Teenage heroes with hearts of gold and feet of steel! The second fanon Death Battle by Salty Gibus, this battle features Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia and Sonic the Hedgehog from the Sonic the Hedgehog movie duology. Will only focus on primary material, so no MHA SMASH!!! or IDW Comic/Cameo Games. Spoilers for both the MHA manga and the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie will be inbound.

Description

My Hero Academia vs Sonic the Hedgehog! Great power always comes with responsibility, and these two combatants know that lesson the best. Taking the world on their shoulders as bearers of the strongest forces in their world, which one of these electrifying heroes will come out on top and prove they can save their planet from ability-stealing forces?

Interlude

Wiz: With great power, comes great responsibility.

Boomstick: That's not just a personal thing either, it's just the cost of being able to move so fast that you're a blur to the world.

Wiz: Like Izuku Midoriya, the 9th bearer of One for All from My Hero Academia.

Boomstick: And Sonic the Hedgehog, the blue devil from the Sonic the Hedgehog movies.

Wiz: I'm Wiz and he's Boomstick, and we're here to analyze their weapons, armors, and skills to find out who would win...a Death Battle.

Izuku Midoriya gives his One For All in DEATH BATTLE!

Wiz: In a world where everyone has a super power, what would you be if you didn't have a single ability to call your own? That's a question that plagues the existence of one Izuku Midoriya.

Boomstick: Yeah, this kid's got it rough. Outta the 20% of people without a power, he just kinda had to deal with being the only kid without some sorta power like wings or being able to freaking make explosions from your hands!

Wiz: But even the constant ridicule and bullying couldn't stop Midoriya from trying to accomplish his dream, one that was honestly not all that uncommon in their society: Become a Pro Hero.

Boomstick: Which is basically being Superman, but as a job.

Wiz: Though I have no idea how he would have done it. Sure he's intelligent, but he hasn't trained much for such a near impossible task. Even being able to break down how a Quirk works down to it's finest detail wouldn't help if you don't have the strength to back it up.

Boomstick: Izuku would catch a break though, when none other than Mr.America-Japan-Guy himself All Might showed up one day to offer Izuku the chance of a lifetime!

Wiz: That would be inheriting the 2nd oldest Quirk in existence, the counter to an ancient evil known as All For One. One for All.

Boomstick: After having to eat All Might's hair. Honestly, not the worst thing he could've transferred it through.

Wiz: One For All is a Quirk that's passed through generations, growing stronger through it's lifespan and accumulating just about everything from their previous user.

Boomstick: That mostly meant power for Izuku here, giving him the strength to punch THIS giant as hell robot so hard it crumpled in on itself in a single strike! And to think, all he had to do was clench his buttcheeks and scream really, REALLY loud.

Wiz: Accounting for the size of the Zero Pointer in reference to the buildings surrounding it, this punch should be able to generate enough force to destroy a city block.

Boomstick: Talk about power! Hell, scaling to All Might and Gigantomachia, Izuku here can blow up MOUNTAINS with a single punch! Talk about overkill, you sure this guy's supposed to be a glorified cop?

Wiz: There is an issue with using One for All, however. Thanks to how much power it wields, the backlash is immense--capable of completely breaking the bones in someone's body upon using it.

Boomstick: ...oh. So just a one and done deal, gotcha.

Wiz: Luckily, Izuku has managed to get past this issue with the use of a technique called 'One For All: Full Cowling'.

Boomstick: Also known as becoming a freaking lightning rod of energy!

Wiz: Channeling the Quirk at a low percentage through his body, Midoriya can enhance all of his physical and mental traits immensely. At 5%, he can dodge bullets from a gun--

Boomstick: An Assault Rifle to be precise. These babies can fire at 3,251 feet per SECOND, so you know you're fast when you can dodge 'em without much issue. Hell, Izuku was running TOWARDS the guy shooting at him while doing this too, so he definitely was confident in his speed.

Wiz: At 20%, Izuku can even dodge direct fire from Nine, who was using laser-like projectiles--though it's uncertain that those were actual lasers, they were still extremely fast. At this point, Izuku can hold up to 45% of One for All up to his body while in Full Cowling for reference.

Boomstick: He can channel these powers in moves by ripping off the last holder of One for All, including a simple punch called the Detroit Smash and a finger-flick called the Delaware Smash.

Wiz: Izuku has also been shown to have two alternate fighting styles besides his basic brawler style: Air Force, which involves more use of the Delaware Smash, and Shoot Style, a more speed-based style which focuses on his legs as his main means of damage.

Boomstick: He's also got some gear to help these styles, being the Support Gloves and Iron Soles. The former make his Delaware Smash shockwaves more accurate, while the other absorbs and relaunches the impact of any kick he hits with as a second attack! Kinda lame name though. If I had those, I'd call 'em the Gun Glove and the Ass-Kicking Boots.

Wiz: And that, is why you don't have them. Either way, Izuku also has two gauntlets that allow him to use One for All at less risk to himself known as the Half-Gauntlets. Of course, the strength enhancer isn't the only thing that the Quirk has in store for him, as it had reached Quirk Evolution within Midoriya and unlocked the rest of it's storage: the past users' Quirks.

Boomstick: Like the Blackwhip, a buncha tendrils that can whip Izuku around like Spider-Man. And Danger Sense, which...also lets him act like Spidey, just with the Spider Sense. Hey Wiz, you sure Izuku isn't some version of Japan Spiderman or something?

