Prelude[]
Wiz: I love science about as much as science loves me...
Boomstick: Hmm?
Wiz: Its a love-hate relationship, Boomstick. As much as I adore the dynamics of mathematical method applied to optics from time to time... getting off track. There are certainly fields that I think we should stray far from. Such as Genetic Mutation on living organisms.
Boomstick: Like the Indominus Rex. The Tyrannosaur Hybrid from Jurassic World.
Wiz: And The Grimm Hound. Salem's ultimate, premiere stealth hunter from RWBY.
Wiz: I'm Wiz and he's Boomstick. And today we're diving into the darker realms of magic and science to analyze the weapons, armor and skill of these viscous and cunning monstrosities to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Indominus Rex[]
Wiz: Imagine a world very similar to ours. In fact, there is very little separating the real world from that of the Jurassic Park universe...except for one thing.
Boomstick: They brought back the woolly mammoth?
Wiz: What? No. It's Jurassic Park, not Pleistocene Park.
Boomstick: You’re a Pleistocene. And it was just a joke, Wiz. Of course everyone knows that this world is known for one big thing. Bringing back the Dinosaurs. But even then, thats still doesn’t impress some people. Ya, you know. Because the fact that they managed to bring back actual Dinosaurs and put them in a zoo just wasn’t enough, for whatever reason. So a bunch of idiot focus groups got together and decided they wanted something new and exiting... because FUCKING T-Rex wasn’t exiting enough.
Wiz: In an effort to keep their customers and focus groups happy, Masrani Corp. gave known geneticist, Dr. Henry Wu permission to create a hybrid of sorts. Something that would further put Jurassic World on the map. But I'm willing to bet that murderous, sadistic monster with more teeth than a crocodile isn't exactly what they meant.
Background[]
- Height: 5.5 meters High (18 feet), 15.2 meters Long (50 feet)
- Alias: Hybrid, I-Rex, Untamable King, Indominus
- Genetic hybrid of multiple dinosaurs
- Easily the most dangerous single dinosaur in JW
- May or may not be able to swim
Powers and Abilities[]
- Teeth (Bite force, roughly 6000 pounds)
- Claws
- Enhanced Senses
- Genetically Modified Aggression
- Camouflage
- Bulletproof
- Night and Thermal Vision
- Body temp regulation
- Stealthy for its size
Wiz: I present to you a monster as powerful as T-Rex with the claws of Allosaurus, the size of Giganotosaurus and the intelligence of a Raptor. The Indominus Rex.
Boomstick: Who gave it that name and thought it wouldn’t grow a superiority complex? Thats like naming a dog ''Bitus Assus'' and thinking it won't tear someone limb from limb. Its just a major oversite... which you'll find is a common theme with this thing. Like maybe get a little suspicious when it starts clawing at the walls, or acting really aggressive, and if it does go on a rampage, have more than one failsafe just by chance it figures out what you're up to.
Wiz: Well we wouldn't have a movie if they did, Boomstick.
Boomstick: I suppose you can't really argue with the results. I mean, this thing IS terrifying. Its roughly 50ft of claws and muscle that can overpower steel hydraulic doors, and sports rows of replaceable teeth that can break through glass strong enough to stop a 50. Caliber round, which can even pierce lightly armored vehicles. And did I mention it can roar at 160db? Thats as loud as a passenger plane lifting off.
Wiz: The risk of permanent ear damage is the least of your worries, Boomstick. The Indominus Rex was single-handedly the most aggressive Dinosaur ever bred for the park, largely due to its increased limbic system that contributes to a large amygdala. Basically making the most angry animal to ever exist. Top it off by keeping it in an enclosed space and feeding it though a pulley system, and you have a dangerous and unstable beast that views all life as nothing but cannon fodder.
