Death Battle Fanon Wiki

Description[]

Skylanders vs. Super Smash Bros. Season 5 Finale. To conqueror other worlds, these two imprison their foes within the forms of toys.

Introduction[]

Wiz: Conquest. It can be obtained through many different means, be it with overwhelming strength or tactical genius.

Boomstick: Or sometimes, it can be done by getting whatever opposition there is out of the way by trapping them inside of toys.

Wiz: Like Kaos, the Dark Portal Master and archenemy of the Skylanders.

Boomstick: And Tabuu, the Ruler of Subspace and nemesis of the Brawlers. He's Wiz and Boomstick.

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Kaos[]

Wiz: Skylands, a real of magic, wonder and adventure.

Boomstick: Which definitely wasn't created by Spyro at the end of Dawn of the Dragon. Speaking of Spyro, the next incarnation of him was a member of the Skylanders.

Wiz: Led by the Portal Master Eon, the Skylanders were a varied team of heroes, dedicated to protecting the Skylands as they understood its important as a connection to all realms in the universe. During this organisation's thousands-of-years running as protectors of this realm, they have done battle with a wide and often frankly bizarre series of opponents. And none are as well known or remembered than the Dark Portal Master Kaos.

  • Background
    • Age: 1000>
    • Height: Est. 4’
    • Occupation: Dark Portal Master
    • Element: Kaos
    • Archenemy of Eon
    • His own clone doesn’t like him

Boomstick: With a name like 'Kaos', you knew this guy was gonna grow up to be evil.

Wiz: As a matter of fact, Kaos' desire to rule over others did show itself at a very young age, where he attempted to organize his fellow toddlers in his nursery into an "evil baby army of evil drool".

Popup: In the Skylanders animated series, Kaos is in fact the son of Eon.

Boomstick: Man had ambitions. I can respect that but it got crushed at naptime. Still, Kaos never lost that ambition to rule, and when he discovered he was in fact a Portal Master, himself, a being capable of manipulating magical energies and items known as Portals, he decided to strike it out on his own to fully realize his dreams.

Wiz: Along with his ever-suffering butler troll Glumshanks, and more specifically, he was a Dark Portal Master, one who was aligned with the embodiment of evil itself, the Darkness.

Boomstick: Lot of on the nose names here. Aside from the Skylanders themselves. I mean, how do you land on the sky?

Wiz: No, they're called that because they're the inhabitants of Skylands. Speaking of names, Kaos also shares his with his own unique element; the Kaos Element.

Boomstick: That's right; this guy has an element all to himself. Given to him by the Darkness, it allows Kaos to manipulate nearly all the other elements to his hearts content.

      • Summoning minions
    • Elements
      • Magic
      • Tech
      • Fire
      • Water
      • Life
      • Undead
      • Air
      • Earth
    • Throne
    • Giant Evil Head
    • Doom Jet
    • Evilizier
    • Weapon Manifestations
    • Ultra Traptanium Form

Wiz: He specifically does this by placing down holographic markers bearing the different elemental symbol for a variety of different effects.

Boomstick: The fire one spews out a double of fireballs, the air one lifts enemies up to slam them onto the ground and tech is used as a short-ranged explosion. Basically, anyone who steps on one of these symbols is in for a world of hurt. He's like an evil version of the Avatar and then some.

Popup: As demonstrated when a captured Villain, Kaos’ magic refilled his time guage, which takes damage the same as a life bar, so it’s possible Kaos’ magic can be used to heal himself.

Wiz: These elemental abilities are incredibly useful to Kaos inside of battle, and they're certainly not all he has.

Boomstick: He has himself a sweet throne that not only looks awesome, but also hovers in the air before slamming down on any poor Skylander below him. In terms of height, not status of course, but yeah, he is pretty full of himself.

Wiz: So much so that his most iconic ability to to conjure up a, *ahem*, giant floating head.

Boomstick: It started off as just an placeholder image, like the kind you use on a Facebook profile, but Kaos was eventually able to find a way to weaponize it. Now it can fire laser beams from its eyes and unleash a supersonic roar. Plus, he looks a lot more ominous that way, and aside from that manifestation, he can also conjure up a series of long and close range weapons to bombard his foes with, like Fate's Gilgamesh.

Wiz: During his time battling against the various different Skylander sub-factions, Kaos has used several other different gadgets. There's the Evilizier, a ray gun that can turn anything it hits into a loyal servant to Kaos and the Doom Jet, his own personal flyer that's on par with the Supercharger Vehicles the Skylanders use. And each one of his plots to take over Skylands has led to Kaos taking on a number of different forms.

Boomstick: Although each of them required a certain circumstance to come by, with the right tools he should be able to reuse it. For example, he could become the gigantic crystalline Super Evil Kaos with the Evilizier.

Wiz: One game, however, showed that there was one transformation he could still take on even after losing the material means to, and that was his Ultra Traptanium Form.

Boomstick: This time around, Kaos takes some cues from Safer Sephiroth, sprouting wings and two killer looking blades, and can now send out elemental bullets.

Popup: Kaos' future transformations are likely more powerful than the Traptanium one, which is why Kaos wouldn't normal utilize it even if he can access it any time.

Wiz: Kaos is certainly more than capable of holding his own, but the true calling card ability of a Portal Master, let alone a Dark one, is the ability to send out minions to fight for him, and Kaos has entire armies at his back-and-call.

  • Minions
    • Drow
    • Trolls
    • Spell Punks
    • Greebles
    • Cyclopses
    • K-Bots
    • Jawbreakers
    • Fire Viper
    • Minions
      • Evil Skylander copies
    • The Hydra
      • Elemental traps

Boomstick: He's got spear touting dark elf Drow, old-fashioned and technologically armed Trolls, mischievous little wizards called Spell Punks with one for each element and K-Bots, machines built to patrol his castle with high-tech weaponry. Not to mention the giant monsters he has on hand.

