Landia vs Knuckles the Echidna is a What-If? episode of Death Battle and is episode one of season four of Y3p owo's Death Battles. It pits Landia from Kirby against Knuckles the Echidna from Sonic the Hedgehog.

Description[]
Kirby vs Sonic! When it comes to protecting ancient, powerful artifacts, these two red terrifying animals are among the best. But the skills they've picked up through out their time protecting their treasure will now be put to the test. Will Landia be CROWNED the winner, or will Knuckles be the Master of this fight?
Interlude[]
Wiz: Landia, Halcandra's Guardian Angel.
Boomstick: Knuckles the Echidna, Angel Island's protector.
Wiz: No matter what universe you look at, there is always treasures that hold godly power within it. And in each one, there always has to be a guardian to protect said treasures.
Boomstick: So why not have one of those guardians be someone who's main superpower is beating the absolute shit out of you and a literal fucking dragon! He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!
Wiz: And it's our job analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to see who will win... a Death Battle.

Wiz: Halcandra. An inhospitable planet that resides in another dimension. A barren wasteland filled with lava, active volcanoes, and the only inhabitants are robots.
Boomstick: Perfect for your summer getaway.
Wiz: But dwelling within this planet lives not only one of the few things on it with flesh and blood, but it's sole guardian angel: Landia.

Location: Angel Island
Knuckles is seen sitting near by the Master Emerald, his eyes closed as he thinks about what he saw during one of his explorations. While he was wandering through the ancient, underground ruins of his land, he stumbled upon something drawn onto the walls. Unlike the other ancient writing and carvings his people made, which were either about war or Chaos, it was about something else entirely. What he saw was both his tribe of old and Chaos itself struggling to fend off what looked to be a four-headed dragon with a crown upon one of the heads. What more was that it looked like it was trying to steal not only the Master Emerald, but the Chaos Emeralds as well. Seeing as both of them are still around, he pieced together that his ancestors and Chaos either bested it or drove it off by working together. All Knuckles could was look at the drawing with a ting of sorrow, thinking about how his tribe's greed destroyed a once powerful alliance between them and the watery God of Destruction.
"Perhaps it wasn't meant to be..." Knuckles said to himself, rubbing his hand across the drawing. Suddenly, Knuckles hears a noise that pulls him away from his thoughts and back into the now. "What the-!?" Knuckles turns around to see a star-shaped portal opening above him as something seemed to be coming out of it. "Oh, you GOT to be kidding me!" Knuckles said as he quickly rushes over to where the portal is and prepares to face his foe. The creature in the portal finally comes out of it as the portal closes behind it. Knuckles looked at it and almost immediately recognizes what exactly this thing is. It was the four-headed dragon his people fought before, crown and all. It seems that not even the combined forces of the Knuckles Tribe and Chaos was enough to vanquish it.
Little does Knuckles knows, this dragon is known as Landia, and it collects powerful and dangerous artifacts to keep them out of the hands of those who would wish to use them for their own evil purposes, and it knew how powerful both the Master Emerald and Chaos Emeralds were and what would happen if they were to fall into the wrong hands. Though even if Knuckles did know about this, he wouldn't care. After all, it's his life's duty to protect the Master Emerald from being stolen. "Listen, you scaly freak!" Knuckles barked, "I am the last of the Knuckles Tribe, the same tribe you fought and lost to before! And I know EXACTLY what you came here for! But guess what, punk?" He then points at the beast. "YOU AIN'T GETTING THE MASTER EMERALD! So if you don't reopen that portal you came out of and get your four-headed butt back in it, I'm going to finish what my ancestors started!"
The dragon glared at the echidna, knowing that it wouldn't get it's prize without a fight. And this time, they're not leaving empty handed. And so, it gives out a mighty roar that shook the alter for the Emerald as Knuckles rushes towards Landia to give them a knuckle sandwich.

The connection between Landia and Knuckles the Echidna is that Both are red animals that live alone all by themselves in a flying island (Angel Island and Halcandra) and have the job of protecting an ancient item that is known to have unlimited power (Master Emerald and Master Crown). Both get angry and restore to using violence quickly. Both start at first as an enemy for the main characters (Kirby and coo for Landia and Sonic & Tails for Knuckles), fighting them as part of their job. For both of them the reason for them and the main characters to fight was a trick from the main villain of the game that wants nothing but to get the artifact that they protect to conquer the world (Eggman and Magolor) [In contract, Knuckles was the one that get manipulated to fight the heroes while for Landia, the heroes were manipulated to fight her]. Later after Eggman/Magolor get that want all to himself, they team-up and work together with the heroes to stop him. Both can use the power of the item that they protect to power themselves and even get a color-changing form from it (Landia EX and Super/Hyper Knuckles) which both of them can use that item in a way no other can do (Knuckles be the one capable of bringing the Master Emerald true power and Landia be able to use much of the power of the Master Crown without losing herself like what happened to Magolor). Finally Both are related to the ancient civilization that seems to be tied to many bits of lore in both verses (The Echidna Tribe and The Ancients),