Strength
- Overpowered a steel hydraulic door
- Threw around and dragged Rexy
- A 7 ton carnivore
- Destroyed through Gyrosphere glass, capable of stopping a 50 cal
Durability[]
- Withstood the bite force of a T-Rex
- Was shoved through several buildings and fences
- Briefly survived the crushing bite force of the Mosasaur
- Which was around 13k
- Survived a blast from an RPG
Speed[]
- Capable of running 30 miles an hour
- Fast enough to surprise Raptors
Intelligence[]
- Plotted her escape from confinement
- Lured the APC into a trap
- A group of highly trained Dinosaur catchers
- Knew to rip out her tracking implant
Boomstick: And unfortunately for us mere humans, that also includes us. And that's where this thing surprisingly excels because despite all of the park's best efforts to capture and kill this thing, it thwarts them time after time, either through brute force or just outsmarting them. Usually the former as she effortlessly defeated the task force sent out to detain her with little effort. This Indominus is scary smart for just one dino.
Wiz: That's putting it lightly. Not only did she plot her escape from confinement to perfection, but she kept some of her most dangerous abilities a secret from the scientists who were in charge of watching over her. She can sense thermal radiation and lower her body temperature to prevent being caught on thermal trackers, and speaking of tracking, she even ripped out her own tracking implant that had been embedded into her at birth. Suffering no ill effects.
Boomstick: And probably my favorite thing about this monster is that it can perfectly camouflage itself like some sort of toothy chameleon, making it nearly impossible to catch once it disappears. And even if you manage to find it before it finds you, you'll be in for a rude awakening once it opens its mouth. While not as powerful, its bite force should still be comparable to the T-rex, which, speaking off, it can not only match but surpass in brute strength. Thats 7 tons of pure muscle she's throwing around as well as withstanding the over 7 tons of force a Tyrannosaurus is usually capable of producing.
Wiz: She fought both the original Jurassic Park T-Rex as well as the Raptor, Blue, and Owen Grady all at once, and was still ready to continue the fight despite being outnumbered. Its been estimated that she can run 35 mph, and its reaction speed allows it to aim dodge machinegun fire from a helicopter. And even though it would ultimately fall to the Mosasaurus and its bite force 13 thousand tons of pressure, it still survived longer than anything normally would under those conditions.
Feats[]
- Fought both Rexy and the Raptor Squad, and was still ready to continue before being killed
- Expertly planned its escape
- Barely reacted to point blank shotgun blasts
- Killed multiple Apatosaurus, an Ankylosaurus and Pteranodons just for sport
- Withstood an RPG blast
- Easily tosses 2 ton jeeps into the air
- Shrugged off an Ankylosaurs club attack
Faults[]
- A sadist that will attack pretty much anything
- Capable of being overpowered
- Mentally unstable for a Dinosaur
Boomstick: Its almost poetic how quickly it was killed. One monster killed by another, even larger monster. It probably didn't help that the Indominus's greatest asset, its intelligence, is really only relative to things below or in its weight class. She is still a dinosaur and can't think exactly like a human can, even if she can set traps and such, its nowhere near what any human is capable of.
Wiz: The Indominus Rex is a curious yet somewhat tragic case study in what not do when given free reign over creatures beyond human understanding. Unlike the Raptors that were trained and raised together by Owen Grady, the Indominus was never given the care or attention it needed, and grew to resent its captors. In the end, the monster that was the Indominus Rex was nothing more than an angry, spiteful sadist of a dinosaur that could have turned out a lot better.
Boomstick: ..... I think you're looking to deep into it, Wiz. Its just a sick looking dinosaur.
"Oh, Indominus wasn't bred. She was designed. She will be fifty feet long when fully grown. Bigger than the T. rex."—Dr. Henry Wu
The Hound[]
Wiz: Thousands of years ago, the Brother Gods, the God of Light and the God of Darkness, granted humanity the ability of performing magical feats. Among the many humans capable of magic was a young Maiden named Salem.
Boomstick: You mean the black and white ink lady?
Wiz: Yes, but not yet. During this time, the future Witch was nothing more than a trapped, isolated woman who waited years for someone, anyone, to rescue her from her misery. And after many unsuccessful attempts, one mighty hero named Ozma...
