Description[]

Super Mario Bros. vs Dragon Ball! The brothers of two iconic heroes cross paths in this Death Battle, it's Luigi vs Raditz! The two enter the battlefield in a family fight!

Intro[]

(Cue ~ Death Battle - Wiz and Boomstick)

Wiz: The main heroes have a brother on their side, but maybe the one is good and the one is evil! Right?

Boomstick: Yes they do! These two iconic and well known characters Mario and Goku do have a brother! Cool concept to have a brother in character history, right?

Wiz: Yes and no, sometimes a story could go with the brother being good or evil but we don't talk about that yet. There's going to be one strong and brave hero to the rescue! Later they become famous in all of Japanese history!

Boomstick: Luigi, the brother of Super Mario!

Wiz: And Raditz, the brother of Son Goku!

Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skill to find out who would win a Death Battle...

Luigi[]

(Cue ~ Rosalina's Storybook - Super Mario Galaxy)

Wiz: Long ago.... A very long time ago.... Storks were delivering babies to peoples' houses, especially these two special baby brothers Mario and Luigi.... But when Kamek had come under attack, he managed to kidnap Luigi and Mario fell onto Yoshi's Island. The iconic hero was discovered by a horde of Yoshi's and they helped him get Luigi back by defeating the almighty Baby Bowser.

Boomstick: I don't think anybody talks about that, y'know? Getting dropped on some island filled with dinosaurs where ya have to adventure with Yoshi and Baby Mario to rescue Luigi... Yeah that was one peaceful morning at some point but ended up getting screwed over by Kamek. But eh, the end you have the happy ending and get delivered to your parents...? Wait who are they?

Wiz: No idea, but if you know; spending your days working as a plumber and fixing pipes for people in Brooklyn.... And you were born as one of the 7 Star Children, that's what we'd talk about! You're actually a pure child to be a special one, yeah raised to be a hero and go on adventures with your older brother, despite being the sidekick. You're rocking in on some action!

Boomstick: Yeah yeah yeah, off that now! Luigi is that one sidekick who's the popular brother in all of video game history, but he's also a mastermind and an intelligent ghost buster! Interesting to know you have your own series about exploring in a haunted mansion and catchin' some ghosts! *gulp* You're player 2 and also AWESOME!

Wiz: Come to think of it, Luigi being Mario's sibling: I feel like he's getting nothing from Mario or anything from the princess! But he ends up winning some haunted mansion in a contest he did NOT even enter...okay that's enough chatter. Luigi should AT LEAST get credit 'cause he's also helping out to defeat Bowser, save Peach and stuff.

Boomstick: GIVE YOUR DAMN BROTHER CREDIT, MARIO!!!! *sigh* okay let's begin studying Luigi's items, arsenal, power ups and weapons! I wonder what this wonderful green sidekick wields inside of his pockets!

POWER UPS[]

Super Mushroom: Makes Luigi larger, grants ability to break Brick Blocks.
Fire Flower: Turns Luigi into his Fire form.
Ice Flower: Turns Luigi into his Ice form to throw iceballs, which freezes enemies, and freezes water/lava.
Super Star: Turns Luigi temporarily invincible.
Cape Feather: Makes Luigi wear a cape, making him fall down slower and reflect projectiles.
Rock Mushroom: Gives Luigi the ability to encase himself in a boulder.
Boo Mushroom: Turns Luigi into a ghost.
Bee Mushroom: Turns Luigi into a bee.
Mega Mushroom: Turns Luigi temporarily into a giant.
Cloud Flower: Turns Luigi into his cloud form, allowing him to summon clouds.
Double Cherry: Gives Luigi another copy of himself.

Boomerang Flower: Gives Luigi Boomerang Bro abilities.
Power Flower: Turns Luigi into Vanish Luigi.
Penguin Suit: Turns Luigi into Penguin Luigi.
Super Acorn: Grants Luigi his Flying Squirrel form.
Rainbow Star: Turns Luigi into Rainbow Luigi.

WEAPONARY[]

Ultra Hammer: Crushes ALMOST anything and an item used for shattering rocks, and even battle!
Poltergust: Vacuums up ghosts and humans, can shoot fire, ice and water, has different nozzles for each situation, has a flashlight and a power surge to stun foes, and carries Gooigi inside.

