Hey there! Just wanted to leave this message here, so I originally did this battle back in March of 2020. And honestly, it wasn't the best. The Research was poorly done, it was an overall confusing read. It was also my first case of "winner first, battle later" so I must apologize on that front. So I have gone back and remastered this battle to better fit my standards now. So with that said, enjoy!

King Ghidorah vs. Alpha Hydranoid is a "What If?" Episode of Death Battle. It stars King Ghidorah from Godzilla and Hydranoid from Bakugan: Battle Brawlers.

Interlude[]
Jolley: In the Greek mythologies of old lay stories of a great beast with multiple heads: The Hydra. A hideous dragon that terrified all who say it. Terrified by the horrendous venom it spewed from it's mouth
Random: And as the old saying goes, 3 heads are better than 1. And that's never been 3 times as truer for these 3 headed behemoths.
Jolley: Monster Zero, Aka: King Ghidorah. The one who is many.
Random: And Alpha Hydranoid, the most powerful Darkus Bakugan around. And former heir to Naga
Random: He's Jolley and I'm Random!
Jolley: And its our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills, to see who would win a Death Battle!
King Ghidorah[]
Jolley: Monster Zero, The Destroyer of worlds, The one who is Many. All these names accurately describe the space hydra from your nightmares... KING GHIDORAH This Kaiju first appeared in Ishirō Honda's 1964 film: "Ghidorah, the 3 headed monster" and has since then become the main antagonist to the king of the monsters himself: Godzilla Through their many incarnations. Ichi, Ni, & San (San was later nicknamed "Kevin") dominated the Kaiju scene. Only rivaled by the greatest of monsters in terms of sheer power. But first... A little background
Random: King Ghidorah's origins are mostly fuzzy, but it's confirmed that this is an ancient cosmic entity from the vast reaches of space, hell bent on destroying all life it came across. This eventually lead to his famous clashes with Godzilla, which have been raging on for millennia. So long in fact, the creature was the inspiration to the Greek mythological creature: The Hydra, a dragon will many heads that had the most dangerous bite of any animal.
Jolley: Not surprisingly, Ghidorah has tremendous strength, surprising agility, and the ability to fly across the cosmos. He can topple skyscrapers with virtually no effort, overpower multiple kaiju at once (including Godzilla, who's destructive capabilities are well documented), and just by his mere presence. Ghidorah can create category 5 hurricanes that ravages the environment around him. A very devilish monster indeed
Random: As stated earlier, Ghidorah can quite easily manhandle kaiju like the Fiery Rodan, the benevolent goddess Mothra, and once even picked up the 90 thousand metric ton Legendary Godzilla into the atmosphere and dropped him like a literal atomic BombHis mere steps shook the artic circle with their force, and is famously responsible for eradicating all life on the planet Venus which was once full of a human-like civilization... in a single day! Holy Crap!
Jolley: Here we can see Ghidorah bursting out of a mountain and restraining IDW Godzilla. An average mountain stands at around 500 or feet tall. Assuming Ghidorah was cramped in like a sardine. This would still take 100 megatons in conventual terms to accomplish. And It's very likely this was a casual feat
Random: Ghidorah's also one of the more speedy Kaiju's around, he's constantly shown to be Godzilla's superior in speed, As well as out speeding Mothra, Who flew from china to Isla de Mara, Mexico in a matter of around 5 minutes. Damn, wish my plane flights were that fast
Jolley: On top of this, Ghidorah was stated as being able to fly outside the solar system within just a few days.
Random: Now I know what you might say! "Statements aren't facts!" But. In just in a few hour time frame, Both Gigan & Ghidorah were already at Jupiter!
Not so farfetched now huh?
Jolley: This would take around 2 years for a human ship to reach, making Ghidorah A Relativistic Flyer, but not only that. Ghidorah also possesses Faster than Light reactions, how so? Well as stated earlier. Ghidorah should be at least comparable to Godzilla, who was able to dodge a light crystal based attack from Space Godzilla.
Random: As per usual with kaiju, Ghidorah has shown to be completely invulnerable to basically all human weaponry. Atomic bombs, barrages of missiles, even the Oxygen Destroyer bomb, which was specifically made to wipe out the atoms of whatever it hit. And it did nothing to King Ghidorah!
