Korra Vs. Izuku Midoriya is the 10th episode of ThunderStar20's Death Battles. pitting Korra from the Legend of Korra against Izuku MIdoriya from My Hero Academia.
Description[]
Avatar Vs. My Hero Academia! Two successors of the greatest powers of their worlds are ready to fight it out! Who would be the better of the new era?!
Interlude[]
Metroud: Korra, the latest reincarnation of the Avatar.
Thunder: And Izuku Midoriya, the newest user of powerful quirk of One for All!
Metroid: Being a successor is difficult. To fill in the shoes of the last generation's hero, these two push their limits to prove they were more than ready to keep then world safe.
Thunder: He's Metroid, I'm Thunder!
Metroid: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Korra bends the elements in DEATH BATTLE![]
Metroid: Long ago, there was a hero named Aang, who could control all four elements. He was known as the Avatar.
Thunder: The Avatar isn't some weird title, each Nation of the world can only control one, like Fire, Water, Earth, and Air! But if you're the next reincarnation of the Avatar, you control all four of them!
Metroid: Aang was powerful, but like any living being, his life came to an end. A new Avatar would come, and her name is Korra.
BACKGROUND
Name: Korra
Height 5'7" / 170 cm
Weight: 137 lb / 62 kg
The latest reincarnation of the Avatar
Occupation: Avatar, Pro-Bender, Fight Clubber
Has a pet Polar Bear Dog
She's the Avatar, you gotta deal with it!
Thunder: While Mr. Aang wanted off from the Avatar ride, Korra was all up for being in the front seat! I mean at the age of four, she already was able to bend water, fire and earth!
Metroid: Having been taught martial arts from birth, Korra is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant. And with bending Korra can unleash the elements into attacks from martial art movements. And since Korra is from the Southern Water Tribe, Korra's specialty is waterbending. She can control huge tendrils of waters, make ice for giant walls or even to freeze other foes, and make whirlpools and tsunamis with ease. She can also use it heal, though she never has used it on herself. She can also pacify spirits, or even destroy them with spiritbending.
Thunder: Aang himself actually bended the sea level up to put out a massive amount of fire in the area! With how much water was used, Aang HAD to be moving 35 million metric tons, or 39.44 Megatons of TNT! And Korra does scale to this; it's confirmed each Avatar is stronger than the last!
Metroid: With Earthbending, Korra can move the ground, lifts and throw giant slabs of rock and even massive boulders, or rip open the floor below her enemy's feet. She should scale to Avatar Kyoshi, who once broke broke a large amount from a continent and moved it away with earthbending. By measuring the mass of the now known Kyoshi Island, Kyoshi displacing it far away would take 21 gigatons of TNT.
Thunder: Korra can even metalbend, where she can manipulate metal and use it for armor to just throw it at foes! And even greater, Korra knows firebending, where she can let out blasts, streams, and waves of fire! She can create jets of fire from her her feet and hands to fly, and even breathe fire like a dragon!
Metroid: While she mastered all of those no problem, airbending was a bit...difficult for her. It was zen, freeflowing, calm, and Korra's own aggressive attitude made her the polar opposite of it. But after losing bending to Amonm the subsequent stress caused by Amon's imminent attack to take away Mako's bending allowed her to force them open, unlocking her ability to airbend,
Thunder: With airbending, Korra can make strong blasts or gusts of wind, create tornados to suck up enemies or fly in, or create Aang's air scooter to zip across the field heavily! Which is good, but Korra's got good reaction speed. She can keep up with Amon, who actually dodged lightning, which was over 200 times the speed of sound. She should also scale to Zuko, since Zaheer outwitted him pretty well while Korra genuinely gave him trouble!
Metroid: Zuko managed to block lightning. Since the distance from Zuko to screen is 0.45m, and Zuko moved his hand 0.2062m before the lightning made contact, Zuko must have reacted at Mach 592.5. This assisted with Korra;s airbending training, where she is taught to maneuver around obstacles. But one of the biggest factors of Korra, is that she also acts as the bridge between the mortal and spirit worlds.
Thunder: Korra's infused with the spirit of light, Raava! In fact, ever since Wan, the first Avatar, infused with her, that began the Avatar cycle. So each and every reincarnation has Raava renting their body for about a lifetime. Korra can give away or take bending with energybending, which she also used to block a giant shot Kuvira's spirit cannon! This can range from 3.6004 to 20.5627 Megatons of TNT!
Metroid: She should also scale to Avatar Yangchen, who moved several clouds, calculated at 2.11 gigatons of TNT. But if that's not enough, Korra can activate the Avatar state, where Raava essentially assists Korra's elemental power.
Thunder: Raava's top dog of all the spirits. This includes the Moon Spirit, who recreated the moon after the old Moon Spirit was killed!
Metroid: One could argue this being merely hax, but there's equally no context to believe it's a hax ability. The Moon Spirit does have abilities noted in the series, which is the manipulation of water and the tides, which is how the first human waterbenders learned the craft. Additionally, the Sea Spirit holds domain over the ocean, and if you actually measure the liters of water in the ocean, and convert liters to tons, you get 135000000000000000000000000000 tons. Now Avatar State Korra shouldn't be considered THAT STRONG, since we don't really have evidence of the Sea Spirit using the entire ocean's water supply compared to the Moon Spirit recreating the moon, but it's more-so evidence toward the power the Sea Spirit could potentially have, which would help support the Avatar state's scaling.
