Link VS Zoro is a What-If? episode of DEATH BATTLE! featuring Link from the Legend of Zelda franchise and Roronoa Zoro from the One Piece franchise.

Description[]

The Legend of Zelda VS One Piece! It's not easy being green, unless you're these two sword-swinging, green-clothed badasses! But for one, it won't be so easy when this brutal clash ends...

Interlude[]

(Begin Invader:- Jim Johnston)

Blade:- The sword is an art hundreds of great and beloved heroes have taken up, a noble art requiring much training and many techniques to master.

Lion:- But these two green-clad swordswingers are so badass, they've basically mastered the art to the point of being unstoppable. Link, the hero of over a hundred years in Hyrule.

Blade:- VS Roronoa Zoro, the Straw-Hat Pirate master of nine swords.

Lion:- I'm Lion, that's my friend Blade...

Blade:- And it's our job to analyse their weapon, armor and skills to decide the winner, of a DEATH BATTLE!

Link[]

(Begin Hyrule Castle:- The Wind Waker HD)

Blade:- The land of Hyrule is a legendary place. Power, wisdom and courage of three goddesses guard it, giving it the necessary defenses to counter evil.

Lion:- But these defenses all take one shape. This shape is a green-clad elf boy with a pocket as deep as the abyss and a hat stolen straight from Santa's elves. He beholds courage unlike any other, a sword, a shield, and an annoying ass fairy that can't stop asking him to listen!

Navi:- Hey, Listen!

This quote multiplies into several screens until a bomb drops in and conveniently kills Navi, leaving only Link to search for her through the forest.

Lion:- Much better. This legendary hero of Hyrule, savior of tens of different lands is the multi-millennial sword-swinging hero, Link.

(Begin Lorule Field:- A Link Between Worlds)

Link is shown fighting off Bokoblins, followed by Octoroks, shooting arrows into the flipper gem at Stone Tower temple and using the Back Slice to take down a ReDead.

Blade:- Link is legendary. He has had centuries of experience over tens of adventures over multiple lands. But before he was a hero, Hyrule... Didn't even exist.

(Begin Ancient Cistern:- Skyward Sword)

Lion:- Yup. Before the three goddesses, Din, Farore and Nayru became the planetary creators, there stood only one goddess. A goddess wise, powerful and courageous, named Hylia.

Blade:- Hylia had created a golden triangle to represent the value of power, courage and wisdom. Though it was revered as a sacred artefact, however, it was also a way to great power.

Lion:- Which is why a psycho Ghost Rider guy named Demise and his army of red finger paintings attacked Hylia's kingdom to try and claim the triangle, but they were defeated by a hero, and Hylia died in order to defend this triangle and separate it to three special pieces, which would bless any that obtained one.

Blade:- Centuries later, after the defeat of Demise, he, by a curse was reincarnated as Ganondorf, the thief king of the Gerudo who would go on to claim the piece representing power, Hylia would also reincarnate as Princess Zelda. She, too, obtained a piece, representing wisdom, whereas the hero that killed Demise in a legendary battle so many centuries ago, destined to defeat Ganondorf returned. This green-clad hero, is Link.

Lion:- And that, folks, is the tale of Link, legendary Hylian hero of over a thousand quests. With sword, and the piece representing courage in hand, Link is the hero of hundreds upon hundreds of legends.

(Begin Twilight Princess:- Hyrule Field:- Daytime)

Blade:- Link is a master swordsman, and thus he wields the, er, Master Sword.

Lion:- This sharp-edged blue hilted baby is perfect to cut through the forces of evil, but it'll hurt whatever it touches regardless. A blade worthy of my collection!

Blade:- The Master Sword deflects all light-based magic and can also fire magic waves when Link is at full health. Originally being the Goddess Sword, even without full health, it's possible for Link to call upon powers from above to fire a Skyward Strike, which deals magic damage too.

Lion:- You think it stops at a sword? Hell no! Link's bread and butter is a sword and a shield! The Hylian Shield is a powerful blue metal shield. Originally made by the Thunder dragon Lanayru, the Hylian Shield is utterly indestructible to the point where it can block falling rocks imbued with magma and all forms of bombs and anyone else that goes boom!

Blade:- Speaking of bombs, Link's got those in his pockets too. Along with other forms of bombs as Water Bombs and Bombchus, which are moving bombs, and other items such as the Gale Boomerang, which can be used to bring in items from far off and take bombs to places Link himself wouldn't normally be able to get to.

Lion:- Did I mention he's also got a bow? The Hero's Bow is Link's go-to long range weapon, and can be imbued with the power of fire, ice and light. It can even be used to fire three arrows at a time and have bombs attached to it to blow things up upon impact using long range! And to be a sniper, Link decided to carry around the Hawkeye, an item that literally gives him a hawk's eye for bowshooting.

Blade:- Link's best weapon for latching onto opponents is the Clawshot, or the Double Clawshot, which is basically something from Spider-Man and used to grapple and latch.

Lion:- His regular Hookshot even has a long-range upgrade, making it the Longshot! Range and efficiency! Hell, he even has a whip, and a Paraglider and a Deku Leaf which lets him shoot winds. And aside from that, the dude's got himself a big BeyBlade ride and a wand that lets him possess and control statues!

Blade:- Need heavy-artillery damage? Link's got that covered as well. He has a massive Ball and Chain obtained from a lizard dreadnaut in the Snowpeak Ruins, and multiple hammers, including the small but powerful Megaton Hammer, as well as the bigger and more crushing Skull Hammer.

Lion:- Did I mention Link went to Hogwarts? He has rods that let him freeze his opponents with ice, burn them with cyclones of fire, and manipulate sand Gaara-style. These are creatively given the names Ice, Fire and Sand Rod!

Blade:- Link's endless ways of using magic don't end there, for in his magic arsenal he has Farore's Wind to set and teleport to locations, Nayru's Love for five full minutes of raw invincibility, and Din's Fire to form a blazing dome of destructive flames around him for defense.