Jolley: Granted, this was due to Ghidorah's Alien origins and was therefore immune to the effects of the bomb.
Random: But Ghidorah isn't just resistant to human weaponry, he's shown just about every elemental resistance out there
Jolley: He resisted Rodan's fire which burnt an island to a crisp Was unaffected by Mothra's light based attacks Tanks Godzilla's Atomic breath, which easily tears through other kaiju on a daily basis Electricity attacks do nothing to Ghidorah. In fact, they power him even further as he charges himself with electric based attacks. Even as an infant, Ghidorah was dropped into an active Volcano which later exploded. This only powered the young kaiju. But this is where we get to Ghidorah's most notable Durability aspect, his regenerative capabilities.
Random: You see, the Greeks didn't base their Hydra off Ghidorah for no reason. They did it because they saw the beast's ability to regrow detached limbs. Including it's 3 iconic heads. This trait can also be shown with it's other limbs, including the twin club tails and legs. So as long as 1 of Ghidorah's heads are still alive, this false king will always return with a vengeance!
Jolley: But Monster 0 has more than just 1 way of killing you, in fact he has a lot of ways. There's his... Gravity Beams: Beams of concentrated electricity that Ghidorah can fire from any head at any time an Energy Discharge: A city wide burst of electricity that fries almost anything it's path And finally a Concentrated Beam, where All 3 heads target one target at the same time. Tripling the damage caused.
Random: But, Not even the King isn't invulnerable.
Jolley: Indeed. First off, His wings are the most fragile of Ghidorah's body, as they are essential to his flight, and if damaged they can leave him grounded and at a disadvantage. His healing factor can also be overtaxed with disintegrating attacks like Burning Godzilla's red spiral ray. And if one were to destroy all three heads before they could regenerate. This would leave Ghidorah in a vegetative state, which in this instance would count as a win.
Random: But good luck doing that! The king is ready to rule some ass!

Alpha Hydranoid[]
(Cue: Bakugan Battle Brawlers Theme)
Jolley: Vestroia. An alternate dimension completely different from our own, controlled by the 6 elements Pyrus, the element of fire Aquos, the element of water Subterra, the element of Earth Ventus, the element of wind Haos, the element of Light And finally... Darkus, the element of darkness Every creature in this dimension is assigned one of these elements, all except a being by the name of "Naga" who was a colorless dragon who wandered between the 6 elemental worlds
Random: Naga never had a true place to call home, so he did what anyone else would do and decided to take the power of what balanced their universe: The silent & infinity cores. Wait what?
Jolley: But due to his evil intentions, Naga was only consumed by the silent core. And was thus trapped inside it. This caused a tear in the dimension to open.
Random: Leading the world of Vestroia into our own world. The creatures known as Bakugan were unable to keep their form in the human world. Only in the act of battle could their true form be revealed.
Jolley: So Naga, spoke to a scientist named Michael Gehabich who had been researching this tear in dimensions. He twisted and infected Michael into becoming the villain known only as "Hal-G" and was sent out to find a suitable host bakugan to help bring Naga out of the Silent core.
Random: Naturally Hal-G corrupted his OWN GRANDDAUGHTER Alice and brainwashed her into becoming the Villainous spy only known by "his" codename: Masquerade. Priorities man.
Jolley: Masquerade was tasked with creating the most powerful Bakugan on the planet. And destroying all who came into their way They did this with the help of the also brainwashed Darkus Dragon: Hydranoid Hydranoid dominated the Bakugan scene, so much so it began to rapidly evolve into multiple stages. Ending up with the 3 headed Tyrant known as Alpha Hydranoid.
Random: Alpha was even once considered the top Bakugan in the entire world, Above the likes of the Gigantic Gorem, The Seductive Sirenoid, and even the Former #1 Bakugan: Skyress.
Jolley: Starting off with strength,As a mere byproduct of Hydranoid's fight with the Protagonist Bakugan: Drago, they shook an entire stadium and the surrounding blocks. This stadium rather closely resembles the International Stadium in Yokohama in size. This stadium can hold around 75,000 people and easily spreads city blocks in terms of sheer size And this was only caused by the 2 giants attacking each other!
