MCU Thanos vs SMG4 Waluigi is a What If? Death Battle made by Jerryclodman478 until it got adopted by TheVoidofDrawings until it was adopted by Jerryclodman478 again, featuring Thanos (MCU) from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Waluigi (SMG4) from SMG4 in a fight between two muscular, purple-sporting and destructive counterparts to completely different characters.

Description

MCU vs SMG4. In this DEATH BATTLE! lies two malevolent maestros of massacre and maltreatment who are sure to wreck our reality! Donning purple and getting buff for battle, they use their golden weapons to cause immense destruction, but what if they met during their past plans for conquest? Will Thanos make sure 'another one bites the dust', or will Waluigi show his foe what 'rejection' feels like?

Interlude

Wiz: Thanos, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's mad wielder of the Infinity Gauntlet who's dead set on erasing half of the universe...

Boomstick: ...and Waluigi, the SMG4 universe's purple-clad maniac brother to Wario with the power of rejection.

Wiz: Men of conquest, warriors to kill, these two counterparts to entirely-different characters had a common goal, and don't hesitate to eradicate all who stand in their way. But if they encountered one another, which purple-themed powerhouse with an entire army under their command will reign victorious?

Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a DEATH BATTLE!

Trivia

• The connections were done by Cydude.
  • Both are alternative universe version of an pre-existing popular purple antagonist (Thanos and Waluigi). This interpretation takes these characters gives them pretty drastic changes (Thanos' entire motivation and personality being changed and SMG4 Waluigi becoming a major antagonist for a single arc, with him still having these powers well after said arc is done).
  • Both started their journeys/conquest because of an unfortunate circumstance (Thanos' homeworld suffered due to overpopulation and his plan was shunned for sounding monstrous, whereas Waluigi didn't get into Smash and was frequently rejected by society).
  • Both of their primary tools include a golden object of power (Infinity Gaunlet and Staff of Rejection) that allow them to change reality as they see fit.
  • Their respective arcs built these characters up as a major threat, and they actually managed to take out a good chunk of the main cast (Thanos snapped half of the main heroes whereas Waluigi made most of them t-pose). This resulted in many sad scenes.
  • Their primary enemies are a hero who dons red (Mario and Iron Man), and one who wears blue (SMG4 and Cap America).
  • Despite both of their goals being bad and shit, but they have some good in them (Thanos cares for Gamora, and thinks what he is doing is the right thing, Waluigi still had "good" in him, as shown with his reunion with Wario at the end of his arc).
  • Both The Snap and T-Posing were massive memes back in 2018, the year where their main stories happened.
  • Their stories would change their respective franchises forever (Endgame is often considered to be the end of an era for the MCU, The Waluigi Arc led way for SMG4 to take a more serious direction with its characters and story).
