Homura Akemi VS Dave Strider is an upcoming battle by Wither. It pits Homura Akemi from Puella Magi Madoka Magica (PMMM) against Dave Strider from Homestuck, part of MS Paint Adventures.

- Time looping teenage heroes whose normal lives were turned upside down after a major event forced them to discover a world entirely unlike the one they knew. In this world, they were given assigned roles that came with a differing physiology that is resistant to he traditional means of death (Dave, like other god tiers, can't die unless it's an either heroic or just death. Homura, like other magical girls, is almost immortal as long as her soul gem isn't destroyed, but if it is it's an instant kill. She also can't stay too far from it or she loses control of her body) as well as the unique aspect of control over time, becoming a member of a group of those who also posses these powers.
- Their power is obtained in a seemingly innocent context, that was then revealed to lead them into a very grim fate necessary for the world's well being (for Homura, it's to avoid the universe's entropy, for Dave it's part of a cycle that involves it to be destroyed and remade)
- Both spend a large part of the story followed by a mascot-looking, plush-like character that they are extremely hostile towards (Lil Cal and Kyubey). Said character was later in the story reveled to be particularly dangerous and evil, and was directly involved with the story's climax, in which the two defeat them.
- Their main goal begins with them looping through multiple timelines in an attempt to halt the deaths of their best friend(s), the main protagonist of the story who will go onto ascend to a godly figure whose newfound powers will save their universe from a looming cosmic threat. These time-looping shenanigans mean that by the time they reconvene with the current story, they are packing gear and experience that is beyond the expected level of the time.
- They also both originally experience a mentor-like figure close to them attempting to ward off a threat relating to their settings, and later go on to meet an alternate version of them who is both strikingly similar yet very different, along with that both are involved in comedic situations with alternate versions of themselves (for Homura, it's in her spinoff manga).
- Both also end up ascending to a higher level of existence equal to that of their best friend, primarily as a result of a plot gone awry. Their powers manifest in a flashy set of clothes specific to them (The God Tier and Magical Girl Outfit), as well as a round tool they spin to activate time related powers (Discs for Dave and a small clock for Homura). Despite both's power over time, they have both failed/died numerous times in their exploits. This one is not that important, but their ascended forms gives it an God VS Devil aspect through Dave's God Tier and Devil Homura, fitting with Dave's more heroic and Homura's more antoganistic role within story
- In comparison to the other characters in their group, both can be standoffish and quiet, adopting methods of interaction that are specifically done so as to distance them from other people. This results in both having difficulty conveying emotions.
- These behaviours are reasonable as they have rather rough childhoods, pretty much being outcasts (Homura growing up an isolated childhood with her heart disease causing her to never quite learn how to interact with people and Dave getting raised harshly by his idolized yet abusive older brother, leading to his serious inferiority issues and using irony as a protection mechanism).
- They are also both devoted to the god-like protagonist, whom they consider their best friend and idolize.

- However, including Homestuck^2 and the Epilogues, Homura used said powers to keep her story completely static, and even preventing it to start at all, to ensure her friends's happiness and safety. In that goal she tends to screw with their memories. Dave tries to stop his brother Dirk, who uses similar powers to instead make the story keep going forward, manipulating his friends in the process and making the overall situation worse.

- We're not giving Homura access to Homulily or Akuma Homura. Dave is not getting his Ultimate Self either.
- Neither Homura nor Dave can use their time travel powers to acquire intel on each other or their weaknesses.
- No prep time, as that violates Death Battle's fundamental rules. Whatever Homura or Dave try to cook, they need to do so between the FIGHT and KO announcements.