Wiz: He has a Fire Viper, which is exactly what it sounds like, and the brute-like Jawbreakers which pack a vicious punch. But above all else, Kaos' most powerful minion is the four-headed Hydra.

Boomstick: Each head has a corresponding elemental ability to it. One can rain down fireballs from the sky, another summons a grid of lasers, one sends out bugs leading harmful green bubbles and another summons Doom Sharks. Not sure why that's needed, though, since Kaos can already summon them himself.

Wiz: That is a bit odd, yes. Maybe Kaos simply learned how to do it himself after the Hydra fled into the Darkness. After all, it is the Portal Master's forte to summon things, like evil versions of the Skylanders.

Popup: Kaos only had access to Arkheyans when he had the Iron Fist of Arkus.

  • Feats
    • Is able to take on numerous Skylanders who;
      • Can survive fighting Boris Blisterbottom
      • Can pilot Supercharger Vehicles
      • Can cause earthquakes and shift mountains
    • Travelled back to Skylands
    • Conquered Skylands
    • Tricked both his Mom and Golden Queen
    • Destroyed the Core of Light
    • Defeated Cyclopes Queen, Eon, the Skylanders

Boomstick: So yeah, Kaos has a lot of people for him to throw at the Skylanders, but he's never afraid to do the throwing about himself, having had dozens of battles with the Skylanders himself, and those guys are incredibly powerful.

Wiz: One Skylander in particular, Sonic Boom, is said to be capable of dislodging mountains with a single shriek, and Kaos was in the same room as her when she gave off one of these.

Boomstick: All that did to him was leave his ears ringing a bit. Other Skylanders are also capable of causing full on volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, so taking them on is no small feat for Kaos.

Wiz: Speaking of which, Kaos is fully capable of harming any Skylander with his own power, and that is nothing to be sneezed at either. Skylanders are able to survive the attacks and proximity of a villain known as Boris Blisterbottom.

Boomstick: That was my school nickname you know. Should have listened to my mother and made sure my bike seat was screwed on properly when I decided to no-hands drive. Point being, this giant Chompy was able to boil the entire Nightmare Ocean, a feat worth 1.7 quadrillion tons of TNT (Vrokorta).

Wiz: That's not even the height of Kaos' power. You recall him Doom Jet, the one capable of rivaling Supercharger vehicles. Well that's because, like them, the Doom Jet possesses a Rift Engine.

Boomstick: How powerful is this engine? Well, it was used to overpower the Darkness, who was described as a threat to the entire universe. And more on the topic, a hillbilly inventor named Mags said that if the Rift Engine was improperly tinkered with, it could destroy said universe. So yeah, real special mechanics are recommended when dealing with those vehicles.

Popup: The Rift Engines where empowered by a magical lightning bolt. Even if this was the only reason it could reach this level of power, this upgrade was shared by every Supercharger vehicle and Kaos' Doom Jet remains on par with them.

Wiz: Kaos' feats of piloting said Doom Jet are also a good indicator of the speed at which Kaos can operate. Here's how this goes; various Skylanders are capable of weaponizing laser or light as part of their abilities and thus show reaction feats on that level when fighting against similar foes. Now, Supercharger vehicles are obviously much faster than your average Skylander, and we can estimate as much by comparing them to real life vehicles. In this case, comparing the Sun Runner to the New Horizon's space probe, the fastest space ship ever built. By taking into account the fastest known running speeds of a normal person for a Skylander and comparing it to the speeds of the New Horizon for the Sun Runner, then Kaos should be capable of reacting at 1500 times the speed of light.

Boomstick: Holy hell! And with his tenacity, Kaos was even able to destroy the Core of Light, which kept the darkness at bay, and banish the Skylanders to Earth in the forms of toys. Good thing there are us Portal Masters there, otherwise he'd have won. I'm a Trigger Happy guy myself.

Wiz: Good choice for a Skylander.

Boomstick: Skylander?

Wiz:...Anyway, with such powerful abilities, it falls to Kaos' personality to be his biggest weakness.

Boomstick: Yeah, the guy basically has the mentality of an entitled brat, and his arrogance has led to the Skylanders handing him his ass numerous times.

Wiz: Still, the fact it takes an entire army to stand against him proves how large Kaos' drive is to just conqueror everything.

Tabuu[]

Wiz: If the name wasn't a bit enough clue, the world of Super Smash Bros is all about one thing; fighting.

Boomstick: It's Mortal Kombat mixed with Nintendo characters for one heck of a hectic free-for-all.

Wiz: In spite of essentially being forced to fight each other for the entertainment of a disembodied hand, all those involved where pretty chill with it and actually seemed to have a lot of fun just throwing down with each other.

Boomstick: The main setting of all this was the World of Trophies, created by said disembodied hand. But not everyone could be a part of it.

Wiz: Enter the mysterious and desolate dimension known as Subspace.

Boomstick: Not a great place to visit, considering it's nothing but an empty void, so imagine having to live there forever.

Wiz: That was exactly the situation forced upon the ruler of Subspace himself, Tabuu.

  • Background
    • Height: N/A
    • Occupation: Leader of the Subspace Army
    • Embodiment of Subspace
    • Enemy of the Brawlers
    • Collects his foes as trophies
    • Returned as a spirit guarded by a Metal Bayonetta

Boomstick: This grumpy Doctor Manhattan looking geezer was essentially trapped in the very dimension he ruled. Imagine that; ruling over something but being unable to ever leave it for one reason or another.

