This is a What-if? Death Battle between Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia and Ash Ketchum from Pokemon.

My Hero Academia vs Pokemon! These two main anime protagonists are determined and strive to be the strongest! But who will win?
Interlude[]
Wiz:Determination is being able to conquer your greatest obstacles and overcome all odds.
Boomstick:And these two combatants are shown to be trained and skilled enough to do in the end.
Wiz:Izuku Midoriya,bearer of All for One and successor of All Might...
Boomstick:...And Ash Ketchum,the Alola League Champion and trainer of Pallet Town. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz:And it's our job to analyze their weapons,armors,and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Izuku Midoriya[]
Wiz:Just imagine,a world where people are born with superpowers and superheroes and villains alike weren't out of the ordinary.
Boomstick:Most of the Earth's Japan had people with cool superpowers like super strength,creating explosions,or being able to use fire! Though some were just absolutely pathetic! I mean,stretching your eyes out and stretching your cheeks? Really?
Wiz:However,there were those who weren't born with these "quirks" including Izuku Midoriya.
Boomstick:Growing up,this kid was a complete fanboy of the No.1 Hero of Japan,All Might! I mean,from having All Might PJ's,All Might posters,All Might action figures,you name it!
Wiz:Unfortunately,due to him lacking a quirk he was quite frequently picked on by his class,notably explosion quirk user Katsuki Bakugou.It seemed that his dreams of becoming a hero were just in vain until one day he had a fateful encounter with his idol.
Boomstick:Admiring the fanboy's desire to help people and being a superhero like himself even without a quirk,the Johnny Bravo looking symbol of peace bestowed All For One unto the teen.
Wiz:And so young Midoriya's training had began and he would be later the green cladded superhero Deku.
Boomstick:His quirk is labeled as All For One. When passed down to by All Might,his body given super strength,speed,agility,and stamina. And having his quirk,Izuku can pull off a variety of smashes based off of the United States.
Wiz:His Detroit Smash is powerful enough to pierce through and blow down several floors in a building.His Delaware Smash just by flicking are strong enough to create shockwaves,vortexes in bodies of water and even break large ice structures! Measuring the height of the ice walls and the volume and density means that Izuku's output was around 2.01 Kilotons of TNT!
Boomstick:He can kick villains with brute force using his Manchester Smash. There's also his Full Cowl,which can increase the power of his attacks even further.His two most powerful of the Full Cowl techniques has to be his One for All 100%, and 1,000,000% Delaware Detroit Smash. Wow,that's a mouthful.
Wiz:All for All 100% gives Deku's body full access to All for One and can be applied to his other techniques though this can only be accessed when under pressure and comes at the cost of Izuku's bones breaking. His 1,000,000% Delaware Detroit Smash mixes the attributes of his Delware and Detroit Smash into one,even being able to defeat Muscular.
Boomstick:See that costume he wears? It isn't just for looking good or for show. His Costume Gamma can reduce the damage taken by his arms and allows for better leg movement along with those shoes being made of iron components that increase his kicking power. Now where can I get that?
Wiz:Midoriya isn't a slouch in speed either. He's quick enough to react to Shouto's ice attacks,which can move at 385 miles a second,move faster than Tenya than run who's calves are literally made of engines and with his Full Cowl almosted blitzed Nine at his peak.
Boomstick:Nine also managed to avoid and dodge Katsuki's explosions. You know,that asshole that bullied Izuku his entire childhood.
Wiz: The detonation of nitroglycerin explosions are instantaneous and detonation waves can move over at 7,700 meters per second which is more than 17,000 miles per hour!
Boomstick:And with his Full Cowl 100%,he even survived damage from and finally defeated Nine alongside his bully and together both Katsuki and Izuku dispersed a thunderstorm using All for One.
Wiz:Assuming both did the same amount of work in order to accomplish this means we would have to split this in order to estimate Deku's part. This means Izuku must've struck with enough energy to produce 2.23 Gigatons of TNT with Bakugou in their combined Detroit Smash.
Boomstick:It's like a Father and Son Kamehameha except with punching instead!
Wiz:However,Izuku's greatest strength is generally considered his biggest weakness aswell.While he has shown to master All For One and it's techniques,overuse of 100% or higher can lead to his bones breaking depending on what limbs he's using such as fingers,hands,and his arms.
Boomstick:He's also pretty reckless when it comes to fighting,mainly focusing on defeating his enemies or opponents no matter how many bones he has left functioning in his body.Though he does make sure he has a plan and observes his opponents and analyses their tactics before the whole bone breaking.
