Description[]

Iceman and Kuzan. Cold does not even begin to describe just how "cool" they are on the battlefield. Possessing one of the strongest powers in their world have made them among the strongest in their world. Now it's time to see which one is "cooler".

Intro[]

Wiz: Iceman. Marvel's cool omega mutant.

Iceman's Intro Card

Boomstick: Kuzan. One Piece's cold blue peasant.

Kuzan's Intro Card

Wiz: The element of ice. A cold unbelievable force of nature. So powerful that being encased in it will leave you to be shattered like glass.

Boomstick: Appropriate for these 2 for their ice is so great, it's hell that has the snowball's chance. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to see who would win a Death Battle.

Iceman keeps it cool in Death Battle[]

Wiz: Mutation. The key to evolution. Usually taking a millennia to happen but on the rare occasions, evolution leaps forward.

Boomstick: That's an understatement. For in the world of Marvel, evolution took such a drastic leap forward that people are now getting superpowers.

Wiz: However the world was not ready to handle such a crazy advancement. With some even going as far as to harm or even kill those with this new power. Truly a harsh new reality that the new world was entering.

Boomstick: I'll say and the worst part about these mutants is that their powers would rise up at the worst of times. Take Robert Drake for instance. Growing up Robert, or Bobby to his friends, was just a normal kid with a constant cold and and feeling incredibly cold. Not the asshole kind of cold, more like he was actually cold.

Wiz: But this was not a result of some form of illness, it was Bobby coming into his mutant heritage. One day when he was being harassed by some bullies, Bobby's mutant powers lashed out and encased them in ice. Revealing his powers to his hometown, he was now outcasts and wanted to be executed.

Iceman's Background

Boomstick: Which would have happened, but not before he was saved by another mutant, Charles Xavier. Who decided to aid Bobby by helping him control his powers and use them to help others.

Wiz: Bobby would accept his offer and would attend Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, becoming one of the first and youngest members of a superhero team called the X-Men. All while having a title fitting for his mutant abilities; Iceman.

Boomstick: Don't let that silly name fool you. Iceman is one of the most underrated powerhouses in Marvel. With frighteningly cold powers to match.

Wiz: Bobby mutant heritage grants him superhuman strength, speed, and durability. Making him a superhuman even without the use of his powers. But Bobby's real strength is to manipulate the very temperature around himself, which in this case means reducing the temperature to absolute zero.

Boomstick: Which is a fancy way of saying he can mess with ice. He can shoot beams of ice to freeze his foes, shoot shards of ice at his enemies, or freeze an object so much that they shatter with a mere impact.

Wiz: His potency in ice is also just as terrifying. He can create a cool wave of air that can snuff out fire, freeze you down to the molecular level, form icy constructs like slides, weapons, to even an Ice Voltron, and he can even target specific parts of the body to freeze over without direct contact. Anything from your heart, to your brain, to even the flow of you blood. And when it comes to combat his ice is just as strong. So strong in fact that it can even survive hits from from the Norse God Thor.

Boomstick: Ya know the dude who can crack planets... WHILE STANDING ON ANOTHER PLANET!!! Considering the distance he was at the time, he must have swung with enough force to generate over 600 Yottatons of Tnt. And Bobby would only get stronger from there.

Popup: While Iceman was overall enhanced by a Death Seed when he was fighting Thor, Mystique would later state that the Death Seed only removed mental inhibitors that refrained his real power. Iceman would later take on even more powerful opponents later in his life.

Wiz: Overtime with the X-Men and other allies, Iceman would take foes of all shapes and sizes. From Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants to Apocalypse's Alliance of Evil, there was no shortage of battles that he would inevitably go up against.

Boomstick: And the more people he fought, the more powerful and insane his powers became. Like how he can now transform his body into an icy shell for extra defense or his body entirely out of ice. This lets him shapeshift his body however he likes, like growing a pair of wings, sharp claws, or growing to the size of Godzilla. But the best thing he got out of this was a busted healing factor. Like no joke, his healing is insane.

Iceman's Powers

Wiz: It's true. He's reformed his body after having entire holes blasted through his body. He's survived being dipped into molten metal, had his body destroyed and regenerated from a shard of ice, he remade his body out of water molecules to expel poisons, and even when his body was melted away, he reformed himself using nearby moisture.

Boomstick: Woah woah woah, moisture? Isn't his whole shtick making ice?

Wiz: Not just ice. Iceman can manipulate the temperature of his surroundings so thoroughly he can expand his powers into the air itself. Because of which he can morph his body into water vapor and reform his body that way. And outside of manipulating ice he can even mess with water. Freezing and unfreezing it at will.

Boomstick: Oh big deal, I can do that too. Just get me a freezer, a cup of ice, and a blowtorch and I can turn water to ice and vice versa.

