Death Battle Fanon Wiki

You can keep the lightsaber you stole, let it become just another dusty souvenir, or you can give it back and come with us—come with me, and be trained in the ways of the Force. You can learn what it truly means to be a Jedi.

History[]

Background[]

As a child, Caleb Dume, as he was orginally known, was trained by Depa Bilaba, whom the Inquisitor remarked as being skilled at Form III at a "ridiculous level", until one day, when Order 66 struck, Caleb was forced to flee for his life when Depa was gunned down by the clones she fought with. He managed to survive Order 66 and was adopted by a runaway criminal known as Janus Kasmir, who eventually trained him to be a scoundrel like he is. Eventually, Kanan took the profession to hide his Jedi identity, even meeting up with runaway Hera Syndulla. Together, both founded the rebel cell Spectre composed of force-sensitive orphan Ezra Bridger (who later became his apprentice), disgraced honor guard captain Zeb Orrelios, and Mandalorian demolitonist Sabine Wren and clunky, but reliable droid Chopper. There, they performed numerous acts against the tyrannical Galactic Empire, though not without struggle. Kanan lost his eyesight when Maul betrayed Spectre, but managed to maintain relations with the rising Rebel Alliance with Hera's help. Carrying out daring missions to liberate Lothal from Imperial rule against their most dangerous adversary, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Kanan died in his last mission with the Spectres.

However, he had sired a son named Jacen Syndulla, with Hera, posthomously, but Kanan would never live to see his child.