Lion:- Think that's a lot? Because we're not done yet! Link's got three sets of boots with him too, including the flying Hover Boots, and the heavy metal Iron Boots that'll sink right into the water, and the Pegasus Boots, which increase his speed twofold.

Blade:- Additionally, Link's got three medallions to help him tear through his enemies quicker. The Quake Medallion lets him form huge shockwaves by stabbing into the ground, the Bombos Medallion lets him form a wave of fire with his already magic-powered Great Spin Attack, and the Ether Medallion unleashes a wave of freezing air to freeze enemies.

Lion:- Believe me, you're in for a surprise if you think that's all Link's got! This guy carries around a bunch of all-purpose bottles used to carry anything Link needs for his excursions, and to straight-up play tennis with Ganon!

Link is shown using the Bottle for Dead Man's Volley, which stuns Ganon.

Blade:- Funny as it sounds, Link's bottles do deflect light magic. Well, that and the Master Sword.

Lion:- Even with all that, there's more. Link possesses time manipulative power using the Ocarina of Time, which, if he plays, he can use the Song of Time to go back in time, the Song of Double Time to skip ahead in time, or the Backwards Song of Time to slow down time.

Blade:- Even then, that's not all. Believe it or not, there's even more in Link's pockets. Or, uh, his armory. He wears the Red Ring, which is used to armor him up and boost his defenses, as well as a chainmail under his shirt for basic armor. He's even got a Gerudo Helmet that blocks all lightning attacks. Additionally, he has a Magic Armor, which drains out his Rupees, or Zelda money, when he's hit.

Lion:- Rupees? He's Indian?

Blade:- No.

Lion:- He's a fairy?

Blade:- No. But he does have powerful blessings.

Lion:- Like what?

Blade:- Link possesses the power gifted by four different Champions. These include being able to return to life if he dies, nearly unbreakable defense, the ability to unleash wrathful lightning, and a bluster of wind in the form of a powerful gale.

Lion:- But this guy has even more to it than that. Link uses six different runes, five of which are combat-usable. Bomb and Remote Bomb let him set and detonate bombs from far off. With Stasis he has the ability to freeze time itself in a field around him. With Magnesis he does exactly what Lodestar or Magneto would do, and with Cryonisis he has the ability to create pillars of ice from any water body available.

Blade:- But it doesn't end there. When Link puts on the four masks, he becomes something far greater than anything he's ever been.

(Begin Boss:- Majora's Mask)

Link is shown putting on each and every mask.

Lion:- This guy is a total beast! With the Deku Mask, Link gets to fly around by holding flowers and blow lethal bubbles through his mouth.

Blade:- The Deku Mask also lets him launch Deku Nuts from above to blind enemies and perform a thorny spin attack.

Lion:- The Goron Mask turns him into a fire-punching, spiky-backed, nigh invincible rock beast that has the basic powers of a rock, like spiky rolling!

Blade:- The Goron Mask grants Link both strength and durability beyond human extent, as well as speed when he's curled up.

Lion:- The Zora Mask lets Link use his arm fins like boomerangs when he gets them, as well as surround himself with a blue energy field and breathe underwater. Also, he's great with a guitar.

Blade:- But Link's greatest asset... is the Fierce Deity's Mask.

(Begin Majora's Wrath)

Link is shown using the Fierce Deity's Mask to blast Majora.

Lion:- The Fierce Deity's Mask grants Link great power. It turns him into a demonic and godly spirit with boosted strength, size, speed and the power to throw sword lasers whenever he wants, as well as a giant sword that looks like an infinity symbol! Pretty neat!

Blade:- But even without these masks, Link is also gifted with colossal strength. His Golden Gauntlets exist to let him move massive pillars and push huge blocks over twice his size.

(Begin Hyrule Field:- A Link Between Worlds)

Lion:- Yup. This guy, through all his adventures with that colossal array of items, is a beast. His Iron Boots are strong enough to let him lift full-grown armored Gorons into the air and throw them, and keep in mind it's not only a pretty big distance, but these are the guys that eat rock sirloin and are so stone they don't need to breathe whatsoever. They even let him pull mutated Goron monster over here until he falls over by his chains.

As this is said, Link is shown dragging Fyrus down using the Iron Boots and running up to him with the sword.

Blade:- Link is extremely powerful and with his sword has defeated foes like Ganon, who broke down a castle room with one punch, and even other stronger incarnations of him including the monstrous Calamity Ganon, and the colossal Beast Ganon as well as Demise, who created a realm containing a star just to fight.

Lion:- He's got the speed to launch arrows in mere seconds, dodge arrows, and take down Majora, you know, the guy that almost made the moon crash down and destroy an entire country? And that isn't all, he's kept up with Onox, the guy that can go as quick as lightning, and can touch and strike down other lightning-timers.

Blade:- He even defeated Princess Zelda herself when Ganon possessed her, and took down Ganon over centuries of battles, even defeating him when he had the full Triforce and using it himself! He's even solved more puzzles and conquered more dungeons than Nathan freaking Drake!

Lion:- So Link, he's pretty tough. But the mark of any great hero is a flaw, and thus we come to Link's. He has a huge arsenal, but it's better for adventuring than using for battle, mainly for strategy.

Blade:- Additionally, Link prefers to use his arsenal, and, while he's well trained and very experienced, hell, a spirit of Link even trained himself once in the future, or it's theorized either way, some of his attacks leave him open. Additionally, he does use magic, but too much of it will drain out his supply of using magic.

Lion:- Yeah, now if you'll excuse him, he has to save the princess.

Link dodges another blow from Ganon's twin katanas, jumping upwards and shoving the Master Sword through the evil king's skull, which turns Ganon to stone.

Zoro[]

(Begin One Piece:- Zoro's Theme)

Blade:- A sword is used in many ways. It can be considered a noble art, a weapon of great force, and in some cases even a bloodstained killer. But in the case of a child known as Roronoa Zoro, it was... originally friendly competition.