Wiz: Really? Well can you do it fast enough to outrace an explosion which has a temperature comparable to the sun's surface and freeze it down to solid ice? Cause Iceman can do that.

Boomstick: Uh... well... I can... but I won't show you.

Wiz: That's what I though. Still, to be able to freeze something with a temperature of over 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit in less than a second would take an immense amount of energy. Bobby's power would inevitably grow more and more powerful overtime. However for as immense is ice powers may be, his real struggle was dealing with himself.

Boomstick: Yeah we're not talking about his weird love life that even his older self had to talk to him about. We're talking about how his ice powers became too strong, even for himself. In fact it became harder for him to maintain this power. Like when he once regenerated his body, he had trouble reverting out of his ice form, which kinda drove him a bit insane.

Wiz: It was only through the aid of people like Emma Frost or through objects like the Death Seed that Bobby's power begun to explode to it's truest potential. However as time would go on he would eventually grow into his own power and learn to control it to its fullest. In fact his immense pool of power might just stem from Iceman himself being an Omega Level Mutant.

Boomstick: For those who don't know Mutants have a ranking system that determines just how dangerous they can be, and an Omega Level Mutant is at the top of the charts. In fact they are so strong that they basically ignore the laws of physics with their power. In Bobby's case he can freeze stuff that shouldn't really be frozen. Like the speed of light, whatever that means, and can even freeze space-time around him down to the quantum level.

Wiz: To put it frankly, an Omega Mutants potential has no upper limit. And Bobby has demonstrates this abilities in several unique ways. Like how he's able to make sentient clones through ice like a mutant Elsa and can even expand his own consciousness to virtually every source of ice and water. He feels everything. Every snowball thrown, every frozen lake people walk across, every speck of snow around the world. He sees it... and he feels it.

Boomstick: God damn, he came a long way from just being Mutant Frosty the Snowman. And he's used this power to take on some powerful foes.

Wiz: He's create condense ice cold enough to douse the Human Torch, went toe to toe with Drake who was enhanced by a Death Seed, fought against and along side teams like the Avengers, and can survive hits from Cyclops's eye laser. At his most powerful he's even defeated beings as strong as Terrax, a former herald of Galactus.

Iceman's Feats

Boomstick: But not just normal Terrax, it was a Terrax who was enhanced by a speck of the Black Winter. You know the evil entity that's swallows whole universes?

Wiz: Well it was just a speck so Iceman probably cannot scale to him one to one, but even this enhanced Terrax was immensely powerful. So powerful in fact that he can even take on some of Marvel's heaviest hitters including the Silver Surfer. He's just as quick too as Iceman can even fight on even grounds with the friendly neighborhood Spiderman.

Boomstick: The same spider-person who can routinely dodge beams of light. Heck some other X-Men like Wolverine and Storm can even dodge beams of light as well, so he should be just as quick as them.

Wiz: This amount of immeasurable potential certainly makes Iceman a force to be wrecking with but unfortunately, this amount of power is only as good as the person behind it. Bobby can only maintain his Ice form for so long, usually up to 5 hours, with extensive use of his powers shortening it even more.

Boomstick: And with a dude made out of ice it's no surprise that he doesn't do well when he's stuck in extremely hot places. Like how he once froze a lake in hell and became exhausted afterwards.

Wiz: Well he was in literal hell so I don't really blame him.

Boomstick: He's definitely beat the snowball in hell troupe so good on him. Though even with his flaws, it's a small price to pay for insane power. It doesn't matter where you are or when you are, so long as Iceman's there, he's be sure to keep things cool...

Wiz: ...These jokes are gonna get much worse later isn't it?

Boomstick: Heheh.

Iceman: Unless you people think I need to embarrass myself some more... I've got someone's ass to kick.

Kuzan freezes over Death Battle[]

Wiz: In the world of One Piece, there exists many treasures. Islands, fame, wealth, and more. But above everything else, there are pirates roaming the seas.

Boomstick: And not pirates like Captain Jack Sparrow. No, more like the pirates who ruin lives, take over islands to call their own, steals the wealth, and gaining fame for how bad they are.

Wiz: So it's up the the World Government Marines to do battle with them. A world organization that ensures that peace is maintained across the world, with the Marines being instructed to do battle overseas.

Boomstick: These marines are no joke and they come in a variety of different variants. Giants, weird scientists, and more. It gets pretty nutty if you look into it.

Wiz: Amongst their ranks lies the Blue Pheasant Marine Aokiji. Better known by his real name, Kuzan.

Kuzan's Background

Boomstick: Little is known about this dude's past, only that he joined the Marines at 19. Through rigorous training, he ascended the ranks to become a high ranking admiral in the Marines but he feels like he could be even better. So he decided to do training with one of the Marines' strongest people; Garp.