TECHNIQUES[]

Green Missile: After charging up, he horizontally launches himself while exploding his target on contact.
Luigi Cyclone: Luigi starts spinning in a horizontal fashion, knocking any near opponent away.
Super Jump Punch: Luigi performs a jump that delivers a powerful flaming uppercut in its initiation.
Thunderhand: Taught by the Thunder God. Luigi's gathers lightning in his hand and discharges it at his target for critical damage. This ability can also lower defense and attack power.
Negative Zone: Luigi creates a zone with varying negative effects to his opponents such as slowing down, continuous damage, or falling asleep.
Ground Pound: Luigi jumps and crushed enemies under his might.

(Cue ~ Luigi's Mansion Main Theme - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

Boomstick: For Luigi, he's cowardly but actually smart at the same time. You know? Being able to find your way through some dark haunted mansion and rescue your brother from an evil ghost king! You must find your brother through the gloomy nights of Halloween, give Luigi back his brother he won't give up! I just know that....

Wiz: Yeah but Luigi's feats are VERY outstanding! He's survived a supernova explosion, lifted up a ten million pound castle, assisted Mario on many adventures and help rescue Peach.. He's also defeated enemies like King Boo and Bowser on many marvelous adventures! Yeahaaa you sure do need a green plumber under your shadow!

Boomstick: There's nothing else to say but... LUIGI IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME! SHUT THE HELL UP NINTENDO AND GIVE LUIGI ANOTHER YEAR IN 2023... HE REALLY DESERVES ANOTHER "YEAR OF LUIGI".... Yeah maybe another spin-off game for the Eternal Understudy! Maybe one day he'll get a piece of Princess Daisy!

Wiz: *sighs* In your dreams Boomstick... He may confess his feelings to Daisy in another castle. Definitely not Peach, that's for sure. Of course he's afraid of the dark, but don't underestimate him for that!

Boomstick: After all, he should get credit for what he has accomplished throughout the years!

Wiz: Obviously.

Boomstick: Don't try to mess with the King of Second Bananas!

Luigi: Let's a go!

Raditz[]

(Cue ~ Dragon Soul - Dragon Ball Z Kai)

Wiz: Once upon a time.... A planet known as Planet Vegeta was the home for the alien race; Saiyans... They were a race of aliens that traveled around the galaxy and fought! They were also naturally aggressive warrior race who were supposedly striving to be the strongest in the universe. Spending your days fighting during your childhood, and conquering planets doesn't seem right for a human, but maybe for an alien.

Boomstick: They're aliens with monkey tails, and have some power to transform into a huge ape! Something to say, the Saiyans didn't get very far due to their planet being blown up by the evil Emperor Frieza.. But there were some Saiyan survivors! Although the one named Son Goku, aka Kakarot, was sent to earth and the other Saiyans were apart of the Frieza Force actually.

Wiz: The ones we knew were Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz. Lemme say this, years later your "older brother" comes to earth to kill you, but you don't seem to know who your real "brother" was! Well as you may know, we're concentrating on Raditz today. Yeah, we mean he was sent to earth and on his way to recruit Goku into the Frieza Force. Sadly, Goku didn't remember his brother.

Boomstick: Yeah I understand being hit on the head and losing your whole entire memory. But Raditz on the other hand, he still knew his Saiyan brother as "Kakarot" and not "Goku." However, it's surprising that he knew Goku was on earth. The main hero was shocked that he had an older brother... But yeah Saiyans are awesome to know that they'd raise a child and send them out to another planet, without the big brother.

Wiz: Raditz may possess some skills like his brother can, but he can't go Super Saiyan. He can also manipulate Ki Blasts and fight with his fists well! Since he's getting revived (No not really) But to fight another person that is not Goku.... I think I've said enough...Ahem!

Boomstick: Anyway, onto Raditz's powers and abilities!

