Leomon vs Beast King is a What-If? Death Battle by Vrokorta. It pits Leomon from Digimon against Beast King from One Punch Man.

Lion Battle! These lions are strong, heedless of their deaths, but only one will die in this Death Battle.

Interlude[]
Vrokorta: Lions, one of the strongest animals in Africa. Known for their impressive roars, powerful jaws, high speed, & pack hunting skills., it's no wonder they earn the title of king.
Sphere Robot: Now make it anime.
Vrokorta: Leomon, the lion swordsman of justice.
Sphere Robot: And Beast King, the second strongest mutant in the House of Evolution. He's Vrokorta, & I'm Sphere Robot.
Vrokorta: And we'll be analyzing these combatants' feats, arsenal & skills to find out who would win, a Death Battle.
Leomon[]
Vrokorta: The world of Digimon, is a harsh one. Many are trying to get stronger, either to survive, or to conquer. Others choose peace, to live their own lives separate from the hunters. But no one is ever truly safe, & when the strong prey upon the weak, there is little that can be done.
Sphere Robot: And well, there's one Digimon that just wouldn't have that. A hero who trained every day, so he could be strong enough to enforce the justice he believes so strongly in.
Vrokorta: This was none other than Leomon, a role model for all good Digimon to follow.
Sphere Robot: Through his training, he's made his flesh impenetrable to damage, learned the art of the sword, & even learned to focus his energy into projectiles with his "Fist of the Beast King" attack.
Vrokorta: This is Leomon's signature move, where he throws a punch that manifests a projectile in the shape of his head. This move is capable of shattering boulders & plowing through trees.
Sphere Robot: And that's not all Leomon knows. Besides punches and sword strikes, Leomon can also perform drop kicks, roundhouse kicks, counter-attacks, & full-body tackles.
Vrokorta: There's also his moves from the video games, like Muscle Charge & Attack Charge to increase his strength, Megalo Spark & Static Elect to strike enemies with electricity, Wind Cutter to loose cutting whirlwinds, War Cry to lower an opponent's defenses, Comet Hammer to hit enemies with rocks, & Saint Knuckle to strike foes with a fist of holy light.
Sphere Robot: Some of his moves even come with status effects, like Paralysis & Confusion for Electric Chute & Buster Dive respectively.
Vrokorta: With all his training, Leomon has proven capable of taking on many different Digimon, like Greymon, Garurumon, & Togemon. He's also responsible for crushing the eye of Cyclonemon, a dragon Digimon that can melt anything with its high temperature breath. He's even rivals with Ogremon, who wields a bone club made from Skullgreymon's femur, a Digimon he slayed himself.
Sphere Robot: For all his strengths though, Leomon's mostly recognized for one thing, dying.
Vrokorta: Yeah, Leomon's got a pretty bad track record across the board, having been killed by MetalEtemon, Meicoomon, Beelzemon, & several others depending on which Leomon we're looking at.

Sphere Robot: The reason for his most well-known failures is actually his own selflessness. He puts his life on the line for the greater good, & almost always gets the short end of the stick for it.
Vrokorta: He's also weak to Dark-type attacks in the Dawn/Dusk games, which is a surprise considering that's what type his rival is.
Sphere Robot: Even so, Leomon's strong will has taken him this far. He may die for his ideals, but what better thing is there to die for?
Beast King[]
Vrokorta: Imagine being the smartest man on the planet.
Sphere Robot: Don't need to imagine that.
Vrokorta: The smartest HUman, on the planet. Everyone around you is inferior, & you feel trapped in a world full of apes. You want humanity to advance, to evolve, but no one will support you.
Sphere Robot: Everyone believes your experiments are too dangerous, unnecessary even. They think you're crazy simply because they cannot fully realize the scope of your ideals. If you want to achieve your dreams, you'll have to do it... alone...
Vrokorta: This was the life of Dr. Genus, and, well, he succeeded.
Sphere Robot: At the age of 70, Dr. Genus' research finally reached its climax. He became capable of restoring his youth, cloning himself, & modifying humans into super-powered animal hybrids.
Vrokorta: He created Armored Gorilla, Ground Dragon, Carnage Kabuto, Mosquito Bae- I mean Girl.
Sphere Robot: Bruh.
Vrokorta: And of course the focus of this analysis, Beast King.
Sphere Robot: Beast King is the number 2 strongest creation of Dr. Genus, only surpassed by Carnage Kabuto. When Saitama killed Mosquito Girl, Dr. Genus sent a team led by Beast King to take care of him.
Vrokorta: Naturally he was killed with casual disdain.
Sphere Robot: Well they don't call him One Punch Man for nothing.
Vrokorta: Well when Beast King WAS alive, his special power was to slash with his claws so forcefully that he could create condensed blades of wind that cleaved through obstacles.
Sphere Robot: These blades were easily sufficient to slice up houses, roads... & his own allies.
Vrokorta: Yeah, Beast King doesn't give a crap whose side you're on.
Sphere Robot: But he does give a crap about killing the target, so when things aren't going his way, he just rips off his shirt & gets absolutely RIPPED like a freaking Dragon Ball Z character, increasing the strength & speed of his attacks!
Vrokorta: As the second strongest mutant created by Dr. Genus, Beast King far surpasses Armored Gorilla & Mosquito Girl, to the point where Armored Gorilla thought Beast King could beat Genos, even after being defeated by the cyborg himself. Heck, even Mosquito Girl was strong enough to rip off Genos' arm, so Beast King would be way stronger.

