Sonic the Hedgehog vs My Little Pony! While they were originally the best of their groups, after they lost one thing, they snapped, and tried to become the strongest they could. Will Infinite be able to take his revenge, or can Sunset Shimmer finally fix her story?
Interlude[]
Surge: Revenge, something we'll all feel. Whether it's because you never got what you wanted, or because you basically lost everything, everyone has a reason to want to have a taste of revenge.
Kuro: The best part is, they turn out to be... pretty badass villains, in some cases.
Surge: And to get revenge, they would need something to let them win. One of these cases would be Sunset Shimmer, the jealous student of Princess Celestia.
Kuro: And Infinite the Jackal, the leader of the defunct Jackal Squad.
Surge: He's Kuro and I'm Surge, and we're here to research their weapon, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle!
Infinite casts an illusion of DEATH BATTLE![]
Surge: In the crime world, many people have taken the role as the "Top Mercenary". Even though there have been hundreds of people to take this position before, one of the many mercenaries have been as great as the Jackal Squad.
Que: Infinite's Beginning - Sonic Forces
Kuro: Lead by a jackal of the name Infinite, the squad was one of the best groups that the Eggman could hire. This was, until of course, he'd lose against the man, and decided to immediately to join him. And by then, Infinite became something else. Even with nothing notable in his life other than being a great mercenary, he practically felt as if he strayed away, especially once he lost to the Ultimate Lifeform.
Surge: Yeah, and because of that alone, Infinite wanted to change himself even more. He abandoned himself, his entire past, and strived to become more powerful.
Surge: Once he'd be able to use the power of the Phantom Ruby, an extremely powerful hallucination-creating gem, Infinite completely abandoned his former self.
Infinite: That day, I gave up my own unsightly face. And I let go of the old me, the one that was so weak, so that I could become stronger. And then, at last... I obtained the power. The power to make all yield to my will. I... was... REBORN!
Kuro: Practically recreating himself, Infinite became a highly powerful, god-like being, with the power of the Phantom Ruby. This weapon allows Infinite to create illusions, reverse gravity itself, fly in the air, and even create entire pocket dimensions. Not only this, but, even while he previously got overpowered by Eggman with a singular punch, this form allowed him to keep up with Sonic, the same dude who's beaten the Eggman hundreds of times!
Surge: By overloading one's mind with false information, Infinite is able to warp their perception of reality, practically creating an entire new reality. With it's power alone, the Phantom Ruby can overpower both Sonic and the Player, the former being able to push over the Egg Golem, who weighs around 4,389,103 kilograms! That's basically like lifting up 64,927 tanks, which, you know, is impressive.
Kuro: Although, while Infinite is totally strong, he'll always try to prove that he's the strongest. He might have erased his past to become the strongest he could be, but if he's the strongest he can be, he'll always deny him being weak, even at his death!
Surge: But while the jackal's got a god-complex, he's definitely strongest as hell, no matter what you might think of his character!
Dr. Eggman: Of course! When it's complete, the resistance will be erased. The world will be nothing but ashes, from which a glorious Eggman Empire will rise!
Infinite: And the resistance will yield to the Phantom Ruby's power. All will submit.
Sunset Shimmer rises up in DEATH BATTLE![]
Surge: In Equestria lived a small pony, and a gifted one at that. While she doesn't share much of her story, Sunset Shimmer was such an intelligent and powerful pony that, like her other students, was picked up by Princess Celestia.
Que: Cafeteria Song (Instrumental) - My Little Pony: Equestria Girls
Kuro: Not only was Sunset a gifted pony, but she was also slightly... How do I put this? Self-centered? She disliked being with others without pertaining to her skill level, she wanted to prove she was strong, and most importantly, wanted to be the best, if she wasn't already. Regarded as Celestia's greatest student, she tried to fix Sunset Shimmer, by trying to get her to reflect on herself. Literally.
Kuro: What Celestia didn't realize that Sunset was too power hungry to be fixed... for now... and after asking hundreds of questions about the mirror, Sunset Shimmer got too fed up with the secrets that Celestia hid from her, and after trying to find out the secret herself, Celestia had gotten even more fed up, causing Sunset Shimmer to try and manipulate her even more, going as far as just asking for her role as the princess of Equestria!