Lion:- Yup. Little Zoro had a dream. It was to become the greatest swordsman in the world, and he tried to fulfill this by showing up at a training dojo and cutting down practically everyone there in training. And then he went on to challenge the dojo master's daughter Kuina, who would later go on the become his best friend.

Blade:- However, as much as Zoro tried, he could never go as far as to defeat Kuina, who in turn defeated him every time they fought. But little Zoro never gave up. He instead made a promise with Kuina that one of them would have to go on to become the greatest sword-wielder in the world, and continued to train hard no matter what the cost.

Lion:- And then Kuina went on to become said- oh wait she dead.

Blade:- Yes... As lame as it sounds, Kuina soon fell down some stairs and died. This devastated Zoro, who took up her blade and continued training hard with it to try and be the best.

Lion:- Talk about a lame death. Should've put a pillow under her before she fell. Well, either way, Zoro kept on training with Kuina's sword in hopes of still one day becoming the best, despite the impact her death had on him.

Blade:- Zoro trained hard at the dojo, even growing into a full-grown man there. And then one day he left the dojo, for he wished to find and train under Dracule Mihawk, who was then the current best swordsman in the world.

Lion:- Buuuuuut Zoro has a shit sense of direction and thus he ended up lost, so he decided to become a bounty hunter from where he would eventually meet the man looking to hire him, stretchy pirate captain Monkey D. Luffy.

Blade:- Luffy hired Zoro and took him upon his ship, which turned Zoro into a full-time asset, and master swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates.

Crickets chirping as everything goes silent.

(Begin Pirate:- 2)

Lion:- Lamest. Name. Ever.

Blade:- Hey, Luffy is wearing a Straw Hat, you know. Besides, as lame as their names are, the Straw Hat Pirates are a threatening gang of ocean sailing treasure hunters. Their main goal is to find One Piece.

Lion:- So now what they're doing is trying to break the fourth wall?

Blade:- No, that's what they named the show after-

Lion:- Instead of Link, then... Can we do Zoro VS Deadpool?

Blade:- LION NO-

Deadpool pops up.

Deadpool:- Someone call?

Blade:- GET OUT.

Deadpool:- Aw, sheesh. You did the same thing last time you called me. Why don't you lighten up a bit, eh?

Lion:- Okay, I didn't mean to do that.

Deadpool:- Oh, I am o-ffended! I'm outta here, later suckers!

Lion:- Happy, Blade?

Blade:- Not another word. Back to Zoro.

Lion:- Can we at least change it to Pit VS Zoro?

Blade:- No.

Lion:- Can we do Luffy VS Fawful after this?

Blade:- NO.

(Begin Pirate)

Lion:- Sorry I asked, jerk butt. Either way, Zoro, now alongside teammates like Luffy, Nami and Sanji, has quickly risen up the ranks and put quite a bounty on his own head. How does he avoid getting his ass stabbed off? By stabbing his enemies' asses off!

Zoro is shown jumping in among a group of enemy pirates with swords in hand, and initiating attack.

Blade:- Zoro is a sword-wielding monster. Trained by Dracule Mihawk, Zoro is a master of Santoryu, which translates to three-sword style.

Lion:- This involves using two swords in either arm, and swinging one around in his freaking mouth! And the dude's such a badass, he doesn't even cut his lips and turn into the Joker. He straight-up uses the damn things to cut bullets in half!

Blade:- Zoro's Santoryu mastery lets him use deadly techniques which even attempting would kill a man. He can use the Oni Giri, a slice of three swords at once, and the Tatsu Maki, which creates a tornado-like dragon to attack enemies.

Lion:- He also has the ability to use the 1080 Pound Cannon, where he literally uses his swords in a fucking tornado to launch projectiles through the very force of it! And, also, he can do this.

Zoro is shown using generating four extra arms and two extra heads, all holding more swords for Itoryuu.

Blade:- Zoro is a master... of using nine swords at once.

(Begin The Very Very Very Strongest)

Lion:- Yup, this fucker has Itoryuu, or the nine sword style, to help him out inparticular pinches. A true green-haired badass.

Blade:- Nine swords at once. Itoryuu is a truly formidable technique that combines illusion with physical presence. You know that guy from another famous Shonen anime that uses illusions with actual physical effect? Well, Zoro is something similar to that, except the illusions affect him in a positive way rather than his opponent in a negative way.

Lion:- But watch out, cause if Zoro hits his opponent with those illusion swords, he'll affect them in a negative way, and draw blood!

Blade:- And speaking of drawing blood, Zoro can prevent his enemies from drawing some of his own blood.

Lion:- So he takes their green, red and peach color pencils away?

Blade:- Not that blood! Zoro uses a special ability called Haki to do this. There are three types of Haki, two of which Zoro uses.

Lion:- You mean Spider-Sense Haki and Magic Armor Haki?

Blade:- Well, they essentially have the same effect, so yeah, those two! Except they're actually called Observation Haki and Armament Haki instead.

Lion:- Geez. Anime.

Zoro is shown deflecting attacks with his sword using Observation Haki.

(Begin Spirited Swordsman Zoro)

Blade:- Zoro and his friends on crew are very competent pirates. And when it comes to bladed weapons, especially Zoro.

Lion:- Yup. Loyal to his friends and a deadly swordsman, Zoro has done quite a few crazy things and survived. One time, he and Luffy were fighting a guy that was invented through furry jokes- I mean a bear-man called Kuma, and, in order to save Luffy's life, Zoro took the attack meant for Luffy despite being told it'd kill him, suffered his own attack too, which caused massive pain and suffering as the shockwave went into his body, and was left looking like a deadbeat bloody skeleton, but very much alive.

Blade:- Zoro can even cut mountains in half. He proved this by cutting in half Pica, a literal walking mountain man, in half, sending his top half flying in the process.

Lion:- Zoro is also fast! Faster than the human eye and fast enough to react to and chop bullets in half, Zoro is the embodiment of a human quick-draw weapon!

Blade:- He's even physically strong enough to lift a cannon and carry around a cage containing Luffy to multiple locations!