Sphere Robot: But how strong is Genos? Well, while he does get stronger throughout the series, by the time he fought Armored Gorilla, his best feat was destroying the House of Evolution, which was calculated at 115 Kilotons of TNT. Seeing as Genos can survive his own attacks being sent back at him, we can scale this to his durability as well.
Vrokorta: So Genos can survive 115 Kilotons, Mosquito Girl can rip off his arm, & Beast King far surpasses her. This puts Beast King's strength well above 115 Kilotons.
Sphere Robot: Sadly for Beast King, he suffers a similar weakness to the very one who killed him. Strong as he is, he's severely lacking in mental capabilities. His combat boils down to mindlessly slashing the foe with reckless abandon, no care for what he hits in the process.
Vrokorta: He better hope he doesn't fight someone near a gas station.
Sphere Robot: Heh, good one. If that wasn't enough, Beast King simply doesn't have a lot of options in battle. He slashes, that is literally it.
Vrokorta: But let's be honest, Beast King had to fight Saitama, he was doomed from the start. In a fight against someone who DOESN'T kill everyone with one punch, he'll stand a far better chance. He may be reckless, but he's confident in his abilities. He won't go down easily... against anyone who DOESN'T one-shot all of their foes.
Intermission[]
Vrokorta: Alright, the combatants are set. Time for a battle of buff, anime lion dudes!
Sphere Robot: Don't take that out of context.
Vrokorta: It's time for a Death Battle!
Fight[]
Location: Z-City
An empty business office is seen, having been recently abandoned by all its employees. Suddenly, one of the computers flickers, & the screen turns on. Mere seconds later, the screen starts to glitch & spasm as all the other computers start to flicker. Phones ring spontaneously & light bulbs start to flash so bright that they shatter. Then, a figure begins to emerge from the computer, appearing as a mass of 1 & 0s before gradually forming into a wireframe, & finally taking definite form.
The figure stood 10 feet tall, with rippling muscles and a flowing mane. This was Leomon, & he'd just managed to cross over from the Digital World to the Human World. "Hm, I expected something different. The Human World is surprisingly similar to my own" Leomon said as he looked around a bit, "Although, there should almost certainly be actual humans around. Where are they?". The lion Digimon tried to navigate the building, though found that human constructs weren't quite built for his stature. After quite a bit of squeezing, & more time than he'd like to admit, Leomon found his way outside the building with minimal damage.
Leomon glanced across the streets, & still found no sign of humans. Instead, he found numerous buildings collapsed on the ground, & roads in pieces, claw marks could be seen in everything. "Something is amiss" the lion said to himself, putting a hand on his sword before carefully proceeding through the city. After several minutes, he heard several people approaching him. He turned & saw... humans! Albeit, oddly dressed ones. "There you are!" Leomon said relieved, "I was wondering where you all went".
One of the humans spoke up, pointing a set of claws at the lion, "Enough! We won't let you take our city!". The entire group leapt at Leomon, drawing weapons such as a kusarigama, a giant kendama, & a ninjatō. The lion drew his sword & managed to block every strike before knocking them back with a mighty swing.
"I'm not the one who did this!" Leomon pleaded, "It'd already occurred before I arrived!".
One of the heroes scoffed, "Right, as if there are two lion monsters in the city!".
However, the heroes received a violent awakening as all 4 of them were cleaved in half by a nigh-invisible force. For a moment, Leomon could only stare with his jaw agape at the fallen corpses of the heroes that lay before him. He then steeled himself & drew his sword, "SHOW YOURSELF COWARD!".
Leomon could hear a light chuckle as the assailant showed himself. Walking out from between two buildings was a figure quite similar to Leomon himself. He stood over 21 feet tall, & wore animal furs. This was Beast King, & he gave Leomon a look of unbridled bloodlust. "A coward eh?" Beast King said, his smile never wavering. "Let's see what you think of me after I claw your eyes out!" the mutant said as he drew his claws.
Leomon narrowed his gaze, "Threaten me all you want, but I fear nothing you can do to me. I stand before you for the sake of others. I will defeat you here & now for those who lost their lives to you! I WILL END YOUR REIGN OF TERROR!".
