Death Battle Katsuki Bakugo vs Paul

Description[]

They are both rivals to the main hero of their anime franchise (Ash and Deku), they both are cold hearted and hot tempered individuals, they show little to no respect or sympathy to their opponents/classmates, they long to be the strongest and greatest people of their kind, they have both fought and lost against their desired opponents (Brandon and All Might) and have reluctantly teamed up with their rivals in the past. This is the sixth episode of the second season of Dandyclaw's Death Battle.

Interlude[]

· Boomstick: Let’s be honest here, where there is some goody-too-shoes anime hero striving to be the very best, there's always someone who is standing in their way.

· Wiz: A hero and adventurer in training would be nothing without their respected rivals getting in their way and pushing them to be stronger and better people in their own right

· Boomstick: And these two hotheaded and cold-hearted individuals are the prime examples of the perfect childhood rival. You can’t help but love and hate them at the same time.

Katsuki Bakugo analysis

· Wiz: Katsuki Bakugou, the angry explosion hero of UA High.

Paul analysis

· Boomstick: And Paul, Ash Ketchum's Sinnoh Region rival. He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick.

· Wiz: And it’s our jobs to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win… a DEATH BATTLE.

Katsuki Bakugo

o  Wiz: In the world of My Hero Academia, Class 1A of UA High is filled with educated students loaded with potential when it comes to heroics. Some students desire to become heroes so they can protect others and bring hope to the fallen.

o   Boomstick: While other want to be heroes so they can kick the crap out of villains and proof to everyone that they are best and strongest heroes around. And no student in the entire Class 1A of UA High fits this bill better than Katsuki Bakugou.

Bakugou&Izuku Children

Young Midoriya and Bakugo

o  Wiz: While his childhood friend Izuku Midoriya had a very hard life from the start, having no Quirk of his own, Bakugo's childhood was fairly easy since he was born with a pretty awesome Quirk.

o   Boomstick: When you can start explosions with your hands, you know for a fact you’re a badass. This Quirk earned him many compliments from not only his classmates but even his teachers. This constant praise gave him the belief that he was better than everyone in the world, and with his fiery personality that he most likely inherited from his hot-headed mom...well it didn't mix well.

o  Wiz: You can say that again.

o   Boomstick: Well, it didn't…

o  Wiz: Not literally. Anyway, Bakugo began to bully poor Izuku Midoriya because despite not having a Quirk, he still wanted to be a hero like the legendary hero All Might.

Bakugou is a jerk2

Bakugo bullying Deku

o   Boomstick: He even was the one who gave him his nickname which Izuku eventually decided to use as his own Hero name, Deku, which originally meant “good or nothing”.

o  Wiz: But once Deku inherited All Mights quirk and got accepted into UA High, he turned that around to be pronounce as "Dekiru", meaning someone who can do anything.

o   Boomstick: Talk about ironic, much to Bakugo’s annoyance. Well anyway, despite this Bakugo and Izuku had one thing in common: They both idolized All Might and wanted to become the world's greatest number one Hero just like him.

o  Wiz: But despite Bakugo’s constant bullying, Deku still believed that they were friends, even calling him by his childhood nickname, "Kaachan" and was offer him a hand whether he needed it or not.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=42oqKptXnh4&si=-DHUsjP00lw5ZqUX

o   Boomstick: This only pissed him off and pick on him even more, so since it made Bakugo believe that Midoriya was looking down on him. But Karma got its revenge when he was attacked by a Sludge Monster.

o  Wiz: Well anyway, Bakugo got into the prestigious UA High along with Midoriya, who mysteriously gained a new and powerful Quirk of his own. Not only did he manage to attract the attention of the public for his...intimidating personality but he also matured quite a bit trying to make up for bullying Midoriya by becoming his rival.

o   Boomstick: Ah, that's actually kind of beautiful.

Bakugo and Deku crossing paths

Best of rivals

o  Wiz: Yeah, I’m not sure beautiful is a word I would use to describe their relationship. Fixed yes, beautiful no.

o   Boomstick: That’s your opinion Wiz. But I wouldn’t lie, the guy really should have chosen a better superhero name than “Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight”. Not only does it take too long to say, it doesn’t always give him the heroic vibes he’s looking for.

https://youtu.be/ZpK7Su5TXAI

o  Wiz: Your not wrong about that one.

o   Boomstick: But you know what is beautiful? The explosions this guy can make!

o  Wiz: Bakugou's quirk is known as explosive, allowing him to sweat a nitroglycerin like substance, allowing him to create powerful explosions. This is also aided by his impressive intellect, fit spiritual stature, and much much more. Despite the simplicity of his quirk, it also offers multiple uses, allowing him to up his speed, create what is essentially a flashbang, and cover himself in explosions.

https://youtu.be/So_mJyOZyxw

o   Boomstick: Bakugo can basically do whatever he wants during a fight. From flying around the place to basically using them to amplify his punches much like boxing gloves. Heck even his costume helps him out in his fight, with its heavy clothing making him sweat more often and give him more fire power as a result.

Bakugo using his powers

Flying through the air

o  Wiz: Well anyway, as you could expect the more sweat that comes from Bakugo's hands the more powerful his explosions and thanks to his Gauntlets, he can store a lot more sweat ergo create more powerful explosions. These can range from tiny little baby explosions to big that they can be compared to buildings in size.

o   Boomstick: Holy shit talk about bringing the house down. Literally, this kid has enough fire power to reduce a small building to nothing but rubble. Bakugo also carries around small grenades that he fills with his explosive sweat, which he can detonate when unleashed.

https://youtu.be/Z54aET9aG7c

o  Wiz: He also has Knee Pads also packing explosive liquid on his super suit so that he can and I quote "kill with his knees".

o   Boomstick: Sure, if he does it enough, it might hurt his arms a bit from all those explosions, but it definitely won't hurt as much as his opponents will hurt after he hits them repeatedly. Now let’s discuss his long list of attacks that have given his classmates and teachers a run for their money.

