- The connections between Link and Gilgamesh are that they debuted in the 1980s and both are knight heroes who explore dungeons from an overhead perspective and need to find hidden people to progress in their journey. They also need to acquire the legendary weapon (Master Sword or Triforce to Link/Blue Crystal Rod to Gilgamesh) to defeat the main villain/demon (Ganondorf to Link/Druaga to Gilgamesh) in order to rescue the princess (Zelda to Link/Ki to Gilgamesh).