Wiz: Positive, Boomstick. He also has Fa-Jin, the ability to build up power through repeated motions, and Float, a Quirk that allows him to float through the air. And for more stealth-based abilities, he can create a thick smog through Smokescreen.

Boomstick: And before you even think of getting around these super-strong abilities with any mind hax, he's got the ghosts of the old users in his Quirk to repel those too.

Wiz: And when Izuku really needs to take down a target, he can unleash the full power of his Quirk for a limited time, known as Full Cowling: 100%.

• Scales above All Might in his prime due to the accumulation feature of One for All.

Boomstick: If you thought this kid couldn't get any more Shonen-y, Izuku can just straight up turn into a Super Saiyan! Seriously, why does his hair glow like that?

Wiz: Well, it's not like a Super Saiyan exactly...but it definitely could be confused for such when looking at the My Hero world. Izuku in this state can move faster than the human eye can even track, launch building-sized monsters into the clouds with a single kick, and even break through previously unbreakable barriers like Flect Turn's own Quirk, Reflect.

Boomstick: Basically, if you see Izuku's hair goin' all SSJ Blue, you're kinda fucked.

Wiz: Of course, the backlash of One for All does still affect the user in this state, although Izuku has managed to combine his Quirks to obtain a state much similar and without the backlash.

Boomstick: For all Izuku can do though, even he's got his share of weaknesses.

Weaknesses

Wiz: Izuku usually resorts to breaking his bones whenever he's in a pinch, meaning that he can't last too long in an even match.

Boomstick: He also pulls his punches way too much, allowing slower foes to read his moves before he can properly hit 'em.

Wiz: Along with the previous backlash of One for All, Izuku can not use all of the previous user's Quirks at once, meaning he needs time to figure out which of his Quirks to actually use in a fight.

Boomstick: Even with these flaws, Izuku's one tough motherf-er. He'll keep fighting no matter what to save everyone around him, and to prove that even a Deku can rise to the top.

"If I can't save the one small girl in front of me, then how can I become a hero that saves everyone?"

Sonic the Hedgehog speeds it up for DEATH BATTLE!

Wiz: On a planet not our own, three species lived in what some could consider harmony. Echidnas, Owls...and for a reason that escape me, a single blue hedgehog.

Boomstick: This 'hedgehog' is Sonic, the guy that we've seen all over Sega's games.

Wiz: Not exactly. See, much like the Sonic from the Archie series, this Sonic is a different character to the one we mostly know. Raised on an island with green hills and natural loops, he would live with his motherly figure Longclaw--

Boomstick: Until the Echidnas attacked! No seriously, the Echidnas ransacked their home after finding Sonic, forcing bird mom to take her son and flee.

Wiz: But even this was cut short, as an arrow struck the owl and forced her to use a ring to send Sonic to a new, safer world. She stayed back to protect his escape, but as we've seen later...she died taking out the last of the tribe that attacked her.

Boomstick: Oh...damn, that's actually pretty heavy. You sure this is supposed to be for kids?

Wiz: It gets worse before it gets better, as they say. Taking her words of not being found to heart, Sonic would spend his time on this new world, Earth, hiding from the people that resided in it.

Wiz: Living his new life in the town of Green Hills, Sonic was an outcast of his own making. Driven by loneliness and sorrow, it would all come to a head as his strange power once more flared up in the dead of night. This time, it caused a shockwave which took out all of the power in the Pacific Northwest. With our calculations, taking the size of the blast and the time it took to reach it's apex, this means that Sonic must have generated about 1,121,000,000,000 Joules of energy, or 268 tons of TNT for reference.

Boomstick: Holy shit! You'd think that the government would be keeping track of this guy if he can do all that just by taking a few stress laps.

Wiz: In fact they did. As the government figured out that there was a source to the sudden coast-wide power outage, they decided to hire a man that could find and capture this source: Dr.Robotnik.

Boomstick: Also known as Jim Carrey, because who doesn't love famous people in their films?

Wiz: Uh...Boomstick, Jim Carrey is a professional actor.

Boomstick: Wait, seriously? Fuck, I wasted that joke on the wrong guy!

Wiz: Er, anyways, with the government on his tail, Sonic knew he had to move to a new world and fast. So he would try to use one of his Ring Portals to get out of there...

Boomstick: Only to come face-to-face with the dad of the family he was stalking for years and get shot with a tranquilizer! Hey Wiz, I thought Sonic was supposed to be fast.

Wiz: He most certainly is, but he his initial reflexes aren't as great as one would have you believe.

Boomstick: Eh, fair enough. Pretty sure i've had that same issue when I get just a bit too much of the good stuff.

Wiz: With his rings now stuck in San Francisco, Sonic and the man who accidentally shot him Tom Wachowski would have to go on a road trip that helpfully gave us a better glimpse at the hedgehog's potential speed. Early on, Sonic ran halfway across the continent before then crashing into the ocean and turning back to return to Tom's truck, all in just under 4 seconds. With the distance given, not accounting the crash due to us not seeing how long that took, Sonic must have been running at about 990,000 miles an hour.

Boomstick: You're talking about that being fast? This guy's so quick, everything around him looks like it's frozen when he gets even a little serious, even missiles!

Wiz: That is impressive for sure, as it also gives Sonic the power behind his signature technique: The Spin Attack. This move converts his speed into attack power through a rapid amount of spinning, allowing him to either fly through targets or bounce off of them.