Wiz:While the past Symbol of Peace is currently retired and no longer in action,Izuku will always be there to defend his city from the villains and monsters that plan to attempt to take over and maybe just maybe become the future Symbol of Peace that All Might once was.
Izuku:A smiling... Dependable... Cool hero... That's what I wanna be! That's why I'm giving it everything! For everyone!
Ash Ketchum[]
Wiz:Pallet Town,located in western Kanto is considered one of the many hometown of well known trainers including Blue,Leaf,and even the legendary Red...
Boomstick:And last but not least:Ass Ketchup.
Wiz:*ahem* Ash Ketchum always held onto the dream of one becoming a Pokemon master and after turning 10 years old,he finally was old enough to receive his first starter.
Boomstick:Buuuuut due to his stupidity and busting his alarm clock,he woke up late and all the starters were taken from Professor Oak's lab.
Wiz:All but one Pokemon.Being the only Pokemon left in the Professor's lab,Ash's partner he chose was none other than the Mouse Pokemon,Pikachu.
Pikachu begins to shock Ash with his electricity.
Professor Oak:It's also known as the Electric Mouse. It's usually shy but can sometimes have an electrifying personality.
Ash:I see what you mean.
Boomstick:As expected,Ash and Pikachu's bond was a bit rocky at first and Pikachu was kinda of a dick.He would even go as far as to taunt his trainer and disliked his Pokeball.Then again,who would be ok being cramped inside of a tiny ball?
Wiz:But eventually,after witnessing Ash's courage and bravery from trying to protect it from a group of Spearows,they soon became trainer and Pokemon better yet friends.
Boomstick:Yeah yeah,the power of friendship and whatnot. Get onto to what this rodent's capable of doing!
Wiz:Being a Pokemon naturally,Pikachu has super strength,durability,stamina and most importantly:speed and agility. One of it's moves Quick Attack allows Pikachu to attack with a speedy tackle before his opponent can react and surprisingly a move called Agility itself,which raises it's speed stat.
Boomstick:Being an Electric type, Pikachu's go to move is his Thunderbolt,which shoots a bolt of electricity.Thunder can shoot an even more larger thunderbolt from the sky.Volt Tackle coats Pikachu with electricity to charge into his foes with a electrifying tackle with the cost of recoil damage.And stolen directly from Spider-Man is Electro Web,which can be flung at enemies to encase with an electric net that can also lower speed.
Wiz:His Electro Ball can be tossed at enemies and does more damage the quicker Pikachu is compared to who he's fighting. But his usual physical attack for doing damage is Iron Tail,which can hit opponents with a tail as hard as iron.
Boomstick:Each Pikachu's main ability is usually Static.When Pikachu is struck by an attack that comes on contact ZAP! You're paralyzed. Kinda like those tasers cops use.
Wiz:But Pikachu's greatest asset is usually his trainer,Ash's ability to create strategies mid-fight along with some recent tactics during their journey in Galar and Alola.
Boomstick:In their recent adventure in Galar,Ash received a Dynamax Band from Leon and can now Dynamax or Gigantamax his Pikachu! Remember that Pikachu sprite from the old Red and Blue games? This is him now! Feel old yet?
Wiz:Gigantamax Pikachu's signature attack is G-Max Volt Crash which fires electricity into the sky.Multiple bolts of lighting shaped like his tail strike down from the clouds,hitting his opponent and causing immediate paralysis. Max Strike is a Normal Type enhanced Dynamax moved that causes a burst of yellow energy erupts from the ground underneath Pikachu's enemy when he jumps into the air and Max Steelspike is used when Pikachu grabs and slams his tail into the ground,causing series of gray spikes that extend forward and strike the opponent.
Boomstick:Gigantamax Pikachu is so powerful that it could easily defeat a Gigantamax Drednaw,which according to the Pokedex,can devour entire mountains! Geez! It even briefly fought against Leon's own Gigantamax Charizard and survived took of it's attacks.
Wiz:Keep in mind that a regular Charizard can melt mountains with it's fire breath. Assuming the mountains Charizard melts are made of granite means that Pikachu can withstand the force of 790.31 Megatons of TNT! And this came from a Gigantamax Charizard so it's likely Pikachu can survive much worse attacks.
Boomstick:Ash also has a Z-Ring,which lets him preform Z-Moves with his Pikachu. There are many different crystals and types of moves Ash and Pikachu have mastered but we'll mainly be focusing on it's signature move:10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt! Ok what is with these attacks having so many numbers? Trying saying that over and over again.