Thunder: Granted, she doesn't get a durability boost from this. One good hit and the girl's going down, even if you can't match her power directly! She's a glass cannon, as Metroid calls it! And it's also a risk, if she dies, so does Raava, and the Avatar cycle. Luckily she has Healing Water to heal up, and Katara's Oasis Water can revive her if she goes down!
Metroid: But failure was what ended up making Korra stronger. From Amon taking away her bending, to Unalaq destroying her connection to her past lives, and the Red Lotus poisoning her, Korra always managed to push herself back up after suffering, even after getting PTSD for three years wasn't enough to keep her out of the fight.
Thunder: No matter what life threw at her, from anarchists, a facist empire, or Unalaqking any interesting motives, Korra always went in, showing the world just how powerful the Avatar can be.
Metroid: As Tenzin said, Korra had done far more than most Avatars had done in their entire lifetimes. From a hot-headed teen who wanted to gloat of her status to a girl who can show empathy to even those who brought her pain, Korra had truly grown and developed into an Avatar worthy of the title her past lives wielded before her.
"No matter what happens, no matter how crazy things get, I'll always try to restore balance."
Thunder: ...Oh by the way, she's dating Asami!
Izuku gives his One for All in DEATH BATTLE![]
Metroid: One day in China, a child was born with the ability to illuminate. What was thought to be a rare condition soon became a new way of life.
Thunder: Yeah, these weird powers started making leeway all over the world, with each person getting unique ones! Electricity, Anti-Gravity, even making explosions from your sweaty hands!
Metroid: Eventually the world became like comic books. 80% of the entire world had these powers, which were called Quirks. The remaining 20% were normal people, called Quirkless.
Thunder: And who was one these Quirkless? None other than Izuku Midoriya!
BACKGROUND
Height: 166 cm (5'5¼")
Age: 16
Hero Name: Deku
Occupation: UA High Student, Vigilante for a month or so
Probably the biggest superhero fanboy in existence
Metroid: When Izuku was younger, he and his best friend Katsuki Bakugou were fans of the great hero All Might. So when Bakugou got his Quirk, Izuku was excited, awaiting for his.
Thunder: Then it turns out he had two joints on his pinkie toe! Which meant Izuku was gonna be Quirkless. So uh, Izuku got depressed his dreams of being a hero got crushed harder than a hydralic press to a bowling ball.
Metroid: It didn't help that his mother unintentionally shot down his dreams too, and when Bakugou found out, he resorted to bullying Izuku, even calling him "Deku" which means "Useless" in Japanese. This bullying continued throughout his life, until one fateful day.
Thunder: When he was suddenly attacked by a slimey villains from the sewers! This would've killed him, but guess what? All Might suddenly showed up and punched the slime off him!
Metroid: With his favorite hero in front of him, Izuku asked the question he wanted a different answer to; can one become a hero without a Quirk?
Thunder: And All Might said no, like everyone else. But then he changed his mind when he saw Izuku rush up to save Bakugou when the slime monster from before grabbed him, despite the other heroes not taking action.
Metroid: With this, All Might put Izuku through months of grueling training. After it was complete and Izuku was ready, All Might transferred his Quirk, One for All, to him by giving him a piece of hair and having him eat it.
Thunder: The hell?
Metroid: Izuku needed All Might's DNA for him to aquire One for All.
Thunder: Weird way to get it but oh well. And Izuku hit the jackpot, because One for All is the top dog Quirk, with the only way to get it being by being chosen! In other words, Izuku was chosen as the next user! And good thing too, All Might was actually injured and slowly losing his ability to become a hero.
Metroid: And One for All is demostrated well; in his entrance exam, Izuku was able to smash a giant robot as big as a skyscraper, with the sheer impact destroying several stories in a building and knocked the robot over.
Thunder: He's able to throw a baseball 150 feet into the air by only applying One for All TO A FINGER ONLY! And without using One for All, he was able to damage a villain bots armor, using nothing but a slab of metal! And those handsome babies can tank explosions worth 0.36 tons of TNT!
Metroid: When fighting Todoroki in the UA Sports Festival, he was able to destroy his building size ice formations. Do note that the smaller formations have an output of 7.06 megatons and 10.26 kilotons, and his larger formarions, like the Heaven-Piercing Ice Wall, have an enerty output of 11.76 megatons. And in the same fight, created a massive explosion that engulfed the stadium they were in. One for All's also got percentages in play, so Izuku has various power levels.
Thunder: At just 5%, he easily shattered Wolfram's steel beams, calcing at about 4.79 tons. He was even able to go toe to toe with Bakugou, who can make explosions worth about 500 kilotons! Hell, he can survive point-blank blasts from them, so Izuku is pretty damn tough!
Metroid: Izuku also is able to knock down All Might, who, despite his weakened state, managed to destroy a whole street earlier in that fight. He also ran through steel walls with little issue.