Lion:- He even knocked 20 pirates off a cliff with Luffy's help! Hell, he can even knock out fish men, which, at the time of their goddamn birth, are 20 times stronger than a human!

Blade:- Zoro is undoubtedly a sword master, no matter how you slice it, but he still has his flaws. For one, he has a shitty sense of direction.

Lion:- It's so bad that Zoro got lost while wandering before Luffy hired him! And the second one is even more crippling!

Blade:- Zoro is a swordfighter, and refuses to use anything else unless completely necessary, meaning he sucks at ranged combat.

Lion:- Well, I don't know too much about that last one. I mean, the guy can slice bullets in half, so why not do the same with magic blasts?

Zoro:- Itoryuu...

Zoro draws his swords.

Zoro:- Shishi Sonson!

Zoro cuts off a dragon's head with the attack.

DEATH BATTLE![]

Set - Link VS Zoro

(Begin Invader:- Jim Johnston)

Blade:- Alright the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all.

Lion:- It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!

(Begin Breath of the Wild:- Kakariko Village)

Hylian Island coast...

Water crashed onto the shore, waves booming along the surface. The water washed the shells away as on-coast items washed up. The wind howled onto the ocean shore as it blew away, a lone fish washing up onshore as the waves rolled back in.

Nearby, in front of a small building, there was a patch of grass. The grass swayed in the wind, bumping side to side as the air howled. But something cut down the grass in an instant, tearing it down and leaving nothing there but a single person.

He had blond hair and bangs on either side of his cheeks, which blew in the wind. A blue diamond ear stud hung over his ear. He wore a green armor shirt with chain mail underneath, as well as two belts connected along the shirt, one going diagonally down and the other acting as a literal belt to a small flap underneath the shirt, where he wore white pants and brown boots. His eyes glew with confidence as he drew his sword and cut down several trees with a single swing, sheathing his sword as he did so. He turned around, eyes shut, and unleashed another swing onto a nearby bush, cleaving the bush in half.

What was this mysterious swordsman's name? Was he a fortune hunter, a guardian, or both? What was he training for?

Well, this was Link. Legendary hero of... let's just say lots of different things. The latest thing he remembered was being let out of an underground prison by a blue-faced man under the request of a boy named "Sora". Said boy had apparently defeated him, but requested his revival if he beat the blue faced man.

Truth to be told, Link himself didn't quite understand the reason behind his training. He didn't plan to challenge anyone or hunt anyone down. He didn't begrudge Sora, nor did he fear him. Ganondorf had been killed and sent to another dimension to never return. But why was he revived? That question wasn't answered to him, but neither did Link feel the urge to have it answered.

Link stood there, in the morning, cutting bushes, and when he was done pointlessly training, he'd sheathe his sword and warp back to the town where he'd arrived from. There barely was anything else in his schedule.

"Stop right there, thief!"

Link turned around as he heard the words. He spotted someone. A man in a green open shirt with a scar running across one eye. He had spiky short green hair, a trio of swords, and a mean smile. He had what looked like a green kilt over his legs, which carried him at considerable speeds. The man was nimble, scary, and in the wrong. Exactly the type of thing Link would challenge. Link turned to the man and raised his bow. The man, holding a golden wallet of 2000 Rupees in his hand, turned and barely dodged the arrow, dropping the wallet and instantly drawing his sword.

"Listen, kid. I'm sure you're tempted to play hero, but I advise you to turn back now if you know what's good for you. And then, direct me to your nearest island exit."

Link replied by drawing his sword and pointing it forward at the man. The man smirked.

"Grave mistake, but I guess it was your choice..."

He drew another two swords, throwing the first one into his mouth as he grabbed it between his teeth.

"One last chance to turn back."

Link replied by raising his shield, and then clanging on it with his sword in a taunting position. Zoro was instantly flustered by this.

"Why you... Heh! Fine, so be it. Prepare..."

The two dashed at each other, pulling back swords.

"To be shredded!"

Render - Link VS Zoro

(Begin One Piece:- A Fierce Fight!)

The two swords met mid-clash, causing a loud CLANG! to echo across the morning island sky as the sword metal scraped on either edge, as both green swordsman swung back their swords. Link decided to try breaking Zoro's skull with the sword to finish him fast, whereas Zoro though a direct attack to Link's chest, on his heart would make short work of him. The two instantly swung their blades, but the two met dead-center at each other's stomachs. Link quickly backflipped upon contact, swinging his sword mid-air as he did so. Zoro looked confused for a second, but instantly ducked when he spotted the laser-like wave headed towards him.

"Huh. You're tougher than I thought, kid, I'll give you that..."

Zoro jumped up with all three swords poised to strike.

"But it still goes for nothing against me!"

As Zoro said this, he made a tornado-like spin, which Link barely backflipped as he returned to the ground, raising his Hylian Shield to brush the initial attack away, but Zoro followed up by a downwards slice which almost went behind the Hylian Shield! Link did a quick backflip, landing back on the ground and swinging his sword to fire off a few waves, but Zoro dodged all of them and delivered a forward shot, which crossed right past Link, spraying blood. Link hurriedly grabbed the wound in his chest, as the blood dried off, recovering him.

"Regeneration, eh? Well, I'll just have to cut through that, too!"

Zoro turned around and ran at Link, but this time the Hylian hero defended himself by using the Master Sword to diagonally block all three of Zoro's swords. Zoro smirked and switched to an attempt at a forward thrust, but Link used the Master Sword's edge to block the strikes. Zoro jumped up to try a spinning aerial strike, but Link hurriedly raised the Master Sword above him to block the attacks. The pirate grunted as he bounced off of Link's evil-slaying sword.

"Okay, so you're good with swords. But try to land a blow on me when I use this!"

Zoro quickly activated Observation Haki, as Link used the Pegasus Boots to rush at Zoro and roll forward. As soon as he ended the roll, Link shoved the Master Sword ahead in a joust aimed straight for Zoro's heart, but Zoro did a backflip just as good as Link's in response!

"Heh. Whaddya think about this, kid?"