BakugouExplosion

Aim and Fire

o  Wiz: Bakugo is also quick strong and flexible, able out outmaneuver various projectile and tank blows from Nomu monsters, not to mention that he very versatile use of his Quirk. For instance, with Blast Rush Turbo, he can fly around the place in a manner similar to the Iron Man armors. And in the Video Games, it's shown that he can use this technique to increase his running speed.

https://youtu.be/Wh1_nlLpNSM

o   Boomstick: He can blind his foes with the Stun Grenade, but if he wants to get up close and personal, he’ll blast your eyes open with the Zero Distance Stun Grenade.

o  Wiz: But Bakugo's strongest technique is by far his Howitzer Impact. By spinning through the air, he collects enough oxygen and momentum to fuel an explosion that would make the Hiroshima bomb look like a firecracker.

https://youtu.be/qytlZKRbqI4

o   Boomstick: And don't think you can out run this move, because you will still be toast since one of these Impacts was able to destroy most of the Arena used in the UA Sports Festival.

Bakugo

Blast and Die

o  Wiz: On the other hand, if Bakugo wants to keep his distance and focus on long range attacks, he can use the AP Shot which basically allows him to shoot a concentrated blast which can go straight through solid rock like it's nothing.

o   Boomstick: Now imagine going up against hundreds of these rock-busting blasts all at once...well don't because Bakugo can already do that, basically making him a human-machine gun! He Wiz, don’t be mad, but I kinda upgraded my shotgun leg using some Spare parts in your workshop.

o Wiz: I’m sorry. You went into my workshop, without asking first?

o Boomstick: Yeah. And I…sort of…kinda had a bit of an accident while I was in there.

o  Wiz: Ooh we gonna have a long talk after this. Anyway, Bakugo can use his mobility quite well with his Ex-Catapult or Explode-A-Pult which basically allows him to fling his opponents and even his friends (depending on how he's feeling will determine that) with enough force that it causes an explosion.

o  Boomstick: Explode-A-Pult...what kind of lam name is that? I’d give that name a 2 out of ten, three at best.

https://youtu.be/J3nj3M2qqtE

o   Wiz: Just don’t ever say that to his face. If there is one thing Bakugo hates the most, other than losing, its negative feedback.

o  Boomstick: True That. But despite his emotional outburts and his age, Bakugo is not somebody to be underestimated. While most of the time he only uses his explosion to beat the snot out of someone, but if he really wanted to get deadly, he can make some cataclysmic blasts!

Bakugo-katsuki-ap-shot

Power of Explosion

o   Wiz: And these blasts can get pretty strong, even against his equally powerful classmate Shoto Todoroki. When they fought during UA Sports Festival, and when Bakugo shattered Todoroki’s Ice that covered most of the stadium which we know is surrounded by a 4 Kilometer track, we can deduce this would take over 3 Tons of TNT to pull off!

https://youtu.be/DzHVPFCIb3g

o  Boomstick: Which is strong enough to take out a freaking skyscraper! And considering that Bakugo did this during the start of the series, It's very likely that he can do quite a lot more than that now.

o   Wiz: Especially since he's way stronger than a villain who could slice a cruise ship in half and the fact that he can keep up with Deku when he was only using 5% of his Quirk, and even land some hits on him.

o  Boomstick: During his fight with Ochaco Ururaka he was strong enough to completely incinerate a volley of rocks that were raining down on top of him. The resulting explosion was big enough visible from many feet in the air. Heck, during the beginning of their fight, he hit her with blasts strong enough to break the floor. Guess we know Bakugo is anything but a gentleman or a fair fighter, no wonder he’s still single.

https://youtu.be/xgOFMvpSlE4

o   Wiz: In his second battle with Deku, he defeated him with this blast attack, which apparently requires about 2 tons of TNT, enough to smash a small building. But Bakugo's greatest feat was when he blasted Nine's shield with this explosion!

o  Boomstick: Seems pretty standard right? Wrong!!! Judging from the size of the explosion, we conclude that this explosion was equivalent to that of 8 Tons of TNT! Oh shit! We definitely weren’t kidding when we said that he got stronger.

Mha-bakugo

Driving on the scene

o   Wiz: But Bakugo isn't all muscle, as he is pretty swift. While some of his feats include him running 50 metres in less than 6 seconds which is great and all, but it's nothing against his better feats like how he can keep up with Deku who without the full power of his Quirk could move close to the speed of sound.

o  Boomstick: Bakugo can do that anyway since he kept up with Endeavor who was able to move before a sound attack could reach him and his colleagues. Sure those two might no have gotten along well at first, but Bakugo soon began to appreciate Endeavor's teaching and he helped him utilize

his Quirk He can also avoid invisible attacks when he gets hit from behind.

https://youtu.be/H90o5Fgp-OY

o   Wiz: Well Bakugo's greatest speed feat was when he battled against Tokoyami. The same black bird kid who was able to block Kaminari's electricity which we figured out would move at speeds of over Mach 1!

My-hero-academia-ones-justice

Deku vs Dynamite

o  Boomstick: Bakugo's really tough too. Not only can he shrug off the explosion of a mine, but he also tanked being shocked by Kaminari's 1 Million Volt Attack. Heck he can even survive hits from a weakened All Might with such force that it made him vomit. Which is pretty impressive since the famed and legendary hero was only partially holding back on him.

https://youtu.be/gqMjYUUW5nw

o   Wiz: Also remember that final attack he did against Deku? Well...Bakugo was literally in the middle of that 2 tons of TNT explosion and took it to the face!

o  Boomstick: If wasn’t for Recovery Girl’s smoothing kisses, Bakugo would have been a dead kid walking.

o   Wiz: During his years training at UA High, Bakugo has improved dramatically with the use of his Quirk and has survived countless villain attacks and abductions as well.

o  Boomstick: Yeah, there was the time he got captured by the League of Villains, who offered him a chance to joined their ranks due to his hot temper and fury. Not going to lie, there was a moment where I thought he might have taken them on their offer.

o   Wiz: Luckily, Bakugo’s desire to be the greatest hero ever and defeat every villain he faced helped him stay on the right path before he was rescue by Deku and his friends. It's that same level of determination that helped Bakugo lead his teammates to victory against Class 1-B during the Joint Training Battle. Sure he couldn't remeber their names to save his life, but his Keen Intellect and Leadership skills allowed his team to pull of a win.

o  Boomstick: And let’s not forget that during one his greatest life-or-death battles ever, he briefly inherited the One for All Quirk from Deku to combine with his own power to deliver the final blow. . Damn! Who cares if Bakugo a pain in the ass when he can fight with powers like that?

