I wanted to become other people so badly. So in fits of jealousy and affection... I drank all of their blood. Maybe... just maybe... if I'd known this feeling sooner, then despite how badly I wanted to drain their blood... I woulda yearned to give my blood away too. If I'd experienced that sort of love... I maybe woulda had an easier time living in this world. In any case... I am Himiko Toga. I live and love how I please. That's how I made my way in life. Just a normal girl! With the cutest smile in the world.

History[]

Himiko was born as the eldest daughter of the Toga family. When she was a child, likely due to her Quirk, Himiko showcased a rather disturbing and morbid interest in blood. She once brought a dead, bloodied bird to her parents and cheerfully asked them if it was "pretty," which in turn scarred and disturbed them.

Disgusted with her behavior, her parents tried to suppress it from a young age by putting immense pressure on her to be "normal," which she then took to heart. Since then, she began to repress and hide her "abnormal" tendencies and began to act like an "ideal young school girl expected of society." She successfully hid this side of herself so thoroughly that by the time she was middle school student, Himiko was known by her classmates as a "cheerful and well-behaved girl," becoming a normal student with many friends.

However, this all changed when she witnessed a boy attending her school named Saito, fighting at school and getting covered in bruises and blood. Awakening her repressed "abnormal" feelings and tendencies, Himiko experienced what she believed to be a crush on him. Sometime later, Himiko had seemingly succumbed to this infatuation and attacked him using a box cutter. Wherein she stuck a straw into his wound and began sucking his blood while crying and, according to a passing classmate who had witnessed the assault, had a look of ecstasy.

Soon after, she disappeared and hid from both the police and Pro Heroes, as she was now a wanted suspect due to the attack, and later became the prime suspect in several murders involving bloodletting. However, Himiko managed to successfully evade and escape them all, until she officially joined the League of Villains.

Death Battle Info (Fanon)[]

Background[]

  • Full Name: Himiko Toga
  • Height: 5'2" | 157cm
  • Weight: Unknown
  • Age: 17

Skills/Abilities[]

  • Despite lacking a Quirk that amplifies her combat abilities, Himiko effectively utilizes her incredible agility, reflexes, and acrobatic skills in combat, making her exceptionally talented and dangerous, capable of contending with Pro Heroes in close-quarters combat.
  • A master of disguise, infiltration, and stealth, mostly due to her shapeshifting Quirk, Transform. With espionage being one of her most prominent traits, holding her breath and clearing her mind allows Himiko to erase her presence and allegedly vanish from her enemies' view, even in the middle of combat.
  • She is also adept at creating openings to conceal herself, such as intentionally forcing an opponent to dodge.
  • Highly proficient in Tantojutsu, which she uses along with her enhanced agility. She stabs her enemies at a close distance or throws her blades from a considerable distance.

Weapons and Arsenal[]

  • Combat Knives: Himiko is usually equipped with several knives in her arsenal. They are small knives with a black handle about the size of her hand that stretches longer than the actual blade itself. Even so, she makes them effective in combat.
  • Blood Sucking Machine: Himiko's villain costume is equipped with a blood sucking machine attached to her utility belt. As the rear of the belt are two large green tubes with wires connecting to six cylinders armed with retractable needles. She can throw the needles from a distance using the wires or stab her opponents directly. Either way, as long as the needle connects, the machine will begin draining the victim's blood. The blood is stored in tubes that are attached to the machine and can be saved for later. However, the machine is also connected to a mask, that allows her to drink the blood directly when it is being sucked out. Sometime before the Final War, her device had received an upgrade, with it now having jet-powered needles that Himiko can freely control rather than having to throw them.
  • Capsules: The blood can be stored in capsules so Himiko can use for later use. The capsules have a metal tube she can drink out of in order to Transform. She stores them in a green box she has on her torso.

Quirk[]

Transform: Himiko's Quirk grants her the ability to transform into a physical lookalike of another individual, as well as copy their voice. She can only transform into people whose blood she has ingested. The more blood she drinks, the longer she has access to that person's form. For example, 1 cup of blood lets her transform for a total of 18 hours. She can switch between the appearances of multiple people if she drinks the blood of more than one person. She can even duplicate a person's clothing, though, her own clothes would overlap the transformation, requiring her to get naked beforehand. Upon deactivating her Quirk or switching to another disguise, Himiko's disguise melts into a gray viscous liquid.