Wiz/Boomstick: *Laughing uncomfortably*

Wiz: Well at an rate, Tabuu was indeed stuck in Subspace, and he wanted more than the void that encompassed him.

Boomstick: Like any person who didn't have something, he decided to get it by declaring all out war on the World of Trophies.

Wiz: Specifically, Tabuu planned to use Subspace Bombs to capture entire portions of land to teleport them into Subspace, creating for himself a collection of bright and vibrant worlds.

Boomstick: Needless to say, when the Smashers found out that their world was being taken by a big blue hoarder, they weren't happy and decided to take the fight to him in Subspace. But they had yet to learn that fighting an opponent in their home territory was a bad idea. Trust me, it was before the Belmonts joined the roster.

Wiz: That's because Tabuu is no slouch when it comes to fighting either, having an entire collection of techniques to utilize against the Smashers.

  • Techniques
    • Teleportation
    • Eye Lasers
    • Bullet Rain
    • Shark Blade
    • Diving Slash
    • Golden Bracket
    • Chain of Light
    • Electrical Shield
    • Rapid Chop
    • Pinpoint Explosion
    • Ghost Projection
    • Dragon Laser
    • Shuriken Boomerang
    • Off Waves
      • Turns those hit into trophies

Boomstick: First and foremost, he can teleport around Subspace to his heart...core thing's content, sometimes doing so explosively, making it real hard to draw a bead on him before he uses any number of his attacks, like his Bullet Rain, where he fires out a barrage of miniature projectiles from his hand before topping it off with an explosive sphere of energy.

Wiz: Tabuu is also able to summon different weapons to use, like his Diving Slash blade or his Shuriken Boomerang, and even a massive dragon-like cannon to fire a massive beam of scorching hot energy.

Boomstick: But why would you need to summon weapons when you can become them yourself? That's exactly what Tabuu is able to do with such forms as the Golden Bracket, which he uses to catch opponents before slamming them down into whatever surface he's hovering over, and the Shark Blade, where he becomes what is pretty much a massive knife blade to charge and slice anyone in his way.

Wiz: Well, transforming into the very weapons he uses is certainly a neat ability, but Tabuu's Chains of Light shows his practical use of weaponry is nothing to be sneezed at.

Boomstick: You get yourself caught by one of these chains, you'll be lucky to simply get smashed around with it, because Tabuu can use these chains to control the minds of other people. I guess that's what happens when you take the phrase "Chains of Command" to the literal extent.

Wiz: Tabuu can also grow himself to a massive size to bathe the arena with his eye lasers, strike repeatedly with karata chops, send out ghostly copies of himself that explode on impact, surround himself with electrically-charged orbs or generate explosions out of nowhere.

Boomstick: Each one of these hit like a truck made of missiles, capable of taking out any Brawler with just a few hits.

Wiz: But when he wants to take out a Brawler in just one move, Tabuu reveals his wings and unleashes the Off-Waves.

Boomstick: What are the Off-Waves? Nothing special, just an omnidirectional shockwave that can turn anyone hit by it into a helpless statue!

Popup: It appears that hitting the Chains of Light can also turn someone into a trophy.

Wiz: A trophy to be exact, a state of imprisonment which cannot be escaped without a special medallion. Fortunately, King Dedede happened to have a stockpile of them.

Boomstick: Penguin to the rescue!

Wiz: Speaking of the Smashers, Tabuu being trapped in Subspace means he can rarely fight against them himself, but that's where the Subspace Army comes in.

  • Subspace Army
    • Primids
    • ROB Squad
    • Koopa Troop
    • Galleom
    • Duon
    • Subspace Gunships
      • Deploys the Subspace Bombs
    • Master Hand
      • Controlled via Chains of Light

Boomstick: The Subspace Army is primarily comprised of Primids, beings comprised of Shadow Bugs.

Wiz: Shadow Bugs were created by harvesting particles from Mr. Game and Watch, enabling dozens of Primids to be created on a single battlefield, armed with their swords, guns and fiery skills. Speaking of which, a number of the sub-divisions of the Army come from other Nintendo worlds, obtained by Tabuu via his manipulations of the inhabitants of the World of Trophies.

Boomstick: That's how he got the Koopa Troop and the ROB Squad on his side, by manipulating their respective leaders, Bowser and the Ancient Minister. And leading these forces is the rhino-like Galleom and the two-torsoed Duon, both armed with guns and cannons.

Popup: There are other enemies in Smash Bros but it is unknown if they are directly affiliated with the Subspace Army.

Wiz: And the Subspace Army comes equipped with Subspace Gunships, which carry the aforementioned Subspace Bombs used to sent entire worlds into Subspace's clutches. And any unfortunate Smashers that get caught in those blasts.

Boomstick: That's how they learn just how much of a tough customer Tabuu is.

  • Feats
    • Can battle against Smashers who;
      • Can survive Marx’s Black Hole
      • Keep pace with Kirby who traveled on the Warp Star
      • Can battle and hurt each other
    • Turned 30+ Brawlers into trophies
    • Manipulated the World of Trophies into war
    • His death destroyed Subspace
    • Designed a giant maze
    • Defeated Ancient Minister, Master Hand, the Brawlers

Wiz: The various Smashers he does battle against include Kirby, who's fast enough to pilot the Warp Star at 196 quadrillion times the speed of light (Eficiente).

Boomstick: But wait, that was in the canon Kirby series. Wouldn't the Smash Bros universe be separate from it?

Wiz: Actually, Master Hand and Crazy Hand did appear in a Kirby game, suggesting it has a direct connection to the Smash universe.