(Cue ~ Raditz's Theme - Dragon Ball Z)

ABILITIES[]

Ki Blast: The most basic form of energy wave.
Saturday Crush: Raditz holds his right hand high in the air and forms a pink energy sphere that he fires off at the opponent, inflicting a great amount of damage.
Saturday Crash: First, Raditz raises back to his right upper side and forms a reddish-pink energy sphere. He then brings his hand together with the other in front of him and fires a bigger and more powerful Saturday Crush at the opponent, inflicting a massive amount of damage.
Shining Friday: Raditz raises his hand and charges purple and orange electricity. He then forms the electricity in a large, purplish-pink energy sphere and strikes the opponent with it at close range, inflicting a large amount of damage
Begone!: Raditz raises his hand up in the air, and creates a small blue and white energy sphere. Then, he fires it at his opponent in the form of a large energy wave, inflicting a great amount of damage.
Double Sunday: Raditz raises both of his arms up and charges two purple energy spheres. He then brings his hands forward and fires the energy spheres in the form of two energy waves at the opponent, inflicting a great amount of damage.
Exciting Year: First, Raditz kicks the opponent into the air. Then, he punches and kicks them. Finally, he proceeds to let loose a barrage of punches and kicks to knock the target down to the ground.
Dynamite Monday: Raditz charges up to his opponent and attacks with a vicious combo attack comprised of punches and kicks, which can then be extended into a multitude of punches before finishing it with a roundhouse kick that knocks the opponent to the ground, inflicting a high amount of damage.
Fire Somersault: First, Raditz jumps into the air and spins to gather flaming ki around his body. Then, he rams into the opponent, ensuring burning agony.
Diving Elbow Smash: Raditz jumps into the air while focusing ki into his elbow. Then, he flies down and smashes the opponent's skull with his elbow, inflicting a good amount of damage.

EQUIPMENT[]

Scouter: Like most Saiyans, Raditz uses a Scouter to detect and read power levels. However he like most members of the Frieza Force, he tends to rely too much on his Scouter readings causing him to get overconfident and assumes his Scouter is broken when confronted by his brother, nephew, and Piccolo's ability to raise their power levels an ability he himself is apparently unfamiliar with. This lead to him underestimating his opponents until it was too late. However his Scouter also acts as a communicator which is linked with his follow Saiyans Scouters allowing Vegeta and Nappa to learn of Raditz's death, his brother's refusal to join his fellow Saiyans, and the existence of the Dragon Balls. Like all Scouters used by the Frieza Force, it is unable to detect Godly ki. Raditz's Scouter would later be taken by Bulma and fixed though it was eventually destroyed while reading Goku's rapidly raising power level during his later battle against the Saiyans. In the Xenoverse series, Raditz's Scouter model is called Scouter (Green)
Saibamen Set: Saibamen were originally developed by a Saiyan scientist as weaponized lifeforms that could be grown on the battlefield using the Saibamen Set which is a bottle containing seeds and a liquid used to rapidly grow the Saibamen once planted.

(Cue ~ Vegeta Powers Up - Dragon Ball Z)

Boomstick: Although I don't have much to say about Raditz... He didn't get very far.

Wiz: Yeah, like Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon was the only opportunity to kill him. Y'know, Goku ended up sacrificing himself to kill his own big brother to save earth. I mean Raditz, he's a great fighter and all but its creepy for him to suddenly appear on earth and meet Goku as his "secret brother" the famous Kakarot never knew of....

Boomstick: Raditz the Runt has to go conquer the earth for the Saiyans. The planet is still thriving with life and we get that he's desperate to destroy the planet with ease. ....THE ENEMY IS GOKU'S BROTHER?!

Wiz: Yeah... Let's just hope Goku and Raditz's parents will find a way to come back.

Boomstick: Well, this cocky runt is gonna have to pull through a Death Battle!

Raditz: This should be good...

Intermission[]

Wiz: Alright the combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all!

Boomstick: I'm gonna get a beer to enjoy the show.

Wiz: Yeah, ok.

Boomstick: IT'S TIME FOR A DEAAAAAAATTTTTHHHHH BAAAAATTTTTTTLEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Death Battle[]

Location: Mushroom Kingdom - Super Mario Bros.

