History[]
As a close friend of Kitana, Jade grew up with her in Edenia. Both had trained together and fought together as friends. When Shao Kahn took over, Jade worked for him as amongst his deadliest assassins, killing any of his opponents and eliminating leaders willing enough to oppose his rule. In a retconned continuity, Jade serves as a compatriot to Kitana, fighting alongside her in many missions Shao Kahn had sent them both.
At one time, she grew a romantic interest of Osh-Tekk warrior Kotal back when he served as General of Outworld's army. Although she loved Kotal, she doesn't hesitate to put him down if his hatred overrides his judgement, hoping one day that Kotal would see reason when he had lived through hatred and destruction. Unquestioningly loyal to Kitana, Jade serves as her second in command when she became Kahn, always standing by her side even at the edge of time.