Boomstick: So it's just a really strong ball attack. Big whoop. I can do that too, watch!

Insert sounds of Boomstick struggling to preform a single somersault

Wiz: Right...anyways, this technique has allowed him to destroy armored vehicles consistently, and with enough force, shoot Robotnik's flying mech which used Sonic's own quill far beyond into a mushroom planet.

Boomstick: Ugh, they always make it look easy! Anyways, to do that, he had to use an item that no other Sonic has access to on the fly: The Ring Portal. Y'know, those things you jump into to get Chaos Emeralds? Turns out they're legit portals that can fit in the palm of your hand!

Wiz: While he doesn't use them in combat all that much, when he DOES use them, they're used to surprising effect. From changing the battlefield to trapping the foe on another world, all he needs to do them is to simply think about where he wants it to lead, and then throw the ring.

Boomstick: Thing is, he's only got a limited supply of 'em. Luckily he doesn't use them too much though, instead preferring to take things head-on.

Wiz: And when something seems too tough to handle normally, or if Sonic just feels too emotionally wound up, he can use his full force with his Charged State. In this form, his power comes to the forefront, boosting all of his stats while giving him the ability to control his own bioelectric aura.

Boomstick: He can do this through returning energy from any stolen quills, or my personal favorite maneuver, the Thunderclap Attack, where he literally claps and sends the lightning on his body flying towards a target as a mini EMP! Man, this guy's perfect for destroying robots.

Wiz: This isn't even Sonic's full potential power, either. After collecting the 7 Chaos Emeralds or their combined state, the Master Emerald, he can tap into the power cultivated through ancients, the power that Longclaw protected with her life...Super Sonic.

Boomstick: That's right, even this Sonic can't help ripping off Dragon Ball! As Super Sonic, he can fly, run through giant robots like a knife through butter, and can even make people explode if they touch him!

Wiz: While the last part may just be hyperbole, it doesn't seem too far-fetched with what we've seen of Sonic already. He can hold back a giant robotic arm with a single hand without even looking--an arm that was previously empowered and created by the Master Emerald mind you, race around that same robot's head with enough speed and force to completely cut it off, and even was able to use the same creation power that Eggman had used with this power.

Boomstick: In other words? Super Sonic's freakin' strong! Hell, this one's even better, since it doesn't seem like he even has a time limit on this form.

Wiz: Even with these god-like powers, however, Sonic isn't always the best in a fight.

Weaknesses

Boomstick: Yeah...this Sonic's also a cocky son-of-a-gun in a fight, constantly getting in trouble cause he doesn't take fights seriously enough.

Wiz: He also lacks the experience that his other versions carry, having had to live off the land for years on end. Along with that, he also doesn't take damage too well.

Boomstick: Yeah, minor explosions can knock him out cold, and all it takes is a few good strikes to put him down for good.

Wiz: When all is said and done though, Sonic is still a force to be reckoned with. Finding a new family to call his own, he'll do anything to protect it--finding a courage that's helped him spark change all through his world. There's a reason you don't mess around with the Blue Devil.

"This is MY power. And i'm not using it to run away anymore. I'm using it to protect. My. Friends!"

Death Battle

Location: Japan, Unknown City

It was a dark night in Japan, with villains roaming the streets. One of these villains, a generic-looking guy with a claw-arm mutation, was stalking around one of the darker corners of a street. At least, trying to. Suddenly, a dark green blur would shoot out from above, knocking the previously unaware villain on his front! This blur would stop once they reached the ground, standing to full height to reveal that it was the not-yet Pro Hero Izuku Midoriya, also known as the hero Deku. His suit was dirty and torn, his eyes shadowed by his hood as he looked down to the downed, yet conscious criminal.

Starting to approach, the hero didn't have much time before he froze up, a lightning bolt of alertness flashing across his mind. Alerted by whatever this was, Deku would whirl around to find...a glowing ring? Yes, a giant golden ring was floating much like a portal, with a shadowed figure jumping through it. This figure would land on all fours, before raising back up to reveal...quite the creature. A short figure with blue fur, long, spike-like quills, a tan muzzle and belly, and wide, green eyes now stood confidently, revealing himself to be Sonic 'Wachowski' the Hedgehog.

Looking around for a moment, he would note "Man, Japan looks WAY brighter on TV." before turning his attention to Izuku. His eyes would widen upon making out the figure, nearly jumping back from fright. "WOAH! What kind of alien is THAT?" he would ask, before leaning forwards and squinting. As he tried to get a better look at the confused vigilante, a spike of recognition would flash through the green-eyed alien's eyes, perking up before claiming "Wait, no, I recognize you! You're that guy that took on Humarise on the news, right? 'Izuku Midoriya'?", pointing towards Izuku.

This seemed to surprise the green-wearing hero, before he straightened up. A conversation seemed to be going on within Izuku's mind, taking long enough that the blue-furred speedster's expression shifted to a more awkward look. "Uh...hello? You gonna say any-?" he asked, only for the Midoriya to suddenly cut him off. "Who's asking?" Deku asked, eye-holes squinting slightly in suspicion. This would cause the hedgehog to perk up once again, before giving a smirk and boisterously claiming "The name's Sonic, but you can call me..."

