Sandra Wu-San was born in a shanty town under the hold of the League of Shadows, she and her older sister Carolyn later moving to America. But when her sister was murdered by Guano Cravat through a assassin named David Cain, who spared Sandra after seeing her potential. After being defeated by Cain, later giving him a daughter, Sandra is offered a place in the League of Shadows where she reinvents herself as one of its elite members: Lady Shiva.

Shiva is a highly trained and extremely dangerous assassin whose skills were known to be unmatched. She selected many of her targets simply to test her skills, but there were no known survivors. Shiva exploits opportunities to implement several operations that would serve as seeds for massive plans instrumental in her goals.