  • Copied Quirks: During her fight with Curious and her soldiers, Himiko's Quirk underwent an Awakening, giving her the ability to use the Quirks of the people into whom she's transformed, something that she was previously incapable of doing. Although, Himiko can only use another person's Quirk if she is fascinated by that person and holds that person close to her heart, and she must have sufficient information on their power.
    • Zero Gravity: The Quirk of Ochaco Uraraka, Zero Gravity allows the user to remove the effects of gravity from solid things upon touching them with the pads on their fingertips. The targets lose their gravitational pull the moment contact is made with them, effectively making them weightless. Through Zero Gravity, Ochaco can make anything solid float in mid-air as long as they are within the weight limit of her Quirk, which is around three tons. The Quirk's effect can be activated or canceled by Ochaco closing her fingers together. Himiko has a limited capacity to utilize this Quirk, only demonstrating a single technique with it.
      • Skill Release: An Ultimate Move performed by Ochaco Uraraka using the Zero Gravity Quirk, which was copied by Himiko Toga after her Quirk Awakening. Himiko uses Ochaco's Zero Gravity to negate the gravitational pull of objects she touches, making them float into the air before releasing the effect on them, causing them to barrel toward the ground.
    • Double: The Quirk of Twice, Double allows him to create an exact duplicate of anything, living or not. To duplicate something, he needs to know the precise measurements and characteristics. The duplicates are less durable than the original; the second duplicate is even less durable than the first. When Twice creats duplicates of a person, he has no control over the clones because they have their autonomy, personalities, and abilities utterly identical to the original. He is normally limited to only two duplications at a time. Creating doubles of himself allows him to bypass his two-duplicate limit since a duplicate of a person would possess the same Quirk as the original. The clones don't disappear; instead, they disintegrate into a mud-like substance after taking a certain degree of damage.
      • Sad Man's Parade: By copying Double, Toga is able to replicate Twice's signature Ultimate Move, swarming her opponents with countless Doubles of Twice. With this Ultimate Move, she can easily overwhelm the enemy forces through sheer weight of numbers and proceeds to spread out like an ever-growing army of ants. It is almost impossible to stop because if a clone is destroyed, they quickly create a new one to replace itself.
        • Sad Man's Death Parade: Himiko's deadlier version of Sad Man's Parade. Fuelled by rage, she summons countless Doubles of herself transformed into Twice with the express intent of killing anything in her path.
        • *Sad Man's Legion: By using her Transform Quirk to duplicate Twice's Double Quirk, Himiko is able to create a legion of clones that take the appearance of several Heroes and Villains, whose blood was taken from the battlefield of the Gunga Mountain Villa Ruins. The impersonations of people included in this move include, Himiko Toga, Twice, Pixie-Bob, Tsuyu Asui, Ochaco Uraraka, Kyoka Jiro, Shishido, Kamui Woods, and Near High-End Nomu.

Feats[]

  • Defeated Ochaco and Tsuyu on her own, pinning Tsuyu to a tree with a thrown needle and outmatching Ochaco in hand to hand combat while also stealing a sample of her blood. (My Hero Academia Chapter 80, "Establishing the Bakugo Bodyguard Brigade")
  • Kidnapped and disguised herself as Camie to infiltrate the Provisional Hero License Exam, successfully impersonating her for multiple days without anyone ever suspecting her. (My Hero Academia Chapter 102, "On Cloud Nine")
  • Outmaneuvered and physically overpowered Deku, forcing him to use 5% to escape her. (My Hero Academia Chapter 105, "Shiketsu High Lurking")
    • Deku at this point was strong enough to lift and carry a truck on his own and was fast enough to outpace bullets.
  • Went on a raging rampage and managed to killed multiple heroes at the Paranormal Liberation War
  • Repeatedly survived Curious' explosions, including the blood she drank exploding inside her body.
  • Defeated and killed Curious who was a Meta Liberation Army Leader, and her army
  • Became a Paranormal Liberation Army leader
  • Managed to escape the Paranormal Liberation War
  • Is so fast apparently she can turn invisible if her enemy takes attention away from her for a second
  • Survived/escaped multiple encounters with Ochako
  • Wounded Rock Lock and Eraserhead with her knives.
  • Fought and took indirect hits from a low-morale Gigantomachia while training with him.
    • Gigantomachia is strong enough to cause Magnitude 5 Earthquakes just by walking around and was able to harm Pre-Surgery Shigaraki.
  • Kept up with and harmed Tsuyu during the Final War Arc.
  • Was able to keep up with Final Act Deku using her stealth skills.