Quickly speeding onto a nearby trash can, the teenage alien would then strike what he personally thought was a cool and/or edgy pose before proclaiming "Blue Justice! Hero of just about anywhere, and..." Sonic would be interrupted by losing his balance on the trash can, flailing his arms out before letting out a yelp as he landed with a CRASH! Cutting back to Izuku, the ninth holder of One for All would have nearly no outwards reaction, even if inside, it was the the complete opposite.

'This guy doesn't seem like a Pro Hero.' he noted inwardly, interrupted from questioning the hedgehog's legitimacy further by a gloved hand reaching up in front of him, offered up as a fist bump. "As I was saying, I'm also the guy that's gonna help you with this whole villain thing." he noted, before enticingly shaking his fist a little. "C'mon, let's power bump on it!" he would request, though Deku decidedly did not accept the request. Instead, the hero would just look down at the technically illegal alien on two fronts, before glancing back to where he knocked down the real villain...who had escaped in the chaos of Sonic's introduction without the other realizing.

A sigh of annoyance left the Midoriya, before he then turned back and gently pushed the offered fist away. "I can do this on my own." he would claim, before turning away and starting to walk off. He didn't get very far though, as Sonic then just raced up to him and started to speak once more. "Don't try to give me that talk, we both know you aren't doing this thing alone! Trust me, working solo never works out. Just give me one chance, that's all I'll need!" he attempted to persuade Izuku, with the current vigilante starting to get more and more annoyed, until finally...

[Cue: Jet, Set, Speed Me Up]

"I can do this by MYSELF!" he would then shout, whipping an arm out. Black tendrils snaked out from his suit, causing the blue devil to get sent flying back from a Black Whip to the face. Spinning around, the hedgehog would manage to catch himself with a skidding stop. "Yeesh, I was just asking!" the persistent alien would cry back, before shifting his crouch into a runner's stance. "Well I'm not letting you keep doing this on your own! One way or another, you're gonna get some help! Or at least a bath!"

Both heroes would then light up with low-level lightning, with blue bolts flickering on Sonic's end and emerald streaks crackling on Izuku's own end. As the latter started to walk towards the former, the emerald lightning seemed to form eyes that bored into the hedgehog.

FIGHT!

Sonic started the fight as Izuku neared, suddenly darting towards him and unleashing a punch to his jaw! This would cause the rabbit-like hero to stagger back for a second as the blue devil waved his hand to shake off the pain from punching a metal guard. "OH--jeez that hurt! I didn't think that thing was actual metal!" he would complain, movement from the corner of his eye all that would alert him before he was swatted away from a Blackwhip to the face.

Flipping backwards, Sonic flailed through the air before catching himself with a lamp-post! Swinging around it for a moment, his feet found purchase with the top of it as he crouched down. "Okay, weird costume choices later, fight-time now." the alien reminded himself, before he picked up a sudden woosh of air sounding out. Turning his head, his eyes would widen for just a second before he leapt off towards another lamp post. Why did he react like this? Mostly because a sudden bolt of wind was flying towards his position, ripping the top half of the pole off on contact!

The source of this wind would be none other than Deku himself, his fingers still in the position of a Delaware Smash. One for All sparked to life once more around his fingers, allowing him to fire yet another blast of wind towards the hedgehog--which was also dodged just as fast. This would keep happening for a good bit, with Sonic growing more and more confident in his dodging as it continued. "Hey Izuku, I thought you were supposed to be good at aiming that!" he would tauningly cry, even flipping into a pose for one of these dodges.

The holder of One for All's eyes narrowed at the jab, before he got an idea. Swiftly, he would aim his hand just a little to the left, firing in-line with the hedgehog's path. Sonic only noticed as the blast caught him in the side, sending him spiralling for a moment before rolling onto the ground. Letting out a groan of pain, he would rise a moment later, a hand on his head. "N-nevermind, you got that point." he would mutter, before shaking off his daze and getting back into fighting position. "But don't think I'm letting you get out of this that easily!"

Speaking of which, Izuku was just about to leave the alleyway that the two of them were in. However, noticing that Sonic wasn't even close to giving up, the darker hero would simply sigh to himself in response. "You really want me to put people in danger just to make them fight my battle?" he would ask, before then raising his hand in a similar motion as before. "This is my burden. No one else's!" His middle finger and thumb charged up with One for All once again, the sparks magnifying before he shot yet another blast of wind. This time however, Sonic was ready with his own counter.

"I get that! But that doesn't mean you gotta deal with it alone!" the blue-quilled alien would shout back, before his quills charged with electric blue once more. Opening his arms out, he then clapped his hands outwards, an electric blue shockwave forming and striking the Delaware Smash out of the air! As the lightning barreled closer to Deku, the world around him seemed to shift into a black and white scale of itself--the lightning flying towards him mirroring the lightning of danger suddenly flashing into his mind.

KA-CRACK!

A dust cloud formed where Izuku once stood, causing Sonic to startle for a moment with worry. "Shoot--I didn't hurt him too much, did I?" he asked himself. Of course, there's no way this battle was gonna end so fast, as would be revealed by green lightning suddenly shooting from the smoke and two glowing green irises blazing behind the rapidly clearing smoke. With a growl of fury, Deku suddenly rushed out of the smoke, screaming out "YOU WOULDN'T GET THIS!" as he closed the distance. Before Sonic could respond, the green-wielding fighter would unleash punch after punch, his fists quickly becoming blurs of green and white.

