The power of the shield alongside a heroic nature is what makes today’s combatants special. Who will win, this heroic battle? Will Captain America the embodiment of the American spirit outfight Link the hero of time, or will he cut America down to size?
Interlude[]
Nero: A long time ago, man discovered what they did best. Killing each other and they developed weapons each more powerful then the next. Man also discovered they didn't have to fight naked and developed means of protections, like armor and more importantly the protective shield. Today's fighters utilize their shields to the maximum potential.
Phoenix Wright: Like Link the Hero of Time and Hyrule
Gerona: And Captain America the first Avenger.
Nero: I'm Nero and they're Phoenix and Gerona and we analyze the fighters, skills, sources, weapons, abilities, and feats to understand who would win a Death Battle
Link[]
N: In the peaceful land of Hyrule...wait Hyrule ain't peaceful. It's always getting attacked by green skinned elf eared evil wizards, a moon with a disturbing face, or whatever Calamity Ganon is. Seriously who considers this place peaceful? They regularly lose their monarch to an evil king. If I lived in Hyrule I would move out.
P: Anyway the people of Hyrule needed a hero. Someone who could stop the Powers of Evil and bring balance to the force. And that hero was an ordinary boy named Link.
N: WAIT HOW OLD IS LINK? HOW OLD IS ZELDA?
G: It varies by the incarnation and game, sometimes Link is as young as 9 other times he's around 17. Zelda does too, normally she's around his age, but in Twilight Princess Zelda is 20 and Link is 17.
N: Good, and they never really seem to be more than friends and at worse Link may get a kiss. For a moment I thought we would need Chris Hansen. Anyways Link was an ordinary boy who would be the chosen one. Link had to go on an amazing adventure to take Zelda back from the evil king Ganondorf.
P: And he succeeded and he has time and time again. Link goes on numerous adventures to stop the forces and evil, sometimes turning into a child. Or a weird nut creature. Other times Link goes to sleep for hundreds of years and Hyrule has gone to shit.
N: Yeah they are way too dependent on this elf lookalike hero. Another reason to move out of Hyrule. Come on why even stay there? Sure there's a lot of rupees but is it really worth it? However, the real estate must be cheap. I don't think housing will be expensive in a country where
P: Nero, we shouldn't be discussing real estate. Though it would be nice to have a bigger apartment.
G: Weird I thought you slept in the law firm Phoenix?
P: I DON"T. Alright maybe I do hehehe.
N: ANYWAY! Link set out with only the clothes on his back and the Mastersword obtained from a lonely old man to slay Ganondorf and take back Zelda. And he did it succesfully further cementing Link's title as the Hero of Time.
G: Since that adventure, Link went on many more and time and time again he has saved the day. From a mask wearing mischief maker and the sentient moon to Calamity Ganon, Link will save the day. He even fought himself.
Captain America[]
N: It's World War 2, the Nazis are trying to take over the world alongsides Italy and Japan. Alright we all know our world history and what happened in World War II and I don't have to explain it right?
P: What's World War 2?
N: (groans before speaking fast) IN layman's terms after World War I, Germany was screwed and in financial depression, Italy wanted more land, and Japan felt left out. So Hitler takes over and blames the Jews and turns Germany to Nazi Germany and works on taking over the world for Lebansraum and Aryan superiority which is bogus. Mussilini takes over Italy and Japan becomes an empire. Aggression increases in Europe with Nazi Germany being the biggest threat so everyone tries to appease the country. But it attacks Poland so war begins. At first the Soviets have a non aggression pact with Germany, but Germany backstabs the Soviet Union eventually. The Japanese bomb the American Pearl Harbor bringing us into the war. Italy falls first. We fight and eventually the Nazis fall after D-Day screws them and they slowly fall apart. Russia closes in on Germany and Hitler commits suicide and we win. Then Japan won't surrender so we nuke them. War over. Oh and now communism brings the Cold War.
P: Uhm what's World War I and the Cold War!
G: Phoenix that's not important now. Anyways Steve Rogers was a frail teenager suffering from numerous ailments, that prevented him from making the draft. Kinda reminds me of Theodore Roosevelt.
P: Who?
N: Forget about it. Anyways Steve Rogers may have been frail and sickly but he had a lot of heart and a strong sense of justice and he made it in and gave it everything he got. Eventually Steve was selected for the Super Soldier program and was physically enhanced.
G: But still lost the girl.
P: That was kind of mean don't you think. Anyways Captain America went to Germany and fought Nazis. Despite his physical changes, Cap was still the same mentally pure of heart and spirit. So pure that he was willing to sacrifice his life to save the day and he got frozen.
N: Upon being thawed, Captain America was thrust into a brand new world. One far different than the 1940's. There were cell phones, new movies, color TV, and new models of cars that looked like a product of sci fi for his time.
P: Captain America eventually adjusted and joined a team created by Nick Fury, the Avengers. The original members consisting normally of: Hulk, Black Widow, Thor, Hawkeye, and Iron Man. Cap due to his spirit and higher reliability became the de facto leader, earning the admiration and close friendship of his team mates.
G: And alongside these team mates, he fought threats that threatened the world. Like Loki the God of Mischief and Thor's breather, sinistter robot Ultron, a purple titan who wants to wipe out humanity, and a weird psychic brain thingy.
P: You'd think that a relatively normal guy with some super human attributes would give up or realize he's outmatched compared to his teammates and godly foes, but Captain America embodying the U.S. never gives up without a fight.
N: Captain America has a decent sized arsenal. He has his protective armor which protects his body, the iconic shield which can be thrown like a boomerang, he's worthy of Mjolnir, and has used a gun.

G: Captain America may not be ungodly strong, he is an amazing fighter capable of holding up buildings, lifting helocopters, taking blows from Thanos, damaging MCU Thanos, holding back Thanos, lifts steel beams, holds up parts of a fortress, smashed out of solid ice, tore a robot in half, his shield smashes through armor, his shield has taken blows from Thor, Iron Man, and Thanos, has the reaction speed to block bullets, blocks lasers, keeps up with trains, intercepts bullets, takes giant falls, took being smashed through walls, survived a point blank Dynamo shot, took a Nuclear explosion thanks to his shield, overpowered John Walker, took a Klaw sonic attack, held up a skyscraper, and his shield can take Iron Man blasts.
P: However Captain America is not perfect. While he can fight for a long time, he has finite stamina, prefers not to kill his foes, and tends to struggle by himself.
N: But Captain America is America's embodiment of hope and justice
(Cap throws his shield in the MCU intro)
The Fight[]
Captain America is walking through what looks like a European forest and walks into a temple. He wanted to explore this land and find out what was going on here. In the temple was what looked like a young boy wearing a green tunic, holding a sword and shield.
"Hello there," Captain America introduced himself, "What are you.."
Before Captain America could introduce himself Link leaps at him swinging the master sword.
"HYAA," Link grunted.
Captain America has the presence of mind to use his shield to protect himself blocking the sword strike with some difficulty. Link leaps off.
"What the," Captain America said startled, "Put your weapon down son."
Link was tasked to protect the temple of Hyrule from intruders and was prepared to take this one out