"Hah! I'd like to see you try!" Beast King said before lunging at Leomon.
FIGHT!
Leomon raised his sword to block the claw strike, a shockwave of air being blasted behind him & destroying several buildings. The lion Digimon threw his foe off before delivering a lunge of his own with his sword. Beast King simply dodged to the side before backhanding Leomon into another building. The lion mutant delivered a series of slashes at the building Leomon was in, tearing the structure to pieces. "So much for 'ending my reign of terror'" Beast King said condescendingly.
"I'm not through yet!" Leomon's voice rang out as a fist emerged from the building's rubble, blasting away the debris that'd just buried him. The Digimon roared as he leapt through the air to deliver an overhead slash to Beast King. The mutant countered with his claws, but Leomon swung again. The two began striking back & forth, Leomon's blade matching perfectly with Beast King's claws. Eventually the clash was broken when Leomon shouted "Fist of the Beast King!", sending out a blast of energy that sent Beast King skidding across the ground.
"So that's how it is" Beast King said, growing more interested in the fight. "Well guess what" the mutant said, raising his claws behind him "I'M THE ONLY BEAST KING AROUND HERE!". With that, the mutant unleashed a series of slashes at the ground, the force of his attacks shattering the roads & sending debris at the Digimon. Leomon rushed forward fearlessly, destroying the debris with his sword & fists. Once the Digimon was close enough, Beast King redirected his attack, slashing straight at Leomon. The Digimon quickly raised his sword to block the slash before delivering a counterattack, swinging his sword at Beast King's arm & slashing open his wrist.
"... you drew my blood" the mutant said almost in disbelief.
"That's far from the worst I can do to you. Give up now & I'll spare your life" Leomon said decisively.
Beast King simply grinned. "I'm not afraid of some little cut. Besides, THIS FIGHT HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN!" the mutant said before punching Leomon, sending him flying several yards away. Before Leomon could recover, Beast King's muscles swelled up, tearing apart his animal furs. The mutant rushed at Leomon just as the latter got back to his feet, & delivered a lightning-fast slash. Leomon tried to block, but Beast King had counted on this, swinging hard enough to knock the sword out of the Digimon's hand. "Try fighting without your precious sword!" Beast King roared before unleashing a series of slashes at blinding speed. Leomon recoiled at the numerous slashes, but managed to recompose himself. In between slashes, the Digimon threw a Sonic Jab, interrupting Beast King's next slash, "What?".
In Beast King's moment of shock, Leomon wound up his arm & delivered an even stronger punch, knocking the mutant back. "If all you plan to do is knock me around, then you might as well give up no-" Beast King was cut off as Leomon punched the ground, sending debris flying in every direction. The mutant managed to react in time, slashing at the debris & destroying it before it reached him. As Beast King was distracted, Leomon roared into the air, causing his muscles to swell & his stats to rise. By the time Beast King was done, Leomon was already rushing him down, closing the distance in seconds.
"Fist of the Beast King!" the Digimon shouted as he delivered a punch to Beast King's chest, sending the mutant flying. Leomon proceeded to grab a massive piece of road before chucking it at Beast King. As the mutant clawed the road to pieces, Leomon bolted across the block before sprinting up a damaged building. As he reached the top, he jumped off, heading straight for Beast King. Leomon threw a punch, but Beast King met him halfway with a slash. The mutants claws buried themselves in the Digimon's hand, but were shattered in the process. Ignoring the pain, Leomon's fist proceeded, striking Beast King's forearm & fracturing the bone.
"NOT GOOD ENOUGH!" Beast King roared before slashing Leomon back to the ground, his impact creating a massive shockwave & mushroom cloud of debris. Before the Digimon could recover, Beast King fell with his remaining claws drawn, impaling Leomon through the chest.
(Stop music)
"YOU THINK I'M A COWARD NOW?!" Beast King roared as he tore his claws out of Leomon's chest, widening the wound. "WHERE'S YOUR PRIDE & CHIVALRY NOW?!" the mutant continued as he slashed at the Digimon's downed body.
"YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A HOAX!"