"How could you understand!? I can't--I won't let another person get hurt in my place! This is MY power, my mission!" The Danger-Sense using hero would cry out, not noticing how Sonic was dodging and weaving every punch with a worried expression on his face. "I get that, seriously, I do! I've had to go through that my whole life, but people can help! Even if you think you don't need them, you couldn't be--URK!" he tried to explain, only to be caught off guard by a roundhouse kick to the cheek.

Flying back, the blue devil would manage to flip himself around, his shoes grinding against pavement as he managed to stop himself. Taking a step forwards once again, Deku would glare down at the blue blur with raw...something, within his eyes. "How can you say that, but not even be able to protect yourself? You're untrained, unable to fight back....how can you help me, when you can't help yourself?" he would ask, focused on the hedgehog before him. Speaking of which, Sonic was crouched down, a hand on the ground as he took a deep breath.

Glaring back up at Deku, he only had one thing to say in response. "You forgot one more: Unstoppable." was all that the blue-quilled hero said in turn, before then starting to...spin against the ground? Rubble from under would start to blast away as Sonic began to spin in place, cyan bolts racing across the hedgehog's body before he finally bolted towards Izuku! A bolt of danger suddenly struck by Deku's head, the tiniest of the masked hero's expression suddenly shifting before the blue blur collided.

As the dust whipped up by the dash settled, it would be revealed that Deku was holding back the hedgehog's spin with a single hand, both heroes' electricity colliding in flashes of blues and greens. "Nothing, is unstoppable." would be muttered out with a glare, before Izuku pulled back his arm. Green electricity covered it, red lines racing across the Midoriya's arm. "Detroit....SMASH!" would then be shouted, as the One for All user sent his other fist straight forwards towards the vulnerable ball.

...er, seemingly vulnerable ball.

Deku's fist would slow in it's path, though Sonic's ball wasn't slowing down nearly as much. No, it was slowing for a different reason, as Sonic uncurled and watched his now stock-still foe. Raising an eyebrow, the hedgehog would put a finger on his chin in thought before he turned his gaze towards the fist that was slowly, ever so slowly, crawling towards him. Casually walking out of the way, Sonic would examine the red veins that covered the Midroiya's arm. "Huh...definitely not healthy for your arm to be doing that." he'd take note, before casually pacing around Izuku's body before then crouching down.

Powering up energy, the Wachowski would then jump up above the strike--time resuming as a whole blast of wind suddenly surged across the alley. At first, Deku didn't even notice the disappearance, before he realized--what!? Why was Danger Sense suddenly flaring again? Before he could properly react, a balled up Sonic would suddenly collide with Izuku's head, causing him to stumble back and clutch his head. "Agh-how!?" he would start, momentarily stunned from the sheer shock of the hedgehog dodging his attack.

"Here's a little fact about me Izuku! I'm not just an incredibly handsome vigilante of justice, but i'm ALSO a natural at being the exception!" Sonic would claim as he landed, before then darting right back and delivering a front-flipping kick. This held enough power to actually send Izuku flying up, his mask flipped off his face as he regained his sense of balance. A snarl was on his features, tired eyes lit up only by his Quirk watching his opponent with a practiced hold. Landing back on the ground, Deku took ragged breaths--this battle was taking a bit more out of him than he expected.

As his opponent took a break, Sonic started to dash around the alley, whipping up recently disturbed dust that would reveal what exactly he was trying to form. That would a twister, one that would soon enough engulf Izuku in it's fast winds! Within the mini tornado, it was clear that the green-haired teen was trying to resist the pull of the wind, forced to dig two Black Whip tendrils into the ground to steady himself before doing what he did best: Analyzing.

'This guy's dodging all of my attacks! He's even faster than Iida--even Danger Sense is having a hard time keeping up with him. It's not like the blows he landed hurt too bad though...wait. That's it! I just thought that this guy's Quirk was an all-around enhancer, but it seems like it's just a combination of a Speed Quirk and an Electricity Manipulation Quirk! If I can just keep him distracted long enough, I might be able to set up something to stop him in his tracks for good.'

With this new plan in mind, Izuku would switch Quirks for a moment, causing the lightning around him to fade for a moment before a burst of smoke suddenly engulfed him! Caught up in the smoke, Sonic would wind up staggering slightly in his dash, shouting out "What the heck's this stuff!? If you think this is gonna stop me from running, then you got another thing-"...right before smashing into a pole he couldn't see due to the thick smog. That thoroughly distracted him long enough for Deku to leap out of the smoke, using One for All once more to enhance his jump.

Whipping an arm out, Black Whipe would fire into the ground that was now behind him, stretching out as Izuku increased his speed. As he continued flying, the Midoriya would then start...repeating jumping motions? Yes, he seemed to be pushing off of the air with his feet, not getting anywhere he wasn't before, but building up energy within his legs. Each motion brought more and more energy, before he finally reached his limit. "Here goes...I never thought I would use this on another person, especially so soon." Izuku muttered to himself, before then reaching Black Whip's limit as well.

Planting his feet on the ground, green lightning would dance across villainous-looking hero's body as he crouched down. "One for All...." he started, before with a leap, creating a sonic boom of energy. "FAUX 100%!" Deku then cried, flying faster than ever as he pulled on Blackwhip as well! Meanwhile, Sonic was still getting his bearings when he heard...really determined shouting. Shaking his head, the vigelante would turn towards the sound, still blocked by the smoke around him. "What the heck--" he started, only for a figure to dart through the smoke, parting it instantly.