(Cue ~ Super Bell Hill - Super Mario 3D World)

The scene opened in the Mushroom Kingdom, where Luigi was off on an adventure to rescue the Princess. "I'm-a coming princess, do not worry because Luigi is on the way!" Luigi announced, running through the grassy fields of the Mushroom Kingdom. He then begun jumping on nearby Goombas and Koopa Troopas.

Toadsworth ran out of Peach's Castle, having something to say. "MASTER LUIGI!" Toadsworth called out, and Luigi turned around. "Oh hello Toadsworth, what's up?" Luigi asked. "I'm worried about the princess, but the bad thing is.... There's a strange sound rumbling." Toadsworth replied. "Please go check it out, Master Luigi!"

"I got your back." Luigi said, running off to find where that heavy sound was coming from. When Luigi stopped in the spot, he looked up to see a Space Pod descending from outer space into the fields of the Mushroom Kingdom. When the pod landed...

(Music cut)

CRASH!

(Cue ~ Tension - Super Mario Galaxy)

Luigi looked down confusedly. "What the heck is that, one of Bowser's things?" Luigi wondered, he then decided to walk down to the metallic space pod. The open hatch opened, and a man with a tail, long hair, and green scouter flew out of the space pod. Raditz looked around, he was in the Mushroom Kingdom.

"So this planet is still thriving with life.... DAMNIT KAKAROT!" Raditz yelled out. "Damn you.....Kakarot..." When Raditz finished his speaking, his scouter detected a power level of 500. "Where's that power level coming from?" He asked himself, picking up a high power level from Luigi, who was nearby. Raditz then teleported in front of Luigi. "Uhh...hi?" Luigi greeted.

"TELL ME WHERE KAKAROT IS!" Raditz snarled, pulling Luigi by the overalls. "I'm sorry sir, but I do not know who this "Kakarot" person is!" Luigi responded, and the runt slammed the green plumber on the ground. "Kakarot can wait.... I will be happy enough to blow up your home planet green man...." Raditz insisted, as he threatened to blow up the entire Mushroom Kingdom. "I WILL NOT LET THAT HAPPEN!" Luigi demanded, and threw a punch towards the evil Saiyan.

"You will GET NO MERCY FROM ME!"

(Cue ~ Never Let Up! Mario & Luigi Dream Team)

FIGHT!

Raditz teleported, avoiding Luigi's second punch. "Come at ME!" Raditz taunted, unleashing a huge energy blast. The green plumber connected with a Luigi Cyclone and shrugged the blast off, Luigi then proceeded to jump high into the air and lunged down with a Ground Pound to crush Raditz to the ground. "This should be a good fight..." Raditz remarked, blasting the King of Second Bananas into a tree. "Saturday Crush!" The evil Saiyan demanded, firing off a pink energy sphere at Luigi. "Oh no!" Luigi exclaimed, pulling out his Ultra Hammer and hammering away the energy sphere, causing it to hit Raditz on contact. The elder son of Bardock was sent back flying across the plains, tripping over his legs.

"Listen..." Raditz began, firing a volley of Ki. Luigi equipped his Fire Flower and launched a barrage of fireballs at the evil Saiyan, colliding with his Ki attacks. Fireballs and Ki meet one-another, leaving a smoke screen. Luigi then launched himself towards Raditz with the Green Missile, blasting the Saiyan back into a brick wall. Raditz charged at Luigi with a Dynamite Monday, throwing a barrage of punches and kicks on the Eternal Understudy. "Back off!" Luigi exclaimed, he then hit Raditz with a burst of fire, creating a massive explosion, and then punched Raditz several times with his own flame punches. Raditz put his hand in front of Luigi's face, firing out a Ki Blast powerful enough to blow Luigi away.

Luigi immediately lunged at Raditz with another Green Missile, this time striking Goku's older bother in the stomach. "Begone, you terrible monster!" The green plumber then proceeded to jump high in the air, using a Ground Pound to crush Raditz beneath. The evil Saiyan teleported in the air, charging up the Saturday Crash. "SATURDAY CRASH!" Raditz cried out, sending a giant reddish-pink sphere at Luigi, who then got blown away by an explosion. Luigi then connected with a Super Jump Punch, launching Raditz into the air so high, he'd never come back down.