Random: Hydranoid can easily level multiple skyscrapers with just a swing of it's tail, manhandle other Bakugan like Tentaclear & Harpus in just his base form, and even was able to overpower Centorrior, who was one of those hand chosen by Naga to destroy earth for his return.
Jolley: Speed wise, Hydranoid has the power of Flight gained by his massive wings, giving him a huge aerial advantage compared to other Bakugan. But there is one constant feat that most top tier Bakugan have. As stated earlier, there is the attribute known as Haos, which is the element of light. So this means that even the lowest of the lowly Haos Bakugan can utilize light as a weapon. And having fought countless Haos Bakugan in the past like Tigrerra, Tentaclear, and Centorrior who was able to react and block light based attacks. So Hydranoid is quite simply: FTL at the upmost least. His flight speed should also be considerably similar. As he fought Centorrior & Some Haos Bakugan, while in the air.
Random: Hydranoid has tanked hits soom some of the heaviest hitters in the game, Like the time he stalemated Ultimate Dragonoid, who was powerful enough to eventually absorb the infinity core. He has also taken hits from the aforementioned hades, who could damage Neo Dragonoid an even more powerful version than ultimate!
Jolley: While most of these feats are just taking hits from insanely powerful Bakugan, there is one that sticks out That is fighting the Darkus Legendary Solider Exedra. In only his second form: Dual Hydranoid. For Reference, Exedra is stated to be the most powerful Darkus Bakugan, and the most powerful member of the legendary Soldiers. A group that also included Apollonir who was capable of Defeating a corrupted Drago after being sent to the doom dimension (more on that later)
Random: And not only did Hydranoid survive hits from Exedra, He defeated him. And this was before Alpha Hydranoid was even around! Coupled with this, Hydranoid has been seen to regrow any of his 3 heads after being blow away. It's also been shown that Hydranoid possesses Highly evolved Cells that can quickly regenerate more than just a head.
Wiz: In the Bakugan-verse, people can use these things called "Ability Cards" to boost their Bakugan's stats and give them extra abilities. Hydranoid's Ability Cards include:
Final Demoliton: This gives Hydranoid a power boost and negates any current attacks
Indigo Nightmare: An attack that not only Boosts Hydranoid's Power, but also fires 3 beams from his mouth
Destroy Vanish: Tendrils extend from Hydranoid and trap their opponent and bring them close as Hydranoid's Mid-section turns into a Buzzsaw
Death Trident: A barrage of energy balls fly at the opponent, this can obliterate low tier bakugan like Serpenoid
Oblivion Triad: A large Beam that is concentrated from all 3 heads, This attack is Hydranoid's signature move and spans a whole mountain rage.
Doom Card: This card opens a portal to the Doom Dimension, which is where all Bakugan go to die and besides a few exceptions from truly powerful bakugan is completely inescapable. This card is most effective against an opponent that has been weakened
Random: And finally. I want to Talk about Hydranoid's "Trainer" Masquerade eventually found out that they were being brainwashed, and was able to break their Mind control. This resulted in Alice becoming Hydranoid's Caretaker. They became a great team with Alice the one directing traffic, and while she doesn't battle often. She has studied and become one of the best analytical Bakugan Players in the world. This allows hydranoid to pull of complex strategies with their co-dependent relationship being a large factor in Hydranoid's Success.
Jolley: There are some... Downsides to Hydranoid however Ability Cards are only a one time use, and If mistimed they can leave to an opening for attack. Hydranoid is also very Co-dependent on Alice for guidance, without her it's not likely Hydranoid can pull off great feats of strategy Even Alice herself lacks Confidence in her abilities as she is constantly holding back in fear that Masquerade still lurks in her mind.
Random: But make no mistake. All of hell and hades himself is about to break loose in the battle of the Alpha Hydra and the False King. Stay Tuned

Jolley: We've run through the data and calculated all the possiblites, and we've come to our conclusion
Random: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTTLLLLLE!!!.