My-hero-academia-bakugo-1269338

Blown away

o  Wiz: Well, he wouldn't be a pain forever. After Deku left UA High to protect his friends and realizing the error of his ways, Bakugo finally apologized to Deku for all the pain he had caused him, and finally called him by his full name. During the battle with Tomura Shigaraki, Bakugo willing pushed Deku out the way to protect him from an incoming attack.

o Boomstick: Better late than never. But don't worry, he was right back being the selfish dick he is in less than a day. He even finally shortened his hero name down to just “Dynamite”

o Wiz: But Bakugo does have his flaws, even he’ll constantly deny them no matter what. For one, while his explosions are his greatest asset...there is still a limit to how much he can create, otherwise it would cause his muscle fibers to tare. And since his powers are based off his sweat, he needs to keep warm. So cold weather is a is a huge problem.

https://youtu.be/7dZG8IYIvjY

o   Boomstick: Not mention his extremely short temper, even the slightest comment will piss this guy off, causing him to lash out in fits of rage.

Bakugou-katsuki-bakugou

Look of a “Hero”?

o  Wiz: Trust me, not amount of Anger Management therapy will extinguish the raging fire in Bakugo’s belly. But during his training to receive his Hero Licenses, he did encourage a trouble child to stop looking down on people and see the weakness he needed to overcome.

https://youtu.be/8gatsN13xGY

o   Boomstick: But despite all this Bakugo has changed quite a bit during his time in UA High. He started off as a bully and jerk, but over time he began to feel guiltier for his actions, even becoming Deku's competitive rival to make up for the bullying.

o  Wiz: And although he still has a long road ahead of him, he eventually he became the one thing he wanted to be more than anything...a Hero...with an extremely short temper

o   Bakugo: You and I are settling this. Right here...Right Now.

Paul Stands By for Death Battle[]

Bd33b84db8f3a29798d6895bbdde3a9a

Paul

o  Wiz: Throughout his tine traveling the Pokemon world to be the very best, Ash Ketchum has made a lot of close friends and plenty of competitive rivals.

o   Boomstick: From his childhood nemesis Gary Oak to his Kalos counterpart Alain, even some random trainers that only appeared in one episode, Ash has battle countless trainers that have helped him grow from a tiny shrub to the ever-growing beanstalk of a Pokémon trainer he was always meant to be

o  Wiz: But perhaps the rival that has constantly gotten under his skin and who some fans (such as myself) deem him to be Ash’s perfect rival his Sinnoh Region Rival, Paul.

Pokemon Paul gif

Paul

https://youtu.be/_RrM--d5ALk

o   Boomstick: You can say that again. Born somewhere in Veilstone City, Paul is a total, for a lack of a better term, a Stubborn Son Of a Bitch! After witnessing his older brother Reggie lose to the Pyramid King Brandon and eventually retire to become a Pokemon Breeder, Paul set out on a journey to become stronger than any trainer he encountered.

o  Wiz: This desire to be the strongest trainer in the world made Paul become relentless and cold-hearted, especially for a 10-year-old. He's shown time and time again that he only cares about the strength of his Pokémon and nothing else. As such, Paul can be very cruel towards his Pokémon, especially when they lose.

o   Boomstick: Even when he catches a new Pokemon or if his current ones lose too many battles, he so much as smells even the slightest hint of weakness in them, he’ll kick off his team and never look back on them. What a dickhead, talk about animal cruelty!

o Wiz: Paul is Ash’s opposite in every way. While Ash is a respectful and heroic trainer, who cares deeply for his Pokémon, Paul is a selfish and hardcore trainer, who only care about one this: Winning.

o Boomstick: And every time they met, he always gave Ash the cold shoulder and pretended they didn’t know each other. It’s no wonder the fans considered him Ash’s best or perfect rival, especially after the whole Chimcar incident.

https://youtu.be/OW2A6JgvQu0

Ash-vs

Ash Vs Paul

o  Wiz: But when he does encounter a Pokémon that can be useful to him, he makes sure that they are at their prime by pushing them to their very limits and beyond through rigorous amounts of training.

https://youtu.be/PfVobPrDJgs

o   Boomstick: While Paul may be a harsh trainer, he has shown to be a cunning strategist, thinking ahead through observations and anticipating his opponent's next move, like what Pokémon they might bring into battle and how to counter said Pokemon.

o  Wiz: This has proven to be useful during his travels. While he may be a jerk, he does show some form of kindness and respect to certain individuals, like everyone’s favorite Poke-doctor, Nurse Joy.

o   Boomstick: But enough about Paul, let’s talk about his Pokemon.

o  Wiz: Paul has a large variety powerful Pokemon, but today we will be focusing on the six Pokemon he mainly uses in battle and have been deemed some of his strongest Pokemon in his collection: Electvire, Torterra, Ursaring, Magmortar, Honchkrow, and Aggron.

https://youtu.be/Lxg5iHnMIdc

1200px-Paul Aggron

Aggron

o   Boomstick: His first Pokémon standing by for battle is steel toe Aggron, a Rock/Steel Type. Aggron can boost his defense with Iron Defense, raise his attack with Metal Claw, lower the opponent's special defense with Metal Sound and Flash Cannon, and unleash Double-Edge, a move so powerful that it deals damage to the user. He’s like metallic version of a Rhino, or should I say “Rhydon”. Get it?!

https://youtu.be/2HDGvIO9dKE

o  Wiz: Sadly, yes. But not Paul's Aggron because it's ability is Rock Head, an ability that prevents a Pokémon from taking recoil damage. It’s powerful against Flying or Normal type Pokémon, but is totally at a disadvantage when it comes to Fire and Water type Pokémon.