Boomstick: *looking at a photo of Ozpin and Ozma* Hmmm, these guys bare a striking resemblance.
Wiz: … finally saved her from her prison and the two instantly fell in love. But it was not meant to be, and after being cursed with immortality for trying to bring back Ozma, Salem transformed herself into the Witch we know today. Gifted the ability to control and manipulate the Creatures of Grimm, Salem sought to create something that no one was ready for. Another tool in her quest to alleviate her immortality, and erase all that exists.
Background[]
- Alias: My Hound, Salem's Experiment
- Species: Grimm-Hybrid
- Height: 5'9 (Canine Form), 8'7 (Humanoid/Winged Form)
- Was originally a Silver-Eyed Faunus
- Shown to be far smarter than the average Grimm
- A very, very bad dog.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Claws and Teeth
- Elasticity and Regeneration
- Flight
- Supreme Stealth Machine
- Immortality
- Enhanced Senses
- Immunity to Soul Manipulation
- Adaptation, Body Control
Wiz: The Grimm Hound is without a doubt Salems most interesting creation. A near-perfect meld of Faunus and Grimm that eliminates the weaknesses of us petty mortals, and the weaknesses faced by most Grimm...mostly.
Boomstick: You see, all Grimm are susceptible to attacks that revolve around the God of Light, like people with silver eyes. So Salem decided ‘’if you can’t beat them, then unwillingly transform them into werewolves,’’ at least that's what I got out of it. Basically she turned a poor silver-eyed faunus into her pet. Either way this thing is a fucking unit.
Wiz: A unit, and a hunter perfect for pursuing, oddly enough, huntresses. While most Grimm are drawn to negative emotions, which many skilled hunters and huntresses are able to keep under wraps, this does not impede the Hound as it can easily track and retrieve its targets over the course of days. Despite its lack of eyesight, the Hounds audio and olfactory sensors more than make up for it as it has no problem determining the size, distance and even power of its target.
Boomstick: What we mean is that it might as well have eyes to begin with. It knew how hard to hit Oscar so that it only broke his aura without damaging him, and knows exactly where everything is. It's like Toph if she was bitten by a werewolf.
Strength
- Effortlessly broke through a solid ice wall
- Held off a non-restricted Penny
- Overpowered Ren and Yang
Durability[]
- Left unfazed by most attacks
- Barely reacted to being pinned by a Boarbatusk
- Survived Ruby’s Silver Eye attack
- Which would kill most other Grimm
Speed[]
- Similar in speed to the average Beowolf
- Outraced HBV Rhinos
- Snuck up on and ambushed Oscar
- Without being detected by him, Ren, Yang or Jaune
Intelligence[]
- Near-Human Intellect
- Capable of basic Human Speech
- Stalked Yang's group without being detected
- An excellent hunter and tracker
- Used Oscar as a human shield
Wiz: Most if not all Grimm are designed with the specific purpose to kill humans and faunus’s, but The Hound takes its specialty to a whole new level. Its outer hide is layered with a messy, tangible substance that's primarily meant to absorb damage, but also allows it to grow in size and modify its extremities to looney toon levels. It can elongate its limbs to attack from a distance, create new joints to allow it to stand bipedal or even sprout extra arms.
Boomstick: Or even better, grow wings and fucking fly! The HBV Rhinos the gang was using to chase it clocked in at 104 kilometers. Its reaction speed is also pretty impressive given that it managed to damage Ruby’s aura before she even had a chance to react. Other Grimm have been known to react to lightning so its not implausible to suggest it couldn’t either.
Wiz: It's able to accomplish these transformations through not just its biology, but its intelligence. While it's unknown how much control the former Faunus’s mind has, it's clear that the creature not only understands humans, but also how to beat them. It's adaptations allow it to use basic human speech and is knowledgeable enough to know that Yang and her team wouldn’t attack it when it used Oscar as a human shield. This was, of course, after it stalked and snuck up on them without being detected in the slightest.