Death Battle[]
Pre-Fight[]
Our scene opens up in Tokyo Japan, the sun has begun to set on the brisk day with a cool autumn breeze filling the local park, one where the Bakugan Battle Brawlers happened to be having a picnic at. Everyone was enjoying themselves, even Mr. Hotshot himself Shun found himself enjoying and complimenting the meal.
“Thanks for coming out here guys! I thought it would be good to do something nice for once now that we’re not worried about the world ending.”
Said Alice, the one who had orchestrated the whole event for them to relax and to take their mind off their departed Bakugan (who had returned to Vestroia after Naga had been defeated). But something caught the Young Girl’s eye… while everyone was chatting about their day, a small purple glow fell from the heavens and caught Alice’s eye. It had landed by her house at the east end of town. Alice had a feeling deep down in her gut that something was wrong.
Without warning, Alice vanished in the wind as she rode her bicycle towards her house to see what caused the disturbance. Her flowing apricot hair flew as the winds started to pick up, faster and faster. She hastily entered her house, went up the stairs and into her bedroom. Only to find what had caused the Dark Purple glow. Sitting on the bed sheets lay the balled up form of her old companion: Alpha Hydranoid. Her face was flushed in a mix of shock & joy to see Hydranoid again, but her brain also began to turn. Why was he here?
“Hydranoid?? Is that you?? I thought you had gone back to Vestroia!” She cradled the Bakugan in her hand, Oblivious to the winds that began to rage outside.
“We’re sorry Alice.” They said “But we are not here for a reunion, there is something coming. And you were the only one who we could come to for help.”
“Something coming? What do you mea-”
Alice was cut off by the booming sounds of approaching lightning. A large storm was coming this way with a very vague shape in the middle of it all. All the television channels were going haywire at the sudden weather change, so Alice and her companion raced out for the outskirts of town to see what was coming. After a few minutes the weather became too strong to go any further. They watched in horror as a Devil like cry came from the center of it.
“N-Naga?? But I thought we destroyed him!”
“No Alice, It’s not Naga, It’s something worse…”
Hydranoid said with solemnity.
The golden dragon's wings flapped 3 times before it’s enormous body landed on the ground, the shaking of the ground threw Alice off balance. With only a fiery hate, disdain, and fury in its eyes, the mighty King Ghidorah roared with a spine chilling screech
“Wh-What is that?!”
“It’s what will end our world if we do not stop it, and Alice… We believe you can do it.”
Each of Hydranoid’s heads took turns filling out the sentence, almost like they were 1 consciousness
“Guys… I don’t know if I can handle THAT!”
Alice was shaking in fear at the sight of the monstrous Ghidorah’s red gaze.
“You don’t have to know, because WE do. We will follow you every step of the way, we won’t leave you again.”
…
Alice’s thought about the stakes at risk, and how not only her friends. But her entire livelihood was in danger if she didn’t stop this monster here and now. So Alice nodded her head with a steely look of determination, stepping up to the plate. Her gauntlet beamed a bright color as time around the battlefield begins to slow to a crawl… Leaving only the 2 of them in a battlefield against this Destroyer of worlds
“Go get ‘em Hydranoid.”
“Will do Alice.”
Alice took a hesitant step back as Ghidorah became confused about this new environment it was in. But all it saw was this little human girl standing in its way. The Dragon’s eyes dilated and became set on Alice as a target.
“BAKUGAN… BRAWL!!”
Alice threw the ball with all her might onto the battlefield and shouted the command:
“Bakugan… STAND!”
The flimsy marble form exploded into the 300 foot tall Hydranoid, staring opposite the larger opponent known as King Ghidorah. The extraterrestrial was caught off guard from this beast before it, but Ghidorah was never one to back down. It raised it’s gigantic wings in a show of dominance. The battle between the Alpha and the King has begun
FIGHT![]
Ghidorah made the first move, using it’s longer reach to snap at Hyranoid’s neck
In which the faster foe was able to avoid with little difficulty and counter with a swipe to one of the 3 faces.
Both beasts clashed with great intensity as Alice ran for a safe place to direct traffic from.
And after a few moments of thrashing around the field Ghidorah started to overpower Hydranoid, throwing them to the ground with a strong tail strike and following up with throwing the smaller opponent to the side. Ghidorah turned Its attention to Alice and prepared a gravity beam to end the young girl.