Paul's Aggron vs Ash's Infernape

Double Edge vs Flare Blitz

https://youtu.be/nzuArodmEmg

o   Boomstick: Although it got taken down easily during Paul’s battle against Brandon’s Regice when it was just a Laron, it held its own against several of Ash’s Pokemon during the Sinnoh League before tapping out.

Paul's Torterra

Torterra

o  Wiz: Then there is Paul's Torterra a Grass and Ground type Pokémon, who was the very first Pokémon he acquired when he was starting his journey, and one his strongest and loyalist Pokémon. Originally a Turtwig, both Paul and Turtwig possess the same determined spirit to become the strongest after witnessing Reggie lose to Brandon. However, unlike Paul and his other Pokemon, Torterra shows respect towards its opponent, to the point where it helped Ash's Grotle improve it's fighting skills, teaching it to take attacks head on instead of dodging and waiting for the right moment to strike, after it evolved from a Turtwig.

o   Boomstick: And because Paul focuses primarily on a strength and brute force, and yet is coordinated in battle, Torterra naturally has several moves that fit Paul's battle style. These moves include Giga Drain, Frenzy Plant, Hyper Beam, Leaf Storm, Crunch, and Stone Edge. Giga Drain is a Grass Type move that inflicts damage to the opponent, and then the user's health is recovered by about 1/2 of damage taken by said target. While Crunch is a Dark-Type Move in which the user bites the opponent with razor sharp teeth. Plus, there's a slight chance of the opponent's defenses getting lowered. And Leaf Storm is another Grass move that unleashes a swarm of sharp leaves at its opponent, kind of like an upgraded version of Razor Leaf. Man, and I thought Venasaur was the greatest grass type there ever was.

o  Wiz: Stone Edge is a Rock-Type move that does a great deal of damage and has a high chance of critical hit. Hyper Beam is one strongest attack for any Pokemon that unleashes a powerful beam of energy at its opponent, with the cost of having to rest and recharge after every usage. Finally, Frenzy Plant is currently the strongest Grass Type move in history. It acts in a similar fashion towards Hyper Beam. In other words, Frenzy Plant does a lot of damage, but the user can't attack on the next turn.

https://youtu.be/R7e5uMqdFTU

Paul's Torterra vs Cynthia's Garchomp

Paul's Torterra vs Cynthia's Garchomp

https://youtu.be/U9V4ZxWEVLU

o   Boomstick: And while Torterra maybe a Paul's tank of a Pokemon, it's still weak against Fire, Flying, and Ice-Type Moves. Not to mention, despite Torterra being a part Ground Type, it, for some reason, doesn't know any Ground-Type Moves. But who needs a walking plant when you’ve got a walking tree.

1200px-Paul Ursaring

Ursaring

o  Wiz: Next is Paul’s Paul's Ursaring is a Normal-Type Pokémon. It's shown to be aggressive and hostile toward everyone it fights, especially when it first encounter Ash as a wild Pokemon. Making it a perfect match for Paul's hard core battle strategies.

https://youtu.be/v2qBxhX2Bhs

o   Boomstick: Which tends to happen a lot for Ash, no wonder he hasn’t caught an Ursaring yet. But much like Paul's Torterra, Ursaring has many powerful moves at his disposal that fits Paul's battling style. These moves include Hyper Beam, Focus Blast, Hammer Arm, Secret Power, Bulk Up, and finally Slash.

o  Wiz: Bulk Up is a move that increases the users Attack and Defense by one level, which makes Ursaring stronger than before. Secret Power is an attack that may have an additional effect depending on the user's environment

https://youtu.be/_VGOjBQxsCk

o   Boomstick: For example, it can cause the target to fall asleep if battling in tall grass or on a water puddle, it may cause the target to flinch if battling on craggy surfaces or in caves, or paralyze the target if battling in a building. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the Pokémon world is weird as Heck.

Pokemon Ursaring uses Hammer Arm

Ursaring uses Hammer Arm

o  Wiz: Focus Blast is yet another Fighting type move that releases a high-concentrating blast of energy that has a lot of power.... but at the cost of accuracy.

o   Boomstick: Kind if reminds me of Ken Master’s Hadouken. Hammer Arm is another Fighting-Type Move that does devastating amount of damage, with some accuracy issues. The downside is that the more it hits, lowers the users speed by one level. And lastly is Slash. Slash is a Normal type Move that does fairly decent amount of damage. However, it has a higher chance of performing a critical hit.

https://youtu.be/-7bK44zHkhE

Ursaring vs Hitmonlee

Paul's Ursaring vs Barry's Hitmonlee

o  Wiz: Paul's Ursaring is among one of his strongest Pokémon. Not only was it able to defeat half of Ash's Pokémon during their battle at Lake Acuity, but it's also tough enough to defeat Barry's Hitmonlee despite the type disadvantage.

o   Boomstick: Even for an ordinary Normal type Pokemon, Paul's Ursaring has no real weakness, outside of being weak against Fighting Type Moves. Though it was defeated a few times by Paul’s former Pokemon Chimcar, before Ash’s adopted it. This is Teddy Bear you definitely don’t want a hug from.

1200px-Paul Honchkrow

Honchkrow

o  Wiz: Of course, every good trainer knows you need at least one flyer on you team to help them travel from one place to another, and Paul is no exception. And his Pokémon of choice is a Honchkrow.

o   Boomstick: Paul's Honchkrow is a dual Dark and Flying Type Pokémon. Even as a pre-evolved Murkrow, Honchkrow was a flying, pecking powerhouse. I'm talking about knowing Sky Attack, one of the strongest Flying type moves before it even evolved. Sometime after defeating Ash in a Pokémon battle, Paul decided to give his Murkrow a Dusk Stone, which allowed it to evolve into the Big Boss Pokémon; Honchkrow.

https://youtu.be/ShWq_4PfFpc

o  Wiz: When Paul sends out his Honchkrow, it almost always gets the job done. Even as a Murkrow, it only failed on two different occasions. While it was with Paul, Honchkrow was taught the following; Haze, Sky Attack, Shadow Ball, Night Slash, Ariel Ace, and Dark Pulse.

o   Boomstick: Sky Attack is among one of the strongest Flying Type Moves. It's capable to dealing massive damage... but it takes time to charge the attack, and has a slight chance of missing. Aerial Ace is another powerful Flying-type move which launches an extremely fast attack against one target. Not to mention it can't be evaded and never misses. Talking about Crows being a bad omen, Honchkrow is bad luck incarnate.

https://youtu.be/NvhQHl9b1xM

o  Wiz: Haze is an Ice Type Move. Now, depending on the games or the anime, Haze has one of two different effects. In the games case, all stats abnormalities return to normal

o   Boomstick: But in the anime, Haze is commonly used to blind the opponent in a black smoke, making them unable to see what's going on, similar to that of Smokescreen attack. Why is it that the attacks in the anime are twice as cool and powerful than that in the games?