Thunder: He should be superior to a fodder villain who sliced a boat in half, getting about 0.887 Tons of TNT from that!
Metroid: Izuku has held open an orca's jaws, has destroyed thick walls, kicked through a giant stone monster, and smashed masses of swords with a single kick. He once jump and physically held down a helicopter, which weigh 1,200 pounds. He was even able to fight while holding up a construction beam.
Thunder: Hell, he can go toe to toe with Endeavor, who survived an attack that pulverized a city block! A calc shows this to be 6.30 Kilotons of TNT!
Metroid: It is to note that Izuku was various power level percentages, so his strength isn't always the same. With this in mind, let's take note of his special moves, such as Detroit Smash, an uppercut that's strong enough to smash through every story in a building and destroy most of it's roof.
Thunder: With Delaware Smash, Izuku flicks his fingers with enough force to release air bursts that can saw through Shoto's ice formations and create whirlpools in water!
Metroid: There's also 100% Detroit Smash, where Izuku goes all out when performing the attack. There's also 1,000,000% Detroit Delaware Smash, which is a stronger, combined version of the moves.
Thunder: Also, when at 100%, Izuku can perform Wyoming Smash, where he just contains the power in his arms and smashes both fists into his opponent's head!
Metroid: And with Texas Smash, he throws right punch with enough power to produce wind pressure covering part of a city. It also helped heavily against healing factors.
Thunder: And his finishing move in 100% is United States of World Smash, where he just goes ham before finishing you off with a kick!
Metroid: Now, these techniques are powerful, but most of them strain Izuku's body heavily. To avoid breaking his arms like he did on his first few times using his Quirk, Izuku developed new moves under Shoot Style, which use his legs.
Thunder: There's Manchester Smash, where he leaps up and does a axe kick to your head! And with St. Louis Smash, he instead goes for a roundhouse kick!
Metroid: At just 20%, St. Louis Smash can generate a tornado from the force alone. The destrutive power would equal about 127.53 Tons of TNT. But when Deku really wants to go all out, he can go 100% Full Cowling. With this, Izuku utilizes the full power of One for All. To show how strong this form is, Izuku, with Bakugou, uppercutted the air and dispirsed a giant thunderstorm covering an island. This would take up to 438.94 Megatons of TNT to pull off.
Thunder: Think that's crazy? Izuki dislocated Shigaraki's jaw! And that guy was unfazed by a barrage of intercontinental missiles hitting him, the combined blast being 381.03 Megatons of TNT!
Metroid: Together with All Might, they were able to smash a giant steel cube to be pieces, getting about from the force applied to be 3.91 Megatons of TNT. All Might even created a literal thunderstorm from one of his attacks alone. Bakugou once melted part of a mountain, with enough energy for 5.48 Megatons of TNT, and Izuku overpowered a barrier the same attack failed to damage.
Thunder: But uh, turns out Izuku doesn't just get crazy strong from One for All. The Quirks from the previous users started popping in, so he had a helluva lot more to master!
Metroid: Such as Black Whip, which is a Quirk that lets Izuku sprout out black tendrils that can be used for long ranged attacks, grapple to buildings, or grab items and throw them at foes, like cars, for example. He can even perform "Froppy Style", where he shoots it out of his mouth instead, useful if his limbs are restrained. Another use is to hold his bones together when they break from the full force of One for All.
Thunder: He can also Float! Which he can use to make sure someone doesn't hit the ground or just keep himself in the air!
Metroid: Izuku also has Danger Sense, which allows him to sense incoming threats. This gives Midoriya a good chance to react to any incoming danger or get notified of any threats before they even happen, such as attacks that blitz his friends, to moments before disaster can strike.
Thunder: There's also the Smokescreen, where Izuku generates smoke all over, blinding his opponents while letting him get away, or letting him get the jump on them.
Metroid: And lastly, Fa Jin builds up kinetic energy from repeated body movements. Once released, he gains a MASSIVE boost in speed and power. He can even release them in bursts.
Thunder: Which is insane, since Izuku is already really fast! He always dodges Bakugou's explosions, once dodged close-range bullets in a narrow staircase without getting hit, he raised his arm to block a pistol bullet, and he should scale to Mirio, who can react to them!
Metroid: He has reacted to the movements of Grand Tornio and Camie, who easily move faster than the eye can see. Izuku was also able to capture Shinsou's capture device before it grabbed Uraraka, which requires speeds of 492.86 m/s, or Mach 1.44.
Thunder: Hell, Izuku's kept up with Todoroki, who can fight evenly with Bakugou, who's dodged Kaminari's lightning! That's around massively hypersonic if you're curious!
Metroid: Izuku can keep up with Endeavor, who can move at the speed of sound. Izuku also was able to leap across a room to catch All Might before Shigaraki could touch him. Note that Shigaraki overwealmed Overhaul with just speed; and Overhaul dodged Sir Nighteye's projectiles, which were calced at Mach 8.8.
Thunder: But 100% is where Izuku REALLY goes fast! Like he can keep up with All Might, who can go at speeds of Mach 26.24 from travelling from Roppongi to Tokyo Sky Egg in a single second! He even crossed 30 kilometers in a matter of 5 seconds!