“H-HYDRANOID!”
“AWAY FROM HER!”
Hydranoid roared in anger at Ghidorah’s attempts, grabbing the King by the back of the left-furthest neck and ripping it clean off which made Ghidorah stagger ever so slightly. But this was merely a temporary victory as only seconds later the head of Ghidorah grew back and retaliated by blasting the Alpha with a Gravity Beam to the chest.
“We’re in trouble.”
Alice managed to eek out after seeing the beast regrow a head before her very eyes.
Meanwhile Ghidorah maneuvered around a blast from Hyranoid’s mouth with a serpentine motion, and bit the creature's neck with extreme force. Pinning it to the ground without hope of escape. Right?
Alice shook away the fear and realized that Hydranoid needed help, so with a flick of the wrist she entered a card into her gauntlet
“ABILITY CARD ACTIVATE: DESTROY VANISH!”
Suddenly with a boost of strength, mechanical like tendrils extended from Hydranoid, wrapping around Ghidorah’s Necks and Legs with a vice-like grip and slowly dragging the frantic beast into the Buzzsaw center.
“Yes! You got him now!”
Ghidorah began to screech in pain as the buzzsaw drew blood on the creature.
But the King wasn’t out yet, they fired a point blank gravity beam up close
BOOM!
Both dragons were fired backwards in the ensuing explosion. Ghidorah’s wound began to rapidly heal as they both stood up in an attempt to continue the fight. Ghidorah began surging with electricity while Hydranoid’s dark aura seemed to become stronger. Both beasts fired beams from their mouths and became locked in a BEAM BATTLE. Vying for who could control the fight going forward they pushed their energy to the limit with Ghidorah’s gravity beams slowly starting to overtake Hydranoid’s inch by inch.
“ABILITY CARD ACTIVATE: DEATH TRIDENT”
With the mere shout of Alice’s command, Hydranoid’s power tripled and instantly overpowered Ghidorah which made the beam literally blow up in his face. This blast sent Ghidorah Back even further, far enough for Hydranoid to fly forward in a burst of speed so powerful it took the larger Ghidorah off his feet and into the ground
“You may be many, but WE are ONE!”
Hydranoid prepared the finishing blow as the dark aura began to surge. But Ghidorah has 1 more trick up its sleeve…
Before Alpha could end the fight then and there a HUGE discharge of energy burst from Ghidorah. This burst was so powerful, the battlefield began to collapse in on itself.
CRACK
The battlefield shattered due to the electricity as all 3 of them were returned to the human world. And even there the electricity was still felt as it cut power to the entire COUNTRY of Japan. This discharge brought Hydranoid to his knees and at the mercy of the one TRUE King.
“HYDRANOID!”
Ghidorah wrapped it’s large tails around it’s smaller opponent and began lifting Hydranoid into the air
Higher and Higher went Hydranoid’s lifeless body as Ghidorah prepared the ultimate sacrifice of the Alpha. Lightning filled the sky as the setting sun became covered in a dark cloud filled with nothing but destruction.
“ABILITY CARD ACTIVATE: FINAL DEMOLITION!”
Alice’s voice echoed from hundreds of feet below, finally this dark aura was ready to burst! Hydranoid sprung to life with a burst of power, Firing a beam into the shocked Ghidorah. This beam shot right Through Ghidorah’s right wing and caused his grip to falter. With no other place to go, the both fell in a free fall.
“STEADY YOURSELF HYDRANOID, YOU GOT THIS!”
Hydranoid attempted to adjust himself in such a way to take flight, but was met by a clubbing tail slap by Ghidorah that sent the Alpha off course and sent careening farther into the outskirts. Both landed with a tremendous shake in the earth
“HYDRANOID!”
Alice ran as fast as she could to help her companion, who was barely hanging onto his bakugan form and laid desperately in a large crater opposite Ghidorah. She stood outside the crater and begged Hydranoid to get up, not worried about the fight anymore. But just worried about the safety of her friend.
“D-Did we win…?” Hydranoid asked weakly
“Yes.. Yes I think we did!” Alice was doing her utmost best to keep a tear from falling…
But an ominous shadow loomed as the sound of thunder and lightning grew louder and louder.