"A PHONY!"

"A FALSE HERO!"
SLASH
"YOU'RE WORSE THAN A COWARD" Beast King said as he leaned in close to Leomon, "YOU'RE A FAILURE!".
However, the lion Digimon thrust his head forward, delivering a seismic headbutt to Beast King's face. "GRAH!" the mutant reeled back whilst clutching his face. Lemon managed to climb to his feet & ran from Beast King. "NOT SO FAST!" the mutant shouted as he threw a slash. However, his sense of balance had been completely thrown off by Leomon's last attack, causing him to miss entirely, striking himself instead. As Beast King tried to work out what was wrong, he failed to see an incoming projectile as it stabbed him through the chest. Leomon's sword had embedded itself in Beast King, & it's owner wasn't far behind.
Beast King attempted another slash, but his Confusion made it easy for Leomon to dodge. The lion Digimon proceeded to jump & deliver a roundhouse kick to the mutant's face, causing him to stumble back. Leomon delivered a series of melee strikes, skillfully dodging all of Beast King's moves until the latter finally got a hit in, halting the series of blows. However, Leomon proceeded to fire a bolt of electricity at the sword still embedded in his opponent's chest, the hunk of metal conducting the electricity & shocking Beast King's entire body. The mutant roared in pain & anger. He wouldn't allow his foe to win.
He attempted a slash with his good arm, but was halted by paralysis. Leomon took this moment to pull his sword out of Beast King, tearing through the scorched flesh & drawing profuse blood. With a swift swing, Leomon sliced off Beast King's arm at the shoulder. The mutant attempted to crush Leomon with his bad arm, but was wreaked with paralysis once more. With another slash, Leomon relieved Beast King of his already maimed arm.
With a roar of unbridled rage, Beast King lunged forward, teeth bared at his foe in a last ditch attack. Leomon simply sheathed his sword, drew back his fist, & shouted, "HUNDRED BEASTS FIST!". With one punch, Leomon unleashed a flurry of energy projectiles from his fist, each one impacting Beast King with the force of nuclear warhead. The mutant lion's upper body was blasted to pieces, splattering blood & guts across the city block as his legs fell to the ground.
K.O.!
Leomon breathed a deep sigh of relief. The heroes had been avenged, & the city was free of the beast's terror. He looked around at the damaged city. It could take months to repair. "... perhaps I could lend some assistance".

Sphere Robot: Hey look! The Digimon won without being a horrible crook! Yaaaay.
Vrokorta: On the surface, this might've seemed like a somewhat fair fight. Where Leomon could shatter boulders & trees, Beast King could cleave through buildings & roads.
Sphere Robot: However, Leomon took a huge lead in mentality & arsenal. He was skilled warrior, known to have trained every day. Beast King was careless, & relied only on brute force, which isn't very reliable when your only attack is to slash. Leomon had a sword, martial arts, & his Fist of the Beast King move. That's not to include his moves from the video games, which grant him stat amps, status effects, earth manipulation, air manipulation, electricity manipulation, & even a bit of light manipulation.
Vrokorta: And you might be thinking, "But Beast King had strength over 115 Kilotons. How's Leomon match that?". Easy, remember when we said champion level Digimon can create natural disasters? Well, these feats have been calculated to require anywhere from 27 Megatons to 47 Gigatons. This meant that Leomon, even at his weakest, was over 100x stronger than Beast King.
Sphere Robot: Speed wasn't helping either. We can compare Beast King to characters that can slice a bullet 4 times before it can hit its target, but Leomon is superior to rookie level Digimon, which can react to lightning. That's not to mention how champions can react to light-based attacks. Heck, even some humans can dodge & react to light beams, & Leomon FAR surpasses humans.
Vrokorta: Guess that makes Leomon the real beast king.
Sphere Robot: The winner is Leomon.
Other Fights[]
A Magikarp is seen swimming along aimlessly, until it sees the waters getting mucked up. It breaches the surface to see a strange green slug swimming in the water, leaving a trail of gook in its wake. Magikarp flopped out of the water & slapped the creature, "Augh! No fish is gonna ruin my swimming session!". The slug drew two pink mounds of its own excrement & tossed them at the fish.