Wiz:After Ash and Pikachu are done doing several poses,Pikachu then fires seven rainbow colored lightning bolts,which eventually form a giant geyser of electricity when combined together.
Boomstick:But Ash and Pikachu have proven themselves time and time again,they don't need evolution or even Mega Evolution to win all their battles.
Wiz:Pikachu's defeated Alain's Tyranitar,which can topple and move mountains just by stepping,defeated and took hits from Korrina's Mega Lucario,dodge Latios'Luster Purge,which attacks opponents with a burst of light,and has even defeated legendaries like Nihilego fused with Lusamine and Tapu Koko with 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt despite the type resistance towards Electric.
Boomstick:But Ash himself isn't just your ordinary human being. He's capable of lifting Larvitars and Cosmoem,who both each weigh 158.7 lb and 999.9 kg each,run on walls,survive his own Pikachu's thunderbolts and a Aura Sphere from a Riolu,which can bring on metal doors. Though usually Pikachu's the one who does the battling.
Wiz:And with Ash and Pikachu's greatest accomplishments and tactics in mind,they also have their greatest drawbacks. Being an Electric Type,Pikachu's are weak against Ground types and Ground type attacks.
Boomstick:Electric types also aren't very effective against Grass,Dragon,or other fellow Electric types. And if Pikachu overloads itself with electricity,it can become critically injured and possibly die.
Wiz:We also have to take in account that Pikachu mainly relies on Ash for commands. While he is capable of battling all by itself,Pikachu usually preforms much better qhen Ash is there to command him. Even then,they have their track record of losses just as they have their track recors of victories.
Boomstick:And Ash himself can be at times...dumb. Like seriously,how does he and gang continue to fall for Team Rocket's disguises and scams over and over again? They aren't even that good!
Wiz:But even after losing or being defeated by his various rivals across his multiple regions,he and Pikachu always managed to get back up,even with the odds stacked against them.
Ash:Now you look. I don't know who you're dealing with.I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town! And I'm gonna be the world's greatest Pokemon Master! Mess with me and you're gonna lose!
Death Battle[]
In Japan,Ash and Pikachu could be seen battling against League of Villains member Himiko Toga and she was continuously trying to cut Pikachu with her knife but to no avail.
Toga:I've always wonder what mouse blood always tasted like.
Ash:I don't think so! Pikachu,use Thunderbolt!
Pikachu:Pikachuuu!
Pikachu then fired a bolt of electricity at Toga,which violently electrocuted the villain into unconsciousness.
Ash:Way to go buddy!
Pikachu:Pika!
After helping out his fellow classmates and heroes deal with a crisis of a new red energy surronding Japan,Izuku managed to notice Ash and Pikachu alongside the unconscious villain.
Izuku:Thanks for the assistance. The League of Villains are using these weird creatures and some kind of energy to cause havoc in the city.
Ash:No problem! My name is Ash and this is my partner Pikachu.
Pikachu:Pikachu!
Izuku:I'm Deku.I'm assuming you've already received your Hero License right?
Ash:Hero License? What's that?
Izuku looked over at Ash in shock due to Ash's response.
Izuku:Wait,you don't have a Hero License? That means you can't use your Quirk in public!
Ash then looked over at his Pikachu in confusion and they were both wondering what he was talking about.
Izuku:I'm sorry but for breaking the rules of using public Quirks without a Hero License means you're coming with me!
Izuku prepares a fighting stance and held his fists up for brawl.
Ash:A battle huh? In that case,Pikachu I choose you!
Pikachu leaped from the air and landed on the ground safetly with sparks coming from his cheeks as he prepared to fight.
Pikachu:Pika Pika!
FIGHT!
Ash:Use Quick Attack!
Pikachu:Pika!
Pikachu then dashed toward Izuku at quick speeds before Izuku could get the chance to attack,tackling quickly in the chest and knocking him back a bit.
Izuku(thoughts):That mouse must have a speed Quirk like Tenya! I have to focus on his movements.
Ash:Pikachu use Electro Ball!
Pikachu:Pikaaachu!
Izuku:Detroit Smash!
Pikachu began throwing a ball of electricity towards Izuku who ran past it and struck Pikachu with a punch fueled by All For One,throwing him back and knocking Pikachu to the ground momentarily.
Pikachu:Pika!
Ash:Pikachu! Are you ok?
Pikachu nodded to Ash in acknowledgement.
Izuku:I'm just getting started! Delaware Smash!
Ash:Oh yeah? So are we! Pikachu,use Thunderbolt!