Flaws[]

  • Without her weapons she's incredibly weak, only having a 1 out of 6 in power/strength.
  • Not entirely free of trauma: having lost Twice in the Paranormal Liberation War arc.
  • Transform can only aesthetically transform its user into a perfect replica of a person. The user cannot replicate their target's personality, knowledge, or other such details. These details must be discovered separately by the user if they wish to mimic their target exactly, otherwise they can risk being caught out.
  • The amount of time Himiko can stay transformed, as well as how much blood she can ingest, are still limited, which means that her transformations have a certain time frame that will eventually run out.
  • Transform doesn't grant the user any level of knowledge about mimicked Quirks the way Copy does, severely limiting the user's ability to use said copied Quirks until they have studied them enough to use them properly.
  • Himiko can only use the Quirk of someone she's transformed into if she's close enough to them emotionally, and even then, her feelings can hamper the replicated Quirk's efficacy.
  • Using Transform to copy other Quirks causes her body great pain afterwards.
  • Double's copies become exponentially less durable the more are made. According to Jin, physical injury equivalent to a broken bone was usually enough to extinguish a clone.
  • The more objects under the influence of Zero Gravity, the more the user will struggle to keep them afloat.

Trivia[]

  • Concept art of Himiko already had her as an archetypal "yandere" (Japanese lingo used to describe a character who's dangerously obsessive towards another). One potential design included a different, plainer face with short pigtails instead of the messy hair buns present in the current Himiko design. She also had an entire row of sharp teeth instead of just prominent canines.
    • The prototype sketches of Himiko state that she is possibly bisexual, meaning she may be attracted to both males and females. It is unconfirmed whether this character trait has been kept in the main series. However, it is likely, as Himiko has expressed her "love" towards both Izuku and Ochaco.
    • Notably, Himiko's ability to use the Quirks of people she transforms into was first mentioned alongside those sketches, before the story confirmed it properly in Chapter 266.
  • In the third My Hero Academia anime opening, "Sora ni Utaeba", Himiko was shown as a silhouette, foreshadowing her appearance to come.
  • Himiko's rankings in the Popularity Polls are as follows:
    • Ranked 19th place in the Second and Third Popularity Polls.
    • Ranked 9th place in the Fifth Popularity Poll.
    • Ranked 17th place in the Sixth Popularity Poll.
  • According to Horikoshi, Himiko is the hardest to illustrate of all the female characters he has created so far, her eyes and hair being particularly difficult.
  • Himiko is the first character in the series to have her name revealed in katakana rather than kanji. This was likely done to avoid hinting at her Quirk.
    • Himiko's surname contains the kanji for "migrate" (? to?) and "self" (? ga?), and her first name contains "wear, put on" (? hi?), "somebody" (? mi?) and "child," which is also a feminine name suffix (? ko?).
  • While Himiko's Quirk was revealed 46 chapters after her proper debut in Chapter 68, it was hinted by her introductory quote to Tomura, where she stated her desire "to be Stainy".
  • Himiko is currently the youngest member of the League of Villains and the only female member following the demise of Magne and only female lieutenant in the PLF.
  • She likes blood and pomegrantes.
  • Due to TV regulations in Japan, Himiko couldn't be naked in the original broadcasts of episodes where she was supposed to be. Instead, the footage was altered to look like she was wearing a kind of light skin tone body suit under her disguises. This was changed in the home releases of the seasons.