Honchkrow attacks Dragonite

Honchkrow attacks Dragonite

o  Wiz: Your guess is as good as mine. Furthermore, Night Slash is a Dark-Type move that does a good amount of damage, and has a high chance of performing a Critical Hit. And this is only made worst, thanks to Honchkrow's ability Super Luck, which increased the chances of performing a critical hit.

o   Boomstick: Shadow Ball is a damage dealing Ghost-type move that hurls a shadowy blob at the target. It may also lower the target's Special Defense status. And Dark Pulse is a Special Dark Type Move that does hefty amount of damage. Plus, there's a 20% chance the opponent flinching should Dark Pulse hit. Kaboom Baby.

o  Wiz: Honchkrow is one of Paul's most dangerous Pokemon. Not only did it defeat Ash's Pokémon on nearly every occasion, but it's even tough enough to defeat the Psuedo-Legendary Pokémon Dragonite. But since it is a Dark/Flying type, Honchkrow is weak against Rock, Ice, and Electric Type moves.

https://youtu.be/mNOXFiPLEyQ

1200px-Paul Magmortar

Magmorter

o   Boomstick: Don't forget Fairy Types. And now it's time to talk about Paul's Magmortar; The Blast Pokémon! After Paul gave Chimcar the boot (big mistake pal) he wanted to find another Fire-Type that better met his standards. So he eventually captured a Magmar, which evolved into a Magmortar.

o  Wiz: Paul used his Magmar to defeat Veilstone City Gym Leader Maylene's Lucario, which earned him the Cobble Badge, making it a powerful addition to his team.

https://youtu.be/PqB8NBbiOAI

o   Boomstick: But it was humiliated and defeated by Pyramid King Brandon and his Reigirock and Registeel. Considered that Karma for scolding Maylene for being a weak Gym Leader. Man, if only she could have seen the look on his face when he lost that battle, because it sure put a smile on my face.

o  Wiz: But when his Magmar evolved into a Magmortar, it became the stuff of any trainer’s nightmare. It was able to fend off multiple Pokémon and tank moves that would commonly knock it out, now that’s a serious upgrade. For the moves that Paul taught his Magmortar, Magmortar knows Fire Spin, Fire Punch, Flamethrower, Rock Tomb and Smog.

https://youtu.be/OFhtTihXCSY

https://youtu.be/t-pwzrBoxWQ

https://youtu.be/IfDIbs0OMvg

Magmortar's Flamethrower

Magmortar's Flamethrower

o   Boomstick: Flamethrower is one the most classic Fire-Type moves a Pokemon can learn. The Pokémon breathes, or in Magmortar's case, shoots a stream of fire that does a lot of damage, and has a slight chance of burning the foe. On the other hand, Smog is one of the weaker known Poison-Type moves. The User spray a poisonous gas that might poison the opponent if it hits.

o Wiz: Like when you rip one every time you go to the bathroom.

Boomstick: Yeah…Hey!!!

https://youtu.be/uUhejK33aEI

o  Wiz: Rock Tomb is a Rock-Type move that does a fairly decent amount of damage. But despite its subpar amount of damage, Rock Tomb will always lower the opponent's speed if it hits. And lastly is Fire Punch, which, as it's name implies, the user performs a punch while it's fist is engulfed in fire. And much like Flamethrower, there's a slight chance it will burn the foe.

o   Boomstick: Man, Magmortar seems to love sending things up in smoke. At least it has a Blazing hot winning streak, if you know what I mean.

o  Wiz: During Paul's battle against Barry in the Sinnoh League, Magmortar not only managed to take out Barry’s Skarmory with a single attack, it also managed to endure a super-effective hit from Empoleon's Hydro Cannon, which by the way, is supposed to be the most powerful Water-type attack known to man.

o   Boomstick And let’s not forget, Magmortar has the ability Flame Body. If the opponent performs a physical attack, they risk the chance of getting burned in the process. Now that’s a Pokemon every Fire-Type Gym Leader needs on their team.

https://youtu.be/2eZHO6htC7o

1200px-Paul Electivire

Electivire

o  Wiz: But Paul’s last and most powerful Pokemon is Electivire, an Electric type. This Pokemon has Paul’s traveling companion and go to Pokemon for most of his battle, serves as a rival to Ash’s Pikachu and Infernape, and is one of the few Pokemon Paul has shown any care and concern for. For an Electric type Pokemon, it only knows two Electric type moves, Thunder and Thunder Punch

o   Boomstick: But for an extra layer of defense, Electivire knows Protect, a move that blocks every attack except Feint and Phantom Force, and Light Screen, a move that can be used to protect against Special Attacks and lasts even when the Pokémon who used the move isn't on the battlefield.

o  Wiz: Electivire’s strongest moves are the bone-breaking Brick Break and the oh so powerful Giga Impact. Brick Break can be used to break moves like Light Screen and Giga Impact is basically a physical version of Hyper Beam.

