History[]
Jack was born a bit after the industrial revolution in London from his his prostitute mom, Mary, and a client she fell in love with, Jack Smith. Most if not all of his childhood was spent looking around for scraps, and he'd regularly be beat by people around him for trying to take scraps, exposing him from a very young age to the dark side of humanity, the only things he had were his mom and his books, which was mainly Shakespeare.
One day he found his mother crying, and it was revealed by Anne (another prostitute) that Jack Smith, his father, had married a noblewoman, Mary was devastated because she believed his promise that he'd come back once he got famous, when Jack tried to comfort his mother, she lashed out and revealed her true colors, saying she should've aborted him like she had his 5 unborn older half siblings, making Jack realize he was nothing more then a tool, and the love he saw from his mother was never directed towards him.
Mary began destroying books and venting her anger out at him when he began to choke her, and he saw a color he had never seen before, that of fear. He saw that fear could push out any other emotion, and thought it was the most beautiful thing in the world, before he stabbed and killed Mary, later in the night, finding and killing Jack Smith, and stealing his hat.
In the fall of 1888, serial murders began to take place in London, with the Central News Agency receiving a package from Jack the Ripper, meanwhile Jack would be reading about the crimes in a diner, and hunting for The Ripper himself, when he saw something that caught his eye, a journalist named Luke Evans, he was drawn to Luke because of Jack's emotion-seeing right eye.
After stealthily following Luke, Jack had uncovered the truth, Luke was The Ripper, but before Luke could kill a papergirl for his ritual murder, Jack would announce his presence by quoting Shakespeare, before quickly overwhelming Luke and killing him, returning the papergirl to a safe location and giving her a large amount of money for her troubles, before he set Luke's flat on fire, destroying any evidence of his madness, Jack would take on being The Ripper for unknown reasons.
Later, Jack the Ripper was chosen for Ragnarok, representing humanity, and eventually was chosen for round 4 against Hercules, before round 4 started, he forced Hlokk into Volundr, where she'd become his gloves, and naturally he requested the arena be built off 19th century London, to which Hercules agreed, only to be offended his opponent was just a serial killer, and tried to make Jack forfeit, to which Jack refused, pulling his giant scissors, saying they were his völundr, but before Hercules could attack, Jack ran off, angering Hercules.
Jack would try to offer tea to Hercules, who refused, Jack then sprung a trap on him, annoying Hercules, but Jack took the time to try to escape with his grappling hook, Hercules went after and smashed the scissors, Jack then began to throw knives, which managed to pierce the skin of Hercules, surprising him. Jack would then reveal his volundr was actually a divine bag (or rather, 2 divine pouches), before he kept up his onslaught, Hercules was deflecting them all, before he was forced to use the first labor, after Jack had deflected a club strike using his umbrella. Jack would escape the blow itself, but still got caught in the shockwave, slamming him to a wall and dislocating his shoulder, Jack promptly called it amazing, then fixed his shoulder without issue.
Jack would then use piano wires to jump up into the air, throwing knives into the air and using the wires to attack from all angles, he forced Hercules into the sixth labor to blow them away, and back at Jack, who only took a hit to the leg, and the knives destroyed his monocle. Jack then explained how he could see emotions, and how fear was the best, he was determined to make Hercules fearful before Hercules died, before using his grappling hook to escape onto Big Ben. Big Ben would give way though thanks to Hercules, so Jack threw the clock face at Hercules, who was confused why he did that and tried blocking, only for his arm to be cut off by the clock face, and Hercules found out his true Völundr.
Jack then explains that everything he touched becomes a divine weapon, capable of slaying gods, applauding Hercules that he could see pride and anger, but not fear, further explaining he lives to see his victims die with only fear. Hercules would say he's lost then, before saying he'd stop Jack's suffering, as Jack saw love from Hercules, Hercules would unleash the twelfth labor.
After the twelfth labor, a powered up Hercules would attack, Jack would try grappling away but Hercules smashed him down into an iron fence, after recovering, Jack used his cloak to perform Rondo of Blessing, an attack where Jack would slice an entire building with his cloak, then as it came crashing down on him and Hercules, he'd jump off Hercules to get through a window, completely unscathed. seeing Hercules come out, he confirmed his mothers love to be fake, saying he didn't know true love could be so beautiful, before drawing a smile on his face with blood, saying he wants to dye Hercules his favorite color.