(Cue ~ Masked Dedede - Kirby Triple Deluxe)

As Raditz descended down, Luigi rummaged through his pockets and pulled out his Rock Mushroom, equipping his Rock Suit and curling up into a ball. When Raditz picked himself up, Luigi was rolling at high speeds and crashed into the evil Saiyan, causing him to scream in pain. "AAAHHHH...GET OFF YOU!" Raditz snarled, firing off another Saturday Crush and knocking Luigi out of his power up, sending him crashing into a nearby Toad Town.

CRASH!

Luigi recovered, allowing Raditz to launch Ki Blasts. The green plumber executed another Luigi Cyclone, washing away the energy blasts. "How are you doing that?!!!" Raditz demanded to know, and Luigi took out his Cape Feather and took flight into the air. Raditz followed up by teleporting himself in front of Luigi, throwing an axe handle down on his back. Luigi responded by colliding punches with Raditz, the two traded punches on contact before getting separated.

The two landed and continued their fight.

(Cue ~ The Final Antasma Battle - Mario & Luigi Dream Team)

Luigi equipped his Ice Flower, granting himself ice powers. With Raditz charging up Ki, he generated two energy spheres to his hands and hurled them down, leaving Ice Luigi to threw balls of ice. "Why are you countering?" Raditz gritted his teeth. "Begone!" The evil Saiyan remarked, firing a small blue and white energy sphere. Luigi countered with a bunch of balls of ice, but the Begone! technique overpowered him and blasted Luigi. The green plumber blocked a punch from Raditz, and responded by hitting him with a Green Missile.

Luigi switched power ups to the Red Star, transforming into his Flying Form.

(Cue ~ Super Mario Galaxy - Red Star)

Luigi then took flight into the air. "I'm ready." Raditz called out, he then fired a numerous of Ki Blasts, and Luigi countered with his Ultra Hammer. An annoyed Raditz tried to use a Saturday Crash, but instead Luigi Ground Pounded on his head, knocking Raditz down into the Mushroom Kingdom fields.

Raditz fired off a huge blast of energy, leaving Luigi to counter with his Ultra Hammer.

(Music cut)

Soon, the Red Star wore off and Luigi made a landing, this time revealing his Super Star in his hand. "LET'S A GO!" Luigi exclaimed as he equipped his star, coating himself with a rainbow light.

(Cue ~ Starman - Super Mario 3D World)

Raditz then surrounded himself with flaming Ki, using the Fire Somersault technique. Luigi then ran towards Raditz with high speed, hitting him with several punches. The flaming Ki exploded, leaving Luigi unharmed thanks to his star aura. The green plumber used a Green Missile to flush Raditz out of the way.

Luigi used another Super Jump Punch, this time launching Raditz into the sky high. Luigi launched himself into the air and used a Ground Pound on the evil Saiyan, taking him down to the ground with ease. When the star wore off, Luigi was no longer invincible.

(Cue ~ My Hero Academia - Jet Set Run)

"What the hell was that magic rainbo-" Raditz was cut from saying the line because Luigi hit him with a powerful Green Missile. The evil Saiyan executed an Execiting Year and threw Luigi into the hair. Next, he threw a barrage of punches and kicks. Luigi screamed in pain, letting out his pain. He then threw a hard punch on Raditz's chest. Luigi landed as he revealed the Poltergust, turning it on and vacuuming Raditz. "Oh please, CLEANING SUPPLIES!?" Raditz jeered rudely, countering with a mean Saturday Crash.

When Luigi sucked the blasts into the Poltergust, he ejected them back at Raditz, hitting him upon the head. Raditz formed electricity into his hand and unleashed the Shining Friday, placing his hand on Luigi's head.

SHOOOOOOOCCCCCKKKKKKKKK!

"AAAAAHHHHHH!------"

Luigi then tried to suck Raditz into the Poltergust, but instead he was forced to put it away and throw his fists on the evil Saiyan. Luigi quickly jabbed into Raditz with a nasty punch, following up with a Green Missile.