Wiz: After some effort, Garp agreed to train the young Marine; putting him through some of the toughest training that he went through.

Boomstick: Takes a guess what this guy did for training? Instead of your average workout to punch harder like punching bags or that one annoying guy you want to punch, his training resumé involves punching giant battleship bags with nothing but his bare hands.

Wiz: It was through this training that Kuzan possesses superhuman levels of strength and speed. Strong enough to overpower characters who can lift buildings while heavily injured or swing around giant golden balls. Don't ask. And this is before factoring in Kuzan's power.

Boomstick: Yep. Since in the world of One Piece, people can gain special powers by eating a literal forbidden fruit.

Wiz: A Devil Fruit to be exact. While the origin of these fruits are unknown, some say that they were created out of the dreams of others desire or some can even say that they are a physical representation of human evolution. However the one thing that is clear is that those who ingest a Devil Fruit become clothed by Mother Nature herself.

Boomstick: As such, those who eat Devil Fruits cannot swim. Kinda sucks when the point of being a Pirate and Marine is to do battle OVERSEA!!! But Kuzan probably got the one of the better Devil Fruits since his can straight up say "F YOU" to the seas.

Wiz: Kuzan ate the Ice Ice Fruit. Not only does this further increase his already impressive speed and power but it also, as the name implies, gives Kuzan to manipulate ice. Whether he's generating it for himself for additional striking power or freezing his opponents to solid ice.

Boomstick: His ice is incredibly strong, capable of freezing the ocean as far as the eye can see with his signature move, Ice Age. It's so cold in fact that that same ocean he froze over would have lasted over a week. He can freeze you solid with a mere touch with Ice Time or freeze the moisture in the air to form weapons like swords or spears.

Wiz: He can extend his powers out using icy tendrils to freeze objects from a distance, encase his foes in an icy sphere, and can even create a giant sentient ice bird to throw at his opponent.

Boomstick: He literally created his own Articuno. Kudos. But just simply having ice isn't what makes him strong since the Ice Ice Fruit is rather special.

Wiz: You see, Devil Fruits tend to come in 3 different variants. The Ice Ice Fruit in particular is a Logia Fruit. A type of Devil Fruit that is often considered to be the strongest of the other 3. This is mainly due to Logia users being able to change their bodies into their respective elements, allowing them to morph their bodies to avoid lethal damages or when they do take a hit, they're original body remains untouched.

Popup: Other Logia users like Smoker and Kizaru have even been shown to freely operate their body parts whilst disconnected from their body and even achieve flight to a certain extent, so it's possible Kuzan could do the same.

Kuzan's Powers

Boomstick: Not that they need to do so in the first place. While transformed, Logia users even gain a super busted healing factor and Kuzan is no exception. He's had his body being destroyed into pieces and has been reduce to the smallest ice fragments and he just reformed his body no problem.

Wiz: Logia users abilities to transform into the elements also grants them the power to merge with their environment. Making an icy wasteland the last place you would want to fight Kuzan as they can utilize nearby energy sources to further increase in power.

Boomstick: Power that became useful when he's facing pirates of all shapes and sizes. From everyone's favorite Straw Hat Pirates to pirates the size of freaking mountains. Though this level of power did make incredibly laid back and rather lazy.

Wiz: Why does that sound familiar?

Boomstick: Oh yeah... the interns. They haven't been doing that one weird science experiment of yours. You know the one that will help you get out of your student de...

Wiz: MOVING ON while Kuzan's lazy personality may seem justified, especially when considering his competition, it's more or less an illusion when he goes up against his foes. Lowering his opponents guard until they realize who they're up against.

Boomstick: And the pirate world of One Piece isn't anything to scoff at. Especially when Pirates like Law can swing his sword strong enough to slice through mountains or other Pirates like Doflamingo can make strings sharp enough to slice an island. And those 2 are fodder compared to Kuzan.

Wiz: And to top off his power he has another power up under his sleeve. You see, Devil Fruits are not the only power source in One Piece. When taking on some of the strongest people he can further enhance his power by utilizing a special power called Haki.

Boomstick: The are 3 types of Haki, with Kuzan having access to 2 of them. Like Observation Haki, which lets him see the presence of others and can even predict their actions through their emotions. When he's not using Haki for predictions he can use it for offense with Armament Haki. He can coat his body in black spiritual energy to make his body tough and let him hit his foes harder.

Popup: It is unclear just how proficient Kuzan is in Observation and Armament Haki as he's never shown using advance techniques like future sight or internal destruction.

Wiz: Armament Haki is notably powerful because it is one of the few powers that can allow others to directly harm Logia users like Kuzan. This is because direct contact with Armament Haki forces the opponent to solidify their body, thus allowing the original body to be harmed.

