Takanuva (Vrokorta)[]
Vrokorta: In the time before time, the world was ruled by almighty creators known as the Great Beings.
Sphere Robot: Too bad for them, they were actually pretty sucky rulers, & only cared about creating new things. So, they imbued 6 beings with the power of the elements to rule over the planet's population while they do research.
Vrokorta: But these guys were also sucky rulers, and short story shorter, the planet was shattered into 3 pieces in a war for power. However, the Great Beings, having foreseen this event, had an Earth-sized robot built so they could escape before the destruction. Luckily they didn't plan to abandon their people, they were going to use their massive robot to repair it.
Sphere Robot: Until then though, they had to establish all its functions, & make sure the beings who maintained it had places to live. Speaking of maintenance workers, one of these was an Av-Matoran named Takua. He, like the others, lived in Karda Nui after helping to build the robot.
Vrokorta: But Matoran weren't the only ones living in this world. Groups like the Brotherhood of Makuta & the order of Mata Nui also had parts to play within the robot. Since the Makuta were beings of darkness, & the Av-Matoran beings of light, the Order of Mata Nui kidnapped & brainwashed several Av-Matoran & spread them around the world so that if the Makuta would turn against them world & destroy the Av-Matoran, there would still be some left to combat them.
Sphere Robot: Good thing they did, cause the Makuta totally turned on the universe.
Vrokorta: One of the Matoran that were taken was of course Takua, who was placed in the city of Metru Nui under the guise of a Ta-Matoran.
Sphere Robot: He lived a pretty normal life, building tools, selling wares, exploring when he was supposed to be working, all while being watched by robot police officers. Yup, totally normal.
Vrokorta: The normal life lasted for some 59,000 years before Teridax, the leader of the rebellious Makuta, attacked Metru Nui. He trapped & incapacitated all the Matoran, & absorbed the city's power supply. That may sound pretty basic, but Metru Nui was actually the brain of the giant robot, & damaging it caused the robot to crash land on a planet covered in water, and its pilot, the Great Spirit, was put to sleep.
Sphere Robot: Many adventures ensued to save the Matoran, & they were finally brought to a new home, an island named after their Great Spirit, Mata Nui.
Vrokorta: Yeah, so Takua was back in business, & by business I mean goofing off cause he can never sit still & be normal, not surprising considering he's a Matoran of light living with a bunch of regular Matoran.
Sphere Robot: At the very least, he did make friends with the Matoran Jaller, who accompanied him on one of his most important quests ever.
Vrokorta: While exploring like a lunatic, Takua found an important artifact, a mask with a radiant glow. Feeling that he was too irresponsible for it, he gave the mask to his buddy, even though Takua was the one destined to have it. This put Jaller in position as the herald of the Toa of Light, & had to go on a journey to bring this Toa about. Of course, he brought Takua with him.
Sphere Robot: But Teridax wasn't gonna let things go so easily. He manipulated Takua into abandoning his friend so he could kill him. After all, he is the true herald, & without him, there will be no Toa of Light.
Vrokorta: Takua realized this, & finally chose to take responsibility, only for Jaller to sacrifice himself to save him.
Sphere Robot: It was at this time that Takua finally new what he needed to do, what his purpose was. He donned the mask, & he became the Toa of Light, now known as Takanuva.
Vrokorta: With his power over light, Takanuva challenged Teridax. Takanuva didn't fare too well, at least, not until he swapped masks with the Makuta, trading their powers of light & darkness. The effect was so great, that they both fell into Energized Protodermis, which had the power to enhance or destroy anything that touched it.
Sphere Robot: Including that planet we mentioned earlier. Yeah, that war for power was to get this stuff.
Vrokorta: Luckily, fate did not want these beings dead, & the protodermis merged them into a stronger being. With their new power, they opened the path back to Metru Nui so Mata Nui could be awakened & the world could be saved.
Sphere Robot: But first, he used his energy to revive his fallen friend Jaller. With his destiny complete, Takutanuva split back into his former halves, & they were crushed by the massive door between both lands. Takanuva had died.
Vrokorta: Not for long, he got resurrected by plot convenience, one of the few things explained in the grand lore of Bionicle.
Sphere Robot: Takutanuva's destiny may have been achieved, but Takanuva's had just begun. Just what was lie in store for him in the future? Guard duty.
Vrokorta: Yeah, Takanuva kind of did nothing for a while, but all that changed pretty quickly.
Sphere Robot: As the Toa Nuva, Takanuva's team, were travelling to Karda Nui, Takanuva was corrupted by shadows, & was sent on a mission by the Order of Mata Nui to help them.
