King Kong VS Gwangi is a What-If? Death Battle written by DiAma1.
Note that because Kong has wildly different backstories and sizes in different canons, this battle will be using the original 1933 version.
Interlude[]
Wiz: Far beyond the edge of civilization, there lie pockets of wilderness that are home to ancient wonders the likes of which mankind has never seen.
Boomstick: Like King Kong, the Eighth Wonder of the World.
Wiz: And Gwangi, the vicious Allosaurus. But which of these two titans of classic film will come out on top?
Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skill to find out who would win a Death Battle!
Kong[]
Wiz: Isolated in the Pacific Ocean, there lies an island with a giant skull-shaped mountain. This is Skull Island.
Boomstick: The island is like a time capsule, home to creatures that should have gone extinct a long time ago, such as dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and giant aquatic reptiles.
Wiz: It is also home to the native people, Skull Islanders, and their god, the giant ape known as King Kong. Standing at 50 feet tall, Kong is massive and super powerful.
Boomstick: Unfortunately, this made him a target for explorers looking to display him as a spectacle, especially after he kidnapped one of them.
Wiz: Of course, as one would expect, Kong escaped while on Broadway. He was chased up the Empire State Building where he was shot down by some airplanes.
Boomstick: Hey! Just because he was shot doesn't make him weak! He was capable of breaking through chains made of chrome-steel, which has a tensile strength of 325,000 PSI!
Wiz: He was also able to bust through a steel door, which would have required the strength of around 120 tons of TNT! He was also able to trade blows with large dinosaurs, and could casually kill creatures like Elasmosaurus.
Boomstick: Kong fought with a Tyrannosaurus rex, and was able to break its jaw with his hands alone, plus he could easily uproot large trees.
Wiz: Plus, he was a great grappler. He could wrestle dinosaurs to the ground easily, and even managed to body-slam a T.rex.
Boomstick: As far a durability goes, he wasn't weak in that area either. He was only merely annoyed by spears, and could tank through kicks and bites from T.rexes.
Boomstick: He reacted and moved at subsonic speeds, being able to catch airplanes. Airplanes of the time typically flew around 100 miles per hour. He could also cover hundreds of yards in seconds by running.
Wiz: With all that strength and speed come some weaknesses though. For one, he wasn't very smart compared to humans, and he was easily killed by bullets.
Boomstick: Even so, I think there's a reason Kong is called the Eighth Wonder of the World!
Gwangi[]
Wiz: In the heart of Mexico there lies a cursed valley lost to time. Home to all sorts of prehistoric animals such as dinosaurs and pterosaurs, the valley remained untouched for millions of years.
Boomstick: This was the Forbidden Valley, home to a giant purple dinosaur named Gwangi, who totally isn't related to Barney. Gwangi was an Allosaurus, the king of his ecosystem, the most powerful dinosaur in the valley.
Wiz: This unfortunately made him a target for some cowboys who sought to capture him for their rodeo. As expected, Gwangi broke free, rampaging through a town and killing several people.
Boomstick: In the end, he was trapped in a cathedral that burned to the ground with him inside of it. He died in the flames that day, but his legacy lives on as the terror of the Forbidden Valley.
Wiz: Gwangi was able to take on a Styracosaurus, and easily fought and killed a fully-grown elephant.
Boomstick: He had incredible durability, as he could shrug off bullets from rifles. He was also able to survive a landslide of boulders, although it did knock him out. Plus, when an elephant and Styracosaurus tried to stab him, it had no effect on him.
Wiz: His speed was superhuman, as he was able to outpace and catch Ornithomimuses and horses running at full speed.
Boomstick: He could push open the doors to a cathedral, even though it was being held closed by several people. Plus he has super high stamina, and didn't get tired after fighting a Styracosaurus and went on a rampage right after killing and elephant.
Wiz: Although he wasn't without fault. He was impaled by a makeshift spear made from a flagpole, and he was knocked out by a landslide. Plus, he was killed when enough burning rubble fell on top of him.
Boomstick: Not to mention, he isn't very smart. He has simple animalistic instincts and doesn't know how to strategize beyond simply attacking, and even allowed himself to get caught in the burning cathedral.
Wiz: Even with those flaws though, he's still incredibly powerful, and the most powerful beast in the Forbidden Valley.

Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities!
Boomstick: It's time for a Death Battle!