Paul and his Electivire

Paul's Electivire

o   Boomstick: Paul may be act like a trainer who only cares about the power his Pokemon can dish out, but he is a clever tactician on par with Ash. He’s even spied on and copied some of Ash’s moves to help him when certain battle, and yet he continuously insults him every chance he gets.

o  Wiz: With his elite team of Pokemon by his side, Paul has managed to beat Ash on most of their encounters, beaten all the Sinnoh Gym leaders, and the Gym Leaders from Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn regions, and made it into the Sinnoh League. Plus, he has managed to defeat several of Ash's other rivals.

o   Boomstick: But just because he's able to defeat other trainers using his strategy, that doesn't mean that he has a perfect record. For instances, Paul lost to Ash during the Sinnoh League in a Six-on-Six Battle, which I wouldn’t lie, felt so good to watch. Especially after he got his but kicked by the very same Infernape her released as a Chimcar who he thought was weak, but later came back with Ash and totally made Paul eat his own words. Not to mention, he also Lost to the Pyramid King Brandon and the Sinnoh Region champion Cynthia

https://youtu.be/l10N5OEbb84

o  Wiz: Paul’s Arrogant nature has caused him to make rash decisions, like having his Pokémon stand their ground and try blocking in coming attacks instead of dodging, making his Pokémon unnecessary damage from attacks.

o   Boomstick: Which only proves my theory, if Paul had his way, he would slaughter his opponent's Pokémon if they could die

o  Wiz: Not going to argue with you on that one. But after losing to Ash and Infernape in the Sinnoh League and proving to Paul just how wrong her was about them, Ash finally gained Paul respect and appreciation and promised that he would one day challenge them again for a rematch.

Paul leaves Ash on good terms

o   Boomstick: Looks like some of Ash’s good nature finally rubbed off on Paul in the end.

o   Paul: Torterra, Stand By For Battle

Lake Acuity

At Lake Acuity, Paul his training his Pokemon by having them fire their attacks into the lake and the trees. Magmortar fire a Flamethrower at a near by tree, causing it to be engulfed in flames.

Paul: You call that an attack, next time try harder. Ursaring, Foucs Blast on those bushes over there.

Ursaring launches the sphere attack the bushes, causing them to explode. All of a sudden, the silhouette of person emerges from the smoke and it is Katsuki Bakugou in his hero uniform.

Bakuguo: HEY YOU JERK, WHAT WAS THAT FOR.

Paul: Sheesh, what's your deal with that stupid costume.

Bakuguo: I'M STUPID, YOUR THE STUPID ONE FOR ATTACK ME FOR NO REASON. I DEMAND AN APOLOGY.

Paul: I'm not apologizing to someone as pathetic looking as you. Besides you were in my way during training, if anyone deserved an apology, it's me from you.

Bakuguo: THAT'S IT. YOU WANNA FIGHT, LET'S FIGHT

Paul: I've never battle a human before, if you even call yourself human. Guess there's a first time for everything.

FIGHT!

Paul recalls his other Pokémon back to there balls and grabs a random Pokeball from his belt and throws it.

Paul: Aggron, stand by for battle

Aggron emerges from his Pokémon with a roar and stomp on the ground. Bakuguo starts his attack with a AP Shot directly at Aggron, which is extremely affective to the Steel type Pokemon.

Paul: Aggron use Metal Claw.

Aggrons claws begin to glow and it charges at Bakuguo, who leaps out of the way, making Aggron miss the attack and hit the ground instead. The force of the impact does send up a cloud of dust that allows Bakugo to escape another Metal Claw attack from Aggron. Aggron turns around to hit Bakuguo again, but he uses his Blast Rush Turbo to propel himself out of range. Aggron follows after him and lands a hard Metal to the Explosion hero, but he gets right back up ready to fight. Bakuguo then unleashes his AP Shot Auto-Cannon at Aggron.

Paul: Block it, then use Metal Sound.

Putting up his hands, Aggron blocks the the attack, but is still weakened by the blows. Aggron then unleashes a powerful roar sounding like a nails scrapping on a piece of metal, causing Bakugo cover his ears in pain as he falls to his knees. This allows Aggron to swipe at Bakugo with its tail and knock him back. Enraged, Bakuguo gets to his feet and unleashes his Stun Grenade attack at Aggron, knocking it backwards.

Paul: Get up, and then uses Flash Cannon

Aggron gets to its feet and unleashes a beam of light from it's mouth. Bakuguo sees the attack coming and throws one of his makeshift grenades from his belt, causing a small explosion that prevents the attacks from hitting him. Bakugo then unleashes an explosion blast from his hands, but Aggron counters it with another Flash Cannon attack. The two attacks collide with each other, but Bakugo is able to push back the Flash Cannon.

Paul: Use Double Edge.

Aggron rushes at Bakuguo at full speed, but Bakuguo propels himself back and uses his speed to avoid the attack. As Aggron crashes through a nearby rock, Bakugo speeds up to it ands hits Aggron with a huge explosion from behind, causing it to faint from the attack. Paul calls back Aggron

Paul: Ursaring, stand by for battle.

Ursaring emerges from the Pokeball with a roar. Bakugo cracks his neck as he gets ready for his next opponent.

Paul: Use Hammer Arm

Ursaring’s arms start to glow and he charges at Bakuguo, who stands his grounds. As Ursaring arms comes down, Bakuguo catches his arm, blocking his attacks with his gloves. The force of the blow sends Bakuguo’s feet into the ground. Bakuguo then uses his Stun Grenade attack to send the bear Pokémon back into the grass. Uruasing gets back up and runs at him with another Hammer arm, this time hitting the explosion hero in the chest and knocking him backwards.

Paul: Now use Focus Blast

Ursaring then charges a ball of energy that blast at Bakuguo, who counters with a AP Shot, colliding with the Focus Blast and creating a huge explosion, blowing them both back. As the smoke clears, Ursaring gets to his feet only for Bakuguo to come in using Blast Rush Turbo to propel himself forward through the smoke.

Bakuguo: DIE TO STUPID TEDDY BEAR!!

Bakuguo then uses Sun Gernade that explodes next to Ursaring chest. Although the bear Pokemon is blown back, Ursaring is still able to get up, but badly burned.

Paul: Use Bulk Up, then use Hammer Arm again

Ursaring’s body begins to glow red with energy as its attack status rises. Then its arms begin to glow again and he charges at Bakuguo, who this time dodged the attack by propelling himself with his gauntlets. Bakugo then unleashes a Barrage of explosions from his AP Shot Auto-Cannon.