Boomstick: So that means it could be totally canon that Tabuu can bitch-slap around beings like Kirby, Meta Knight and Dedede who can take on reality warping galaxy level threats, or just imprison them within a massive maze inside of Subspace where they need to fight their way out through an entire gauntlet of foes.

Wiz: This 'maze' is a pretty bizarre invention of Tabuu's. But even more bizarre than that is that Tabuu isn't just the ruler of Subspace; he is Subspace.

Boomstick: Say what?

Wiz: As it turns out, Tabuu is in fact a living extension of Subspace, serving as a means for the dark realm to project itself as a conscious being.

Boomstick: Kind of explains why he can't leave it.

Wiz: The power of the Subspace threatens the entire universe of the World of Trophies. This would make Tabuu an equal threat to the universe's creator, Master Hand, whose polar opposite, Crazy Hand, should be capable of destroying the World of Trophies, having even enslaved Master Hand with his Chains of Light to serve as the false leader of the Subspace Army.

Boomstick: And even getting his wings shattered by Sonic only caused Tabuu's Off-Waves to become a simple one-hit K.O.

Wiz: Tabuu is certainly a powerful being, but far from indestructible, as he and Subspace can be destroyed if his body takes too much damage. Plus, a lot of his attacks, whilst powerful, leave him vulnerable for quite a bit.

Popup: The details of Tabuu’s becoming a spirit in Ultimate are hazy at best, since he was canonically destroyed along with Subspace, so a possible defeat at Galeem’s hand can be considered non-canon.

Boomstick: Ah, I take it we're nearing the end of the analysis. Before we do so, I just want to ask what the heck is Tabuu meant to represent in the Smash Bros universe? I know there's a whole series of theories about the series as a whole, but nothing really concrete on Tabuu.

Wiz: Well, the best theories come from vagueness, but I actually have my own theory on what Tabuu is meant to represent.

Boomstick: Lay it on us egghead.

Wiz: I believe Tabuu is fact represents a parent trying to live their childhood through their children, using them to collect the toys they always wanted. This is because Master Hand is often viewed as a representation of a young child playing with his toys, and it ends up being controlled by Tabuu via his Chains of Light so that he can capture parts of the World of Trophies to possess. Hence the name Tabuu, because it is generally socially forbidden for adults to play with toys.

Boomstick: Then maybe Nintendo shouldn't produce so many Amiibo. But even with Tabuu's demise, he remains as one of the greatest foes to the Brawlers and their world.

Wiz: The realm of Subspace was truly a forbidden one.

Interlude[]

Wiz: Alright the combatants are set, time to end this debate once and for all.

Boomstick: It's time for a Death Battle!

The Battle[]

Kaos' castle floated through the sky, as it's owner, Kaos himself, stood on the edge of his portal, peering down through it in interest.

Kaos: Let's see...what to take next? Ah!

Through his portal, he spied a large floating expanse of land.

Kaos: More land than sky! It's perfect for my kingdom.

But as he watched, shadows fell over the floating landmass. Angling the portal, he saw a series of ships flying through the air on the opposite side of the island. These belonged to the Subspace Army, with the fleet's commander, the Ancient Minister, looking through the windows of the control room of the leading ship. Knowing that his master was essentially breathing down the back of his neck, even from Subspace, the Minister decided to take this new patch of land for Tabuu. Down on the floating island, Shadow Bugs clustered together to form entire legions of Primids, whilst members of the Koopa Troop and ROB Squad fell from the ships to join them.

Kaos: Hey!

His giant blue head switched to life, hovering in front of his castle and glaring angrily at the opposing fleet.

Kaos: I called dibs on this! For daring to cross me, KAOS, prepare yourself for your doom!

From the dark clouds behind his castle, Drow airships flew forward and docked onto the island, their inhabitants, ranging from Drow, Trolls and K-Bots charging from the airborne vehicles towards the Subspace Army.

FIGHT!

The Drow and Primid lines collided with each other, the former faction's long reaching spears meaning that several of the Primids where skewered with the weapons. However, there were gaps in the Drow offensive line, which is what several laser blade toting Primids took advantage of to attack the Dark Elves, striking at them with the laser swords, maybe of the Drow falling. These sword wielding Primids, however, ended up with disks embedded in their heads courtesy of the Drow Witches. These witches then drew back to allow Drow Goliaths to charge forward with their glowing green shields held before them, plowing through the Primid Lines. One Goliath's charge came to an end in time for him to duck beneath a boomerang hurled at it from a Boom Primid. As it straighten up, however, the Boomerang arced back through the air and struck the giant elf on the back of the head, knocking him forward to be beset by a Fire Primid, which spewed a burst of fire into the unfortunate Goliath's face.

Meanwhile, the Troll Army and Koopa Troop engaged each other directly; winged Koopa Troopas dive bombed them within their shells, Goombas headbutted the Trolls wielding guns as they also rained down fire on the brown minions and Troll Stompers and Tanks lit up the battlefield with explosions, sending burned Goombas flying. A particular occurrence on this part of the fight was the two Hammer Bros hurling their namesake weapons at the trolls, clonking many of them on the head. One Troll wielding a wrench was able to get by the projectiles and swinging his wrench down at one of the Hammer Bros. In response, the turtle-like creature raised one of his hammers to block the strike, but was still forced back by the strike. The Troll then yanked his hammer forward so that the jaws snagged the hammer handle, pulling it out of the Bros' hand so that he could deliver an uppercut with the tool to his jaw, sending him flying backwards. His partner turned around to see his demise before getting unceremoniously stepped on by a Troll Stomper. The pilots of said machine didn't pay this any heed, as they were attempting to shoot down the Bullet Bills flying around it.