Raditz pushed the King of Second Bananas away, launching a Saturday Crush. Luigi was done....? Raditz assumed. "Victory is mine!" Raditz assumed, and then electricity began surrounded Luigi, using the power of his Thunderhand.

Luigi got back up, covered with electricity. "I'MMA COMING FOR YA, ALIEN!"

(Cue ~ The Grand Finale - Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story)

"What.... I THOUGHT I KILLED YOU FOR GOOD?!" Raditz said, repelling Luigi away with a Dynamite Monday. The green plumber generated electricity to his hands and pummeled Raditz against a wall, shocking him instantly. "Agggggg---aaaaa--aaa!" Raditz screamed as he was being electrocuted, the evil Saiyan then elbowed Luigi in the ribs and followed up with a powerful Saturday Crash. Luigi launched himself into Raditz with the Luigi Cyclone, kicking him into several bricks.

As Raditz looked for another Fire Somersault, he surrounded himself with flaming Ki and burst out an explosion on Luigi, causing him to fly back a few inches of the field. Raditz then launched several Ki Blasts from his hands like a shotgun, stunning Luigi in place. The green plumber was able to surround himself with a whole lot of electricity. While a force of electricity appeared, Raditz tried to use the Diving Elbow Smash but he got shocked badly.

SHOCK!

"SAIYANS...ARE MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU HUMANS!" Raditz mumbled, firing off two Ki Blasts from the Saturday Crash. Luigi sidestepped to the other direction and blew Raditz away with a bolt of electricity from his fingertip, Raditz could NOT handle the pain of lightning! The runt had launched a confident Double Sunday, this time Luigi dodged with a giant leap.

Luigi then slammed Raditz under the chin with a powerful Super Jump Punch that launched him out of the air. Raditz surrounded himself with energy and fired down a volley of Ki Blasts, blowing Luigi out of the way and the green plumber reacted to this, generating lots of lightning to his body and lunging at Raditz with the Green Missile.

When Raditz crashed into a hard wall, Luigi electrocuted him several times on impact with the Thunderhand. "Take that, you alien!" Luigi demanded, this time sending a bolt of electricity directly on Raditz. As Bardock's eldest son was stunned by the electricity, Luigi delivered a kick to the Saiyan's head and grabbed his Ultra Hammer, crushing Raditz under his might and shattering his skull. With Raditz dead, Luigi uncovered himself from the electricity and walked back to the nearest Mushroom Town.

"Luigi's number 1! That teaches you to NEVER mess with the Mushroom Kingdom!" Luigi concluded.

(Music stops)

K.O.!

Luigi was sighted by Princess Peach, who gave him a cake for defeating Raditz. The Saiyan's corpse blew away with the wind, disintegrating into several ashes from the lightning.

Results[]

(Cue ~ Staff Credits - Luigi's Mansion)

Boomstick: Bro, THAT WAS EPIC, Raditz got crushed!

Wiz: Yes, he certainly did. And as you probably expected Raditz to come out on top... You know, Dragon Ball being overpowered and stuff. This time, Luigi takes the victory! But who knew why? Let's explain! Luigi has many advantages over Raditz, despite being more powerful than Mario. While Raditz did have the greatest fightning abilities out there, Luigi's power ups and arsenal were too much for the evil Saiyan!

Boomstick: It was obvious that Luigi was gonna win this one, since he's more powerful and his durability is INSANE! While we give the green plumber this victory, it's sad to say that Raditz loses badly. Luigi outclasses Bardock's eldest son in many ways, Raditz may not be able to go Super Saiyan... But he is fast enough for being a Saiyan, though!

Wiz: *sigh* Yeah.... Luigi has this one in the bag because he had many power ups on hand. While we focus on the certain power ups, they will be able to overpower Raditz in many categories which made Luigi way tooooo tough for him! Luigi being able to lift up a huge castle, survive a blackhole, jump higher than Mario, and use electricity manipulation. This puts him on a higher level, most of Luigi's power ups countered Raditz's ki attacks.

Boomstick: There was nothing for Raditz to put Luigi down for good, I mean Raditz was able to tank powerful ki blasts from early Saiyan Saga Piccolo and a full-powered Kamehameha from early Saiyan Saga Goku....