Surge: What Celestia didn't realize that, even if she kicked out Sunset and completely stopped her from exiting the castle, she'd still find a way to enter that portal, whether it meant beating up Celestia's own guards, without effort nonetheless! And while Sunset only saw this form once, she would transform into a human upon entering the portal, immediately mastering how it worked. That's just a glimpse at how easily she can adapt to her situation!
Kuro: While in the Human World, Sunset practically developed herself as the school bully in every generic high school movie. She practically was feared by everyone, and she had control over everything that happened there. Despite this, no one was really on her side, only acting that way so Shimmer didn't attack them.
Surge: Being the antagonist she was, once she figured out that Celestia's other notable student, Twilight Sparkle, came to stop her, she didn't even care! She just taunted her and went about her day, until of course, she could finally find a way to take control over everything to prove her being the best.
Sunset Shimmer: I'll take that! ... At last ... More power than I could ever imagine!
Kuro: The only issue was Sunset was fighting the best kind of plot armor, kindness. And by plot armor, I mean literal armor, because while she got this really badass transformation, nothing can beat the defense of friendship!
Surge: More specifically, while Sunset did gain the power of the Element of Magic, Twilight's friendship had the capability of activing the Elements of Harmony, which resulted in her and her friends gaining a massive power boost, and completely stopping her from fighting properly.
Kuro: Despite being defeated, this demonic form of Sunset Shimmer had actually been surprisingly more powerful than you might think. She could crush a part of the school through her telekinesis, hypnotize and control all of the students unprotected by the elements, and could have even killed Twilight with no difficulty, if she didn't block it, at least.
Surge: While she was absolutely devastated by the Elements of Harmony, this alone proved to Sunset Shimmer that she obviously wasn't the best. While she cried at first, she realized that she could change herself with friendship, and with the help of Twilight and the rest of the Humane 6, she truly did.
Que: Welcome to the Show (Instrumental) - My Little Pony: Equestria Girls Rainbow Rocks
Kuro: Sunset Shimmer had been able to finally redeem herself, allowing her to become the 7th element: Empathy. Through this redemption, not only had she unlocked her true self, but also unlocked a new power, known as her Pony-Up transformation. Through playing music or anything related to friendship and her main trait, she can unlock this transformation, not only enhancing her powers, but usually giving her a specific ability related to her instrument!
Surge: Not only can she play louder music without the need of speakers, she can use the power of the Elements of Harmony, which can turn others to stone, seal them away, restore entire universes back to their original state, and even create a rainbow horse to defeat others!
Kuro: Sunset doesn't just have control over one element, either. As Daydream Shimmer, she quite literally has control over six of the elements, albeit slightly depowered than usual due to Nightmare Sparkle absorbing some of it, which allows her to use any of her other abilities with zero issues, plus being able to fly, shoot energy beams, and enter the minds of others.
Surge: Despite being powerful, and having so many abilities at her disposal, she has one major weakness: Her magic is completely tied to her lifeforce! Well, way more than her lifeforce, but what's most notable is specifically that it's tied to her lifeforce, and thus, using it all up could completely drain her stamina, if not kill her.
Kuro: Despite this, Sunset Shimmer isn't one to doubt at all, and if anything, you should still assume that she's the best, no matter what.
Twilight and Sunset: We're here to let you know, and we won't let it go, our music is a bomb and it's about to blow!
Intermission[]
Surge: Alright, we've ran data through all possibilities!
Kuro: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!
Death Battle[]
Pre-Fight[]
It was a regular day at Canterlot High, with nothing necessarily bothering Sunset Shimmer while she walked within the school halls. After the school day reached it's end, she found it to be rather quick, although that wasn't something she minded. While she wasn't in any of her classes with the other six, she knew they'd be out front at this time.
Smiling, Sunset Shimmer relaxed her body as she walked to the schools entrance, pushing open the glass door, and taking in a breathe of the fresh air, before walking outside of the school, exhaling deeply. Although, to Sunset Shimmer's dismay, the group wasn't outside... Odd.
"You must be the annoying pest that your... friends were whining about."
Sunset Shimmer immediately paused, turning around and hearing the voice behind her.
"Who are you..?"
"None of your concern. What is your concern is that you're going to die."