For the brief moment that Sonic saw the blindingly fast visage of Izuku, he would look completely shocked, only his reactions saving him from a direct strike to the face by a leg. He got clipped though, which by itself was enough to send him FLYING into the side of a building--heck, it collapsed the building after a moment, leaving the hedgehog's fate unknown. As the rubble finished falling, Izuku would skid to a stop before looking towards the remains of the building, his expression shifting to shock as he realized what he had done.

"Crap! Did I just...!?" he couldn't help but wonder, worried that he had actually just killed the blue devil. Seconds ticked by, a lull in the action punctuating the dread that the green-haired hero felt. The sky above would start to roll in clouds, a rain starting to thump against the ground and Izuku himself.

Suddenly, one of the clouds would crackle with lightning, before then shooting down--striking the rubble of the building with a massive CRACK of energy! The smoke from before would whip up once again, only punctured by blue streaks of lightning and two bright blue, glowing irises. It actually mirrored Deku's own visage before, causing the hero-in-training to sharply gasp in surprise. "No way...he's still conscious after that!?" he would ask, before a bolt of danger shot through his head once more.

Before he could react to it though, a white glove was suddenly in Izuku's gut, winding him as his eyes looked down to spot...Sonic!? His quills were alight with Chaos energy, the sparking power having spread to his eyes as well. A frown was on his face, determination in his now electric blue eyes. "You wanna go all out!? Fine, let's go ALL OUT!" he would then cry, before then unleashing a second punch that would send the caught-off-guard hero staggering back! Without a second of a pause, the charged up hedgehog would dart after Deku, leaping into a ball before smashing into the green-wearing hero.

Before Izuku could react, another blue ball of high-speed electricity struck him from the side, and then another, another, yet ANOTHER striking from the back! Strike after strike would hit Izuku from every direction, Danger Sense sparking wildly in an attempt to warn Deku of an attack--that is, only for him to dodge into another strike. It was just too much for the green-haired boy to handle, the Midoriya gritting his teeth as he was bounced around in an array of blows.

Squeezing his eyes shut, Izuku tried to pull out more of One for All's power, internally straining his already strained body. 'C'mon...I just need a bit more! I can't give up--I still need to defeat All for One! Save Shigiraki! If I can't do this...then how can I call myself a hero who saves everyone!?" he thought, his words slipping out into the world before the lightning around his body sparked more wildly. One of these bolts would strike Sonic, causing the hedgehog to fly back from the force of the impact!

"Gah--ow!" Sonic cried, tumbling for a moment before he stumbled back up. Shaking off the pain as best as he could, he would look upon the hero before him...Izuku now standing tall with streaks of emerald lightning surrounding him. Crouching down into a charging stance, the full-cowled hero cried out to the world "FULL COWLING: 45%!" before rushing down Sonic. Pulling back his leg, Deku would go to unleash an upwards kick that was only narrowly dodged by the hedgehog, a twister forming from the pressure the kick was exerting.

"You can kick up TORNADOES!? What kind of power do you have???" the Blue Justice cried in shock, forced back onto the back-foot once again. Darting between kicks of high pressure, he could barely get in a strike as Izuku somehow matched him in speed. It was only thanks to his reaction speed and Izuku's kicks being telegraphed that he managed to dodge as many hits as he could. Finding a slip in the beserk hero's defense, he would go for a kick to the chin, pushing the metal chin-guard of Deku's into the boy's chin with an audible crack!

The barrage stopped for a moment, Sonic taking a few deep breaths as he looked up at his opponent. Izuku himself was frozen in place for only a brief moment, before his eyes landed back on the alien before him.

Given the intensity of the glare, the mere gulp and sweatdrop of worry that Sonic gave was honestly impressive.

The next moment, Sonic was sent SAILING through the air from a roundhouse kick to the cheek, spinning through the air before colliding with another wall--this time, only smashed against it instead of sent flying through it. Falling out of the imprint he formed in the wall, the blue devil would land on his front with a pained grunt. Bleary-eyed, he would look at the sight before him--Izuku starting to walk up towards him, slowly. In Sonic's eyes, it was an intimidating sight. In Deku's eyes, his body screamed at him to calm down. Neither were willing to back down however, with the green-eyed hero slowly walking, and Sonic starting to push himself up, grunting in exertion.

"This is over, 'Blue Justice'. You're out of power." Deku haggardly claimed, stopping before the blue-colored hedgehog. Still crouched in pain, but surprisingly standing, Sonic would go to grab something out from his quills...a green emerald, the size of his hand. "Good thing...I'm my own best battery..." the alien would claim. Confused, the Midoriya watched as Sonic held it close to himself before he felt it. Multiple streaks of danger crackling from the gem, with the glow reflecting off of Izuku's own emerald eyes.

"No way...that gem--!" was all Deku could let out out, before the danger became too much for him to bear. On instinct, Izuku jumped far back from the glowing gem, right as it was absorbed into Sonic's body.

CRA-BOOM!

[Cue: We Say Run]

A golden light would wash over the area, parting the clouds from it's sheer light. Forced to cover his eyes as he landed, Izuku could only squint as he watched the light then dim to a more helpful level. In Sonic's place, a golden warrior floated, wisps and cracks of chaotic energy surrounding him like a hopeful flame. His eyes would open slowly, yellow light shining before fading to reveal two determined, ruby red eyes staring back at the shocked Izuku. Slowly lifting a hand up, the figure in Sonic's place would soon speak.

"Do you see now Izuku? Others can fight at your level."