Vrokorta: Not so easy when your means of transport is a broken mask that makes portals. After a series of terrifying adventures through alternate dimensions that offered our hero personal growth, Takanuva rejoined the Toa Nuva & warned them of the dangers in Karda Nui, as well as helped them to achieve their mission by fighting enemy Makuta & saving Matoran that had also been corrupted by darkness.
Sphere Robot: Thanks to the efforts of the Toa, the Great Spirit Mata Nui was finally awakened... kind of.
Vrokorta: Yeah Teridax stole Mata Nui's giant robot body & shot him into space. The Toa's mission backfired & now the greatest evil controlled their world.
Sphere Robot: But it wasn't over. Some days or months later, Teridax found out that Mata Nui was still alive, & went to finish the job. As Teridax fought Mata Nui, Takanuva & his allies escaped the planet-sized robot to help beat him. Thanks to the efforts of Takanuva, Toa Tahu was able to don the Golden Armor & slay all of Teridax's minions, leaving the evil leader just weak enough to have a planet slammed into his head, ending his reign, & his life.
Vrokorta: For being such an important Toa, Takanuva sure doesn't do much.
Sphere Robot: That may be true, but he's still the one & only Toa of Light, giving him powers like no other.
Vrokorta: That's true. With his power over light, he's capable of firing super-heated lasers that can cut through metal, blinding enemies with flashes of light, absorbing light to darken the area, & even creating light constructs like Green Lantern.
Sphere Robot: Outside of combat, he can use his light manipulation to change people's perception of color, as well as create holograms to mislead enemies.
Vrokorta: He also has a small degree of transmutation, being capable of turning balls of mercury or darkness into balls of light.
Sphere Robot: Plus, as a Toa, he should be fairly acrobatic, & have enough stamina to stay active for days without rest, if not fight for a month. Speaking of fighting, in combat Takanuva wields the Twin Light Staffs, which can channel his power over light, or be used to fight at melee range.
Vrokorta: Takanuva is strong enough to fight Rahkshi, who could match the Toa Nuva, who themselves are empowered beyond their base Toa Mata forms. In their Mata forms, the Toa could fight Bohrok capable of turning mountain ranges to magma. Considering Bohrok travel in groups, I'll assume a single Bohrok can melt a single mountain. Assuming a minimum volume of 7.59e8 cubic meters, it'd take about 977 Megatons of TNT to melt a single mountain. For consistency, Pahrak can pulverize mountains, Pohatu & Onua can destroy mountains, & Nuhvok & Toa of earth can create earthquakes.
Sphere Robot: Heck, there was one time when Pohatu Nuva shattered a mountain-sized stalactite that survived a fall of roughly 200mi. If our size estimations are correct, the energy the stalactite withstood is equivalent to almost 13 Gigatons of TNT, & Pohatu shattered it.
Vrokorta: But that's not all. By unleashing all of his elemental energies at once, Takanuva can output enough energy to destroy a city 65.2 kilometers long, & even damage areas beyond it. As calculated here, that'd equate to 22 Gigatons of TNT, though it takes all of his energy to do it, & leaves him exhausted.
Sphere Robot: As for lifting strength, it's outright stated that Toa can lift over one ton, but that's far from what Takanuva's capable of. Toa like Nuju can topple a pillar of ice weighing over 10,000 tonnes. Since he toppled it as opposed to lifting it, we'll assume his lifting strength is half the weight, that's over 5,000 tonnes. Furthermore, Gali can flip a Muaka, which is basically a giant cyborg tiger. And if you thought this was all too high-end, just look what an above average Toa can do.
Vrokorta: Onewa performed the same feat as Nuju, but instead of a pillar of ice, he toppled a pillar of stone that weighed almost 27,000 tonnes, & Pohatu kicked a boulder with a force of 23,000 tonnes. That's not to mention the one statement in a board game that claims Pohatu can move mountains (kind of an outlier, but it really makes the 5,000 tonnes look simple doesn't it?).
Sphere Robot: Moving on to speed, just about everyone in this verse can keep up with lightning, whether it's Rahkshi lightning, chain lightning, or literal sentient lightning bolts. Takanuva should be no slower. There's also the fact that Takanuva wields light, which moves at speeds over 299 million meters per second. He can also keep up with Makuta that can react to his light attacks, which should put him around 28% the speed of light (just a quick estimation using calcs I've made myself & seen from others).
Vrokorta: But even this one of a kind Toa shares the same weaknesses as his allies. If he loses his mask, his power is cut in half, leaving him extremely weakened. Plus, he has to maintain focus to utilize his powers, a weakness of all Bionicle characters. If the opponent breaks his focus, the effects of his abilities will wear off.
Sphere Robot: But you can rest assured that the Toa of Light will shine goodness on the world, & not even death or darkness will stop him.