This left the K-Bots and ROB Squad to engage each other, the two robotic factions trading projectiles of missiles and lasers from the ROBs whilst the K-Bot Gloopgunners fired globs of green goo. K-Bot Splodeshards charged forward with their forwards rotating spike appendages, smashing several ROB Sentries with them. However, the Splodeshards did not go unscathed themselves, as ROB Sentries were able to score hits on them that sent them flying. A K-Bot Mineminer oversaw its fellow robots' battling before sending out a wave of electricity from itself that electrocuted the ROBs, enabling the Splodeshards to smash them and the Gloopgunners to bombard them with goo globs. However, some of the ROBs where able to use their boosters to fly over the expanding radius, before raining down laser beams at the K-Bots, leaving them with burning holes before exploding. These ROBs where then taken down themselves by the Mineminer when it fired out metallic orbs that exploded on contact with them.

Behind the lines of Kaos' army, a group of spell punks flew forward to assist the Drow and Trolls, using their various powers to empower and support them; the Life Punks healed a Drow Goliath when it was hit by laser blasts as it barreled forward through Primids, Tech Punks rained down lasers from the sky on the various Subspace Units, the Undead Punks summoned skeletal trolls to assist their living counterparts against the Koopa Troop and Water Punks froze several ROBs.

Kaos' giant head cackled as he watched the tide turn in his favor.

Kaos: Yes! Yes! You cannot stand up to Kaos!

On his ship, the Ancient Minister observed the battle and turned towards the Primids operative the controls and nodded to them. This was their cue to disassemble into Shadow Bugs and move out of the windows to the battlefield outside. There, they reformed into two new forms; Galleom and Duon. The two giant commanders let out roars and charged forward at Kaos' forces. As he charged forward, Duon's two torsos rotated around methodically to dispatch large amounts of Drow and Trolls respectively, one torso using its guns to mow them down whilst the sword-wielding one slashed through their weapons, shields and bodies. Galleom, meanwhile, used his immense strength to pick up two Drow Goliaths in both hands and smashed them together, dispelling them before grabbing the top of a Troll Stomper and ripping it off, sending its occupants flying with cries of alarm. Seeing the damage the two were wrecking, the Drow Gunships bombarded them with cannonfire, forcing them to cross their arms as a measure of defense. Their predicament didn't last long, however, as the Subspace Ships opened fire with their own cannons, bringing down several Drow ships before the rest concentrated their fire on them. Now undaunted, the two generals continued their penetration of the enemy army, Galleom by turning himself into his tank mode to plow through trolls and Drow, Duon by using his wheel-based lower half to zoom forward, using his sword wielding torso to slice through opposition. An Air Spell Punk noticed the two of them charging forward and so used its magic to enhance the speed of some Chompies so they could give chase. However, they got gunned down by the second gun-toting torso of Duon, even as they leapt through the air with their maws open.

Due to the devastating efforts of the generals, massive swathes were cut from Kaos' army, enabling the Subspace units to break through their defenses, resulting in patches of frenzied fighting throughout the battlefield. Duon and Galleom eventually broke through the back of Kaos' army lines, looking up at his floating castle.

Kaos: So, you wish to do battle with the great and powerful Kaos? Very well.

His castle floated down and turned itself upside down so that the bottom of the castle was in line with the floating island, revealing Kaos sitting upon his throne.

Kaos: Come then!

Duon and Galleom bellowed and jumped onto the upside bottom of the castle, the two charging towards Kaos. Before they could get to him however, he summoned his Evil Missile Minion, who summoned a barricade of mushrooms before him and his master, protecting them from the punch and slash the respective generals dealt with. They were then forced to dodge backwards when Kaos summoned his Evil Eruptor minion to spew out a puddle of lava at them. The two generals split from each other before being surrounded by more minions summoned by Kaos; the Evil Knight Minion and the Evil Amphibious Gillman against Duon and the Evil Ent Minion, Evil Yeti Minion and Evil Pyro Archer against Galleom.

Galleom bellowed and charged at his opponents, the Ent and Yeti rushing forward to meet him, each one catching his fists and halting his charge. This left his back open for the Pyro Archer to rain down fiery arrows onto his back. Galleom roared in anger and reared up, his chest opened and missiles flew out of it towards the Archer, firing it to dash away. Galleom was then able to pull his hands out of the grasps of the minions and punch both away, first the Yeti then the Ent. As soon as he had punched away the Ent however, the Yeti was on him against, raining down a series of blows against his head. Galleom swatted him away but then got the Ent's wooden hammer hands crashing down onto the top of his head. Galleom let out a third bellow before lifting his arms up and slamming his fists into the ground, producing a shockwave that sent the two minions flying upwards.

The Dark Knight Minion meanwhile was dueling with Duon's sword wielding torso, their respective blades clashing together before Duon swung his bladed head down at him, prompting the Knight to raise his shield to block it. Meanwhile, the other torso battled the Gillman, shooting the harpoons he fired at him out of the air. Having enough of being sandwiched between two opponents, Duon's two torsos straightened back up and he began to spin around, creating a vacuum which drew in the two minions he was fighting, damaging them before they were hurled away as the spinning came to a stop.

Duon was about to continue his attacks on them when a shadow fell over him. The two torsos looked up to see Kaos' throne hovering above them, before it slammed down, smashing it to pieces. He then fixed his gaze on Galleom, who was still attempting to deal away with the minions fighting him, before Kaos raised his hand and commanded;

Kaos: Come my Hydra!

The four headed dragon rose up behind Kaos and roared, the Undead head summoning a moving grid of lasers around Galleom. Before he could react, the lasers moved and sliced through his body from multiple angles. The spliced body of Galleom then collapsed into a smoldering heap.