Boomstick: That doesn't seem like an issue for Kuzan since he's proficient enough to morph his body to evade Haki enhanced attacks. Like when he went up against the big mustache man himself Whitebeard. Despite being weakened due to age being a bitch, the dude has been stated by Sengoku to be powerful to destroy the world.

Wiz: Well the exact contact around "destroying the world" is a little vague but given other feats in the franchise it's unlikely that he's generating enough power to destroy the whole world. Though that statement could also mean that he could destroy at least the surface and or cause planetary earthquakes, which characters from the series and guides heavily suggest or outright says he can respectively.

Boomstick: In order for Whitebeard to destroy the planet's surface, he must be able to output energies of nearly 10.4 Zettatons of Tnt. And Kuzan was strong enough to cancel out a shockwave created by this dude.

Popup: This feat was calculated using One Piece's planet which is larger than our own earth. Whitebeard's status as "The Strongest Man in the World" even in old age would make him comparable to to Gear 5 Luffy, who's strongest attacks are also in the Zettaton ranges making this level of power consistent.

Wiz: Well him and 2 other Admirals. But still it is impressive as him and other Admirals were strong enough to harm him and even pierce his body. So it's not too much of a stretch to say Kuzan isn't somewhere near Whitebeard's level of power.

Boomstick: And he and other Admirals proved it when they ended the life of Whitebeard and many others at Marineford. He's was even up for a promotion to be Fleet Admiral. Things were starting to look up to the dude.

Wiz: But he unfortunately after a battle with the Admiral Akainu, he lost his chance at a promotion.

Boomstick: And instead of taking this loss like anyone should, he was like "Well if I can't be top dog then lets see how you do without me" and dropped out of the Marines. And what do you think the worst thing an Ex-Marine can become part of? A freaking Pirate Crew.

Wiz: But not just any D Ranked Pirate crew. He would join forces with a pirate crew lead by one of the new Emperors of the Sea, Marshal D Teach. After a conversation, Kuzan accepted Teach's offer and became part of the Blackbeard Pirates.

Boomstick: And let's just say that Teach definitely got an amazing ally as Kuzan's power is no joke.

Wiz: He can create ice tough enough to clash with steel swords, freeze tsunamis big enough to dwarf Marineford, and can morph his body to evade an attack from Whitebeard. Who in old age was quick enough to intercept Kizaru, who's Devil Fruit allows him to dematerialize his body and lets him move at the speed of light. And just to testify just how strong is ice is, it's strong enough to clash with Ace's fire and even later would contend with the even stronger Akainu, who's Devil Fruit allows him to manipulate magma.

Popup: There have been numerous other Lightspeed feats in One Piece like Luffy, Zoro, Marco, Law evading lasers from Pacifista who uses Kizaru's Devil Fruit powers to produce light.

Kuzan's Feats

Boomstick: Anyone with a right mind can instantly tell you that ice doesn't do well with magma and Kuzan did overall lose his battle with Akainu. But it's not as bad as you'd might think, considering the battle between two lasted for a total of 10 freaking days with both walking out of that battle with damaged scars.

Wiz: The results of the battle on the island that they fought was so intense that the entire island's climate had change with the 2 sides of the island being permanently covered with flames and ice. And he would put his powers to the test when he was forced to take on his old mentor Garp.

Boomstick: Taking on his old mentor is no joke. Garp is strong enough to throw giant cannonball like nothing, KO characters as strong as Marco in a single hit, and punched hard enough to devastate a town... just by punching the air. By the end of it, Kuzan stood up victorious over his old teacher.

Wiz: But despite his powers, Kuzan is not invincible. Aside from the previously mentioned Armament Haki being one of the few things that can threaten Logia users, all Logia users have certain specific elemental drawbacks. Like how powers like water or a liquid can forcibly solidify a person made out of sand or how magma can overpower powers like fire.

Boomstick: Also Kuzan's ridiculous healing Logia power isn't always reliable. Like how after he lost to Akainu, he lost his leg in the process. Instead of his powers healing his lost limb he had to use a prosthetic ice leg since his healing couldn't repair it.

Wiz: Most likely the result of his original body is not made out of ice but rather his Logia body. Also Logia users must make the conscious decision to actively transform into their Logia bodies. Should an opponent be able to attack them before they get a chance to transform, they can be harmed as much as a normal human.

Boomstick: But given his speed it's likely people won't get a chance to pull a fast one on him. And he will continue to be a menace. Whether it be a marine, a pirate, on the land or on the seas, the world will be scared cold by the "cool" presents that is Kuzan.

Kuzan: This thing called "Justice" changes its shape... depending on where you stand.