Boomstick: Even if you manage to detect it, good luck holding this thing off. Even the Android Penny couldn’t keep this thing at bay for long, and granted she wasn’t in complete control of herself by this point, but even without her weapons she’s still strong enough to stop incoming vehicles. Given the truck she halts has a similar shape to our own ‘route trucks’ we can assume it has a similar weight of 12.5 tons.
Feats[]
- Survived a blast from Ruby's Silver Eyes
- Captured Oscar and almost took Penny
- Broke the Auras of Oscar and Ruby
- Broke through Weiss' ice wall
- Overpowered Penny, Yang and Ren
- Survived being rammed by a summoned Boarbatusk
- Easily defeated Ruby
Faults[]
- Weak to the powers of The God of Light
- Enough damage can temporarily disable it
- B L I N D
Wiz: Given that it also broke through a solid ice wall, I’m not surprised. The Hound is an incredibly powerful adversary and worthy hunter but the price of power does come at a heavy cost. While it did survive the initial barrage of light from Ruby’s silver eye attack, the massive amounts of damage left it in a brief state of mental overload. Theoretically, enough damage could cause the Faunus inside to shut down temporarily, and fatal damage to the faunus within the Hounds core could also spell doom for the Grimm.
Boomstick: And that was all it took for the Schnee family to drop a metal statue on top of it, forever ending its reign of terror. Tis a shame that we didn't really get a better look at this thing but hey, its a reminder of one of life's truest phrases. ''All is fair in love and war, especially when you have a demon hunting dog on your side.''-Ben Franklin, probably.
''An... Experiment. So far I am pleased with the results.''-Salem
Quick Note[]
RohgeKiller: While both can summon help in the form of the Raptor Pack and other Grimm respectively, I've chosen to negate that factor in this fight.
Pre Battle[]
Far off from Beacon Cliff, of which the famous Beacon Academy is situated, lies a land shrouded in mystery, wonder and darkness. Despite its colorful and serene landscapes, the Emerald Forest has long served as a home for some of the deadliest, and most despicable beings to roam the world of Remnant. Which is exactly why it also suffices as the testing grounds for the initiation of new Beacon Academy students. For what better place to hone ones skills and prepare themselves for a lifetime of fighting the worst the world has to offer, than right in the backyard of the very things you've sworn to destroy.
The creatures of Grimm have long been the main adversary facing Man and Faunus alike. With each passing generation of hunters and huntresses that train day in and day out to combat their foe, so to are the Grimm ever changing and evolving into twisted, more wicked forms to hunt down their prey. Its been a bloody affair that began thousands of years ago and continued with seemingly no end, no matter how much humanity advanced in the food chain, there was always at least one Grimm that terrified even the most battle-hardened of warriors.
At this moment, the inhabitants of the forest were as followed: 9% Wildlife, 90% Grimm, 1% Huntress.
That 1% was a panicking Ruby Rose.
After being separated from her fellow RNJR members, the young huntress found herself being the target of the most relentless Grimm she'd ever faced. It stalked her throughout the forest without showing a hint of slowing down. The strange beast pursued her for nearly 3 hours as she ran at top speed in short bursts, traveling miles within minutes and at some point during the chase had lost her previous Crescent Rose. Leaving her without her second best weapon.
Even her greatest, those bright silver-eyes that would terrify most Grimm, was rendered almost useless. Having finally spent most of her energy to keeping a safe distance, Ruby nearly collapsed against one of the forests many trees, unable to run for much longer. Knowing full well that if she didn't lose or kill the monster hunting her to the very end, she would never find her way out of the forest and back to her team.
But as she heard a low growl from a nearby bush, she closed her eyes and concentrated. Preparing to use her last and final resort to taking out the relentless Grimm. All she had to do was focus. '’It's just a grimm. It's just a grimm. It’s…’’...
...right on top of her before she could think to open her eyes.