Kaos: Hahahahahaha! What can possibly stand against me!

A shadow suddenly fell over him. He looked up with a surprised grunt to see a Subspace Bomb hurtling through the air towards his castle. The two ROBs clinging to its side activated the bomb just as it was about to directly hit the floating fortress. A flash of light, and it was gone, nothing but a blank gap in space left behind.

The castle did reappear, but not in Skylands, but instead in a vast darkly colored void; Subspace.

Kaos: What is this? This looks like a terrible place to rule.

A low deafening chuckle met his statement and Kaos saw a massive white-gloved hand floating towards him through the void; the Master Hand. This drew the attention of the evil Skylander Minions, who charged across the surface of the castle at the new opponent, the Pyro Archer already firing his arrows. The Master Hand merely snapped its fingers once and a shockwave echoed out from it, sending all the minion to fly out into the Subspace where they blasted out of existence.

Kaos: Oh I see how it is. You've decided to steal my gimmick. Because I've already trademarked a giant floating head!

With that, Kaos leapt from his throne, landed on the ground and conjured around him his giant head guise, charging towards the Master Hand with a roar, only for said giant head to get flicked by the Master Hand right between the eyes, sending it skidding backwards. Kaos blinked away the daze brought on by the strike, glowered and fired his eye beams, prompting the Master Hand to raise its palm up to guard against the lasers, deflecting them away as it powered against the stream to get closer to Kaos, delivering a double slap to the giant head. The head snarled and unleashed a sonic blast that blasted back the Master Hand. It was able to right itself before pointing itself forward and barreling towards Kaos, who was able to dodge his giant head to the side of the charge, and then a couple more times as the Master Hand charged again from multiple other angles. Eventually, it ended up back in front of Kaos and went for a recreation of its first charge.

Kaos: Hydra!

At the call, all four of the Hydra's heads shot forward, clamping down on Master Hand's thumb, ring, index and pinkie fingers, and pinning it down. This left it open for Kaos to blast it with a combination of his sonic shout and eye lasers, leaving it burned, battered and unmoving. Yelling in triumph, Kaos dispelled his giant head and stood on top of the motionless Master Hand.

Kaos: Ha! When it comes to giant body parts, I'm the one and only master!

His Hydra roared in agreement, right before a form slashed through their necks, severing all four heads mid-roar. The body parts of the Hydra fell down through Subspace.

Kaos: No! My precious Hydra! Who did this?

The answer came when the item that sliced through the Hydra's necks, a giant shark-shaped blade zoomed into the air in front of Kaos and transformed into the ruler of Subspace, Tabuu.

Kaos: So, you are the fool who dared challenge me.

Tabuu:...

Kaos: Think you can psyche me out with the silent treatment. Well the great and powerful Kaos doesn't waver to any challenge. Have at you!

He lunged towards Tabuu, his hands cackling with energy, but he simply slammed into Tabuu's shield, sending him tumbling backwards. Tabuu then converted his arm into a blade and swooped down towards Kaos with the Diving Slash. Kaos rolled backwards onto his feet before the blade could impale him and he conjured up a fire symbol below Tabuu, spewing out a barrage of fireballs that bombarded him at the close range. Kaos grinned at his success but Tabuu suddenly teleported behind him, firing from his hand his Bullet Rain. The first couple of projectiles struck Kaos in the back, buffeting him with the force of a blizzard, until he was able to grit his teeth and turn around to place down a life elemental marker, growing a barrier of foliage to block the bullets. However, the barrier was blown apart by the energy orb that topped off the Bullet Rain, sending Kaos flying back through the air. He was able to flip himself about to land on his feet before summoning above his head bow constructs, firing out arrows at Tabuu, who teleported each time to avoid the shots whenever they were fired off. Kaos growled and summoned two fist constructs in place of the bows and instead fired them off to try and catch Tabuu with these. In spite of the explosion that followed from the fists smashing into the surface of the castle, Tabuu teleported out of this once again unharmed, but didn't escape when Kaos caught him with a swipe from his conjured up swords, delivering a series of slashes to the Subspace Ruler that eventually sent him flying backwards with a stab to the chest. Tabuu, however, kept his arms folded throughout this, even after being pushed backwards, and calmly looked up to see a Doomlander, summoned by Kaos, charging towards him. It swiped with its weapon down at him, but Tabuu's entire body transformed into the Golden Brackets, the Doomlander's weapon passing harmlessly through the gap between the two parts of it before it got ensnared by the Bracket, getting lifted up and slammed into the ground with enough force to dispel it. Tabuu turned back to normal in time for several elemental markers to be generated by Kaos about him. Kaos grinned before snapping his fingers, giving the command for each of the markers to unleash their respective attacks, blanketing Tabuu in a combined explosion of ghostly mist, an electric explosion and a shockwave of earth. When the explosion faded, however, Tabuu was still in his crossed-arms pose, before he performed his Ghost Projection to send out numerous copies of himself. Some of them exploded on the surface of the castle, forcing Kaos to dodge backwards to avoid getting hit by them, nearly backing to the edge of the platform. Seeing himself run out of space, Kaos placed his hands on the ground and summoned a tidal wave of Doom Sharks straight towards Tabuu. Tabuu calmly pointed his hand forward and cocked it backwards like he was firing a gun, generating Pinpoint Explosions that blew a path through the wave of sharks and all the way towards Kaos; his eyes widened before an explosion erupted directly in front of him, sending him tumbling off the side of the castle.