Pikachu then jumps into the air and fired giant amounts of electricity at Izuku who ran towards Pikachu and was shocked by the attack but managed to land a powerful flick that cause Pikachu to crash into a nearby car,shattering the front window.
Izuku:An Electrification Quirk too? It's seems to be stronger than even Denki's!
Izuku winced a bit from the pain of his fingers while Pikachu was slightly damaged.
Ash:Use Volt Tackle!
Pikachu then ran towards Deku again on his fours and began charging his body with electricity to ram at Izuku.
Pikachu:Pikapikapikapika!
Pikachu then slammed into Izuku chest,causing him to cough up some blood but he anticipated while being pushed back and grabbed Pikachu and spun him around plus the recoil of Volt Tackle.
Izuku:All for One:Full Cowl! Detroit Smash!
Izuku then landed a straightforward punch that knocked Pikachu high into sky and then falling down.
Ash:Now! Use Iron Tail!
Pikachu then used the momentum from the fall to land a powerful and fast devasting Iron Tail toward Izuku's area,who hardly could dodge as the half of his Hero Costume was torn from the attack,exposing half of his chest and right arm.
Izuku:Manchester Smash!
Izuku then used All For All to increase his leg strength and leaped mightily and went for an axe kick on Pikachu.
Ash:Dodge and use Electroweb!
Pikachu then avoided Deku's Manchester Smash,which caused pieces of rubble from the street to scatter upon impact while Pikachu flung an orb from his tail that formed a electrical net that restrained and shock Izuku a bit.
Ash:Now Thunder!
Pikachu:Pikachuuuuu!
As Pikachu shouted,a much larger variant of Thunderbolt struck from the sky and aimed at Izuku. Izuku broke free of the electrical net using his strength and avoided Thunder at the last second.
Izuku(thoughts):That mouse's attacks are being guided by that kid. If I can handle him,then his "Pikachu" should be no problem.
Ash:Pikachu,use Quick-
Izuku:All for One:Full Cowl 20%! Delaware Smash!
Before Ash could finish,Izuku flicked a giant shockwave towards him with his left finger,causing Ash to flung and skid across the street,leaving him with scrapes and bruises. Pikachu looked towards Ash in suprise.
Izuku:Now for you!
Izuku then began throwing several rapid punches towards Pikachu's direction,who without instruction was forced to take the powerful blows with the last one tossing him into Ash.
Ash:Pikachu can you get up?
Pikachu's body was a bit dirtied and bruised and he struggled to get up but did so in pain. Ash then recovered and grunted in pain as he slipped on his Dynamax Band.
Ash:Pikachu...DYNAMAX!
Suddenly,Dynamax began to flow fron Ash's Dynamax Band as light began to allow Pikachu to turn into Gigantamax Pikachu.
Pikachu:PIKA!'
Izuku is shocked by Pikachu's sudden change in size and barely avoided yellow bursting from the ground towards his direction by leaping unto several cars.
Izuku:A Gigantification Quirk like Mount Lady too?! Just what are you?
Ash:My Pikachu's one of a kind! Now,Max Steelspike!
Pikachu:PIKACHU!
Gigantamax Pikachu then held his tail and struck the ground,creating gray spikes that extended at Izuku,which sent him mid-air.
Izuku:Delaware Smash Air Force!
Izuku then fired several air bullets at the Gigantamaxed Pikachu,which started to violently push him back and caused him to stumble and fall down.
Ash:Pikachu! G-Max Volt Crash!
Pikachu:PIKACHU!
Gigantamax Pikachu recovered but only slowly due to his giant size and fired electricity in the clouds and lightning then began to later struck Izuku,who was struggling to overcome it.
Izuku:One For All:Full Cowl...100%!
Izuku's hair rose up and glowed much brighter than before and green energy surronded his body that caused G-Max Volt Crash to cancel and Izuku leaped towards the Gigantamax Pikachu's face.
Izuku:100% Smash!
Izuku then struck Pikachu with enough force across the face that it created a bruise on his right eye and forced Pikachu to stop Dynamax.
Ash:Pikachu!
Pikachu on the ground,struggling to get back on his entire fours and was grunting to the amount he was in.
Izuku:The destruction you're bring to my city ends now! Manchester Smash!
But as Izuku leaped towards Pikachu with an axe kick,his leg was surronded with yellow electricity and he stumbled and fell for a moment.Izuku felt as if his body was paralyzed.
Izuku:What?
Ash:It's Static! Pikachu,don't give up! I know we can do this! Together!
Pikachu then got back after taking damage and was breathing heavily as he was exhausted and hurt.