Metroid: He also can move dozens of times faster than a sniper bullet, with a distance of 1.42 meters With this, Izuku had to be moving at least 112267.9 m/s, or Mach 327.31.
Thunder: Here's another thing Izuku can do; with the help of the previous wielders, he can resist brainwashing! He can even use his rage to power up!
Metroid: Izuku is also tough, being able to take a blow from a restrained All Might, which had 6.38 kilotons of energy in it. And remember how strong we calced Bakugou's explosions? Izuku has taken multiple explosions from them and was left with only minor burns.
Thunder: He surviving gettingcrushed by metal pillars worth 3.76 Tons of TNT, a REALLY PAINFUL landing on solid metal that calced at 3.55 Tons, getting punched into buildings by a restrained All Might, and jumping into a wall while using 5% of his power, and was A-OK!
Metroid: He survived being repeatedly stabbed, having gray matter ooze out of his head, and being electrocuted. In fact, Izuku was once electrocuted for four seconds by Nine, who's lightning shut down an entire island's power. Deku withstood a fire blast from Dabi all over his body. Dabi's fire can effortlessly vaporize a large wall of ice, giving out 154.71 Tons of TNT.
Thunder: And even if Izuku's gonna get injured, he can still make a come back because this kid has crazy pain tolerance! When he broke an arm and two legs and was falling to his death, he was actually thinking of a plan instead of crying in pain! Hell, he can STILL PUNCH AND KICK WITH HIS BROKEN ARMS AND LEGS LIKE THEY'RE PERFECTLY FINE.
Metroid: But if we're being honest, his greatest assest is his intelligence. Izuku has gotten out of intense life-or-death situations by thinking of complex plans on the spot. He can even read the movements of his opponents, even if they're faster than him.
Thunder: This works even against people who have way more experience than him! He can even analyze someone's fighting style and figure out how to make it backfire! From stuff from your weaknesses to the minor things like how you act, he's keeping an eye out for anything he can take advantage of!
Metroid: In fact, Izuku's brains led to his hero costume gaining gloves that allow him to shoot out air blasts. These air blasts are named Air Force, and Izuku has a special move; Delaware Smash Air Force; which he uses akin to a gun. He can even combine this with Float to essentially achieve flight.
Thunder: Too bad he can't go all out all the time. Stupid glass cannon gig...
Metroid: Still, it proves Izuku is a responsible user of One for All, rather than a reckless one. As time went on he slowly grew more capable of becoming quite possibly it's greatest user. Soon, he will be capable of not only surpassing All Might, but becoming the new No. 1 hero.
"I have to work harder than anyone else to make it! I'll never catch up otherwise...! I want to be like you...! Like you. The strongest hero."
Prelude[]
Metroid: Alright, the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all the possibilities.
Thunder: It's time for a Death Battle!
Pre-Fight[]
In the vast city of...well, Republic City, a gang of Red Lotus members were in a alleyway, having big plans; to kill the Avatar and the president.
"Alright, you all got the idea? She's coming around this corner." The leader spoke, with the three others nodding. They were unaware someone else was on the rooftop across the street.
"There's the villains. Alright, let's do this." Izuku Midoriya, who had gone solo and away from UA to deal with the League of Villains on his own, was in Republic City after hearing word that some Red Lotus members were likely aiding the League of Villains.
The second the Lotus members were about to jump out, Izuku zipped forth, kicking them all with one strike. Korra, who was about to pass that very alleyway was caught by surprise.
"What the heck was that?" Heading over, Korra and Izuku looked at each other, before Korra noticed rhe uniforms on the Red Lotus members.
"Wow. You took out some Red Lotus jerks pretty easily. What's your name?" Korra asked, with Izuku replying, "It's Deku."
"Wait, you mean that kid who was at that sports festival? I heard you fought pretty crazy there!" Izuku rubbed his head at Korra's words. "Thanks, but I gotta get going. See you around."
"Wait, how about a spar? I only got to heard what you could do on radio. I wanna see whatcha got!' Korra exclaimed.
"I...I'm not sure if that's a good idea." Izuku said, with Korra quickly replying with. "Come on, what's the worst that'll happen?"
Seeing Korra was a bit stubborn, Izuku gave in. "Alright. Let's do this." With both fighters up and ready, a very likely to be collateral fight was gonna break out.
Fight[]
(The Legend of Korra - Counter Attack)
Korra, ever the aggressor, used her Earthbending to rip out chunks of concrete out of the ground. Using what Bolin had taught her, she threw two out and punched the third one last.
Izuku looked up, and dodging the first two slabs of Earth, followed up by punching the last slab to pebbles.
Korra was quick to attack, though, with her using waterbending to bend a nearby puddle and send it towards Izuku's face. "Heads up!"
Izuku got splashed in the face, but he shrugged it off rather easily. What he didn't expect was for Korra to stomp her feet into the ground, causing the concrete under Izuku's feet, sending him up into the air.
"You can manipulate water and control earth...so you have two Quirks!" Izuku noted, but Korra was merely left confused by his words. "Quirks? What are you talking about?"