Link replied with a sneer as he sheathed his sword. Zoro raised an eyebrow, but Link remained cool as he pulled out something else... It was... A bow and arrow?

"Humph... A jack of all trades? Well, I'll just stick to trying to cut you down, kid. Come at me!"

Smirking, Link drew his bow and took aim at Zoro. He began to rapid-fire arrows at immense speed, as Zoro jumped, dodged and ducked all of them. He blocked the arrows with his swords, caught them in his mouth, and even kicked one away. He grinned fiercely at Link.

"If that's all you've got, then all I've got is victory."

As Zoro said this, however, he didn't spot the bomb attached to the arrow behind him. The bomb instantly detonated, leaving Zoro covered in smoke.

"What the-*cough*-hell?"

Link, grin remaining on his mouth, jumped into the smoke, and as it cleared off, jumped into the air, full-force, and shredded his sword across Zoro's chest, making it spray a huge amount of blood as a shockwave erupted out, Link yelling his signature battle cry to this.

"SEIYAAAA!"

The shockwave knocked Zoro off his footing, causing him to slam into a tree, which dropped a coconut, which fell, mask-like, onto Zoro's head, causing ducks to circulate his head as it did.

Link pulled his sword out the ground and took aim with his bow, straight at the coconut, firing the shot as the bowstring made a snapping noise. The arrow struck the coconut and almost went into Zoro's forehead, but due to the thick flesh, Zoro was able to not get stabbed. Link shot ahead with the Pegasus Boots, but Zoro cut through the coconut and jumped up, as Link thruster the Master Sword up whereas Zoro swung down. The four blades made a huge clanging noise upon collision, but the two swordsman remained unwavered. Zoro got down and thruster all three swords forward, but Link blocked with the Master Sword. He followed up by diagonally swinging at Zoro, followed by a frontal slash, after which Link did a jump attack, all of which Zoro stopped, crossing his swords over his chest.

Link rolled back at this and pulled out his Longshot. Zoro smirked.

"Another item? Even Luffy couldn't stretch all that into his stomach."

Link smirked, launching the Longshot forward as the chain extended out, Zoro keeping the swords across his chest. But to his surprise, the Longshot grabbed the swords and zipped back towards Link, the tether making a zipping noise as it thrust the swords at Link. Both swords clanged to the ground beside Link, whereas Zoro, grinning, put his mouth sword in his arm.

"I can still take you down with one sword! Come on!"

Link replied by dashing forward, as the two blades clashed diagonal to horizontal. Zoro jumped back alongside Link, but while Link pulled out the Fire Rod, Zoro just ran straight ahead. He was going to end this kid right now, or he wasn't the feared bounty hunter he was.

"I'm sorry, kid, but it ends for you here."

Zoro pulled back his sword to cut, but Link did a wave with the Fire Rod, which created a blast of fire, engulfing Zoro, but to Link's surprise, Zoro had regained his other two swords, and deflected the fire with the 1080 Pound Cannon, which sent the fire waving right back at Link to attack him!

Smirking, Link drew his bow. Zoro questioned how it would help, but the bow glew blue, and as Link shot the flames, the ice staved them off, followed by Link using wind magic, holding out his gauntlets to fan the flames off!

"Argh... Much more competent than I though, kid. I gotta give you credit."

Zoro said this as he smiled.

"I'm starting to enjoy this more and more!"

Zoro ran at Link, doing a forward slice that used all three swords in succession, but Link jumped to avoid that. Zoro followed by flipping two swords and thrusting them forward, but Link did a backflip to avoid that. Zoro did a reverse slash, turning around, but Link used the Hylian Shield to block it entirely, and then did a sideways jump, a roll, and...

"TEIYA!"

Swinging upwards in a hoop, Link performed a blade technique that drew a huge amount of blood from Zoro's open back. No clanging sound of metal on metal, this was the straight deal! Zoro fell over, crippled from the wound, as Link took the Master Sword by the hilt, raising it above his head. Was this the end of Zoro?

CLANG!

Blocked! Link, forced to backflip, dodged as Zoro, blood dripping from his lip, grinned fiercely, with a thorough air of enjoyment. Zoro grinded his swords on each other, making scraping metal sounds as he hungered to continue the action.

"Kid, you're making this fun. Let's rock!"

Link jetted forward as did Zoro, swinging his Master Sword onto Zoro's swords, but it was a feint! Link turned and did a kick with the Iron Boots on right to Zoro's face!

"Humph... Foul play, huh? Well two can play at that game!"

Zoro wiped the blood off his face and did a double sword swing, forming an X on Link's chest, spraying blood and tearing his shirt. Link grunted as he backed off. This man was quite the challenge. But if he took him to a place where he'd have the advantage...

"HEIYAH!"

Busting out the Spinner, Link jumped onto the wall, crushing stones and sending dirt flying, going gradually up towards the island cavern. Zoro raised an eyebrow, but followed suit, all swords drawn.

"If you even think about running, kid, you've got another thing coming."

Zoro chased after Link, jumping onto platforms as Link switched gears, jumping next to Zoro and swinging at him, only to be blocked, and then jumping back onto the rails. Going up and up, the Spinner stopped as Link jumped off onto the cavern, as Zoro, too, jumped in.

"Heh, a new setting? This'll be fun!"

Zoro clanged his swords and Link grunted. Link rolled forward as Zoro prepared for a spinning attack, but as Link jumped out, the Master Sword shone as he, too, did a Soin Attack, forming another heavy and loud clang as the swords met.

Link took this opportunity to pull out a strange blue mask and put it to his face, while jumping backwards into the water.

Plish.

Zoro put his swords away and stood there, hands on his hips.

"Hiding now? Humph, I should've known that you'd be a coward."

Zoro walked towards the water, but to his surprise, two blue boomerang-like objects burst out and almost removed his head! Sidestepping just in time, Zoro's suspicions were confirmed. This swordsman had more than one form.