Hercules destroyed weapons and sent Jack flying, who got back up after a couple more unsuccessful attacks, singing London Bridge and imagining himself having a happy childhood as he approached Hercules, who complimented his willpower, before Hercules knocked him down again, as Jack was falling, he quickly moved in, stabbing Hercules with his hands, covered in his blood, which he made a divine treasure, the blood he got from being impaled earlier, he had it all planned out, and now he had it finished, with a move Jack decided to name Dear God.
After this, we don't see much of Jack, he's confused and a bit sad after the Hercules fight, the next time we see him, he stops Ebisu from attacking Goll, and after that we only see him watching the future matches with Hlokk.
Death Battle Info[]
Background[]
- Name: Jack Smith
- Aliases: Jack the Ripper, Mr. Anonymous, "Artist of Death"
- Height: Unknown
- Weight: Unknown
- Age: Unknown, but at least 130 years old
Powers and Abilities[]
- Golden Age: As a soul in Valhalla, he always remains his peak age, no matter what.
- Red Eye: His heterochromia isn't just for show (for once in an anime), the red eye he has can see people's emotions, and even see killing intent before someone strikes, naturally this also means he only has to double tap if needed, since if they still have an aura, they're still alive, if there's no aura, they're dead, deems fear and love (purple and gold respectively) the most beautiful colors.
- Stealth Mastery: As a sentinel, he's basically an anbu member, he managed to enter a mans house and steal weapons before people would notice.
- Highly Athletic: He's able to do stuff such as flips mid-fight.
- Semi-Body Control: Learned how to manipulate the joints in his arms to increase his range, and knows how to manipulate his internal organs to avoid what would be fatal blows.
- Rondo of Blessing: A move where Jack cuts a building with his cloak, then as it's falling on him and his opponent, he springboards off his opponent through an open window, escaping unscathed.
- Dear God: A move where Jack uses his own blood as a divine weapon, and stabs both his hands through his opponents chest.
Equipment[]
- Divine Gloves: A pair of gloves Jack wields, they can turn anything they touch into a divine weapon, capable of hurting and killing gods, his true Volundr
- Divine Bag: A divine treasure, capable of creating any divine weapon Jack wants, as long as it fits in the bag, the second thing Jack tricks Hercules into thinking is his Volundr.
- Giant Scissors: A divine weapon, a giant pair of extremely sharp scissors the size of a human, the first thing Jack tricks Hercules into thinking is his Volundr.
- Piano Wires: Wires Jack put up throughout the arena, used to increase his mobility as he jumped across them. so thin they're almost invisible, he used in tandem with this next item, by holding one end of the wires, and using them like slingshots.
- Throwing Knives: Jack's main weapons, throwing knives he made from his divine bag, the knives themselves are a divine weapon, capable of piercing the flesh of gods, he used them with the piano wires to increase the speed and change the angle of the knives.
- Grappling Hook: Another way Jack increased his mobility, it's...well yeah it's a grappling hook, I don't think I have to explain more.
- Umbrella: It's just an umbrella that's a divine weapon, we never see it used for attacks, but Jack spins it fast enough to deflect one of Hercules's.
Feats[]
- Outsmarted and killed Hercules, who is considered to be one of the strongest gods.
- Genius strategist, manipulated the fight in his favor, and when his plans didn't come to fruition, had a backup.
- Was able to pierce through Hercules with his hands while injured, because he turned his own blood to a divine treasure thanks to his gloves.
- Won a hand to hand fight with Hercules, the physically strongest of all the gods besides Zeus himself.
- Because he was able to engage Hercules hand to hand, his speed is at least FTL.
- Has planet level durability, since he was able to tank multiple of Hercules's hits.
- Superhuman stamina, since he fought and killed Hercules while on the brink of death, and while barely conscious.
- Has very high range and mobility thanks to a combination of his knives, grappling hook, and piano wire
- Skewered himself on an iron fence and got up, then ripper the fence straight out of himself
Faults[]
- Doesn't have many lifting strength feats, at best he's peak human thanks to his giant scissors
- His strategies... may involve him hurting or nearly killing himself, like when he got himself skewered on an iron fence
- Piano wires only work if there's two spots to put the ends, so open fields kinda suck for him