The young Rose let out a shriek as the Grimm slammed into her, taking the wind with her and damn near breaking her aura all in one go. The creature's ice cold jaw huffed, almost appearing to sneer as it looked upon the dazed girl, as eyeless as its face was, it had no problem discerning her from everyone else. She barely had time to gasp as it held her down with its paws that cracked and expanded to form deadly claws that on any other Grimm would have seemed strange.
That's because this was no ordinary Grimm.
For starters; it was smarter than it had any right to be. Miles away it began tracking the silver eyed huntress, stalking her from the shadows for hours without detection from its target or her friends. It did so in such a way that mimicked how an assassin would locate their next victim in a crowded cityscape; slowly, exceptionally patient and above all, methodical.
And all that was before it revealed itself. At first glance it was nothing special for a Grimm. A quadrupedal canine, similar to a Beowolf but more hunched and certainly acted more like a dog. But there was a mystery to its biology, in that it took adaptation and evolution to a whole other level as it could change its shape and frame to suit its needs whenever it felt the need. And in this moment, its mission was clear as it gripped the struggling Ruby the shoulders and prepared to make a break for it with her as its prize.
A broken growl, almost human-like in its cohesiveness left the monster's lips as it lifted her up. ‘’Take...the...Gi-’’
The Hound paused and snapped its head to the left. Sniffing the air and catching a whiff of something unfamiliar to it, in the sense that the smell was like nothing in the world of Remnant.
A sound akin to a heavy puff of air was only heard by the mutated Grimm, followed by a light tremor that shook the ground and in response, Salem's Hound completely forgot about the girl in the red hood, who used the opportunity to kick herself free and make a speedy break for it. Hearing a guttural roar from the Hound as it faced its seemingly invisible foe. Disguised or otherwise, the former Faunus knew ‘it’ was there.
It was then that the rocks adjacent to the wolf seemed to move. As if an opacity filter was slowly being toned down, revealing a massive, pale-scaled, digitigrade monster with enough teeth to fill a weapons rack. . Its claws could spear the average beowolf and pierce even the armored carapace of a Boarbatusk. Rising to a height of roughly 20 feet, this Indomitable creature easily towered over the Hound, which, despite the difference in size, gave off no impression that it was planning on backing down.
Like the Grimm before it, this monster was a mix of the deadliest and most ancient creatures to ever inhabit the earth, and then some. Its bloodshot eyes were a lot better at analyzing and examining than anyone dared give it credit for, and while its understanding of the world was basic, its hatred for all things, living or dead, was immeasurable.
The Rex narrowed its eyes, stomped forward and unleashed a loud, deafening roar that shook the trees around it. The Hound snapped its jaws, its upper body beginning to crack and bend as it roared back at the charging dinosaur.
FIGHT![]
The Hounds ‘vision’ was completely blanketed by rows of shark-like teeth as the Indominus closed the distance, roaring loud enough to disorient its enhanced sense of hearing. The jaw of the Indominus snapped shut, hitting nothing but air as the Hound dashed away, extended its claws and hooked onto the dinosaur's back, pulling itself forward and up to land atop its horned back. Its claws denting the bulletproof hide of the Indominus.
Said dinosaur skidded to a stop, whipping its body around in a move to dislodge the sleek black hound, who slammed its jaws into the side of the rex’s ribs. Doing little more than pissing it off as it finally managed to shake the Grimm Creature off its hide, continuing its motion as it the Hound sprung into the air. The massive tail of the rex slammed into its side with enough force to snap bones in half...assuming the Hound had bones to break.
The oily surface of the Grimm’s skin protected it from most forms of damage, even as the pushback of the dinosaur's tail sent it flying, its claws digging into the ground to stabilize itself. Leaving a trail of uprooted dirt a couple dozen meters long.