Using airbending to blast herself upwards to Deku, she launched a burst of fire out at him, forcing the wielder of One for All to shield as he was pushed back
"So it's a Quirk that let's her control the elements!" Landing down to the street below him, Izuku used Black Whip to launch a tendril at Korra, who was still in the air.
It yanked Korra down, who let out a yell as she was thrown across the street, but luckily she managed to get back on her feet after tumbling across the floor.
"What kind of bending was that?!" Korra questioned, as another tendril came close to her. "Can't risk getting physical for now, got to stay in good condition!"
Seeing the tendrils coming forth, Korra performed a somersault kick, whilst covering her legs in flames. Izuku retracted the Black Whip tendrils swiftly, just to be met by Korra's fist to his face. Now, he was pummelled rapidly very much akin to a Stand user's strikes, before being kicked through the wall behind a building.
The successor for All Might immediately got up, as Korra went in to try and go for a second fire covered kick. Deku leaped over it, and Korra ended up only destroying a box full of cabbages, roasting them finely.
Looking up, Korra let out a mighty roar that made fire burst out of her mouth. Izuku planted his feet on the ceiling and launched himself down, punching Korra into the floor. It was enough force to make her bounce off the ground, the concrete cracking underneath it. With this Deku reeled his fist back before performing an specific uppercut...
"Detroit Smash!"
(Music Stops)
Outside the building, the owner of it smiled happily as he approached it, ready to open the doors. When he was about to unlock it, however, the force of Detriot Smash blew apart the building rubble.
After staring in horror, he let out a cry of despair.
"NOOOOOOOOO! NOT MY CABBAGECORP!!!" He fell to his knees, in comical tears.
(My Hero Academia - Katsuki and Izuku)
Back in the fight, Korra yelled as she was launched into the air, but managed to regain her baring and ise airbending to keep herself from hitting the ground painfully. She looked up, seeing Deku closing the distance with his leg out.
She avoided his attack fast, dodging swiftly before elbowing his chest. She then went for a air blast, but Deku intercepted with a punch to her head. With this opening found, Izuku went in with another technique; "St. Louis SMAAAAASH!"
The roundhouse kick struck Korra, and also created a tornado that was visible to most of the citizens of Republic City. The kick was strong enough that, at first, Korra was too dizzy to do anything.
"Urgh...wha...?" Korra mumbled, as she was thrown around in the tornado. Izuku began approaching, reaching to grab her by the arm. Upon doing so, he threw into some debris. Before he could do anymore, Korra finally regained her senses.
Using swift movement, Korra used some of the wind from the tornado to create an Air Scooter. She'd use airbending to rip a opening in the tornado, Korra used the Air Scooter in order to zip around and fly out safely.
"So he's also an airbender? Harmonic Convergence must have given airbending to benders as well..." Korra noted to herself, before firing some air blasts at Deku, who was following after her.
The hero would look flip past her attacks, kicking over a metal pole and sending it to Korra. Although surprised, Korra used metalbending to morph it into a ball that she threw back.
With a yell, Deku punched through the metal ball, reducing it to bits, prompting a surprised "Wow." from the Avatar. His fist still clenched, Deku came closer, prompting Korra to dispherse her air scooter to leap away.
The ground cracked apart from that, with Korra sighing in relief from getting away. A relief that barely lasted, as Deku would lift his hand up and flick his finger, resulting in a powerful blast of wind forcing Korra back!
Hitting a nearby water tank, thus causing it to spill water, Korra grunted, before seeing Deku closing in. Looking down to the water on the street, Korra smirked before placing her hand on it. Once he came close, the water turned into ice, locking Deku into place! Korra then used some of the water from the water tank, and turned into water whips.
Now getting struck all over, Deku growled before using enough of One for All to burst out of the ice. "What the?! How did he--" Korra barely could express her shock, as Deku performed another attack; "MANCHESTER SMASH!"
The axe kick hit Korra in the back of the head, causing some pretty heavy pain as the ground bursted into cracks. Korra groaned, and saw Deku coming closer. Luckily, she regained enough strength to kick him back, but Izuku wasn't stopped. With a another flick, Deku cried out "Delaware Smash!"
Korra was knocked back, and gritted her teeth as she slowly staggered up. "Starting to feel not so good...good thing I packed some Healing Water today."
Korra would use waterbending to bend the healing water on her to heal her injuries. The Avatar would see Deku coming FAST, and quickly used the healing water for something else; for a flim of water that shot ice daggers!
The wielder of One for All's Danger Sense was set off, with Deku avoiding each and every one, before calling out "Froppy Style!", a black tendril flying out of his mouth. Believing it to be a weird form of waterbending, Korra attempted to waterbend it...just to fail and be dragged towards Izuku.
"Here it goes! 25%!" Deku delivered a barrage of punches, Korra grunting with each strike to her body. He'd then punch her back, sending her through a wall of a house...but luckily for the Avatar, she landed in her feet and rose a piece of the earth out of the ground before kicking it to Deku.