Link, Zora form on, burst out the water, delivering an axe kick to Zoro's skull as he did so, turning behind him and grabbing him and diving into the water. Link began swimming down, choking Zoro as he did so, and slammed him into the water surface. Link then pulled out a Water Bomb and hurled it into Zoro, blowing it up and scattering sand everywhere. Zoro had barely dodged, but was badly hurt and now coughing and choking on the sand and smoke, as Link jetted ahead, forcefield on, and tackled him, slamming him into a wall.

Glub glub...

Bubbles echoed around the water as Link returned to the surface. He got onto the land and took off his Zora Mask, walking off until...

SHING!

All three blades drawn, Zoro took a swing at Link, jumping right out of the water, being barely blocked by the Hylian Shield. Link turned and drew his sword, clanging as he thrust it into battle with Zoro's. The four blades clashed, edge on edge until Link did a backflip and jumped forwards, but Zoro rolled to the side to avoid the attack! In one swift blow, Zoro kicked Link to make him edge downwards, coughing up blood, and then swung his sword into the ground and up, causing Link to get sliced upwards as he forcefully breathed out more blood! Zoro prepared to swing down onto Link's head, but Link, just barely, drew his sword with sudden reflex as his wounds healed. In retaliation, Link performed a turning slash that almost knocked Zoro off his feet, and sheathed his sword, drawing a new weapon, a wrecking ball attached to a chain.

"A chain ball, eh...? I'll have to cut through it like I'll do with you!"

Zoro ran ahead as Link began to swing the ball above his head, causing Zoro to jump back carefully. One strike from the ball would crush his bones into dust. Link, though, didn't take any risks, hurling the ball forward then and there. Zoro, too surprised to react, was smashed into the cavern wall, while Link returned the ball to his pockets and drew an Ice Rod.

Zoro returned to the ground, kneeling, coughing some blood as he wiped the rest from his face. He grinned savagely, blood trickling down his mouth as he dashed forward to meet Link. Link did a wave with the Ice Rod, freezing the water and causing the two to slide forward as their swords met, however, their feet slipped and the two were forced to back off. Link slid down the ice and back onto stone ground, while Zoro slid the the ice's edge. Link decided more solid footing was required now and pulled out yet another mask, but Zoro, not taking any chances, held his swords in an offensive position, and followed by doing a midair spin jump, a 1080 Pound Cannon that launched a devastating storm of heavy stones straight at Link.

THUD!

Dust cleared off, as the wind blew away, pieces of stone shard scattering everywhere. And from within, one large stone remained.

SLAM!

The full force of Goron Link burst onto Zoro's chest, ramming him full-force into the wall, which shook heavily as the Goron rolled onto the ice, circling it like a skater, spikes edging out. Zoro got back up, bleeding heavily, and jumped over Goron Link to get onto the ice, as the Goron went on circling him menacingly, likely to pounce any second.

Zoro, in the center, made a defensive sword position. Link went on rolling in circles on the ice, scraping the frozen ground with every second. Zoro waited in patience for a few seconds, and, as he expected, Link spun around and was headed straight for him!

Zoro didn't even say anything. Instead, he kept his cool and rammed his swords onto the Goron, but to his surprise, the ball opened, revealing something huge and covered in stones. Goron Link delivered a forward punch that slid off Zoro's swords and slammed into his chest! Link returned to ground and did a left hook, punching Zoro into the ceiling, which caused a stalactite-or whatever it's called- to fall down and impale his stomach as he landed. Zoro was dead.

Link took off his mask. The deed was done, and blood spewing out Zoro's mouth now. The stalactite fell over and broke on the ground, as Zoro lay there motionless. Link stepped towards him, but Zoro instantly met him with an Oni Giri, which caused a dragon to burst out and slam him into the wall! Zoro held his swords in offensive position and ran forward, as he met up with Link, doing stab after stab to the Hylian hero's chest, drawing more and more blood.

"It's over, kid... I've ended this now... so go home... To hell!"

Zoro continued stabbing until he'd done it fifteen more times. He finally withdrew his swords as he stabbed one more into Link for good measure. He was huffing, puffing, and felt like every muscles in his body had just pushed themselves beyond their limit. Zoro looked at Link, blood dripping from his mouth down to his jaw, trickling onto Zoro's sword. Until... two gloved hands grabbed them!

"No way!"

"TEIII!"

Link ripped Zoro's sword right out of his stomach, and slammed his foot into Zoro's face. He unsheathed his sword, as Zoro stumbled back and spun his swords in the motion for Oni Giri. He launched the dragon right at Link, but the Hero of Hyrule raised the Hylian Shield to entirely avert the attack.

The wind dispersed off of Link's shield without even scratching the surface, as Link responded by drawing his sword. He ran at Zoro as his wounds slowly healed, and did a jump strike, slamming the Master Sword into the ground as Zoro was forced to jump to dodge it. Zoro landed on the cave floor with a somersault as he was forced to do a headstand kick to block an attack from Link, followed by another somersault that left him cornered at the wall, as he landed, but Link remained relentless, doing a back jump as he strummed his bowstring, shooting a Fire Arrow at Zoro, which froze his arm to the wall.

"Dammit!"

Link did a backflip on the ground and pulled out a Fire Arrow, shooting Zoro's frozen hand with it, causing the ice to melt off, alongside Zoro's full hand!

Zoro groaned as his hand's melted slop collapsed to the ground with burning water. One of his swords remained frozen to the wall. He now had one hand, two swords. Link sheathed his sword in a taunt as he watched Zoro recover, huffing and cursing under his breath.

The two dashed at each other and met in a deadly swordlock, causing another clang to echo as they backflipped. Link pulled out his bow and fired three light arrows at one, while Zoro did a two-sworded 1080 Pound Cannon. The arrows scattered as Link got knocked into a wall, after which Zoro dashed at him. Link dodged Zoro's first attack and sidestepped the second, but their swords met the second time. Link did a downward slash at Zoro's kneecaps, but Zoro did a crouching jump to avoid that and swung the blades down Link's chest, drawing a bit of blood. Link responded by doing a forward diagonal slash, which gashed Zoro's stomach badly, and the two blades locked as before in a sideways-forward lock.