It didn’t take long for the Untamable King to follow up the attack. Rushing forward, she swung her head like a hammer, toppling a small tree when the Hound dashed away, being mindful of the rex’s deadly claws. It reached out with its own claws and sliced at the Indominus’s legs like an angry cat, breaking the skin on one side before pouncing over it and doing the same to the other. Using its elastic body to attack the much larger monster from a distance.
The Indominus shrieked as she felt her skin tear, unable to retaliate as the Hound avoided her attempts to retaliate, including another swing of her tail that uprooted multiple trees. Frustration grew by the second after one particular swipe of the Grimm’s claws cut deep into her thigh, unleashing a loud, ear splitting roar that would have deafened any other lifeform. But the Hounds ‘ears’ folded in to protect itself before reeling its arm back.
However this time the Indominus was ready for it, and raised its foot just as the elastic claw shot out for her, stomping on its arm and crushing nearly 6 tons of pressure. The Hound cried out as its arm was crushed like a twig, only for the Rex to raise its other foot and further smash its arms, snapping it from the rest of its body. The gooey substance poured from the wound as the Hound reeled in pain while its arm quickly regenerated, but not quickly enough as the Rex made its move.
Using her head like a battering ram, the hybrid dinosaur crashed into the Hound and like a bull in a china shop, she rammed her body into multiple trees. Pinning and crushing the Grimm between herself and the solid trunks of the oaks around her before grappling her smaller foe by the waist with her powerful jaws of needle teeth. Piercing the gooey surface of the Hounds form and keeping him in her clutches, even as it scratched and clawed away at her scaly hide. Swinging the Grimm around like a deer caught in the mouth of a crocodile, the Rex then tossed the Hound away, sending him straight into the trunk of a massive oak. His essence still lingering between the maddened hybrids' teeth.
The Indominus Rex continued her simple plan of keeping her smaller foe within biting distance and rushed him, mouth open wide.
But the Hound dashed up the side of the tree at the last moment, causing the Rex to crash head first into the solid trunk, dazing it just long enough for the Hound to pounce on its neck from above. It dug its claws and teeth into the back of the dinosaurs neck, scurrying around whenever those 2 meter long claws threatened to skew it. The Rex once again threw herself like a ragdoll to try and dislodge the grappling Grimm, even slamming into trees wasn’t enough.
The Hound went back for the neck of its foe, hanging on for dear life as the Rex struggled in vain to get him to let go. As a third arm sprouted from his back to provide support as he went for the jugular, the Rex opted to simply fall over, rolling onto its back in an attempt to crush the Grimm under its weight. The Hound just managed to leap from its foes back, sprouting wings as it did and taking flight.
Blood poured from the open wounds that painted the Rex's face, neck and back. Her jaw slack as she stood, looking up at the flying beast with bloodshot, vengeful eyes.
The winged lycan growled and rushed the bloody Indominus from above, its claws outstretched for maximum damage. Its first lap missed as the Rex sidestepped the attack while the second grazed the pointed crown of the its head, much to the Hounds delight.
Snapping and clawing at the Hound as if it were a frustrating fly, albeit one with knives for hands, the irate Indominus fled for the trees, camouflaging itself amongst the greenery. The Hound made its lap around to find the Rex had all but disappeared amongst the trees. The Hound had no eyes, but it did have an acute sense of smell and hearing, which is how it was able to detect the mutant dinosaur to begin with.
‘’Found you!” A guttural taunt escaped the Hounds throat. Zeroing in on the near invisible dinosaur with silent precision. A homing missile with pure pernicious intent.
The deadly claws of the Hound found their target as he landed directly on the skull of the Indominus, the pushback knocking the side of the Rex into a tree, nearly toppling it as it snapped its jaws and clawed at its own head. The wings of the Hound burst into extra arms for extra support, dripping a black essense on the Rex’s pale scales. While three of the limbs were used to grapple the upper jaw of the Indominus, the other raised and dug into the dinosaur's right eye. Even its skin, hardened as it was, was no match for the flesh tearing digits of the Hound.