Jumping up, Deku used Float to stay in the air, and Black Whip to catch the rock tossed at him. Korra, seeing him float, just grumbled "Great, getting memories of Zaheer now..." She would see the rock being swung at her, and charged in, using firebending to make the rock burst.
Seeing Deku coming down, Korra raised up pillars of Earth to shield herself. Sadly, it wasn't very effective.
"Full Cowling; 45%!" Deku cried out, and once he reached the pillar, punched through, and grabbed Korra, blitzing across the street and ripping apart the ground, before throwing her towards the (surprisingly empty) park.
Being throw aside, Korra grunted, wiping some dirt and grass off her face before turning to Izuku, who was now starting to have electricity covering his body.
"Lightningbending, airbending, and some form of bending I've never seen before?! I thought only I can control more than one form of bending, being the Avatar and all..." Korra said to herself, getting Izuku's attention.
"The Avatar? You're one of the biggest heroes of all time! No wonder you have that elemental manipulation Quirk, that's what you're known for!" Deku said, his fanboy side leaking out, with Korra chuckling with a small "Thanks" at the end of it.
"Is 'Quirk' what they call bending in Japan? Well anyway..." Korra took another fighting stance. "Wanna keep going?"
"Yeah, let's do this!" Deku said. Both heroes charged at each other; a miniture tornado covering Korra's fist while Izuku's had his coated in electricity. Both struck each other hard across the face...and while Korra was merely sent back, Deku was launched into the Spirit Portal left the fight against Kuvira.
(Music Stops)
In the Spirit World...[]
All was calm in the Spirit World. The Spirits meditated, wandered around, and the souls of those desceased were exploring their afterlife's new home.
But then, Deku would fly out of the portal, screaming as he was launched like a speedy bullet. He soon hit the ground, but tumbled across it and fell off a cliff, into a foggy area.
When Deku got up, all he saw around him was the fog. It was all he could hear as well. "Hello? Is anyone there?" He called out, but no reply.
"Hello? Anybody?" He continued calling, to no avail. After awhile, he would begin to walk around, just to lose balance to uneven flooring.
Deku rubbed his head, before looking behind him to see that it wasn't because of uneven flooring; he had tripped over a pink ball, who looked tired and...sad. Before Deku could apologize, the puffball muttered "Poyo..." and went off into the fog.
"H-Hey! Wait! I'm sorry!" Izuku tried to say, but it was gone. After a bit, he would hear footsteps. "Kids?! Richard? Where are you?!"
Deku watched as a tall blue cat ran around, looking frantic. Before he could say something, she saw him, and suddenly ran over to him. "Do you know where my kids are?!"
"N-No, do you need help--" Izuku's question was cut short when the cat suddenly blared in rage, "STOP LYING! TELL ME WHERE THEY ARE RIGHT NOW!"
"I said I don't know!" Deku cried out. Seeing the cat about to attack, he shot an air bullet to send her away. He sighed, before hearing a voice.
Turning around, he would see a teen in a pink jacket, and a black shirt with a star emblem on it, holding his head whilst looking stressed to the point of tears. "E-Everything's fine...I-I'm okay! I'll get out of this okay...!"
"Hey! I'm here to--" Deku paused when he saw what he believed was...All Might. Standing there...looking disappointed. His head was filling with thoughts of failures, and he almost cracked.
See how I said almost? Because just then, the eight past users of One for All appeared briefly in front of him, and cleared out his head from the fog's effects. All Might faded, proving to be fake this whole time.
With a sigh, Deku put on his game face as he quickly grabbed the pink jacket-wearing teen. "Huh?" Before the teen could process, the hero lifted him and leaped out of the fog, escaping and saving him.
Upon landing to safer land, he helped the teen up. "Wha-What's going on?!" The teen asked, but Deku was quick to reassure him; "You're safe now. You won't get hurt there anymore."
The teen got teary eyed, but wiped them and said "Thank you." He ran off, as Izuku rushed off to find his foe.
Meanwhile, Korra was soaring about with her glider, looking for Izuku. "Hey! Deku! You here anywhere?!" Upon seeing a green figure moving below, she weny down and landed next to him.
"There you are! Sorry about that." Korra said with a nervous chuckled, with Deku smiling. "No need to worry! I even saved someone...so what is this place, anyway?"
"It's the Spirit World. Where Spirits and departed souls are. I've been here a few times." Korra explained, with Deku...beginning to panic. "Wait, am I dead?!"
"No, no! You got sent through a Spirit Portal, you're alive!" Korra frantically explained, with Deku sighing in relief. "So...we still sparring?"
"Yeah. Let's go." Deku said back. Korra smiled. "Just let me kick things up a bit."
Korra would then close her eyes, before reopening them, her eyes now glowing. She had now activated the Avatar state.
(Battle Theme 1 - My Hero One's Justice
Deku took first crack at it, with him firing off another air bullet at Korra. The Avatar noticed this, and countered with her own air blast, causing both to be pushed back. Korra looked up, and narrowly dodged a kick from the future no.1 hero.
Deku's landing made rocks rise from the ground, and he used this to his advantage; he used his air bullets to launch them directly towards Korra. The Avatar responded by bending both the rocks and air, launching them back to sender.