Link, with the tremendous force of his Golden Gauntlets, pushed away Zoro and stabbed at his waist, but Zoro did a flip to barely avoid it and skidded onto the stone footing. He used his Armament Haki now to ensure his survival, to which Link responded by equipping his Magic Armor. The two shot ahead but were both pushed back by each other's armor. The blades gleamed with light as they attempted a sliding slice to lock swords, but the armors prevented any damage. Link did a backflip and raised the Master Sword into the air, causing it to catch on fire as a bolt of lightning fell onto it. The Hero of Hyrule jumped ahead and swung the flaming blade onto Zoro, generating an electric shock that broke the armor, electrocuting Zoro!

The flames ravaged Zoro, burning off most of his shirt as the electricity drew blood. Link returned to the ground and stabbed the Master Sword into Zoro's waist, causing another surge that had a huge impact, even recoiling Link. To Link's surprise, he flew back and crashed into the cave wall, but Zoro collapsed, battered, bruised, and bloodied.

Link sheathed his sword in exhaustion. The battle was over. Zoro's corpse was drenched red and was entirely motionless.

But a smile was on his face.

"Kid, you thought this was over that easy?"

Link, surprised, stood up from his kneeling position. Zoro, every ounce of his body straining as he forced himself back up, pulled out a headband. His put it onto his head, tying it on as he smiled on despite the blood dripping out his mouth. Zoro cracked his neck twice as something began slowly gaining visibility over his back. Link looked at him, and his eyes widened.

Zoro now had five arms and three heads.

"You're good. I can appreciate that. Getting to fight me in this state is your reward."

Zoro grinned devilishly and, his feet stomping the ground ten times every second, raised his five arms at Link, slamming the swords into the just-right timed Hylian Shield. The eight swords made a devastating spin attack as Zoro landed, causing Link to jump and fall off-balance, which gave Zoro another opening. The pirate took advantage of this to do an eight-way forward stab, which mainly struck the Hylian Shield, but some got into Link's ribs and even his waist. Zoro did an upward spin which knocked Link off and onto a wall, and jumped up at him, doing a spin that broke down the cave wall, causing Link to crash downwards with them, right into a roaring waterfall which sucked in both Link, the rocks, and then, with a loud thwack, crushed them within.

Zoro smirked and jumped down onto a platform that led down the waterfall. He had a good time, but since it was over, he figured he may as well enjoy it by watching Link's remains wash up. But as the rocks slowly washed down the waterfall, nothing of Link went down with them.

Instead, a tall shadow was within the water. At least eight feet tall, the looming shadow got nearer and nearer, sword raised, until it burst out the water and slammed his sword down onto the platform Zoro stood on. Lightning boomed as the platform broke down where Zoro stood, as he, injured, was forced to backflip onto a nearby branch. He looked ahead at the looming figure, latched to the odd-looking infinity sword. Two white eyes stared back at Zoro, empty of emotion. Red patterns and a blue marking was on this being's face, as well as Link's general appearance with more armor and a blue tunic. The Fierce Deity stabbed his sword into the ground as he stared down Zoro, who stared him down too.

The battle was on.

(Begin Twilight Princess:- Hyrule Field (Metal Cover))

Zoro hopped off the branch whereas Fierce Deity Link jumped off the rocky platform. Their blades clashed, eight-to-one, but both bounced back with equal force. Zoro landed on another stony platform, whereas Link returned to his original position. Link hurled his sword into the air and called down on the forces of lightning and fire, blasting a wave at Zoro, but Zoro and his eight swords successfully countered the attack with a spin. Link hopped off his position and did a spin of his own, which Zoro clashed with his sword, but as soon as Link got out of his attack, the hero swung his dual-edged sword onto the side of Zoro's neck, and did a flip kick to knock him away. Zoro landed on another branch and kneeled down.

"Tch... You're much more than I thought....."

Zoro leapt off his position and swung as Link but was easily parried by a sideward edge-guard. Zoro reversed behind Link, doing a back slice, which forced Link to take a forward step due to the attack's force, but Link did a turn to the back and did a slash similar to a crescent moon, which drew blood from Zoro's waist as he staggered back. Link jumped off of the platform while spinning backwards and dug his sword into another branch as he landed, the waterfall roaring as loud as ever. Zoro wiped the blood off his stomach and jumped forward on one foot, onto a branch and jumping off onto the one Link stood on. He swung at Link, but the Hylian hero sidestepped the attack and slammed his knee into Zoro's stomach, followed by doing an upward slash crescent that drew more blood. Zoro staggered, but quickly recovered and swung forward his original arm sword, which caught Link off-guard and drew blood! Zoro took a spinning attack next, and successfully struck all three of his mouth-blades onto Link! With the combo set up, Roronoa did a diagonal crescent attack that landed all his extra arm swords into Link, forcing out a crescent of blood!

"You're finished, kid. Luckily for you I'll show mercy!"

Zoro took the opportunity of Link being stunned and stabbed all arm swords into him, as well as one mouth sword! The other two heads launched their swords into the air and caught them by their hilts, glowing daggers braced to kill.

Zoro plucked his swords out of Link's body, drawing a massive amount of blood, which sprayed out onto the ground. Link lay there, kneeling, whereas Zoro held two swords crossed across his head, ready to behead him.

"It's over, kid. Shame though, I kind of liked the way you fought."

"SEIYA!"

Zoro gasped in surprise as Link restrained the blades with two arms and pushed them off to either side, ramming the Double Helix Sword through Zoro's stomach. Zoro's eyes grew huge in pain as a wave of blood erupted out his back. Link put his arm to his mouth and wiped off a bit of blood, as he pulled out the sword and slammed his boot into Zoro, knocking him into the waterfall. Link took off his mask as Zoro's extra heads and arms disappeared. The final fight... was in the fall.

