She did have one ace up her sleeve, that being the force manipulation. She could attack the user, Toru, directly without needing to catch up to him. This would be a no-brainer kill, if Toru was a human.
Boomstick: But Toru is a rock human, who’s biology isn’t nearly as fragile as a normal person. Plus, Toru had the Locacaca’s equivalent exchange, which Makima had no counter to.
Wiz: Lastly, Makima’s contract with the prime minister states that any attack on her will be transferred to a random citizen of japan, which usually is devastating, but a calamity is not an attack.
Boomstick: Just like how eating Makima killed her, while not being a direct attack, calamity isn’t targeted at anyone by Toru or Wonder of U, it’s simply fate. Makima likely wouldn’t be able to recover if a calamity completely killed her. Once that happens, it’s over.
Wiz: Though Makima was a terrifying foe with no remorse and even less weaknesses, the overwhelming force of Calamity brought the Control Devil down.
Boomstick: Looks like Makima couldn’t match up to the wonder of calamity. I know, it’s lame.
Wiz: The winner is Toru.