Deku leaped over, and reeled his fist back. Korra responded by unleashing a giant wave of fire...which Izuku bursted through; and if Korra was bringing out the big guns, so would he!
"1,000,000%, DELAWARE DETROIT SMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSHHHHH!!!"
Despite Korra setting up an air shield to protect herself from the attack, it's sheer force launched her faster than the eye can see across the Spirit World. Korra eventually made a rough landing in a more grassy spot, looking forward as Deku was closing in.
"Hey, think fast!" Korra called, before lifting two fists up as if she was pulling something back. Deku awaited her next move...before suddenly being encased in rocks.
"Heh. Guess I won." Korra said...before hearing Deku yell out "DETROIT SMASH!!", then smashing through it.
Letting out a loud yell, Izuku attempted to strike her with a flying kick, but Korra used a nearby river to sent a whip of water to grab him before throwing him aside.
"Phew! You're really pushing me. You're definitely tougher than Zaheer and Kuvira, that's for sure." Korra complimented. "I can say the same for you. You hold your own against my Quirk really well!" Deku claimed.
"But, let's end our little sparring session. I think it's about time we find our winner!" Korra said, and both finally rushed in, dealing rapidfire blows to one another, almost like a famous Stand Rush...without stands.
But after awhile, Izuku managed to hit her in the face, causing her to stagger back. She was then hit across the face again, before Deku went in for another attack: "ST. LOUIS SMASH!"
The kick was dodged, but tornado that was generated from the force dragged Korra away. She was about ready to bend, but was restrained by Black Whip.
"Wyoming..." Putting 100% into his arms, Deku lifted his hands up as he got close. "SMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!"
His fists force was enough to brutally injure Korra. She coughed up blood, as the tornado dissipated and she began to slowly fall to the ground. As her eyes began to close...
...A voice called out to her.
"Korra."
"...R...Raava...?"
"Don't give up. Your era is not over yet."
Just as Korra was about to hit the ground...her eyes snapped open. Her body glowed with the symbols of Raava. Katara's Oasis Water had come into play...and the Avatar State awakened again, this time with Korra doing it from survival instinct.
Now creating her own giant tornado, Korra turned to Deku, who looked on in amazement.
"So this is your full power..." Deku spoke in awe, before looking more serious. "Then I'll go...BEYOND! FULL COWLING! 100%!!"
Deku was then and there covered in electricity. His hair turned more blue and he looked far more powerful than before.
It's time for the finale.
(You Say Run - My Hero Academia)
The first thing Korra did was cause an earthquake. But Deku was quick to jump, reeling his fist back with an angry look. He attempted to hit her in the stomach but Korra merely waterbended him away.
Using Float to stay airborne, Izuku held his hand again. "DELAWARE SMASH!" The attack blasted out a giant burst of wind, and broke his fingers; his arms looking more purple than what Wyoming Smash did to him. Korra, however, bended the blast to be her shield.
"Doesn't matter how many bones I break...I will win!" Izuku yelled, as he plunged forth and performed "100% DETRIOT SMASH!"...to which Korra countered with a barrage of rocks.
Dodging the blow, Korra glared, before noticing the area getting darker. Turning around, she saw what seemed to be millions of fists raining down onto her.
Deku's fists smashed into her like crazy. Letting out a yell of pain, Korra felt each and every one...but soon gritted her teeth as she would start using all forms of bending; fire, earth, air, water, and released in a giant burst that was visible from far away.
Deku yelled out as he was launched through the ground, destroying the lovely grass. The elemental burst had hurt him rather severely; blood coming from his mouth, chest, arms...but yet, he still pushed himself to get up.
"I'm not going to give up...I still have so much to do..." Deku coughed out. Despite his arms being broken, and his legs weakly wobbling, he was willing to keep on fighting. The second he saw Korra coming dowm fast, he called out one of the past user's Quirks.
"SMOKESCREEN, FULL BLAST!" A giant cloud of smoke covered the area, leaving Korra blinded. She was quick to use airbending to clear the smoke away, but no Deku.
Then she heard a voice call out behind her.
"FA JIN!"
Deku began rushing around her, leaving afterimages in his wake. "I'll go beyond....PLUS ULTRA!" Korra launched all forms of bending out, to no avail, only hitting the afterimages. It wasn't long before she was pummelled all over from full-power punches courtsey of Deku. "UNITED STATES..."
Another punch launched Korra into a wall, making her cough up blood. "...OF WORLD..."
Finally, Deku charged in with a flying kick, ready to finish the fight once and for all. "...SSSSMMMMMAAAAAASSSSSSSHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Korra looked up as the kick slowly came in closer, and closed her eyes...
...As fire rushed to her hands.
(Avatar State - The Legend of Korra)
Within the very small time she had to react, Korra ducked under the kick, which caused Deku to hit the mountain wall instead. Before he could take action, Korra landed a strike towards his abdomen, sending him skyhigh.
Izuku's danger sense kicked in, but by then, Korra was upclose, and planting her foot into Izuku's chest...then rapidly kicking him firebending-embued kicks, before kicking him away.