Link jumped down to meet Zoro, who, now with only one sword as the other had been kicked away, raised his to meet the Master Sword. The upper sword and the bottom sword clashed as the waterfall rapids continued raging down the two as droplets of both water and sweat got on them. They were both drenched in the blood of battle, washed away by the water. The swords' clang couldn't even be heard over the roar of the waterfall, but the blades bounced off each other. Link did a wave with the Sand  Rod mid-air to try and get some sand under his feet, but Zoro quickly delivered an axe-kick to stop him.

The waterfall roared as the two continued their fall, swords meeting for the second time. As before, they bounced off each other, but Link decided to think fast and connected the waterfall with Cryonisis, which made an icy platform that somewhat broke the fall-but the weight of water crashing quickly destroyed the ice. Zoro took this advantage to swing his sword at Link, doing damage to his eye, and began to raise his sword to cut his head off. It'd end as soon as his throat met the blade...

!!!!!!!!

Time had stopped. Zoro didn't move an inch as Link recovered. Time reverted to normal as Link did a downwards slash crescent, which unleashed a hearty spurt of blood from Zoro's chest. Link drew both Clawshots as Zoro fell, his wound doing him much damage. Clawshots in an X-position over his chest, Link let them boost downwards to latch onto Zoro by his arms, weaving him into the iron chains. Link did a midair turn and latched the back end of his Clawshots onto two nearby branches. The chains swirled and swirled in midair, entangling Zoro within like a spider and causing his sword to fall down through his waist, impaling him and drawing even more blood as normal blood already seeped out the huge gash on his torso. Link drew the Master Sword...

"HEIIYAH!"

One downwards slash crescent lopped Zoro's head right off his body, as the Clawshots snapped and loosened his limbs off, which caused a stream of blood to pour out as Link returned to the ground next to the raging waterfall. He was showered with red pirate blood as the rest of Zoro's remains landed in the lake. Link slowly looked up at the sky, sword by his side as the two Clawshots fell back into his pockets. Rain came down, slowly washing blood off Link's body, which basically drenched him upon Zoro's death. Link just stood there, looking up at the rainy sky, as Zoro's head rolled into the water too.

K.O.![]

(Begin Ballad of the Goddess)

Link is shown collecting the reward for Zoro's head.

Ace, Luffy, Sanji and Nami are shown searching for Zoro, but don't find the slightest clue of him.

Lion:- Looks like a sword-duel worthy of being called a war!

Blade:- Zoro is hands-down the better swordsman. He has less experience and training, but his art consists solely of the sword, and he's extremely skilled with it, giving his nine-bladed style a major advantage. But when it comes down to it, that's literally everything Zoro had.

Lion:- Yup, Link pretty much destroyed him when it came to everything else. He's got countless generations of experience, timelines, centuries, and adventures. The guy's even been trained by a spirit of himself! And while Zoro spent all his early life solely on sword training, it doesn't take over eleven generations to fully mature and become a bounty hunter.

Blade:- Additionally, while Zoro is at this point reaching the height of his career, he's only been training as a child. Link, on the other hand, has defeated world-ending threats such as Majora and other giants such as Gohma at the age of eleven to nine.

Lion:- So aside from being hundreds of years ahead of Zoro in being a battle-honed genius, Link is easily a better strategist too.

Blade:- Link solves puzzles all the time. He has faced numerous dungeons that put him up with nigh-impossible odds. Just a few ideas are the time when he had to traverse the Stone Tower twice, once while it was normal, and the other upside-down.

Lion:- That aside, Link's defeated several bosses that also require meticulous strategy, putting him on the high ground compared to Zoro, who prefers going slice slice slice.

Blade:- Zoro was also badly outclassed in raw power. His strength can admittedly let him cut entire ships in half, and Pica, who flew up a bit after he was sliced, was a literal mountain, but Link definitely had Zoro outstripped badly when it came to going full strength.

Lion:- Link's physical limit is at the very least 1000 tons, as he was able to lift and throw a huge pillar of black granite. Additionally, he was also able to throw an armored Goron, which is a literal moving rock-man. Let's say Link in Twilight Princess is about 5 foot 7. That would put this giant armored beast at say 7 feet tall. Add in the armor, as well as the fact that this guy is a rock man, and you can safely say he could be as heavy as a few trucks.

Blade:- But Link's true raw power is in the power bequeathed upon him. He's been gifted with so much power he can defeat and seal away Demise, who created a realm that contained a sun within it. Additionally, Link defeated Ganon even when he had the full Triforce, something Demise didn't, and then went on to claim the Triforce, which would make him even stronger than he normally is.

Lion:- And this isn't even bringing in the fact that the masks make him gain extra strength, speed, and flight, heck, the Fierce Deity's Mask is literally just a power boost to make Link superior to Majora, and logically superior to his base forms, which are pretty powerful already.

Blade:- Even with Zoro being too fast for the human eye to track and react to and slice up bullets, even with his Observation Haki, he couldn't keep dodging forever. Link possesses the speed to keep up with lightning-timers at the very least... Such as when he defeated Onox, as well as being able to react to regular lightning speed attacks in Breath of the Wild, as well as dodging lasers and arrows. And this, as before, is only in his base form.

Lion:- Even if Zoro could use nine swords, Link wouldn't be bashed up too bad about them. He's got an indestructible defense, and held the clear-cut durability advantage too. You can easily put Link's durability on par with Demise's power, considering he dueled and defeated him, and while Zoro did survive an attack from Kuma that bloodied up his entire body and should've killed him, it isn't on the same power level as that of Demise's.

Blade:- In addition, Zoro is purely a melee fighter, using his swords and Armament Haki to defend and duel. Link possesses an upper hand in speed, as well as multiple ranged options such as arrows, a Longshot, Double Clawshots, and magic. Additionally, Link's self-heal abilities obtained through the Zora champion Mipha made it nearly impossible for Zoro to kill him.

Lion:- Even if Zoro shielded himself with Armament Haki, Link's different armors would compensate for that. Both the Magic Armor and Nayru's love would put Zoro at a mass disadvantage, and with Zoro cornered so badly, it'd only be a matter of time until the Master Sword lopped his head off. I guess Zoro's fate was Linked to the Master Sword.

Blade:- The winner is Link.

Link wins