FIGHT![]
Que: ACADECA (Instrumental) - My Little Pony: Equestria Girls Friendship Games
Immediately upon hearing the threat, Sunset Shimmer had turned around, and as she was going to respond, Infinite raised his hand forward, and fired several beams of energy at her. In response, she jumped out of the way, hiding behind the statue that stood in the front yard. Wincing slightly, she looked around the area, before she heard a crackle behind her...
Suddenly, an intense beam of energy had shot right through the statue, cutting it in half, narrowly missing her. Though, even while this scared her, she'd have to dash right out from the side of it, and right under Infinite, catching the jackal off guard.
"Your resistance is futile..."
Infinite spoke, and suddenly, everything around the two turned red, followed by a static. Sunset Shimmer continued her running, attempting to enter the school, but as the jackal moved his hand, gravity itself was flipped and she was thrown into the air. Once this happened, Infinite pointed his hand forward, and Sunset Shimmer was thrown right through the window of the school, causing glass to fly everywhere as she was launched straight through.
With a loud crash, rubble had seemingly filled the classroom that Sunset Shimmer was flung into, but caused the color to fade, as Infinite floated up into the room, eyeing around.
"You pest..."
As Infinite looked around, Sunset Shimmer rose from the rubble behind him. Despite being slightly injured, she held a guitar in her hands with a smirk.
"Okay, rodent."
And as she spoke, she suddenly strummed a chord on the guitar, creating a soundwave that threw the jackal into the wall in front of her, before continuing to play the instrument, continuously making soundwaves that pushed Infinite back.
"You're... annoying me..."
As she continued playing, Sunset Shimmer's body began to transform, and with Infinite being extremely pissed off, his fist clenched, completely shifting the world around Sunset Shimmer as she'd finish her transformation, overpowering the red glow that was attempting to take over her mind.
"How are you... doing that?! Impossible..."
"I refuse to let you take control over my mind!"
"Then you'll DIE!"
Infinite spoke, and as he did, red cubes began to form everywhere, while he reeled his fist back, charging forward and attempting to hit her with a shockwave, but as it hit her, a forcefield was created around her, blocking the attack and instead launching the jackal back. Even despite this, the red cubes that formed everywhere suddenly fused together, creating a large cube that launched Sunset Shimmer forward, which knocked her out of the forcefield, and allowing Infinite to place his hand forward, charging another beam of energy.
Sunset Shimmer stared in fear, and immediately raised her hand forward and fired a beam of energy to counteract what was fired by Infinite, overpowering the laser and going right past him, throwing the jackal back and starting to weaken his aura...
"I..."
His body started to harden, beginning to feel like stone...
"WON'T..."
His mask started to slip, but...
"FALL!"
Suddenly, the rainbow power was completely enveloped by the power of the Phantom Ruby, allowing him to fly forward and slam his fist straight into Sunset Shimmer's stomach, launching her into the ground and creating a deep crater. Panting heavily, he began to calm, placing his hands on his mask and fixing it on his face, sighing.
"I refuse to lose to someone like you. I'm not weak."
"F... Fine..."
"What...?"
Sunset Shimmer immediately flew out from the crater that was in the ground, a pair of golden wings floating behind her, pointing her hand forward.
"You won't lose..."
Que: 'Daydream Shimmer' - My Little Pony: Equestria Girls Friendship Games
She would immediately fire a beam of golden light at the jackal, who tried to block it... Despite this, Infinite could barely hold back the power of Daydream Shimmer, and was enveloped in the energy.
"NO!"
...
"You can change."
"What... What are you doing..."
"Just like I've changed before. You can, too."
"You...""
"I promise."
"... ARE A FOOL!"
Suddenly, Infinite raised his hand, and the white void turned a red form, and suddenly several blades were created.
"Die."
But, as Infinite brought his hand downwards, to impale her, she disappeared in a flash of light... He stared, completely bewildered. He had control over her mind... This was...
"I have control over your mind! How are you..."
"You're controlling your own mind, Infinite."
"What..."
She pointed her hand forward, a golden light forming at the palm of her hand, staring at Infinite while he stood bewildered.
"Impossible... I can't lose! I REFUSE! NO! I'M NOT WEAK!"