Pikachu:Pika...Pika!
Ash then puts on his Z-Ring and slid in the Electrium Z crystal,which began to flow with yellow energy and Ash gave Pikachu his hat and both began to preform synchronized poses.
Izuku:This has gone on far enough! Let's end this now!
Ash:You said it!
All For One then continued to course through Izuku's body as his entire upper part of his Hero costume was torn to pieces and he went forward with his most powerful Smash while Ash and Pikachu had finished preforming their most strongest Electric Type attack and both Ash and Izuku began to yell them out.
Izuku:1,000,000% Delaware Detroit Smash!
Ash:10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt!
Pikachu:Pika Pikaaaaaa!
Seven rainbow colored Thunderbolts came raining down at Izuku's direction while Pikachu was hit by a very powerful punch physically,causing him to cough up blood and the electricity of Pikachu's Z-Move and the two attacks clashed briefly before Izuku was then engulfed by 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt.
Izuku:(screams)
Izuku's body then began to overload of electricity and he then exploded into a pile of bones and blood while Pikachu fell from the air and landed safetly.
Ash:Way to go Pikachu!
Ash relieved that his partner was safe,went to give him a hug for his effort but soon after,Pikachu's eyes quickly turned into huge swirls as he then fainted in Ash's arms.
Ash:Hopefully,there's a Pokemon center nearby.
KO!
Pikachu had recovered after Ash eventually found a Pokemon Center and quickly leaped back onto Ash's shoulders. Izuku's remains were discovered and found by Ochako,who fell to her knees crying.
Results[]
Boomstick:Shocking isn't it? I bet you didn't see that one coming.
Wiz:While Izuku was more of a strategist and was likely more skilled in hand to hand combat,Ash and Pikachu were definitely no pushoevers.
Boomstick:Comparing them from the start wasn't exactly rocket science. Izuku can shatter floors and ice like it's no problem and even take down thunderstorms but Ash's Pikachu can clash efficiently against Pokemon that can destroy mountains just by stomping their feet like Tyranitar.
Wiz:While that isn't to say Izuku couldn't hurt Pikachu with his strength,keep in mind Izuku's strongest technique,Full Cowl 100% has the devastating results of potentially breaking his bones if overtaxed.
Boomstick:Yeah,Ketchum has moves like Volt Tackle which also cause recoil damage but not only is that far from Pikachu's strongest attack,it's unlikely Ash would constantly have to use it in order to hurt Izuku. Not to mention,Pikachu's agility and nimbleness would make him a hard target in the first place.
Wiz:The fastest we seen Izuku's speed being portrayed was when he fought against Nine and defeated him. Keep in mind,Nine could react to explosions from Katsuki,who's explosions come from nitroglycerin,which based on detonation waves move at 17,000 miles per hour.
Boomstick:But high hypersonic speeds weren't exactly that out of the ordinary for the Mouse Pokemon like when he avoid being blasted by a Latios.
Wiz:Going by and assuming the Pokedex entries are legitimate by stating the attack of Luster Purge act similar to a real life beams of light means Pikachu can move roughly at lightspeed. While Pikachu was alerted beforehand,even avoiding such attacks is still impressive nonetheless.
Boomstick:Not to mention,if Pikachu gets hit by a physical attack which Izuku's normally known for,he can always slow him down with Static,which would leave Izuku with not only broken bones but unmovable ones too.
Wiz:And comparing their battle styles and opponents with similar abilities,Pikachu's usual method while reliant on Ash mainly focuses on keeping a short distance while being mixed with close combat with moves like Iron Tail and Quick Attack while Izuku was mostly just a pure brawler.
Boomstick:Plus,Pikachu's faced many Pokemon that focus primarily on that like Lucario and even well-trained ones that know Mega Evolution which likely compares to Izuku's main choice of hand to hand.
Wiz:The closest character we could compare to facing Izuku is Denki,who has nowhere near the level of training and electricity power Pikachu is capable of dishing out.
Boomstick:Plus,Pikachu could just turn Gigantamax and literally step on Izuku like an ant or vaporize him with his signature Z-Move,which can also do damage to mythical Pokemon and even Ultra Beasts.
Wiz:Izuku was an incredible combatant,even capable of pointing similar abilities he's encountered and dealt with before but Ash and Pikachu's superior strength,speed,abilities,expierence,and teamwork were capable of handling All Might's apprentice.
Boomstick:You could say Izuku's shot of winning went from 1,000,000% to -10,000,000 and he was defeated All For Once.
Wiz:The winner is Ash Ketchum.