Tabuu teleported forward to the edge, looking over it to see what became of Kaos. He got his answer when Kaos, in his Doom Jet, zoomed up the rear of the castle and towards Tabuu, slamming into him with the Doom Jet's charge attack. The ruler of Subspace was pinned to the fender of the vehicle until Kaos fired an energy orb from its front, blasting Tabuu backwards with the sphere until it exploded, further propelling Tabuu until he righted himself in the air of Subspace.

Kaos: Now you shall know the wrath of Kaos and his Doom Jet!

The Doom Jet charged towards Tabuu, covering itself in dark energy as it did in a second charge. As soon as he got close, however, Tabuu explosively teleported, sending the Doom Jet serving.

Kaos: Hey!

Suddenly, the Chains of Light latched onto the back of the Doom Jet, and with a tug, Tabuu yanked it upwards and down onto the castle's upturned underside, with the shrieking Kaos still inside.

CRASH

Kaos pulled himself from the wreckage of the Doom Jet, groaning in pain, before seeing Tabuu generate his Dragon Cannon above him, narrowly dodging as it fired, blowing a hole straight through his castle, exposing the inner corridors and rooms, from one of which Glumshanks poked his head out.

Glumshanks: I'll...get my toolkit shall I Lord Kaos?

Kaos: Quiet! I'm in the middle of some-THING!

He yelled suddenly as the damage caused his castle to collapse into two pieces, he himself falling into the exposed rooms of one side of the split castle. Tabuu watched impassively as the castle fell into a platform floating in the abyss summoned by him so he could salvage it for his maze.

But suddenly, a blast of purple energy came from the wrecked castle and it burst apart to reveal Super Evil Kaos, now looming in front of Tabuu by standing on the Subspace platform

Super Evil Kaos: And that's why you never leave home without an Evilizer!

He swiped his hand and grabbed a hold of Tabuu.

Super Evil Kaos: Or without a snack either!

He stuffed Tabuu into his mouth and set about chewing him. But then his eyes widened and he was forced to spit Tabuu out, revealing he had utilized his Electric Shield. Righting himself in the air after being spat out, Tabuu darted at Kaos and grew himself to the same size of his Evilized form, delivering an uppercut into Kaos' chin as he did. Kaos stumbled back before re-balancing himself with a leer and swinging his own punch into Tabuu's face, before grabbing a hold of the back of his head. Holding a finger to his own forehead, Kaos used his enhanced imagination to summon a fleet of floating Glumshank tanks to hurl Tabuu in the direction of. The tiny vehicles exploded against Tabuu's front but he then Tabuu, generating an orb of energy in his hand and slamming it into Kaos' head. Recovering from the staggering Kaos then clapped his hands together, sending out a purple shockwave forward that pushed Tabuu back several steps. Tabuu's eyes then glowed red as he prepared to fire his eyes lasers whilst Kaos thrust both his hands forward to fire out an energy stream. Tabuu's and Kaos' two attack collided together, struggling to overpower the other before the struggling energies resulting in a massive explosion that engulfed the two fighters.

As the flash subsided, the Subspace platform was revealed to have been littered with fragments of inert Petrified Darkness from Super Evil Kaos' destruction. Kaos himself, now back to normal, pulled himself from underneath the rubble as Tabuu hovered before him, still with his arms crossed.

Kaos: I have to hand it to you; I didn't anyone but those Sky-losers could make me this mad.

Kaos got back to his feet and his body pulsed with ethereal energy.

Kaos: And because of that I declare you DOOMED!

With that, he transformed into his Traptanium form, letting out a bellow as he did. Tabuu simply observed this new enemy and converted his arm into a blade once again; he charged forward as Kaos did the same, summoning a blade from his arm at the same time. The two of them collided, sending out a shockwave through Subspace. To break the blade lock the two had entered, Kaos sprouted another sword and stabbed it out at Tabuu, making him teleport backwards to avoid the attack. Next, Kaos sprouted a pair of large black wings and summoned a series of addition swords, having them slash Tabuu at speeds faster than the eye could track. Tabuu was left with no time to try and teleport to safety due to the intensity of the attacks. Kaos was then suddenly in front of Tabuu and he unleashed a wave of energy out from himself, blasting Tabuu and sending him flying backwards. As soon as Tabuu had righted himself, Kaos bombarded him with a series of elemental projectiles. In spite of the intensity of the attack, Tabuu was able to summon his his hand his Shuriken Blade and hurl it towards Kaos. Kaos smirked and dashed again, causing the Shuriken to miss him completely; although this meant the elemental bullet barrage ceased, Kaos made up for him by colliding with Tabuu, running him through with one of his blades and pinning him to the platform.

Kaos: Here is your doom!

He poised the other blade for a strike, but failed to notice the Shuriken curving backwards through the air until it had nailed him in the back. Kaos let out a scream of pain before Tabuu grabbed a hold of the sword piercing him; with a clench of his hand, he snapped it in two. Kaos darted backwards in shock as Tabuu hovered himself back up to face him, leaving the blade still lodged in the ground. Kaos snarled and went for another stab, but Tabuu dodged the stab and thrust out the flat of his hand to smash this blade to pieces as well. Kaos squawked in surprise before Tabuu lunged forward, grabbed one of his wings and tore it off, before doing the same to the other one. Kaos backed away, weakened from the four things being torn from him, but Tabuu closed in on him and delivered the Rapid Chop to his face, beating the Portal Master's face to a pulp which capped off with a backhand that sent Kaos skidding face-first on the platform, coming to a stop near the very end. Groaning, he pushed himself up and turned around to see Tabuu closing in one him.

Kaos: Well, I may have bitten off more than I can chew here...best amscray.