Before anything else, Korra lifted up a giant ball of water (some with the healing water she had) before launching out water blasts at her foe. Deku was struck, but powered through to throw out a punch.
Said punch was countered by Korra hitting Deku across the face, which in turn created a giant tornado that sucked him up into the air. At the peak, Korra lifted up a giant slab of rocks, and threw it down.
CRRRRAASSSSSSSHHHH!!!
(Music stops)
The rock crushed Deku into the ground, a loud cry of agony echoing. Korra lowered down, and stood tall...
(Service and Sacrifice - The Legend of Korra)
And gasped in horror when she saw Izuku's state; bloodied, broken, and faintly breathing. It was enough to snap her out of the Avatar State, and despite injuries, went over to him as quickly as possible.
"No! No, no, no! I didn't mean to do this..!" Korra cried out desperately, pulling out the healing water...only having found it barely having anything. Despite knowing it wouldn't do anything with how little there was, Korra desperately bending it across Deku's body.
"C'mon...start working..." Korra practically begged, as Deku slowly looked to her. He saw her face...there was no faking it. In his eyes, Korra lost control and ended up dealing too much harm. "A-Avatar..." He weakly spoke, getting her attention.
"D-Deku! I'm sorry! I wasn't able to hold back! I'll get you to a hospital, just hang on!" Korra's words made Deku smile, before he regrettable said these next words.
"I...I don't...think I'll make it...I'm bleeding out too fast..." Deku replied, causing Korra to get upset at his words. "You don't know that! If there's a chance, I have to at least try!"
"Avatar..." Izuku's words stopped, but he sighed as reached up to his hair, plucked out a strain and gave it to her. "My Quirk...One for All...I'm passing it to you."
"What are you talking about? Don't give up now!" Korra said, trying to urge him to keep going, which Deku only responded with...
"I'm not going to survive...please...once you eat my hair, my DNA will be passed to you...you will have One for All..." He weakly spoke. "Do it...for me."
The reality of the situation finally settleing on her, Korra shedded tears but nodded, taking the strain of hair swallowing it down.
"And...please...stop Shigaraki....in Japan..." Izuku said, coughing up blood, to which Korra looked at him before nodding. "I will."
"Thank you..." Deku smiled...before his hand went limp. His breathing stopped. His body was still. He was...gone.
Tears going down her face, Korra eventually wiped them as she lifted up the body. She began walking back to the Spirit Portal, hoping to at least give him a proper burial.
Then, she'd chase after Deku's enemies to keep her promise. No matter what.
Results[]
Thunder: ...Wait, so would the Avatar count as Korra's hero name or...
Metroid: Izuku was a powerful foe, but Korra happened to be far better than what one would believe her to be.
Thunder: When it comes to PHYSICAL STRENGTH, Izuku had her beat. She was a pretty good fighter, but Izuku's had crazy destruction feats with physical strength alone! In a lone physical fight, she'd be SMASHED.
Metroid: And while Korra WAS faster, since Izuku can only move about Mach 300 while Korra can react at Mach 500, Izuku's Danger Sense and his precognitive powers let him keep up with Korra.
Thunder: But that was kinda not gonna be as advantageous as you'd think. Korra's been trained from birth, and so was more skilled! And since her series went over four years of adventures over Izuku's one year.
Metroid: Plus, Korra's bending puts her high above Izuku's paygrade, which was an Island level feat via scaling to Kyoshi, since all Avatars are stronger than the previous. While Deku at 100% can certainly reach similar levels, Korra's island feat was in the gigaton range while Izuku's island scaling was only in the megaton range.
Thunder: Plus, Korra's kinda more versatile. Izuku's ranged options are just air bullets and getting physical, while Korra can use all four elements in all sorts of ways, giving her more options to attack from long range! Heck, one of Izuku's long range options breaks his damn fingers if used with too much power!
Metroid: In fact that's another plus for Korra; her powers don't have drawbacks, while Izuku risks his limbs, and more. And with the air bullets, Korra can bend air, so bending those back was an option for her.
Thunder: Her metalbending could have also been used for fucking with the metal soles! It also helps Korra can heal herself with healing water, or even get a revive from Katara's Oasis Water! Meanwhile Izuku ain't got healing tactics at all.
Metroid: Now, Izuku COULD win by analyzing the fight and going for a surprise attack or keeping Korra from moving, or Fa Jin boosting him to Korra's level power and speed. Since Korra does not have as much pain tolerance as Izuku does, this means he could win with a good hit, especially with 100%.
Thunder: But Korra's got ways around it, I mean, Fa Jin's kinda situational, and with how crazy versatile bending can be used, especially since Korra can use all four elementals and many different ways! Izuku would need to constantly analyze every little possible outcome.
Metroid: And lastly, the Avatar State can buff Korra to potentially Moon Level which is sheer overkill. While yes, this is mostly viewed as iffy, Korra's other advantages over Izuku made it so she was more likely to win, with or without Moon Level Avatar State. Izuku was powerful and fitting for the future of heroes, but Korra's speed, bending prowess and skill sealed her victory.
Thunder: Don't get bend outta shape, Izuku just had his legend end a bit early.
Metroid: The winner is Korra.