Suddenly, a set of barriers would shoot out between the two of them, a barrier forming slightly farther away from Sonic each time. The barriers were translucent, allowing both hedgehog and hero to watch the other from their sides. "Nothing can get through this, y'know. I made sure of that." Super Sonic would reveal, before lifting his arms in a shrug. "So what're you gonna do, hero? How're you gonna beat a guy with literal god-like power?"

Izuku's eyes were wide with shock, not knowing how to respond. His opponent--he just transformed before his very eyes! Heck, he could seemingly create a barrier that could possibly handle One for All striking it--multiple of them! Even if he got through one, he would just have to face another. Unless....'He doesn't know my full power...' Izuku suddenly realized, his breath catching for a moment before a determined glare settled on his features.

"I'll just do what I always have, what a hero should always do..." Deku would heave out, before closing his eyes. The air around him seemed to charge with electricity, energy welling underneath the surface of Izuku. His entire body would become wrapped in glimmering red veins, before with a sudden crackle of energy--part of his costume would tear off diagonally, power leaking out of the bruises and cuts that the Midoriya received through the fight. He would grit his teeth as more and more power flowed through him, folding ever so slightly as he raised his fists into a charging stance.

"And go beyond..."

With another ripple of energy, Izuku's hair spiked on end, glowing a bright cyan as his eyes shot back open. They were similarly cyan, his irises crackling against themselves thanks to the sheer power that was coursing through his veins. The electric green bolts that coursed around him shifted with his hair, turning a bright cyan that actually pushed against Super Sonic's own golden glow. Then with a roar of power, the now cyan-haired hero would shift his stance into a power-filled battle stance!

"PLUS ULTRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

Suddenly, the ground underneath Deku exploded, an after effect of the hero suddenly dashing off towards the barrier. It was like a blaze of punches, each strike hitting the barrier with the full, unfiltered power of One for All! Each punch sent shockwaves off of it, causing even more buildings to fall from the power that was being displayed this night. Super Sonic didn't seem all that phased though, simply crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow in response. "What part of 'you can't get through' don't you understand?" he would ask, although as he squinted closer....

Imprints. The barrier closest to him was starting to gain imprints of the punches that Izuku was sending his way. As Super Sonic realized this shocking fact, Deku shifted from his rapid punch flurry, darting back before charging up even more power within his body. Growling to himself, he would fire up two more of his Quirks, the hero starting to float off of the ground before then aiming his leg back....and kicking the air. Fa Jin activated with full force, sending Izuku HURTLING towards the barrier!

"UNITED STATES...OF.....'" would start to be shouted, Super Sonic's eyes widening as he realized what was about to happen. His glare returning, the super-powered hedgehog would raise a hand in the air, forming a green, stormy whirlwind above the sky. "Alright Deku! Let's see if this'll stop you!" the golden yellow alien shouted, before then thrusting his hand forwards. The whirlwind would curl behind the Super hedgehog, flying through the barrier in an attempt to stop Izuku's momentum.

"WORLD SMAAAAAAAAAAASH!"

It was far too late though, as the OfA user struck the barrier with an outstretched leg, afterimages colliding around his body before he shattered it! Each barrier after it shattered similarly, faster and faster as Izuku's built up speed was amplified by his use of Float. Realizing that he'll have to fight after all, Super Sonic quickly floated backwards before charging up all of his energy around himself. "Let's see if THIS'LL get you to give up!" he would cry back, ready to charge as the last barrier shattered.

Time slowed, as both Izuku and Sonic neared eachother. The now red-eyed hedgehog would slowly turn his guarded gaze towards moment in the corner of his eye, seeing as his foe's arm was being geared to punch...and red lines covered it once more. Shadows warped around Izuku's face, red, orange, and white projections of fists flying from behind him all in an attempt to strike the god-like superpowered alien.

Super Sonic's demenour seemed to change in an instant, a realization dawning on his face. "IZUKU! NO--!" he tried to shout, his guard lowered at the same time the fist connected to his chest.

BOOM!

Sonic's fur instantly fell back down, the gold draining away in a flash of light. A gust of air shot back behind him, dispersing the storm he formed and sending the Master Emerald flying back into the rubble. Blood flew in front of Sonic's face, a shocked and pained look across his features as he involuntarily stepped back from the result of the clash. Deku's own face was full of still determination, although as his gaze lowered toward the blue devil's chest, his own expression seemed to contort into dread and pain.

Planted upon Sonic's chest, the result of all of One for All being used for a last-ditch attack...was a bloody imprint of a fist, and the ashen remains of Izuku's fist.

Slowly, Deku would turn his gaze to the spot that Sonic was looking...his shoulder. Er...what remained of it, at least. The arm that the hero used to punch the formerly powered hedgehog had completely blown off from the force of his attack and the aura that Super Sonic held, blood leaking out of the stump that was Izuku's wound. One for All would turn down in it's percentage, leaving Izuku powerless as he fell to the ground on his knees.

A cry of sheer agony ripped through the city, in the spot where the future greatest hero and blue devil fought. Immediately alerted, Sonic would dart towards the green-haired teen, holding his back with one hand and his eyes locked on Izuku, horror in his gaze. "I-Izuku! Your arm...!" was all he could muster out, regret in his tone. As Izuku's cry died down, the now down-an-arm hero couldn't help but realize, a broken tone in his voice "I-I...f...ailed..." he would note, catching Sonic off guard.