Daydream Shimmer had frowned, reeling her hand back and slamming her palm into the head of Infinite, releasing a wave of golden energy directly inside of his body, and causing his body to... harden more... and suddenly, his body turned into stone, causing his body to fall into the white void, before said void began to darken. With this, Sunset Shimmer disappeared.

Descending to the ground, the sky was shimmering with the daylight, and the school seemed to be normal. The damage that was caused by the jackal was completely reversed, and everything seemed fine. Behind Sunset Shimmer, the limp body of Infinite fell to the ground, his mask completely destroyed, and his eyes became blank, with his mind gone. Walking over, her wings began to fade, as she lifted up Infinite.
"I'm very sorry."
K.O![]
She'd lift up the body over her shoulder, sighing as she thought on what to do with the comatose jackal, deeply sorry for what she was forced to do. Maybe if she tried a little harder, maybe it would be just possible to change him... But this was the way to stop him from destroying anything else.
Post-Analysis[]
Que: My Past Is Not Today - My Little Pony: Equestria Girls Rainbow Rocks
Surge: Aww. Infinite couldn't handle the truth, cute.
Kuro: Despite what might be thought, this battle wasn't really the fairest fight ever. While Sunset Shimmer obviously held a bunch of disadvantages as a human, she still had some major advantages that essentially stopped Infinite from necessarily doing anything.
Surge: For example, while Sunset Shimmer's strongest feat as a human was crushing a coal into a diamond, when compared to knocking down the Egg Golem, made her far weaker, Infinite literally couldn't affect her without physical attacks!
Kuro: Yeah, mind you friendship alone allows the user to be completely immune to her mind being affected by anything, so it was far too unlikely that Infinite could even use the Phantom Ruby on Sunset Shimmer, completely stopping and limiting him in combat, practically negating any way to beat her without attacking physically, and once Sunset Shimmer got the power of her Pony-Up transformation, it was over.
Pop-Up: The Dazzlings singing were explicitly shown to take over one's mind and put them in control of the Sirens, forcing them to make actions, which resisting that should be enough to stop the Phantom Ruby from connecting to her mind. Even assuming that this wasn't applicable to the Phantom Ruby's connection to the mind, lesser magic in-verse, such as those from Starlight Glimmer, have been shown to be able to block the power of Accord, a being who induces the concept of order itself into beings to manipulate their mind.
Surge: Not only did Sunset Shimmer have what was essentially an immunity, keep in mind that the Phantom Ruby's reality warping prowess to fuse reality with the illusions it creates, such as Null Space, an entire dimension of nothing, or creating a large star, all needed him to directly connect the Ruby to the minds of others.
Pop-Up: Due to Sunset Shimmer wielding a power greather than the Element of Magic on it's own, which is the source of magic itself, it was much more likely that she could wield simple abilities such as this resistance. Even despite the fact that the Elements couldn't block Accord's attack, this was because they were explicitly trying to combat the embodiment of Order itself, and were already weakened in context.
Surge: Even assuming Infinite creating Null Space was a literal physical feat, Sunset Shimmer was able to take apart two merged universes, given how she directly would scale to the Elements of Harmony, meaning she would obviously be stronger, plus with Sunset Shimmer having almost twenty different ways to incapacitate Infinite, if she didn't already have a physical edge, there was no way Infinite could do anything against her.
Pop-Up: Even with the argument that she wouldn't scale to the full extent of the Elements of Harmony, Daydream Shimmer was far stronger than her demonic form, the same form of hers using the Element of Magic, the strongest Element which explicitly gets stated to be the extension of all magic.
Kuro: Finally, even assuming that Infinite could even use the power of the Phantom Ruby alongside physical force, Sunset Shimmer can continuously reverse it through her abilities, or alternatively just have up a forcefield that'd be way more powerful than anything Infinite's ever faced, given how it literally blocked an attack from the Element of Magic!
Pop-Up: While the Elements don't have the full capacity of all of them together, there's no reason to assume they'd be infinitely weaker than one another, thus even while it only tanked a single shot from Sunset Shimmer using the Element of Magic, it would still be far more stronger than Infinite was.
Surge: After everything that happened to him, it seemed that Infinite had to come to an end, and the sun just had to set him straight.
Kuro: The winner is Sunset Shimmer.