Using the power of the Traptanium form, Kaos concentrated on ripping a hole from Subspace back to Skylanders. Eventually, he was nearly able to, and he lunged himself forward towards the hole. However, Tabuu's Chain of Light harpooned his back and pulled him backwards into Subspace, smashing him onto the platform. This proved the final straw for Kaos' Traptanium form, and it dispelled. Panting and bruised, Kaos looked up in anger as Tabuu hovered over him.

Kaos: Fine. You want me? You got me!

He conjured his giant head about himself and fired out his laser beams at Tabuu. It proved to be a moot point, as Tabuu unfurled his wings and unleashed the Off-Waves, blowing away Kaos' eyes beams and sweeping over Kaos, blinding him with his own involuntary transformation.

When the light faded, Kaos looked about in confusion.

Kaos: Hey...what the...

First, he realized he could only move his pupils. Then he realized he couldn't move anything, because now he was trapped in the form of a trophy, and being held in the grasp of a giant Tabuu.

Kaos: Aw...nuts.

Tabuu closed his fingers over Kaos' helpless trophy, crushing it into nothing but powder, letting it trickle into the void of Subspace.

KO!

Subspace Bombs teleport the island back in Skylands into Subspace and Tabuu sets about adding it into his maze.

Outcome[]

Boomstick: Yikes! Well at least the Skylanders will have an easier job.

Wiz: Or will they, considering we have one of their members up against Triborg in our DBX fanon series. Check it out when it's finished in the next week.

Boomstick: But enough self-promotion, onto the results.

Wiz: Agreed. In spite of his childishness, Kaos was still an incredible foe, especially considering his track record of threatening worlds. However, the type of threat Tabuu posed utterly dwarfed the Dark Portal Master. Before we get onto that though, there's something else we need first discuss.

Boomstick: Like how on Earth, or Skylands, Tabuu could even directly fight Kaos in the first place? I mean that guy's trapped in Subspace all of the time.

Wiz: This was the entire purpose of the Subspace Bombs; with them, Tabuu could bring anything he wanted into Subspace, and he had an entire army at his call to utilize them. He could easily have structured a plot to bring Kaos into his clutches, considering what a skilled tactical planner he is.

Popup: It’s unknown if Kaos’ Traptanium form could allow him to get from Subspace back to Skylands, and even then a master manipulator like Tabuu could play to his arrogance and anger to keep him in his realm, or simply defeat him before he could get the opportunity.

Boomstick: Once in Subspace, Kaos would find himself up against Tabuu's roster of superior abilities, like his speed.

Wiz: Although Kaos could react fast enough to pilot vehicles at 1500 times the speed of light, Tabuu scales to Kirby who piloted the Warp Star. This makes Tabuu 130 trillion times faster than Kaos.

Popup: Although Kaos used a portal to travel from Earth to Skylands and could possibly do so to escape from Subspace, it is to dangerous for a Portal Master to use their own Portals and is likely he could only perform the journey from Earth to Skylands as they are connected in the same universe, whilst the Subspace is an alternate dimension. Also, it is not a combat applicable feat.

Boomstick: Tabuu was also way more powerful than Kaos; Kaos can hurt Skylanders who survived heat worth 1.7 quadrillion tons of TNT, but Tabuu can hurt Smashers who can survive 20 octillion tons of TNT from a black hole (Efficiente).

Wiz: That's enough power to destroy a small star. Speaking of which, both groups, Skylanders and Brawlers, are capable of harming each other with their own strength as well, or at least copies, clones or dark counterparts of themselves or one another. This would make Tabuu 11 trillion times more powerful and tougher than Kaos.

Boomstick: Even if we acknowledged that both potentially had universe level feats of power, Kaos needs the Doom Jet and the Rift Engine inside of it to reach that level, whilst Tabuu has it all of the time given he can defeat the Master Hand one-on-one.

Wiz: So be it with universe level power or straight up muscle, Tabuu would still come out in front of Kaos in those regards. And finally, Tabuu simply had the options to end the fight, honestly, whenever he wanted, the Off Waves being the most famous example.

Popup: Even though Kaos can reanimate himself after being turned into a toy, it appears he cannot do so instantly, so the effects of the Off-Wave would still equal an instant defeat.

Boomstick: Kaos was a powerful Portal Master when he wanted to be, but Tabuu was stronger, faster and the better tactician.

Wiz: And thinking about it, whenever the Skylanders where banished into the forms of toys, Kaos and the other villains needed special circumstances to pull something like that off, whilst Tabuu can turn his foes into Trophies whenever he wanted.

Boomstick: Between Tabuu and me, it was a pretty Kaotic battle overall.

Wiz: The winner is Tabuu.

Trivia[]

  • Connections: Both are video game antagonists who have been known to imprison their foes within toy forms in order to conqueror a large number of different worlds with massive armies of various beings and their names are respellings of other words which have negative connotations (Kaos is chaos and Tabuu is taboo). Both have also battled against characters from other series (the Nintendo characters for Tabuu and Spyro characters for Kaos) and other versions of the same characters; Donkey Kong and Bowser. Both also lack hair, have had and used wings (Kaos when transformed by the Ultimate Weapon and Tabuu with his Off-Waves) and have captured sections of other worlds (Kaos used the Ultimate Weapon to trap floating islands whilst Tabuu brought pieces of the World of Trophies into Subspace). Both have also ended up as allies to their foes (Kaos via Traptanium and through a rebellious clone of himself, whilst Tabuu is a Spirit in Ultimate). However, whilst Kaos is very loud and brash, Tabuu is incredibly stoic and barely emotes.
  • Animation Style: 3D.
  • OST Idea: 'Dimensions of Doom', referring to Tabuu's Subspace and Kaos' well known usage of the word doom.