"Wh--failed!?" he would ask, in disbelief. "I-I couldn't even beat you...how...h-how could I beat All for One, or s-save Shigiraki...?" Izuku would mutter out, only to be countered by Sonic. "You're focused on how you FAILED, when you're LITERALLY missing an arm! C'mon, I think we can still get it fixed!" the hedgehog would cry back, before trying to pull the hero up. That is, only for Izuku to lightly push away--falling out of Sonic's grip and landing on his back with a groan.

"Urgh...n...no. I've...cough...I don't think...i'm coming back from this one..." Izuku admitted, taking shallow breaths. A sadness was in his eyes as he admitted that, regret in his words. However...emerald eyes would meet eyes of a similar color, a small smile starting to worm onto the Midoriya's face. "You....y-you really want to be a hero...?" he would ask a shocked Sonic, the hedgehog only able to nod slowly in response. Taking another moment to breath out once more, he would shakily raise a hand to his bushy hair, before grabbing a small clump...and plucking, a few strands resulting from it.

Holding them in a death grip, the weak and weary Izuku would then bring his hand up to Sonic, offering the clumps to the blue devil. "E-eat.....this..." he would request, which in turn would cause his former enemy to back off slightly from the absurdity of the request. "W-what!? Look, I know you're dying and all, but i'm not--" Sonic started, only for Izuku to suddenly cut him off. "Just do it!" the bleeding out teen would shout back, which was enough for the blue devil to cowed into compliance.

One disgusting power transfer later, Izuku would finally relax, a smile formed on his face once more for a moment. "One for All...h-has to live on...." he would mutter...before with his final breath, nearly coughing out a small, but full of hope "P-please....do better th-than...me....." before finally closing his eyes.

His heart stopped only a few seconds later, leaving Sonic all alone with the body of a hero who would have been the greatest. Paralyzed by the tragedy that had just occurred, it only took a little longer before the only living hero in the area finally responded.

"...I-I will....Deku."

• Ending Screen A: Izuku within the realm of One for All, being comforted by the other vestiges as he cries.
• Ending Screen B: Sonic standing before the gates of UA, Izuku's body in his hands. The screen shifts to the same angle, but with Sonic standing before Shigiraki and One for All swirling around him. Izuku's Air Force Gloves and hood are being worn by him in the second image.

Results

Boomstick: So does this mean that Sonic's gottcha change his name to 'Tenic' or something, or...?

Wiz: This was a close match for sure, as both Midoriya and Sonic have preformed quite a number of impressive feats.

Boomstick: Yeah, Izuku actually held a few advantages in this brawl. He's way more experienced than Sonic, literally training to be a hero and getting into life-or-death fights more often than Sonic himself does.

Wiz: He's also much stronger and more durable in his base state, capable of destroying a city block at the least and a mountain at his best through scaling to All Might.

Boomstick: Yeah, all Sonic had here was speed and unpredictability. I mean, sure, Izuku's dodged gunfire, but Sonic was able to cross states in only seconds! He's like a spiky, annoying fly with The World on command.

Wiz: In fact, he was actually going to lose this fight up until his sequel came out: And with it, his key to winning.

Boomstick: Yeah, the Chaos Emeralds are some serious shit in that world. He was able to no-sell a punch from Eggman's Master Emerald Robot, which was casually destroying a town just by walking! Hell, his raw aura was boring holes in the thing while he flew through it! No way was Izuku getting out unscathed attacking that at 100%

Wiz: Speaking of, that's another reason that Izuku lost. Mostly, his main means of actually killing Sonic, One for All at 100%, would either tire him out if he used Full Cowling, or completely shred his limb if he focused it through there. Sure, his other Quirks could have helped prolong going that far, but at the end of the day Izuku's might was no use against the power of the Chaos Emeralds.

Boomstick: Hell, Sonic could've just warped Izuku to the bottom of the sea or that Mushroom Planet he hates so much using the Ring Portal--all he'd need is a lucky hit to knock him in there with no way back.

Wiz: That's right, Boomstick. In the end, Sonic's superpowered strength, invincible aura, blinding speed, and ring-out options were just too much for the Ninth holder of One for All to handle.

Boomstick: Izuku gave it his One for All in this fast-flying fight, but a win for Sonic cost an Arm and a leg!

Wiz: The winner is Sonic the Hedgehog.

Trivia

• The connections between combatants are that they're teenagers who have been gifted incredible power, with said power being sought after by power-hungry forces. The main way they use this power is through enhanced speed, taking on the rolls of speedsters in fights while finding creative ways to take down their targets. Speaking of which, both of them use their power to it's limits through a technique that wraiths them in lightning as a secondary effect, causing their eyes to glow and their battle prowess to skyrocket in almost every way. They both also had stints as vigilantes, before their friends convinced them that they didn't have to hold the whole world on their shoulders.

• The fight would be animated in pixel animation, with 2D Drawings for the close-up bits.

• The track to the first half of the fight would be named 'Jet, Set, Speed Me Up', a combination of Jet Set Run from My Hero and Speed Me Up from the Sonic Movie. The theme itself would be a fast-paced vocal track that takes elements from both heroes' themes, trying to argue on why their side of the battle is all but won. Meanwhile the latter half would be 'We Say Run', a track without vocals and instead combining the Super Theme from Sonic, Open Your Heart from Sonic Adventure, and You Say Run from My Hero together in a dramatic medly.