The Rex roared, agonizing pain erupting from its bleeding socket, which the Hound continued to claw at despite already blinding it beyond repair. Scurrying to the other side of the head, the Hound went for the other eye and prepared to permanently blind the Indominus.
It was then that the Rex was able to lower his head and claw at one of the Hounds legs, slicing it clean from the vertebrae. From the Hound came a harsh growl as it used its other limbs to balance itself, putting it at eye level with the Rex as it hung from the center of its jaws, meeting its bloody eyes as it growled.
The Hound's vision went black as the jaws of the Indominus wrapped around its head and neck with a vice grip, even in its weakened state. The Hound's extra limbs gripped the edges of the Rex's jaw and attempted to pry it open to free itself, despite piercing themselves on its teeth. All the while the near prone Indominus threw its neck around and gripped the body of the Hound with its claws, its thumb piercing its chest.
Pulling with its arms and neck, the Indominus ripped the head of the Hound clean from its body, squeezing the very life from it, which was currently pouring down its arms. Rather than eat it, the Rex discarded the head from her mouth and threw the body away. It landed not too far from the bloody Rex, who leaned against the tree, close to collapsing from exhaustion and blood loss.
The limp, headless body of Salem's experiment remained as still as a grave, with the Indominus still keeping her eyes on it. The surface of the Hounds body began to bubble violently, arms twitching. There was a hole where the neck had once been, and what the Rex failed to see was what lay within the beast. A pair of silver eyes on a horribly disfigured face were visible for a moment before the Grimm flesh swallowed it up.
‘’Kill...Kill…’’ Came a guttural noise that the Rex identified as human in appearance. The sound replayed like a loop as the head of the Hound regenerated from the endless mass, rising to all fours and reeling itself back, a guttural roar escaped the Hounds throat as it looked to finish the hybrid with a single swipe of its claws. ‘’Kill!”
Rushing the neck of the prone hybrid with jaws wide, the Hound gripped the Indominus by the jugular with its jaws, using at least 2 extra limbs to hold on while the other two clawed at its jaws. The Rex would have roared if the air hadn’t been restricted from its windpipe, but it did struggle to make it to its feet, clawing at the monster at its neck that refused to let go. Like a leech, it wouldn’t stop until its prey was drained completely.
Which was exactly the Hounds plan. Blood poured from the wound and covered the monochromatic Grimm in crimson. The Indominus let out a sickening cry as it tried in vain to pry the monster from its nape, feeling its life draining while it wasted its energy.
Letting out a near defeated groan, the Rex gripped the lower body of the Grimm with its claws and held on tight and while the Hounds vice grip wasn’t faltering, the Indominus’s legs were. The dinosaur held onto the wriggling Grimm before throwing itself forward, with the Hound unaware that 6 tons of muscle was about to fall right on top of him.
With the Rex putting all its weight dead center on Salems prized creation, she fell forward with a thud, shaking the ground and splattering black liquid in all directions. From under the scaled underbelly of the Indominus, the Hounds free arm twitches violently before falling, slack and limp to the grass below. Raising rolling over on her side, the dinosaur still felt its blood leaking from the wound, but at least it wasn’t getting worse.
As for the Hound, or what remained, the blackened puddle of melted flesh and who knows what began to dissipate. The once destructive claws fading away into nothing, leaving behind a humanoid skeleton in the same position as the Grimms' crushed body. Limp and lifeless. The Untamable King let out a cross snort from its bloody nostrils.
Raising with a limp in her leg and more cuts and scars than she already had. The mighty Indominus raised her better leg and crushed the skeleton of the former Grimm, leaving nothing behind but dust and blood.
The Untamable King reclaimed her crown.

Boomstick: As a wise man once said, ‘’there's always a bigger fish’’. I don’t know what that has to do with this, but it came to mind.
Wiz: Well that's not entirely inaccurate to our current situation, Boomstick. As much as I love the Hound and think it's certainly a dangerous amalgamation of magic and science, it was pretty outmatched against the Indominus, for a variety of reasons.