Bakuguo: WHY DON’T YOU TRY THIS ON FOR SIZE.

Paul: Ursaring, counter with Hyper Beam.

As Bakuguo unleashes a powerful blast from his gauntlets, Ursaring lets loose a Hyper Beam attack that collides with each other and creates a huge explosion. Not wasting any time, Bakuguo rushes towards the Bear Pokémon and begins punching it repeatedly. Unable to move after the Hyper Beam attack, Ursaring is forced to brave through the punches. After it recovers, Ursaring then whacks the UA Student away with a swipe from it’s massive paws.

Paul: Use Slash, but aim for the legs.

Ursaring charges at Bakuguo as his clash extend. When Bakuguo tries to dodge it, Ursaring is able to slash his legs with his claws, causing him to stumble. Though his legs is bleeding, Bakuguo gets up and uses his AP Shot Auto-Cannon attack to bombard Ursaring again until he falls unconscious. Paul then calls him back to his Pokeball.

Paul: Okay that's it no more messing around. Torterra, stand by for battle.

Torterra emerges from his Pokeball, stomping the floor ready to fight.

Paul: Use Leaf Storm

Torterra unleashes a swarm of sharp from its tree, but Bakuguo counters with with AP Shot Auto-Cannon attack, destroying all of the leaves in the process.

Bakuguo: STOP USING YOU STUPID PETS TO DEFEND YOURSELF, FIGHT LIKE A HERO

Paul: I'd prefer to fight like a Champion. Use Frenzy Plant

Torterra begins to glow as numerous vines emerge from the the ground and head straight for Bakuguo. He then uses Blast Rush Turbo to propel himself into the air to evade the fines and blast some of the vines, setting some of them on fire. However, Bakuguo is hit by one of the vines, sending him falling to the ground. Bakuguo gets his feet, sweating intensively.

Paul: Use Hyper Beam

Torterra charges ups a massive beam from its mouth before firing it at Bakuguo.

Bakuguo: Howitzer Impact

Bakuguo unleash a massive explosion from his hands, countering the Hyper beam attack. The impact of the two attacks causes another bigger explosion, causing everything around them to be reduces to ash.

Bakuguo: YEAH, NOW YOUR SPEAKING MY LANGUAGE.

Although Bakuguo is weakened from the attack, he notices that Torterra is not moving after yelling at him. Sensing a opening, Bakuguo unleashes a barrage of AP Shot Auto-Cannon at Torterra, who takes the attack head on. Bakuguo then launches himself at Torterra and prepares to attack him with his gauntlets. Paul then notices that Torterra has finally regained its movements from the hyper beam attack.

Paul: Quick use Cruch and bite down his leg

Before Bakuguo can attack him, Torterra chomps down on Bakuguo foot and flings him to the ground, causing his attack to miss and fire into the air. Torterra begins to toss Bakuguo around and in the air and repeatedly slams him into the ground. Torterra then releases Bakugo from him mouth and throws him into a tree. Bakuguo then struggles to his feat, exhausted from his his all the fight, but sweating heavily

Paul: Now this is just some friendly advice, I'd stay down if I were you

Bakuguo: NEVER!!!

Bakuguo then propels himself straight at Torterra.

Paul: Leaf Storm again.

Torterra fires his leaves at Bakuguo, but Bakuguo effortlessly dodges the leaves and unleashes a Stun Gernade blast right at Torterra's face. The shock from the blast sends Torterra rolling back before it collapse, forcing Paul to call it back to it Pokeball

Bakuguo: HA, WHOSE THE PATHEIC ONE NOW, BECASUE IT SURE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE ME.

Paul: GRRR!!! Honchkrow stand by for battle. Use Haze to cover yourself, then us Sky Attack.

The crow Pokémon unleashes a cloud of mist into the surrounding area, dimming Bakuguo's vision and knocking him out with a Sky Attack. Bakuguo continues to search for Honckkrow, as it constantly begins to attack him left and right. Having had enough, Bakuguo spins around and unleashes AP Shot Auto-Cannon in various direction. This causes the Haze cloud to disappear and also hit Hochkrow in the process, revealing it's location

Bakuguo: THERE YOU ARE

As Honchkrow flies into the sky to escape, Bakuguo use Blast Rush Turbo to propel himself into the air to pursue the Pokémon. With his right hand, Bakuguo keeps himself propel while using his other hand to shoot his AP Shot at Honchkrow.

Paul: Fly into the clouds, then use Shadow Ball

Honchkrow files into a nearby cloud, and is able to loose Bakuguo in the process. As Bakuguo looks around for Honchkrow, a dark ball of energy appear out of nowhere and hits him the arm, making him loose control of his balance.

Paul: Make him fall with Sky Attack

Bakuguo hears this and fires his AP Shot Auto-Cannon at the oncoming Honckrow, but it uses it speed to avoid the attacks and slam into Bakuguo, making him loose consciousness and fall to the ground. When he wakes up and sees the ground, Bakugo uses his Stun Grenade to soften the impact, making his fall less painful. As Bakuguo gets to his feet from out of the hole he made, he notices that his gaunlets are badly aged.

Paul: Figured those gloves of yours were important in some way, so I had Honchkrow focus its attacks on them, fracturing them. You may have power, but you lack the brain to use it.

Bakuguo: WHY YOU LITTLE...

Bakuguo then notices Honchkrow coming at him at high speed with another Sky Attack. He waits patiently until the crow Pokemon is closer, then unleashes a Stun Grenade blast right in its face. Blast shoots Honchkrow back and it falls to the ground, but it's able to get back it's feet and fly back into the air, even in a weaken state.

Paul: Use Haze again, then use Shadow ball

Honchkrow unleashes another black cloud the covers Bakuguo and the rest of the area. But this Time, Bakuguo is ready. He pulls out another makeshift grenade and throw it on the ground. The resulting explosion clears the cloud of Haze, right as Honchkrow unleashes it's Shadow Ball attack, allowing him to dodge the attack. He then throws another grenade at the Crow Pokemon, knocking it out of the sky. As Honchkrow tries to regain its flight, Bakuguo swoops up and grabs it by the wing and uses his Ex-Catapult to fling it into some trees, causing it to faint.