Alice turned to see Ghidorah, still somehow standing with a hurt wing and everything.
“N-NO!! HOW?!”
Ghidorah stared down the puny human before him, preparing to end her with a single gravity beam. Knowing there was nowhere to run a shooken Alice prepared to meet her demise.
The lightning shot forth from the Devil’s mouth
“NO!”
Hydranoid acted in pure defiance of this creature, he pulled his wing in front of the beam to protect Alice. But the blast was so great it sent Alice flying backwards dozens of feet. Her body fell limp as soon as she hit the ground, with a card imprinted with a skull of a beast with horns falling besides her… Only to vanish into the ground.
Hydranoid began to act out of pure animalistic anger and hatred towards this beast that had dared lay even a finger on Alice. Hydranoid fired a barrage of blasts at Ghidorah that was able to slow the beast down.
Until…
A dark vortex opened behind Ghidorah, the force began to pull the beast off the ground and into the air. The King struggled to stay airborne as it drew closer, and closer into the Final Destination of the Bakugan World: The Doom Dimension
Hydranoid gazed at Alice’s lifeless body, and prepared it’s ultimate attack
OBLIVION TRIAD
A tremendous force of cataclysmic proportions blew from all 3 of Hydranoid’s mouths, engulfing Ghidorah in a blinding light and pushing him into the great beyond that almost no man or beast could survive. All that was left?
The Head of Ichi, laid motionless as the portal to the doom dimension closed leaving no way for that demon to return.
Exhausted: Hydranoid Returned to his marble like form, and lay next to Alice’s prone body.
“A-Alice? Wake up.. Please, We need you!”
After a few moments of silence, Alice coughed and used what was left of her strength to turn her smiling face up
“Did.. We win this time?” She chuckled.
“Yes, yes we did Alice.” They both laid there and waited, knowing that at least for today. The world was safe
K.O!
Or was it? King Ghidorah’s head twitched with some semblance of life within the Doom Dimension
This is not over yet.
Results[]
Random: The electricity bill on this battle is gonna be insane!
Wiz: Starting off stat by stat. In terms of sheer power and Attack Potency, Ghidorah took this over Hydranoid's destructive capabilities. Bursting mountains and Wiping out entire civilizations is more impressive than overpowering a Bakugan that had the power to destroy life on a small country at best and bursting stadiums.
Random: But on the speed department, we see the opposite. Ghidorah had Relativistic speeds through a mostly unclear time lapse and FTL reactions through scaling. While Hydranoid has constant and concrete solid proof of both FTL Movement, Flight, & Reactions speeds. So Hydranoid took the Speed department over Ghidorah.
Jolley: Durability was... Iffy to decide. Both could take an absolute beating, and their regenetive powers were basically dead even in what they could heal from. But it really comes down to how powerful we can assume Exedra is. And honestly It's still unclear. Exedra is said to be the most powerful of the legendary soldiers, but Apollonir (the Pyrus Soldier) was able to defeat a corrupted Drago who in considered Hydranoid's equal. So it really depends on how the scaling works in the end
Random: In sheer Abilities. Hydranoid took this, with some room to spare. The amount of ability cards and with the help from Alice, this made counteracting Hydranoid extremely difficult for Ghidorah. But in the end, this battle was too close to decide in pure stats. So we had to look at the very nature of both of what these Dragons could do.
Jolley: And the answer lied within the Doom Card
Random: So if Ghidorah was that fast what was keeping him from escaping the pull of the doom dimension?
Wiz: You see, this may sound strange. But the Doom Dimension portal itself is actually comparable to that of a black hole. How is that possible? Well as we know, not even light can escape a Black Hole and plenty of Haos Bakugan couldn't resist the force of the Doom Dimension portal. Even King Ghidorah himself has shown he cannot escape a black hole.
Jolley: So while Ghidorah was an incredible opponent for Hydranoid. By the sheer versatility of Hydranoid's powers, speed, and A Little Help from his Friend
Random: Looks like the Alpha will be ruling Hydr-Above, everyone else.
Jolley: The winner is Alpha Hydranoid.