Boomstick: Speaking of variety, the Hound did have more abilities that would make it harder to kill than you’d might expect. Especially its regeneration and complete control over its bodily adaptations. This would allow it surprise the Indominus for a good while, but as cool as it all is there isn’t much it could do to match the overall power of the Indominus. Granted, we never got to see the full extent of the Hound's abilities, but there isn’t really much to suggest it could suddenly grow as large as the Rex or morph its body to the extent that it could overpower it. If it could, we’d have a different outcome on our hands.
Wiz: Comparing the Hound to a full-powered Penny doesn’t seem all that plausible since they barely had time to lock up, and she wasn’t in complete control over herself at the time. But we do know it could at least contend with her for a brief moment, so fighting the Indominus one on one isn’t out of the Hounds league entirely. It could certainly survive a bite or two and its regeneration made it harder to deal actual damage. It was much faster and could avoid the Rex entirely through its flight, but like comparing Knuckles to Donkey Kong, speed means nothing if it couldn't do proper damage.
Boomstick: And that's where the Hound falls kinda flat. The Indominus could easily crack solid stone, topple Apatosaurus which can weigh up to 45 tons, overpowered steel hydraulic doors, throw trucks and overpower a 7 ton carnivore that could snap bones with one bite. Sure the Hound was rarely ever matched physically, but that's because its prey was usually below its weight class to begin with. And remember when the Indy did eventually die at the hands of the Mosasaur, which could bite with a force of 13000k, just higher than 6 tons? Well it still survived the initial assault, but let's compare that to the statue that killed the Hound.
Wiz: Given the statues height and the most likely material being marble, with the armor being solid steel with iron plates, we can put it at around 1900lbs, or 0.95 tons. Even assuming that's the minimum amount of weight it would take to crush it, it's still nowhere near the amount it took to subdue and kill the Indominus, and much less than the Indominus own weight.
Boomstick: And while the Hound did have the intelligence advantage which made it a better strategist, it was still only as smart as Salem wanted it to be. Its greatest achievements were always when it had the element of surprise, fear and even pure strength advantage, so it's not going to end well when all three of those things are stacked against it. The Rex is physically stronger, heavier and just as brutal, leaving the Hound with, admittedly superior intelligence, but very little else.
Wiz: Especially when you take how strong the Indominus is. Imagine a battle between a single wolf and a blind bear. The wolf needs the element of fear, surprise and can attack the bear until it bleeds out. But all the bear needs is one good hit and the fight is over. Unfortunately for the Hound it was in a similar boat. Without anything that could match the raw power of the Rex, it was at a severe disadvantage from the start.
Boomstick: The Hounds end truly was, Grimm.
The Winner is the Indominus Rex!

Trivia[]
- This battle would likely be in 3d, with the Indominus Model being from Jurassic World Evolution, and The Hound model from the RWBY webseries.
- Both predatory monsters are genetic hybrids of two or more different species, which resulted in something far more dangerous than the average member of their species (Dinosaur and Grimm)
- The difference being that the Indominus was originally going to be theme park attraction, while the Hound was created specifically to track, capture or kill its targets.
- The Indominus Rex is rather smart for a Dinosaur, being able to analyze weaknesses and form simple plans to lure its target into a false sense of security. Meanwhile, The Hound exhibits somewhat human-like intellect as it too plots its next moves carefully, but is also capable of human speech.
- While not in the same league, both are capable adapters for their respective worlds. The Indominus is seen hunting for sport and quickly learns from its surroundings, while The Hound can physically adapt its body to suit its needs.
- The word ''Indominus'' in Latin means ''without master'' or ''without owner''. Which is also in stark contrast to The Hound, who was created by and serves Salem.
- Both were ultimately taken out using crush type damage, with the Indominus being crushed by the Mosasaur before drowsing, while the Hound was crushed underneath a stone pillar.
- This was originally going to be The Indominus Rex vs The Xenomorph Queen.