Bakuguo: LOOKS LIKE WE ARE HAVING FRIED CHICKEN TONIGHT

Paul: It's time to fight fire with fire. Magmortar, Stand by for battle.

Paul throws a Pokeball and Magmortar appears

Bakuguo: NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

Paul: Use Flamethrower

Magmortar unleashes its signature Flamethrower at Bakuguo.

Bakuguo: AP Shot

Bakuguo retaliates with his AP Shot attack, which clashes with Magmortar's Flamethrower evenly before he increases its power, overpowering Flamethrower and sending the Blast Pokemon back. Magmortar recovers and gets to its feet.

Paul: Time to Turn up the heat! Use Rock Tomb.

Magmortar aims its hands in the air and a small rock appears, which begins to grow larger. he then throws it at Bakuguo, which breaks into smaller pieces before engulfing him in a rock prison.

Paul: Now surround him with Fire Spin

Magmorter unleashes a swirling flame of fire from its mouth which surrounds the Rock Tomb in a tornado of fire. Feeling victorious, Paul and Magmortar start to walk away.

Paul: Let's see him get out of that

Suddenly the structure begins to shake, making Paul and Magmortar turn around, and the whole thing explodes into fiery pieces, making it rain small fire pebbles. Bakuguo then emerges, sweating intensely

Paul: How did you...

Bakuguo: MORE SWEAT, BIGGER EXPLOSIONS DUMMY

Bakuguo then uses his Blast Rush Turbo to propel himself toward Magmortar.

Paul: Use Smog

Magmortar releases black smoke from its mouth, covering the area in a black cloud, making it hard for Bakuguo to see. Trying to brush the smoke from his eyes, he fails to see Magmortar's flaming fist in front of him, as he punches Bakuguo away. Bakuguo recovers and stays in midair to keep Magmortar at a range.

Paul use Flamethrower

Magmortar continues unleashing his Flamethrower, which Bakuguo swiftly and repeatedly dodges around. Bakuguo then dodges again before diving straight at the Blast Pokemon, preparing to strike a finishing blow with his Stun Grenade from his damaged gauntlet.

Paul: Counter with Fire Punch

Magmortar sees this and charges towards the U-A Student, clashing with the gauntlet with his fire fist. But as the blows make contact, a huge explosion and blinding light is created. When the smoke clears, Paul, whom had been blasted back by the explosion, seeing that his Magmortar fainted but Bakuguo is nowhere in sight. Just as Paul returns his Pokemon to its Pokeball, Bakuguo lunges at him and grabs him by the throat, with his eyes glowing red. It is seen that his gauntlets have been destroyed and all he has left are his pair hands and ruined costume.

Bakuguo: NOT SO TOUGH ARE YOU WITH OUT YOUR LITTLE PETS

Paul: Yeah...well...I've got one last card up my selves.

With his free hand, Paul picks his final Pokeball from his belt and drops it to the ground, releasing Electivire. Seeing its trainer in danger, uses Thunder Punch to know Bakuguo away.

Bakuguo: ENOUGH ALREADY.

Bakuguo lunges at Electivire to use his Stun Grenade attack.

Paul: Block it with Protect

Electivire summons a shield around it and protect it's from Bakuguo's attacks. He continues to try and blast his way through it, but he barely makes a dint. When the shield fades, Paul ready a command.

Paul: Use Brick Break to send him off then use Thunder

Electivire hand begins to glow and he sends Bakuguo flying back with a chop to the chest. He then grabs Bakuguo's legs and unleashes a Thunder Attack, shocking Bakuguo as he screams in pain before he is throw to the side.

Bakuguo: THAT IS IT, YOU ARE A DEAD MAN, I'M ENDING THIS RIGHT HERE AND NOW.

Bakuguo then races at Electivire ready to unleashes Howitzer Impact.

Paul: Use Thunder

Electivire unleashes a Thunder attack, which collides with with Bakuguo's attack, which is easily pushed back by Bakuguo's attack. the force then sends Electivire flying back into Paul, which collides into a hill.

Bakuguo: GOOD RIDDANCE.

As Bakuguo struggles to walk away, he is suddenly shocked by a Thunder attack. He turns around and sees Electivire and Paul still standing.

Bakuguo: HOW DID YOU...

Paul: It's called Protect, duh. How finish this with Giga Impact

Electivire then charges at Bakuguo in a ball of purple energy. Bakuguo struggles to fire his explosions from his hands, but they don't do much damage to Electivire. When the Giga impact hits into Bakuguo, he body is blasted apart, and his head, arms, and legs fly off into the sky. Meanwhile, Electivire strikes a pose, celebrating its victory.

Paul: Well off to the Pokemon Center I guess

Paul and Electivire walk off into the sunset as Bakuguo's Body parts fall back down to the ground.

KO

Results[]

Boomstick: Wow, those guys really need to take chill pill.

Wiz: Both these hot tempered rivals were insanely powerful in their own way, not to mention total jerks. But only one had the tools necessary to take the other out.

Boomstick: Sure Paul mainly relied on his Pokemon to do the fighting for him, but he knows when to keep his cool during a battle. Too bad I can't say the same for Bakuguo, who almost always want to come in swinging.

Wiz: But don't count him out just yet, Bakuguo may usually do his strategizing later, but his explosion were equal to that of a Fire Type move, making him able to do deadly damage to Paul's Pokemon that are weak against Fire Type moves, like Torterra and Aggron.

Boomstick: But that's when Bakuguo's advantages came to an end. Using his Pokemon, Paul was able to keep his opponent at bay and weaken them long enough for him to deliver the final blow.

Wiz: Bakuguo may have been one of U-A High's top students and a fierce foe to all villains, but Paul's col and calculated strategies and arsenal of Pokemon allowed him to gain the upper hand.

Boomstick: You know Wiz, after this "heated" battle of "Cold hearted" rivals, I doubt you'll find time to give a "hand" to either of them.

Wiz: The winner is Paul.

The winner is Paul
